The New York Mets were down 2-0 before they took an at-bat and fell to the St. Louis Cardinals for the second straight night, 9-2.

It was a reshuffled pitching setup for the Mets, opting to go with Austin Warren tonight instead of Christian Scott (who will start tomorrow) and it was a disaster. Warren allowed two runs in the first inning and David Peterson didn't fair much better, allowing 6 earned runs over just 3.2 innings pitched.

As for the bats, well, you know the story by now. Another rough night ensued. The major chance the Mets had to make this a game came in the third inning. The bottom of the order setup 1st and 2nd with nobody out, but the Mets were unable to cash in and that was all she wrote. As a team, the Mets only were able to muster up three hits.
