Hey, welcome to the lineup live. There's a lot to get to today. A segment that we've been promising for, well, not promising for all, but said I wanted to get to. And then people have asked, well, when are you gonna. Okay, McCarthy was right. There you go. How's that? We're gonna get into it a little bit more. But you hear this term all the time. McCarthyism is just McCarthyism all over again. What if McCarthyism as it's used to encompass, you know, a fabricated problem used to persecute political opposition. What if that's not what happened? What if the Red Scare was real? What if you knew that people in positions of authority had deliberately infiltrated our institutions to try and subvert our constitutional republic? And McCarthy might have been a bit of a prick, but it doesn't mean that he was wrong. So we're gonna lay that out for you. Islam versus mental illness. I know, I repeat myself. And Tucker Carlson just laid out his, I believe, 10 point plan. Now listen, I've been in a rush this morning. I had to go to a meeting and I haven't had time to sit down with it, to really go through it piece by piece. So we're going to do that in depth tomorrow. But I want to say this because I see people arguing on both sides. Just have a moment of your time before we get to the show. I just spent time with a lot of other parents and kids kind of getting ready back to school and well meaning people. But you realize when you see kids in school and you see the environment, even good private schools, even Christian schools, it's a constant, constant, constant being surrounded by exclusively feminine influence. And there was a kind of a brief break where people talked about security at schools, which unfortunately is a reality. It's like, okay, so these guys are gonna come in, you know, to protect it, to make sure we can all do this. But that's siloed off. And that skill set and that mindset, and it's not just, I don't mean a skill set in fighting, but a skill set in recognizing evil, in making good judgments. Seems like we've lost that. Yes. Being good to others, yes. Being kind, yes, Being polite. But how do you maintain it? How do you protect it? And I understand with Tucker Carlson we're really at a point there's fertile ground for whether his solutions are correct or incorrect. I haven't had time to go through all of them and I will, I'll do my due diligence. It's easy to sell people a bill of goods. Because we all know that something is wrong and we're being told that there's not. Let me encapsulate that for you. It's the year 2026. Look at Gen Z. And they're incredibly adept at some things. But look at a 20 year old male or 20 year old female today. Look at the mental health data that we have. Look at lgbtqaip. Look at where we are societally. Do you believe that a 20 year old male today is more well adjusted and equipped to deal with the world than a 20 year old male from 20 or 30 years ago, the 90s, the 80s, heck even the 70s? Because we do have a society right now. Think about this. We have more access to information than ever, than ever. More access to healthy food and exercise and scientific intervention than ever. And a generation of people who are fatter, sicker and dumber by every objective parameter, quantifiable variables that we can put into metrics. Any of those available to us. Fatter, dumber, sicker, dying younger, the first generation. How does that happen? If you could travel back in time, I don't know about you, when I was little I used to fantasize, man, if I could go back to the Revolutionary War with just one machine gun, I would get it done. You think as a kid, what if you could go back to yourself if you were in school in the 90s, the 80s, or early, even early 2000, let's say 2002 and say, hey, here's a device that literally has all of the information you could ever want. You don't need to go to a library. You know what, you don't even need to cross reference search. You ask it and it can give you the answers. You could take a picture of your test and it could give you all of the answers with a 100% pass rate or assignment. I'm not advocating cheating. Back then a young you would go, oh my gosh, this is a superpower. Take your pick. Harvard Law, for some reason, people who've been raised with it, who should be most capable in using it. Fatter, sicker, dumber, dying younger. Now I'm not saying that we need to go back to the days of your where an alcoholic father came in and beat the crap out of his kids because they didn't know their ABCs or capital letters. But there may be a split the difference. There may be a. Hold on a second. We need to plan for and integrate as part of our curriculum, as part of rearing children, recognizing, making judgments of the evil of the world. So that we can continue to correct our course. That's really the big problem. People say the right has gone far right and the left has gone far left. No, the left has gone radically left. And the right in this country, including the Christian conservative right, have appeased and gone moderately left. We've had no course correction. So that opens the door. It creates an opportunity for someone to come in with any type of course correction. And we need to be very diligent in examining if that correction is. Is the right way, if it's accurate, if it's rooted in truth. Because we do need a correction. And I think that anyone denying that, anyone not acknowledging it, well, I think they're destined to fail, doomed to a life of doing the same thing that we've been doing. And we have technology. Our lives are a lot easier. That's great. But I don't think we're better off. So I understand why people are reaching out for solutions, and we'll try and get to that and more. On with the show now. Some silly stuff.

Audience Member 3
I'll.
Steven Crowder
Ivermectin and methylene blue. I'm just kidding. I mean, it might help, but it's not going to cure anything. Captain Morgan, CEO. How are you?
Joel
Better than you. Sorry, man. I know it sucks.
Steven Crowder
You're the one who gave it to me.
Joel
I did not. That's not true at all.
Steven Crowder
Yeah, you did.
Joel
Sometimes that happens.
Steven Crowder
Well, that's what happens when you spit in my Mouth when I'm not looking. And I don't even know how you did it. The key is to arc. And in third chair today, the funny, funniest man alive. You can see him at the Punchline Comedy Club, Atlanta, Georgia. Then he's going to be at the Rivers casino in Philadelphia, November 6th. November 7th in Pottstown, Pennsylvania. Joel's Comedy Club. Better than you. Like he said. How you feel? What do you get some type of aids?
Steven Crowder
Yeah, could be. All right. Happened when I wasn't looking.
Nick DePalo
Some type of it.
Tennis Player
Yes.
Joel
It's like diabetes.
Steven Crowder
Yeah.
Nick DePalo
AIDS, B.
Steven Crowder
It all falls under the gay umbrella.
Nick DePalo
Type 2. Yeah.
Steven Crowder
Like what kind of age is it? Is the gay ages? Well, they're all gay. It's all gay.
Nick DePalo
Oh, some are needles.
Steven Crowder
Yeah, that's right. Summer needles. But sure. But let's be honest. One in the same.
Nick DePalo
Whatever. Again, just don't. Don't blow a Haitian. Have you choreographer.
Steven Crowder
Well, it's like Ozempic though. You lose weight, right? You said. Oh, I. I've been doing all this work. All I have to do is fillet a male figure skater and I could be. I could be ripped.
Nick DePalo
Geez, you got.
Steven Crowder
Man, I know you're entire.
Nick DePalo
Before I go back to work.
Steven Crowder
Yeah, I'm your. I'm your AI for like. When did I say that? Said that in another senseless killing in Trek.
Nick DePalo
It's all out there, by the way.
Joel
It's freely available.
Steven Crowder
All right. Speaking of love, Islam doesn't got it. It's a religion of hate. It's a religion of power. It's a religion of subjugation. Very different. A lot of people think that Christianity and Islam have a lot in common. We don't. Very, very little.
Nick DePalo
Next subject.
Steven Crowder
But here's a Muslim woman. See if you can spot. Oh, wait, I didn't do the. What was the question of the day? We all sat down.
Store Employee
Oh, yeah.
Steven Crowder
How do you. Let me. Let me ask you this.
Nick DePalo
The Muslim shower.
Steven Crowder
Communists. Should it be death penalty or should it be just like jailed for life?
Joel
Helicopter rights? Yeah.
Steven Crowder
It's chat Thursday, so we're gonna take your chest later on and answer those questions.
Nick DePalo
I got an answer.
