I'm Daily Wire Executive editor John Bickley. Georgia's off today. It's Friday, May 29th. This is Evening Wire. President Trump announced this morning that Iran has agreed to key peace deal terms. Daily Wire foreign affairs reporter Kassia Kiva has the latest.

The administration reportedly believes it is close to reaching an agreement with Tehran, though several major issues remain unresolved. Among the sticking points still under debate is whether the United States would unfreeze Iranian funds as part of a broader deal framework. The update comes just hours after Trump publicly outlined what he described as several key principles already agreed upon in a possible deal aimed at ending the conflict. In a truth social post, Trump said Iran would have to permanently give up any path through nuclear weapons and agree to the destruction of its enriched uranium stockpile. Trump also said the Strait of Hormuz must immediately reopen with unrestricted commercial shipping and no tolls, adding that the US Naval blockade around Iran would be lifted. Meanwhile, Iran is publicly disputing the president's characterization of the talks, with its Foreign Ministry spokesman saying that there are no negotiations underway in Tehran's nuclear program and that there are only talks on ending the war.

A 26 year old Texas man has been charged with making a terroristic threat after authorities say he threatened to kill Erica Kirk and bomb an upcoming Turning Point USA event. The probe began after a local newspaper shared a Facebook post promoting TP USA's Women's Leadership Summit, scheduled for June 5th through the 7th in San Antonio. Law enforcement says the suspect, identified as Jacob Winsky, wrote, quote, I know exactly where to bomb and I can't wait to be the valet for her escort. The warrant says that in an email, Winsky escalated his threats, writing death to Erica Kirk and every single speaker there. He also declared, quote, every Christian nationalist shall perish in the bombing that will take place at every single Turning Point rally and event. He was charged with a third degree felony count of making a terroristic threat involving fear of serious bodily injury and public disruption. Court records show his bond was set at a combined $120,000.

According to the Wall Street Journal, Putin has made anti aging science a top priority for the Kremlin. In 2024, Putin announced the new Health Preservation Technologies, a $26 billion initiative to beat aging. It has poured resources into a few avenues that include gene therapy and organ replacement. Putin himself touted organ replacement as the key to beating death. Last year, in a conversation caught on a hot mic with China's Xi Jinping, what were believed to be the aspirations of an aging strongman have been revealed to be the focus of extensive state backed research. In Russia, Putin has said that his anti aging initiative could save 175,000 lives by 2030. However, for all his talk, Russian scientists have produced very little research and results for scientific journals, unlike similar research funded by tech titans such as Jeff Bezos and Peter Thiel.

CBS says late night will now turn a $15 million profit after canceling Stephen Colbert Daily Wire entertainment reporter Amanda Harding has the story.
Mint Mobile Terms Announcer
Following the cancellation of the Late show with Stephen Colbert, CBS now says it expects to make $15 million in profit. That's because of its newly opened late night slot thanks to a deal with media mogul Byron Allen. The new deal has a time buy model, meaning that Allen's company will cover all production costs and pay CBS to air his long running show Comics Unleashed in the slot. A CBS spokesperson said that this arrangement shifts a slot that was previously losing $40 million per year to 15 million in profit, a $55 million swing. Byron Allen, the comedian turned billionaire behind Allen Media Group, has made similar moves in the past to push a low cost comedy format on previously struggling media brands.

Artists such as Morris day and Martina McBride said that they had extensive discussions with organizers who promised a nonpartisan event, but within days of the lineup being announced, they and others said they were misled. Bret Michaels of Poison said in a statement that the event, dubbed the Great American State Fair, turned into something much more divisive. It's not clear what in particular sparked the exodus. Organizers continue to say that the event will be a non partisan celebration of America. It was launched as part of President Trump's plan for a massive celebration of America's 250th birthday. Some artists, such as Vanilla Ice and Fab Morvan, have said they will still be performing.

And the Seattle LGBTQ Commission has requested that the city's socialist mayor declare a civil state of emergency due to a, quote, trans relocation crisis, a supposed influx of transgender and queer, quote, refugees from conservative states. The activists are calling for taxpayer funded housing, medical treatment and legal support from the city. The supposed crisis comes despite the commission's own letter admitting the city has no data showing how many people, if any, are actually relocating from Republican states. For that reason. The mayor nonetheless quickly signaled her full support even as Seattle struggles with a $175 million budget deficit. All right, this is your Drive Home Updates.
