That was a good summer because you've got like your, your friends have kind of like explored outside of high school. They've got other friends that are stopping by from college. Everyone's kind of like intermingling. You've got like at least one or two guys that probably has their own place like an apartment that you can chill at and.

Yeah, but you have like, most people probably have jobs. You have like responsibilities.

[Big T]

Yeah, but you're. No, the jobs that you have at are pretty much jobs to like keep you afloat so that you can buy beer.

I think that's a good one for different reasons. There, there's other summers that I would say like going into like freshman year of high school, that's a good summer.

I think there's a lot of anxiety with that.

[Big T]

Yeah. You got football practice coming up.

Yeah. And I think you just high school, a whole different animal. You don't know what's come. I think that's an anxiety riddled summer.

[Big T]

Yeah. Going into junior, going to senior year, both those two, those are good years.

[Aryan]

7th to 8th grade I think could be a good one.

[Big T]

That's a good one also. Yeah. You're kind of like going back to middle school.

[Aryan]

Yeah.

But yeah, going. If you're going into junior year, you got your car, some people have jobs, you're up to no good every day. That's a good time. Yeah, that's a good time. But I would also say like after your freshman year of college. That's a good one. Except then there are some friends that are just like, oh, I hate being back in my home. I hate coming back to this town. I can't wait to get back to school. It was wet blankets, you know.

You know it wasn't until I was like, not to make this about me, but it wasn't until like I retired that I really had like a real summer. Yeah, every, every summer my whole life was always like prepping for the next season and so like it was always training or some Kind of like team activities. And then my first summer, I was like, this is kind of nice. Yeah, it's kind of nice. Yeah.

Now you get to see, like, how the rest of the world lives, where it's just like, summer is just no responsibility as much as possible.

Yeah, it was dope. Now I'm 10 years in.

Yeah, summer. Summers are great. There's some people that are summer haters. I've come to realize that a lot

of summer haters out there, the Europeans.

Well, they're all here for the World cup and they're just on everything they can. And so they're saying it's too hot. The stadiums are. Are too nice. They're too good. Yeah, the. The grass isn't right.

My beer is too cold. Yeah, yeah, that's actually true in the case of people from England, like, make this a little bit more room temperature.

There is one guy, though. Pft. I know you saw him, this German guy who. He's been in Atlanta for the World cup the last few days, and he's been live tweeting his explorations. And that is a glimmer of hope into what social media can bring us because it's. It's magical. I love this guy.

It's pretty great. He went to Waffle House, experienced that for the first time. If you go to Waffle House, I think that's something that translates across all cultures. Anyone can go to Waffle House and have a good time, have a good meal, that. That would be enough. Like, if I went to Germany and. And they had their equivalent of Waffle House there. That's the kind of restaurant that would make me want to move to a country.

Yeah. He was driving through Gainesville, Georgia, saying how beautiful it is. Went to Walmart for the first time.

Depends which one he was at. This looks like a pretty good one. You just generally. Yeah, I like a Walmart.

Not that Walmart was Ever Particularly like a fancy store to go shopping at, but I feel like it's gotten worse. I used to go to. There's Walmart. There are two Walmarts in Harrisonburg, Virginia. You had the nice one and then you had the bad one that you could go to. Let me tell you what, the nice one wasn't all that nice, but it was still like, okay, that's, that's the bougie one we're going to go to. And I used to walk around sometimes we just go to Walmart at like 11 o' clock on a Wednesday night and just, just marvel at the people on meth just walking up and down the halls, just like looking at the different products on the shelves.

See, when you bring up Walmart, I think Walmart is somewhere you go when you need one or two things, but you also yearn for a bit of mischief. Yeah, I think you can be mischievous.

Yeah. In a Walmart you definitely can. It's big enough where you can like hide out.

It's just a super nice private school in Chattanooga. There's another one, Macaulay, that they have like a massive, massive rivalry, like Fortune 500C Suite. Guys that went to these schools come back to Chattanooga every year and go to that football game. It's like a massive deal.

