In 2005, 28-year-old Heather Bloom—a woman with Down syndrome who relied on full-time care—was last seen in Berkeley, California. Although police documented a disturbance at the apartment she shared with her sister and caregiver, Heather wasn't reported missing until four years later by her mother after she said she hadn't seen or spoken to her daughter since 2005.
