You know, I remember when we never used to negotiate with terrorists here. We negotiate with terrorists repeatedly, constantly. I understand the reason for it. Trust me, I do. But they are terrorists. And why would terrorists keep their word? They're called terrorists for a reason, right? They're not civil. They believe Allah has told them to do what they do. Allah has told them to kill, destroy, torture, rape, brutalize. In order to conquer, devour and convert other people. Murder them if you must. It's okay. In the most horrific ways possible, they claim Allah directs them to do it. So when they're at negotiation table, these terrorists, they don't have a Western mindset, okay?

They exist to do what they're doing. Does anybody understand that? Because I think the west, our leaders in the west, whether it's Europe or

here or they're having trouble getting their heads around this.

So when they're, quote, unquote, negotiating,

And I just hope that the people who are negotiating for us, Witkoff and others, understand this. But even if they do understand it, then I don't think we'd be going through all these steps, do you, Mr. Medusa, this is not an enemy that you can have a detente with. It's not an enemy. Well, let me put it this way. The President has said over and over again, they're nuts, they're lunatics, they're sick. Well, that's all correct now. Do you think they slaughtered 50,000 of their own people in January? They're executing them left and right as I speak. Nobody even talks about it anymore because they. They want to make some deal. Their foreign minister said a week or two ago, he said, we're not going to give you at the negotiating table what you can't get on the battlefield. So I'm deeply concerned about this because the one thing nobody's talking about, and you won't find it in any newspaper, you won't find it in any. On any website, you won't find anywhere. Enforcement.

How do we enforce whatever we agreed to? How do we find out if they're violent? Well, we'll have satellites everywhere.

If you look on the map, they already, they already were able to do a number of things that we didn't know about, like the distance of their ballistic missiles. How's the satellite going to figure that out? How are we going to stop the Communist Chinese, our new buddies? They're not our buddies. They're our enemy. How are we going to stop them from helping Iran if we find them helping Iran, what are we going to do?

Not a damn thing. What are we going to do if we find Russia helping Iran? Nothing. North Korea? Nothing. And that includes when President Trump leaves office. Who's going to do anything? Look at how we. We go on and on and on about a gallon of gasoline. And I'm going to get into that in a moment. Of course, it's much higher. But again, I want to get into this with you. I'm not unsympathetic about it. It's significant. But context is everything. Context is everything. I went to the ATM machine today. They used to charge three bucks for its use. Now it's four bucks.

What are you going to do? Right, Rich? What are you going to do? I don't hear a hue and cry over that. I didn't hear a hue and cry when the price of gasoline went up under Biden.

But that's a side point. I don't even want to get into that.

I want to get into our sacrifice, the great sacrifice we're making in order to ensure this country or that regime, better said, doesn't get a nuclear weapon. But it's more than that. You know what else we're not discussing

in addition to enforcement? Ballistic missiles. Ballistic missiles. They're the size of a yellow school bus, a big school bus, and they do massive damage. And the Iranian regime had close to 10,000 of them. Now, they may, according to what I've read, have a thousand or eleven hundred of them. They've come to be able to make them rather easily in the big scheme of things. Putting it in context with the help of Communist China, with the fuel that they need, a specialized fuel. I don't even hear that being discussed. Not a word. What about Hezbollah? Hezbollah survives when they're on their back.

And what about the politics of all this? We want to win the midterm elections. If there's a deal made, do you think the Democrats are going to sit back and applaud? Well, we got a great deal here. I'll tell you right now what they're going to say. It's Obama 2.0, that there was no

Supplies such as gasoline, butter, sugar, and canned milk were rationed because they needed to be diverted to the war effort. The war also disrupted trade, limiting the availability of some goods. For instance, the Japanese Imperial army controlled

the Dutch East Indies, Today's Indonesia, from

March 1942 to September 1945, creating a shortage of rubber that affected American production. On August 28, 1941, FDR issued Executive Order 8875. He created the Office of Price Administration, the OPA. Their main responsibility was to place a ceiling on prices of most goods and to limit consumption by rationing. This is what our parents and grandparents

went through, those of us who are citizens and not recent citizens. Americans received their first ration cards in May 1942. Now, the first card, called the War Ration Card Number one, became known as the Sugar Book, for one of the commodities Americans could purchase with their ration card. Other ration cards developed as the war progressed.

Ration cards included stamps with drawings of airplanes, guns, tanks, aircraft, ears of wheat and fruit which were used to purchase these rationed items. The OPA rationed.

Think of the power the government had.

The OPA rationed automobiles, tires, gasoline, fuel oil, coal, firewood, nylon, silk, shoes. Americans used their ration cards and stamps to take their meager share of household staples including meat, dairy, coffee, dried foods, jams, jellies lard, shortening, and oils. Everything was rationed. Americans learned, as they did during the Great Depression, to do without. Sacrificing certain items during the war became

the norm for most Americans. It was considered a common good for

the war effort and it affected every American household. It's likely we're going to take some part of that and give that to them up front and also reduce some of the sanctions. And certainly we're going to monitor their behavior. But nonetheless, it is a lifeline to the regime that extends them for years to come. The next administration is going to wind up having to deal with them. That's not where we started. Remember, we started to weaken this regime, to devastate and take away their capabilities to be a predator in the region, support the proxies for sure, and obviously not have any nuclear capability whatsoever.

