The San Francisco Giants have been remarkably consistent at providing heartbreaking letdowns, usually courtesy of the bullpen. Today was no different as they fell 7-6 to the Colorado Rockies in a game the San Francisco Giants absolutely should have won. Despite another heartburn-inducing start from Tyler Mahle, the offense powered the team to a two-run lead, thanks to two home runs from Rafael Devers and one apiece from Casey Schmitt and Drew Gilbert. Then Dylan Smith entered the game in the bottom of the eighth inning, surrendered a double, plunked a guy to put the game-tying run on base, then gave up a three-run blast to Kyle Karros, putting the Colorado Rockies up 7-6. The San Francisco Giants have now dropped both of their series against the Colorado Rockies this season so far.
