Troy Millings
Let's change lives.
David Shands
Let's change community. Let's do it.
Troy Millings
Yes.
Rashad Bilal
Let's get it. Let's get it. All right, so a few things we got to talk about. But first we're going to start off. It was earnings week last week.
David Shands
Yep.
Rashad Bilal
So a few interesting things happened during earnings, but one of the. One of the biggest ones was that Tesla reported and Tesla reported, and when they reported, they reported a net profit loss of 71%. What? 70. At the office, Tesla reported a sharp 71% drop in net income for the first quarter of 2025, earning 490 million compared to the same period last year. The decline was driven by falling vehicle deliveries, which were down 13 and a 20 reduction in automotive revenue.
David Shands
There's another interest set that was in there. There's regulatory credits, meaning, like when you buy EV and you get credit, that actually was more than the operating profit margin of the quarter. Think about that.
Troy Millings
Literally liability of our asset.
Rashad Bilal
So it's a few interesting things at play here, right, because we talked about that on Monday. As far as Tesla, I was saying that, you know, I, I think it's a misnomer to say that Tesla's a tech company, it's a car company, and cars is their main source of income. And that's not been going well. And everybody knows about Elon. And so there's a lot of negative situations. But yeah, after, after 71 dropped, the stock actually went up, which is interesting.
David Shands
Right? When that conversation last week we said, now I remember saying this, right, They've had terrible lead ups into their earnings report. And after their earnings report, somehow they always seem to have the, the stock price go up. It was like, what's the next trick? What's the next trick? And boom, here comes the next trick.
Troy Millings
Well, he got on the conference call and did that. Baby, I'm gonna do better play.
Rashad Bilal
Well, that's so that's the thing. So people was wondering, they're like, okay, everything is going downhill for, for Tesla as far as the numbers are concerned, Elon, public perception, everything. Why is Tesla stock going up? And it went up, I think like two days in a row. Yeah, I did a report, except it's.
David Shands
Up 20 over the past five days.
Rashad Bilal
So the thing about it is that it's mainly up because he said that he was going to spend less time at Doge and focus more of his attention back on Tesla. And based off that, a vote of confidence was given by the market that they were happy that he would, he would refocus his energy on Tesla and, and make this, this, this thing work. So I'll let everybody get their perspective. But for me personally, like I said, I don't think it's going to work because Tesla is already having serious problems in China, in America, in Europe. We've talked about all this stuff and just because Elon says, okay, now, now I'm going to focus again, that's like, you know, being in a marriage and then just checking out for two years, okay, now I'm gonna be the husband that you want to be. Like two years have already passed. Financial gaslighting yeah.
David Shands
I'm gonna be a better man.
Rashad Bilal
But I tell you what, it's a, it's, it does speak to some level of privilege because some people are afforded the opportunity to fail and there's no consequences for it.
Troy Millings
Yeah.
Rashad Bilal
Like if, if he was another CEO, if he was a different person, it wouldn't even like the whole thing of like di hire is because they're saying that people's not competent to do what they want to do. Right. Like, so it's like, it's pretty amazing when you can literally just take eight months off at a time, ruin a company and then come back like, you know, my bad, I wasn't focused. You're rewarded for your negligence. So it's a lot of interesting dynamics, but what's. What's your take?
Troy Millings
I'll pick up from where you look. You left off. Remember last year, two years ago I was saying there was a mistake to discount the price of the cars and he wasn't focused. And he'll probably go to chairman because he sees that Starlink is the brightest star in the draft. We'll talk Wednesday about draft miss selection. But I do think a focus Elon is a dangerous Elon. But I don't. I think it's been a long time since he's been focused on this car company. Parents I know at the family reunion and after school you always tell your kids you love them equally. But the truth is when you build portfolio companies you have and Tesla for a long time has not been that for him. We look at the company. I know some of people push back about it being a tech company and have technology in it that is almost antiquated. Now everybody got the big iPad. So do I like the LIDAR system? Yes. But gross margin 17. Net margin 6.72%. And when you got reclassified shot brought this point when you go from luxury car to now it's like a select car in the Uber that is not great for classification standpoint. And then when your CEO leads for eight months at a time or nine months at a time to run a failed effort when. And it also made his popularity rating go down to the lowest it's ever been in 15 years. Do I think there's some asymmetric risk here? Yep. If we get to104.03 I would like to pick up some more shares there. But I think Tesla has lost his lead and advantage by not being focused and focusing on the things that matter to their consumer.
David Shands
Yeah, I think Elon, it's, it's, it's interesting, right? I'm glad you brought up the word privilege because had this been another CEO like this on a complete miss. To have that level of confidence put into a stock is ridiculous based on the CEO. But we've seen it before, whether it was him in 2021 when it was the remnants of, hey, he's focusing on SpaceX and now his attention is there and he's kind of forgot about Tesla or whether it was Starlink in 23 and his attention was there and that's going to be the thing that gets him out of this and. But he forgot about the main thing and in fact we even had about yo. When the main thing is the main thing, you got to make sure you treat it like the main thing will get you to a different place. I'm sure Starlink will be one of those innovations that revolutionizes technology from a connectivity standpoint for sure. But the main thing right now is the EV company slash with tech components, which is another part of the confidence that, that, you know, a lot of the, the stockholders and the shareholders saw. And so now him saying, I'm going to refocus, I'm going to get back to it. The confidence is there. The other part is, is the belief. Right. So when you looked inside of the, the call, what do you talk about? Autonomous driving, that's still on schedule. Before it was going to be delayed, now it's still scheduled for June. The robo taxi, same thing. What he didn't mention was what they're going to do with the cybertruck, which is it hasn't really worked out the way they thought it would. And what is going to happen with the Model Y? They were supposed to put out a new one, then when they dropped the board, it's not selling the same way. So what, what do you do inside of that? Because that's your bread and butter, right? That Model Y is the number one seller you just talked about 13 decline in sales year, year to date, as opposed to last year. So what is the Model Y? What's going to change it? What type of innovations are going to happen inside that? Are you going to, to customize it? I know some of the things that people who are, you know, big Tesla drivers are some of the things that they're looking forward to or want inside of a vehicle.
Troy Millings
So what happens there?
David Shands
Right, but the thing is like the main thing is still the main thing. Yes, you're going to refocus, but we've seen this happen before, right? Look at 21, look at the stock, look at 23. Look at the stock, look at 25. I'm gonna refocus. I'm gonna be a better man. I'm gonna be a better man. Yeah. Believe in them. And so this is what we see. 20 in five days is crazy to have the type of miss that they had. It doesn't really add up. It doesn't make sense. So when people ask, you make sense of it.
Troy Millings
I mean, there is a difference. When Michael is on a court versus BJ Armstrong, though, we can't act like his shots. Bj, I want to smoke. But when, if he's in office, in headquarters and a sound mind, he is still one of the richest men of all time, one of the greatest entrepreneurs of all time. But for everyone who keeps saying that they're a tech company, if they're attacked on Nintendo 64, that's a fact, I can name you 20 car companies that are comparable and better. And we cannot forget or be remiss if we did chat GPT shares right from under his palms. There are some major missteps here. And if you just go to the list of reasons prayers for Elijah Arenas, let one of these kids die in that truck, it's going to be over with. The great part about having bulletproof glass and all that because you misstepped on the stage the first time, that is bulletproof. The bad part is if there's a accident, it's really hard to get people out of here. A lot of design flaws in there. So you keep. And it's the thing that I think we're seeing a lot, a lot of people are taking our eyes off the main thing and jumping off the vehicle that's going to take you to glory and then you get that final notice and then you don't, you know, so I mean, Elon's the richest man that is publicly reported on the planet. He will be fine. But the fact that they do not have a bigger lead, at least in my criticism of Apple, they had a 30 or 40 year run since 2019.
David Shands
Really?
Troy Millings
And a lot of that had to do with Kathy and the bitcoin community supporting him and the early Internet ad supporting. Been too many missteps for a car brand.
David Shands
Yeah, there was, there was a time when there was a correlation or a perceived correlation between the price action of Tesla and bitcoin. I know Elon had it was a big supporter and invested in bitcoin. You said you think there's 20 company car companies better. 20.
Troy Millings
I mean, we can go through everything that who Owns. I mean, we got the Ferrari brand, got the Chrysler's. Not if you took that logo off and put on a Volkswagen logo on it. Nobody want to drop that car. They tell you right back there.
David Shands
All right, we're gonna come back with a list next week.
Rashad Bilal
So. So as far as the stock, as far as a stock, is this something that people should be bullish on or is it something that you like you said that you think it's going in 100, so obviously you're not bullish on it. So.
Troy Millings
So that's the price. Ideally I would want to buy it. So my, my thing as an investor is great. Lesson, lesson of the day. Number one, where can I buy a stock? No choice but to go up from that point, it goes to 104. Even with a little MAGA salute, no ts, I can see it getting back to 280 if it falls that far and maybe six or seven months. But because he's back focused, it also two concerns. If we see that he's not there frequently, who in management sees he's not frequently there and it's trying to play the takeover. Number two, how focused is the management bench he's been going for? Anybody who works in corporate, you know, if the leader is away, things are going to be go a little bit awry and then the prisoners are going to run for a while. So am I bullish on it? Yes. But let's be honest. This autonomous thing that he wants to pull off, you're not ahead of Waymo and nowhere near close. Uber has a better chance of just licensing vehicles from another EV company to put. Because they already have the networking infrastructure together.
David Shands
Yeah, yeah. Way more streets down the streets. But that, that 104 number is interesting because we're talking maybe the floor here, but there is that psychological number. I've been reading some supports. I know Barron's was talking about seeking outfits, talking about it, that 300 number. Right. And the reason they're saying it is right, there's that first resistance probably around 294. But yep, before that 300 mark is like if it hits 300, if it can stay over there intraday and close there, then we might see it tick up to maybe 315, 320, and then who knows where we can go from there. So those are just those. Sometimes the psychological number, like we talked about it with Bitcoin, when it gets to a seventy thousand, when it gets to a hundred thousand. So just that psychological barrier that. All right, this is something I need to invest in. So keep Your eye out for those numbers as well. If it hits that 300 to 305 and it can close there and stay there. It'd be interesting to see where where or how much of appreciation happens after that.
Troy Millings
Yeah. Also too we have to be mindful. Tesla's fan base isn't as strong as most cryptocurrencies. The thing that's hurt him. You can't leave. Okay. You can't leave your main thing then go to your side and then your side. They don't want to come back home. Let's be the Doge thing is not working.
David Shands
You sure?
Troy Millings
Allegedly been a few kerfuffles inside that office. And for all you MAGA supporters who think I'm just kicking this back in. I'm getting information from inside. I love so much y'all never been.
Rashad Bilal
To so you so you're not not bullish on Tesla stock.