Steven Crowder
So Islam. Oh, no. I have the cough drop and it just. It's the one with the gel center. It's all over my teeth like napal. It's like when you eat a pop tart that's too hot.
Joel
Did it to yourself at this point,
Steven Crowder
Jared's keeping the good. Well, the good news is I have Gerald here who can take the mic while I spit this out. Buy me some time.
Joel
I can do it. We're going to talk about this one, by the way. You are right, it is Gabriel. So just to give you that before you go into the restaurant. Is that enough time? Did I do it, by the way? Halls in my office. I told you yesterday, I have a giant bag. It's about the size of me.
Nick DePalo
He likes the ones that squirt on his face.
Steven Crowder
He likes them bitter and murky. All right, here is the Muslim. Here is the Muslim woman in question. This woman is asking those watching if you are actually having a spiritual awakening or if you. If it's just mental illness. If it's Islam, it's mental illness. But let's watch.
Muslim Woman (video clip)
My little brother has schizophrenia.
Steven Crowder
My brother, cousin.
Muslim Woman (video clip)
What's hard about Islam and schizophrenia is the line is so blurry. How do you know you're being suicidal? And when do you know you're actually having a schizophrenia?
Joel
Really high pitched.
Muslim Woman (video clip)
He tells me how hard it is that he feels enlightened because he doesn't know if it is enlightenment, if he feels guided by God or the inbred in his head. Ultimately, it's all in our head. Even me, I don't have schizophrenia.
Nick DePalo
But you sure got a rack on you.
Muslim Woman (video clip)
Awakening. My whole spiritual journey, it has been all in my head.
Steven Crowder
Also just weird. She's doing it from the jungle. I expect the background track to be there's something happening here.
Nick DePalo
She's from the country. Her rack.
Steven Crowder
Yeah, exactly.
Nick DePalo
Am I right? Anybody notice that?
Joel
No.
Steven Crowder
When I saw her, I ran.
Nick DePalo
Can you blame Mohammed?
Steven Crowder
So here's the thing. It's a very blurred line. Yeah, I mean, I guess so. Now we obviously as Christians believe that. We believe in science, we believe that medicine, obviously, Israel. But sometimes it's a manifestation of something deeper. For example, like people can be schizophrenic, but they can also be spiritually disturbed. Two things can be true at the same time with Islam. However, the root of the religion. I don't know if all of you know this, and by that I mean very few people do. When Muhammad created this silly, made up, hateful religion, you know, a big part of it starting was he wrestled in a cave. Like he got grabbed in a cave, right? And he was sure that it was a demon. And he went back to his bra.
Joel
Really? Really sure.
Steven Crowder
Yeah, There you go. You have it right from Hadith. He goes back, he's like, hey, there was this demon in this cave. They Call him Gin with a D. And he goes, there's this. There was this demon. She's like, no, no, that was an angel. He's like, I'm pretty sure it was a demon. She goes, no, it's Gabriel.
Audience Member 2
Go back.
Steven Crowder
And you know. Yeah, you know, just.
Joel
He literally said he thought the play around a little bit, being squeezed out of him and there was darkness and blackness. That was like.
Nick DePalo
Was it Gabriel, really?
Steven Crowder
That's what she said. So here's the question.
Nick DePalo
That's my father's middle name.
Steven Crowder
Here's.
Nick DePalo
Holy shit. Here's the questions a lot.
Steven Crowder
What if she was wrong? Hey, Muhammad, right? The holiest of prophets. I would imagine he'd have to be pretty sharp, if not the sharpest knife in the drawer. One of them at least. Ginsu level. What if Muhammad was right? What if it was a demon in that cave? That's what he was wrestling with, and that's the base of the faith. Maybe he's schizophrenic. Right? That would be a condolence prize. I'd take schizophrenia over it being a demon. Did you know that that's part of the history of Islam? So it's all predicated on one lady being right? Telling the holiest of prophets. No, no, no, no, no. Even though you're well learned and even though you're spiritually in tune with God and the holiest man who's ever lived. You have no idea what you're talking about. It's not a demon. It's an angel. Good enough for me, by the way.
Joel
Do you think that's why he changed the rules later on he's like, listen, I figured it out, but it's too late for that. Let's just make sure that women can't talk anymore.
Audience Member 3
Yeah, pretty much.
Joel
This led us to place, but I'm too far in.
Steven Crowder
I still have claw marks that would make Tucker Carlson blush. No, I don't sleep with dogs. He spent a lot of time in that cave. And by the way, even left behind some. Some cave paintings. Oh, I didn't see all the details.
Nick DePalo
What was he, a ventriloquist? He had a puppet on his lap.
Audience Member 1
It's not.
Steven Crowder
All right, Otto.
Nick DePalo
And Muhammad.
Steven Crowder
Galatians 1:8 says, Even if we or an angel from heaven preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed. Ah, schizophrenia, maybe.
Audience Member 2
Yeah.
Joel
That was pre Mohammed, by the way.
Steven Crowder
Pre Mohammed.
Joel
You would have been familiar with this book.
Steven Crowder
Yeah, you know, but it's all the same.
Joel
Same religion.
Steven Crowder
No. Anything else no, you're the one who's all into the Muhammad and Gabriel.
Joel
I'm not all in. How am I all into that?
Steven Crowder
That's your thing.
Joel
Doesn't mean that. No, not at all.
Nick DePalo
Are you saying it's evil because it's the demon aspect?
Steven Crowder
Well, I think it's a story that's a crazy story. No, it is true. I mean, it's part of their history. But the point is he thought it was a demon, and that was the basis of a lot of his teachings. It's like, hey, maybe he was accursed. He teaches the exact opposite of the Bible. Well, Jesus wasn't who he said he was. And all this stuff about actually loving your enemy and. No, no, actually, it's really just about convert free will. The idea of people willingly accepting God. No, they're going to accept him at the end of my sword. Oh, that sounds like advice from Gabriel.
Joel
This guy was just rejected by everybody. He was rejected by the Jews, he was rejected by the tribesmen out there. He was rejected by anybody in Christianity. And so he went out and formed his own religion. This is not new. This has happened before many times. But we've had the foresight to go, that's not true. Especially when somebody says, well, if you have a question, look to the people of the book. And then later on says, no, I'm sorry. They lied about everything in the book. Was that me that said, take the people of the Book and see if they got answers for you? My bad.
Nick DePalo
I'm sorry.
Steven Crowder
Everything they said before me was a lie because a demon, I mean, angel told me so.
Joel
This woman.
Steven Crowder
Have you seen my new and improved wife? She's six. I have to. I have to make investments for three years. That's what we call compounding interest. But at nine, she's going to be a knockout. All right.
Nick DePalo
Traded her in for a new model, age 6.
Steven Crowder
They invented leasing. Try before you buy, as Nick DePalo says, show me the stat.
Nick DePalo
Everything has to go Christianity.
Steven Crowder
I'm passing the savings on to you. Only other companies that have ever run, right, Foundation Nutrition. Because we have a lot of supplement companies that come out and they want to sell you a false bill of goods. So all the science, all the data, all of the links to published trials are available. You can go to foundationdaily.com we have two things. A multivitamin, where every single dose is listed on the label at its clinically effective, active, studied dose, everything you need, nothing you don't. And creatine, the most studied supplement of all time.
Store Employee
Time.
