Joe
The Memphis Grizzlies are trading John Morant to the Portland Trailblazer for Jeremy Grant and Chris Murray. Ja, 26, played only 79 games in the last three season because of off court issues and injuries since his second consecutive All Star appearance in 2023. He joined the young Blazer Blazer team fresh off of his first playoff appearance in 2021, headlined by Denny. Yeah, him. I be. Yeah, Joe, you like that? My mic out?
Uncle Ocho
No, I hear you.
Joe
Okay. Do you like Ja going to Portland?
Uncle Ocho
Yeah, I mean, I guess, Uncle Ocho, you know, for me, when you think about it, no team carries four point guards. So you got Morant, Dame, Holiday and Scoot. I thought School Henderson showed a lot of growth and maturity in his game throughout the post season. Especially in that series against the Spurs. I know they only won one game, but hell, he played a pivotal role winning that game too in San Antonio. Them first two games he looked like you might have had something in Portland. And then after that he was kind of, you know, non existent. But I thought he showed flashes that, you know, you'll still continue to take chances on the young man. Cause I think he got potential to be pretty damn good, honestly. But with bringing Jai over there, you gotta be thinking that you're gonna get rid of one of these guys at least because I'm saying one, you probably gonna carry three, because hey, they two gonna start.
Joe
And what? And can Scoot play the point?
Uncle Ocho
We need some insurance.
Joe
Holidays, in your defense.
Uncle Ocho
We need some insurance. We need some insurance, Uncle Ocho. Meaning maybe Scoot come off the bench. School Henderson come off the bench. Maybe you deal Holiday because he probably has value and can go play for a championship contender team, you know. But man, the biggest thing is y' all gonna have to learn how to play without that ball, Uncle Ocho. You got to. You gonna have to be.
Chelsea Handler
I mean.
Joe Harris
But Dame don't have no problem playing.
Uncle Ocho
No, I understand that Dame don't. He Dame is a great catch and shoot guy. He can play off the ball. Yeah, but I think they gonna take turns. But hell, it's gonna be a lot of times I wanna see Ja Hit that lane. Go catch a lob. Hell. Hey, hey, hey. I think he can play off the ball as well. Meaning being cerebral as far as cutting to the basket. With his elite athleticism, bro, he just can't be a statue when Dame over there running pick and roll or something, you know, you gotta be able to mix it up a little bit, you know, be able to cut in there, get you some layups, get you some floaters, catch a couple lives. Gotta get that three ball percentage up. You know, we, we can say what we want, but shooting 20 something percent from the damn 39 days is a point guard.
Joe
Ain't gonna cut it.
Uncle Ocho
Ain't gonna cut it, bro. You know, you gotta get in the lab. I'm talking about should be in there right now tonight. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Joe
You know, like y, Y like last year.
Joe Harris
Yeah. Hey. Hey, Uncle Joe. I'm, I'm, I'm happy, I'm happy he's gone. Obviously. You know, my, my, I was wanted him, you know, down here in Miami. I think as far as leaving Memphis and having a reset, a mental reset and having a change of scenery, obviously I don't think Miami would have been the right place for JA Even with the infrastructure that the Heat have, as far as, you know, discipline and being able to watch over their players and those inside that organization always knowing where their players are at all times. I think Portland is a good place. It's a good place. It's not, it's not too fast. It's a good city. And for him to have a restart
Joe
ain't fast at all.
Joe Harris
Yeah, for him to have a restart on his career, I think he's in a good place and he's around some good people. Obviously Dane being in the game for a very long time is someone that can, he can take up under his wing and you know, show, you know, so young bull the ropes on, on how to conduct himself with this fresh start that he's having. So, I mean, I'm excited for ja. I'm excited to see, you know, what he does. He put up a post on his Instagrams about, you know, those that, that have counted him out, you know, so I'm curious to see, I'm curious to see the bounce back.
Uncle Ocho
Me too.
Joe
Yeah, I, I, hopefully he gets it. Look, if you was around me and I got in trouble, you can't go to Portland.
Uncle Ocho
Hello. Hello.
Joe
I'm just keeping it real with Jojo at any point in time. Yeah, you damn sure ain't going with me. You the one that had the Damn, IG live on when I had the stick out. Yeah, you definitely can't go.
Joe Harris
I remember that. You know what's hard, though?
Uncle Ocho
No, no,
Joe Harris
Joe, I know what you're gonna say. It's very hard to let certain people in your entourage go because the first thing they start saying is, oh, you change. Oh, you ain't.
Lele Pons
I did.
Joe
You're supposed to.
Joe Harris
Yeah.
Uncle Ocho
Hey, hold up. What we just talk about yesterday? Assets and liabilities, bro.
Joe Harris
Come on, Joe.
Uncle Ocho
Come on, man. Come on, come on. Hey, hey, hey. You gotta understand, okay? Ocho, the man that missed out, he already missed out on down to 200 some million dollars, you know what I'm saying? You think I'm finna let no, boy. I'll probably go to Portland by myself.
Joe
Hey, hey, Ocho. Now you just left Memphis. You going to Portland. You mess right around. Guess where your next stop be? Sumpton, South Carolina. Where you from? You gotta realize these teams don't need you. Yeah, they're a billion dollar entities. They're a billion dollar entity with five guys off the street.
