On top of that, there are many reasons why someone might not want to hand out their cell number to everyone. What should someone do in a situation like this? In this video I'll explain what you can do if someone asks for your cell number, and you don't want to give it to them. Computers are less secure, and you downgrade your security when you link a privacy focused app, like Signal, to a less secure environment. You are effectively taking a very well protected environment, your phone, and extending trust to a much weaker one.