Steven Crowder
Right now there's a special. If you text foundation to 214936. Foundation is what you text at 214936. 50% off. A bundle of both of them. And if you have perfect diet, exercise, you don't have any aches and pains. Hey, you don't need anything if you want to improve your performance, not only in the gym, but your brain, right? And kind of preserve yourself, age a little bit better as far as neurodegenerative decline. Creatine is a big part of that. There you go. We make it available to you. Not gonna promise you that it's gonna give you wings and don't sue me like they did Red Bull.
Joel
No, it's going to. It's going to take care of Nick DePaulo though. So give him free creatine.
Nick DePalo
It's going to. It's going to improve my. My performance is in bath houses.
Joel
You need no help there, from what I hear.
Steven Crowder
Going to bath houses.
Nick DePalo
Stop it, Father.
Joel
You know the kids need bath assaults, by the way. August 14th, from now to August 14th. That is good, the 50% off, but.
Steven Crowder
All right, do it now. All right, so.
Joel
Or a demon will grab a hold of you.
Steven Crowder
This is something I wanted to talk about for a while.
Nick DePalo
Thank you, Ron.
Steven Crowder
Pick McCarthy. Let me ask you this. What do you know first, what do you know about McCarthyism?
Nick DePalo
He's the House leader, Mike McCarthy.
Joel
That's not so.
Steven Crowder
McCarthy. But I do want to. McCarthyism. What do you know? People say it all the time. McCarthyism, McCarthy. It's thrown around, kind of like fascism.
Nick DePalo
Can I. I'll answer honestly. I read a whole bunch of stuff. Seemed like he was right to me.
Steven Crowder
Yes, and about a lot.
Nick DePalo
And Colter said that too. And she's smarter than me, so.
Steven Crowder
Yeah, and here's the thing. It wasn't just him. He wasn't the one who was right. He was acting based on the information of everyone before him who was right. So let me break this down for you. And by the way, this is a segment where you'll probably want to do a little more digging, a little more research. We make the links, the references available every show in the description. So what do you know about McCarthy? Okay. The term McCarthyism. The left accuses everyone of McCarthyism. You hear it all the time now. And how they define it. We're going to use their sort of colloquial, I guess, description. What they mean to say is McCarthyism is wrongful political prosecution of an opponent or a made up problem. Just used to Oppress or silence political opponents. Do we all agree that's kind of how it's McCarthyism. It's a new McCarthyism. It's a witch hunt. And it's based on the quote unquote myth of the Red Scare. And that was fear, concern of communism and its adherents seizing power therein here in the United States. But let me ask you this. What if this whole myth of the Red Scare, what if it was never a myth? What if it was concrete fact? And you're living the results right now. So if we look back, it's not that hard to see the Commie's tracks.
Joel
Look back in time, see the Commie's
Steven Crowder
tracks, they're saying it's back whispers all across the land. No themes come true within McCarthy and the Reds.
Audience Member 3
Even if there are only one communist in the State Department, that could still be one communist too many.
Nick DePalo
Ted Cruz, everybody.
Steven Crowder
And here, here. So you don't take my word for it. According to the left, McCarthyism is back. And of course, the person who's brought it back, the throwback specialist, Donald Trump,
Muslim Woman (video clip)
the last time that Republicans held on
Steven Crowder
to this idea of communism was McCarthyism.
Muslim Woman (video clip)
And that caused real damage.
Steven Crowder
There are so many parallels and some of them are superficial. Some of them are here. People deploying McCarthy tactics here and there, which people have done for a long time. McCarthy showed what worked. I mean, this is, you know, stuff that is 1984, McCarthyism on steroids.
Audience Member 2
It's unbelievable.
Steven Crowder
But there's combined it with a wave of political repression that is more severe than the McCarthy era. It's a witch hunt. It's McCarthy.
Nick DePalo
Well, you're first on the list.
Steven Crowder
You know, we do unfortunately have a long history of that. The last time we had this kind of somewhere, her stock going up under
Joel
a House red scare or the McCarthy era. We should not be naive.
Nick DePalo
I'll get back to support your administration wants to do.
Steven Crowder
We are in a Senator Joseph McCarthy climate. We need a multicultural coalition of the
Joel
willing to combat the new McCarthyism and this authoritarian agenda.
Steven Crowder
We are living with the legacy of the McCarthy era. And what Donald Trump is doing is
Muslim Woman (video clip)
really resurrecting the worst.
Steven Crowder
That's right. And so McCarthy has been to this day, really painted as the chief villain by who? The left, obviously. Media, Hollywood, education. The media, entertainment, education, industrial complex. But before we get to why they're wrong and why they want to use this term, so they repeat the lie enough as to get you to believe it to be the truth, here is McCarthy himself on communism.
Audience Member 3
One communist on the Faculty of one university is one communist humanity, One communist. Among the American advisors at Yalta was one communists too many. And even. Even if there were only one communist in the State Department, even if there were only one communist in the State Department, that would still be one communist too many.
Steven Crowder
And what a lot of people believe is that he created this blacklist Hollywood. A lot of what you believe is not true. McCarthy did express concern and try to root out communism in the State Department, in the army, a lot of our institutions. To be clear. Now this is not to say this segment, just like last week, on fascism, that McCarthy did everything right. Of course not. But let me ask you this. Did Anthony Fauci, did Joe Biden, did Barack Obama, did they get a lot wrong? Now, I think what's an important metric is did they get more right than they got wrong? And how did they get the information wrong that they did? Did they ignore information that was available to them? Like George Clooney, right? He's one of those Hollywood elite who of course, has dragged McCarthy, hey, has George Clooney gotten everything right, considering that he sits atop his perch from self importance? As you see in Goodnight and Good
Walter Cronkite (clip)
Luck, we will not walk in fear, one of another. We will not be driven by fear into an age of unreason if we dig deep in our history and our doctrine and remember that we are not descended from fearful men, not from men who feared to write, to associate, to speak and to defend the causes that were for the moment, unpopular. This is no time for men who oppose Senator McCarthy's methods to keep silent or for those who approve. We can deny our heritage and our history, but we cannot escape responsibility for
Steven Crowder
the Communists helmed this.
Walter Cronkite (clip)
We proclaim ourselves, indeed, as we are, the defenders of freedom wherever it continues to exist in the world. But we cannot defend freedom abroad by deserting it at home. The actions of the junior senator from Wisconsin have caused alarm and dismay amongst our allies abroad and given considerable comfort to our enemies. And whose fault is that? Not really his. He didn't create this situation of fear. He merely exploited it, and rather successfully. Cassius was right. The fault, dear Brutus, is not in our stars, but in ourselves. Good night and good luck.
Steven Crowder
Ah, yes, of course. It was. It was McCarthy. It was the fear. Lockdown. Lockdown. We need to. We need to round up the unvaccinated or. Hey, you know what? If you don't provide hormone replacement therapy, these people will kill yourselves. They wanted to speak truth. Well, hold on a second. I'll ask you before we get into These details. Look at the enemies of McCarthyism, let's call that the way we should frame it. Anti Communism. They claim they're espousing truth. They claim that they're the ones speaking truth to power. Is that what you're seeing from the progressive left? It's time for claim, truth,
Audience Member 3
All the
Steven Crowder
references available, as we said. Here's the first claim. And it requires all. Yep, it requires all of these for you to accept the current description of McCarthyism. The first claim is that McCarthy started the red Scare. Here's the truth. Of course he didn't. It was already very, very prevalent and he was operating off of the information that was established. Okay. He was part of the second red scare. First red scare, 1917 to 1920, Hollywood blacklist was already happening. Right. 1947, these anti communist laws were already on the books. In 1940, the Smith Act, 1950, the Internet Internal Security Act. 52 was the Immigration and Nationality Act. Democrats even supported the Communist control Act of 1954 because they were concerned about the optics, to be clear, and they had a problem with communists in their ranks. It was passed almost unanimously once people realized the problem. So this idea that McCarthy was the first one to go out and invent the concept of the Red Scare. No, he was operating off of information from institutions that had required legislation.