Uncle Ocho
Hey, but look, I tell y' all one thing. I'm happy for him. That black and red gonna look nice on him. Them black and red jaws gonna look good. He's still gonna have top three, you know, five shoe out. Look, man, hey, you get a whole nother chance, bro. You gotta. You gotta lock in, Twin. You gotta lock in. Get to it. You gotta show them, boy, what they missing, man. Hey, hey, we been missing. Hey, look, he ain't gotta shoot the gun, throw the grenades and all that, but I want. I like to see him active. I like to see him going. You know what I mean?
Carrie Brownstein
Yeah.
Joe
All right, T, you, too.
Uncle Ocho
Yeah, Pops. You gotta get right, baby.
Joe
Okay, T, you, too.
Uncle Ocho
Gotta get right. Gotta get me right.
Joe Harris
Hey, hey, you know what the NBA basketball needs? Ja, they don't need him, but basketball still need Ja.
Uncle Ocho
He great.
Joe Harris
That Ja, that's having fun. That ja, that's playing above the rim, you know? That Ja, that's entertaining and polarizing. That Ja, that's putting no butts in the seats, giving people a reason to come watch, watch games. We need that job back.
Joe
Hey, and when you look at it, and he can be that, but he needs to be that. He needs to be off the court. So that carries on the court.
Joe Harris
Court. Yeah.
Joe
Because his. His life, his world got chaotic off the court.
Joe Harris
Yeah.
Joe
And he couldn't do two things at once, and it affected his play on the court.
Joe Harris
Yeah.
Joe
He's not. Ain't nobody. Ain't nobody Looking at ja the last three years, even though he only played 79 games and say that's the job they remember from four or five years ago.
Uncle Ocho
Right.
Joe
Let's be all the way real. Ain't nobody. Ain't nobody having that discussion. That's why I was. So think about what he went for at one point in time. Job was people talking about Ja like he was a top 10 player.
Uncle Ocho
Yeah, yeah, absolutely. Yeah. Hey, hey, he was a guy, man. He took those challenges playing against Kyrie and Dame, you know, playing against some of the top point guards back then. Steph Curry, you know, he always held his own. You know, I mean, but I think we all seen this coming because they got rid of all the veteran help, bro. You know, all the guys.
Joe
Oh, you know, when they traded Desmond Bane and they. And they traded Triple J, you know, he was next.
Uncle Ocho
Yeah, And Brooks, he traded. I mean, you trade. You trade your dogs.
Joe
They let Brooks walk. And Brooks says, I'm happy to walk because y' all told me I was the fourth best option. I can never show. Yeah, I like, I can play defense. But hey, don't get upset when I shoot the ball one time and everybody else doesn't. Shot it 15 times. And y' all look at me, y'
Uncle Ocho
all side eye, right? So.
Joe
But y' all got me guarding Katie, y' all got me guarding Jason Tatum, y' all got me guarding LeBron, y' all got me chasing Steph. Damn Curry. But when I take one shot, y' all looking all crazy.
Uncle Ocho
Yeah.
Joe
So it was a no brainer for him to leave to go to Houston, somebody that valued a defensive player, but now he looking at everybody else. They're like, hold on. He shoot 25 times. He shoot 20 times. I shoot five times. Y' all looking at me like I'm crazy.
Uncle Ocho
Hey, man, I. I just want to see. I want to see the young man have different body language. Body language don't lie, Uncle Ocho. You know, you. You can tell when a guy out there really enjoying himself, having fun, he loving the game. You know, maybe he is going through something that's off the court, but hell, once you get on the court, bro, all that's supposed to. You know what I mean? Like, you supposed to be able to lock in to where you just. You block out all that for the next two hours and you tap. You know what I mean? So I just want to see him get back to having fun, man, because you right, Ocho. He is great for the game. The game needs him. And listen, you get a chance to play with another elite guard. Him and Dame. Yeah, they may be a little small back there, but, man, you got to switch your game up now because. Yep, you gonna get to handle the rock. You're gonna get to run pick and roll, you gonna be able to playmate, but at the same time, you gotta be able to play off the ball and. And defensively, because of that long, wiry frame that he has, I think he can be a solid defender, bro. He just has to want to. You know what I mean? Like, he gotta be able. He gotta be able to affect the game more than just, like, giving you points. You feel me? Like, he one of them guys who probably gonna have to change his game a little bit.
Joe
Yeah. Oh, Joe, Joe, defense is all about wants.
Ari Chambers
You.
Joe
I see when they put a lot on the guy's plate, when you ask a guy to do a ton, it's hard for him to exert that kind of effort offensively and defensive. Run the offense, go give us 25 points a night rebound and facilitate. You're asking a guy to do a. That's why you have other guys. You see Shay, they say, shay, we need you to score. Hey, you give us five, six rebounds, we'll take it. You give us four, five, three, four, five assists, we'll take that, too. But I tell you what, Lou, Dort, Chet Wallace, Caruso, Joe, y' all better defend at an elite level.
Uncle Ocho
Yeah.
Joe
You understand. You got roles.
Uncle Ocho
Every.
Joe
What Business. If you go look at any business, they got a CEO, they got a president, a vp, a coo, a cfo, you got. You got manager, you got a regional manager, you got a branch manager, you got cashiers, you got guards, you got. Everybody got a role. The problem that you run into when somebody is a branch manager thinking he the regional manager, and they're thinking he the CFO or the coo. The vp. The president. Whoa, whoa. No, no, no, no. We hired you. We got those jobs. Those spots fail, Joe. Those spots fail. But he gets a new lease, old life. Hey, that's behind him. Move on. They didn't. I don't believe they wanted. They. I don't believe they wanted to get rid of John, but he became more problem than what he was worth. Had he been healthy. Giving you 30 a night, Joe.