Troy Millings
If it goes to or let me give a fair price. If it goes to 151. I'm elated to buy any other price above that is too high. And it's been in stock for five years. I personally haven't executive portfolio since 2019. The company has just been mismanaged like crazy. And we told you from the very beginning, give a 90180 days and I'll be fighting cats and dogs.
David Shands
We're 100 days in, man.
Rashad Bilal
Lowest approval rating in the history 80 years.
Troy Millings
We're winning so much. I'm tired of winning so much winning.
David Shands
All right, shout out to Saquan. Is he. Is he on the list?
Rashad Bilal
Saquon Barkley. Is.
David Shands
Is he on the list?
Rashad Bilal
No, for Wednesday.
David Shands
For Wednesday.
Rashad Bilal
I'm asking Wednesday.
Troy Millings
What else for blackout.
Rashad Bilal
Saquon. Yeah, we gotta talk about it.
David Shands
Okay.
Troy Millings
Yeah, we definitely got to talk about it. I knew what he wanted.
Rashad Bilal
Not gonna he announced that.
Troy Millings
Come on. Okay, so not the private luncheon before the private luncheon.
Rashad Bilal
I mean it's not. It's not surprising really. Omar.
Troy Millings
Wednesday.
Rashad Bilal
Omar Johnson. Call my phone please.
Troy Millings
Immediately.
Rashad Bilal
The main number. Call me. We need it. We need an emergency meeting for sure.
David Shands
Please call.
Rashad Bilal
Please. Please. Okay. Okay. All right. One quick announcement. New Haven, Connecticut. We will be there this Saturday for the last tour. You deserve to be rich. We was in Detroit last week and had a great time. Shout out to Detroit. New Haven, Connecticut, this Saturday. You can go to you deserve to be richbook.com to get your tickets. Connecticut. And it's like $30. So for $30, you get the book, you get the information, sign autographs, the whole thing.
David Shands
Yeah, that's right. We have some prize giveaways. Connecticut. We're gonna continue that. We got some surprises for y'all, so make sure y'all.
Troy Millings
And it's just some information ahead of the curve, too. Like when we did one of Houston, we dropped some info. Didn't happen. And you get to be in the room with some people that are actually moving and shaking and doing things like, you can't meet everybody online. Gotta go in person.
Rashad Bilal
That's a fact. You deserve to be. Richbook.com New Haven. We'll be there Saturday. Okay, to the Brother on YouTube. Let's talk about this now. The brother looked like he might have just got out of some substance abuse issues. So I am sensitive to people who have substance abuse problems. But what we can't, what we're not going to do is rewrite history. So it's important to educate the audience because in a day and age where clicks and likes means more to somebody than the love of their own children, we have to be careful with how we're actually right. Because you can report misinformation and that just becomes a fact if it said enough. So to say that earn your leisure has discouraged black people from buying a home is a pretty amazing statement considering 39 videos on YouTube dating back to six years ago actually teaching people how to buy a home. And we actually have the home buyers blueprint volume one, volume two inside of Eyl University. And there's a guy named MG the mortgage guy who's here on earn your leisure market Mondays more than any other guest in the history of earn your leisure. And he's actually a mortgage broker. So Kiana Watson, a real estate agent, recovered Airbnb, okay.
David Shands
Since 2018.
Rashad Bilal
They only gonna kill you by you. You only get attacked by people who have similarities to you. That's how they always. That's how they traditionally done it throughout history. Look at Caesar and Brutus, look at Jesus and Judas. You go through any. This is a historical thing, right? And for black people, there's a. The problem has always come internally, right? So it's like for you to say that we discouraged. And it's such an ignorant way to say it because you said it so passionately that it's almost believable if you sound, you sound smart to a dumb person. Because like I said, we actually have Six years of educating people on how to buy homes. He's like, they telling you not to buy homes while BlackRock is buying up all the homes.
Troy Millings
So are they first told you all about that? Get in a position to be able to spend that kind of money and know maybe for me, I could have done something different also too. When you're lit in real life and you change people's lives, people are going to put a tax on you for you doing well.
Rashad Bilal
That's a fact.
Troy Millings
You keep confusing podcasting with the talking business. We are in the tech and investing business. Y'all keep copying my guy Joe's model. Joe is in the monthly recurring revenue model business. There's too many. Y'all party about nothing. And from what you found.
Rashad Bilal
That'S a fact. Like I said, everybody wants to make content, but this ain't about content. So let me just educate the brother because like I said, I don't think he fully understands how. How things work. I was actually a financial advisor 12 years before I. Before I had like, let's let some. Some people think I might have just started talking about finances on. On Internet. I actually did this for a living for 12 years. And what I did for 12 years was help people get their finances together. And I learned something that was very valuable at that point in time, that there's a lot of people that are making decisions to buy homes that they cannot afford, for sure. And it's putting them in financial debt and it's hurting them because they cashing out their 401ks, they cashing out their savings accounts, they're putting furniture on credit cards. So they're buying a home because they think that they're doing something that's great financially, Right? And they don't realize that they're actually putting themselves in debt. And now they don't have money to invest, they don't have money to start a business. They're buying a $700,000 home. By the time they pay it off, they're paying $1.8 million for it with property tax, all things included. They're not fully educated on it. So what we did, the first things that we did, we pioneered the 4321 strategy. MG the mortgage guy, that's us. That's called house hacking. Right? That's something that we pioneered as far as teaching people how to be homeowners and landlords at the same time. Owning where you live in a multifamily apartment complex, building whatever you want to call it, and then renting out other units While you have positive cash flow and still being a homeowner, that's not discouraging people from being a homeowner, that's educating people. What we did was actually pull the curtains back about the real cost of real estate to show people how much closing costs actually cost, how much you have to actually have for the electric, for the lights, for the furniture, for the. These are things that if you have never owned a home before, you don't know. You think you're just buying a home and that's it. And then it's like, damn, I got to pay 50 extra thousand dollars. Well, that could be life changing, right? That's not discouraging people from buying home. That's educating them to buy the right home that they can afford. Also, the BlackRock comparison is very uneducated comparison because BlackRock is buying homes to be landlords, they're not buying homes to live in. So you're saying that we're discouraging people from buying homes while BlackRock is buying them. That's an apples to oranges comparison. If you're buying a home, you're paying money out, you're paying money to the bank, you're paying money to the heat electric, you're paying money to your town for taxes. BlackRock is buying a home, they're renting it out and you're paying the mortgage, you're paying the. So that's being a landlord and living in a property that you're actually living in is not the same thing.
Troy Millings
Two different things.
Rashad Bilal
It's not the same thing at all. So when you're fully educated on real estate, because we know people like Don Peoples like, who's a billionaire? Who, when we asked the Madison Square Garden what is he encouraged about real estate, he said, you guys are the encouragement because you're teaching people things that I've known for 30 years and I couldn't communicate it. Like, you're the bright spot for real estate. This is a billionaire. What have you done?
Troy Millings
So who have you helped?
Rashad Bilal
It's easy. We live in a, we live in a society where it's easy to criticize people, but we really got to be careful because you're criticizing the most helpful people for the society. Like, we have educated more black people in a short period of time on most colleges, real estate credit, entrepreneurship, stocks than has ever happened. So like you said, for you, it's a pod. You're just potting and you're trying to get $1,000 on Google. But just think about like the danger, the danger that you're actually doing right, because you're talking to people. They might not even have never watched us before. You're providing a lie that's not even factually backed by anything with misinformation throughout it, with an uneducated thesis, and you just running with it like Early Legions is getting paid by BlackRock. That's what happens to black people. That's what happens to black people all the time. Oh, he took money, did that. What you do is you discredit the leader and you. You. You cause chaos. And that has. Has. That has happened systematically. We can talk about the Black Panthers. We can. We can go down a list, right? And you're an agent of chaos, and you have no solutions, and you've helped nobody. And before you know it, all you want to do is just fracture the whole situation for no reason. It's not like you're trying to get your audience up a top podcaster now. You're not gonna become famous. You want to have just a viral moment. So to the brother, I don't know who he is, but like I said, looked like he might have had some substance abuse problems. So if. If he did, I am sympathetic for that, but what I would say is that you have to be educated before you speak, because you're just talking about things that you don't even know. But there's going to be consequences for the things that you say.
Troy Millings
He want to take the diplomatic approach, so I'm glad he went there. I'll save my phone.
David Shands
Oh, man.
Troy Millings
I'll help us. I'm gonna be real. I start talking this investment, it's a lot of people who look like us, and we wouldn't be in it. And the crazy part, like your show, that's the crazy part. A lot of y'all be shooting at people who gonna be the only lifeline when you stranded in the ocean out by yourself.
Rashad Bilal
Yeah, you know what, man?
David Shands
It. It would be worth. That was a great dialogue right there.
Troy Millings
Educational, too.
David Shands
But, like, when I saw it, I was like, there's nothing to really comment on because that just. That takes you away from the mission that you've been put on this earth for, and that's to help people. So, like, every day somebody tells us about how something impacted their lives. Even here this weekend, plenty of people like, yo, man, y'all changed the game for not just me, but for my family. The impact speaks longer than any rhetoric. Will you feel what I'm saying? Like, he won't. We won't be able to write our legacies but the impact and the work that we've done and we continue to do and gonna continue to do, we'll do that. And so shout out to whatever he got going on. And hopefully he can figure that out. But, yeah, I mean, just to not do research tells me how far you've come in the world of journalism, right? If you're gonna report some, at least half the facts, and there's a. I mean, he debunked a bunch of it, but it's just like, if you're going to do it, do it right and be accurate about it and stand on it. And so keep going. Whatever you got going on, you and whoever's behind the camera who was commenting and agreeing with you, shout out to y'all, but. Oh, that's not stopping nothing over here, man.
Rashad Bilal
Oh, and you bozos in the comments, I'm, I'm. I'm taking screenshots. I'm the type of dude that's a psychopath.
Troy Millings
Facts. Now let's look it up. And Troy, you can pan out if you let me restart. That's stupid.
Rashad Bilal
Thank you. Like, I'm taking mental notes. Physical of all y'all. There's a dude right now, to this day, that has never been on the show, that wants to get on the show that did one sucker thing in a comment on YouTube five years ago, and I saw when he did it. And you did maybe say, you want beat you, you want squash, you got to pay us. You'll never get on. So think twice before you bozos in the comments make a comment, because I'm looking and I'm researching who you know and you will never succeed. I'm gonna make sure if it's a personal.
David Shands
Yeah, and you know what?
Rashad Bilal
You know what?
David Shands
And I think it kind of got misconstrued because when we were talking about your own personal experience in vinyl, that's completely different than us educating, but even.
Troy Millings
In this person, educational, like, moment, here's.
David Shands
What'S actually happening in real time. Here's what you can learn from this. It's like we say this all the time. Like, yo, we gonna go through some things so that you don't have to.
