And so he goes around, you know, schools talking to advertising and stuff. And he went to one of my daughter's schools, well, my daughter's school actually. And he texted me randomly one day. He was like, he's like, man, I got the sweetest interaction with this little girl. I told him I played in the NFL. And she, she came up to me after I was done talking and she said, my dad was better than you. And he was like, oh yeah, what's your dad's name? She said, arian Foster. He said, oh, well, I mean,
Madeline
that
Mad Dog McKenzie
was a really dope text to get.

Today is Tuesday. It's July 28th, and today's episode is brought to you by Shady Rays. Quick question, guys. How are my Shady Rays? Basically the same quality as the 200 sunglasses that I used to buy. I'm not exaggerating. They feel every bit as premium as the expensive brands that I've owned. I'm gonna go off script and just tell you how I see it because I spend my own money on Shady Rays. Sure, they send us a few samples to the office, but a couple months ago I went on to shadyrays.com and I bought about 200 worth of sunglasses for the summer. Stocked up because it's summertime. I'm going to be traveling around, I'm going to be losing sunglasses occasionally. I'm just going to want to have them on me at all times. And Shady Rays has very affordable sunglasses that feel and act just as expensive as the big guys. If you drop them in the ocean, they'll replace them. If you knock them off the dock, they'll replace them. If you Sit on them on the first day, they replace them. If you leave them on an airplane like I did, they replace them. The crazy part is they're premium sunglasses. They've got polarized lenses that cut the glare hard, durable frames, great hinges, great styles. They look sharp. They don't try too hard though. So go to shadyrays.com get a pair. Get sunglasses lost and broken protection. We've teamed up. This is the best deal that they have. Go to shadyrays.com use code macro get 50% off two or more polarized sunglasses. That's half off when you buy two or more at shadyrays.com try yourself the shades that are rated 5 stars for by over 300000 people shout out shady Rays. They're great. We love them. I personally wear them every single day. Check them out. Shadyrays.com shadyrays.com all right, welcome back to Nano Dosing. It's Tuesday, it's July 28th and we've got Arian Foster live in the studio. It's good to see here.
Mad Dog McKenzie
What's happening baby?
Arian Foster
Not a lot. Not a lot. I, I know that you guys went up to Milwaukee yesterday, saw the, saw the brewers play maybe the most dominant pitching performance through the first three innings that you could ever hope for.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Yeah, it was fun seeing the the Miz live. You know, being a Brewers, long time brewers fan.
Arian Foster
Yeah.
Mad Dog McKenzie
And then now we have one of the best pitchers game seen in a while. Is that, is that too, that's not a big statement, is it?
Arian Foster
I, I, I'd say like one of the fastest pitchers and he certainly got
Mad Dog McKenzie
a lot of non Brewer fans are really quick to I'm going to distinguish the difference between he's a great pitcher.
Arian Foster
I'm going to need to see listen a little bit more before I call him one of the best pitchers right now.
Big T
He's outstanding.
Arian Foster
Yes.
Big T
It will come down to what happens after he has Tommy John surgery.
Arian Foster
Don't say how he comes back.
Big T
No, that's not, that's not, that is a given for guys who throw that hard. It's, it's not fair enough. It's a matter of when, not if.
Mad Dog McKenzie
I don't know enough about baseball to dispute that fact, but it's really fun to have a team to root for when you got somebody like that on the mound.
Arian Foster
Yeah. The human body might not be meant to throw things that fast. I think that's a fair thing to say.
Big T
I would say there's a guy in the major leagues right now who is not A very good pitcher who had a remarkably similar start to his career.
Arian Foster
And who would that be?
Big T
Spencer strider.
Arian Foster
Okay. How's deGrom doing, by the way?
Big T
I think he's been fine this year.
Arian Foster
He's been okay. I'm just curious because that's. That's a dude that I would say was a great pitcher all around. And Miz is. He's got a great fastball.
Big T
Jacob deGrom has a 367 ERA and 20 starts this year.
Arian Foster
Good for him.
Big T
Yeah.
Arian Foster
That's awesome. Happy for the man. The trade deadline's getting closer, and I want to say for the record, I do not want the nationals to trade C.J. abrams. That's my final stance on the offer. But you got to pick up the phone.
Big T
Price is high.
Arian Foster
Price will be very high, a guy like that. But I think I keep going back to like, we traded away. Like, we lost Trey Turner and pretty much everybody that was on that World Series team. You want to get a bunch of prospects that might end up becoming, in your wildest dreams, a C.J. abrams.
Big T
Right?
Arian Foster
You have a C.J. abrams right now. Let's keep him. Granted, our offense is really, really good. He's a. He's a main reason why the offense is good. There are some other guys that I think will probably be made available, try to get some, you know, a decent pitching rotation together for, for next season. But there, There is an outside chance that the Nats make the playoffs this year. I don't know what we do in a wild card matchup with the rotation that we have right now.
Big T
Do you know who the three leaders in OPS in the National League are?
Arian Foster
Oh, let me guess. Let me guess, because I. I was thinking about this today, and I think it's. Is ironic the right word for it? I don't think it's ironic.
Big T
It could be.
Arian Foster
It's. It's interesting.
Big T
Yes.
Arian Foster
Number one. Is it James Wood?
Big T
Yes.
Arian Foster
Okay. James Wood for the Nats. Awesome year so far. Number two. I'm going to guess Juan Soto.
Big T
Yes.
Arian Foster
And then three. Is C.J. abrams.
Big T
Correct.
Arian Foster
So numbers one and three were traded for number two.
Big T
And the team that traded those guys for that guy has none of them.
Arian Foster
Has none of them anymore. Yeah, that was an all time rental that the Padres had. I think, God bless them. Their owner was about to pass away and their owner was like, I want to take a shot at winning a World Series. We're all in. There's never been more of a win now mode.
Big T
Yeah.
Arian Foster
And so they ended up trading a bunch of prospects for Juan Soto and they didn't win anything.
Big T
I think about that all the time with teams that are like, you know, thinking about firing their gm and then they're like, we're going to bring him back for one more year. Well, this guy now knows that he has to do something drastic in the immediate to save his job so he could do something that ends up screwing your franchise far worse than if you just fired him the first time.
Arian Foster
True.
Big T
And I always find those, those situations fascinating.
Arian Foster
True. And we've got, we've got a young gm, young manager. I like where their head's at right now. Made a trade over the weekend with the Braves. Traded Kirtis Mead from Australia to the Red Sox.
Big T
Not the Braves.
Arian Foster
Sorry, not the Braves. The Nationals. I'm still talking about the Nats.
Big T
Yeah, yeah, they traded with the Red Sox. Not the Braves.
Arian Foster
Oh, the Boston Br. Yeah, Boston Red Sox. To get a left handed arm. I like. It's interesting. There's a lot of teams out there that are like that, that might not strictly be buyers or sellers, but a little bit of both. And the Braves, what are the Braves going to look to pick up?
Big T
Need arms. Lot arms.
Arian Foster
Yeah.
Big T
Any arms you can find.
Arian Foster
Bring them all down to Hotlanta.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Yeah.
Arian Foster
And the Brewers. Buyers?
Voicemail Caller
I don't know.
Mad Dog McKenzie
I lost interest when you guys stopped talking about the Brewer, so.
Arian Foster
Oh, sorry. So the brewers, your favorite team.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Yeah.
Arian Foster
What positions are you looking to upgrade at the deadline?
Mad Dog McKenzie
That's interesting. I think we could always use another stick. Like a big stick. I think that's probably our biggest, like our, our, our style of play is we chip away to death. You know what I'm saying? Single, single, singles, double.
Arian Foster
Single.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Yeah. Small. Is that what it's called?
Voicemail Caller
Yep.
Mad Dog McKenzie
I think that's our, our, our biggest strength. But also that's what disappeared last year in the playoffs. So I think they, if I was them, I don't know, I would probably address that like some, Like a bigger hitter. Like a big hitter. I know Yelich is. I think he's hurt right now. Or they arrested him.
Arian Foster
He's always got something, that guy.
Mad Dog McKenzie
That's my guy though.
Voicemail Caller
Yeah.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Yeah.
Arian Foster
But.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Yeah, that's what I would do. I don't know. I'm not a gm though.
Arian Foster
There was a guy, he was a manager. He was a catcher a long time ago, but he's a manager for the, for the Angels. He believed in small ball as a principal for manufacturing runs. His name is Mike Sosha. So I, I instead calling it small ball. I call it Socialism, which I feel like you would get behind.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Absolutely.
Arian Foster
Your democratic socialist.
Big T
How old is Mike? Social now?
Mad Dog McKenzie
Socialist.
Arian Foster
Gotta be in his late 60s.
Big T
67.
Arian Foster
There we go. Have you been reading Fauci's diary?
Big T
A little bit.
Arian Foster
I love that Fauci kept a diary. Like, what, Boys think I'm cute.
Big T
Loves himself.
Arian Foster
Yeah, he does. He does talk a lot about himself.
Mad Dog McKenzie
How did we. How did we. I have not looked into this at all. How did we get this? He released it.
Big T
Rand Paul, right?
Mad Dog McKenzie
Yeah, Paul has it. And he found his diary in an
Arian Foster
investigation into the entire Covid thing.
Mad Dog McKenzie
And he. And. And as Fauci said that. Yeah, that's. That's.
Arian Foster
Oh, yeah, it's. It's his diary.
Mad Dog McKenzie
It's his diary.
Arian Foster
It's officially his diary. And he keeps a detailed log because as all this was happening, he talks about the different shows that he was going on, talks about his meetings with the president.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Okay.
Arian Foster
And at one point, he just talks about his day. He's like, I walked across the street and two people gave me a thumbs up and I'm being asked to take pictures with everyone. And everyone thinks that I'm a great doctor and a great humanitarian. This is truly a very unusual thing that's happened. But he always talks about, like, the good. Like he gases himself up a little bit in his diary.
Mad Dog McKenzie
I mean, you're not going. Most diaries do that. No.
Arian Foster
If you're fat. If you find yourself in a position that he was fat, that he was in, where he's like going on all these shows and people are saying glowing things about him and the president is meeting with him and telling him great things that must be a little surreal at times. And he writes like an old guy, like going through the Internet for the first time.
Big T
He's okay.
Arian Foster
Then I went on this show and I'm told that there's billions of people that listen to it and they said, Good job, Dr. Fauci.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Yeah, I mean, he went from like being a. A scientist, a good science, to a celebrity to a celebrity scientist. And now he's documenting that. I need. I think I need to. Let me tap in on the we Fauci files.
Arian Foster
We don't have too many scientist celebrities, so if you find yourself amongst that
Mad Dog McKenzie
group, it's like, I guess the most notable render was right now is Neil DeGrasse Tyson.
Voicemail Caller
Yeah.
Arian Foster
What have you read in the. In the diary?
Big T
Big T. I just read some snippets. I do have here some. Some word counts from the diary. Have you seen the word counts?
Arian Foster
Do you know how to do a search through the diary.
Big T
No, I didn't go into the whole.
Mad Dog McKenzie
How many pages is it?
Voicemail Caller
It's.
Arian Foster
It's a lot. Because I'm curious if he talks about part of my take.
Big T
I don't know about. Pardon? My take. The award. The word award appears 80 times. Hero 49.
Arian Foster
Okay.
Big T
Instagram 36.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Yeah.
Big T
Bobblehead 23. He loved the bobblehead entries with the headed press 641. N95 appears once. Cost benefit appears once. School closure appears twice. Natural immunity appears twice.
Arian Foster
Okay, I need to.
Big T
And here's. Here's my thing. If, like, his text came out, right, and he was texting his friends, like, man, this is crazy. Like, people love me. Like, okay, that's. You know, you like yourself, but that's. You're telling someone else, this guy who's keeping a diary, writing this stuff to themselves.
Arian Foster
I don't know. It must have been. It must have been a weird time for him. It's unusual, the position that he found himself in.
Voicemail Caller
Right?
Big T
That is true.
Arian Foster
He did seem to talk quite a bit about all the nice things people were saying about him. Oh, Here we go. March 18, 2020, press conference. I was featured heavily in the presser. I did Fox with Laura Ingram, Sean Hannity Radio. Barstool Sports Podcast.
Big T
That's really in there.
Arian Foster
Yeah. Part of my take is listed as Barstool Sports Podcast.
Big T
Wow.
Arian Foster
Let's see what he says about us here. New York City and State are facing Sophie's Choice regarding personal protective equipment. Had a phone call with Mayor Major de Blasio. I think that was probably supposed to be mayor. He wrote Major, do we have anything else about the. The podcast that he went on that day, what he thought about the line of questioning that we had for him? He. That's as far as he writes about us. So rather unremarkable. Barstool Sports Podcast.
Big T
Could have been anyone.
Arian Foster
Could have been any of us.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Yeah. So do we have any smoking guns?
Big T
No.
Mad Dog McKenzie
I would venture.
Voicemail Caller
Yeah.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Or else that would be.
Big T
He did. He wrote in his diary that the mortality rate was much lower than he came out and said publicly. And there was. There was one other thing that he wrote in his diary differently than what he said. So there were a few things that he was knowingly lying about.
Arian Foster
I don't think that we're going to get any closer to finding out.
Big T
Oh, he said the thing about the. About the lab. He said that the wet market was clearly an amplifier. Is that what he said?
Mad Dog McKenzie
That it wasn't the source source, but an Amplifier.
Big T
I believe that's what it was.
Arian Foster
Yeah. So. But. But I don't think that there's anything new about the origins of the virus.
Voicemail Caller
Right. Not.
Big T
Not. You know, I mean, it's his diary. It's not concrete.
Voicemail Caller
Yeah.
Big T
Evidence.
Arian Foster
We're never going to find out exactly what happened. Oh, here we go. Fauci's newfound fame can be partially attributed. Oh, this is just an article from. They included the entire text of an article that was in, I think, distributed by the Associated Press, where they do mention barstool, but that's not actually in his diary. He's going on a barstool sports podcast, chatted with basketball star Steph Curry, blah, blah, blah, blah. It's very funny because, like Fauci, I think we can look back 2026 if you associate yourself with Fauci, generally regarded as a lib fair. Big T. Yeah. At the time, Fauci was a Republican. He had served under many Republicans. I got the request for Fauci to come on from the office of the Vice president, Mike Pence.
Big T
Wow.
Arian Foster
So it was. This was not a lib thing to have Fauci on the show at the time. It was like, this is the office of the Vice president. And I was like. And somewhere in my head, I was like, first of all, I was very high when I got the email, and it freaked me out because I was like, if the Vice President's reaching out to us to try to get a scientist on our stupid sports show, this virus sounds like it's very scary and we're all gonna die. And I was like, for my country, I'll have to have Fauci on.