Uncle Ocho
Yeah.
Joe Harris
Yeah.
Joe
Okay. We could. We can put up. Absolutely. Ocho, what is it?
Uncle Ocho
Production.
Joe
What? When production is here, tolerance is up here. Production can't be here in tolerance up here, that ain't gonna work. I don't give a damn who you are.
Joe Harris
Yep. Oh, yeah. You're gonna be good.
Joe
Production didn't match the tolerance that he was asking from him. And we understand that. It's not. It's not. No, they didn't dislike jaw and everything. They're just like, bro. It's always something with you. First of all, you're doing this crazy stuff off the court, and you hurt. And you hurt. You hear the stories about James Harden, man. James Harden. Hey, Vegas, he parked. James Harden getting you 35 a night. James Harden give you 51 triple doubles. You see the difference?
Joe Harris
Yeah,
Joe
LT. Hey, he would. Well, you go out there and win three Defensive Player of the Year, and you win or MVP as a defensive player.
Joe Harris
Yeah.
State Farm Announcer
Yeah.
Joe
You can sleep in the meetings.
Joe Harris
Hey, you were crazy.
Joe
Yeah, you could. Hey, man, Giant Stadium look lit up. I wonder what's going on. Damn. We got a game. Tell y' all the story. How he. He run it. Hey, he run it late for the plane. He pull up the valet, flipped the guy the keys. Hey, pick me up Sunday night at such and such a time. He got some stories for you, man.
Joe Harris
Hey, hey, Bill. Hey, Bill. Hey, Bill. Got the best stories on lt, man.
Joe
Yes. Because Bill was the DC Ocho. You're right.
Carrie Brownstein
Go ahead.
Joe Harris
Oh, man. As he told some of those stories, man, just, you know, in. In private settings. I don't know if public settings, but. Well. Lt was a wild. Joe. Oh, man.
Joe
Hey, you go to the hall and you get lt, because he normally. Him and Ricky Jack. Him and Ricky Jacks are really, really cool.
State Farm Announcer
Yeah.
Joe
And, man, they get. They get to tell the stories. Oh, man. I'm like, lord, have mercy. Lt.
Joe Harris
Oh.
Joe
Because as a matter of fact, Ricky Jack and LT came out the same year. All them came out in the same 81 draft. LT Singletary, Ronnie Lott, Dennis Smith, Ken Easley, all of them came out in the same. All the same guys came out. Came out in that 81 draft. Oh, JoJo. So he and Ricky Jack are really, really cool, but bad. That joker there, boy, he was a hate boy. Look here. I hate. I wish LT could have played in this era. Yeah. So people could see how. Because you. You. When you. We think, you see Aaron Donald, you see J.J. watt, you see Miles Garrett, he's all of them wrapped in one.
Joe Harris
But he wouldn't have been able to play. He would have been suspended. Hey, Joe boy, he. Man, he didn't play.
Uncle Ocho
Yeah.
Joe Harris
Protect who? Protect what? Quarterback. Yeah. Okay.
Lele Pons
Nah.
Joe
Hey, he the lt, Chop. Lt was taking the ball. He's the only player. He's the. He's the Most when you talk about he's the only player that made two position famous. He made the left tackle famous and he made the edge famous because you had to get somebody to block him and you had to find somebody like him. So the Michael Parsons, the T.J. watts, the Vaughn Millers, the DeMarcus Wares, all those guys, he did that. And so all these left tackles that you see, the big Chuck Williams and the Garrett Zimmermans, and all those guys, he did that, he made two positions famous. And look how they get paid. Who made the most money? Who made the most money on the offensive line? Left tackle. Who made the most money on the defensive line? The edge rusher.
Joe Harris
Edge rusher.
Joe
Yeah,
Uncle Ocho
boy.
Joe
Hey, look here, I can make a. He the greatest defensive player. I can make a case that he's the greatest player. He ain't getting out of the three. So whoever you think, if you like Joe, if you. Excuse me, if you like Tom, Jerry and lt for me, those are the three.
Joe Harris
Yeah.
Joe
Now I can make a compelling case for all of them being number one. But when it comes to defensive players,
Uncle Ocho
not him.
Joe Harris
Deal.
Joe
So that would. That would be the equivalent to somebody coming in, they win defensive rookie of the year and defensive player of the Year in the same draft in the same year. Remember now, the sack didn't become an official stat until 1982. Lt came in and won. So prior to that, they really didn't keep stacks sacks as a stat. Ain't none of my business though. Portland. So Joe Harris, Portland, they got Ja Dame, Lillard Holliday, Scoot Henderson and my cousin Shay.
Uncle Ocho
Hey, hey, look, they ain't really. If you really think about it, Augusto, they really had to give up nothing. I like Jeremy Grant, don't get me wrong, you know, and I like the Chris Murray kid who's a shooter, but you ain't really have to really tap into too much of your youth. Meaning like Scoot, Shady Sharpe, who still has the potential to be.
Joe
I don't know why they didn't play him though. Joe, we need to talk about that a little bit.
