Dr Bev Lawton discusses cervical cancer screening review

Almost a million notifications didn't get sent to women eligible for cervical cancer screening, after a new register was set up in 2022. A Health New Zealand review into the national screening programme says it's not an effective safety net and made 48 recommendations for change. Dr Bev Lawton, who has been a driving force in women's health and improving access to cervical screening, spoke to Ingrid Hipkiss.