Big T
Here's the quote from January 26, 2020, of Fauci's diary. It now appears, using EPI data and genomic data, that the first infection was in early December and was not connected to the market. The infection spread among people weeks before the Chinese reported that they were dealing with a new infection. And that gave the virus time to establish itself in multigenerational spread. Now we know the market was not the source. It was the amplifier.
Arian Foster
Okay.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Does he say what the source is?
Big T
No, not. At least not in this snippet.
Arian Foster
Yeah, we got a big show coming up on Thursday. I hope you guys tune in for that. Great guest. Aaron flew up here and not just to go to the Milwaukee brewers game, but also to take part in the interview. Look at God, though, you know, but look at God.
Mad Dog McKenzie
When I. When I fly up, the Miz is pitching.
Arian Foster
Yeah, yeah, Big T, you're trending right now in the United States.
Big T
Wow.
Arian Foster
Pretty cool.
Big T
Sure.
Arian Foster

We're gonna do some voicemails today. So do you guys want to get to those or is there anything specifically you'd like to discuss today? Going once, going twice. Voicemails.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Yeah, we could go voicemails.
Arian Foster
Sounds like there's something on your mind area.
Mad Dog McKenzie
No, I think I have a, a gripe with Love island, but I don't think it's not that interesting.
Arian Foster
See if you can, if you can wedge it in to respond to one of the voicemails.
Madeline
There's a lot of love based voicemails.
Arian Foster
There we go.
Mad Dog McKenzie
I might have to just. Oh, piggyback.
Arian Foster
What do you think about Lebron? Your guy Lebron, he left Bronnie. He's like, hey, can you take care of my kid? I'm going out to the store for milk and cigarettes. Never coming back, never coming back. Now you got Bronnie.
Mad Dog McKenzie
That, that, that will be interesting to see how they, you know, handle it because. Does he make it through training camp? Do they keep him on the roster? I don't know. Maybe he just had a respect for LeBron. I don't know. I don't know that he's ever going to be like a starter in the NBA. Um, but yeah. What was he?
Voicemail Caller
I don't know.
Arian Foster
What do you think about LeBron's fit with the Sixers?
Mad Dog McKenzie
That's always. Anytime a lot of superstars join together on a team, you always have to have patience at the beginning to see how they gel, because you could have the best players in the world play together, but if they don't play together. Yeah, it might not. It might not mesh. Now, I would assume Bron trying to get one more before he, before he get out of here. I would assume he would take on the more of the facilitator role and, and just score when he has to, but it'll. It's gonna be interesting. Good, good, good television. You know, he held up the whole NBA to make a decision for a reason. So, yep, here it is.
Arian Foster
Can I tell you my way too early prediction? I don't think that they're going to win a title this year.
Mad Dog McKenzie
I don't think so either.
Arian Foster
I think it's going to be out in round two, similar to, to the first year with Miami Heat.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Oh, you think it makes it to the Finals?
Arian Foster
I, I don't know if it's going to go that far or not, but I'm just saying, like, there's going to be. They're not going to be a dominant team the entire year. It does take a while to agree.
Mad Dog McKenzie
I hope you don't play autumn games. I was talking to Big T about that yesterday. Don't play all like you. No, we want to see you in the latter part. I don't want to see. I don't want to see you grind 82 games. However many games are on now.
Arian Foster
Who cares if Joel Embiid also is playing in like early November?
Mad Dog McKenzie
I think that's going to be. That's why I think they, they probably get bounced in round two. That's my prediction.
Arian Foster
Yeah. By who?
Voicemail Caller
I don't know.
Arian Foster
I did see Cleveland. That'd be something. I saw. DraftKings did a, a simulation. They ran a simulation of the season. I don't know how many thousands of times. Number three seed out of the east, your Washington Wizards.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Season ticket holder.
Arian Foster
Season ticket holder.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Yeah, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm gonna hit you up on that. I'm gonna go to D.C. this, this, this season.
Arian Foster
Let me know when you're there.
Mad Dog McKenzie
I will absolutely do that.
Arian Foster
You have to get dressed up as a Wizard. That's free tickets.
Mad Dog McKenzie
What kind of wizard?
Arian Foster
They're courtside, like feet on the wood. You're directly behind the wizard's bench. Okay. I will give you the tickets for free.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Okay.
Arian Foster
You have to get dressed up as a wizard.
Mad Dog McKenzie
What kind of wizard?
Arian Foster
That's dealer's choice. Not KKK wizard. That's the only rest, my brother.
Mad Dog McKenzie
I won't be doing that one.
Arian Foster
You may not get dressed up in a hood. Any other wood. Yeah. Name a wizard. What are you thinking?
Mad Dog McKenzie
I'm sure there's. Is there any inconspicuous wizards that don't have silly get ups?
Arian Foster
Oh, like undercover wizards?
Mad Dog McKenzie
Yeah, like wizards that don't want to be found out.
Arian Foster
Oh, like when? What's it like? If Merlin was like going as a disguise, as a peasant.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Yeah. If you had some Chuck Taylor's on.
Arian Foster
Yeah, you can do that. Those are my only rules though. Big T. You also have standing offer if you're ever in D.C. thank you. Let me know if you're visiting.
Big T
I do like dc.
Voicemail Caller
Yeah.
Arian Foster
You go on a tour of the. You go to the museums yet?
Big T
I've been to most of them.
Arian Foster
I think it's a good place.
Big T
Yeah, it's a good time.
Arian Foster
Don't come in the summertime. It's too hot.
Big T
I've been in the summer. It's hot. Yeah. I'm from where it's hot though.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Yeah.
Arian Foster
They call it a swamp for a reason.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Harry Dredson, the Chicago wizard detective from the Dredson Files, famously wears jeans and a leather jacket and a T shirt.
Arian Foster
Okay. Oh, like a greaser.
Mad Dog McKenzie
That's what it said.
Arian Foster
You look like John Travolta.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Yeah. I've never seen the. The Dresden. Dresden Files, but if he just. If he's chilling, that's. I'm coming that as. As that wizard.
Arian Foster
Okay. Mad Dog McKenzie. You guys also have open invites if you're ever in D.C. and want courtside tickets to Wizards game.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Just like John Travolta and Grease Lightning.
Arian Foster
Yeah.
Big T
What's your ideal amount of games to get to this year?
Arian Foster
My goal or ideal goal? I have a goal. Five games.
Big T
Okay.
Arian Foster
I think I can make it to five games.
Big T
You bought 40.
Arian Foster
I did. Correct. Yes. Now that's five regular season games.
Big T
Sure. Playoffs. You'll be all over it.
Arian Foster
I gotta have my feet on the wood for the playoffs as much as possible.
Big T
Yes.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Oh, I didn't even know you get playoff. There's playoffs too. I thought you had to rebuy them.
Big T
You have to pay for it, but you get them.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Oh, and you're saying when they make the playoffs.
Arian Foster
When they make the playoffs. Exactly, exactly. I was. I was in the back of my mind, I was like, what if LeBron just decides to become a wizard? And then I would. Did you see so much money.
Mad Dog McKenzie
You see that Twitter account that was. Is LeBron 6 or yet? Yeah, that was magical.
Arian Foster
Yeah, he's. The last time he posted was what like 2018?
Big T
Yeah, I read that it was the most likes of any tweet ever by a non verified account. It was at a million last I saw.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Yeah, it was. That's an impressive.
Arian Foster
Yeah, yeah.
Mad Dog McKenzie
He woke up at the. That's fire.
Arian Foster
Doc, we got just one other thing in college football news. Big T. I was hoping to get your take on this. UNC's football team is being investigated by the College Sports Commission. This comes on the heels of the program's football general manager, Mike Lombardi being placed on paid administrative leave by the university on Monday morning following a human resources complaint filed by a former football front office employee.
Big T
Yeah, they have a lot going on over there.
Arian Foster
What do you. What are your thoughts about. You would see football season?
Big T
It seems the marriage might not be going swimmingly. Also, they need to learn when to drop news like that. Monday morning, not the time Friday. Yeah.
Arian Foster
Yeah. They had their chance last week, right?
Big T
Yeah. Not a good situation. I'm dubious that they will have a great year, but we'll see.
Arian Foster
The problem is, I think I feel like Mike Lombardi might have been the guy that would have made the decision on when to drop the news. He would. He's the guy that knows to drop it on the Friday before weekend. I guess they should have consulted a weekend, but Yeah. I don't know what. What he's under investigation for or whatever
Big T
it was stemming from an HR complaint.
Arian Foster
I'm gonna need the Tar Heels to win a couple games this year.
Big T
Why is that?
Arian Foster
Because it'd be interesting. I didn't like it last year when they became kind of a non story and got Bill Belichick coaching a college team. I would like for them to be like week in, week out. I would like for them to be a threat to win a few games.
Big T
Yeah, I'm not singing it.
Arian Foster
Maybe not. And then we got Big Ten media day. It's really all week here in Chicago.
Voicemail Caller
Yeah.
Mad Dog McKenzie
I don't even know who's in the Big Ten anymore. Who's in the Big Ten?
Big T
Everyone that used to be. Plus Maryland, Rutgers, Washington, Oregon, usc, ucla.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Damn. Okay.
Arian Foster
A lot of teams and the pet.
Mad Dog McKenzie
What happened to the Pack.
Big T
Well, they're trying to rebrand it now. They're. They're putting some, like. I think Fresno State is in the pack. 12.
Arian Foster
There were only two teams last year.
Big T
Yes. Washington State, Oregon State.
Arian Foster
Two pack. Yeah.
Big T
Now it's Fresno State.
Mad Dog McKenzie
So Oregon's in the Big Ten now.
Big T
Correct.
Mad Dog McKenzie
So does the Civil War mean less now?
Big T
I think they still care, but. Oh, you can't call it that anymore, by the way.
Mad Dog McKenzie
What's it called?
Big T
I forget. But they're not rebranded. They don't call it the Civil War.
Arian Foster
The War of Northern Aggression.
Big T
I don't think they call it that either.
Voicemail Caller
No.
Big T
Boise State, Colorado State, Fresno State, Gonzaga, Oregon State, San Diego State, Texas State, Utah State, Washington State are now in the pack.
Mad Dog McKenzie
That makes sense, actually. Those group together. Better than USC and Oregon.
Big T
Yeah. That's pretty much most of the. The old Mountain West.
Voicemail Caller
Yes.
Mad Dog McKenzie
You're mad at that. Where's New Mexico?
Big T
Conference usa.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Because they were in the.
Big T
Is that right?
Mad Dog McKenzie
What was that called?
Big T
Or.
Mad Dog McKenzie
That was the whack. And then they moved to the Mountain.
Big T
Are they in the Mountain West?
Mad Dog McKenzie
They were in the Mountain West. I don't know if they are now.
Big T
I think New Mexico State is in Conference usa. New Mexico is in the Mountain West. Yeah.
Mad Dog McKenzie
New Mexico wasn't. I don't know what it is now.
Big T
Shout out Brian Erlacher.
Arian Foster
That's right.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Shout out to Brian Erlacher. Put a bill on him.
Arian Foster
Nice.
Big T
Yeah, I have a Brian or lacquer. New Mexico Jersey.
Arian Foster
Have you. Have you thought anymore about what to do with the jerseys?
Mad Dog McKenzie
I have not. I've had a lot of people reach out to me, hey, I want to buy this. I want to buy that. I want to buy this.
Arian Foster
I bet.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Yeah. I got. I got a flat offer of 100k.
Big T
Really?
Voicemail Caller
For everything.
Arian Foster
Just take the whole thing off, no questions asked.
Big T
That's not a. That was the starting point.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Yeah.
Big T
That's not a bad offer.
Arian Foster
Well, I think you can do better.
Big T
Well, that's what I'm saying. I mean, if you can. If that. That was the first offer.
Mad Dog McKenzie
And then my mom was like, don't you dare sell those jers. I'm like, what I'm gonna do with them.
Arian Foster
I. I think it's interesting because I had the same reaction that your mom and a lot of people I think would. It's like, that's. Those jerseys tell a story of a time in the NFL.
Mad Dog McKenzie
It. It is a era for sure. Like when you see all the running backs I exchanged with and you see, like, you know, the receivers It's. It's a. Yeah, it was a time for sure. It's an era.
Arian Foster
Where I'm at in my head with it, Aryan, is I know that you're not a big, like, memorabilia guy. Like, the physical reminders don't mean as much to you as the actual memories. All that stuff.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Those are fading too.
Arian Foster
But. But I'm thinking, like, there might be one time in your life maybe 30 years from now when you want to look at those. And it's like, I feel like I have to protect your ability to do that in 30 years when you feel, oh, let me go show my grandson, like, the jerseys that grandpa got when he was in the NFL. I want to protect your ability to do that if. If you ever even have the smallest inkling. So that's. That's where I'm coming from. That's why I don't want you to sell them.
Mad Dog McKenzie
I feel that you're protecting my. My lineage.
Arian Foster
Yeah, I appreciate that. Might be nice to see grandpa's jerseys.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Odds are he ain't give a about it. Just like my. My kids don't even give a about
Big T
it one day, since they're too close to it, though.
Mad Dog McKenzie
That's true. That could be.
Voicemail Caller
Yeah.
Arian Foster
One day in school, like, your grandson's gonna have a classmate that's like, my grandpa could beat up your grandpa, and he's gonna be like, actually, no, that's not true. Let me show you my grandpa's jersey collection.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Let's tell you that story.
Arian Foster
How many Ray Lewis jerseys is your grandpa?
Mad Dog McKenzie
Let's say that story about Martellus Bennett, he was speaking at. You know, he's done amazing things after. After he retired, he. He. He like
Voicemail Caller
art.
Mad Dog McKenzie
What is it called? Animated. Whole animated kid series show. He's, like, done all kind of artistic, and so he goes around, you know, schools talking to advertising and stuff. And he went to one of my daughter's schools. Well, my daughter's school, actually. And he texted me randomly one day. He was like. He's like, man, I got the sweetest interaction with this little girl. I told him I played in the NFL. And she. She came up to me after I was done talking. She said, my dad was better than you. And he was like, oh, yeah? What's your dad's name? She said, arian Foster. He said, oh, well, I mean, that was a really dope text to get.
Big T
If you sell those, though, you owe Gerard Mayo. Whatever. He got fined for giving you that jersey.
Mad Dog McKenzie
No, fuck Gerard Mayo. That's my guy. But no, hell no. That Was. That was. You know, we.
Big T
He stuck his neck out for you.
Mad Dog McKenzie
He did, actually, yeah. Because apparently they don't really do that. They didn't. I don't know what they do now, but they didn't. Didn't really do that.