Uncle Ocho
I think that Danny, the Danny Kid, uncle, and Ocho, who's an all star this past year. I think he surprised a lot of damn people. If you want me to keep it 100. So they got some good problems, I probably say, over there in Portland. But hey, just like Minnesota. I think Portland will be fun to watch, you know, obviously making the A seed. I don't. I mean, I don't know how good this is going to make him, you know, you Lose a guy like Jeremy Grant, man, he. He's a prototypical guy who you want on your team. You know, I think he could be a good piece, you know, for a good championship contender team.
Joe
If you think your family got drama, wait till you see Little Brother on Netflix. You got John Cena playing a big time real estate superstar whose perfect life gets turned upside down when his wild little brother, played by Eric Andre, comes crashing back into the picture. And trust me, Eric Andre is complete chaos. This thing got everybody in it. Michelle Moynihan, Christopher Maloney, Ego Wodom, Sherry Cola, straight comedy heavyweights. The movie has outrageous moments, R rated physical comedy, crazy situations, but it also has heart. That's what surprised me. You're going to laugh a lot. But underneath all that madness is really about family, pressure, rivalry, and trying to hold your life together when everything goes off the rail. If you've ever watched one of them luxury real estate shows, oh, they're having fun with that too. Watch Little Brother now playing only on Netflix.
Uncle Ocho
Yeah.
Joe
Hey, I just want to see Dame shoot the ball from 35.
Uncle Ocho
I'm talking about act a fool with it ain't a man.
Joe
Yeah, yeah. I mean, it just so happen. Think about it. If there's no Steph Curry, he's the greatest shooter of all time. He just so happens to be in the same era as the guy that's the greatest shooter of all time.
Joe Harris
Right?
Joe
In fact, I mean, if you think about. Look at all these guys that was in Tigers era. Vijay Singh was really good. Phil Mickelson is really good golfer. Ernie Ailes is a really good golfer. They just happen to be playing when Tiger played.
Joe Harris
Hey, I got a question, though.
Joe
Yes.
Joe Harris
Huh? You said outside of Steph Curry, the greatest shooter is Damon Lillard. So where do we put Clay in that conversation?
Joe
He ain't better than Dame, huh? Not to me.
Joe Harris
Okay, okay, okay, okay.
Joe
Not to me. I'm taking Damn. Look, because I think the thing is, because the way he can shoot off the dribble and the weight, the distance at which he can shoot it.
Joe Harris
Right, Okay, I see what you're saying.
Joe
Only Steph Curry can ride with the distance. Did you see the shot he hit on? I mean, he's hitting buzzer beaters against Houston. Hit a buzzer beater against okc.
Uncle Ocho
Yeah, I know.
Joe
And to shoot the ball from where he shot.
Uncle Ocho
Hey, hey, hey. Real talk, Ocho. He like one of my favorite guys to watch, bro. I ain't gonna lie. Like, when it comes to guards, like, you know, he take his matchup Serious, he take it personal, he compete at the highest level. But like Ank say, you know, he got, he shoots 20, I mean he at least another seven to 10ft behind the three. You know, it's hard to guard guys like that. Listen, it ain't many guys who gonna
Joe
pull up that deep.
Uncle Ocho
You got to be practicing that. Uncle Ocho, that man practiced those shots
Joe
for sure, you know what I mean?
Uncle Ocho
To be able to shoot him with confidence in the game. Them long that one step, two steps across half court and you letting it go. Come on bro,
Joe
only two guys in the history of the game that you've had to pick up at half court. Steph Curry and Dame Lillard. Yeah, you let him see space if you want to from 30ft.
Joe Harris
Hey, remember, remember, do you remember that
Joe
Saturday night game when Steph pulled up, they was down the whole night and he pulled up against OKC and he started.
Uncle Ocho
Yeah, yeah.
Joe Harris
Hey, remember Damon Russ was going, yeah,
Uncle Ocho
yeah, them used to be my favorite one.
Joe Harris
And that, that's the game he, he whatever shot he hit and he had that.
Uncle Ocho
Yeah, he did that.
Joe Harris
Bye bye.
Joe
Yeah, that was the one. Yeah,
Joe Harris
I remember that.
Uncle Ocho
Over Paul George. Paul George. Cause look, even watching the game, I'm like, damn man, it's three seconds. That man ain't even making no move yet. So if I was guarding him, I would have been like Paul George too. I'm like, hell man, we 40ft out the damn we.
Joe
Thank you.
Uncle Ocho
You mean it?
Joe
I ain't finna do nothing crazy. Cause I know he got handles he can get by me. Hey, you wanna sit out here and bull job around, I'm Gonna let you
Uncle Ocho
three seconds on the clock. Ocho, you 40ft from the basket. I'm like, hell, I'm gonna stand there too. Cause I don't think you see the damn clock and this man Sidestep you 40ft out. Cash money. Come on, bro.
Joe Harris
Hey,
Uncle Ocho
you take a lot of confidence, working confidence.
Joe
Hey, I mean that Joker, man. Hey, you remember that? There was a couple of games, like, man, he was going crazy like in the bubble. He dropped 50 something on, on the Nuggets. I mean he got a 70 point game. I think he got that against my Hawk.
Uncle Ocho
You know what? You know what made him cold blooded to me? Cause I remember when Kobe passed away and the first game the Lakers played, the tribute game was against Portland in la. Ocho, that man came in LA and showed his ass. Do you hear me, man?
Joe
He put a 40 piece on him.
