Officials are scrambling to contain an outbreak of the New World Screwworm that's hit Texas particularly hard.
Brandon Herrera
The screwworm does have a 100% fatality rate in cattle, so that's something that we need to take care of.

Eczema is unpredictable, but you can flare less with ebglis, a once monthly treatment for moderate to severe eczema. After an initial four month or longer dosing phase. About four in ten people taking ebglis achieved itch relief and clear or almost clear skin at 16 weeks, and most of those people maintain skin that's still more clear at one year with monthly dosing.

The FBI has arrested several suspects involved in planning a shocking attack involving snipers and drones with explosives on the UFC Freedom250 event at the White House Sunday.
John Bickley
Joining us now with the latest is White House correspondent Mary Margaret Olihan, who's been in touch with officials and reviewed the charging documents. Thanks for coming on. So what have we learned so far about this planned attack?
Mary Margaret Olihan
The plan reportedly was to have the drones target buildings in the White House area, and then it would cause people to be herded to a specific spot where the snipers allegedly would have planned to shoot people down. Very scary situation. Since I was actually one of the people who would have been theoretically herded to this place. I was one of the many thousands who were gathered on the White House lawn watching at the fan fest. And what we're learning is that these guys had a second wave planned and that second wave would involve some kind of attack on the White House House itself.
John Bickley
So really elaborate. And according to reports, there were almost two dozen people that are potentially involved here. Is that correct?
Mary Margaret Olihan
Yeah, that's correct. Now, the officials said they arrested five people. That's Tyson Proper, Brian Omar Roa, and Michael Allen Thomas. What we know is that Proper was arrested in Ohio and Roa and Thomas were arrested in California. All of them are charged with conspiracy to commit murder. And we obtained a criminal complaint that shows that Proper is charged with also conspiracy to commit an offense against the US Attempted murder of an officer or employee of the United States, possession of a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence, and receipt or transfer of a firearm used to commit a felony. Now, according to the FBI of law enforcement, officer showed up to Proper's home after they were tipped off by his mother. She had called them around 9:15 on June 10 and said that her son, she was very concerned about him, that he had recently purchased firearms and tons of ammo and was communicating with people online about missions and plans of that sort. Now, what we also learned is that he reportedly used around $3,000 of his own funds that he got for his graduation to purchase boxes of ammo with thousands of rounds of this ammunition as well as multiple guns. And he had recently quit his job and was interacting with a lot of people online, becoming very obsessed with certain topics. He had joined a Group that expressed, quote, ultra religious and anti government sentiments, specifically citing grievances about government corruption, the handling of the Epstein files, data centers, taking up all the water in communities and other government actions.
John Bickley
And he had some specific language about the elites and government officials, is that correct?
Mary Margaret Olihan
Yes, that's right. So he said, and I'm quoting, that the plan was for members of his group to quote, act as snipers and additional shooters, preferably with long guns, staged at or near the southern evacuation point, to conduct shootings of members in the crowd and high value targets as they fled from the explosive devices which would theoretically have just been detonated. Now these high value targets include both wealthy people and politicians. And according to proper, this attack would have been designed to kind of jumpstart a revolution of some sort. He specifically talked about Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee because she had taken money from the pro Israel lobby. And that's according to text messages he sent to the other people in this group. He also talked about Senator Jim Justice, Shelley Moore, Capito, Carol Miller and Riley Moore. And their images which the FBI found appear to have been taken from the Track APAC website. Which means indicates to us that these guys were using these kind of anti APAC materials to get some of their targets for this attack.
John Bickley
Clearly we're seeing a pattern here with the thwarted attack on the White House Correspondents Dinner. What is the mood now in the Capitol? Is there a sense of elevated threat levels?
Mary Margaret Olihan
Well, it's interesting, John, because on the one hand we have seen so many attacks, when I walk into the White House, I often thank the Secret Service for protecting us. And they look a little grim as they respond to me because everyone's aware that on any given day something could happen. A crazy person or a radical could show up and try and commit some kind of crime against not only the President, not only his staff, but innocent bystanders and members of the press as well, like myself. So that fear is always there. It's always present, especially when you go to a law event of this kind. But at the same time, D.C. is moving on. There are so many people doing their jobs every single day. I think this is a good example in this case of how the Secret Service and the FBI work together to not only thwart this plot, but to know of it days ahead of time and to arrest a number of the individuals involved.