Big T
He took on Belichick.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Belichick and Craft. He said it was coming from the upstairs. Upstairs.
Big T
Yeah. You owe him. Whatever. He got fined.
Mad Dog McKenzie
If you do be all right, you know, he'll be.
Arian Foster
I. I got. I got something to share with the class here because I feel like it might be valuable for somebody that's out there listening. I. Because I told you guys a couple weeks ago that I. I had some appliances in my house.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Break down your car.
Arian Foster
No, no, that's. The car's doing great.
Madeline
Your water heater, right?
Arian Foster
Yeah, pretty much. So let me just run. Run you through the story, because I feel like I have uncovered something that is probably. It's probably been going on for a while. So the other weekend, went. Opened up the crawl space, looked down in the basement area. It's not like a finished basement or anything. It's like a crawl space area. Checked it out. There was about 2 inches of standing water throughout. A fair amount of the crawl space. Basement. Right. Which you never want to see. So I went down there. I. And when I moved it, it started to smell really, really bad. So I was like, oh, there's. This has been here for a while. I don't really make a habit of checking out the crawl space that much, but it had very obviously been there for a while to the point where there was some wood down there that was starting to grow mold on it. So it looked really bad. Go out, get a wet, dry vac, like a shop vac. Take that down to the crawl space, vacuum up all the water. Took about, like, six hours one night. And then went back the next morning to finish it up. Put a dehumidifier down there to really dry it out as much as possible. So trying to figure out what's going on, because I knew that the. The hot water heater was towards the end of its life, so I assumed that if I already knew that that was an issue, that's probably what caused the flooding down there. But I couldn't find anything that showed, like, where the hot water heater failed or where the water was coming from. So it's over the course of a weekend. So most plumbers aren't working over the course of a weekend. Look up an emergency plumber. Emergency plumber comes to the house, Shout
Mad Dog McKenzie
out to those Guys, shout out.
Arian Foster
Those guys. They're looking. They're looking around. The guy comes up, he's like, yeah, I don't see. I don't see where it failed. Both the water heaters look like they're intact. So the only thing I'm thinking is it might be the entire furnace air conditioner. It might be a cracked, cracked pan, or the entire system might have failed. I was like, oh, okay. And then he showed me here, the water heater looks good, nothing's broken, etc. Etc. I was like, okay, so we. I. I need somebody to come out.
Voicemail Caller
And.
Arian Foster
Well, I asked the guy. I was like, can you fix the furnace? He's like, I can't, but I'll schedule an appointment. Somebody will be able to come out there and tell you how they can fix it. So, new appointment schedule. Guy shows up, goes down to the basement, looks at the furnace area, and he comes back up and he's like, well, I think we're going to have to replace the entire system. I think. I think your entire air conditioning and heating, the entire ensemble needs to be replaced. And we've got a great deal where you can lease it. Where you can lease your entire H vac system. So not buy lease, where you'd be paying. I think it was something like $400 a month for the next 10 years.
Voicemail Caller
Okay.
Arian Foster
And I was like, wait, since what? That's another thing. That's another thing that we're leasing now is like the H Vac system to your house people. We don't own those anymore. Like, so you'd own this thing that was in my house, and then what if I sold my house? And the guy was like, well, then the person that would buy the house would then choose to take over the lease if they didn't, of the H Vac? And I'm thinking to myself, like, if I'm buying a house and somebody's like, hey, just so you know, the H Vac system, you're gonna have to. You're gonna have to rent that. So that's another 400 bucks a month that you'll have to take over. If I was getting a good deal, I'd be like, wait, since when do we rent H Vacs? Like, that would screw up the entire sale of the house, I would imagine, for most people. Plus, that's just kind of a crock of that. Like, another thing that you won't own that you have to pay rent on is.
Big T
Can I ask you too, is someone now married, potentially in the market for a house at Some point, but not ex keen on the idea. How often does something break in your house that you have to pay for?
Arian Foster
Oh, it depends on the house. Depends on, like if. Because I've lived in houses where nothing really breaks ever because it's new. And then if it's old, if it's like over 10 years, there'll be something that goes wrong.
Big T
Like monthly. Quarterly.
Mad Dog McKenzie
I would say quarterly is probably more my. My. Mine was, I think 17 years old and. But I did a complete overhaul. So I have a new ac, a new air. I just redid the whole thing because I didn't want to move, which I probably should have just moved, but. So it's pretty. It's in good shape now. New, new systems, all of that. But there's always. It's always something. It's always, you know, like. Like my. My urinal stopped working one time. I had to call the plumber out.
Big T
I don't think most houses have those.
Arian Foster
I love that he's got a urinal.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Yeah, it's pretty cool. Angles, the.
Arian Foster
The vents.
Mad Dog McKenzie
That's one thing that I'm probably horrible at. And we're all gonna get mesothelioma one day is I'm bad at changing the
Arian Foster
vents, the filter and filters. Yeah.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Yeah. I'm bad at that. I could barely be better at that just yet. Little. Especially if you have children. That makes it way worse. Will always break. And then a dog, a brand new.
Arian Foster
Yeah.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Dog will always break and tear things. But as far as, like.
Voicemail Caller
Yeah.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Something's always gonna go wrong.
Arian Foster
It's.
Voicemail Caller
It's.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Since I had the new, you know, the revamp of it, like the remodel, it's been better, but I think you just.
Voicemail Caller
Yeah.
Mad Dog McKenzie
You definitely plan for it. Don't go wrong.
Voicemail Caller
Yeah.
Arian Foster
Yeah. I would say. Yeah. Once a quarter and some of the stuff you just kind of ignore.
Voicemail Caller
That's.
Arian Foster
That's true. Right.
Mad Dog McKenzie
We call those broken windows in our houses.
Arian Foster
Yeah.
Mad Dog McKenzie
So like, you know, like those. Those abandoned buildings have broken windows. After a while you just. It comes a. Becomes a part of things that you're okay with.
Arian Foster
Yeah.
Big T
So quarterly, you're looking at what, like. Like a thousand dollar deal?
Mad Dog McKenzie
No, I don't think. No, I don't think that it's small things. It'll be like a 200 here, a 300 here.
Arian Foster
No, no, this.
Big T
That's fine.
Arian Foster
This furnace, AC, H vac, that's a big deal. That's like.
Big T
Right.
Arian Foster
One of the most expensive things that can. That can break down in your house. So a pool.
Mad Dog McKenzie
I Got a pool. Yeah. Now that shit'll be. Something always wrong with that. Yeah, something always wrong with that. But it is, it is a. What's something that brings people together?
Arian Foster
Community.
Mad Dog McKenzie
It is, it is, it is an attraction. An attraction. Yeah. So we do like, you know, pool parties, hot tubs, when you, you have a long day out, of course. Or you know, if you ever, I don't know, if you feel like working out and that, that hot tub that could, that could save and change your life.
Big T
You have an outdoor hot tub.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Outdoor hot tub.
Big T
And you go out there in the summer.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Oh, yeah, it's amazing because the pool will be hella cold.
Big T
Right.
Mad Dog McKenzie
And so just for a little change of pace, you get in a hot tub, then it gets clearly too hot. You know that feeling when you dip in a cold pool? You get to have that again. It's nice.
Arian Foster
Yeah, there's. There's a lot of advantages to buying a house, but if you, if you get stuck with a lemon where everything's breaking down, it does become like a second full time job that you have
Mad Dog McKenzie
never heard of a house being called a lemon.
Arian Foster
Yeah, you gotta make like you get off work and then you just start making phone calls to try to fix everything that's going wrong at your house and then that becomes like your second job. Pretty trash every day.
Big T
Yeah, that's exactly what I'm trying to avoid.
Arian Foster
Yeah, you want to avoid that at all costs. And what I went through with this thing was the guy came to the house and was like, yeah, we're gonna. You can rent the H Vac system from us. It's gonna cost you 40 grand. Essentially. I had to do the math for him on, um, because like he, he. You're trained to say like 400 bucks a month. And then I was like, wait a second. So that's going to be blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, like close to 50 grand that I'll have to pay for this thing. And then I found out that the guy that was out at the house was not a repair person that the emergency plumbers said that they were sending out. He was just a sales guy. So he was trying to, he was trying to close the deal.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Wait, so did you even get your checked out? Yeah.
Arian Foster
So the first guy that came out, he was there to diagnose. Right. And then he diagnosed it, told me it doesn't look like this, it looks like that. Then the second guy that came out, he was the sales guy that was like, okay, this guy's got a flooded basement. We can probably get him to sign up for this leased H Vac system.
Mad Dog McKenzie
That's tough. So then that would, that would make me mad.
Arian Foster
So then I was like, okay, well, tell you what, send me an option on what you can do to repair the problem with the current system as opposed to installing a brand new one. And he didn't really want to do that. They ended up sending me a quote that would. Seemed like it was pretty reasonable, but it was like pulling teeth to get them to send me a quote for how much repair would cost on it.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Yeah, you might as well just wait till the, to the weekday, right?
Arian Foster
So then I get somebody else to come out at the house because they stopped, they stopped responding to anything when I was like, yeah, I'd like to repair it. So they kind of, it was, it was pretty clear that their business is not really repairing stuff as much as it is getting people to just lease new products from them. So then I had a, a different technician come out, look at it, said that there is. There's no crack. It's not the coil. We don't need to change any. We don't need to really do any repairs. It's a problem as it pertains to the air intake from outside the house. All that needs to be cleaned out, filter needs to be cleaned out, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera. So it seems like there was nothing at all that I had to even repair on the inside or replace on the inside. But the Emergency Plumber system is literally just a sales funnel for a company that makes brand new H VAC units to get people to lease. So, like, they're, they're listed and they're labeled. So when you search for Emergency Plumber online, their name comes up, but they're not actually in the. Or they're not actually in the emergency H Vac business.
Voicemail Caller
Okay.
Arian Foster
They're just there because that's a good sales lead. If somebody's got an emergency issue over the course of a weekend, we'll send our guy in there, he'll sell them a new unit, we'll make a lot of money.
Mad Dog McKenzie
And you publicly asking for the fade, Is that what this is?
Arian Foster
No, I'm not even going to say the name of the company because, like, and the people that I dealt with, like on an individual basis, nice people or nice enough people that came out to the house, checked it out, Nuremberg trial. I think the entire line, I think the entire business model is marketing yourself as an emergency H Vac. And then when you get called into places, all you do is just Try to get them to lease a system and pay like $50,000 of the courses.
Mad Dog McKenzie
You're just calling out the.
Arian Foster
I think it's a new model. So if you. My bottom line is if your H VAC system breaks over the course of a weekend. And you can wait till Monday.
Voicemail Caller
Well, wait.
Arian Foster
Wait till Monday and then call a local person, somebody that, you know, beware. And then get them out there. Yeah, beware of them. Because I feel like this. They probably make a lot of money on that. Because if you're. If your shit's flooded, people will pay whatever it takes to get rid of the problem in that moment.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Agreed.
Arian Foster
You know, like, if. I don't know why dentists don't charge more money because I haven't been to
Mad Dog McKenzie
the dentist in maybe like four or five years. Yeah, it's about that time.
Arian Foster
But when people do go to the dentist, like when you end up going back.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Yeah, it's this year. It's. Yeah, it's this year. I gotta go.
Arian Foster
But chances are you're gonna wait until there's something wrong. A lot of people wait till there's something wrong.
Mad Dog McKenzie
That's the problem.
Big T
I'm confused by what you said. He just answered your question.
Arian Foster
What?
Big T
Why. Why don't dentists charge more money? People would just not go.
Arian Foster
But I'm saying when they do go, they usually go because something's wrong.
Big T
Sure.
Arian Foster
And they're in pain. And if you have tooth pain, you'll pay whatever it takes to get some
Mad Dog McKenzie
of the worst pain alive.
Arian Foster
Yeah.
Voicemail Caller
Yeah.
Arian Foster
Like, they're essentially holding your mouth hostage.
Big T
I mean, they're. They're making money.
Arian Foster
Yeah, they're doing.
Big T
Dentist is a hell of a business to begin.
Arian Foster
Yeah. They're doing pretty good, them and anesthesiologists. Really well paid.
Big T
I assume so.
Arian Foster
Yeah.
Big T
That's kind of the most important person you got if you're going in for. For a surgery.
Arian Foster
Yeah.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Yeah.
Arian Foster
You don't want to. You don't want to skimp on a. The person that knocks you out.
Big T
If I told you that one could be a 10 and one could be a six of your anesthesiologist and surgeon. Which are you taking your chances on?
Arian Foster
What's the operation for?
Big T
It's. It's what I had. It's an elbow surgery.
Arian Foster
Left elbow. I'd go. I go sick surgeon.
Big T
I think so, too.
Arian Foster
Ten anesthesiologists. Yeah. Raise my left arm for.
Big T
I mean, imagine waking up.
Arian Foster
No, that does happen.
Big T
I'd have a panic attack.
Arian Foster
Yeah.
Big T
Let alone the pain, you know, I
Arian Foster
wonder how frequent that is, because I've heard stories.
Big T
I can't imagine. That's terrifying.
Arian Foster
All right, you guys want to do some voicemails?
Mad Dog McKenzie
I do want to do some real quick. This LeBron thing. And something I forgot to mention that Big T mentioned to me that it has to go on. Like, he wants to live in New York and he's gonna commute by helicopter.
Arian Foster
Yeah,
Mad Dog McKenzie
we gotta stop this.
Arian Foster
I don't love it. I don't love it. And it's mostly because I feel like that just makes your entire life kind of a pain in the ass. Imagine how much time you're gonna be spending commuting.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Fuck all that. Sometimes you just gotta address the elephant in the room. We need not our basketball superstars to enter into helicopters.
Arian Foster
Agreed. They're dangerous.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Bron, I don't know if you know what I'm saying. We've met. You know, let's not do. Let's not. Let's not do that.
Arian Foster
Mm.
Big T
Also, I was saying to Arian, like, living in New York, when you have that much money, like, I'm sure you can have the sickest place in Central Park West. Like, I'm sure his place will be unbelievable. But, like, there are still a bunch of inconvenient things about living in New York, regardless of how much money you have. Like, at some point you've got to go outside.
Arian Foster
I would agree. Yeah. So how far away from the helipad is he going to live?
Big T
Right.
Arian Foster
Because even that, like, if you need to get down to Philly, you need to get to the river to take off. Then you have to battle traffic. No one makes traffic go away. It doesn't matter how rich you are. If you're living in New York City, you got to go cross town at, like, 4 o' clock in the afternoon. We're all. We're all fighting the same cabs. It's not going to be any faster for you. Unless he just bikes. Maybe he'll just bike.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Need not that to happen either.