Rashad Bilal
Is that like, I could have just been a regular social media guru and said, everything is perfect. I'm actually being transparent with you about that. I'm actually having in real life hope, thinking that me showing you the issue that I'm going through could actually help you. And then you're going to twist it. That's why people don't want to do nothing for nobody facts.
Troy Millings
Especially when you already got it on your own. Okay, great. But once again, get in the position for you to spend the kind of money that he spent to have everything.
Rashad Bilal
Also true.
Troy Millings
It's easy to check that account every woman addictions checks come out 17th that y'all be dying.
David Shands
You said the assets.
Troy Millings
Yeah.
David Shands
23Rd of the month, y'all be hitting refresh.
Troy Millings
Like if I Google what. That's how I know. Like whenever I. I kept telling y'all, everybody just y'all thought was Ling Potter is broke as hell. I kept. And they keep these antics up because things are not going well. And for the record, humbly thank God the spirit is recycled. Every little nemesis y'all seen y'all when we shout out the sky like Prigosian Gotcha I wanna know if I made you money Please put yes in chat. I wouldn't know me. I like yourself.
David Shands
But it's all good, man. It's all good. It gives them something to talk about whether it's false or. Or true. So whatever you gotta do, man. But you gotta go to sleep with. With that man on your conscious, man. We gonna.
Troy Millings
We always gonna be good on this 123 account sheets. You gotta.
Rashad Bilal
And then for the people that's like, yo, no, have them on the show. No, I'm not having you. No, you haven't done anything to actually be verified. If you.
Troy Millings
If you're an enemy op, I'm not helping.
Rashad Bilal
You know, you don't get rewarded for just saying stupid on YouTube. I don't even know you. Like, you're not. No, I'm not happy on the show. Like, we just had a billionaire on the show. What are you talking about?
David Shands
And shout. No. And if we're going to talk about the bozos in the comments, shout out to the people who also in the comments, like, yo, I don't. You got this computer.
Troy Millings
Yes, it was.
David Shands
And I know, Ian, I seen you had commented in there as well, but like, yeah, a lot of people just like, yo, I don't think y got this correct. Like, you might want to retract this. This doesn't even make sense what they actually do. So shout out.
Troy Millings
I get it. Me and Rashad, not likable at times. I get it. But we are not being like, I was in this way before I had a dollar. I'm actually tame now in comparison to what I used Shout out to everybody from Chicago, Indiana, who know, yo, go get your coins. But y'all not gonna do it by trying to be smirch. Our names. Because I will call. But I would get on the phone. Get called. My little Guggenheim connection. Y'all will never see them again. They sold out to the Illuminati. See you at the mountaintop.
David Shands
Or we could just call our friends at blackrock.
Troy Millings
Hello?
David Shands
And Google shout out to Black Rock.
Troy Millings
Violating the terms of service agreements. Be careful, my boy.
David Shands
What community will we buy next?
Troy Millings
Why do you guys even respond to this? You're bigger than that. You got to address all enemy combatants.
Rashad Bilal
That's a enemy combat. That's a fact. Enemy to state treason. You're actually guilty of committing treason. Okay, I digress.
Troy Millings
Yes. I don't know we're gonna do this.
David Shands
But I thought he's gonna save it.
Troy Millings
But I did too. Yeah, we both need therapy, Rashad. That's what it is.
Rashad Bilal
Okay.
Troy Millings
And too many of y'all be jumping off the yacht before we get to what we need to sail to. Then you be cry talking about. I'm sorry. No. It's been a good run in all areas. Enjoy Life jacket.
Rashad Bilal
Okay, back to our regular scheduled programming. Yes. So if you want to create a two tech two index version. Let's get into this centered around healthcare.
David Shands
Let's get into this.
Rashad Bilal
What tool would you recommend for this combination?
Troy Millings
I think this is a great question, but one thing I do want to stress is I want you guys to stay focused on what you have portfolio at the moment because I think too many people once again take their eyes off the main thing I would do. Vo vti, Eli, Lily and Shark, which I've talked about before. I know it's not fun. And this is where men not trying to belabor a point on brother. I think too often times as men we look for the new exciting thing opposed to the thing that's working. There's a reason we don't have trading Thirst Market Mondays is working. Right. Too many people like try and create too much diversity in their portfolio and you end up selling the thing that's great for something that's good where just kept pouring money into the thing that's working. You'll be a. Okay, so great question. If you have currently been investing in Q Tattoo index, don't change. But if I was focusing on a healthcare version, I would do striker annually and hold forever.
David Shands
Striker Lily and hold.
Troy Millings
Interesting.
David Shands
I. I chose specific ETFs in healthcare, so I went with Vanguard as well. VHT and then Spider. You know, we always talk about XLK and we talk about xly. There one is xlv. And I told people in our Class, especially if you're not familiar with sectors.
Troy Millings
Right.
David Shands
ETFs and indexes are probably the best way, but inside of those ETFs, you should go look at the holdings and go look at the largest allocations inside those, those ETFs. And for XLV, you're gonna, I mean, for BHD as well. Lily is usually number one.
Troy Millings
Yeah, right.
David Shands
And number two was UnitedHealth. And so we've, we've watched United Health take a bathroom, obviously with healthcare prices skyrocketing and really no rhyme or reason for it. So I said let. I knew you would probably go traditional with Strike. I know that's one of your favorite companies. And I think we were both, we on Lily. And so I threw two wild cards in there in terms of the healthcare space. And one, we're probably not going to think healthcare, but.
Troy Millings
Madonna.
David Shands
Nah. So CVS is a company that I've spoken about plenty of times and they kind of have this like soul survivor syndrome that is. Is interesting when we think about growing up in the past maybe five to 10 years. There was a Rite Aid.
Troy Millings
That's cool.
David Shands
It used to be a Walgreens in your neighborhood. Good luck if you can find it. And CVS is still here. 9,000 locations. And they have vertical integration, which is very unique in a sense that they have insurance. They bought Aetna, so they have the insurance. Right. They have prescription delivery and they have direct patient care. Yeah, you have all those things in one. Whereas UnitedHealthcare doesn't quite have it. They're the largest provider of health insurance. They don't have all three verticals. So when you think about it in that sense, I'm like, all right. People still look to find out each one of those verticals from different places. Then my wild card came in and I said, well, who can disrupt them from the retail space and who can also disrupt them from the primary care space? And then I came to this company called Amazon and I thought, damn, 9,000 locations is great until you can have same day delivery straight to your house. Now you got a billion locations, right? Because everybody, if you're going to get it delivered, you have to have an address. I'm like, all right, well, that could kick in the door for them from a retail standpoint. But as soon as they have AI agents and Agentic is a big thing for Amazon. And we saw this kind of during COVID when you couldn't go to the doctor, but you had that telehealth situation where you call and you get the symptoms and the doctor would call you as we get further on in this AI space, especially with the jet ticket and we saw industries that will be disrupted law for sure. Healthcare is going to be another one. If Amazon has the agentic AI in the healthcare field with the direct to consumer retail space, I think they become the number two in the healthcare ETF funds going forward.
Troy Millings
Okay, I got a question for you. This is my first pushback I've had. You ever how you pick CVS and Amazon in the same class?
David Shands
No, no, no. CVS is a wild card. Amazon. You know why it's a wild car? It's because it's one of these, these sleeper companies that is in your neighborhood.
Troy Millings
Right.
David Shands
You probably frequent there. But you're not thinking of it as a company that you can invest in. But you, you look at it year to date, it's up 46. Even in the midst of all these tariffs, year to date it's up 46. Has it come down from its highs of 111? I think maybe 10 years ago and it hit another peak of 106. It looks like it's on that upward momentum again. We'll see. But it's just an interesting company. When you think of vertical integration inside of healthcare, that makes it very unique.
Troy Millings
Yeah.
David Shands
But there goes my Amazon again. I know y'all gonna say I'm biased, but it makes the part about the.
Troy Millings
Bias and being upset about a pick. There are only certain companies that are generational company Apple is that for a long time. Nvidia's having their moment. Microsoft has found a way to put themselves back in the conversation. Tesla had a chance. Amazon is one of those ones. Every generation you may get maybe 10 companies or 12 companies that are going to have the 20 or 30 year run and they keep finding what, let's be very honest, Amazon has found ways to innovate better than Apple. It's just not saying because they don't have a Tim Cook at the moment. But over the last three or four years they've done a better job. Sure.
David Shands
And all those companies are still relying on it. And when we talk, when we talk about aws, we could say like yes, Google is on its way and yes, Microsoft is in terms of cloud, but they're still a leader.
Troy Millings
Yeah.
David Shands
And they have the capex to actually spend, to innovate. So I know that their profit margins aren't as wide as a company like Nvidia, but there's a reason for that. They're continuously building and they're not just doing it in one industry, which makes them so unique and is why they become so dominant. And so if they, they enter this from an AI standpoint with the lead of having cloud, having infrastructure, having their own GPUs, they're going to be doing that for a reason. We had this conversation in Virginia. We were talking to a gentleman, 73 years old, and he was talking about he owns land in Richmond. And he was like, I used to sell lumber for like 10 to 15 years, but, you know, it's not that fruitful in a sense where you make maybe six figures, but it takes time to grow the trees.
Troy Millings
Yeah.
David Shands
He was like, there's a new thing that we're going to be doing soon. I'm like, what is it? He was like, these companies keep coming in and they want to build data centers on my land. And I was like, tell me more, tell me more. Yeah. And as we start speaking and he started sharing his knowledge, he was like, yo, it's everywhere.
Troy Millings
It's everywhere.
David Shands
And you can hear it. I mean, you can hear the rhetoric saying people are going to slow down spending and some of that will be true. But the, the mega caps, they're in a race to beat each other for sure. Please know that. Please know that. So if you hear Microsoft saying they did something, just know that Amazon's not. They're not looking like big four.
Troy Millings
Yeah.
David Shands
They're thinking like, no, we need to do more.
Rashad Bilal
Did the market reach its bottom on April 7th?
Troy Millings
I think so. If we don't have any more pressures, if there's not any more impact, I think we did reach that bottom. I mean, also be mindful of a lot of money flows in at the end of March, top of April from funds into the market. So I think, I mean, I did say once we hit that route, that in 60 days we should recover. It looks like I don't see a big drop to surpass that maybe until maybe August. It just really depends. Same with Elon. It depends on what the vision and plan is for the nation. He can stabilize some of this if he just stopped would going off course. No nation or no institution likes a leader that says, this is my firm plan. We're going to war within the next day.
David Shands
It.
Troy Millings
Well, we're going to war, but just with drones or just with boots on ground. It's like, once the plan is in place, you have to stick to it. If we see a lot more stuitiveness from him, I think we'll be able to be able to stabilize for a while.