John Bickley
And thank God they did. Mary Morgart, thank you so much for reporting.
Mary Margaret Olihan
Thanks for having me.

A new world screwworm outbreak has hit the US and it's particularly impacting the Texas cattle industry where 11 of the 12 cases have been recorded. The flesh eating parasite, which comes in the form of a fly larva, has officials racing to stop it from spreading further.
John Bickley
Joining us now is Brandon Herrera, a gun content creator and congressional candidate for Texas 23rd district who has been federal officials to help contain the problem in his state. Brandon, thanks for coming on. First time on the show.
Brandon Herrera
How's it going, brother? I appreciate you for having me.
John Bickley
So you recently went to Washington to speak to lawmakers about the new world screwworm. We've just barely reported on this in the show, but it's become a major thing, particularly in your state. Can you tell us what is going on with that parasite and why are people so concerned with this problem?
Brandon Herrera
Absolutely. I was meeting with the epa, usda, Congressman Chip Roy, all of the leading experts, the screwworm, just to try to get a sense of what our response is and how things are going because it's incredibly important, not just to the country and to Texas, but to my district in particular. I think it's still true that about half of all new world screwworm cases in the United States are in my district. You know, it's down in Zavala county in Edwards County, I believe. And this stuff's very, very important to the ranching world and important to the the American beef production, to American meat markets in general. The screwworm has just about a 100%, it does have a 100% fatality rate in cattle. So that's something that we need to take care of because last time it came into the United States before we completely eradicated, really put the hammer down on our cattle markets.
John Bickley
So how can we realistically contain the screw worm? How difficult is that to do?
Brandon Herrera
So there's only one thing that can really solve the problem, and that's sterilized flies. I'll get into that in a second. Right now what we're trying to do is contain it until we get those facilities open. So that's going to be feed through additives, that's going to be certain pesticides being approved the FDA for use. But the sterilized flies are how we killed it in the 60s, and it's how we're going to kill it again. The problem with that is that after the problem was eradicated in the 60s, we shut down the facilities. And so we currently don't have anything in the United States that's going to be able to do the production that we need. The Trump administration did greenlight the production of one, I believe, last year, but it won't be open until sometime next year. Meaning we have to survive for an entire year without the ability to properly eradicate the threat. Now, we are buying sterilized flies from Panama. There's a facility going online in Mexico that. But the problem is it's not giving us even half of the capability that we need to fully defend the issue on the border.
John Bickley
I've got to be honest. Sterilized flies, I'm so ignorant on this. I can't believe this works. How do you possibly put out enough sterilized flies to make an impact on this?
Brandon Herrera
So the, the problem with screwworm is that it comes from the fly larva. And so if you release hundreds of millions of sterilized male screwworm flies, then the larva that are implanted by the female don't hatch, effectively killing three to 400, I believe, future screw worms that become a problem.
John Bickley
Unbelievable.
Brandon Herrera
It's. It's kind of wild. It was just, you know, it was the beginning of the nuclear age. And so one scientist just had the idea just to what if we essentially stuck these flies in a M wave and stop them from breeding? And it sure enough worked. And so that's, that's always been the solution that people were aiming for that, you know, all of the farmers and ranchers who were around back in those days, they know that that's the solution. We just have to get it online as fast as possible.
John Bickley
Amazing. And what is the latest? Is the problem getting worse? Is it being contained? How out of control is this situation?
Brandon Herrera
Well, that's the hard part right now is because it's the one thing that I don't think enough people are talking about that is different this time than when it was originally here in the 60s. Is one thing we have in Texas that we really didn't then was an infestation of feral hogs. So this isn't just in livestock. This is in wildlife and everything else. Now that we have a large, large population of feral hogs running about, there's super spreaders for the screwworm. They help the worm travel faster to different areas of Texas and across the country. And on top of that, unlike cattle, there's nobody there to watch them and supervise them and detect cases. So there could be cases much farther north that we don't know about and won't know about until we see it in some sort of livestock.