I think the stuff that he does, like training with the monks and stuff, that's in service of becoming a better basketball player. That's what I think. And I think some people disagree with me on this take. I said that Wimby, I think we would find him to be more annoying if he wasn't French. And I know that seems backwards, that a lot of people be like, oh, no, the French part is annoying. I think he does like a lot of eclectic stuff, like train with monks, like go to parks and draw sketches of statues. And it just becomes part of the wimpy mystique. But if an American basketball player did all this stuff, what I feel like the narrative around him would be like, oh, this guy is a tryhard, or this guy is like oil farming, right? We dominated the game for a large portion of it. I think we were the better team for a large chunk of the game. We had one in the second minute, just a terrible goal. We gave up, uh, a couple guys didn't do their job, one of whom won't be on the field during the World cup, so that's fine. And then the second goal.

Miles Robinson. And then the second goal, we had another kind of lapse in the defense, and they. They curled one in. But I think we're a. We're a very solid team. I think we should can be right there to win our group and then get into the knockout rounds and see what happens.

Yeah, I would agree with that. I thought that we, especially in the first half, I would say the outside of the first 10 minutes of the first half, yeah, we appeared to be the better team against Germany. And I really think that what we've got going right now with our midfield and. And striker connection, I think that there's something special there.

Our attack is awesome. Yeah, they're looking just have to defend.

Yes, that's a big question. Like our attack looks, it's very creative in a way that I don't think I've seen from the US Men's national team before, where they're. They're like exploring through balls and combinations in a way where you don't necessarily see them coming, and they're doing a great job, so I'm optimistic about that. Defensively, we gave our captain ship to a guy that. Do you think he's going to start?

And he just like reached down and grabbed his calf and was like, ow. Oh man. Something bad, something really bad just happened. I better not play anymore. And like kind of went out. I thought that was actually the right thing to do, that he did. I could see Neymar might have done that too by the way he's dealing with some stuff right now. But I look at Tim Ream, I'm like, that's. I hope I'm wrong about him because he's a big dude and I feel like having like that big physical presence is a good thing. But a 38 year old kind of scares me.

Okay, speaking of college football, we've got an update. We've got an update with Brendan Swordsby. So Brendan Sworesby, he. He was suspended, he was banned from playing college football because of some gambling issues that he had that. He admits that he had a gambling addiction.

And there's a judge, a district judge in Lubbock, Texas, granted an injunction that was requested by Brendan Swordsby. So he's now eligible to play in 2026. Yeah, there are just. There's absolutely no. No rule. There's no rules anymore.

And Arian, I know you and I both, when we talked to Senator Schmidt last week about the College Sports act, protect college sports acts, that was called. I don't love everything in it. I don't. But there has to be some sort of enforcement because, like a judge just ruled you can bet on your own games playing college football and that's fine. Can he keep doing it now, like if he.

It's been ruled by a judge that that's fine.

Betting. So betting on your own sport isn't like it's. It's against a lot of the rules of every sports league. Where it becomes illegal is if you start to like shave points or throw a game trying to fix the outcome. That's when it becomes like fraud, money laundering, like that, bribery can, can come into place, which is all like felony stuff. But I think inherently just betting on it isn't.

But isn't that why they got Pete Rose too? Yeah, it wasn't necessarily illegal, but that's why they won't let him in on the hall of Fame.

So Sorsby bet 40 times on his own team while he was at Indiana.

And by the way, he didn't just bet on them to win. Soursby said he was unaware of an October 2022 bet on the under for Indiana's quarterback passing yards or a September 2023 bet on the under for the first half of a Hoosiers football game.

I'm okay with regulation there because that, that, that can introduce mad corruption. Like anytime money, money erodes anything, in my opinion. But especially with sports and especially with kids in sports, you shouldn't be able to because a lot of cats can. The court finds that applicant has demonstrated that he will suffer a probable imminent an irreparable injury if this court does not issue the temporary injunction because he will be unable to participate as a member of Texas Tech University's 2026 football team, including Texas Tech's 2026 football season and one benefit from Elite coaching, training, resources, camaraderie, and regimen that will that only being a member of a Division 1 college football team can provide two, build the skills necessary to maximize his own success during the college football season, as well as that of Texas Tech's football team and each of its players. And three, make an informed decision regarding whether to enter the 2026 NFL supplemental draft, basically saying if he's punished, that sucks for him because he won't be able to play football, which is kind of the entire reason for the punishment.

