I think he's been fine this year.

He's been okay. I'm just curious because that's. That's a dude that I would say was a great pitcher all around. And Miz is. He's got a great fastball.

Jacob deGrom has a 367 ERA and 20 starts this year.

That's awesome. Happy for the man. The trade deadline's getting closer, and I want to say for the record, I do not want the nationals to trade C.J. abrams. That's my final stance on the offer. But you got to pick up the phone.

Price will be very high, a guy like that. But I think I keep going back to like, we traded away. Like, we lost Trey Turner and pretty much everybody that was on that World Series team. You want to get a bunch of prospects that might end up becoming, in your wildest dreams, a C.J. abrams.

You have a C.J. abrams right now. Let's keep him. Granted, our offense is really, really good. He's a. He's a main reason why the offense is good. There are some other guys that I think will probably be made available, try to get some, you know, a decent pitching rotation together for, for next season. But there, There is an outside chance that the Nats make the playoffs this year. I don't know what we do in a wild card matchup with the rotation that we have right now.

And so they ended up trading a bunch of prospects for Juan Soto and they didn't win anything.

I think about that all the time with teams that are like, you know, thinking about firing their gm and then they're like, we're going to bring him back for one more year. Well, this guy now knows that he has to do something drastic in the immediate to save his job so he could do something that ends up screwing your franchise far worse than if you just fired him the first time.

And I always find those, those situations fascinating.

And everyone thinks that I'm a great doctor and a great humanitarian. This is truly a very unusual thing that's happened. But he always talks about, like, the good. Like he gases himself up a little bit in his diary.

If you're fat. If you find yourself in a position that he was fat, that he was in, where he's like going on all these shows and people are saying glowing things about him and the president is meeting with him and telling him great things that must be a little surreal at times. And he writes like an old guy, like going through the Internet for the first time.

Then I went on this show and I'm told that there's billions of people that listen to it and they said, Good job, Dr. Fauci.

Yeah, I mean, he went from like being a. A scientist, a good science, to a celebrity to a celebrity scientist. And now he's documenting that. I need. I think I need to. Let me tap in on the we Fauci files.

They included the entire text of an article that was in, I think, distributed by the Associated Press, where they do mention barstool, but that's not actually in his diary. He's going on a barstool sports podcast, chatted with basketball star Steph Curry, blah, blah, blah, blah. It's very funny because, like Fauci, I think we can look back 2026 if you associate yourself with Fauci, generally regarded as a lib fair. Big T. Yeah. At the time, Fauci was a Republican. I. I got. I got something to share with the class here because I feel like it might be valuable for somebody that's out there listening. I. Because I told you guys a couple weeks ago that I. I had some appliances in my house.

Yeah, pretty much. So let me just run. Run you through the story, because I feel like I have uncovered something that is probably. It's probably been going on for a while. So the other weekend, went. Opened up the crawl space, looked down in the basement area. It's not like a finished basement or anything. It's like a crawl space area. Checked it out. There was about 2 inches of standing water throughout. A fair amount of the crawl space. Basement. Right. Which you never want to see. So I went down there. I. And when I moved it, it started to smell really, really bad. So I was like, oh, there's. This has been here for a while. I don't really make a habit of checking out the crawl space that much, but it had very obviously been there for a while to the point where there was some wood down there that was starting to grow mold on it. So it looked really bad. Go out, get a wet, dry vac, like a shop vac. Take that down to the crawl space, vacuum up all the water. Took about, like, six hours one night. And then went back the next morning to finish it up. Put a dehumidifier down there to really dry it out as much as possible. So trying to figure out what's going on, because I knew that the. The hot water heater was towards the end of its life, so I assumed that if I already knew that that was an issue, that's probably what caused the flooding down there. But I couldn't find anything that showed, like, where the hot water heater failed or where the water was coming from. So it's over the course of a weekend. So most plumbers aren't working over the course of a weekend. Look up an emergency plumber. Emergency plumber comes to the house, Shout

Those guys. They're looking. They're looking around. The guy comes up, he's like, yeah, I don't see. I don't see where it failed. Both the water heaters look like they're intact. So the only thing I'm thinking is it might be the entire furnace air conditioner. It might be a cracked, cracked pan, or the entire system might have failed. I was like, oh, okay. And then he showed me here, the water heater looks good, nothing's broken, etc. Etc. I was like, okay, so we. I. I need somebody to come out.

