This idea was inspired by Ernest Hemingway’s famous example:
“For sale: baby shoes, never worn.”

With just six words, this tiny story sparks curiosity, emotion, and an entire narrative. But beyond creativity, this exercise is also an amazing brain workout.

Need a little inspiration? Here are a few examples:

“She left. The door stayed open.”
“Clock stopped. He wasn’t breathing anymore.”
“Missed the train. Met my soulmate.”

Six words. Endless possibilities. So, what’s your six-word story today?"

Next up is one of my personal favorites—it’s fun, simple, and surprisingly thought-provoking. I call it ‘The Alternate Version of You.’

This exercise is a powerful way to tap into your imagination while reflecting on the choices that have shaped your life. What if you had taken a different path? Moved to a new city? Chosen another career?

Here’s how to do it:

Think of a pivotal moment - a career move, a relocation, or a personal choice. What if you had chosen differently?

Now, imagine your alternate life. Where do you live? What do you do? Explore the details—your routine, the people around you, and what brings you joy.

Pause and reflect; does this alternate life inspire you, make you grateful for where you are, or highlight a dream still waiting to be explored?

This exercise isn’t about regret - it’s about broadening your perspective and discovering what truly matters. If your alternate life excites you, maybe it’s worth exploring in reality. What would your “Alternate You” be doing right now?

Now, let’s bring everything together with one final, important takeaway. If you truly want to get the most out of these writing exercises, try doing them by hand instead of typing.