David Shands
Yeah, I'm with you. And if you look at the emas, I mean the 200 day was at 5666. And so on the 7th of April we were at I think 50 96.
Troy Millings
Yeah.
David Shands
And so you get to, I mean you nearly were under 5,000 for the first time, probably March of 24. So it kind of feels that way when you're that far away from your 200 day, you're that far away from your 400. It's starting to feel like, all right, this, this might be the place where we're stops here and we'll, we'll start to see some certainty coming back into the market. We starting to hear some ease about obviously the semis may have some exemptions. You're starting to hear some auto exemptions. Tesla just got an exemption. So with our administration is saying that we're getting closer to negotiations with China even though they've denied even speaking to us. So we'll see. I think May. Is it May 3rd when one of, I think one of the 90 days expires. We'll see if that gets extended or another tariff isn't inflicted. But it feels like. What was that, what he called it was. It wasn't Judgment Day, Liberation Day. Was that what he's doing on April 3rd? Yeah, I think that the 7th might be one of those days. We circle and look back like that was the floor.
Rashad Bilal
But it's hard to say that though, because once again, technical indicators, you really can't use that when you have things that's out of the realm of that, which is him. He's extremely unpredictable and he's liable to do things at any moment that can potentially still send this whole thing into further spiral global recession. That's not often, that's not totally off the table yet. Like we haven't landed yet. He keeps talking about we're getting deals, but we haven't got one deal yet. Right. Like he's saying, like we're negotiating with 60 countries. He hasn't named one country and we haven't closed one deal. He extended this for, for 60 days or 90 days. Like eventually that extension is going to have to come come up. He said, like you said, he's making, he said he's making progress with China. China denies that. China said that they don't they going to fight until there's no tariffs. They're not, they're not compromising. He said that China said they're not compromising. So.
David Shands
But they also said they were going to take off reciprocal. China did say that the 125% on.
Rashad Bilal
Their end for the other side. So I look at it like, yeah, probably. But yeah, I think that's, that's it. There's a lot of unanswered variables. Another 25 for sure.
David Shands
I think what you, you were kind of going like, I know you raise your hand like you can't predict it, but like you, if we can't just say like, no, we have. If you have to get an answer like these are the reasons why you can justify that answer. If you, I mean sometimes you got to use the technicals to see historically what has happened. Right. So like based on that, does it feel like it could have been the floor? Yeah, I mean during the pandemic, we could have said the same thing in March of, of 2020. Does this, does this look like the floor? Like, well, we don't know when is the world going to open back up? Has that been priced in already? Like all these things, you got to take that into, into account. But yeah, of course there's still uncertainty. Like 90 day tick tock got banned for 90 days and it got banned for another night. Who knows? I mean he'll keep extending until it makes sense for, for him.
Troy Millings
The thing with being an investor in trader, too many traders look for technicals first and not danger first. I've always said this. I look for worst case scenario first. Please write this down. That's why when people start to look at like certain. That's why my thing about 70, 30 is too wide of a margin. If you're going to use the Algorithm, it said 95,5. It puts you at the most extremes of the market. And once again, too many traders or investors always say that they're one or another. But you have to be technical, fundamental and macro driven to factor in all the data points. Here's some tough love. How about y'all take your ass in chat GBT and go from 1827 through now. Every event that has happened that it's in the market lower than 21, factor it in and see what of those can happen over the next four or five years. Easy solution. You can listen to me. If I made you money.
David Shands
The historical perspective, now that's a good way to use your chat gbt.
Troy Millings
Perfect way. I was in chat GP before opening. I had it out to the public.
Rashad Bilal
And I'm gonna just say this.
Troy Millings
Y'all don't put in enough work. Like if you can't see certain things coming. You and Rashad, you brought this up last episode. We know what he's going to do this presidency because he did it the last with the exception of the terror. Every mistake that he can make, people leave out the COVID run and some things towards the end of his election there was a lot of missteps there. You can factor those in, plot those in. If these events act as a world class investor, if these events happen again during this election, how far could that be slide. But if y'all get out the comments on the negativity in the shade room for those who are here, I appreciate it. For those who you may be watching on the clip, spend more time prompting what could happen to prepare before the disaster, before it comes because it doesn't matter once that happens and you've already gotten in 5% from that identification happens.
Rashad Bilal
Yes sir.
Troy Millings
Just my thoughts. Sure. You got me amped up the show fall. It's my passion talking, damn it.
Rashad Bilal
And on top of that, they told y'all not to buy stocks because Black Rock got them. That's a fact.
Troy Millings
That's the next thing coming.
Rashad Bilal
They told y'all credit doesn't matter. They told y'all not to buy stocks.
Troy Millings
Yeah.
Rashad Bilal
Collaboration don't matter. Rashad never said that. That's the dangerous thing about history. You could rewrite it for sure. Rewrite history. That's a perfect example of trying to rewrite history. But what cannot be written, rewritten. Business event in the world. Invest Fest. Talk about that. Real estate workshop on how to buy a home at Invest Fest. Second year in a row. Shout out to MT the mortgage.
Troy Millings
You only did that because he said that.
David Shands
Triple down on it.
Rashad Bilal
Buyers workshop at Invest Fest 2025. Walk you through the process A to Z. You might just do rehabs too. You know what?
Troy Millings
VA loans, he'll put a segment in market Mondays on real estate rehab. And I got the idea. You mind it. Go ahead.
Rashad Bilal
Top of the show, rehab, added Investment. Oh, man. Invest Fest.com. get you in the booths. Yo, man, y'all gonna learn. And we have a New York Times bestselling book. Where in the book it talks about buying real estate.
Troy Millings
You said don't buy books or stocks or houses.
David Shands
No, you told not to read. You told him don't read.
Rashad Bilal
Gotta love the community. Gotta love it.
Troy Millings
We always got to keep our ears up in the feedback.
David Shands
Taking place in Atlanta, Georgia.
Rashad Bilal
Yes.
David Shands
For the fifth in a row.
Rashad Bilal
August 22nd.
David Shands
That's a fact.
Rashad Bilal
Okay.
Troy Millings
If you guys go to CEO of Google, what would you do to make sure that their AI software, Gemini is being used a lot more? Because the gap between open AI Perplexity, Grok and them is getting wider. But I think Gemini is incredible. What would you do to increase the adaptation rate and the use rate of the product.
Rashad Bilal
Comes down to marketing. Right. I think you gotta chat with CBT has that. They. They're like Band Aid.
Troy Millings
Yeah.
Rashad Bilal
In a household name when it comes to AR chat box. So it's like, you know, they're first to market as far as like wide exposure. And it's like Google. Google had became synonymous with search engines. Like just Google it right now it's like Chat GPT doesn't have a nickname like that, but they kind of took that mantle. So I think Gemini can't compete with Chat GBT on that level. They're gonna figure out another angle that they that Chat GPT might not be doing efficiently or might like. I don't think competing on a chat bot is not a great idea. Too difficult to rise to that top. But maybe if they can figure out something that is not as popular yet and just say, okay, the chat. We have a chat bot feature for sure, but this is going to be the main thing that we're going to try to focus on. I think that might be something that's helpful. I'm just not sure what that is. Because the chatbot thing is the most beneficial thing because you can actually use that for anything.
David Shands
Yeah. It's interesting. It. Gemini is the most accurate of the GPTs people are using it. I don't even the problem. People don't know that they're using it. They're actually using it, right?
Troy Millings
Yeah, they're using it works.
David Shands
Right. Well, even if this is part of the law. So this is why they're sitting in front of Congress is because they want to break them up because they feel like they have an unfair advantage. Because Google is a search engine for all Apple iPhones. But they 10 they pay $10 billion.
Troy Millings
They pay the money for it.
Rashad Bilal
Right.
David Shands
If you use an iPhone and you do a series search, it's going to use Google and it's going to use Gemini to make sure that the information is accurate. The problem is it's not a standalone product.
Troy Millings
Yeah, right.
David Shands
When you think about OpenAI, you don't tie it to Microsoft Office. You go to the app.
Troy Millings
App. Right.
David Shands
We were having this conversation about Meta. Like Meta has an AI, but it's not a standalone product. You know what I mean? So like when I'm trying to use Gemini, I have to open up Google Search and I have to ask it and prompt it, whereas the standalone product is like it's quick go right to it. I have a relationship with, with my chat gbt. It understands my questioning, understands my prompts. That's learning it inside of its own singular app.
Rashad Bilal
Right.
David Shands
Whereas inside of my Google Search. Yeah, it'll remember some of the things I asked, but it feels like it's kind of convoluted. Right. Like I used to use search, but now when I search Gemini is the first thing that comes up and then it's actually those, the, the olds that come up in Google and it's like well, am I using it? Is it. Is this really happening? Right. So it's a little confusing in that sense. I think having a standalone product and having great marketing around that it might change it a little bit because it like even now when they first tested it three, three months after clo Claude in open AI Gemini was the most accurate. Well it has the largest database because it had certain to this day it's still if not one or definitely number two in terms of accuracy. I think it is one and it was number one in the least amount of hallucinations. Which isn't. Hasn't been much of a problem lately for gbts. But originally it was so they have the product, it's just that not a standalone.
Troy Millings
Yeah, I agree a thousand percent. I mean I was when I was looking at the data, I'm like that's fascinating that the gap is so wide, especially when the market is down and then you need efficiency more than ever and they already have deployed it into the work suites. I just feel like there's a lot that could be done to close that market share gap. So because I love you guys so much from the bottom of my heart.
Rashad Bilal
And I'll say this too because this ties into the AI story and this ties into I want to start giving like real world applications on like business entrepreneurship stuff like inside of the stories that we do on market Monday. So Mario Kelly shout out to him. Mario Kelly is. We did an interview with him a few years ago. So he was a guy from Detroit, Michigan that actually was homeless at some point in time and worked his way up. He has a staffing agency that staffs to clean stadiums. So he's worked his way up to. He cleans his company, cleans the Lions State Stadium forfeit the where the baseball team play America Park, Detroit Tigers and Little Caesar's arena where the Pistons play.
David Shands
And the Red Wings.
Rashad Bilal
He cleans the NFL, NBA and the Major League Baseball for Detroit. He clean his his company contract and then he also had Houston nrg. He's killing it. Very impressive entrepreneur. Shout out to him. But he was telling us when we was in Detroit, we had him on stage with us and he was saying that. So he's like, when he went to Invest Fest last year, he like, everybody thinks Invest Fest. The thing is like the speakers, the celebrities. He was like, yeah, you know, I definitely like watched 50 because I had to do that. He was like, but I told my team, like, we not here for that. Like, we are staying in the vendor marketplace and we're talking to every single vendor in the vendor market.
Troy Millings
Yeah.