Uncle Ocho
I said, dame gotta be the most disrespectful mofo I know to come in, you know what I'm saying? But when you think about it, on Kobe's night, he would want it no other way, you know what I mean? And bro, he put on a performance, bro. I think he had like 40 something. But he cut a rug on them boys at night.
Joe
Yeah, he did. Meanwhile, Memphis has traded all three of his former franchise cornerstones. John Morant, Desmond Bain, Jaren Jackson Jr. Since being swept by OKC. Then the the Thunder in the first round of 2025 playoffs. I think it was with a game three.
Uncle Ocho
Yeah, they was up that they had
Joe
a 20 something point lead in joggers ankle and they came all the way down and we know they were going to win. It looked like they might have been able to win that game. I don't think for me they was going to win that series, but they would have won that game. And then once that. But you know, hey, they started disassembling it piece by piece. You see Jasmine Bane go to Orlando, you see them send Triple J off to Utah accumulating picks. They probably got what, seven first round picks now.
Uncle Ocho
But hey, I don't think, I don't think they really initially really wanted to get rid of Ja. I think but with the injury starting to pile up on them. Akin Ocho. Yeah, you know, you know why? He still has some pretty good value. Maybe we need to go and get off of. Maybe he need a fresh start.
Joe
And he got two years left on that deal. What normally happens with two years left on the deal, Joe. Yeah, do it. Redo it. What, what, what, what, what that means. So he make. He got two years at 87 million. So that's 43 and a half. He 26. He ain't looking to go under 47 and a half. 43 and a half. He looking to go above that, right?
Joe Harris
Yes, sir.
Joe
So that means you're gonna have to pay what, 50, 55 minutes?
Uncle Ocho
60.
Joe
Listen, he's like, nah, I can't in good conscience do that. Given your injury history and your behavior.
Uncle Ocho
Yeah. And this is why I say this is a great refreshing start for him. Because he still can get to that bag on Ocho. His ass just gotta be available and he gotta be ready to play period, point blank. You come out and show your butt this year, man. Hey, next summer we'll be talking about Ja Done got, you know, xyz.
Joe
You got the bag? Yes, sir.
Joe Harris

Jake Brennan
I'm Jake Brennan and on my podcast Disgraceland, I tell the stories behind music's biggest names, the moments, rumors and real life events that helped shape their legacy. Like the story behind Sonic Youth that starts with downtown New York cool and ends with album art inspired by a true crime. Sonic Youth was not fronted by a groupie hustling alpha like David Lee Roth. No, Sonic Youth's Thurston Moore was an artist in love with a fellow artist who just happened to play bass in the same band with him and his other artist friends. Her name was Kim Gordon, and Thurston and Kim were every bit as cool as the couple on the COVID of Goo. The same couple involved in in one of the UK's darkest true crimes. Disgraceland is part of the Exactly Right network. Listen to new episodes every Tuesday, bonus episodes Thursday, and rewinds on Sunday on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.

Joe
Miami. Yanis traded in Miami for that. For that package. Bobby Foris Competez.
Joe Harris
Three first round picks.
Lele Pons
One.
Joe
Wow.
Joe Harris
I told what? I told you. I can't.
Joe
I gotta get BP back on here.
Joe Harris
I can't wait till y' all say. I can't wait till y'.
Fred Armisen
All.
Lele Pons
Tim.
Joe
Hey, Ojo. We gotta get BP back on here. Giannis. So chat. Did you hear that?
Joe Harris
Hey, I want y' all to say
Joe
traded to the Miami Heat. Giannis and Bobby Porters goes to the Heat. Tyler Hero, Kale Ware, Jaime Haquez. Three first round picks a pig swap and a second round pick goes to Milwaukee.
Joe Harris
Hold on. Oh, so Bobby. Bobby came to Miami too?
Joe
Yeah, that's why I said we gotta get BP back on here, man.
Joe Harris
I told. I told. Remember what Bobby said about when I told him Giannis was coming here. Yeah, and little did he know he was a part of it.
Carrie Brownstein
Huh?
Joe
Okay, block shove. The Milwaukee Bucks are trading franchise icon Giannis Antetokounmpo and Bobby Portis to the Miami Heat. Tyler Hero, Kale Ware, Jaime Hawkez. I can't even pronounce this other guy's name, so I'm not Gonna Butcher it. Three first round picks, including number 13. One pick swap and a second rounder. Sources tell ESPN.
Uncle Ocho
Well, there you go.
Joe
Somebody says Mitchell Robinson going to the Bulls. Also, they are going to draft Acuff, Trey Giddy. We should make the playoffs. This is why this is this. We can buy what we want and compete fast. But you just. I guess. I mean, you just traded for Claxton.
Joe Harris
Hey, yeah, I'm still looking to see where that's at.
Joe
Giannis.
Joe Harris
Yeah.
Joe
The Shams shop reported it 58 seconds ago. Y' all is gonna like that. That new deal. Hey, note the taxes, nice weather he gave.
Joe Harris
He get to meet me.
Joe
Yeah. So now, okay, we got one big domino fall. Okay. Where does Ja go?
Joe Harris
Hey, didn't I tell you? I say Pat got one more thing up his sleeve.
Joe
He ain't got nothing to offer. You would say trading.
Joe Harris
Bam. No.
Uncle Ocho
Okay.
Joe Harris
Hey, but I just. It's still something up his sleeve. Now give. Give him time.
Joe
Wow.
Uncle Ocho
Giannis is gone.
