She was like, I feel bad. I was like, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, this is a problem. You feel bad because you want more. And so today's episode is all going to be about prospering and flourishing. And I'm actually going to give you a bible reference on why I feel like this is just so important. And then I'm going to give you some examples and actually probably reframe your whole brain on how you think about prospering and flourishing and why money is a good thing. Because we cannot talk about ads without money because you have to pay money for the ads and you also have to be, well, you have to pay money for the ads. You have to also have to pay to invest in learning the right strategy, either from me or from someone. If you're going to outsource your advertising, I obviously am of the opinion that you or someone on your team should do this and that it will save you money and make you money if someone on your team can do it versus outsourcing. So actually, I have another episode, if you've missed it, on why I feel like you can think about outsourcing versus doing it in house and how that can make a difference. But today is all about prospering and winning. I cannot advocate for it enough just because I know that it can change your life in business and really help you think differently about advertising. So that is why you should join the Women with Paid Ads challenge. But let's jump into talking about prospering and feeling guilty for just wanting more success with your business, with your life, and even with your ads. So I want to share with you a moment that changed my life forever. So I just had my first son, Easton, and this was during COVID and I being pregnant. And Covid was a whole thing. I was so excited to be becoming a mom, and I had no one. It felt like, to share it with, like, all these relationships that I have built at work, at the ad agency. I. I felt like it was actually. So I found out I was pregnant, and then the moment that I was about to actually share it and announce it was when Covid happened and we all were sent home. So I was sent home to work. And actually, there was some benefit because, gosh, I was exhausted and, like, needed some midday nap. So that was beneficial. But it was hard because it was lonely. I wasn't around my friends every day. It was just on the computer. And so one of the things that kind of got me out of my funk was actually going outside. So after I had Easton, he was so little, and I was pushing him in this neighborhood behind my apartment complex, because in my apartment, there really wasn't, like, much room to walk, unless you just literally want to do circles or one big, long rectangle. So there was an apartment or a neighborhood behind my apartment complex, and that was where I would walk every day, because the other side was like, the interstate. And I was like, well, I'm gonna walk in this neighborhood. So the neighborhood was older, and it just had a really broken sidewalk. Like, it was very bumpy. Like, I had to pick the stroller up and lift it down. Like, it was just bumpy. And so I want you to, like, close your eyes and envision. So I'm. It's really hot. Like, it's hot outside. I'm like, Sweaty. I've got these. I didn't have the money at the time just to buy AirPods like everybody else did. So I had, like, the dangly ones still that plugged into my phone. And so I'm like, hot. And I'm pushing the stroller, and it's on this sidewalk. And I was listening to a book because, like I said, I was by myself, working in my own house, by myself, all day, every day. And so I was like, I'm going to step outside, go for a walk. And I heard on the other side of my headphones, I heard Rachel Hollis in her book Girls, Stop Apologizing. I heard her say that you are allowed to want more for yourself for no other reason than because it makes your heart happy. And I'm over here feeling guilty. Like, how can I not be thankful? I'm like, I'm in this ad agency job. I'm making six figures a year. I have some of the highest client that. Some of the largest clients. Like, I live in this nice apartment. Like, I mean, the carpet was old, a little bit crunchy, but, like, it was good. And I remember thinking, how am I not thankful for where I'm at right now? And I felt guilt because I would see these other people on Instagram, and I was like, man, they have their own business. That's so crazy. I didn't know many people that had their own business. And when that moment happened and I heard her say that you can just want something because it makes your heart happy, I felt for the first time like I was free. Like, I sprinted back. I think I ran with the stroller. If I remember correctly, I was getting honked at. People, like, see me, like, pushing up a baby up a hill. They're like, good job. And I'm like, thank you. Like, I'm trying to go. Because I was, like, lit from the inside at the thought that I could do something differently. I could still take my experience that I had at working at all of these ad agencies and loving ads. Like, I loved my job. Don't get me wrong. I had a great team. I had all these things. I just felt like my. My impact was limited. And I loved teaching. I loved helping people. And I was like, is there really a world where I could do this more? So I had this desire for prosperity. And what I want to talk to you about is these definitions. So in Jeremiah 29:11, this is the exact verse, and this is how it says verbatim. It says, I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans To prosper you and not harm you. Plans to give you a hope and a future, plans to prosper you. So let's look at the definition of prosper. The definition of prosper is to succeed or thrive, especially financially, and to grow strong and flourish. Okay, so I'm pretty sure I just read that the Lord says he wants you to prosper. And if prosper means financially, why are we feeling bad that we want something that he wants for us? Right? And then if you really look at that word, if you think what is so if prosper means to grow financially or to thrive financially, and then we look at how, if you really think about what that means, that means you want to grow strong and flourish. Well, let's look at flourish. So the word flourish means to grow or develop in a healthy, vigorous and successful way, especially as a result of a favorable environment. Don't get me started on how your environment helps you flourish. I want you to think about a plant real quick, okay? A plant. Well, let me ask you this. Did you know that if a healthy plant grows beside another healthy plant that it actually has a mutual benefit? It's called companion planting. So with companion planning, it is a research back concept where and they call it either companion planting or positive plant interaction. And all that really means is that plant healthy plants that grow near each other, they grow stronger, they develop better root systems, they become more resilient to plants and disease, and they produce more fruit and flowers. Have you ever noticed how if you're in an environment where other people are growing and thriving and doing something different and better that you're better? Have you ever noticed when you're pregnant, alone at home and Covid and you're with no one and