Rashad Bilal
But he was like, he met a guy in the back of the vendor marketplace that had a robot and he just starts talking to them and he starts talking about AI. Long story short, he ends up actually buying 59 of the guy's company and now they have a company that actually has automated responses for. For companies that like when you. Call centers. Call centers. So he already has a staffing agency. Now he has the AI call center thing. So he was talking about how his next plan is to scale AI call centers. So I say that to say it's a few good points here, this AI thing. Like everybody that's intelligent says this is just the beginning level. Like, we're in the first inning. That's pretty much the consensus. Even our guest last week said that we was in the first inning of like if it was a baseball game, we're in the first inning of the AI revolution. So from a chatbot standpoint, I think a lot of people are looking at it just from like a personal response chatbot, but from a business standpoint. Right. Like how beneficial is Chatbots for like, let's say you were trying to talk to fidelity or you're trying to talk like, I mean like this chatbot thing, I think it's just in its infancy stages also.
Troy Millings
Yes.
Rashad Bilal
We're just seeing the beginning stages of Chatbots. The second thing is like going back to the Invest Fest story. As an entrepreneur, your main job is to find people smarter than you and people that's doing things that you're not currently doing.
Troy Millings
Yes.
Rashad Bilal
Working with them. That's better than starting fake narratives and trying to tear people down. Right. Because that is not sustainable. Starting. That's, that's just like a one week worth of content.
Troy Millings
Yep.
Rashad Bilal
In a partnership with somebody. Well, that could be a 30 year multi million dollar deal community to be fully educated on that. Because it's just like hip hop culture, right? Yeah. You can diss somebody and that's not going to be helpful. Long term, you might get one dish song, but it's like, it's better to try to find ways to partner with somebody and figure out some level of collaboration generation. And let's have a sale. And this is something that you can. 30 years from now, you could be making millions of dollars, and nobody even knows. Nobody even knows that asap. Rocky signed this guy.
David Shands
Are you talking about Playboy guarding?
Rashad Bilal
Who knew that?
Troy Millings
Very few people, right?
Rashad Bilal
Wait, like, is it better for him to be a silent signer of Playboi Carti or Playboy? Cardi comes out. He kind of sounds. Looks like, asap. Let me diss this dude. I don't like. I don't like him.
Troy Millings
Yep, let me invest into the future.
Rashad Bilal
That.
David Shands
That was part of what the. When he was on stage, he was like, yo, investors, like you said, people like to go and see the speakers because, like, the first part of the word is invest. He's like, I'm going to look for companies to invest in my business. He was like, I don't see enough people doing that.
Rashad Bilal
Right.
David Shands
Like, these people are in the marketplace because they're in business. How can you have their business help your business? And that's what he did. I think it was 49. Not 59, but 49. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Rashad Bilal
TI signed Travis Scott.
Troy Millings
Scott straight up, still getting paid, I.
Rashad Bilal
Think, until, like, the last album.
David Shands
Yeah, the Astroworld. Astroworld was the last album on the contract.
Rashad Bilal
Who knew that?
David Shands
Crazy. And that probably is new people, a few people.
Rashad Bilal
How much?
Troy Millings
Yeah, grand hustle, silent invest. And now, even when you guys are walking through the vending marketplace for, like, a tangible assignment, you literally can go to vendor marketplace and say, hey, tell me the eight weaknesses of this business and how I can help integrate what I do into their business to help them grow. And now you can negotiate on the spot and not have to guess what they need. All the. What do you need help with? Put it in check. They'll give you a full breakdown.
David Shands
And a lot of times you can do it before you even get in the room or you come. Day one, you see these businesses, all right? This business has interest. Hey, Chad, what are the weaknesses?
Troy Millings
Yep.
David Shands
Tell me their weaknesses. You come back. Day two. Here's how I can help.
Troy Millings
Here's a full plan.
David Shands
Here's the full plan of how I came up, how I can be an asset for your company.
Rashad Bilal
How many people was actually going to invest fest thinking to themselves, yo, I'm looking to invest in your company.
Troy Millings
I'd be trying to be swarming me in that little marketplace show to be.
Rashad Bilal
Stevens did that.
David Shands
He said, I'm walking there with. With the chat.
Rashad Bilal
Sorry.
Troy Millings
Leaving him with something.
David Shands
Yeah, I'm leaving with something. I'm leaving with something.
Rashad Bilal
So there's opportunities all around, ladies and gentlemen. You just have to. You just have to be aware of what's going on and just have the right mindset. That's. That's the important thing. Have the right mindset. That's important.
Troy Millings
And if you're not using AI as your second brain, it may be the biggest mistake that you make over these next 10 years.
Rashad Bilal
You gotta use AI can't get away from AI 10.
David Shands
Six months.
Troy Millings
It's people who like, when it feels cold, it's like, what difference does it make if it think of it like this? You have a superhuman robot that working 24 hours a day for maximum $100 a month. Like, I've heard in a history of interest rates around the world and all the crashes, you can see the correlations and how many months they've spaced out according to each other.
Rashad Bilal
And some people's like, yo, why y'all pushing this AI narrative so hard? That would be like when a car first came out and be like, why are you pushing this automotive thing? Or when a cell phone first came out.
Troy Millings
Right.
David Shands
The Internet.
Rashad Bilal
Why are you pushing this handheld phone thing? You can't hold on to the past. And then if we don't talk about it, you're going to be the first one to say, we're a gatekeeper. Let the community know. We gatekeep the information. They told y'all about it ten years after they came out. Like, you cannot run from the wave. Like it's happening. It's happening right now. It's going to get more advanced just to act like you're going to just live off the land like in 1807. Good luck. But it's not gonna work out for you if you try to ignore artificial intelligence, embrace it, learn about it, invest in the companies that specialize in it. But just acting like this is the. The worst thing in human civilization and that we shouldn't be supporting this. You're going down the wrong path.
David Shands
Yeah. So we can save time by, like, the question what you guys think about AI you're bullish on it.
Troy Millings
Yeah, super. Super. I told you back in the day, I let all my little stuff go ahead. Once I find that. I'm sorry.
David Shands
Yes.
Troy Millings
I've never had chat GPT be late one time or not finished the assignment because the personal grievance ever.
Rashad Bilal
So I gotta chill. Okay. SUI stock.
Troy Millings
Thank you for the question. I appreciate your engagement and your dedication to the show. I think we are in too sensitive over time to invest in companies that are not exceptional until we have exceptional leadership and an exceptional plan. If this is 2020 or 2021, maybe I would give it a shot. But given the fact that the last 2021 for me all products and services are bad. But please write this in chat. If the company is not exceptional and moving the GDP of the United States of America, I don't care about it. Anything that doesn't move the GDP damage is a non fungible. So not at this time for that reason. So no.
David Shands
Thank you for the question.
Troy Millings
Yeah, thank you so much. Not at this time.
David Shands
Yeah. And they got, they got their, their earnings coming up next week, but it's tough to, to focus on a company like that when you know, Meta's reporting on this week and. Yeah, this week and Microsoft's reporting this week and those waste management.
Troy Millings
Like there's some heavy hitting companies with party.
David Shands
Exactly right. Like these companies are moving to market and they have a major role in the future innovation of our world. Pretty much. So I'm saying that a company like Sui won't. But we get in the habit, especially when we're new to investing. It's like I'm trying to find the, the new thing that's going to give me the thousand percent return. It's like the companies that are here right now are going to be here for a long time and inside them. Look at the companies who, who they're invested in and who they rely on to make sure that they can continue to be the trillion dollar market cap companies. Because that is the space.
Rashad Bilal
Okay. Okay, ladies and gentlemen.
Troy Millings
Come on Rashad, let's move side together. It's okay.
David Shands
Life is great again.
Rashad Bilal
That's it. You know.
Troy Millings
Yeah.
Rashad Bilal
But I appreciate the opportunity to go off the rails because that's, that's, that's really what the public really wants. That's what they really listen. Y'all talk all that.
Troy Millings
Yo, I like, I don't like when you guys act like that. And every week when we get black leather jacket.
David Shands
Focus on the people that focus on you, man.
Rashad Bilal
That's a fact.
David Shands
Well, y'all know us already. The people they talking to don't know us.
Rashad Bilal
That's what they always ask.
Troy Millings
Yeah. Coming back and then I go off the rails. You doing too much. No, I ain't getting enough.
David Shands
No, you don't.
Troy Millings
You love him. You were so demure.
Rashad Bilal
Y'all weren't Talking fact, man, y'all started this man. Just sorry you encouraged this behavior.
David Shands
It is y'all fault for sure. Like it or not.
Rashad Bilal
Okay, so for somebody that says that they're trying to stick to talk stock stock price targets, but they without getting too emotional, what guy can you give.
Troy Millings
Them a little tough love since that's the theme of the episode. Don't obey them and then see what happens. Sometimes you have to put your hand on the stove and be like, oh, grandma was right. I will never touch that again. Like for me, I tell these stories because I have friends who like your trading is the way. And it's like, okay, you can only trade time for money for so long. Regardless of how much you make, where it goes in your favor, at some point you're going to have an event that changes your life for the negative. When anyone acts like what can I do emotionally to, to make sure I stay on track. For me, when I said okay when I wasn't investing at first, wasn't disciplined when I started, I saw the outcome in my portfolio and I said let me just try for a year and then it will pull up and stuff. Like I was even looking yesterday. I'm like, I'm coming up my 10 year anniversary of trading futures. As much as I love trading futures, the money's way easier long term investing because you have time on your side. Not enough people talk about the time decay part in day trading and swing trading. So. So my thing is don't take me out of it, but I always bus family hasn't sold the Lakers. Regardless of what the Cowboys doing. Jerry is not selling. All the upside return if you truly want to be free comes from holding long term. So if you want to be rich, you have to hold for a long period of time and if not, you're going to suffer from the consequences of not doing so. So I don't want you to learn the hard way. But sometimes you do have to mess up to realize like, okay, let me stick with this for a long period of time.
David Shands
I think that's the only way I feel like it doesn't matter what we say, all the advice we can give them if they don't learn in their own portfolio, it don't. It doesn't feel the same. Like it feels like it's something that's theoretical. Right? Like yeah, they said it. And until you really experience it and then you realize why people were trying to tell you not to do that in the first.
Troy Millings
Yeah.
David Shands
And one of those things is yo just you don't love a company or.
Troy Millings
Love a stock, Right?
David Shands
You love the appreciation that it can gain. You love what it does for your portfolio, Right? Because the inverse would be. Do you hate the stock when it. When it depreciates? Right. Do you hate Apple now because it's pulled back a little bit? Do you hate Nvidia now that it's dropped 26? Right? Like, the. The emotional attachment is. Is something that you gotta kind of shake from, right? It is an investment, and you're doing it to help yourself, but. And your community. Well, your family, and then eventually your community by sharing the information that you learned, whether good or bad. Right? There's nobody destroys you for that, right? Like, hey, you guys, they love it when you win, but, like, when you show them the loss, it's like, all right, that's why I'm never doing it. It's not like, oh, I learned from that. So that. That doesn't happen to me. It's like, oh, wait, I'm closing my brokerage account. I'm taking my money out. You saw how much money they lost in the day. You saw that.