Joe
Get the shisty. Somebody say Joto. Orlando Ocho can't believe Jalen Brown's Finals MVP got drafted before Tatum. Top three pick in 2016 get traded over blowing a 31 lead or over that podcast Cold World. He. Look, I think the thing. Is it. Considering there's so much smoke, is it a situation, Ocho, where you almost damn near like, have to trade JB now, are you cool bringing him back? Because he already know how y' all feel about it. Because every time a trade scenario comes up with his name.
Joe Harris
Well, he's the only person of value to. A value to talk about. Who else we gonna talk about trading jt? We ain't talking about nobody else. But if. If I was. I mean, they're not gonna let him go. They understand how important he is. And obviously, even with JT being a year removed from that Achilles tear, him still having, you know, he was efficient, he was good during this time. You don't want him to have to leave that team again by himself. No, no, they not let. They not. They're not letting him go nowhere.
Joe
So you think he stays at least one more year?
Joe Harris
Yeah, absolutely. At least one more. At least one more.
Joe
Who said that? That's what they want. I. I don't know. I don't see that. LeBron and Pat after that. Man that took his cookies.
Joe Harris
Oh, back. Oh, back. Back to back. Back to. Oh, I like that. I like that.
Joe
I bet you LeBron back to Miami. I bet you do, huh?
Joe Harris
With Bobby. With Bobby P. And Giannis. Hold on, Let me text LeBron.
Fred Armisen
Hold on, hold on.
Joe Harris
Let me text LeBron.
Joe
That bad. Busy. He said he ain't fooling with you. I need to invite Rich Paul on here one night.
Joe Harris
Yeah, tell. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Tell him, boy. Come on.
Joe
No, who the point guard? I mean, who's the. I mean. Yeah, Giannis and Bam. Okay, you got two guys that can protect the paint, right? But who's the point guard?
Joe Harris
LeBron.
Joe
So the question is, what y' all do? Are y' all bringing back Norman Powell?
Joe Harris
Hey, Pat got something up his sleeve. I don't. I don't want to disclose any more information. You know, I've already done more than I should, and once again, I am right as I am 98 of the time. I'm just. I'm gonna just leave it at that. Mickey Harrison and Pat Riley have some up their sleeve, and we're gonna see if it works.
Joe
According to Shams, Yanis is expected to be traded before the start of the NBA draft Tuesday, with the Celtics and Heat emerging as finalists to land the buck superstar.
Joe Harris
You don't say.
Joe
Are not expected to include a third team in the Giannis trade, according to source and are focused solely on negotiating with the Celtics and the Heat. Sources, excuse me. Told Shams that if traded the 2 Milwaukee for Giannis Brown would remain with the Bucks. Ocho, the more that ain't gonna happen if you're the betting man Giannis ends up in Miami, or does he end up in Boston?
Joe Harris
But if you're a bad man, I didn't told you all the past six months where he was going. I don't know how long I've been saying it. You know, I ain't gonna tell you who my source is, but again, everything I say, listen, I might tell a joke or two, but I ain't gonna lie to you, right? I said we was going a long time ago. You know, y' all laughed it off. Y' all ain't believe me, but I told you he's down here looking for houses.
Uncle Ocho
Boom.
Joe Harris
Now it comes down to it, hey, listen, Giannis Tatum and Jalen Brown, that ain't happening. We know that's not happening. No, he gonna be in Miami. You know, Pat Riley got Something else on his sleeve. Obviously, when Giannis get here, he got one more movie trying to make. We'll see if that comes into fruition so we can compete in the East. We don't want to be decoration. We want to be playing, you know, not in the playing, but being a seed.
Joe
Clearly, Boston have the most assets. You get Tyler Hero, you get Jaime Hawkez, you get Kale Ware, and you got, if I'm not mistaken, if I was reading it correctly, you get three first round picks and you get some pick swaps.
Joe Harris
Yes, sir.
Joe
Now, on the flip side, you get Jaylen Brown, you get two late round draft pick. Two for late first round draft picks. I don't know the guy. You can put it up here. Okay. The Miami Heat would send Tyler Hero, Jaime Highcast, Kale Ware, Nicola Nicola Hobbit, pick 13, two future first round picks. Boston would send Jalen Brown, Hugo Gonzalez, pick 27 and a future first round pick. Now the question is, do you trust your scouting department? Do you trust your drafting department? Because you got a team that can go play right now with Hero. Hawk Heads, Ware, Havoc. Considering what you still have there, Jaylen Brown is a number one option. He's going to sell tickets, so. But it seems to me they want draft capital. Remember, they bought Dame Lillard out of his deal. They still owed him like a hundred something million.
Ari Chambers
Damn.
Joe Harris
So.
Joe
But if you give up all that, if you the Heat, bam. And Giannis ain't winning no championship, he
Joe Harris
got one more trick up they sleeve, huh? I'm gonna see if it work.
Joe
I sure hope so, because this happens every time. Ocho, is that you give up all your assets.
Joe Harris
Yes, sir.
Joe
And when the guy get there, the cupboard is bare. That's what happened. See, Just imagine if the warriors had to trade for Kevin Durant. Now you can't keep all those pieces.
Joe Harris
Yeah.
Joe
Because he's a free agent and you didn't have to give up anything.
Joe Harris
Anything. Yeah, made it easy.