Well, I asked the guy. I was like, can you fix the furnace? He's like, I can't, but I'll schedule an appointment. Somebody will be able to come out there and tell you how they can fix it. So, new appointment schedule. Guy shows up, goes down to the basement, looks at the furnace area, and he comes back up and he's like, well, I think we're going to have to replace the entire system. I think. I think your entire air conditioning and heating, the entire ensemble needs to be replaced. And we've got a great deal where you can lease it. Where you can lease your entire H vac system. So not buy lease, where you'd be paying. I think it was something like $400 a month for the next 10 years.

And I was like, wait, since what? That's another thing. That's another thing that we're leasing now is like the H Vac system to your house people. We don't own those anymore. Like, so you'd own this thing that was in my house, and then what if I sold my house? And the guy was like, well, then the person that would buy the house would then choose to take over the lease if they didn't, of the H Vac? And I'm thinking to myself, like, if I'm buying a house and somebody's like, hey, just so you know, the H Vac system, you're gonna have to. You're gonna have to rent that. So that's another 400 bucks a month that you'll have to take over. If I was getting a good deal, I'd be like, wait, since when do we rent H Vacs? Like, that would screw up the entire sale of the house, I would imagine, for most people. Plus, that's just kind of a crock of that. Like, another thing that you won't own that you have to pay rent on is.

Can I ask you too, is someone now married, potentially in the market for a house at Some point, but not ex keen on the idea. How often does something break in your house that you have to pay for?

Oh, it depends on the house. Depends on, like if. Because I've lived in houses where nothing really breaks ever because it's new. And then if it's old, if it's like over 10 years, there'll be something that goes wrong.

I would say quarterly is probably more my. My. Mine was, I think 17 years old and. But I did a complete overhaul. So I have a new ac, a new air. Yeah, you gotta make like you get off work and then you just start making phone calls to try to fix everything that's going wrong at your house and then that becomes like your second job. Pretty trash every day.

Yeah, that's exactly what I'm trying to avoid.

Yeah, you want to avoid that at all costs. And what I went through with this thing was the guy came to the house and was like, yeah, we're gonna. You can rent the H Vac system from us. It's gonna cost you 40 grand. Essentially. I had to do the math for him on, um, because like he, he. You're trained to say like 400 bucks a month. And then I was like, wait a second. So that's going to be blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, like close to 50 grand that I'll have to pay for this thing. And then I found out that the guy that was out at the house was not a repair person that the emergency plumbers said that they were sending out. He was just a sales guy. So he was trying to, he was trying to close the deal.

Wait, so did you even get your checked out? Yeah.

[Arian Foster]

So the first guy that came out, he was there to diagnose. Right. And then he diagnosed it, told me it doesn't look like this, it looks like that. Then the second guy that came out, he was the sales guy that was like, okay, this guy's got a flooded basement. We can probably get him to sign up for this leased H Vac system.

[Mad Dog McKenzie]

That's tough. So then that would, that would make me mad.

[Arian Foster]

So then I was like, okay, well, tell you what, send me an option on what you can do to repair the problem with the current system as opposed to installing a brand new one. And he didn't really want to do that. They ended up sending me a quote that would. Seemed like it was pretty reasonable, but it was like pulling teeth to get them to send me a quote for how much repair would cost on it.

Yeah, you might as well just wait till the, to the weekday, right?

[Arian Foster]

So then I get somebody else to come out at the house because they stopped, they stopped responding to anything when I was like, yeah, I'd like to repair it. So they kind of, it was, it was pretty clear that their business is not really repairing stuff as much as it is getting people to just lease new products from them. So then I had a, a different technician come out, look at it, said that there is. There's no crack. It's not the coil. We don't need to change any. We don't need to really do any repairs. It's a problem as it pertains to the air intake from outside the house. All that needs to be cleaned out, filter needs to be cleaned out, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera. So it seems like there was nothing at all that I had to even repair on the inside or replace on the inside. But the Emergency Plumber system is literally just a sales funnel for a company that makes brand new H VAC units to get people to lease. So, like, they're, they're listed and they're labeled. So when you search for Emergency Plumber online, their name comes up, but they're not actually in the. Or they're not actually in the emergency H Vac business.

They're just there because that's a good sales lead. If somebody's got an emergency issue over the course of a weekend, we'll send our guy in there, he'll sell them a new unit, we'll make a lot of money.

