The San Francisco Giants were walked off for a ninth time this season on a Jake Cronenworth single to drive in Xander Bogaerts to give the San Diego Padres a 6-5 win at Petco Park. Things started to look good for the San Francisco Giants in the 8th inning after Osleivis Basabe roped a game-tying two-RBI double with two outs, but nobody else was able to touch Mason Miller after Basabe's extra-base hit. Meanwhile, trade buzz continues to swirl, the Harrison Bader story keeps getting worse, and recent reports of Willy Adames not fully participating in Ron Washington's defensive guru guidance all continue to make this season memorable in all the worst ways. And, for the cherry on top, the rival Los Angeles Dodgers landed Tarik Skubal literally seconds before the San Francisco Giants lost this game. Things really can't get much worse.