And by the way, the temporary injunction he was granted is valid until there's a trial. You want to guess when the trial date was set for?

The Gamecocks received a slap on the wrist from the NCAA for breaking a rule about icing. So 12 years ago, icing on a cookie cake would get you an infraction. You are now free to bet on your own team's football games. What a world. Congratulations to Brendan Soaresby. Shame that. The guy that shot President Trump was shot in that. That field in Butler, Pennsylvania, where they redacted two emails that Crooks had sent. So is this that Crooks emailed back and forth with the Butler Sheriff's Office?

So the verbiage that was used was the exchanged emails. I don't know if they sent him an email back or where the emails came. He definitely emailed the Butler County Sheriff's Office prior to the shooting. No one knows what they say because they are redacted. But we do know that On July, well, 13th was the shooting. It just says prior to July 13th that he sent some sort of emails to the Butler County Sheriff's Office and they may have emailed him back. I don't think we exactly know that, but there was some sort of communication with him in the Sheriff's office where he eventually shot Trump.

And so he is being investigated for, I guess, fraud. So it's months after being commuted out of prison.

Yes, his sense was commuted. We talked up when we did our prediction market episode, we talked about the laws and how hard it is to actually run afoul of the law for, for like insider trading with the prediction markets. But this is one of the ways that you can where if you like actively lie about something that's related to you and you commit fraud, that can get you in trouble, that can get you arrested, sent to prison for a long time. He didn't have to do any. He could have just like traded on it and made a little bit of money.

You know what this tells me? Whatever prison he was at wasn't bad enough because if I had been to prison and was only a couple months fresh out and you, you, there's nothing you could do to get me to potentially endanger myself of going back there.

And it felt like 99% of the stuff that I had seen talking about Spencer Pratt was like from Republicans that were not based anywhere close to Los Angeles being like, this guy's going to turn LA around. And then it looks like LA did not vote for him to be first or second.

I think they're actually, if you look at the prediction markets, there are a lot of people that understand how Los Angeles elections work that said, okay, these ballots are still outstanding and they're overwhelmingly Democrat ballots when they come in.

But then why didn't they go to the incumbent Democrat who is in first place and they only went to the woman that was in third place who needed to catch up.

I think they probably, they probably went to both of them.

The mail ins arriving before election day were 38% for Karen Bass.

28% for Spencer Pratt and 20% for Nithya Rahman who was the woman in third place. Mail insurance after election day were 37% for Rahman, 35% for Bass and 19% for Pratt.

So what I'm saying is like the way that they break down, traditionally the ones that come in from those certain areas tend to be more Democratic or more, more left leaning than the ones that come in ahead of time. So that would make sense for somebody that doesn't like Karen Bass, that thinks that she could be further left for that person to get more. A higher percentage from those districts. Again, don't know anything about how la. I did see that there was a lot of stuff that got community noted like right as. Because they were just like taking screenshots from NBC News and not and saying like Spencer did he got zero votes like over the last.

That stuff is so fake. And I don't know. Here's what I'll say if, if there's any hijinks I hope he goes to court and I hope they prove it in court. But there has not been any examples of like any of the election interference or the election like the fraudulent vote stuff that has been proven in court.

I don't know that any are fraudulent or anything like that. I do think it is insane that for some reason only in California we have these month long elections. Nowhere else in the world is this an issue.

You know, there's no way you feel like it's an oddity that the head of the Republican party spent the last six years saying mail in bad ballads are fraudulent. That there is an overwhelming majority of mail in ballots that aren't going to be Republican. You don't think that makes sense?

No, I do think I can, I can accept that mail in ballots are done more by Democrats. I think it's weird that they were. There was a. We had an established statistical framework of what the mail in ballots look like before the election. Now it's a week later and the woman who gave a concession speech shot up in the mail in ballots. Maybe that really happened. But when you take weeks to count them, it creates fair questions. If this, if this was all done on election day, then fine. Nobody would think twice about it.