No, I'm not even going to say the name of the company because, like, and the people that I dealt with, like on an individual basis, nice people or nice enough people that came out to the house, checked it out, Nuremberg trial. I think the entire line, I think the entire business model is marketing yourself as an emergency H Vac. And then when you get called into places, all you do is just Try to get them to lease a system and pay like $50,000 of the courses.

I think it's a new model. So if you. My bottom line is if your H VAC system breaks over the course of a weekend. And you can wait till Monday.

Sorry. My wife is recently started to get into baseball. We're big Mariners fans and so just on this last broadcast they had the their first round pick asked a bunch of questions and she was really excited and I was like I wouldn't be super excited yet. And she asked why not. I kind of went into how difficult it is to get from the minors to the MLB and kind of went over the different salaries. Looks like you make about 31 to 40 thousand dollars a year until you get into the 40 man roster. So that brought up the question, how long would you stay in the minors until you just up and quit. You hear those stories of guys that stay in the minors for 10, 12 plus years and then finally they make it to the big leagues. But that would be pretty tough to make it all that way. So anyways, just curious, I think I'd probably be somewhere around four or five years and then be done after that. But anyways, stance, stay beautiful.

That's a good question. I love the stories about guys that have played in the minors for like seven, eight years, never got a chance, and then it finally pays off for him because that's, that's the thing in baseball. It's like you're going to ride the bus. Life is not going to be glamorous. Whereas if you're in the G league, I'm sure you're still having a pretty good time as a basketball player. But if you're playing minor league baseball, a lot of times it's, it's not, it's not an easy go.

I think the answer, it's, it's dependent upon what your signing bonus is. So I'm looking at the Mariners draft picks. They, they drafted Ace Reese, 24th overall. His signing bonus was three and a half million dollars. He's got some leeway, you know, if things don't go right, he can tough it out a little more. Now if you're drafted in the 18th round and you have a signing bonus of $1,000, you know, now you, you can't afford literally to, you know, toil in the minors for as long as maybe you'd want to.

What is the most disappointing sporting event you've ever been to in person? Whether that be, you know, a playoff game that was super hyped and your team got killed, or, you know, for me, it's definitely going to be. And this might be a little recency bias, but I went to game one of the NBA first round playoffs. The Detroit Pistons were, of course, the 1 seed, and we lost at home to the AC Orlando Magic. Pretty disappointing. I think everyone was leaving, pretty disappointed, but was just thinking if there's something else out there that maybe you attended a game and, you know, things that really go your way. Quite a few. The one that immediately comes to mind is 20 because disappointing, like, like, I've been to a ton of bad losses, but in terms of, like, real disappointment, like, everything built around. It was 2015. My first game in Neyland Stadium of my freshman year at Tennessee was we played Oklahoma. And 15 was the year that, like, Butch Jones, that was what he had built to. Everybody's like, this team's gonna be really good. And it should have been. We had Alvin Camara and Josh Dobbs and Josh Malone and Juwan Jennings and on and on. Bunch of NFL players. And we played Oklahoma at home. That was Baker. And we were up 17 to nothing. And I mean, the paint was shaking off the building. It was. I've never experienced anything like it to this day. It was the most unbelievable atmosphere at a game I've ever experienced. And we lost in overtime. It was. It was devastating.

It's still a good game though.

It was an incredible game. But. But it was like. And then from there Butch's tenure didn't just kind of kept going like that.

Yeah, that's tough. I mean that's. It's interesting because it was a good game, but the, the mood when you leave the stadium has to be just. Oh, shitty.

I went to game four of the World Series when it was Nat Astros at home in D.C. not a good game. Nobody won at home actually that entire series, depending on which team you rooted for.

There were, yeah, there were no happy stadiums at the end of any of the seven games.

And see, I thought about that with game five, I guess of the Braves World Series because they went up four nothing in the first inning and lost. But like we still won. So it. That takes the sting out of it.

There was also, I mean, I went to the Chiefs Commanders Monday night game this year. That. That sucked. That was just a shitty game to go to. Trying to think what else, what other games I've been to leaving dis. Oh, oh, game seven. Was it 2010? It might have been 2010. 20. No, maybe 2011. Forget the year it was Caps Penguins game seven in D.C. i felt like this is the year that the Washington Capitals finally win the Stanley cup. And then I believe we lost like seven to nothing in game seven.