Arian Foster
No, that's also. That's way more dangerous, actually. Yeah.
Big T
In New York City. Yeah.
Voicemail Caller
Probably. Yeah. Yeah.
Arian Foster
It's not. I just think that'd be a shitty life to. To have to fly in a helicopter to all your games from a city. Like, you're living in a place where you don't play.
Mad Dog McKenzie
It's just a big. What's the helicopter ride from New York to Philly?
Arian Foster
I think It'd be about 40 minutes, maybe less.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Man, we just need nothing. That need not happen.
Big T
Yeah.
Mad Dog McKenzie
That doesn't Gotta do. We don't gotta do that.
Arian Foster
Maybe he's gonna have a drone, like a one man drone that just picks him up.
Mad Dog McKenzie
That's bad.
Arian Foster
Yeah, I agree.
Voicemail Caller
I agree.
Arian Foster
Let's do some voicemails.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Let's do it.
Arian Foster
How's that sound?
Madeline
Can I ask one more thing?
Arian Foster
Yes.
Madeline
Pft. What do you. We can cut this if this is like, too weird, but what do you think the commander's coach getting let go with no further comment means?
Arian Foster
Oh, I think he got a dui.
Madeline
Interesting.
Arian Foster
I. I read that. Yeah, he got. He got arrested for DUI back in June and I guess either didn't say anything or it just worked its way through the. Through the system. But yeah, I think it was just. He was. He was a new hire as a tight ends coach.
Madeline
Yeah.
Arian Foster
And so I think, yeah, I got a dui. And they're like, no, we can't. We can't be doing this. Tony Romo got a dui or. Excuse me.
Madeline
Owi.
Arian Foster
Owi over the weekend.
Mad Dog McKenzie
That's right.
Arian Foster
And I. I did not realize that the state of Wisconsin had a different law for first timers. So it's like a civil fine.
Voicemail Caller
Okay.
Arian Foster
The first time you get.
Mad Dog McKenzie
So was he driving or was he like, on a jet ski? Driving.
Arian Foster
Yeah, he was driving. So I guess. I don't know, somebody was making joke that, like, if they had real DUIs there, the entire state wouldn't be late allowed to drive. But. Yeah, but Wisconsin, they've got like, it's a slap on the wrist for your first time, unlike most other states, which is like, yeah, drunk driving, not good. Don't do it. It's a real crime.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Yeah, don't do that.
Arian Foster
Don't do it. All right.
Madeline
Okay. Voicemails.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Yep.
Arian Foster

macrodosing this is Pete from Walla Walla, Washington. Question for you.
Arian Foster
I want to hear somebody from Philadelphia say Walla Walla, Washington. Can we, is there any way that we can make that happen?
Madeline
Get Connor Griffin in here. Oh, he doesn't have an accent.
Arian Foster
How would they say Washington?
Madeline
Or they say like Wawa?
Arian Foster
Yeah, Wawa Washington. All right, back to the voicemail.

Sorry. My wife is recently started to get into baseball. We're big Mariners fans and so just on this last broadcast they had the their first round pick asked a bunch of questions and she was really excited and I was like I wouldn't be super excited yet. And she asked why not. I kind of went into how difficult it is to get from the minors to the MLB and kind of went over the different salaries. Looks like you make about 31 to 40 thousand dollars a year until you get into the 40 man roster. So that brought up the question, how long would you stay in the minors until you just up and quit. You hear those stories of guys that stay in the minors for 10, 12 plus years and then finally they make it to the big leagues. But that would be pretty tough to make it all that way. So anyways, just curious, I think I'd probably be somewhere around four or five years and then be done after that. But anyways, stance, stay beautiful.
Arian Foster
That's a good question. I love the stories about guys that have played in the minors for like seven, eight years, never got a chance, and then it finally pays off for him because that's, that's the thing in baseball. It's like you're going to ride the bus. Life is not going to be glamorous. Whereas if you're in the G league, I'm sure you're still having a pretty good time as a basketball player. But if you're playing minor league baseball, a lot of times it's, it's not, it's not an easy go.
Big T
I think the answer, it's, it's dependent upon what your signing bonus is. So I'm looking at the Mariners draft picks. They, they drafted Ace Reese, 24th overall. His signing bonus was three and a half million dollars. He's got some leeway, you know, if things don't go right, he can tough it out a little more. Now if you're drafted in the 18th round and you have a signing bonus of $1,000, you know, now you, you can't afford literally to, you know, toil in the minors for as long as maybe you'd want to.
Arian Foster
I wonder what the longest anyone's ever spent in the minor leagues is with, without getting called up.
Big T
The Braves had a guy a year or two ago who had been in the minors for. It was well over a decade, had never appeared in the majors and they got him, they got him up for a couple games and he got a
Arian Foster
hit and you know, according to the search, John Lindsay spent 16 seasons in the minors before debuting with the Dodgers in 2010 at the age of 33. That's crazy.
Madeline
I'm also seeing Mike Hussman played 19 seasons in the minors.
Big T
I know that name.
Madeline
And has damn the all time record of 433 minor league home runs.
Big T
That's where I know that name from.
Arian Foster
He should be in the hall of Fame.
Madeline
I mean that he was part of the Atlanta Braves organization.
Big T
Really.
Arian Foster
If you've been in the minors long enough to hit 433 home runs without making it to the big leagues, that you love baseball more than anybody on earth.
Big T
Yeah.
Arian Foster
You were truly like the biggest fan. Married, you must be married to the game. A lot of it probably has to do with your home situation too. Oh yeah.
Mad Dog McKenzie
You clearly don't have kids.
Arian Foster
If you're single, no kids. You could probably stay in the minors for a long Time. If you're married, I think even the most ride or die spouse at some
Mad Dog McKenzie
point would be like, come on, dog.
Arian Foster
Can, can we buy a house somewhere? Like, is that okay?
Big T
And by the way, that's back when guys were not making $40,000. That's a very recent development. Those guys were making 10 grand.
Arian Foster
Yeah, yeah. You gotta really, you gotta love baseball to do that. Joe Strong, 16 years after being drafted before his major league debut, he appeared for the Florida Marlins in the year 2000 at age 37. His path took him to Japan, Mexico, China, and then back to the US the guy that they made a movie about where they had Quaid, Dennis Quaid played.
Big T
His name. Don't say his name. It's. The movie is called the Rookie. He plays for the Tampa Bay Rays. And his name, it's the same name as the former University of Miami baseball coach. But I believe they're different guys and the name is
Voicemail Caller
nobody.
Big T
What's the first initial?
Arian Foster
J.
Big T
I can see the movie. He coaches the Owls. That's the high school team. They're yellow.
Arian Foster
Tell me about the phone call.
Big T
Good phone call. Yeah. That's one of my top two, you know, clothing, professional sports call up moments in film and television. His name is Jack Morris.
Arian Foster
Is his name very close? Jim Morris.
Big T
Jim Morris.
Voicemail Caller
Son of.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Yeah, Jack Morris is funny.
Arian Foster
Yeah, Jim Morris. Jack Morris was the pitcher for the Tigers. Yeah. Maybe the Twins too.
Big T
Yeah, yeah.
Arian Foster
Blackjack. Blackjack Morris was there.
Big T
Jack.
Arian Foster
I feel like it was Blackjack Morris.
Big T
Hang on. I also think I had it wrong about the Miami baseball coach. His name is. No, yeah, his name is Jim Morris.
Arian Foster
Okay.
Big T
And I think it's a different guy anyway.
Arian Foster
But yeah, you have to be, you have to be very committed if you want to. If you want to be a minor league baseball player for any period of time. Really. I can't imagine the food situation's very good either.
Big T
Yeah, guys always talk about that. They say when big leaguers come on a rehab, they, they buy food for everybody and that it's way, way better than what they usually get.
Arian Foster
Do they still do buses?
Big T
Oh, yeah.
Arian Foster
The whole team does the bus.
Big T
Yeah.
Arian Foster
Yeah. It's interesting that the NFL doesn't really have an equivalent that's taken shape yet. A farm club. Yeah, I mean, they've tried with the, the ufl. It's college football xfl, obviously.
Big T
Which is why the NFL pisses me off when they go out of their way to, to ruin calendar. And the college playoff has to be on all the. Like you get this ready made labor Force that you have to spend no money developing training.
Arian Foster
Yeah.
Big T
And they have media exposure, like, built in. Like, it's the greatest thing the NFL could ever get, and they still go out of their way to college football.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Yep.
Arian Foster
Also, Roger Goodell is going to get a. A contract extension, so.
Big T
Oh, congrats to him.
Arian Foster
He's going to make about $40 million a year.
Mad Dog McKenzie
He's already making 40 million.
Arian Foster
He does a good job of his job. I'm not saying that his job is of great importance to us as a society, but he does a very good job in terms of making the owners happy, and that's literally all he cares about.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Bottom line, baby.
Arian Foster
Yep. All right, next. Voicemail. Oh, I'm sorry. 64 million for Roger Goodell.
Big T
Boy.
Arian Foster
Yeah.
Mad Dog McKenzie
A year.
Arian Foster
Yeah.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Yeah.
Arian Foster
Us now he's got incentives and stuff that contribute to the. But $64 million a year. God damn it, Roger. That's got a.
Mad Dog McKenzie
It's a hell of a gig.
Arian Foster
That's a great job.
Mad Dog McKenzie
It's a hell of a.
Arian Foster
How does one. How does one become NFL commissioner? You know, I have a prediction. I think Bobby Wagner is going to be NFL commissioner.
Mad Dog McKenzie
That's my doubt. I think.
Voicemail Caller
Yeah.
Mad Dog McKenzie
I mean, that's the best.
Arian Foster
I think that's. That's what he wants to do.
Big T
Why would the owners want a former player?
Arian Foster
He. He will be a former player. Yes, but he will also. He's. He's signaling a little bit that he'll play ball. Like, he. He sees the big picture in the NFL pretty clearly. So it's. It's a fair point, though. I think the owners would probably be less likely, less inclined to. To vote for a guy that was a player because he might be seen as, like, you know, biased when it comes to the CBA negotiations. But I feel like Bobby Wagner is doing and saying all the right things to put him in line to one day potentially have that as a possible job. Keep an eye on it.
Big T
That's all. Interesting.
Voicemail Caller
What's up? Macrodosing family. My name is J.C. i am from the Washington, D.C. area. My question for you guys today is what determines what makes you think, or rather, what makes you take a leap of faith? What do I mean by that? Is what do you. What entices someone or you guys to take a leap of faith on yourself to do. To change your life, to start a new chapter or to begin a new relationship or take a step forward in your relationship? I'm at a crossroads in my life at this time because I met someone that was really beautiful in Chicago fairly recently. I met her three years ago, but we reconnected this year and we started taking some steps forward. I went back there this year to go to another music festival with her, and she's actually came back over here to the D.C. area to hang out with me. She didn't meet my parents before, so at this point, there's nothing really. I've been in Virginia my entire entire life. I want to go try something new. Chicago seems like a great place for me to start a new chapter. Maybe even go back to grad school as well. Let me know what you guys think. She's amazing. She's. She's beautiful. She's funny and she's hilarious. She's got along with. Well with my parents, even my little sister. And she's someone that, like, rarely gets along with anybody. So. Yeah, I mean, let me know what you guys think. Aryan, I look up to you tremendously. I. You inspire. Your wisdom is in such. So inspiring to me, and I hope you do many great things in your life and keep inspiring me and other. Other people. Thanks and have a good one. Bye.
Mad Dog McKenzie
That was kind.
Big T
Nice.
Arian Foster
Nice guy. I mean, it sounds like this guy's just describing being in love.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Yeah, I think he's just.
Arian Foster
Yeah, I think you're in love, big dog.
Voicemail Caller
Yeah.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Embrace that.
Arian Foster
Yeah.
Voicemail Caller
Yeah.
Arian Foster
Congratulations on. On being in love.
Mad Dog McKenzie
The first time he described it, he said she's relatively beautiful,
Big T
but then he.
Mad Dog McKenzie
He circled back and said she was beautiful.
Arian Foster
Yeah, he didn't want to. He didn't want to sound like a simp.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Yeah.
Arian Foster
But then he was like, ah, you know what?
Mad Dog McKenzie
I'm beautiful.
Arian Foster
I'll say she's beautiful. She likes my family. They like her. Willing to change my life for her. Yeah, it sounds like he's in love.
Big T
Yeah, it sounded.
Madeline
He.
Big T
He was like, yeah, I'd love to move to Chicago. Like, do this, that and the other. Like, I don't know what it.
Mad Dog McKenzie
He's like, what. What entices somebody to take a leap of faith like that? That's a big change from him, I'm guessing.
Big T
But he was saying, like he wants. Wants to.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Yeah, I. I mean, I would say
Big T
sound like he just wanted somebody to tell him to do it.
Mad Dog McKenzie
That's what you looking for affirmation or validation?
Arian Foster
Okay. For your decision.
Mad Dog McKenzie
You sound like you've already made, but
Arian Foster
he also kind of sounds like he's like bragging a little bit about not. Not in a bad way. I'm saying, like, he's. He's excited. Yeah. So excited to the Point where he's calling up a podcast to tell us about the situation.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Yeah.
Arian Foster
Because he's excited. I think that that's the answer to his question. It's like if you're excited about the possibilities that are going to happen in a new city and about the opportunities that might open up.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Yeah.
Arian Foster
Then that is a good time to move. That's a good time to take advantage of those things.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Yeah.
Big T
Yeah.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Let me. Let me play devil's advocate just because that's where my. That's where my mind goes. Things could work out beautifully and you guys could live the rest of your life together and that would be amazing. And I hope that's the case. Cause like you say, you sound like you're in love, Big dog. But if I'm packing up to move to another city and I don't know nobody there and it's for. Does he know somebody? I don't think. I think. Yeah. Just her.
Big T
Right.
Mad Dog McKenzie
So if it's just her, then your entire life is in that new place is contingent around Yalls relationship. I would just err on the side of caution. And it's really. It's really good relationship advice in. In general is you have to build a life outside of her or else if, you know, I don't want to jinx it.
Big T
Right.
Mad Dog McKenzie
But if something was to happen, people change. Things happen. That. That doesn't break you to the point of like, you know, no end where it can get bad because like that your memory of the new place is just her. It's just her.
Arian Foster
Right.
Mad Dog McKenzie
So you have to build a life outside of that while you're here. I have a life with you, with your lady. And like I said, I offer that advice to people in relationships all the time. You have to have a life outside of your relationship to continue to grow, to continue to find yourself. And I think that will increase the longevity of a relationship. I think it can help and it also increase the. It'll soften the blow. If anything was to have. You know what? I still got people out here. I still got friends out here. I can, I can land on my feet if some bad happened. I know that's a bad way to live. But that's my go to is like if it. If it don't, I operate in the. In the reality of happens, man.
