July 1st, Baker Mayfield said that the contract talks between him and the Bucks are not going are not anywhere close and it's time to get something done. Long term. Obviously, yes, I would love to have a long term deal done, but they know my deadline as soon as training camp starts. We're not doing any contract stuff. It's all ball and it's not up to me when it's when that gets done. So excuse me. So hopefully before that, if not still going to have a good year, we'd love to be here long term. As of right now, that's not exactly the case, but I'm under contract for 2026. Baker is currently in the final year of a three year, $100 million deal. Baker average 33.33 million per season. 16th in the league in terms of quarterback play. O. Yes. You wait till next year to pay him or you get something done now.

I mean, obviously you want to make your quarterback happy. He's just starting quarterback. He's probably going to be the quarterback of your future until you answer the questions on who's going to be his successor. Right now, I think they will get a deal done. Obviously he has a deadline that's set now that can be a little tricky. He him setting the deadline is not going to make them move any faster. I can make any faster the way this business works. So if they can get a deal done, you know, when his deadline gets there. If they can't, they'll make sure they take care of him next year. Because there is no other answer for Baker Mayfield. There's no one else that they're going to be able to come in and replace him with right now that's going to be able to do some of the things that he's done for that franchise at the quarterback position.

The problem that you have, Ocho, you see what happened with Mike Evans. Mike Evans, like I wanted a contract done, y' all didn't want to do it. And he took less money to go to San Francisco.
