England fans were in dreamland. Not for long, though. And the tactics by Thomas Tuchel will be severely questioned from this point onwards. The England coach replaced goalscorer Gordon for defender Esri Conse on 72 minutes, changing England to a 541 formation. He also brought on Dan Byrne and Nico O'Reilly. So while England dropped deeper and deeper, Argentina started to really turn the screw. And the consequences were devastating. Two goals in six minutes and 24 seconds from the Argentinians won them the game. Enzo Fernandez curled in a stunning equalizer before substitute Lataro Martinez headed home the winner in the second minute of stoppage time. They're actually top for cross and pass accuracy. They've also scored more goals and have a higher shot conversion rate, meaning when they get their chances, they're more likely to take them. But overall, if we're judging this final purely on the numbers, Spain seem to edge it. But this final isn't being played on a spreadsheet. It is a World cup final and history has taught us one thing, and that is that anything can happen.