That was. That was a very shitty environment. Yeah, that was pretty bad. Yeah.

I don't know that I've ever gone to any. I never been to a pro game until I was in one. But being in one, the most disappointing game I played in was the 2012 playoffs. I think that was like, I think maybe the best or one of the best records in the league at the time. And then we had a real good game against the Bengals, first round of playoffs, second round. We got get mopped against the Patriots when we felt like we had the better team. And I think we did, but we got mopped.

on the other end of more that end of the spectrum of disappointing was a few months ago when I went To Tennessee Michigan in the Elite Eight. Our third straight Elite Eight. And we just got absolutely boat raced, just dismantled. And just sitting there with Blutman, which was funny, was just a nightmare.

I mean, yeah, they were the best team. They were way better than us, but.

Yeah, but that's nuts. But again, like, if you go watch the Pro Bowl, I'm laying down if you touch me, for sure. But I'm not attempting to get no extra. No yak.

And those conversations are easier to have over drinks. I don't know if you drink, but if you don't drink, dinner is usually probably a better format for that.

And so although I felt like she was bugging a lot of the times, I just. I just went along with it. And eventually what happened was she came around and was like, yeah, you know, I. You know, he just wasn't the. Yeah, we. Yeah, we know it's all good, and there's no love lost. But she just. In. In your scenario, she just married him. That. I mean, that's a forever thing initially. So. Yeah, at 20, one's different, too. Like, you. You not a grown man, but you.

Let's just work it out so we have the best relationships so that there's peace In a home, that. That would be my first move as a stepdad. And it seems like he didn't do that.

I think a critical piece of information is missing, which is, what does the mom think about this? If she was. If they came up with that list together, I think it's odd that the stepdad would give it to him rather than that kid's mom. I think that's a mistake. But if they're. If they are married and they came up with, like, we have this list of rules. If you're going to live here as an adult, then, like, part of that. It's their house.

It's also, we hear, I think, side of the story too.

Which can become an issue in itself. I always try to parent in mind, knowing that I'm going to have a zoom call with your therapist at 20 to 30. I think so. It's a lot of stuff that has come out before, but what's happened is you've seen a couple clips go viral of athletes talking about how much money they pay in taxes. And then now you see more clipping accounts. Go back to old interviews where athletes are talking about their, their tax situation and now they're clipping those and putting them out again. Because the clipping accounts, because of Musk's X.com they're like, I'm trying to monetize. And this is the trend right now. By the way, I got a message from X last weekend. I think they're getting into the banking game. I saw that X money.

You can access up to $10 million in FDIC insurance. It sounds like.

I think my. The last album I released, a lot of it had production that I made. And so creating art out of thin air is always dope to me. I think creating and crafting art is always a. A really good feeling, especially when it comes out and you're. You're proud of it, you like it and. Yeah, I think. I think that's my.

Yeah. So it's been in. It's been in the shop. I've called the place a couple times, have not gotten a call back from them, so it doesn't make me super confident.

In what's happening right now to the old golf cart, I would say there. So there's a rugby team that I played for in Austin. The Austin Huns was the name of the team, and I played there for six years, I think. Six years sounds about right. When I first joined the team, they had just purchased a plot of land east of 183 in Austin, Texas, and they didn't have their own field. In fact, no team in Austin had their own field. They Would have to rent a field to play games on, to practice on, etc. Etc. So they bought a field with the vision of one day having it be, like, the team's entire complex. So for the first, like, four or five years I was down there, I would go out to the field, help them cut trees down, help them, like, make. Level the field to make it so that you can put sod down. Help them put the sod down. We go out there to cut the grass, like, once or twice a week. And it was on this, like, massive, massive plot of land. Now, that's where they practice every single week. That's where they play all their games. It's the nicest field in Texas to get tackled onto because it's, like, nice, soft, good grass. No, no one else has that type of playing field in the entire state. So I would say probably that because I did put. I put a lot of work into it, but it was mainly I would just show up and somebody would tell me what to do, Then I would do that thing. I found out over the years that I'm not good at figuring out what to do on my own when it comes to building something.

But if you tell me what to do, I will. I will contribute. Also, getting to build that playscape with Blake Bortles down in Jacksonville was pretty fun. We just did that a couple weeks ago.