Arian Foster
I think that's. Yeah. It's a fair thing to take into account. If you're like packing up and moving
Mad Dog McKenzie
everybody.
Arian Foster
Which worst case scenario.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Yeah.
Arian Foster
You want to have. You want to have an idea what worst case could Be. Doesn't mean that you think it's gonna happen.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Yeah, I think it's. I think it's rational.
Arian Foster
Yeah.
Mad Dog McKenzie
I think it's rational.
Voicemail Caller
Yeah.
Mad Dog McKenzie
But they. Yeah. I mean, it sounds like you love. I've been in love, man.
Voicemail Caller
Yeah.
Arian Foster
The answer to the question is you're in love. Congrats. Congrats on being loved. Now's a good time. Sounds like you're excited for the move. Have fun.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Absolutely.
Arian Foster
But Arian's right. Have. Diversify your interests a little bit.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Yeah.
Arian Foster
Have some things that. That if. If the worst case scenario happens, at least you've got this. This iron in the fire.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Yep.
Arian Foster
Got some possibilities.
Voicemail Caller
Yeah.
Mad Dog McKenzie
You got a fantasy football team that you go to every summer.
Arian Foster
Yeah.
Mad Dog McKenzie
To build with or some like that. I don't know.
Voicemail Caller
Whatever.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Golf, whatever. Yeah, whatever you into, man.
Arian Foster
Have something. All right, next voicemail.
Voicemail Caller
What's going on? Mike from Detroit, Michigan calling in interesting hypothetical. I just wrapped up part of my take and was thinking as Big Cat was talking about his Cubs losing to my Detroit Tigers and extra innings on his 5050 raffle night. What is the most disappointing sporting event you've ever been to in person? Whether that be, you know, a playoff game that was super hyped and your team got killed, or, you know, for me, it's definitely going to be. And this might be a little recency bias, but I went to game one of the NBA first round playoffs. The Detroit Pistons were, of course, the 1 seed, and we lost at home to the AC Orlando Magic. Pretty disappointing. I think everyone was leaving, pretty disappointed, but was just thinking if there's something else out there that maybe you attended a game and, you know, things that really go your way. So appreciate it. Stay handsome, Stay beautiful. Love you guys. Thanks.
Arian Foster
That's a good question. In person.
Big T
Where do I begin?
Arian Foster
You've had a few.
Big T
Quite a few. The one that immediately comes to mind is 20 because disappointing, like, like, I've been to a ton of bad losses, but in terms of, like, real disappointment, like, everything built around. It was 2015. My first game in Neyland Stadium of my freshman year at Tennessee was we played Oklahoma. And 15 was the year that, like, Butch Jones, that was what he had built to. Everybody's like, this team's gonna be really good. And it should have been. We had Alvin Camara and Josh Dobbs and Josh Malone and Juwan Jennings and on and on. Bunch of NFL players. And we played Oklahoma at home. That was Baker. And we were up 17 to nothing. And I mean, the paint was shaking off the building. It was. I've never experienced anything like it to this day. It was the most unbelievable atmosphere at a game I've ever experienced. And we lost in overtime. It was. It was devastating.
Mad Dog McKenzie
It's still a good game though.
Big T
It was an incredible game. But. But it was like. And then from there Butch's tenure didn't just kind of kept going like that.
Arian Foster
Yeah, that's tough. I mean that's. It's interesting because it was a good game, but the, the mood when you leave the stadium has to be just. Oh, shitty.
Big T
Devastating.
Arian Foster
I went to game four of the World Series when it was Nat Astros at home in D.C. not a good game. Nobody won at home actually that entire series, depending on which team you rooted for.
Big T
Everybody left the stadium mad.
Arian Foster
There were, yeah, there were no happy stadiums at the end of any of the seven games.
Big T
And see, I thought about that with game five, I guess of the Braves World Series because they went up four nothing in the first inning and lost. But like we still won. So it. That takes the sting out of it.
Voicemail Caller
It.
Arian Foster
There was also, I mean, I went to the Chiefs Commanders Monday night game this year. That. That sucked. That was just a shitty game to go to. But no, it wasn't like super heartbreaking because it was Marcus Mariota on the road against Patrick Mahomes. So it's not like I, I was expecting too much out of it. Trying to think what else, what other games I've been to leaving dis. Oh, oh, game seven. Was it 2010? It might have been 2010. 20. No, maybe 2011. Forget the year it was Caps Penguins game seven in D.C. i felt like this is the year that the Washington Capitals finally win the Stanley cup. And then I believe we lost like seven to nothing in game seven.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Mopped.
Arian Foster
That was. That was a very shitty environment. Yeah, that was pretty bad. Yeah.
Mad Dog McKenzie
I don't know that I've ever gone to any. I never been to a pro game until I was in one. But being in one, the most disappointing game I played in was the 2012 playoffs. I think that was like, I think maybe the best or one of the best records in the league at the time. And then we had a real good game against the Bengals, first round of playoffs, second round. We got get mopped against the Patriots when we felt like we had the better team. And I think we did, but we got mopped.
Arian Foster
And that was against who?
Mad Dog McKenzie
Tom Brady and the Patriots
Big T
on the other end of more that end of the spectrum of disappointing was a few months ago when I went To Tennessee Michigan in the Elite Eight. Our third straight Elite Eight. And like, we knew we weren't the better team, but, like, you know, you talk yourself into, like, I mean, you know, four minutes at a time, like, that's. And we just got absolutely boat raced, just dismantled. And just sitting there with Blutman, which was funny, was just a nightmare.
Arian Foster
Does it ever make it any easier that the team that beat you goes on to win at all?
Big T
I mean, yeah, they were the best team. They were way better than us, but.
Arian Foster
No, it doesn't.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Not for me.
Arian Foster
So the Patriots won the super bowl that year, right?
Mad Dog McKenzie
I don't know that they did. I know we had. Was it the year before? Did Baltimore win it that year?
Voicemail Caller
No.
Mad Dog McKenzie
No, I think Baltimore won it that year, didn't they?
Big T
You said 12. Yeah.
Mad Dog McKenzie
So it would be. It would be 2013.
Big T
Was 12, San Francisco, Baltimore?
Mad Dog McKenzie
I think so, yeah.
Big T
Because the Falcons lost to the 49ers in the NFC championship game.
Mad Dog McKenzie
I believe so.
Arian Foster
Yep.
Big T
Another game that they let 17 to nothing.
Mad Dog McKenzie
And then that's another Flacco year. We felt like we were the. Probably the better team in AFC. We had beat Baltimore that year, 2012, like 40 something, eight or something. We mopped them. And so we felt like we get. We gonna. We're gonna get to the Patriots and we gonna see Baltimore again, and we're gonna handle that business and we're gonna handle our business.
Voicemail Caller
And none of that happened.
Arian Foster
No.
Voicemail Caller
Yeah.
Arian Foster
I'm always with the mindset that if you. If you lose, you might as well lose the team that goes on to win it all, because then you could be like, we were the second best.
Big T
Really?
Mad Dog McKenzie
Yeah. I don't even think that no L is. The L is an L. Yeah.
Arian Foster
Well, I'm a loser, so that's.
Mad Dog McKenzie
That's true.
Arian Foster
Yeah.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Glimpse into my mindset under the Michael Jordan sale. It's because you've never won nothing. Yeah, that stung because I. I don't. I've never won anything.
Arian Foster
What's the biggest thing you've won?
Mad Dog McKenzie
Little League championship.
Arian Foster
That's it. What about high school? I bet your high school team was nasty.
Mad Dog McKenzie
No, it was all right. It was one. We was. We was the. The hood school that had all the skilled players but no interior lineman.
Arian Foster
Yeah.
Big T
SEC East.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Is that what it is?
Big T
You want an SEC East? Yeah.
Mad Dog McKenzie
So. Yeah, so we. We made it to the championship. No, we made it to the game to go to the championship. And we got waxed like, wow. But silver lining for me was my last high school touch was like a 70 yard touchdown.
Arian Foster
That's pretty nice.
Mad Dog McKenzie
It was like. It was like in the fourth quarter, we was getting. And I was like, yeah. And they was like, yo, this is your last play. So I literally like got the ball and it was all right there. And I kind of just did my thing and just ran all the way. It was like, in those days you could probably score whenever you wanted to.
Voicemail Caller
Really like that.
Arian Foster
Have you thought about how many people out there must have like an Aryan Foster story? Like, they talk good or bad, their high school football career, and they're like, at one time, you know, I played against Arian Foster probably.
Voicemail Caller
Yeah, yeah.
Arian Foster
And you probably like gave him 250 yards.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Oh, that reminds me. I gotta, I gotta. I got Little League in Albuquerque. It's called Yaffle Young American Football League. And they reached out to me to like send a video of like my experiences of the. I guess they're having like. I think they're 50th or something like that. And so they wanted to reach out to like former players. And I think I was one of the better ones that play. So. Yeah, I gotta, I gotta do that.
Voicemail Caller
Reminded me.
Big T
Do you know how many yards you had in high school?
Mad Dog McKenzie
No, but I only played two years at San Diego. I played the other two in Albuquerque.
Big T
I was asking because we. We played a guy named Jalen Hurd when I was in high school, who was heard. He played for Tennessee, didn't he went to ut. He was the number one running back in the country. He got hurt in the NFL and I don't think really ever played. But I'm looking at his 2012 numbers. In 2012, which is the year we played him, he rushed 317 times for 3,357 yards and 43 touchdowns.
Voicemail Caller
Yeah.
Mad Dog McKenzie
You know, pretty quickly, who's going to be a dog in the next level? Like, I think my. My senior year I had like. I started the season with like 320 yards. 220 yards. 220, something like that.
Voicemail Caller
Something crazy.
Big T
Your senior year, you had 2093 rushing yards, according to Wikipedia.
Voicemail Caller
There you go.
Arian Foster
How many touchdowns?
Big T
24 in addition to six on kickoff returns. So 30.
Mad Dog McKenzie
That is true.
Voicemail Caller
Yeah.
Arian Foster
Did you ever ask for a break?
Mad Dog McKenzie
I didn't play defense there. They wouldn't let me. My coach was like, that's probably smart.
Arian Foster
Did. Did anybody, any colleges recruit you to be like a safety corner?
Mad Dog McKenzie
No, I didn't play defense. My senior year, he asked me to play rp. Dennis Pugh, my head coach from high school, Mission Bay, he Asked me to play quarterback that year. And looking back, I probably should have did that, but I had a conversation with my dad, and he was like, well, you know, you're getting all these looks for running back, you know, switching up, you know, not. And at the time. At the time, it's like, yeah. I mean, looking back, they. The. The way colleges recruited you back then was like, we're giving you the opportunity, so you need to make this decision. You know what I'm saying? It was more like that. And they kind of, like, they punk you. Whereas, like, if you was an athlete, they gonna. You gonna get a look.
Big T
Could you throw?
Voicemail Caller
Could I throw?
Mad Dog McKenzie
Yeah, you could throw. You steady. Tested my athleticism, and it's crazy.
Big T
You were. You were outstanding running back.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Outstanding running back.
Big T
I didn't know if you could throw.
Mad Dog McKenzie
And my claim to fame on that is we were at the Pro Bowl. I think I told this story. But, yeah, it was at the Pro Bowl. It was me, Chris Johnson, and, I believe, Maurice Jones. No, Jamal Charles. And he wanted to. He didn't have a halfback pass put in, but we was all throwing before practice one day, and he was like, throw that thing again. And I just, you know, I could put it there because what I used to do, instead of, like, if you're, like one of the, you know, better players in the league, like, before the practice starts, you usually have, like, skills, position stuff to do. And then during special teams, as well, like, you would go do. But, like, I would just kind of do whatever I wanted to. And so I would go throw with the quarterbacks. And I used to. I used to get with him. I got an arm, big T. And so he put in a halfback pass that we ran with. Julius Pepper's big ass. Disrupted it. Hope he's doing well. Could have been.
Big T
Was it open?
Mad Dog McKenzie
Yeah, but he. He was like. Was he like six, nine? Yeah, it's been going all hard and. Come on, fam.
Arian Foster
I don't know if you heard this, but when we interviewed Belichick, we. We asked him about that Pro bowl because he was a coach. He said that he ripped you guys a new at halftime.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Oh, he tried.
Arian Foster
Yeah, he was. He was so pissed off about the effort in the first half of the Pro Bowl.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Yeah, me and. Me and Chris Johnson were laughing, but yeah. Yeah.
Arian Foster
I mean, do you remember that speech?
Mad Dog McKenzie
Yeah.
Arian Foster
What he says, he was like.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Because I think it was like, 35 to 0, some like that. And I don't. I was. It was very. Because I think I was the starter and so Jamal Charles went in there and he was running hard as fuck. And I remember me and CJ was
Arian Foster
like, like, you got it, though. And so.
Mad Dog McKenzie
And so at halftime, he's like, hey, I'm all here to have a good time. Like, you guys are here. Have a good time. But I'm not here to be the NFC's bitch. And like I said, Jamal Charles was running his ass off. He was running hard. He's like, we're gonna go in there. We're gonna compete. Jamal, you're starting. And we all looked at each other. I was like, got it, dog.
Arian Foster
I did not wanna play. Cause like, Jamal stands up and go, coach is right.
Mad Dog McKenzie
No, he didn't do. He didn't do that. We was all just like. We was all laughing like, dog. Like, hey, nobody wants to play in that game. Nobody wants to play in the game. And I mean. I mean, rightfully so. Like, when you in the NFL, these are like some of the best athletes in the world, and they're all trying to hurt you. So if you at the Pro bowl, those are the top of the. Top of the athletes that are going to try to hurt you. I don't want no smoke with that right now. Not when I had a whole two weeks off of the season. I already getting my drink on this week. I'm not trying to compete like that. And I gained nothing from it at the time. I wasn't under contract. You know what I'm saying? No, you're not going to get my best bill.
Big T
It's actually kind of crazy the Pro bowl ever really existed like that.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Insane.
Big T
Because, like, baseball, basketball, hockey, it's all in the middle of the season. You take a week off and guys go do a fun exhibition and they, you know, go to whatever city. But for football, like, you can't play football without a very inherent risk of injury like you said you were. So you played in the Pro bowl without a contract?
Mad Dog McKenzie
Yeah, but that's nuts. But again, like, if you go watch the Pro Bowl, I'm laying down if you touch me, for sure. But I'm not attempting to get no extra. No yak.
