Asthma is something that affects hundreds of thousands of people across Ireland, but behind the statistics are families dealing with the reality of managing the condition every single day.New research from the Asthma Society of Ireland has found that almost one in ten parents say their child has gone without prescribed asthma medication because of financial pressure.The Society is now calling for free MART inhalers to be introduced for children aged 12 to 17, saying the cost of treatment can be a significant burden on families.One Limerick parent who knows that reality all too well is Michelle Cusack Sexton, whose daughter Gemma has asthma and had a severe asthma attack.