you're not getting any outside influence and you feel lonely and you feel depressed and you feel sad and like everything's not good. It's like, oh, it's because I'm literally not in a thriving growing environment. I am isolated. And so just like a plant, you also your environment really matters if you want to flourish. And being in an environment with other people that can tell you that, hey, I really believe this is. Now you may disagree with this, you may not. This may not be like your train of thought. My train of thought is there is a plan for my life and it is to prosper me and not harm me. And that can be really freeing when you are feeling guilty that you want more money, you want more success and all those things come now. I wanted more money and success and I spent a lot of money Trying to get to success. I spent a lot of years. I think I've told y' all this before. I found out that someone that had less experience than me was making $20,000 more than me. And what did I do? Did I go back to work and say, I'm out. I hate this. This is not fair? No. I showed up every single day, and I freaking learned and worked so hard, and it all paid off in the end, right? So I've been there, and it's okay to have that desire. And that's why, for me, for everyone on my team, for everyone I get to work with, I want to help everybody by being in this environment, grow and flourish, because I didn't have that environment that was created to really foster that growth. Let me go back. My ad agencies were wonderful. I want to make that clear. I didn't have a community where I was being poured into for my own self. Like, I had people say, hey, here's how you launch these ads. Here's. Here's how I can teach you ads. Nobody was teaching me how to, like, grow into me or helping me develop, like, my own beliefs, my own thoughts, my own messaging, my own, like, personal growth. I could grow ads all day, every day. It's why I'm so good at it. Because you did that nonstop every day for 10 years. But the personal development side, like, I wasn't on leadership. Like, I wasn't in the group of people that got to really pour into you. Like, I was just an implementer. You just go. I mean, I implement. I led the teams about ad strategies specifically and ad setup, but I just wasn't in the. In the tip top of the company where you actually got to do, like, personal development growth. I'd never heard of that. I'd never experienced that. I just showed up, did my job, did the work, and that was it. And so that environment, just like it is for a plant, is so important for you when you're thinking about growing and flourishing, too. And if you. To really contrast, like, what does flourishing look like? So you can close your eyes and think about this real quick. Okay. So. So close your eyes. I want you to envision something where there has been so much rain, like a rainforest that's just so lush. It's flourishing. Right? So if you really close your eyes and think about what does, like, abundance and that flourish look like when you have a bunch of rain, all you see is green, right? Green is growth. Well, if you open your eyes and you really think about what does the exact opposite look of that look like. Looks like the desert. It's dry. There's nothing. You see absolutely nothing. You see dust, you have no growth, right? And so that's why I've developed this identity. And I want to encourage you to really think about. You are a freaking rainmaker. And so I want to give you the definition of a rainmaker, because as we think about what is prospering, what does flourishing mean? This is this. It all comes together for this rainmaker. So the definition of a rainmaker is someone with an unusual amount of skill that brings an extraordinary amount of revenue to a company. And that's what you want, right? Like, you want to literally have an unusual amount of skill. The people are like, how is that possible? How are they that good at that thing? And as a result, you have an extraordinary amount of revenue and abundance. That is what a rainmaker is. That is what I want for you. And that is why you cannot afford to feel guilty about wanting more success and money and growth and you wanting your ads to be profitable. You have to want your ads to be profitable, because if they're not and you don't figure it out. Now, listen, I'm not guaranteeing your ads are gonna be profitable in the first couple months. There's a figure it out period, right? But most people just give up during the figure it out period. If you will just push past that, you might actually be able to have immense. Prof. In your business. And I want you to feel good about that, not guilty about that. Because what that is saying is someone is saying, I want what you have more than I want my money. I want Robert's incredible video editing of this podcast so much more than I want the money, because this is valuable to me. You are exchanging value, and you should not feel guilty for being compensated for that and for wanting more growth. And that is why I just, I'm like, man, if I'm growing this community of rainmakers, what I can't do is have a single person sit there on the other side and think, I can't believe that she wants to grow the company still. Or I can't believe that I'm actually wanting, like, as you talking to you, feeling bad that you want more prosperity, because biblically, that is exactly what is planned for us. I really believe that. Right? So as a recap, if you really think about flourishing, the definition of flourishing is healthy, vigorous, successful, favorable environment. Prosper is thriving financially, and that is what is in the plan for us. And so here is where it all comes down to. This is why I say, in the right room, you bloom because isolation slows elevation, but collaboration speeds up your transformation. That is why whatever the room is, I mean, I'm over here wanting to invite you into the room of the Win with Paid Ads challenge. Ashley shares a transformative personal experience during the COVID-19 pandemic. While pregnant and isolated, she struggled with loneliness and a lack of a supportive environment. During a challenging walk, she listened to Rachel Hollis’s Girls, Stop Apologizing, which stated:

This revelation liberated Ashley from her guilt, inspiring her to pursue greater impact and success in her advertising career. She recounts pushing her stroller in a rough neighborhood, feeling a newfound freedom and motivation to seek prosperity without remorse.
To further illustrate her points, Ashley uses the analogy of plant growth:
She encourages listeners to envision prosperity like a lush rainforest, full of growth and abundance, contrasting it with a barren desert. This analogy underscores the importance of surrounding oneself with a supportive and flourishing community to achieve similar success.
Ashley introduces the concept of a Rainmaker, defining it as:
"Someone with an unusual amount of skill that brings an extraordinary amount of revenue to a company" (24:30).
She urges listeners to adopt this identity, emphasizing that striving for profitability in ads is not only acceptable but essential. Ashley addresses the fear of failure during the initial stages of advertising, encouraging persistence to achieve significant business growth.