Joe
Made it easy. When they mad at us, you see the chat. They mad enough. Y' all keep. It's always. It's always us. He could see himself playing for someone other than Milwaukee out of his own mouth. That's what he said. I didn't say that. Joe didn't say that. You didn't say that. The media didn't say that. Giannis said he could see himself playing for someone other than the Bucks. Yeah, I be a damn if they ain't get mad at us. The media. Y' all keep bringing it up. Y' all keep bringing it Up. It should have gave you. It should have gave you pause for cause. When he didn't sign the extension in year five, he didn't mention nothing about playing somebody else. In year eight, he didn't mention about, say, playing somewhere else. And year 10, now all of a sudden, he mentions he could the possibility of playing elsewhere.
Joe Harris
Yeah.
Joe
And he didn't sign the extension. That would have kept him there.
Joe Harris
They thinking what they hard, huh? They think about their heart not thinking, but they mind. That's all.
Joe
No, don't be mad. Ain't no messy. No, y' all messy. Y' all get mad at us. All we do is report. How do we have something report on if there's nothing? Y' all get mad. Every time when we Ocho and I told you something was brewing in Philly, y' all got mad. How you know you ain't in the locker room. All you do it is tabloid. Do y' all think y' all really be thinking people nightly? I'm not saying they don't, but 98% of the time, the sources. The sources is the head coach, the general manager, the owner, the player personnel, the scouting department. That's the source. And guess what? In a sprinkling of players in there.
Joe Harris
Mm, yeah. Shoot. I've been getting cussed out all day on Twitter. Talk about the Cleveland Browns and Deshaun Watson, you know, hey, they cussing me out, talking about I don't know what I'm talking about. Oh, and Jerry Judy, your source. I say, hey, Unc, this had nothing to do with Jerry Judy. You talking about. Oh, we took a picture a few days ago, and all of a sudden, now I'm saying what I'm saying. No, for one, Jerry Judy's from Miami.
Joe
Right.
Joe Harris
We grew up together. I'm just a little bit older. I mean, you would hope people understand that. But no, I'm using common sense and logic. The money's going to play. There's nothing wrong with Shador. I love Shador. I've said it countless times. He played well. He played well last year. You know, had some ups and downs. He has some growing pains. Yes. But if desean Watson is healthy, he's going to be the starter whether you like it or not. Because of the money.
Joe
Yep.
Joe Harris
It's common sense. If you understand the game, that's it. That's not a source. That's me having common sense in how the game goes.
Ari Chambers
So.
Joe
So in other words, they mad at the messengers. Cause when Adam Shefter say that, y' all don't say Adam shept to be a messy. When Sean say that, y' all don't say Sean's being messy. Right when wo used to break story after story after story after story, y' all didn't say Woj making it up. So why Ocho and I got to be making it up? And y' all come to the conclusion, well, Jared, Judy, you took a picture. Why does it matter how we got our information? We telling you something you didn't know, and then you turn around, oh, wait, we all knew that. No, you didn't. Cause you argued me enough. Oh, yo, down. But y' all knew it now. But I'm just saying, why is. Why is it Woj? Why is it Jay Glazier? Why is it Shams? Why is it all those other people that give y' all inside information that they got from sources? Why aren't they messy? I've never heard, and I follow Shefter. I've known Shepter longer than anybody, anybody that espn. Shefter and I used to go to dinner. His mom and dad used to go to come to town. We would go to an Italian restaurant called Carmines. Ask him. He got to Denver the same time I got to Denver. I've looked up on his comments. Not one time have y' all ever said the man was messy. I look up on the Sean's comments. Never. You say messy, I look up on the joke. So I just need y' all to tell me why. When we give you information from a player standpoint, and we can see things that you can't, we can understand things that you can't, why is Ocho and Unc being messy? Just answer me that. Go ahead, chat. Take off.
Joe Harris
They, they, they, they, they.
Joe
No, ain't no. Crash out. I'm asking y' all a simple question. Don't know. Crash out. Answer the question.
Joe Harris
Hey, no, they got. They.
Joe
No, I don't want to relax. I'm fine. I've been sleep all day. See, you see that? You Ocho instead of answering the question, crash out, relax. No, tell me why Ocho and I are messy. Adam Schefter report the same thing. Adam Schefter said things were going on in the locker room when Ocho and I tried to tell you you just being messy. Y' all start. Y' all will never say Adam Schefter starting anything. Y' all never say Sean starting anything.
Joe Harris
I don't nobody listen to me. Cause I, I, I'm. I play so much. I ain't been. I'm right 98% of the time, I'm. I'm right. 98% of the time, anytime I say something,
Joe
I don't. You know what, Ocho? I don't say anything. Because if I were to say stuff, y' all gonna try to pinpoint who I got it from, right? So to keep everybody safe, I don't say nothing. I just let it play out. Let it play out. Y' all find out in time. It's like. It's like when the levee bust, man. Why don't you tell me it's gonna flood? Y' all gonna find out sooner or later.
Joe Harris
Yeah,
Joe
I know a lot. That ain't my job. I will let it play out because all you gonna do is tell me. I don't know what I'm talking about. That's all you're gonna do. Tell me. I don't know what to talk about. We've been so. I was on this O.J. aJ Brown since October. And I say, the reason why you don't do that, I say, because you have a game, if you're not careful, and when they come to you, Ocho, you don't make no plays, they gonna
Joe Harris
let you have it.
Joe
And I be damn. The Rams game, the playoffs, Ocho, it came full. It came full circle.
Joe Harris
Yes, sir.