John Bickley
Just incredible. Let's hope this situation does get under control. Brandon, thank you so much for coming on.
Brandon Herrera
Absolutely. Thank you, brother. Thank you for having me.

In a highly anticipated TV moment, Vice President J.D. vance made his first ever appearance on ABC's the View. Y VP joined live in studio to promote his new book Communion while fielding questions on the economy and immigration.
Georgia Howe
Daily Wire culture reporter Megan Basham is here now with the details. So, Megan, I Think a lot of people were bracing for a very combative panel discussion. He was kind of walking into the lion's den there. So what was the tone of the discussion?
Megan Basham
Yeah, Georgia, you know, I would say that this was much more civil, probably than people were anticipating, because this did have to be one of the most anticipated media appearances of Vance's vice presidency. And it's in part because of how critical all six hosts on this show have been of him and the administration more broadly. I mean, that even includes, like, Alyssa Farah, who is billed as the conservative host, though a lot of conservatives feel she doesn't represent them. And in fact, even before this interview, host Anna Navarro publicly said that they should not allow it to become a, quote, unquote, free for all for Vance to promote his book. So even that framing was a little bit contentious there. But I think there were also some very high stakes here for Vance as well, because we are nearly halfway through this final Trump administration, and there's a lot of debate and discussion online about who his successor is going to be. So I think all eyes are on Vance as this book tour, in a very real way, is Vance's opening pitch to the American people that he should be the man to succeed Trump.
Georgia Howe
Now, speaking of contentious, what were some of the standout moments during that panel discussion?
Megan Basham
Yeah, so one of the big ones came when the hosts pressed Vance about President Trump's handling of the Epstein files. So at one point, the questioning became so pointed that a host asked whether he was serving as Trump's, quote, unquote, interpreter or as vice president.
J.D. Vance
One of the things you see in the Epstein emails is that Jeffrey Epstein hated Donald Trump and that Donald Trump literally reported Jeffrey Epstein to the police. That's one of the things that came out of these files. He knew Jeffrey Epstein back in the 1980s. He also threw Jeffrey Epstein out of his club when he found out he was a creep and reported him to the police. That's something that the media often misses when it reports this story. They tell the fact that they knew each other in the 80s, which the president himself admits. They ignore the fact that he narked on them to the police.
Megan Basham
He also fielded some tough questions on immigration.
J.D. Vance
Some of the people that I've been told by the media were completely peaceful, had never violated any laws. You actually look into the record and you find out that those people were actually being violent or they did have a criminal record. They had a sex. A sex draft conviction. You think that our immigration policies are inhumane based on the reporting of one person with a political bias. What I'm telling you is that it's inhumane to allow cartels to sex traffic
Megan Basham
people across our and then finally, Georgia, I would say that the most explosive exchange here was on race relations in the US because the host accused the Trump administration of throwing aside black Americans. That's a direct quote that Vance was not having that. He argued that Trump policies are benefiting black Americans as well.
J.D. Vance
Look at Washington, D.C. one of the most Democratic and one of the blackest by share population. Blackest cities in the United States of America has seen a radical decrease in violent crimes and sexual assaults and in murders. We have tried to take the crime issue seriously in part because we believe everybody, whether you're black or white or rich or poor, deserves to live in a safe neighborhood.
Georgia Howe
So do you think that this visit to the show and having Vance on and having this civil conversation is going to do anything to soften the relationship between the White House and the show? There is, of course, the FCC scrutiny on the View as we speak.
Megan Basham
You know, it's early to say, but I would guess probably not. But on the other hand, Vance appearing as the first Republican vice president or Republican presidential candidate to appear on the show is in itself a statement. And I do think that he used the platform very effectively to reach a different audience and that could boost his presidential hopes.
Georgia Howe
Well, it's a risk, but certainly an opportunity for him. Megan, thanks for reporting.
Megan Basham
Yes, my pleasure.