I don't even know that we would have been a country any longer. They were destroying our country. They were letting hundreds of thousands, millions of people pour through our southern border. Well, we're in the middle of the runoff. Today is the fourth day of early voting. I had to, you know, leave Texas to come back to D.C. because we had bills on the floor. I thought that we were going to fund ICE and Border Patrol through a reconciliation bill, but that all got jammed up in the Senate, so they left town. So we passed a few other bills, and then I'll be flying back home to Texas tomorrow, get through Memorial Day, go try to celebrate with some folks then. Election Day's Tuesday, and we're feeling good. Mark, we've been crisscrossing the state of Texas. I've gone all over the state multiple times. As you know, I'm endorsed by Ted Cruz, former Solicitor General of the state. So many great organizations and people who back me. Gun Owners of America, national association of Gun Rights, a lot of the gun groups, a lot of the freedom groups, grassroots and Tea Party folks, Jenny Beth Martin and the folks who've been in the trenches for so long. And my good friend Mark Meadows, as you know, former chief of staff, President Trump, and proud to have your support, my friend. And, you know, we're going out and talking to the voters. But my opponent, he spent a lot of money. He inherited a lot of money, and he, in the first primary, running negative ads on me out, spent me four to one. So he got a little bit of a lead there. And then the Austin swamp started kind of rallying around him because he's kind of a safe puppet down there and they know that I'll shake things up. And so we've raised a lot of money in the last month. We've been running our ads and matching him and now actually outspending him. And he's feeling the heat. Our polar show us, you know, in the lead and matching him. But it's a dog fight head to head, and we're going to need everybody to turn out to show up to vote. Every vote is going to matter because it's, it's a runoff. And you know how that goes. Not everybody shows up. So who shows up will matter. But we feel great. My primary argument is, is I'm a real lawyer. And you know that as a, as someone who's one of the best lawyers in America, and, and I've been gratified to have you as a mentor and talk to you over the years. But I'm a proud former federal prosecutor, former first assistant attorney general. I've done complex litigation for the AG's office, and I've been a lawyer for the governor and for, you know, a Capitol Hill. And I know how to be a lawyer. My opponent has never been in court. He's never practiced law. He's just managed his family.

No. Well, one time. One time, barely. Yeah. He had to defend himself for crashing his family Ferrari, the company business Ferrari. But, yeah, but no, he's. Look, I've known him a long time. I don't wish him ill, but, man, he's run some cheap shots and some negative ads. Some of the nastiest stuff I've seen accusing me of things are totally false and lying. So we've been punching back for the last month and. But we've been trying to be straight up and honest. He's not a lawyer. He's not ready for prime time. He means a lawyer. Technically, he's not a practice lawyer. And. And he's made some bad decisions. And we've been highlighting that to people, and they've been responding. They like my background, my story, my commitment to Texas, my conservative credentials. And. But we need everybody to show up on Tuesday.

All right, so it's this coming Tuesday, and it is absolutely crucial. Crucial. All you Levinites out there in Texas, this is a big one. We want our man Chip to win. He's a big deal. I mean, we saw you last week on this hearing with respect to what's happening in the country and your state with this. This.

I. Yeah, very much. I mean, you know, Amy Mack has done a great job with the, with the Rare Foundation. I had Amy testify, as you know, you saw. And we had that young man, Marco Hunter Lopez, a student from Wiley High School near Dallas, and then another great guy, Emin Blair from the Texas Public Policy Foundation. Anyway, we had this great hearing, and what I call it, Mark, is the effort to Islamify Texas, or I also refer to it as the March of Islam, because it is a march, because they are at war with us. They've declared war on us, and we're acting like they haven't and it was the last conversation, Mark, that I had with Charlie Kirk. He had given a great speech about Islam in Oxford and I'd given a stem winder on the House floor. And we were kind of comparing notes and we were both concerned about how much American don't get the existential threat that Islam poses to us. And I don't beat around the bush, right? I mean, we can talk about Sharia law. It's offensive and it undermines the Constitution. You're a smart lawyer. And you know why? Talking about Sharia law is a part of our core legal argument. But I also make the argument that Islam itself is primarily a political ideology that is trying to masquerade behind the First Amendment to carry out jihad against the west. When we've got ample evidence from the Muslim Brotherhood, memoranda from other documents, from imam's own mouths or own words in Texas, what they're trying to do, and the vast network and array of care and the Muslim Brotherhood and nonprofits all over the nation that are all organized to push Islam into Texas and throughout the country. And it's working. There's 330 mosques in Texas. And by the way, Mark, of all the reasons that I'm running for attorney general and there are several, the predominant one, besides wanting to be in Texas with my family, which is a big one, is to stop the march of Islam. Because, Mark, if we don't, there is no country left. And it's assault on my Jewish brothers and sisters, as you well know. It's an assault on my Christian brothers and sisters. It is an assault on our Jewish Judeo Christian principles that built this nation, that built Western civilization. And you know what, by the way, that's something that pisses me off, is when I get people that say chip. And my Christian brothers and sisters say, why do you say Judeo Christian principles? Or. Because that is at the core of who we are in Western civilization. And you know, look, we can debate all those issues all day long, but you can't debate our history. You can't debate what built the West. You can't debate what the west has meant for freedom and prosperity for the world. And when you want to insert Islam into that mix and they want to wage jihad against us, then we've got to fight back. And that's, that's my view. And I feel very, very strongly about this.