Arian Foster
No, but.
Big T
And the other thing is, like, the season's over. Nobody cares. Like in the All Star Game, it's like, oh, okay, LeBron's having an incredible season and so is Jayson Tatum. They're going to play on the same team.
Mad Dog McKenzie
But it's even that, like, so if in the NBA, if you play a pickup game, it can get competitive. We're like, nah, let me see what you can do.
Big T
Yeah.
Mad Dog McKenzie
I had no interest in if we lining up 1v1 with a linebacker to, to get it in for real. Like, there's no, there's no incentive. No.
Big T
Did you get anything if you won, like, money?
Mad Dog McKenzie
I think it's like an extra 20 grand, but, like, at that point, no. Like, so I, I, I go out and bust my ass for 20 grand, and then I miss out on a million dollar contract. Get the out of here.
Voicemail Caller
Right?
Arian Foster
It's still very funny. It was visual T. Belich trying to. Trying to light a fire.
Mad Dog McKenzie
He was.
Arian Foster
I got to reach these guys.
Mad Dog McKenzie
We're just like, n dog. Yeah, but sh. Me shout out there. I think he, like, so we got the. So when you listen to cats who play for Belichick, like, a lot of cats were like, man, fuck that dude. Yeah, but it's because he played like I played for Gary Kubiak. Yeah, he was an asshole to the offense, but the defensive guys loved him. Right? So, like, we. I got to saw a really cool side of Bill Belichick of, like, super nigga. What was dope about Bill? Was he. He knew who you was, like, in depth. Like, he knew your skill set. He was like, that kind of. That kind of thing.
Voicemail Caller
Yeah.
Mad Dog McKenzie
That was always good to see that your talents were appreciated by somebody who is like, you know, a guru at a game like that. So that was dope.
Arian Foster
Yep. All right, we got another voicemail here.
Voicemail Caller
Hey, guys, this is Eric from LA. I'm 29, and I've gone on, like, six or seven first dates from dating apps over the last few months, and none have really led to second dates. I'm pretty intentional about not texting too much beforehand because I'd rather just meet in person, but every date has been brunch. Once we're there, it feels so hard to have a genuinely good conversation, and it starts to feel like a job interview. And because of that, I feel like it's hard for either of us to really feel chemistry. Like, I don't fully vibe with them, and they probably don't fully vibe with me either. I get that dating, especially online dating, is hard, but I'm wondering if I need to change my approach. Maybe ditch brunch facetime first text more. I don't know. So my question is, what makes a first date actually feel fun and romantic? And what can a guy do to be more charming without forcing it?
Mad Dog McKenzie
I have thoughts on this.
Big T
Okay.
Arian Foster
Yeah, go ahead.
Mad Dog McKenzie
You know, I'm still on the market, so, yeah, I feel like I'm the Most qualified.
Big T
Yeah, go for it.
Voicemail Caller
Okay.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Yeah. So I. I agreed with him wholeheartedly when he said, you know, maybe I need to change my approach.
Voicemail Caller
Yeah.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Like you approaching it like a. Like a transaction. Like, if I do this, I may get this out of it. Like, you can't do that. And I think that's the problem with dating in general. And I have quarrels with as well. Cause a lot of times, you know, I'll date somebody and it's like, it'll end up like, what are you trying to do? And it's like, I'm trying to enjoy the day. Like, we don't have to figure out our life plan right now. Let's just enjoy the dinner or whatever the case may be. And to me, brunch is tough environment for that, because you're gonna have to actually, it's gonna. It's gonna be a job interview. What are your likes? What are your dislikes?
Voicemail Caller
Right.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Rather than do some do something that we have to sit across from each other and stare at each other's eyes, because that in itself is. Is. Is intense and can be romantic or can be kind of weird. So do something where you guys can comment on what's happening, like a movie, a play, or something that. That the entertainment has. Like, you guys have to be in the same place, but you don't have to entertain each other with dialogue because that. Because that's when the deep conversations happen. Because there's only so much like, where you from, what's your favorite color, what's your favorite food you can do. So do something where you can have a, like, interest, or you can find out commonality through another, you know, vessel rather than just conversation. And those conversations are easier to have over drinks. I don't know if you drink, but if you don't drink, dinner is usually probably a better format for that.
Arian Foster
And maybe think about going. If you do an activity, do the activity before dinner, and then at dinner you'll be able to talk about the activity.
Mad Dog McKenzie
That's true. Yeah. Movie or something like that.
Arian Foster
Yeah,
Mad Dog McKenzie
I like physical stuff, like going to arcade, something like that. Mini golf, shit like that. So whether there's like, there's like some kind of buffer, so there's not silence. A lot of people are uncomfortable in silence. I'm not, but I could see how it is. And so there has to be some kind of, like, fallback in cases you don't have to fill the dead space. So it's not your responsibility. Because, like, I think you're probably really. Because you're Good. Such a good podcaster. One of the best podcasters. You're one of the best podcast podcasters of all time. I would say.
Arian Foster
I don't know about that.
Big T
So if you were, is Eric a better podcaster than you were? Running back.
Mad Dog McKenzie
That's a good question. That's a good question. You know, I. I would have to say. I would have to say.
Arian Foster
Yeah, well, there's. It's all subjective.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Like, he's on Netflix.
Arian Foster
Who knows?
Mad Dog McKenzie
I was never on Netflix.
Arian Foster
What makes a good podcaster?
Madeline
You were on national tv.
Big T
Yeah, recently.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Say what?
Big T
The Baker Mayfield thing was on Netflix.
Mad Dog McKenzie
I did make Netflix, but it took Baker Mayfield put me on Netflix. I couldn't make Netflix on my own merit, though.
Madeline
But you were on, like, NBC.
Big T
Yeah.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Proxied the Houston Texans. Well, what I'm saying is I think
Madeline
the Texans were on NBC. Proxy Arian Foster.
Mad Dog McKenzie
You know what? You have a good point there. I'm not gonna argue that, but I would say being well known in a sport is easier than starting a podcast from scratch and being, like, a nationally recognized name. I'll probably say that.
Arian Foster
But what if you were the first person, like, one of the first, like, 10 people to invent football? You'd probably be looked at as being bro.
Mad Dog McKenzie
What?
Arian Foster
Like, when it comes to podcasting, part of my take started when there were very few sports.
Mad Dog McKenzie
That's what I'm saying. I'm saying I think you were, like, in your lane. You were more of an innovator and more of a mover of culture than I was in my lane. Which one's harder to do physically, clearly, podcasting. But as far as, like, you know, I think, yeah, I would say it's a fair. That's a fair, fair point. But anyway, yeah, dog, Stop treating it like a job interview. Just go out there and always be. It's corny, but, like, just. Just be yourself and make fun of the dead space. And that's why. That's why I brought up the pockets and things. Like, you would be good at dating because you know how to fill the dead space. You know how to carry a segue to another conversation, or if you feel it's getting awkward, you can derail the conversation or, you know, go another direction with it.
Arian Foster
It's probably like anything. Like, practice.
Mad Dog McKenzie
It's a skill set.
Arian Foster
Yeah, practice helps.
Mad Dog McKenzie
It's a skill set that probably not a lot of people that are either confident in their dating skills or conversations with the other sex are comfortable with. But you ever watch.
Arian Foster
You ever, like, go back and watch Tape on your own dating performance. Like, you reevaluate, you get home and you're like, okay, here's where I went wrong.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Absolutely. Absolutely. I think that's, I think it's important for self growth because a lot of times I'm good, dude, I'm good.
Voicemail Caller
People
Mad Dog McKenzie
anti, you know, creep. I ain't, I ain't trying to creep no women out. And so I'm always like, I could probably handle that a little better here, do things better here. But at the end of the day, the majority of us aren't compatible romantically and that's okay. So just enjoy the date. You know, I mean if we have to enjoy the movie, enjoy the meal and if you find somebody that's like minded and wants to, you know, sleep
Arian Foster
with you, do that, that's great.
Big T
Might be a brunch thing. I went to brunch with my now wife on our fourth or fifth date. Like we, we liked each other and, and she shows up and we went to brunch and she ordered avocado toast, didn't need a bite of it and was just like, really just seemed like she didn't want to be there. And you know, we, we continued dating for, for years. And I, at one point I was like, do you remember that? Like what, what was up with that? She goes, I hate avocado toast. I said, why'd you order it? She goes, I have no idea.
Mad Dog McKenzie
So what you do at brunch and
Big T
yeah, and it was just, it was a, I left that date. I was like, boy, this might not be what in the world. And it was just. Yeah, it was a bad brunch. So maybe just don't do brunch.
Mad Dog McKenzie
I don't think brunch is a good date place. I think dinner's better. Drinks also. Yeah, drinks. It's low, it's load and dim lit on majority of dinner places. So you don't feel like you're the center spotlight. You know, there's a lot of pressure.
Arian Foster
Yeah.
Mad Dog McKenzie
When it comes to that. And, and I think it's just, it's louder so you don't have to be as intently focused on their eyes.
Arian Foster
Yeah.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Less pressure.
Madeline
Also like dating just generally sucks. So like don't put your self worth into like a bad date because it's like you can't, it can't be perfect all the time. So it's like you can't marry everyone.
Voicemail Caller
Yeah.
Madeline
Yeah.
Mad Dog McKenzie
So that's basically what a date is like. Hey you, you think we can get married one day?
Voicemail Caller
Probably.
Madeline
No. And the answer is most likely no.
Voicemail Caller
Yeah.
Madeline
Yeah. Exactly.
Mad Dog McKenzie
As it should be, though, too. So rejection is a good thing in dating.
Madeline
Right. Like, every single person you go on a date with, besides, literally one will not be your future husband or wife.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Yeah.
Arian Foster
Yeah.
Madeline
So the hit rate is extremely low.
Voicemail Caller
Yeah.
Madeline
When you really think about it. So going on six or seven rough brunches. One, we can't do brunch anymore. Two, it's part of the game.
Mad Dog McKenzie
It's like, who's the dude invented the light bulb?
Madeline
Thomas Edson.
Mad Dog McKenzie
You know he found 2000 ways to not invent the light bulb.
Arian Foster
True.
Mad Dog McKenzie
You found 2,000 girls, my guy.
Big T
True.
Mad Dog McKenzie
To not be your wife.
Madeline
Yeah. I would also just strongly suggest not doing brunch anymore.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Yeah.
Madeline
Because I went on a brunch date one time, but it was to a ramen place. Oh.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Yeah.
Madeline
In New York.
Mad Dog McKenzie
See, that would have had my heart.
Madeline
See, it, like, the food was fine. It wasn't like, the food I was pissed about, but I woke up at. I had to wake up earlier than I would want to on, like, a Saturday morning to, like, go on a second date. And that was rough because I was like, I'd rather be sleeping in. I'm kind of hungover.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Ramen's not good on a date either. If you.
Voicemail Caller
Yeah.
Madeline
I'm slurping up my dad.
Mad Dog McKenzie
A lot of slurping. A lot of weird shit could happen with the slurps.
Arian Foster
The jammy eggs. Too jammy.
Big T
Yeah. Yeah.
Arian Foster
Dribbles.
Big T
Yeah.
Mad Dog McKenzie
You got to know each other with a ramen date.
Madeline
Yeah. And this was a second date.
Arian Foster
It's too spicy. That then you start coughing, and then. And then you get that sweating, and
Mad Dog McKenzie
you get that weird, like, cough. Can't breathe.
Arian Foster
Yeah.
Mad Dog McKenzie
And then they're like, are you okay? That whole can get really weird. And then everybody starts looking at you because you're loud and can't breathe and possibly choking to death.
Madeline
Right, Right.
Arian Foster
That's weird.
Big T
I've been having a thought. Rank the meals from conservative to most liberal. Brunch, obviously the most liberal of all the meals.
Madeline
So just the three meals, including avocado toast.
Big T
Yeah. I think the most conservative is breakfast.
Arian Foster
Yeah. Agreed.
Big T
Because, like, the best breakfast you could ever have would be on a farm. Right. That's fresh eggs, bacon. You know that breakfast is right for your day. Yes.
Arian Foster
Good, clean American foods.
Big T
I think dinner leans a little more left, and I think lunch is a little bit more right of, so.
Madeline
Oh, no, I think lunch live.
Big T
Yeah.
Arian Foster
Dinners.
Big T
Really?
Arian Foster
Yeah. Very liberal.
Big T
You think?
Arian Foster
Yeah, because international influence.
Madeline
Yeah.
Arian Foster
You can go a lot of vegan options. A lot of vegetarian.
Mad Dog McKenzie
A lot of diversity.
Arian Foster
A lot of diversity.
Madeline
Also, like, how many times are you at a lunch during the middle of, like, a day and you're like, why don't these people have nine to fives?
Big T
Now, that's fair. I hadn't considered that.
Madeline
Respect to my libs that don't have nine to fives, I considered that.
Big T
Well, wait, you said dinner a second ago. Did you mean lunch?
Arian Foster
I think lunch is more conservative than dinner.
Big T
That's what I said. And you disagreed?
Madeline
Yeah, I think it's the opposite.
Arian Foster
Yeah. Yeah.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Sorry.
Arian Foster
Yeah, yeah. Dinner is. Is more liberal.
Big T
That's what I think.
Voicemail Caller
So.
Big T
As well.
Arian Foster
Okay. Yeah, agreed.
Madeline
So I disagree.
Big T
But what. What Madeline said does ring a bit true, but just on the. The merit of the meals themselves. I agree. I think.
Arian Foster
Yeah.
Big T
I think on the far right is breakfast. On the far left is brunch. A little bit left of center is dinner. A little bit right of center is lunch.
Arian Foster
Yep.
Mad Dog McKenzie
What do you put dessert?
Arian Foster
Ooh, liberal.
Big T
Depends what it is.
Madeline
Ice cream.
Big T
Vanilla ice cream with some chocolate sauce on it. That's conservative. A tiramisu.
Madeline
That's Thomas Dubai chocolate. That's lib.
Arian Foster
That's apple pie.
Big T
That's conservative.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Yeah. Okay.
Arian Foster
Yeah.
Madeline
I also feel like older people like dessert. Like, I feel like as you get older, dessert becomes of more important priority to you, and older people tend to lean more conservative.
Mad Dog McKenzie
See, I'm having the opposite here, really. I like dessert less and less and.
Madeline
But you don't.
Mad Dog McKenzie
You've never, like, going more left as I grow older.
Big T
You've never liked dessert.
Madeline
You've never been a sweets guy.
Mad Dog McKenzie
I used. No, no. I used to love cheesecake.
Big T
Okay.
Madeline
That's not even real.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Used to love cheesecake.