He's got more of, like, a nationwide appeal from nationwide conservatives than he does in Los Angeles. I think in Los Angeles, he has more of a reputation of being like, why or why would we trust a guy that's like a reality star that's. That has been like, his own family said that he's like, in this just for himself. He's like kind of a narcissist with no experience running anything. Why are we going to vote for him? But his platform is essentially like, Los Angeles is disgusting. And it's like the homeless issue is so bad, you can't go outside in the city anymore. And I think that a lot of native Los Angeles see that. It's like, yeah, it's. Our city has its problems, but this guy's like, essentially on everything and saying that you can't live here anymore. And so then I. That's why I think that the. Is it Ramen, the. The third that surged, the second place?

She's more of a progressive. That I think that if you're asking Los Angeles, which tends to be overwhelmingly Democrat in how they vote, like, if you had to say, like, the more progressive ballots that came in later, I would assume would be for the more progressive person as opposed to being for the Republican that has, like, the Joe Rogan. See, I would think it would be that.

He, by the way, when you were talking about the, the homeless thing, he had like a concrete, here's what we need to do to, he wanted to build treatment centers for like drug abuse. And like he, he actually has policy solutions that are not like far right wing proposals.

I think, listen, if his policies are like, LA has a homeless problem, the limited time that I've spent in Los Angeles, I would tend to agree with that. And it's got a, like a drug problem. I would also tend to agree with that just based on what I've seen. But I also think that other candidates have proposed solutions too. I don't think he's the only one being like, hey, this is a problem. I think some people saw him as like kind of parachuting into politics and being like, we gotta do something about the homeless. And then the national media was like, thank God someone's saying it and kind of ignoring that. Other people have been trying to do stuff as well. Maybe not effectively, maybe they haven't been able to enact the policies, maybe the policies that they have put in place didn't work. But it seemed to be like a more of a national voice towards him than it was a local. That's all I'm pointing out is that, like having a Republican that did not come in first or second in Los Angeles is actually not shocking at all

So ultimately, I think what people might be complaining about will all come out of the wash anyways, no matter if he runs against Karen Bass, even though she's got, like, more than her share of baggage. Like, the more progressive candidate would then lose more than half of her votes to go for the Republican. I don't know if that would ever happen.

So the one recently was if you could take across all the sports but Big T, I'm curious your answer, being a big college football guy, but if you could take any two teams across all sports and match them up in the head to head, who would you choose? So my example was the 2001 and the 2019 or the 2001 Miami Hurricanes and the 2019 LSU Tigers. I think that that would be an insanely entertaining matchup. I'm currently seeing this girl. She's from France. She's an au pair so she's been here for about a year. So we've been seeing each other for about four months, I'd say. And she's great. You know, I definitely say I'm in love with her. She's in love with me. You know, everything's going well. You know, I can see a future with her for sure, long term. But the but is she's supposed to be going back to France for a year, up to 18 months in December. And she doesn't know if she wants. She's going to be coming back after that to finish school. The reason she's going back and she doesn't know if she wants to live in America long term. So I was just curious if y' all have had any experience with a long distance relationship like that and kind of what yalls opinion on that is. But now, love the show. Huge. Paris could be a fun place to live. Yeah, I would agree with that. Sounds like the bigger concern here is that you ultimately Aren't planning on ending up in the same place to begin with.

But I will say with the long distance relationship, if you two don't talk about what your lives look like, it. It becomes harder to understand why you're doing all of the hard stuff now.

Right. If you are dead set on staying in Georgia and she's dead set on living in Paris for the rest of her life, it's hard for me to see how those two paths converge as much as.

But if there's an understanding that you're working towards something and you rock solid on trust, then it could be great.

Hey, got home, little shit like that, it can develop little annoyances that can fester into resentment over time. And like PFT was emphasizing, trust is a big thing. So that over communicating. And then like you said, I think the big point is giving an end date. Okay? We're building towards this day to eventually be together. Because it's not like you just fuck with each other. You said you were in love. If you're in love, which is a real thing, it's when. It's when time stops. It's when. It's when the glow happens.