Troy Millings
What's the alternatives? Companies aren't even hired. They're putting out the little fit job posts and acting like they're hiring, and then the job's being rotated internally. What's the alternative that you have?
Rashad Bilal
That's a fact.
David Shands
It's gonna be the only way, man.
Troy Millings
It used to be a luxury to invest. Like, it's damn mandatory now. Like, when I start hearing older white senators say that financial education should be a mandate. I said we're in trouble. I'm seeing a lot of you need.
Rashad Bilal
Financial legislation start on third cross. That's why y'all.
Troy Millings
Y'all undisclosed location.
David Shands
It's, like, such a grand idea.
Troy Millings
Yeah. So ADP is reporting this week as well. Better company.
David Shands
Visa as well.
Troy Millings
Yes.
David Shands
It's a big week. It's a big week. And these are the companies, man. These are the companies. See? Lily will be reporting. Coca Cola's reporting. Yeah.
Troy Millings
Coca Cola been kicking ass this year.
David Shands
This is true. This is true.
Troy Millings
Now, Rashad, are you telling you all about Coke and in the house?
David Shands
Yeah. Caterpillar, Robin Hood. There's a bunch, man. It's a. It's a bunch. It's a huge week. Moderna. You spoke about that. Airbnb.
Troy Millings
Yeah. MasterCard, Roku. Listen, this. This is a Blockbuster week.
David Shands
It's a big week. Those of you looking for a video, not this week. Not this week. May 28th. Put it on your calendar. Circle it now. May 28th and video will be reporting. And while we're talking about that, keep in mind that the tariffs and the pullback that happened in April is not a part of this earnings report. Right. This is from January 3rd up into March 31st. And so liberation, or whatever you want to call it day was on the 3rd of April. So that would be in the following quarters earnings report. So we'll see what guidance looks like neck well this time, but the next time around as well.
Troy Millings
You know, seriously, going back to the office, that's amazing.
Rashad Bilal
Okay, so how do you. How do you communicate with your. Your other generations the importance of investing and buying wealth for the family?
Troy Millings
I think it's a point I've been trying to stress for a couple years, but I think our parents and kids only learn about what we do, not by what we say. I get to go. I'm sure you guys do too. What book should I go tell my mom about investing? Charles schwab put in $5,000 for grow it to 25, 000. Say this all yours. She'll listen to everything that you got to say about every earnings call on earth. Sometimes the information is not the way that the outcome first is the way. Like for example, if I came on here and was like, yo re intelligent investor, Chapter two. That hits different than hey, buy at this price. If I made you money. Please put yes chat. I think you have to leave with the outcome and not so education. You have to reinforce with the education. But a lot of times our elders that have been taken advantage of by banks, institutions, insurance companies, they don't want to hear it because when they put the Money in in 1980, it didn't give the return that they were supposed to get. So now we have a little bit more of a balance in terms of regulation. I think you have to leave. We're given the outcome first and then there's open to hear.
Rashad Bilal
Yeah, I think that for sure. Definitely. I think that there needs to be at least one person that can be an example for people, follow people generally. And being a follower is not a bad thing. That's a common misconception. That's a common mis.
Troy Millings
You need proof of concept.
Rashad Bilal
Yeah. Being a follower is not a bad thing. As long as you're following the right people, the right guidance, the right blueprint, like any religion, you're following the tenets of that religion. Right. That's not a bad thing. Like you're. If you, if you have somebody that has set an example for you and you can follow in their blueprint and you can look at them as an example of success. Well, that's. That's helpful. So I think that's a major part is like being that matriarch for your family, being that person that. And you don't got to be like a billionaire, but you could be the person that. The first person in your family to own a rental property. Since we're talking about real estate. Yeah, rental property. Right. And it's like, damn, now that's something that people can look up to. Like, this is actually something that's attainable. I can.
Troy Millings
Attainable. Yep.
Rashad Bilal
It's like, okay, now I don't necessarily just want money. I want to actually save my money to buy a home or I want to save my money. I want to buy stocks. I want to save my money, become an entrepreneur. Like, like, even that song reminisce when he was like, on my own business, like, my Aunt Joyce, like, you know, you got somebody that you can look up to, like.
Troy Millings
Yep.
Rashad Bilal
You also got to be, like, vocal as far as being able to communicate. We're vocal because we're on social media, so they. They see us. But if you're not on social media, if you're not, you know, you don't have that type of voice, then I think, you know, you don't want to be like that person every time that comes around you just talking about your 401k. But it's like, be vocal. Tell them what you're doing. Show them stuff so they can actually see it and understand it. And I think the third part for me is the encouragement. You got to encourage people while they're come. So it's like, all right, I'll take this moment as a. To encourage. So my son. Congratulations. And I said, he made the high honor roll. Appreciate it. But that's important because it's like, he plays sports, right? So, like, he had a game winning shot. If he does something, I'm going to celebrate that Right. On social media. But we got to celebrate academics the same way that we celebrate a game winner. Absolutely right. Like, because that happens all the time where it's like, your kid might do well in sports. That's going to be easy to brag about. Most of the time. You're not going to brag about your son getting an A on his math test. You should. It's encouraging. And people like to have some level of acknowledgment. Right. And rewards and, you know, that's just human nature. So I say that to say when you see somebody doing something like if you see somebody buy that home, like, encourage them. Like if you see somebody buy their first stock, encourage them. Because now they're getting more confidence and they look at you as like an authority in the space. And by you giving them some level of reinforcement. Right. That's giving them more fortitude to push forward.
David Shands
Yeah, I agree with everything you both have said. I'll just add, because when I saw the question, it made me just think about lead by demonstration. And I think something that we kind of just grow up doing, being where we from in our community, but specifically to, to reach older generations, you got to do that and you got to be accessible with it by demonstration, you gotta, you have to pull them to the side. You might have to, to talk to them one on one because there's a level of trust that they feel like, hey, I don't feel encouraged by not knowing. So how do I let you know that I don't know without telling you? So you want to offer as much, as much advice as possible. I think one of the unique positions that we sit in is like, we're like the middle child, right? Like there's a generation older than us who didn't have the information, but there's a generation below us that doesn't have information as well. And so sometimes we can teach their kids. And the influence that we've had on their kids now translates and starts to spill into the home. And we've seen that happen in our community. Specifically.
Troy Millings
A lot of the young men and.
David Shands
Young women that used to be in our programs are now adults. And they've learned lessons from hearing us. And now they get to tell their parents. And their parents are so thankful for it because they didn't know the information, but they're watching the benefits of their children having access to it. And so lead by demonstration, be accessible and, and always know that, that you can always learn. You can always learn. And it might not be in the financial space, it might just be a life lesson. So there's a, a value exchange, right. They're going to give you their life experience and you're going to give them something financially that can help them out as well. So exchange that.
Troy Millings
Keep the lesson short. Nobody 45 minute dissertation on, please, please. Especially if you talk to somebody older, because I know in this generation, because we have access to so much information, we forget that they have a lot of wisdom. Talk to them about the companies that were dominant in their era, they'll start to make the correlation on their own. And when I talk to any elder about My frustrations with Apple, they're like wave reminds me a lot of G Jack, amazing leader, edgy. But then some things inside the culture started to change and the culture got fragmented. That's the same battle that Apple is going through right now.
David Shands
So we just had this conversation, especially with a lot of the earners in Eylu. They talk about how IBM was dominant. I'm sitting here like, yeah, what? Yes, when I was in elementary school. But they telling me about what it was like and how this time is very similar to that, to that time. Some of the characteristics that we're starting to see in some of the companies that are dominating now. And one of the things that they always resonate with is they like, look, it was just us inside the company that knew this information. And so what you guys are doing, you didn't have to work in the company with all the information you're actually sharing. And a lot of times just write the information that you're sharing, but you're sharing it with our community. Community which is complete game changer. So yeah man, there's, there's always intersections, there's always ways to, you know, spark a conversation that feels comfortable, but you got to be open and accessible to it.
Rashad Bilal
Yeah. And it's for every community too because you're not going jam me up after like they trying to get Ibrahim Torre out of here right now. So, so it's for this, this information.
Troy Millings
Is for every community, everyone on earth.
Rashad Bilal
Let's be clear about that. Yeah, sure.
Troy Millings
For the record.
Rashad Bilal
Yeah, for sure. Also with the IBM thing is this. IBM used to be known as the, the safest job in America as far as their pension once you got in and that changed. So a company now, just because you're dominating now doesn't mean you're gonna right. Have that dominance in 10 years or five years. Things change over the course of time.
David Shands
Yeah.
Rashad Bilal
IBM is still a powerful company, but they're nowhere near where they. And then like the guy said, like they actually started the AI wave 30.
Troy Millings
Years, 20 years ago. Yeah.
David Shands
And we, we, you watch Watson on, on Jeopardy. That's all you remember for be the spark of the whole thing.
Rashad Bilal
It never. Yeah. What happened?
Troy Millings
Yeah, they should be. At one point IBM was like Microsoft at F1. I mean and they're stock at an all time high this year, but their stock should be like $2,000. You have to fight big lesson. You have to fight for a lead and to get better every day. The minute you get to wrestle on your laurel, the technology shift happens like AI and now I didn't even notice just in the course space. How many courses have just went away. AI is here. How much pressure that put on Udemy and Coursera. We have a check for the business. You have to fight for edge every day.
Rashad Bilal
So. Okay, if you were in charge of America, what's five things that you would fix up? Can we. Can we talk about that? On blackout, I feel like that's a blackout.
Troy Millings
Okay, I'm good.
David Shands
I feel like if I rule the world, the second verse is gonna come.
Rashad Bilal
And then also it's a good starting point. Also on blackout, we gotta talk about the Christopher Columbus thing.
David Shands
Oh, yeah, I just read that.
Troy Millings
What part?
Rashad Bilal
Well, you know, Trump's trying to bring it. That's. That's part of his. He put a tweet out that we're gonna totally revise Christopher Columbus. We're gonna put the statues back. The Democrats tried to earn. Erase him from.
Troy Millings
Wait, wait, wait, wait.
Rashad Bilal
What about that? Yeah, yeah, that's. That was like all. All of our Italian friends, the Democrats, then the woke agenda. They tried to re. Rewrite the history. We're going to bring Christopher Columbus's name back to glory. They took down the statues. Now this guy's crazy, bro. He went to the wrong place. Black people are going to make an excuse for.
Troy Millings
He got lost, bro. Like, what do we. The failed voyager.
David Shands
Yeah, yeah. Send him to Africa.
