Several countries are threatening retaliation in response to President Trump's new reciprocal tariffs policy. The European Union as well as China signaled they would hit US Exports with retaliatory tariffs. EU ambassadors are set to meet today to discuss the countermeasures. Meanwhile, Treasury Secretary Scott Besant urged countries to think twice before ramping up their tariffs. Here's what he told Fox News host Bret Baier.
Scott Besant (1:05)
My advice to every country right now is do not retaliate. Sit back, take it in, let's see how it goes. Because if you retaliate, there will be escalation. If you don't retaliate, this is the high water mark.

Markets took a dive today after Trump's new tariffs, sparking fears of a global trade war. The dow plunged over 1300 points, down 3%. The S&P 500 fell 3.6%, while the Nasdaq tumbled nearly 4.7%. Consumer discretionary, energy and tech sectors led the losses, while Staples edged higher.

Ford is letting everyday Americans pay like insiders. The automaker has launched a new From America for America campaign, offering U.S. shoppers employee pricing on most 2024 and 2025 for Ford and Lincoln vehicles through June 2. That means customers can buy cars below the dealer invoice price, matching what Ford workers pay. The deal excludes select models like the 2025 expedition, Navigator Raptor and Super Duty trucks. Electric vehicle buyers will also get a free home charger and standard installation through the end of June.

This is kind of to call a little bit of a timeout. We've heard some uncertainty from our customers and we want them to be assured that Ford, the most American auto company, is going to do right by them, as are our dealers. We make the most cars here, we employ the most, we export the most. And so we here at Ford we're in a good position to address customers concern and give them a really great deal on a great vehicle.