Madeline
If you're gonna pick one dessert to be like, I love that cheesecake. We're not.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Yeah. What was that? That was. That was kind of strong. Take. What you don't fuck with cheesecake.
Madeline
I like cheesecake, but, like, I don't think cheesecake is, like, the pinnacle dessert. And I think if you're like.
Big T
Has a whole restaurant, though, one was good.
Arian Foster
Yeah, but that is so many things.
Big T
But that's the namesake.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Bananas Foster was always dope.
Big T
Is that just cuz.
Madeline
No, no, no.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Like, the whole presentation, they burn it and shit right in front of you.
Big T
I don't even know what it is. I've just heard of it.
Mad Dog McKenzie
It's. It's like a banana with, like, that little. You know what? Now I'm Thinking about, I don't even know what the fuck it is either.
Arian Foster
I think it's banana.
Mad Dog McKenzie
They burn it, right?
Arian Foster
Yeah, it's like, I forget what it is. It's the cherries jubilee of bananas.
Madeline
Banana Foster is an American dessert made from bananas with a sauce made from butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, dark red rum and ban. Banana liqueur. Butter, sugar and bananas are cooked and then alcohol is added and ignited.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Yeah, I knew, I knew there was bananas and I was like, what the is it?
Madeline
Yeah, yeah, it's like caramelized bananas.
Big T
I was just fixing to say that.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Caramelized.
Madeline
Yeah, hell yeah.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Caramelized.
Arian Foster
Caramelized. Do we have any other voicemails?
Madeline
Do we do.
Voicemail Caller
Hey, this is Josh from, from Indiana. Made that calling in saying I love the show. Actually met Big T once. It was last year at the world's card collection convention or whatever the hell it's called.
Big T
Coming up this weekend.
Voicemail Caller
My, my question is. So right now me and my mom are kind of having a falling out a little bit. I mean, it's neither my fault or her fault. At least that's what I think. She got married couple two years ago, you know, part of the wedding. Pretty small wedding. Whatever. And my stepdad, dude, lowkey, kind of a dick. Like, I mean, I'm 21 years old, he's 50 something. And dude, I got a printout of rules that I'm supposed to follow and I'm like, are you serious? A print out of rules? I just kind of want to get your guys's opinion on that. Should I? You know, I'm kind of in two camps here, you know. You know, obviously I love my mom and everything, but it's like I can't stand the guy. So I'm just staying in my girlfriend's house for a while just like to get your guys opinion on that. Stay handsome, stay beautiful.
Big T
So I think he clarified my question at the end. So he lives with his mom. Did he say that at the beginning?
Madeline
Okay, yeah, he said he's 21. So.
Big T
So yeah, because I was like, that changes if, if you don't live with your mom and this guy hands you a set of rules. Like, okay, dude, whatever. But I guess if you live there that, yeah, that's a different.
Arian Foster
Her house, her rules. I guess. Her house, my rules.
Big T
Right.
Mad Dog McKenzie
See I have, I have experience with this. My mother was with a guy who was a. And I don't mince my words, he was a ass nigga. So we, we, we ain't, we ain't not get along, but he just was, like, very. Just. He was just soft.
Voicemail Caller
Right.
Mad Dog McKenzie
He just did some things that was really just whack. And then the way he parted was even worse. And so, anywho, I. We felt, you know, the. The constituents that were her children, we felt that she was different with him than she was without him. And so I respected the household that they wanted to uphold, but at the end of the day, my relationship with my mother was more important than me saying what I felt about him. And so although I felt like she was bugging a lot of the times, I just. I just went along with it. And eventually what happened was she came around and was like, yeah, you know, I. You know, he just wasn't the. Yeah, we. Yeah, we know it's all good, and there's no love lost. But she just. In. In your scenario, she just married him. That. I mean, that's a forever thing initially. So. Yeah, at 20, one's different, too. Like, you. You not a grown man, but you.
Voicemail Caller
You grow.
Mad Dog McKenzie
You a young man.
Arian Foster
Yeah.
Mad Dog McKenzie
I think that you have every right to have. It also depends what the list of rules are, too. If they're unreasonable, I would say stand your ground. But if they're not unreasonable, I don't think it's worth losing a relationship with your mother over. But if he's, like, you know, intentionally trying to fuck with you, have a conversation, which. Because a lot. A lot of stepdads will do that. They'll try to. I'm the man of the house type shit.
Arian Foster
Yeah.
Mad Dog McKenzie
You ain't got to do all that.
Arian Foster
Is it more of a, like, trying to prove that he's man of the house or prove that, like, is it a battle for who's closer with this guy's mom?
Mad Dog McKenzie
That could be the case, too. See, my. My thought. Because my number one thing, anytime I enter into a conflict, I'm like, okay, I put myself in your shoes.
Arian Foster
Yeah.
Mad Dog McKenzie
How. How would I handle this if I was you? What? I try to consider your feelings.
Voicemail Caller
Right.
Mad Dog McKenzie
So if I'm. If I marry somebody and they have a son and he's 21, he's living with us. I don't. I don't know. There's a lot of different variables. Is your dad around? You know, how good of a dad was he? Is he influential in your life? All that shit matters. At the end of the day, I will never be your father, and I ain't trying to be. And so let's. Let's just work it out so we have the best relationships so that there's peace In a home, that. That would be my first move as a stepdad. And it seems like he didn't do that.
Big T
I think a critical piece of information is missing, which is, what does the mom think about this? If she was. If they came up with that list together, I think it's odd that the stepdad would give it to him rather than that kid's mom. I think that's a mistake. But if they're. If they are married and they came up with, like, we have this list of rules. If you're going to live here as an adult, then, like, part of that. It's their house.
Mad Dog McKenzie
It's also, we hear, I think, side of the story too.
Big T
Right.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Because, like, if we hear mom and stepdad, like, yeah, well, this little motherfucker, he. He's a problem.
Big T
Now, I think that is something that should come from your mom and not a stepdad.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Agreed. Because I'm not your dad.
Big T
Right. But like, and if he. If he did that on his own, that's nuts. But if it was in conjunction with the mom, I mean, then she should have presented it.
Mad Dog McKenzie
She should have presented it.
Big T
But, like, then that's the way it goes, kind of.
Mad Dog McKenzie
See, but the problem with that kind of thing, which alludes to my original point, is I bet you he's like, well, where were these rules?
Big T
Sure.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Why these rules now?
Big T
Right.
Mad Dog McKenzie
And so I think that's. That's probably more the crux of it is a lot of. And that happens a lot of time in relationships is like, we kind of mold to our partners personalities, and that can change the dynamic between you and your kids.
Arian Foster
Yeah.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Which can become an issue in itself. I always try to parent in mind, knowing that I'm going to have a zoom call with your therapist at 20 to 30. And so my parenting is specifically curated around what's the best thing for you in this situation and how much of this I'm gonna have to talk with you within 20, 30 years.
Arian Foster
Yeah.
Mad Dog McKenzie
So I try to minimize those zoom calls because I'm gonna be golfing.
Arian Foster
That's good advice. That's good advice. The printout seems excessive.
Mad Dog McKenzie
It's a lot.
Arian Foster
I don't think that there's ever gonna be a situation in my life where I'm going to print out a list of rules that I made up for anything.
Mad Dog McKenzie
It's weird.
Voicemail Caller
Yeah.
Mad Dog McKenzie
I can't think for myself.
Arian Foster
It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter what it is, where I find myself in life, what event I'm hosting at any given time. I'm not I'm not logging on, typing up rules and then printing them out, and then God forbid, like, handing them to people and saying, you need to do what this paper tells you to do.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Which leads me to believe that either one, he's an authoritarian or a big fan of Jordan Peterson, or he has a reason where the son is a habitual line stepper and he needs some order in his house.
Arian Foster
That's true.
Mad Dog McKenzie
It's a fair. Ask again. We're not giving all the context.
Arian Foster
Yeah.
Mad Dog McKenzie
So there's. There's missing information. So I would say err on the side of caution and like it or don't like it. If you're not paying the bills in your house, you got to follow certain rules.
Arian Foster
Now, if the sun. If this guy is a habitual line stepper, I still don't think typing up a list and then printing it out is the best way.
Mad Dog McKenzie
It's passive aggressive. It's passive aggressive.
Arian Foster
It's like you slide it to it.
Mad Dog McKenzie
How did he give it to. Did he slide it to him and say, hey, look at me. Yeah, I'm the captain.
Arian Foster
Certified letter. So he knows that you opened it. I know it got delivered like he
Mad Dog McKenzie
folded it like those, like girls used to give us in middle school.
Arian Foster
Oh, the. The fortune teller open here. Yeah. Unfortunately, it got served by an officer of the court. I've confirmed that you've seen the rules. So you have no excuse. Printing shit out.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Yeah.
Arian Foster
All right. Any other voicemails?
Voicemail Caller
What's up, guys? This is Jaden from Lubbock, Texas. Love the show. Love you guys. Shout out Clovis, New Mexico, because they're in foster from New Mexico. But here's my question. I'm getting engaged Labor Day weekend in San Diego. It's my favorite place and she likes it a lot, too, my girlfriend. So the question is, do you guys have any recommendations on, you know, how I should do it, what I should do to add some pizzazz? I already got the okay from her parents, so we're all. Both of our families are going to be there, and I don't think she has any idea that it's happening. So any. Any recommendations? Since I know Arian Foster is familiar with the San Diego area. So stay handsome, stay beautiful, peace, Hope she doesn't listen.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Clearly doesn't. I would venture to say
Big T
personal,
Mad Dog McKenzie
like, what do they call them? Easter eggs in any kind of thought out way. I think go a long way with women. Like the first time you did this, or I remember she said this a long time ago, that she liked this Whatever the case may be, lay all that out in a cool way. And there's this restaurant on Pacific beach called, I think it's called Green Light, where when the sun goes down, sometimes it emits a green light over the horizon. And so maybe try to time it up with that. That would be dope.
Arian Foster
Oh, yeah, the green light. I've heard about the green flash.
Mad Dog McKenzie
It might be that maybe lighter green flash like that.
Arian Foster
Have you ever seen it?
Mad Dog McKenzie
Yeah.
Arian Foster
Is it cool?
Mad Dog McKenzie
Yeah, it's cool. But, you know, I'm not like super big on, like, natural. I think the one thing that will all me like, you know, like, what is it? The Grand Canyon? I'm like, it's cool. But the aurora borealis, that might get me.
Arian Foster
Yeah.
Mad Dog McKenzie
To believe in something higher.
Arian Foster
I would love to see that. It was here in Chicago last year.
Voicemail Caller
Right.
Big T
They say that I didn't see it, though.
Arian Foster
I think I might have been out of town.
Big T
I, I, I was looking for it
Arian Foster
and I didn't, didn't see it.
Big T
No.
Mad Dog McKenzie
What about going like me and Jesus.
Arian Foster
What about taking, taking her to Sunset Cliffs and jumping off?
Mad Dog McKenzie
If you're jumping at your own, there's sharks in some of those waters. I don't, I don't do that.
Arian Foster
I saw a video of a guy trying to do that. He just landed on side of the cliff and like broke his legs.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Yeah, I don't, Jumping is not you especially.
Arian Foster
I'm not jumping.
Big T
Why would you do that when you're getting engaged?
Arian Foster
I don't know.
Mad Dog McKenzie
I mean, kind of.
Arian Foster
That's the most recent thing that I saw coming out of San Diego.
Big T
Okay.
Arian Foster
Is a kid at that cliff.
Big T
Nice, man. So it sounds like a terrible idea.
Arian Foster
Bad idea. Don't do it. Yeah. It was a joke. Don't do it. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Stay out of the water. I don't know.
Arian Foster
Matt Dog McKinsey. You guys have any, any recommendations? This, it feels like you got to know a little bit about her because some, I think some women are more into the surprise thing. Some women would like their family to be around.
Madeline
Yeah.
Arian Foster
That kind of have to know her, her whole vibe.
Madeline
Yeah. That's up to her. And obviously if you're proposing in when this comes out, you know, six weeks, hopefully, you know those types of things because everyone's different. Like I, I would never, ever, ever want to get engaged, like in public where other people are around and can see it happening.
Arian Foster
Jumbotron.
Madeline
Yeah. Like I, I, I'd really, I'd really have to say no because also I will say unless You. Unless she says, like, I want you to figure it out and have it be a complete surprise. I think setting something up like that, like the Jumbotron, if you know that's something that she would hate. Like, I think that proves that you don't know that much. Like, you don't know her well enough to know that she would hate something like that. Like, that's a flaw in your relationship and maybe you shouldn't be getting married. I'm not saying this guy is doing that.
Voicemail Caller
Don't.
Madeline
But, you know, whatever. I think, say something personal while you're doing it. I would assume. I've never been engaged, but I feel like that's nice to hear. If she wants, I would have, like, her family or her best friends kind of waiting at maybe, like, a bar or something, and you guys meet them thereafter, like a restaurant.
Mad Dog McKenzie
They walk in. What did she say?
Madeline
Yeah, what happened? I mean, San Diego's, like, a beautiful place. I don't know much about San Diego. We only went there last year for the Padres, but can't really go wrong. No. Like, La Jolla was beautiful. I know. That's, like, the very nice part of San Diego. Like, La Jolla was beautiful. Yeah. I think just cater it to what she wants and what, you know, like about her to be true. But I think at the end of the day, it's like, the whole point is that you guys are getting married and get to spend the rest of your lives together. Like, you don't need it to be a fanfare.
Arian Foster
Yeah.
Madeline
Lozano. Yeah. No, I think, like, don't ask her directly, but try to ask her in a way that, like, oh, maybe talk about another friend's engagement and be like, not, like, did you like that? But just, like, try to get the idea of what she wants before you sort of, like, plan anything. Ask her friends, and if she wants to be surprised, then, yeah, do whatever you want. Yeah. Also, I feel like if you're someone that's, like, asking for advice, he clearly cares about it and, like, wants to do the right thing. So I think you'll be fine regardless. And you listen to the show, so you're just, like, an awesome person, a good guy. So.
Big T
Yeah.
Madeline
And again, like Madeline said, if you know each other, it's going to be fine regardless. So, like, I think whatever you think and she thinks is perfect.
Arian Foster
That's a good point. By. By Mackenzie, that you've got to have one of her friends has to be your mole on the inside.
Madeline
Yes, I. You have to.
Arian Foster
The most trustworthy, good friend of hers that you feel like you've had at least some connection with.
Madeline
Yeah.
Arian Foster
Try to get the intel from her.
Madeline
Yes.
Arian Foster
And have her try to like, break it down because she, she will be not as invested, but she wants her friend to have a, a good engagement. And honestly, she'll like you more because yes. She knows that you care about wanting to make her friend happy.