Audience Member 1
Yeah.
Joel
And it was also something very prominent in people's eyes. You saw Russia, you saw Red China, you had the Korean War in 1950. It didn't come out of nowhere. And it's not the same thing as what was going on in Hollywood. Everybody conflates those two things together as just one thing from McCarthy that's not true at all.
Steven Crowder
And what really does matter too is. Well, hold on a second. This is the ultimate truth that we'll get to. But ask yourself, were there people, were there known communists who were in positions of control or power in these institutions or did they seek it out? The answer is yes, I'll give you names. Here's the next claim. That McCarthy, at least if he didn't start the Red Scare, he over exaggerated, he lied about the communist threat were
Audience Member 2
such outlandish lies that many Americans suspected that there must be some truth to them, since McCarthy was an American statesman after all. And surely he couldn't make such claims if they were all false. But as it turned out, McCarthy was indeed all lies. And in 1954 the edifice of his deceit came crashing down. And that year McCarthy claimed that the army was, was full of Communists and he opened a Senate investigation to prove It. But these hearings were televised and millions of Americans watched and saw for themselves how reckless McCarthy was and how obviously he lied. And as a result, the Senate censured him. And while the anti communist policies of the Red Scare remained in force, the McCarthyist sensationalism of it had come to an end.
Steven Crowder
Here's the thing. Sensationalism or being reckless is not the same as lies or being the root of those lies. Was he reckless?
Joel
Sure.
Steven Crowder
But like a lot of representatives today, they have information handed to them and they maybe don't do their due diligence. Here's the truth. He pounced on the issue. Yes, to build his personal brand. Because of the magnitude of the threat that had already been established. The Venona papers. From 41 to 1980, there were hundreds of thousands of Soviet cables, communications intercepted. Only about 3,000 were decrypted. At least 340, something about 350Americans were found to have direct covert ties to the Soviet Union in very, very concerning positions.
Joel
Imagine if we'd gotten all of them decrypted. How many Americans would be implicated in that?
Steven Crowder
Technology wasn't exactly there. Right? All of these lies. No, no, no. These are the ones that we caught. Let me give you some, some high profile cases, some, some names. Here you have the Rosenbergs. They were they executed for passing top secret nuclear information.
Nick DePalo
They were pushy and annoying too.
Steven Crowder
Yeah, yeah. Alger Hiss, diplomat, and a State Department official proven to have passed military information to the Soviets. So this is an area where you look at, obviously our government was more concerned because these are people who were under their authority. Hollywood, the blacklist is separate. But I will tell you, in many cases that's even more important. It was more difficult to prove. There are some names in Hollywood that will give you pause. You go, oh, it all makes sense now. Here's the next claim that McCarthy. Okay, so maybe it wasn't all lies and maybe, of course, the established institutions and it was well known that communists were a threat, but still, McCarthy, even if he didn't necessarily exaggerate, he railroaded totally innocent people. That's the real crime.
Walter Cronkite (clip)
Named after its most notorious practitioner, the
Steven Crowder
phenomenon known as McCarthyism, destroyed thousands of lives and careers. Okay, here's the truth. This is, it's unbelievably exaggerated. And you never hear about the ones that not just McCarthy, but those concerned with the Red Scare got right. And they are doozies. Let me give you some examples that are exaggerated. Annie Lee Moss, right? She was a civilian Pentagon employee. She's kind of held up as the poster child against McCarthyism. She became famous after Edward R. Murrow profiled her subcommittee testimony. And her testimony did kind of the most that we saw publicly available to discredit McCarthy. It was later proven that she was a dues paying member of the Communist party.
Joel
Oh come on.
Steven Crowder
So the example they point to now you may not be learning this now because what happens, they move the goalpost and they'll pick someone else. But the most high profile case where McCarthy railroaded people, look, he railroaded this dues paying communist McCarthyism. Well if it's a dues paying communist, I'm pro McCarthyism.
Joel
Right. And by the way, the media was so pleased to run the COVID for him on this and say, see, he's going after this poor old woman. Why would he do that? That man? They're doing the same things today. Maryland. Sharing water.
Nick DePalo
Yeah.
Steven Crowder
To give you an analogy, it would be like Nathan Phillips, right? And Nick Sandman, the Native American, when we found out that that guy was a meth head prick. Allegedly.
Joel
This is her by the way. Yes.
Steven Crowder
Yeah, they just sent her in guilty. Speaking of Nathan Phillips. And then we found out that that kid was being entirely peaceful. He was railroaded. Thank God he won his lawsuits. And Nathan Phillips was a serial instigator and professional victim activist. Now swap that with dues paying communists. We did that segment on Kent State. So much of what you believe to be the case is just not accurate. It's the opposite. Does that change your view? Comment below. Here's the next claim that you'll hear. Well, Hollywood was unfairly targeted during the Red scare which was exacerbated by McCarthy
Walter Cronkite (clip)
during the height of the McCarthy era of the late 1940s when any hint
Steven Crowder
of being connected to communism meant being
Walter Cronkite (clip)
the target target of government investigations. Good. The so called Red scare ended careers careers for some and led to jail times for others.
Steven Crowder
The House UN American Activities Committee investigated alleged communist influence in Hollywood. Now just to address that really quickly, the left doesn't believe that being an active communist, meaning someone who seeks to destroy our constitutional republic and enslave other people, they don't believe that those folks should be jailed or face ramifications. Those are the people I do. You guys can comment below. I absolutely do. And I don't think that's anti conservative. I don't think we should allow people to use our systems and freedoms to destroy them. Now here's the truth. McCarthy Like I said, focused on government, army, those departments. But communists absolutely were and they are a problem in Hollywood without A doubt. So at least 300 members of Hollywood entertainment industry, they were active Communist party members in the United States. Active, many of them in positions of power, including and this should be no surprise, the guilds and the unions, which by the way you can see across the country with the labor unions. So let me give you an example. John Howard Lawson, okay? He was the first president of the Screenwriters Guild himself. You've seen all those strikes lately, right? When a lot of the film industry, it's put on hold, it controls the entire industry. He was the first president and he was actively, not only a member of the Communist party involved in propaganda, including by the way, with this guild blocking any type of anti communist content or scripts specifically there's an anti Soviet script, you can look this up. Darkness at Noon. He was the one who blocked it. You know how often you go today like, well, why is the Hollywood so left propaganda? Well, because the systems, the institutions that exist, they ensure that those in charge of the bulk of the industry that's being broken down now, they ensure that leftist propaganda makes it through and accurate, accurate, for example documentaries or historical context is blocked. This man was the president of the Screenwriters Guild. You could argue that that is one of, if not the most influential position in Hollywood. Active communist. Yeah, that changed some context. John Howard Lawson, look it up. Some other examples that wouldn't necessarily be in government. Ben Gold was a president of the International Fur and Leather Workers Union. He was a self avowed communist until his death. And of course he led the strike. Some would say manipulated, which resulted in what the left tells you. Hey, thank us for the five day work week. 40 hour work week. Well, he was a big part of that also. Why did we just, why did we just pick 40 hours and five days?