Rashad Bilal
But we'll talk about this. We'll talk about this.
Troy Millings
On blackout, Vespucci discovered that's why it's called America's. Like, what are we talking about? Fake news? Did he hit the chat GPT for what actually happened on that voyage. Right.
Rashad Bilal
And not everybody, but there's always a politician. There's always a politics. Apologetic nest. What is those words called? Apologetic apologists. Apologist. There's always. There's always you. You guys know who you are. There's always one of you. There's actually like a hundred more than one. There's a hundred of you, and that's you. You guys are very problematic because no matter what somebody does, there's always going to be an excuse. The Shador thing, there was an excuse for that.
David Shands
The.
Rashad Bilal
The Trump trying to bring back Christopher Columbus. There's an excuse for that. Like out of. So you don't get tired of making excuses for your oppression.
Troy Millings
For sure. For sure.
Rashad Bilal
Preview. That was just a preview. Yeah, sneak peek.
David Shands
Shador with the 144th pick.
Rashad Bilal
Now, Shador. You got to stop with some of. Some of. Some of the things.
David Shands
Which one. What do you guys. We'll talk about.
Rashad Bilal
The party.
Troy Millings
I thought about you on the party.
Rashad Bilal
You don't have a hundred thousand dollars in cash and horse man DLO like.
Troy Millings
He was trying to get his content. But back to y'all. Pardon? That's the wrong business model.
Rashad Bilal
In the.
David Shands
In the comfort of a space that he. I mean, I get it. I get it.
Rashad Bilal
Optics. Bad optics.
David Shands
Yeah.
Rashad Bilal
Not right now. All right? Bad timing. Bad timing.
David Shands
Secure the. The. The draft.
Rashad Bilal
First.
David Shands
First.
Rashad Bilal
No, after he got drafted.
David Shands
Oh, the. Oh, the after party with yesterday. The other.
Troy Millings
Yeah, Dallas.
David Shands
Oh, yeah, I saw that. I saw that. Because there was the draft party.
Rashad Bilal
No, draft part is one thing.
David Shands
And you're talking about the after party.
Rashad Bilal
About yesterday with Shorty. No, no, no, no, no.
David Shands
She was it. Not her.
Troy Millings
Not.
Rashad Bilal
Not the one from Young Miami.
David Shands
Yes.
Rashad Bilal
Young Miami was at the party yesterday. Boss Mandelo.
David Shands
Yes.
Rashad Bilal
A hundred thousand dollars in cash.
David Shands
Yeah.
Rashad Bilal
Not good optics. No, good optics.
David Shands
The leader of men.
Rashad Bilal
Not good. Not good optics.
David Shands
Where his teammates did not show.
Troy Millings
Yeah, well, one thing about the optics, though, when they do them little hit pieces, you can't play it until what they saying about you.
Rashad Bilal
You got it?
David Shands
You gotta be true to who you are, man.
Troy Millings
Unless it cost you.
David Shands
And it certainly, certainly costs 50 million. See what the Nike deal comes looking like.
Rashad Bilal
Okay.
Troy Millings
Nike and shambles, too.
Rashad Bilal
It's almost over 52.
Troy Millings
Week 52. 28. Yeah, they better go throw back at somebody.
David Shands
Number one, selling jersey. That's my prediction. Number two, Cleveland.
Troy Millings
Yeah, they're gonna change the colors on them.
Rashad Bilal
No, not the threat.
David Shands
The kid. They're the Browns.
Troy Millings
I don't know. The D. Brown looking. Who had the last best Browns jersey.
Rashad Bilal
Baker Mayfield.
David Shands
Miles G. Still plays. As far as selling.
Troy Millings
Yeah. Miles is still the.
David Shands
Sean probably sold some. They thought that was gonna happen, but it didn't work out. But that time is over to Deshaun. 260 guaranteed. That will never happen again.
Rashad Bilal
He's not playing. But. No, but the Tick Tock video, they said that he might not get paid because the.
David Shands
They said he tore his Achilles and they said he. Well, he retorted and they said no.
Rashad Bilal
Because he wasn't wearing the boot. Yeah.
David Shands
Yeah.
Troy Millings
Gotta be mindful of those clauses.
David Shands
Yeah, they caught him on the. They got pulled over. They caught him on the body cam.
Rashad Bilal
No, he didn't get pulled over. He's doing a Tick Tock video with his girl.
David Shands
I thought it. The body cam.
Rashad Bilal
One of these dumb dances.
Troy Millings
Oh, listen, we're gonna talk about. Listen, the ultimate liability is who you choose to be around.
Rashad Bilal
That's true.
Troy Millings
Always want to get content.
Rashad Bilal
The best things in life are not on Instagram.
David Shands
That is also true.
Rashad Bilal
Basic. They can't see everything.
Troy Millings
For sure. They can't. The best moments in life.
Rashad Bilal
Take a mental picture.
Troy Millings
No frames per second.
David Shands
Oh, boy.
Rashad Bilal
Internalize it and never forget it. It'll never happen again. It'll never be seen again.
David Shands
This is 20k, right?
Rashad Bilal
That's a fact.
David Shands
This picture couldn't really a movie captulate.
Rashad Bilal
This motion picture every day.
Troy Millings
Mitigation arrest, though.
Rashad Bilal
Oh, shout out to Ryan Cougar. We got to talk about that on Blackout also. For sure.
David Shands
Yeah, I want to. And if anybody has a contact information on Ryan Cougar, I would love to get in contact with him. I'm just putting it out there. I got something. Yeah. I'm writing a piece. I actually spoke about it yesterday. Going back to teaching and using hip hop to explain a lesson. So I want to know if this. This piece that I'm writing, this lyric influenced him to make the film. So.
Troy Millings
Okay.
David Shands
Everybody knows him. Please get them in contact with us. Coach Shoddy's mainline.
Troy Millings
Ron Coogler.
Rashad Bilal
Umar Johnson. Ryan Cougar.
David Shands
Coogler. Coogler.
Rashad Bilal
Coogler.
Troy Millings
Yes.
Rashad Bilal
We definitely got to talk, though. We have to talk.
Troy Millings
Long overdue.
Rashad Bilal
It's long overdue for sure. Yeah, for sure.
Troy Millings
What the hell is. Should Snapchat sell to the Snapchat has about. I'm just looking at the chart real quick. That 8.94 21. There were 83.34.
David Shands
What would you.
Troy Millings
Can they be turned around or should they just sell off? I know this is off topic.
David Shands
Oh, should they sell off? Tougher than it could be.
Troy Millings
But you know, I can read your body language already. Go ahead.
David Shands
So here's it. Before you go into it, who's the billion? I would ask this question. Who's the billionaire that doesn't have a publication or social media outlet?
Rashad Bilal
I mean, there's a bunch. So there's a hundred billionaires, but that wants that, right?
David Shands
Like Elon said, I don't have one. I'm gonna get Twitter.
Rashad Bilal
Right.
David Shands
Beso's got Washington Post. Obviously Zuckerberg has meta. Like who. Who's the. Who's in that guy that wants to have that name that is out in the public but doesn't have.
Troy Millings
Yeah.
Rashad Bilal
Most obvious buyer would be Mark Zuckerberg. That would be the obvious. Play the. The Beats by Drake, then they're not gonna let him be Spider.
Troy Millings
Return on shareholder value for buying that company.
David Shands
Yeah, they're not.
Rashad Bilal
Apple brought Beats by Dre to Kill.
David Shands
The company he's in, he's in front of. They're not gonna let him buy the competition.
Rashad Bilal
Well, anything is possible with Trumpet Office.
Troy Millings
Maybe a luxury brand.
Rashad Bilal
Anything is possible because if he, if he beats this case or he, or he, or he gets a slap on the wrist, right? Trump is in office, bro. Like, you can't put anything past him.
Troy Millings
Yeah, yeah.
Rashad Bilal
Everything's for sale. Yeah, America's for sale.
Troy Millings
Maybe the CEOs are. That's the only like mega billionaire that I can think of that it may have the great fit. But it's just interesting to watch media companies be so hot and this one being the ground the way that it is.
Rashad Bilal
Well, the one thing about it is that I was talking to a influencer and she has like a lot of followers. But long story short, she was saying that she makes the most money on Snapchat, like hundred thousand dollars a month type money.
Troy Millings
Oh, wow.
Rashad Bilal
So they said Snapchat is actually paying influences more money than anybody any other platform really.
Troy Millings
Okay.
Rashad Bilal
So something to think about from a creator standpoint. But a lot of in a lot of kids still use Snapchat for messaging. You got, you got to check your kids Snap a lot. You.
Troy Millings
You got, you gotta check your snap. Hey fellas, you may need to check your girl snap. Just what kind of line of work.
David Shands
That's nasty. Working.
Rashad Bilal
No, but when I'm saying kids now, I'm saying like as far as like.
David Shands
Your man say through the.
Rashad Bilal
If you got the tracker, if you got a daughter or a young girl. No, this is serious content. Sex trafficking happens.
David Shands
Yeah.
Troy Millings
On for sure.
Rashad Bilal
Oh yeah, yeah. Roblox, Roblox, Snapchat, Roblox, man, whatever. You gotta check because there's a lot of predators.
David Shands
Yeah.
Troy Millings
A ton of them.
Rashad Bilal
That happens. That's very common on the dark side of social media.
David Shands
Yeah. Yeah. I mean there's been reports about that, especially in Roblox, where even that one, like my, my daughter used to play. She doesn't play as much. My son does. You find like when the audio's on, they're not. There's not kids that's playing. That's like.
Troy Millings
Yeah, that's why I made it something like a year and a half, two years ago.
Rashad Bilal
Creeps like cursing out kids, all types of. It's crazy.
David Shands
Yeah. I said that's a whole different. Whole different world. But yeah, you should definitely be aware and be updated on not just social media, but even inside of your text sometimes these text messages be crazy. You never know who might have given somebody's phone number and there's some random person texting your kids. Like, you have to be mine.
Rashad Bilal
And online bullying. Okay. You gotta be careful.
David Shands
Yeah.
Rashad Bilal
They bought to. They about to pay a lot of money to that girl. Miss the story. You know that story? No. So there was a rumor that Ole Miss student had sex with her boyfriend's father. The story was false, but they put a picture out and it went viral online. And Pat McAfee actually talked about it on his show. Now she's suing ESPN Careful thing. Because she's saying, like, how she had, like, trauma and it ruined her life career. Yeah, you got to be careful.
David Shands
Information.
Rashad Bilal
You got to be careful. This online bullying thing is a very real thing.
Troy Millings
Yeah.
Rashad Bilal
Cyber bullying.
Troy Millings
You felt bullied this weekend, Rashad?
Rashad Bilal
Oh, I'm, I'm, I'm going to be the bully. That's the day, like, you know.
David Shands
All right.
