Firefighters are continuing to battle a major wildfire on Slievenamon mountain in County Tipperary, where around 700 hectares have been destroyed. Residents are being urged to stay away from the area as emergency crews, the Air Corps and local farmers work to contain the blaze. We get the latest on the situation there with Carol Kennedy, Acting Senior Assistant Chief Fire Officer at Tipperary Fire and Rescue Service.

Local authorities are to conduct a review of childcare providers’ fees as a result of a direction from the Department of Children.T he review will begin this August. Ellen Coyne, Political Correspondent with the Irish Times brought us the details.