Joel
Cool.
Steven Crowder
I'm glad that people like to work less. But you do need to know the root of it. Here's another example. Bella Dot founder or one of the founders of what, what Teachers union. So now we've gone through government, we've gone through Hollywood, we're getting into education. Are these the institutions that you're concerned about? You notice some propaganda trends, Starting to understand that maybe McCarthy was right, even if you went about it imperfectly. So Bella Dodd was one of the top members, was the master organizer of the Communist Party. So founder of the New York Teachers Union, master organizer of Communist Party, Led mass infiltration proactively of teachers unions, of educational institutions, seminaries as well.
Joel
That's crazy to me.
Steven Crowder
So let's kind of. Can we just recap this Just going by the names because I think it's important to put names obviously out there. So we have Annie Lee Moss. This is the name that the left points to. Look at her. She was railroad dues paying member of the Communist Party. All right, do we have any other examples? You look at the president of the Screen Actors Guild Union and then you look at one of the founders of the New York Teachers Union who is the master organizer of the Communist Party. And by the way, there are many, many others. We only caught about 300 something as it relates to non government entities. How many do you need? If they are masters of organization, if they are presidents of unions and guilds, how many do you think it takes? How many do you think there are now when people threw out the baby with the bathwater and said, Ah, McCarthy was a dick, he was opposed because he was bombastic. So there's, there's no red scare. Could you draw a straight line from the founders of the teachers unions to the leftism today? Could you draw a straight line from the Communist Party members, ambassadors, master organizers and founders of the teachers unions to LGBTQAIP and equity taught in schools? Critical race theory. The answer is yes. Could you draw a straight line from during a very influential period of time when there was, it was a booming entertainment industry, Hollywood, the president of the Writers Guild and the kind of content we see today where today there is a blacklist. If you're conservative, you don't work in Hollywood. You have to go off into your own cottage industry. That's exactly why you see shows like this today. This only emerged when people who had even a slight right leaning view weren't allowed at the cool kids table in Hollywood. And then the left tried to control that education, in many cases, the military, certainly a lot of our other social welfare institutions, Hollywood, if that doesn't scare you, well, I guess you're illogical. The Red scare was a recognition of patterns that we had seen that were going to lead us down an irreparable destructive path. McCarthy made a lot of mistakes. The people criticizing him have made more. When people say McCarthyism meaning the red Scare, as though it was never a thing, that is incorrect. McCarthyism by their own definition absolutely was right. Communists in this country, if you think that foreign governments, foreign entities, or any type of entities or organizations, groups who seek to destroy the United States of America, if you believe that there's anyone who wants to destroy the United States of America, if you believe that they remain neutral and don't pick sides, you can't believe for Example that we have helped orchestrate coups in other countries where we have tried to obviously quell communism. And this has happened a lot in South America. You can't say, well, the United States has been involved in the CIA and these psyops and, and not believe that communists have been trying to do the same thing to the United States of America.
Store Employee
Right?
Steven Crowder
Here's the difference. We've allowed it. And anyone who tries to tell you that it's not a concern, well, either they are completely ignorant or they're lying to you because there is no case to be made.
Joel
And it's this thing with Hollywood too, where they still have this ability, this long kind of slow march back to it. So if the tactic of a frontal assault didn't work, they're gonna try to come in the back door. And so you remember the movie Trumbo? I, I had never seen that movie before. This was years and years and years ago. And I hadn't studied anything about the, the Red scare or anything like that. And I was like, oh, man, it seems like they, they gave. Really shafted those guys. And you're like, no, look into it. Like, trust me, they're, they're just, they're, they're painting a fairy tale picture of what it was like to make you think these guys were actually the good guys. Right. In Trumbo. And then good night and good luck as well. They're very good at the propaganda behind it. They just wanted to organize and have protected classes of people that are workers to make sure that they couldn't be taken advantage of by their bosses, these evil corporatists, these capitalists that are out there now. Look where we are. People watching movies, that's that cultural drip that we always fight back against.
Steven Crowder
And media.
Joel
It's not an inconsequential thing to look at Hollywood and go, why are they pushing what they're pushing?
Steven Crowder
Let me tell you. Blacklist people use that term. I'm going by road here. But there's a famous quote from Walter Cronkite, who people. And I always say this people believed at one point in time was, my God, an actual journalist. He said that, in his opinion, I believe he said you couldn't be an effective journalist and be anything other than a liberal or not be a liberal were his terms. And he did mean political liberal, as you would know, leftist. Okay. Hey, you want to work as a journalist? Biggest name is Cronkite, by the way. Of course, he would be following lockstep with the other producers. How do you Think you get work, you want to talk blacklist. I sat at a table with Andrew Breitbart and now these people are out of the closet. So I can tell you, but back then, they weren't all David Mamet, Kelsey Grammer, Gary Sinise. There were other people who maybe aren't out of the closet who would maybe surprise you. And everyone had to meet and talk about the opportunities that of course, had evaded them because of their political leanings. And then you see a lot of people whose names you don't know want to talk blacklist. Hey, I'd like to apply for a job, Mr. Cronkite, by the way, I'm not a liberal. Can't do it. You can't be a journalist and be anything other than a liberal while they accuse everyone else of McCarthyism. Be really mindful of it. Don't allow the premise to be set. McCarthyism so that you're arguing from the back foot. Don't be defensive.
Joel
Go.
Steven Crowder
Oh, yeah, the Red Scare, of course, that was a real thing.
Nick DePalo
They think the libs, like Rush used to say, when you have an argument with a lib, they start at the premise they are morally superior.
Steven Crowder
Right.
Nick DePalo
And that's the same what Walter Cronkite said. They have this sanctimony about them that they've cornered the market on the truth. They're smarter than you. And that's never changed. That's the one thing that's been a constant.
Steven Crowder
Yeah, you're absolutely right, George Clooney McCarthy made mistakes. How about you?
Nick DePalo
Yeah, exactly.
Joel
But was he right? There's a quote. We have the quote from Cronkite. It's actually a little longer, but we can read it quickly.
Steven Crowder
Let me bring it up. I think being a liberal in the true sense is being non doctrinaire. Again, I'm looking at a small screen here. Non dogmatic, non committed to a cause. Like Nick just said, being a liberal. And yes, that means Democrat, that means leftist. That just means that you're objective, you're not committed to a cause. You guys feel that way about gender theory. You guys feel that way about climate change. You guys feel that way about the Democrat Socialists of America. Let me keep reading. Reading the quote there, but exclaiming, sorry, but examining each case on its merits. Being left of center is another thing. It's a political position. I think most newspaper men, by definition, have to be liberal. If they're not liberal by my definition of it, then they can hardly be good newspaper men. So they. This is the truth. The left doesn't believe that they have a dogma. Trust the science. Can a biological man become a woman? If they think so,
Joel
I don't know. I'll take everything case by case.
Steven Crowder
Trust the science. Is Florida still there? Well, we get some things wrong.
Nick DePalo
Yeah, they're really, really wrong on the small things, huh?
Steven Crowder
Trust the science.
Nick DePalo
Environment for a thousand years.
Steven Crowder
Trust the science. Wait a second. Are all bodies healthy, including someone 5 foot 1 and 300 pounds? Yeah, all bodies can be just as healthy. Oh, non dogmatic of you. How open minded. Yes, Noodles, I was gonna say this is Walter Cronkite's view on morality as he gives an interview for Playboy. Yes, exactly. I believe this is the. Wait, non dog now, please. I think we'd all benefit from you showing.