Troy Millings
It's been real.
David Shands
Te.
Rashad Bilal
Love you, bully. Ryan Coogler.
Troy Millings
Love you, Knights and keys.
Rashad Bilal
Love you.
David Shands
Yeah, I'm just here so I don't get fine. I'm being held against my will. I'm just here.
Troy Millings
Y'all seen Synergy?
Rashad Bilal
Yeah. It was a good movie.
David Shands
Incredible.
Rashad Bilal
Michael B. Jordan. Good dude. Before we, before we wrap, back to investing. This is important, two important questions. What are the top four lessons we should learn from Warren Buffett dominant in the market this year?
Troy Millings
Number one, not to deviate from your plan. I know it's a lesson that gets talked about a lot, but it's probably one of the most important ones. Number two, build your portfolio regardless of what going on, that you won't have decay or destruction in it. A lot of times, remember, like in 2020 and 2021, you have people criticizing Buffett as he's not. As if he's not the greatest to ever or do this. Like there's a reason he's been able to sustain for all of these years. And even after losing Charlie, they haven't lost a step. I think number three, that lesson around him just taking in data and reading five or six hours a day is really important because I feel like too many investors are emotional in their decisions and not fact based. And then lastly, just to focus on the company, companies that are going to give you the highest return and block all the noise out. I think a lot of, especially in our community, I can only imagine how many people have lost out on money just by solely listening to the tracks who were paid to try and siphon away audience and viewership from us. It didn't work, but I Just go back to 2021. We had the other war. But what rules challenge all the people that lost out on money just not listening to Microsoft CEO or btr. So blocking out the noise but most importantly building that portfolio that is destruction free regardless of what happens in the environment.
David Shands
Yeah.
Rashad Bilal
Oh boy, you killed the generation of investors.
David Shands
I would just like to say based on this I think one of the, the most valuable lessons is that trimming.
Troy Millings
At your highs, trimming at the high, that's a great. Yes.
David Shands
Right. Like I remember in November, in October when he was trimming at Apple and it was climbing to his all time highs and he was taking profits and he sold off and people were like why is he doing that? And we were kind of saying like, you know what, this guy's too smart. He's doing this for a reason. He knows something we don't. We kind of couldn't figure it out. And then you see what happens here in early January with the deep team inside the semiconductor space.
Troy Millings
Then we see what happens with the.
David Shands
Tariffs and basically, I mean they had information for sure of kind of where this thing was headed. And so a lot of times people will say oh my gosh, the stock is falling, stock's falling, I need to take profit, profit now before I lose it all or it goes back to my buying point. But he didn't do that.
Troy Millings
Right.
David Shands
Like he sold at highs, got max profit, kept it on the sideline and he just lived by his age old adage.
Rashad Bilal
Right.
David Shands
When everybody is fearful, be ready and when people are greedy, be fearful. And see when you start seeing things run to its all time high and especially after the election we saw that run up in a bunch of companies in and that's as well. And in Bitcoin people got greedy, took profit. Now if you look at that fair and greed index, it was in a single digits a couple weeks ago. Yeah, people are extremely fearful and he's sitting with a treasure chest. And so that's a valuable lesson that when you hit some of your marks, whatever your benchmark is, whether it's 2030, sometimes I know people are looking for 100 return especially in the options. You know they want to get 100 or they want to get to a thousand percent, make sure that you trim some profits to have reserves because there is going to be another pullback. It's just part of the life cycle of the market and you can make some really, really good decisions that can change your, your portfolio and your life.
Rashad Bilal
Yeah. Pokemon is reportedly looking at releasing crypto backed on Solana's blockchain NFT component to it. Is that something that, you know, you're interested in?
Troy Millings
I thought it was fascinating that a brand like this would do it. I'm only interested. One day we're gonna have conversation about Web3. Maybe next week. NFT community. I need y'all to come give me my flowers. But not Pokemon. But if Call of Duty and grand does something and they deploy nft, I would be interested. Don't give it validity because we haven't seen a company of scale playing that market. There's been some offshoot brands and offshoot players that have been in that space, but if there is real value there, I wonder if there's a way that they can include that into their own ecosystem and make it viable. I want to be very clear. I still hate NFT space, I think majority of projects. But it did get my brain turning on if Call of Duty or. Or Far Cry.
Rashad Bilal
No, I think it's interesting. I mean. Well, first of all, a lot of y'all. Okay, let's wake it up.
Troy Millings
I'm.
Rashad Bilal
Hey, you're trying to find Pokemon. You need to find your girl first. That's crazy because it's like priorities. Pokemon Poke so all messed up for real.
Troy Millings
And a park hunt for Pikachu.
Rashad Bilal
Trying to look through the bench. Meanwhile, Upper west side, moments ago.
David Shands
Like, I was supposed to tell you where she been at now? I think so.
Rashad Bilal
Shout out to Aaron. Wait, what?
David Shands
Yo, what happened to son? No, that's not. Nah, nah. He calls him Heat. He calls him he Aaron Diploma.
Troy Millings
Yeah.
Rashad Bilal
Recently did he.
David Shands
When?
Troy Millings
When he.
David Shands
Wednesday. Wednesday. Not to be confused with Brian.
Troy Millings
Where is he at?
Rashad Bilal
Junior brown pumper.
Troy Millings
Oh, my God.
David Shands
Now they disrespected him.
Rashad Bilal
They disrespected him. But all right, so not because I was gonna go to Pokemon. Justin's son was a CEO of. Here's the CEO of Tron. He was the dude that was eating Vaseline. He was. He was. Tron was supposed to be the coin for gamers.
Troy Millings
Yeah.
Rashad Bilal
Because gamification, that was the whole thing of like, yo, there's a lot of money. Like if my son asked me for money one more time for in app purchases inside of 2K.
Troy Millings
Yeah.
Rashad Bilal
I'm like, you spending more money on this than close. Like in real life. Like, you're spending more money to enhance your players profile that you are like on actually real life items for your like daily use. So this millions, billions of dollars being spent in. In app game. So if they have their native currency. Yeah, I think that's actually something that makes a lot of sense.
David Shands
So I spent a lot of hours studying Tron. So that, that was, that was part of that story. Like I remember calling him and like yo, you need to come back home. I found something. And a lot of hours are spent doing that because of that. I think Pokemon specifically it's, it's past the time for Pokemon. This happened 10 years ago and it's like semi peak right when it came out and you had the Game Boy games and a couple years ago when they were actually using technology like you said to try to catch Pokemon or even when the trading cards. I know in the late 90s that became a thing but then it had a resurgence.
Troy Millings
Yeah resurgence for a little bit.
David Shands
And you kind of see like even Logan Paul who was, who was wearing the Pokemon, there was a moment you could see how like the NFT thing would have been crazy for Pokemon. Like you're talking about ridiculous valuations for those. I think you nailed it though, Ian, with your projection for GTA 6 though. Yeah, they get, that's the game.
Troy Millings
They get Rockstar involved.
David Shands
So Call of Duty more so from a standpoint where yes, you can upgrade your e, your XP to get more weapons and things of that nature. Maybe gear GT6. GTA 6 is an entire world like a lifestyle.
Rashad Bilal
That's the ecosystem.
David Shands
Like that is a whole world. Like if something is on the blockchain in there, that's gonna, that's Roblox mine. But they have that population is a little younger.
Troy Millings
Right.
David Shands
So like. Well, maybe not. But the GTA thing is like I'm, I, I want to see that game like, like real, like people who grew up on those games like you want to see because this is the, the first generation version that's going to be on the new generation systems and the anticipation has been incredible for it. So this is finally the year for it. And we talked to T grizzly about how people are monetizing inside that space and how they have to get new service and things of that nature. So imagine if that was actually a considered effort to make it under a blockchain and whoever. I mean they're probably working on it now. That's going to be something that'd be very interesting to, to look at and invest in.
Troy Millings
Yeah, I think that's the only ecosystem that has a fanatic fan base. And the almost never ends. Yeah, it never ends. So that's the one. If they have an nft, I would like, I'm interested. Bullish on it. But Pokemon, no GTA 6.
David Shands
GTA 6 is GTA. 6 is the real metaverse.
Rashad Bilal
All right, ladies and gentlemen, that's a fact. Appreciate, Appreciate. You guys, as always, I apologize. I don't know what's gotten into me.
Troy Millings
No, I'm so sorry. I need to meditate.
Rashad Bilal
This.
David Shands
This.
Rashad Bilal
This conversation should have been reserved for blackout. I apologize in advance to any young children or senior citizens that might have had to endure my outbreak.
Troy Millings
The Ransom gyms diatribe.
Rashad Bilal
I. I sincerely, sincerely, from the bottom of my heart, apologize better next week. Allegedly.
David Shands
Please have us in your travel mercies. Please.
Troy Millings
Yes, that'd be worshiping you better, dope spot. And you get some B.S. like, boy, if I can put what I'm doing right now, damn you.
David Shands
Please, no champagne.
Troy Millings
And then, meanwhile, aren't y'all selling properties in Ghana?
Rashad Bilal
Yes, real estate.
Troy Millings
I like the. L just. Bro, just say you don't like us. That's cool.
Rashad Bilal
When the hate don't work, can they give us.
David Shands
Give us the update on who's helping us with that?
Rashad Bilal
That's a fact. When the hate. Clinton hate don't work, they start telling lies. And little man, stay in your lane. Black Rock, y'all just learned who BlackRock was. Big facts, little bro.
Troy Millings
Look, 20 20, 20, 21. I was only waking it up.
Rashad Bilal
Hey, bro, we've actually been to the offices. Headquarters, hq, little bro, all facts. Chill out.
Troy Millings
I ain't gonna cake for the colonizers. Granted, the tree you want to bark up, either he'll take all $6,000. You got.
David Shands
To say, the reality is, it's just counterproductive. Right? Like we've had. We've been afforded the luxuries because of the work we put in, the impact that we've had to be at HQ for a bunch of these corporations. But, like, you talking crazy. That don't. It don't help you.
Rashad Bilal
Right?
David Shands
But it now doesn't tell the other part.
Troy Millings
It helps us, right?
David Shands
They like. Oh, they're the only people that we can trust. That's not gonna help.
Troy Millings
That's the other part that y'all don't be doing. I told boy this too on Twitter as soon as you got the profile. Okay, cool. After that, don't even speak to him no more. Johnny Tapping. Why you even bringing him up? Who you want to. All right, cool. Reverse marketing.
David Shands
Pokemon. Catch them.
Rashad Bilal
That's a fact. What? In the meantime, New Haven, Connecticut, this Saturday, pull up on us New York Times bestselling book, you deserve to be rich book tour. The final stop. Rashad Bilal
That's a fact.
David Shands
Appreciate the shout out, man. Hey, we're working together. Maybe we should.
Rashad Bilal