I'd like to think of myself as one of you. Paul Reveres. Yeah, this is how, and this is how I teach birthright citizenship. Persons that are born are babies, the infants. That's what we're talking about. We're talking about our children's children's children. So this is their heritage. This is their inheritance. This is their birthright. This is the bloodline. This is citizenship by blood. The other one is naturalized in the United States. These are citizens that are citizens of the soil. And most Americans are both citizens of blood and soil. So those people that are born here, that are citizens of another country have no connection to us by blood. Then the children leave. They have no connection to us by soil. They are by definition can't be a citizen, as it's never been the definition of citizenship. So I teach it. It's simple. It's blood, your inheritance to your children, or it's you're a citizen of the soil.

Okay, Mark. I've been a small business owner for almost 40 years now. Wow. And small businesses are actually the backbone of this U.S. economy. And we employ more people than all corporations combined. I'm not here to do small business, but it really underscores how vital we are to this country, to the workforce and innovation. And I talk to a lot of people every day. About 80% of my employees are millennials and Generation Z. And what I'm concerned about coming up

is their fuel prices.

[Caller Andrew Mayfield]

They have a big impact on our economy. When fuel costs rise, people have less disposable income and cut back on spending, which in turn slows down down our overall economy. And I hear this every day in the. It's not. I understand. I grew up in the 60s underneath my school desk and, you know, practicing the drills and all that. And not to downplay our millennials and generations ease, but do they really understand this and what's going to happen? I'm concerned about our midterms. If these few prices don't go down, I really think we have have a good chance of losing our midterms.

I don't disagree with you, but here's my concern. We make a deal with them, right? Then they go back on the deal, right? Then they shut down that straight again. What are we going to do? Send the military in again? I don't think we Are. So my view is, let's do it,

get it over with. These guys are terrorists.

They're going to keep using threats and terror against us. And the sooner we do that, the better.

I mean, this two weeks ceasefire, it's

been six weeks now.

So it's a question of how do we get it over with, how quickly

do we get it over with?

And so to me, it also helps with the price of fuel in the midterm elections. There's a lot of people who want to want a victory. We've had enough of these, you know, terrorists. We want to end it now if we can. And if they're going to come back for more, and I fear they would,

the price of fuel is not going to adjust properly. But you're right about the price of fuel. It needs to come down. But you're right about something even more than that, which is the mindset. And you said it earlier, you said, I don't know if they understand what these threats are, and I don't think they do. And the reason is if somebody's in their 20s right now, or their 30s even, they've never had to face a possible draft. If you want to go to war, if you want to be in the military, it's a choice, you can volunteer. And many aren't even that really tuned into 9 11. The 25th anniversary is this September. And they're really not thinking that way either.

So it is a problem.

So I am calling about the birthright citizenship issue. I. I'm a huge fan of your show. I listen to it every day at Planet Fitness. Thank you. And I'm just wondering what.

How you.

How specifically you are interpreting your own kind of ruling on the 14th amendment? Because, you know, reading it as plain text, they don't mention slavery. They do mention slavery, specifically in the 13th Amendment.

[Caller Andrew Mayfield]

Priority.

Well, you got to figure out jurisdiction. What do they mean by that? Right. What do they mean by that? So in order to understand what you mean by it, you have to interpret the language as it was interpreted at the time. What they wrote it, adopted it, the states ratified it, and it became part of the Constitution. What did that mean? What was the context for it? The context for it was. And they said it, and they said it in the debates. Allegiance to this country and no other.

It's a baby. The parent comes in illegally. Their home country views them still as

[Mark Levin's Co-host/Producer]

a citizen of their home country.

[Mark Levin]

We do not view them as a

[Mark Levin's Co-host/Producer]

citizen of our country. And so they have a child here.

What makes that child a citizen?

The child. It's a baby. How can it have allegiance to our country or not? And they made exceptions for it when they did this.

Like, if a diplomat has a child,

nobody argues that that child in our country is an American citizen.

If a tourist has a child, they're not automatically a citizen.

[Mark Levin's Co-host/Producer]

Although we have now these tourist businesses, particularly the communist Chinese, doing it because they're having tens of thousands of babies here. They go back to Communist China, and then they'll come back to the United States as citizens, and many of them spies.

So when you're reading the Constitution and you see this word jurisdiction, jurisdiction can mean many things. So how do we figure it out? Well, what did the authors of the amendment say?

Well, they told us what they meant.