Nick DePalo
I only read the articles.
Steven Crowder
By the way, things are actually looking good for commies in the Michigan Senate race. We actually have the Kalshee odds right now. El Sayed has a 58 chance to win. Mike Rogers has a 43% chance. You want to bring up that couch? So there you go. Communists in Michigan and there is llama fascist allies in Dearborn.
Nick DePalo
I just have faith in my fellow Americans to pick up their guns when it's necessary.
Steven Crowder
Wisconsin, not so great for Francesca Hong looks like 40% chance to win, but that could go back and forth and she looks like the Simpsons fish. And by the way, thank you for the raid, Dan. We very much appreciate it. Do we have anything else on McCarthyism that we want to get to or want to go to Tucker and tennis
Joel
broads go to Tucker in just a second. But I just want to highlight something that I think it's very important to go back and look at these cases because they're going to throw these words out and one of them is red scare. Like red scare. They basically say, like, this wasn't a real thing. That that whole red scare thing has been like, ah, you remember that thing where like the sky is falling? That's a basic. Basically how they refer to it. It's like, no, listen, this has been a problem in the United States before. That's obvious. If you're gonna run around yelling about Israeli influence in the government or Qatari influence or Chinese influence or anything else, which.
Steven Crowder
All of which are legitimate.
Joel
Yeah, you have to also go, yeah, there's also a big problem with communists because these guys, they may want to subvert the United States or get money out of the United States. Communists. The end goal is no United States, period. How is that not the same level of threat, if not greater?
Steven Crowder
Well, it's like they say homophobia, right? I've always said this. Like when people say arachnophobia, I go, well, can some of them kill you? Then fine. Is that an irrational fear? Now I understand if you can't, you know, step on a spot on a house spider, but.
Nick DePalo
Oh, is that what that is?
Steven Crowder
They just try and call that though
Nick DePalo
it's fair of people from Iraq.
Steven Crowder
That movie sucked, by the way, too. Ragaphone with Jeff Daniel Iraq, homophobia. Oh, wait a second. I disagree with any form of sexual degeneracy, so I'm afraid of it. Transphobia, Red scare. Let me ask you this. And also people on the right will try and take the patent quote and take it out of context where he said we fought the wrong enemy. Now he wasn't saying that the Nazis were good.
Joel
No.
Steven Crowder
What he was saying was the threat of communism. You know, the whole enemy of my enemy is my friend. He was like, no, not after this war. Because he saw what he viewed as bar, barbaric Asiatics, the Russians and the Communists as the ultimate threat to Western civilization. Once they reach the civilization, we should
Joel
have taken them out right after.
Steven Crowder
We absolutely should. So just take red scare. Arachnophobe, phobia of snakes. Let's say, hey, do you have a phobia of being stabbed? Not do you live in perpetual fear, but do you have a fear of the actual act of being stabbed? I think it's rational. Is the red scare rational? Post World War II? Just. Let's just take Soviet Union, China, Cambodia. You could toss in Cuba, Venezuela, since then, prime examples of communism. You guys know the death count, guys know the toll, right? People who say religion is the cause of all wars. It's not even close distinct enforcement of atheism. Just China, Russia, Cambodia. Conservative estimate would be a hundred million. Let's be really conservative. 60. Could be well over 100 million, I think. Not wanting that to come here. And some could argue the only reason that it didn't is because we have an ocean and we always had a post war boom. I think it's a very rational fear. Red scare. Well, how many people has red communism? How many lives has it taken? 100 million. Why shouldn't I be scared of it? Maybe because people who are telling you that it's an irrational fear, they want to thrust it upon you. I don't know. We'll take your chance on this and more. It's one of those things. I'm still very. That's where I'm old school. As far as I'M pro ending communism wherever it may be, and I am pro snuffing it out here in the United States. People who think that Marxism is no longer a threat. It's all, it's all an offshoot of Marxism. Whether you look at the tolerance of Islam, lgbtq, aip, the Democrat Socialists of America, it all stems from Marxism, Communism. They are one and the same. And it still is the single biggest threat to Western civilization, to your personal day to day freedoms.
Nick DePalo
BLM has the same mission statement.
Steven Crowder
Oh, they agree with it.
Nick DePalo
And yet at Fenway park, there's still a Black Lives Matter BLM sign.
Steven Crowder
Do you think that's because the people on it or do you think some people in positions of authority in the sports league, which is basically an entertainment organization, goes, yeah, yeah, yeah, let's put that in there like the head of the Film Writers Guild, right? That's what it is. It's people in positions of authority. They seize this power.
Nick DePalo
And it's great, isn't it? You're the head of the guild, so you can, you're the head of.
Audience Member 3
You.
Nick DePalo
You can direct your propaganda, you can produce it, direct it, write it.
Steven Crowder
Oh, yeah, you don't think they did that? Hey, what about the Hunter Biden laptop? Just use it as an example. It's not the only one. All of the major intelligence agencies said, yeah, it should be Russian disinformation. That's what it is. Dana Bash's ex husband said that. Oh, how did they all get it wrong? Now imagine all of those institutions thrusting communism upon the American unsuspecting public. That's exactly what you have. Take Black Lives Matter, take lgbtq, aip, take all of it and just apply communism. We are facing the same problem. McCarthy was right and so were the people before him with the Red scare. And there's a reason for the legislation. Now let's go on. This is making the rounds. I am going to tell you to. I haven't been able to watch all of it and I think it warrants obviously as much time as I can spend with it as possible. But we'll address this tomorrow. Last night, after quite a bit of social teasing, Tucker Carlson dropped a video on his 10 point program and the Future of America.
Guest Commentator
We thought it would be useful just to set down the goals of whatever comes next and it'll find all kinds of expressions and hopefully it's better than what we have. But we know it'll be different from what we have because what we have literally doesn't work. It can't protect itself. From the greatest threats in human history. So Here are the 10 things that when all is said and done, America should be and probably has been in the past, but certainly should be. And if you get these right, if you could buy in on these, and it shouldn't be hard because almost everybody agrees with, with these, then you can actually have hope that the system will be more responsive. It certainly won't be suicidal, that the country itself will be vibrant and alive and not dying. It won't be living off its cultural inheritance, which we still are. And it's getting a little lean now,
Steven Crowder
just to be clear. I've heard where I've read a lot of people praising it and then people saying, well, he's a psyop actually, because what he wants to do is take away the most radical elements of the party so that the uniparty can continue to control the United States. Some people have said he's a fed. I don't want to get into any of that. What I will be doing tomorrow is getting into not only is 10 points, by the way, he says that it needs to be fair.
Audience Member 1
Right.
Steven Crowder
The United States need to focus on fair, sovereign, productive, beautiful, health, honest, optimistic, wise, decent, united. Hopefully it's not just rhetoric and political theater. But he says the biggest threat. We'll go through what he identifies as the biggest threats if we agree that they are the biggest threats. And his proposed solutions where he offers specifics and if those are the best ways moving forward, I will tell you right away. What raised an eyebrow for me is a suggestion that the United States pay any, any enemy combatants or sorry, non combatant enemies, people who were killed during war, collateral damage. Because that is effectively opening the door to another form of reparations. Sorry. Doesn't mean that we're perfect. War is war. We can't be the only nation that does it on that kind of a scale. But the rest of it I'll need to get to tomorrow.