Madeline
Yes. Yeah.
Arian Foster
Yeah.
Madeline
Yes.
Mad Dog McKenzie
She knows how to probe better than you.
Madeline
A hundred and yeah. Also, like, I feel like girls just talk about that kind of stuff. Like she won't even meet, maybe need to probe. She would just know. Yeah, she would probably what she would want as her friend.
Arian Foster
Worst case scenario, she does a little probing. She's like, hey, I don't think that you should now it's not a good time to ask.
Madeline
Right. That is worst case scenario. But then, you know, give it a couple.
Arian Foster
Yeah. Yeah. You can avoid like catastrophe. Not that I mean it sounds like probably, you know, that it's going to end well, she'll say yes, blah, blah, blah. But yeah, you will 100 be able to find out, like beyond a reasonable doubt. Like, she will say yes.
Madeline
Yes. Right. For sure. Yeah. I agree. But good luck.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Good luck, homie.
Madeline
You got it.
Arian Foster
All right, one more.
Madeline
Yep.
Mad Dog McKenzie
I will say that it's, it's so much better being in studio with y. Yeah.
Arian Foster
We love having you here.
Big T
You want to move here?
Mad Dog McKenzie
No, not at all. Damn you.
Big T
Get out of that red state hell hole you're in. Move to one of these nice blue cities.
Arian Foster
Or we could do a podcast about how much taxes you're paying now.
Big T
You know, I, I, that is nuts. By the way, where did this edict come from?
Arian Foster
I think so. It's a lot of stuff that has come out before, but what's happened is you've seen a couple clips go viral of athletes talking about how much money they pay in taxes. And then now you see more clipping accounts. Go back to old interviews where athletes are talking about their, their tax situation and now they're clipping those and putting them out again. Because the clipping accounts, because of Musk's X.com they're like, I'm trying to monetize. And this is the trend right now. By the way, I got a message from X last weekend. I think they're getting into the banking game. I saw that X money.
Big T
Are they giv, what, like 6%?
Arian Foster
6% is what they're saying.
Mad Dog McKenzie
What does that mean?
Big T
I'm interested.
Arian Foster
So Elon's vision for X.com, the Everything app, it's all happening on X is for it to be the everything app where it'll have a banking feature, it'll replace texting, it'll replace just everything. It'll be the one app that you have in your phone for all the above.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Dating app. AI.
Arian Foster
AI. A lot of AI. Yeah. Finding potential recipients for your sperm. All the important stuff that, that guys want.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Potential recipients for my sperm?
Arian Foster
Yeah. So that you can populate the earth like Elon. Yes, exactly.
Big T
You think that, you think they're really given 6% though?
Arian Foster
6%? What's the limit on it?
Big T
I don't know.
Arian Foster
I didn't really do that much.
Big T
Me neither. I just saw that much research. I'm interested though.
Mad Dog McKenzie
I've already populated earth enough. I'm straight.
Arian Foster
Yeah.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Yeah. I did my. I had my Elon run.
Big T
I think my high yield right now is like 4.3.
Arian Foster
Where's that?
Big T
I don't want to give out my bank.
Arian Foster
You don't want other people to get that same deal? I just don't.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Yeah, they just hacked drake's and Kendrick's YouTube.
Arian Foster
Oh really?
Mad Dog McKenzie
Yeah, they was putting out some goofy ass videos.
Arian Foster
What was on there?
Mad Dog McKenzie
I, I didn't see the Kendrick jump, but I saw the Drake jump. Was they, they, they released Not Like Us and then another video called Kendrick Zamini or some like that.
Big T
Yeah. The high yield offers 6% APY on cash balances held in the digital wallet. Now I don't love that verbiage. A digital wallet? Yeah, I'd prefer you to be more of a. An established type deal.
Arian Foster
They've got something that's called a multi bank sweep program. So fdic, I think they insure everything. If you're a bank, you have to insure everything up to. What is it like $250,000 per account? So that's a law that's been in effect for quite some time. But they're saying that they have a bank sweep program where if you deposit more than $250,000 it. You can access up to $10 million in FDIC insurance. It sounds like.
Mad Dog McKenzie
I don't know.
Arian Foster
If real, then that's a good idea. But I'm, I remain dubious.
Big T
Yeah, I'm. I'm curious to see this play out.
Mad Dog McKenzie
So if you have a, an account with X and you violate their terms of service because you tweeted some, does that up your bank account?
Big T
It's a fascinating question.
Arian Foster
That's a very good. Yeah. If you get banned, does everything.
Mad Dog McKenzie
I can't, I can't access Grok or buy stock.
Arian Foster
I don't know. Like, if Elon. If you make fun of Elon, let's say you reply to one of his tweets, one of his posts, and you make fun of his body. And Elon's like, this is very rude. I can't believe that you would say that to me. I'm banning you from X. If that happens, what happens to your account? Are you still allowed to access your funds?
Mad Dog McKenzie
It's a good question.
Arian Foster
I don't know.
Big T
Also, I'm reading the fine print. Premium plus users are eligible for 6%.
Arian Foster
Okay.
Big T
Premium users may be eligible for a boosted APY of 6% when qualifying direct deposit requirements are met.
Arian Foster
So if you pay for what would that be? Like 20 bucks a month for X?
Big T
I don't know what it is.
Arian Foster
Yeah, I don't know.
Big T
Oh, standard. The. Their standard, it says for X, premium tier is 3.92%.
Arian Foster
But premium plus, what about. What about platinum premium plus?
Big T
Yeah. I'm not sure they've got a lot of numbers going on in here, but it sounds like if you are one of Elon's closest followers, you can potentially get 6% on your high yield savings account with X.
Arian Foster
And that's probably only insured if there's. If the bank goes under. If the underlying bank of X goes under, then it's insured. But if, like X, the company goes under or they spend all their money, they go bankrupt or whatever. I wonder how that would cover what you've deposited. It's a little convoluted.
Voicemail Caller
Yeah.
Big T
I don't know. I'm probably not going to test it.
Arian Foster
I'm not going to test. I'm not going to trust Elon with my life savings just yet.
Big T
You've got enough. You could toss a little in there, see what happens.
Arian Foster
Just see it as an experiment.
Big T
Yeah.
Arian Foster
Maybe throw Elon a little money.
Voicemail Caller
Yeah.
Big T
See what?
Arian Foster
I'll give elon a little 6% loan.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Yeah, why not?
Arian Foster
All right, let's do one.
Big T
He's giving you 6%, but I'm getting. No, I'm giving him a loan. My money. Correct.
Voicemail Caller
Correct.
Arian Foster
And the vig ON that is 6%.
Big T
Yes.
Arian Foster
Yeah. Gonna need you to pay up, Elon. Let's do one more voicemail and then we will see you guys on Thursday.
Big T
Big guest.
Arian Foster
Big guest.
Voicemail Caller
Hi, guys, this is Nick from Ontario, Canada in C. Ontario. Loving this place. My question for you guys. So I'm outside cutting my lawn like a freaking Norman old dad. It's like mid-30s, got two kids, and I'm Looking at my house I built, and I'm like, that's probably like the most, like, physical. Well, not so much physical. Like, physical thing I created with my hands. And I. I know you guys like podcasts and, you know, obviously Adrian with football and stuff, but, like, what is, like, for you guys, like, physically built thing that you guys are either the most proud of or, like, you, like, physically, like, did. Like, it could be like a garden shed or like, I don't know. Pft. With the. The golf cart and stuff. I don't know if it's back yet or not, but anyways, what's, like the most physical thing that you guys, like, built that you're like, either Most crafts, anyways. Dance and beautiful. Peace out.
Arian Foster
Okay, that's a good question. In terms of chores, in terms of construction, manual labor. What have you built?
Mad Dog McKenzie
I think my. The last album I released, a lot of it had production that I made. And so creating art out of thin air is always dope to me. It's just an idea that you have manifested in vibrational form that, you know, people. Some people like, some people don't, whatever. But it's. It's. That's always a dope feeling. I think creating and crafting art is always a. A really good feeling, especially when it comes out and you're. You're proud of it, you like it and. Yeah, I think. I think that's my.
Arian Foster
Yeah, it's a good answer.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Thanks, man.
Arian Foster
Something that you make that makes somebody
Mad Dog McKenzie
feel something makes somebody.
Arian Foster
One way or another, something, I would say. Yeah, the golf cart is. It's still in the shop right now, and the. The guy's not returned my calls, so I might not ever get it back. We'll see.
Mad Dog McKenzie
The golf cart.
Arian Foster
Yeah, I worked on it a couple weeks ago. I don't know if you want to mention.
Mad Dog McKenzie
That's right.
Arian Foster
Yeah. So it's been in. It's been in the shop. I've called the place a couple times, have not gotten a call back from them, so it doesn't make me super confident.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Yeah.
Arian Foster
In what's happening right now to the old golf cart, I would say there. So there's a rugby team that I played for in Austin. The Austin Huns was the name of the team, and I played there for six years, I think. Six years sounds about right. When I first joined the team, they had just purchased a plot of land east of 183 in Austin, Texas, and they didn't have their own field. In fact, no team in Austin had their own field. They Would have to rent a field to play games on, to practice on, etc. Etc. So they bought a field with the vision of one day having it be, like, the team's entire complex. So for the first, like, four or five years I was down there, I would go out to the field, help them cut trees down, help them, like, make. Level the field to make it so that you can put sod down. Help them put the sod down. We go out there to cut the grass, like, once or twice a week. And it was on this, like, massive, massive plot of land. Now, that's where they practice every single week. That's where they play all their games. It's the nicest field in Texas to get tackled onto because it's, like, nice, soft, good grass. No, no one else has that type of playing field in the entire state. So I would say probably that because I did put. I put a lot of work into it, but it was mainly I would just show up and somebody would tell me what to do, Then I would do that thing. I found out over the years that I'm not good at figuring out what to do on my own when it comes to building something.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Yeah.
Arian Foster
But if you tell me what to do, I will. I will contribute. Also, getting to build that playscape with Blake Bortles down in Jacksonville was pretty fun. We just did that a couple weeks ago.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Shout out to that man.
Arian Foster
Shut up. Like, portals. What about you, big T?
Big T
I don't know. I tried to pick a degree where I'd have to do as little manual labor as possible throughout my career. I'm. I'm. I'm terrible. I don't like building furniture. I hate it. The fact that there is furniture in my house is a testament to. I'm proud of that because I absolutely despise it. Yeah. I don't know. I. I try to. To let other people take care of that. I'm willing to pay for convenience.
Mad Dog McKenzie
I'm not a handyman.
Arian Foster
Once you get older, you realize that can be.
Mad Dog McKenzie
It's just. I'd rather not be. Yeah. I will pay for you to come assemble my. Whatever I got to get done.
Big T
Yeah.
Arian Foster
Yeah. At some point, you reach. Part of getting older is realizing what your limitations are.
Voicemail Caller
Yeah.
Arian Foster
And accepting those.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Like, I think. So cooking is one Right. Where, like, I. I love. Like to sit down and cook for somebody that I love.
Arian Foster
Yeah.
Mad Dog McKenzie
That's fun. But as far as, like, manual physical mowing the lawn and, like, that. I'm not. That. That. That train skipped me. Yeah. No, thanks. Yeah, I'D rather not.
Arian Foster
That said, I can't wait to get back home and get to work on the El Camino because you're just going
Big T
to be in a perpetual state of work.
Arian Foster
Yeah, that's what I realized.
Mad Dog McKenzie
So.
Arian Foster
And I'm, I'm not exaggerating when I say that, like, if you're a single lady out there that's 50 to 70 years old, first of all, all right, Arian. Second of all, go get an El Camino. Get you a 1970s El Camino. Because the amount of 60 year old dudes that will like pull over just to say hi to you, to talk to you about your car will be staggering. If you're looking to meet old dudes, that is the one. It's dad magnet. It's crazy.
Mad Dog McKenzie
50, 50 year old pull up on me in El Camino. Talking about some. What's up, Youngin? Yeah, you, ma'. Am. What's happening?
Arian Foster
I, I pulled into Home Depot the other day and this guy walked up next to the car.
Mad Dog McKenzie
It's the oldest you can say, by the way.
Arian Foster
I know, I know. And, and he, he was like, he was like, what? Tell me about the thing. Is that a 6.7? And I was like, it's a 454 big block. He goes, yeah, I know, but is it this other thing? Like he was, he was digging a little deeper.
Mad Dog McKenzie
He was, he wanted to talk car with me. He was, he was tested you.
Arian Foster
And I was like, it's a 454 big block, right? And he was so disappointed.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Don't. No, bro. I could see that by, by the bearing rings of the transistor fuel pump.
Arian Foster
He looked at me like I was, he was like casual. He, he was like so excited to have this conversation. Realized I could not hang with him talking car. And then he just walked away.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Big dicked you?
Arian Foster
Yeah, he just walked away. And I was like, ah, it's like
Mad Dog McKenzie
someone coming to you and be like, yo, is that F14? And you're like, come on.
Arian Foster
Like, no, come on, man. Swept wings. Of course it is. What else do you think? Is it F111 completely different dip this.
Mad Dog McKenzie
And he goes home and says, this guy pulls up with an El Camino. There's no about it.
Arian Foster
He's mad at me. I'm telling you that this guy was, was upset. If I could only find out what he was actually thinking as he walked away. He was like, you don't deserve to have that car. But. Good question. Mad Dog McKenzie. Have you guys. Is there anything out there that you guys have built.
Madeline
I don't build things. Nope. I pay for people to build things for me. Yeah, I don't think so. Like I built my dresser like ikea.
Arian Foster
Yeah.
Madeline
Or maybe like when I was younger, like arts and crafts, like a birdhouse or something.
Arian Foster
Yeah.
Madeline
Bracelets. But no, I don't. I try not to. I try not to build this community.
Arian Foster
There you go. I like building. The problem is after it's built, it's never what I had in mind.
Madeline
No. I recently, I moved out of my apartment last week and obviously that requires a lot of like taking things down and uninstalling things. And I, I kind of got into a pickle because my toolbox, like quote, quote, unquote, two boxes. Just a Lululemon bag with like a couple different Allen wrenches I've discovered along the way. And so I literally just had to pay my movers amount of money. I wasn't really looking forward to, to actually just throw away everything, like every ounce of furniture I have because it's not coming with me to my new apartment. And I actually just had nowhere else to put it and I couldn't undo it myself. So. Yeah, no, I don't build smart.
Arian Foster
All right, well, we will see you guys on Thursday morning and I hope you guys enjoy. Love you guys.
Mad Dog McKenzie
Free show.