Joel
Yeah. So. And I just want a couple of things to keep in mind as you do that. And I know the audience members right now, they're going to watch this if they haven't already. Just look at how he sets this up. There's a couple of premises that I want you to look at and tell me if they are true or not. Tell me if Tucker, maybe this is the better way to say it. Did Tucker provide any evidence of these things? So one of the claims is that the Ukraine and Iran wars will merge into a single war where the United States is now in a hot conflict with Russia, nuclear armed combatants is basically what he's saying will happen here. And one of the reasons he is saying that is because he is saying that the Ukrainians have been selling weapons to Hamas and Hezbollah. And so that implicates so many people in this. And we've known this. We're selling it to the enemies of Israel. Israel knows this, everybody's fine with this. And that's going to ultimately tie these two things together. I'm not sure how he connects that, but he got that from an interview with Victor Bout, the Russian propagandist who came on his show and said the Ukrainians are doing something bad and it should turn Israel and the United States against Ukraine because see what they're doing here. Maybe there's some people in your administration that are complicit, but the American people should know this without providing any evidence for it. It's been fact checked before. I don't always believe fact checkers, don't get me wrong. But he provided zero evidence for it other than a Russian propagandist. And the second thing. And this will tie together.
Steven Crowder
Yeah, one thing. Let me just address that because I want you to have the floor for the second thing. Not only will we look at his claims, but if he doesn't provide any evidence or substantiation for his claims, I am going to look and see if that exists because maybe he just, you know, he was speaking off the cuff. So we'll be as fair as we possibly can. If there is evidence that that is the case, then I want to know and we will present it. So we won't even just be going on Tucker's basis. We'll try and steel man it.
Joel
Yeah. And people did also say, listen, like there are black markets sometimes for these kinds of weapons. We understand that that happens. That people say, but there's no like large scale Ukrainian like plot to sell us weapons. He even said that too, that they were going to Mexico at one point when there was no evidence of that either. And he said it was just an absolute fact and everybody knew it.
Steven Crowder
Is he talking about Fast and Furious, Gun Walker scandal?
Joel
He was talking about that. He was talking about weapons from Ukraine going there. And it's like I just, okay, maybe some evidence would help us. Instead of some random person talking about it, they could be lying, talking. Have you ever thought of that? Also, this is the other one. And he said, because the president of the United States is talking about save
Steven Crowder
it for tomorrow, but go ahead.
Joel
I am, I am using nuclear weapons. This is the premise for this plan, this is like. Because these things are happening. We need this plan. This is what he's saying. He's talking about a text message that said he would wipe out an entire civilization. Have you met Donald Trump? This guy, Everything is either the worst or the best. There is no in between.
Steven Crowder
A text message. I mean Tucker Carlson said that he hated Donald Trump and that his voters were idiots. You that any everyone was an idiot. This is back in the day while he was still claiming to support him publicly. So if you're just gonna go by text messages, Tucker Carlson doesn't believe anything that he said.
Nick DePalo
Yeah.
Joel
So just keep that in mind. That's the foundation of what he says next. That 10 point plan.
Steven Crowder
And I want to steal man it and see if there is any evidence for those things because hey, look, maybe there's some good in there and I'm sure that there probably is. I would imagine that a lot of these people. This is why we've offered, you know, policy prescriptions. I think it's Crowder prescriptions because we tell you, you guys should, you guys should hang us on this, hold us accountable, call us to the mat. It's one thing. And this is a comedy show. That's my background. It's one thing to just go out and bitch. It's another thing to say, hey, here's a way to solve it that requires specifics, that requires holding yourself accountable. So I hope that we see that from him and I hope that people don't just take what it is that they like and ignore some very disturbing proposals that are otherwise in there. And I don't know, I haven't spent enough time with it. I was only able to get through about 20 something minutes thus far because I was in a rush tennis because trans is a thing. And I thought this was settled a while ago where like the 100 something ranked male player beat both Williams. I believe 204th ranked male tennis player beat both Williams sisters. After golfing all day and he was drunk, I think he was smoking too, but apparently not. So here first we have a tale of two different. Two different ones. A dame one's abroad Arena Sabalenka was supporting this new rule to be clear, including biological testing in women's sports. You know, here's the thing. Let's just get rid of that term because the left hates the term biology. Just call it drug testing.
Nick DePalo
Hi.
Steven Crowder
The WTA recently announced that, you know, the players will take a one time gender test.
Audience Member 1
How do you, how do you feel about that?
Steven Crowder
The first pro league to go in that direction.
Tennis Player
I think it's really important to keep the fairness in our tour. And it's obvious that biologically right, the man are way stronger than women. So I feel like it would be not really fair for the woman to compete against biological men.
Nick DePalo
So like to wrestle her and find out.
Tennis Player
I believe it took them a little while to make this decision. And yeah, I, I support it.
Nick DePalo
Support you.
Tennis Player
But for me, I'm focusing on myself, on my goals, you know, whatever it takes. If they want to test us all, I'm happy to do that. It's pretty fair and let's keep it that way.
Steven Crowder
And I want to remain focused on looking like Chechnyan drug lord in tracksuit. I like to play tennis. I also like to party. So that's Eastern European, more traditional. Here's the thing, I will say this. That's not enough. I'll get to the clip of Coco Gauss. It's not enough because women are still going. Well, you know, I have my opinions and everyone has their opinions. Someone needs to go, no, that's absurd. And not everyone has their own opinion on biology. Men have advantages. I'm tired of pretending as though they don't. They shouldn't be competing in women's sports. It's not a thing. Let's stop this. Women need to get to the point of being willing to be disagreeable. And I don't mean women who become professional talking heads on the right. I mean those currently involved with the sport need to communicate. It's this simple. Women, you need to communicate publicly what I know. You communicate privately with like minded women and men. How do I know? Because I've been around you gals in the small groups and then when it comes, well, you know, I mean, of course they're entitled to their own opinion. Okay, we get it. We all know people are entitled to their opinion. You don't have to issue the caveats. You're stupid, you have a dick, next story. But now you got the nice.
Nick DePalo
It's that simple.
Steven Crowder
It really should be.
Nick DePalo
It is that simple. Pull your fucking pants down. Let me see what you got.
Steven Crowder
Okay, you're good to go. I. Oh, you turn your head and cough. You turn around and walk back. Coco Golf responding to the same exact topic. Spot the difference.

I understand the reasoning behind it. I do think that this kind of conversation is created a lot of animosity towards the trans community, which I'm not really a big fan of. But I, I also understand the need to, I guess the biological difference and the need to protect that and preserve that. So I think it's a conversation that is very nuanced. I need to have a nuanced answer. So, yes, I guess kind of agree with trying to protect the fairness in women's sports, but also do not like the attack that it is creating. People who don't really care but just want to use this as a reason to attack the trans community. So I'm not really a big fan of that either.
Steven Crowder
Here's. Okay, how about this? How about a new rule? If someone answers a question and gives you no definitive answer on one side of the equation, they are to be ignored. So, yes, I understand wanting to keep things fair and that's good. But also wanting to stop the persecution. Okay, good. So, brave and empowered woman, what do we do? Well, I understand. No, no, no, it's nuanced. Yeah. What's the answer? What's the answer? Because we need a policy. It's just so silly and it shows you how bad it's become. Because the Williams sisters, who I'm willing to bet, you know, I'm willing to bet that household was not a bastion of Republicanism. They knew the game, they understood the difference. If men are allowed in women's tennis, at tennis, they would absolutely dominate night, they have to cough.
Nick DePalo
I think the William sisters proved that.
Steven Crowder
Yeah, well, so people go, oh, the Williams, they used to point to them like, oh, man, look. Yeah, because they're built like centaurs.
Nick DePalo
Yeah. What. Can I just say one thing? What are they afraid? I understand if you're talking head on Fox and you could lose your job or whatever. What are they afraid of?
Walter Cronkite (clip)
What?
Nick DePalo
What is tennis player going to lose if she.
Joel
Their career, Sponsorship deals and yeah, they'll be right.
Steven Crowder
Think about this. This is the problem, first of all.
Nick DePalo
Well, okay, I don't even know these.
Steven Crowder
Well, this is how pervasive DEI is. Right. In other words, you could be a great tennis player, but if you say the wrong thing because of the DEI policies, the big corporations say, oh, we're going to block you out. We're not going to give you a sponsor.
Nick DePalo
I thought that was illegal since Trump became.
Steven Crowder
It is. Yeah, but the remnants are still there. People being afraid, you know, not the red scare, but the congressional witch hunt of anyone who's conservative. Well, if they did, then they could only need to be ranked 203rd and they'd still beat the women, 203rd ranked. This guy, his name was Carsten Brash, he beat Serena Williams and Venus Williams back to back after he had been playing golf all Day and allegedly was drunk and smoking.
Nick DePalo
Is that. Is that them?
Steven Crowder
Yeah, that's them. And that's him. And he smoked 98.
Nick DePalo
That was a while. Okay. I was gonna say. Holy moly. They look. They don't look upset about it. No, they knew he's got a deal.
Steven Crowder
Here's how you know they weren't upset. Here's Serena Williams at best. People want people who know best of all time, right? The MJ of tennis admitting that she would lose to a man and it wouldn't even be close.
Audience Member 1
For me, tennis and men's tennis and women's tennis are completely almost two separate sports. So I'm like, if I were to play Mandy Murray, I would lose 6, 060 in five to six minutes, maybe 10 minutes, because.
Steven Crowder
No, it's true.
Audience Member 1
It's true.
Steven Crowder
It's a completely.
Nick DePalo
Yeah.
Joel
Dave, honestly, the men are a lot faster.
Audience Member 1
And me and they. They get. They serve harder, they hit hard. It's just a different game. And I love to play women's tennis, and I. I only want to play girls because I don't want to be embarrassed. I would not do the tour. I wouldn't do Billie Jean any justice.
Nick DePalo
Refreshing, isn't it?
Steven Crowder
Liberating Billie Jean thing. When people talk about that, there's a very strong case to be made that that guy threw it. That guy threw it because he stood to make more money on his best.
Nick DePalo
Absolutely.
Steven Crowder
Other guy was ranked 203rd. Beat them both back to back. It wasn'. Here's the difference. Those who are actually excellent and those who understand the reality of Their Excellency, all the discipline, all the hard work that went into it, they know the difference in biology. In other words, it's not like Serena Williams missed something. It's not like the patriarchy put one over on her. She knows because she lost. But this new woman, this new generation, they think it's nuanced. Well, what's nuanced about a drunk beating them back to back, who compared to them, is basically a hobbyist. I thought this was settled because it was until the left said, we got to have a new pet issue. We have to. We have to gin women up. We have to get them.
Audience Member 3
I don't know.
Steven Crowder
Let's just say that actually they were lied to about all the advantages.
Nick DePalo
They should have stayed out of sports because it's the easiest one to prove them wrong.
Steven Crowder
I know.
Nick DePalo
It's the easiest.
Steven Crowder
I know.
Nick DePalo
Wandered into the wrong thing, man. You know?
Steven Crowder
Well, the thing is, I remember when I was doing change my mind. There are Only two genders. You can watch people sit down and go, well, no one's talking about sports. Well, no one's talking about kids. They say, that's a straw man. Oh, that's a straw man. That's a fallacy. I go, this is absolutely happening. It's not severe enough yet, but it will be. They always used to say that. No one's talking about sports, are we? No one's talking about transitioning kids, are we? And here's the other thing. They're tied together. Remember that dipshit Adam Conover? He used to do Adam Ruins Everything? And we did rebuttals on this channel when he was on Rogan, and he said, well, and it's a, you know, it's a very same thing. It's a very nuanced issue. And, and I'm not an expert on it, but especially too, as we see people transitioning younger, you know, like seven years old, then they're not going to have the same advantages as someone who went through puberty. They are tied together because this is how the left justifies transitioning children younger, where they go, well, okay, if there are advantages, let's just do away with those and let them transition before their brain to. In order to stop their body from developing an unfair advantage of being a boy. Let's stop their brain development before their brain is developed. Let's allow them to choose for their body not to develop. How does that make sense? It doesn't. That's Marxism. Oh, I'm sorry, it's the Red Scare. Let's take your chats and go. If you're not a member, then. You know what? Sorry, you're gonna just miss it, but we're gonna go on here for another. Another hour, so. Nickdapa nickdip.com for all of his dates. Tool man, take us away, Sam.
Episode: They Are Lying To You About McCarthyism
Host: Steven Crowder
Date: August 6, 2026
This episode centers on the contemporary misrepresentation of McCarthyism and the Red Scare, arguing that the real danger of communist infiltration in American institutions has been minimized or denied. Crowder and his panel (Nick DePaolo, Joel, others) dissect McCarthy’s reputation, the origins and facts of communist presence in institutions, and examine how cultural and political narratives have distorted these events. Other topics include a critique of gender dynamics in education, Islam, and recent sports controversies about trans athletes.
On Gen Z and Societal Decline:
“A generation of people who are fatter, sicker, and dumber by every objective parameter... How does that happen?” — Steven Crowder (01:43)
On the Narrative About McCarthy:
“This idea that McCarthy was the first one to go out and invent the concept of the Red Scare… he was operating off of information from institutions that had required legislation.” — Steven Crowder (25:36)
On Communist Influence in Institutions:
“John Howard Lawson ... was actively, not only a member of the Communist party, involved in propaganda, including by the way, with this guild blocking any type of anti-communist content or scripts.” — Steven Crowder (32:26)
On Modern Media Bias:
“You want to talk blacklist. I sat at a table with Andrew Breitbart… everyone had to meet and talk about the opportunities that... had evaded them because of their political leanings.” — Steven Crowder (38:29)
On DEI Stifling Speech in Sports:
“If you say the wrong thing because of the DEI policies, the big corporations say, oh, we're going to block you out. We're not going to give you a sponsor.” — Steven Crowder (58:11)

Transgender Athletes in Sports:
53:59–60:45 — Gender testing in women’s sports; Sabalenka vs. Gauff, Serena Williams clip
The episode maintains the show's characteristic politically incorrect, combative, and satirical tone. Crowder’s delivery is irreverent, direct, and often mocks opposing viewpoints. Banter with comedians like Nick DePaolo and Joel intersperses humor throughout even the most serious discussions.
Crowder asserts that the American public has been misled about the Red Scare and McCarthyism, presenting evidence of historical communist influence in government, Hollywood, and education. He argues these patterns persist in today's institutions, shaping cultural values and stifling dissent. The episode is a polemic against left-wing historical revisionism, institutional bias, and perceived moral hypocrisy, and concludes with an insistence on the dangers posed by Marxism and communism in contemporary society.