Joe
There are a lot of things I see y'. All. Y' all forget that a lot of these coaches, a lot of these general managers, I know them. You ain't get it from me. Okay? Call me what you want to, but just call me correct. Say what you want. Just say I'm correct. Why is it so hard for people to give people credit? Especially our people? Y' all are getting Adam Shefter. Y' all get Adam Shefter credit like it's nothing.
Ari Chambers
Po.
Joe
Me and Ocho, we just. Me and Ocho, just a pole hustler trying to grow a channel.
Joe Harris
Yeah.
Joe
We can't get no credit.
Joe Harris
You know, he got.
Uncle Ocho
He.
Joe Harris
He got that big. That big entity behind him.
Joe
You know, it ain't damn the entity, Ocho. We've been telling. We. Look here, we played the game.
Joe Harris
Yes, sir.
Joe
We telling you what we see. We telling you the interactions that's taking place. Having been a receiver, having been a tight end, haven't dealt with the quarterback. Tell you something, all the years experience that we got between us, we got 50 years of playing football.
Joe Harris
Yeah.
Joe
Organized football. But now we don't know what we talking about. So I'm crashing. And guess what? Y' all listen to me. Crash out. I love it. All the day all the days y' all call it y' all still y'. All. I just don't I say what day of man. Ocho can say something. Yeah, this sure did such and such. Hold on me. Ocho said that. We don't get it. You ain't got it yet. Nope. No. Now you get it. Now you. Now they get it.

I'm Jake Brennan, and on the Disgraceland podcast, I explore the wild lives of rock stars and unbelievable true crime stories from music history. These are the stories you haven't heard, the kind you'll end up telling someone else. Like the time Paul McCartney spent in one of the world's most notorious prisons. Imagine that you're Paul McCartney. It's 1980, you're an ex Beatle, and you're doing time in one of Japan's worst prisons right there alongside Yakuza gangsters. And for a ridiculous charge or the bizarre crime Lady Gaga is accused of. Who is the artist? Lady Gaga is being accused of doing the unthinkable to after allegedly stealing her music and style to become famous. And what about that time Blondie's Debbie Harry escaped a serial killer? The man who had given her that ride she barely escaped from was Ted Bundy. Listen to Disgraceland on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts.

Victor with miyama size of 5 year 252 million dollar max rookie scale extension when we decided to take the 25 max instead of the 30 super max that would have with escalators would have been 303 million dollars. So are they gonna see that on the screen? Ash so his salaries 27 is 43 43,310,000 it could have been a tick below 52 billion. And then he goes to 46, 7, 70 and it could have been 56 million 130. And then he goes to 50 million 240 and it's a tick under 60.3 million. In 30, 31, it goes 53.7 to 64.45. So basically he took a $51 million. 50, $51 million cut to state birds chairman Peter J. Holt, CEO R.C. buford and Brian Wright and coach Ms. Johnson traveled to Paris to meet him and spend time with Victor and his family and his reps Friday. When Miyama essentially locked to earn a 300 supermax if he played 65 games next year, but opted to take significant left sacrifice at a flashpoint for the spurs to rise. NBA PA is preparing to fight back hard against the second apron. Especially now that the news of Wimby passing up the Supermax to help the spurs try to keep the roster together long term. The CBA should not be put on the player in position where he has to carry the burden in order to keep a team together. A system does that, we have a problem. I agree. Don't put that on us. Don't put that on us. On the players. They always do that. And I knew this was going to come because we talked about with the Jalen Brunson. Yeah, we talk. This is what teams are going to expect from their players. Nah, bro.
Uncle Ocho
Yeah. Yeah.
Joe Harris
Everybody's not gonna do that though. Especially teams that are not in a position like the Spurs. Are the spurs in a perfect position where if you do take a discount, there's a good chance that we can get the finals.
Joe
But you know how players come up,
Joe Harris
you know, and they are eligible Supermax, they ain't taking no discount because hey, we we very far.
Uncle Ocho
You know how they gonna paint the picture though, Uncle Ocho?
Joe
You selfish.
Uncle Ocho
Yep.
Joe
Selfish.
Uncle Ocho
You know how they gonna paint the picture? They gonna paint the picture just like that. But I think in Wimy's case, hell, he gonna make so much money off the court here, he gonna make up
Joe
all that I'm gonna get. Because guess what? I can still get this max contract and still get my money. Cuz guess what? I guarantee you them tickets ain't gonna get no cheaper.
Uncle Ocho
I know.
Joe
Even though women took a $50 million hit, you think they gonna lower or raise the ticket prices every single year moving forward? Ocho, are they going to concession? Do you think they're going to raise or lower the concession every single year moving forward? Joe, let me ask you a Question. NBC, Amazon prime, espn. Tell me which one they gave a discount because these players are taking a discount, right?
Joe Harris
You right.
Uncle Ocho
Well, it just.
Joe
We're gonna talk about this in a second. Joe, before you go, you see what the Seattle Seahawks just went for? Joe Ocho. What they went for 9.8, 9.6. He bought the team in 1997 for 194 million.
Uncle Ocho
Damn.
Joe Harris
That's crazy.
Joe
If I'm not mistaken, I think it was 2023. Washington sold for 6 billion. Three years later, an extra 3.6 billion. Now I want to know, did they say, you know what? I'm going to give you a discount on this. I know we worth about 9.6, but I'm going to let you have it for 9. You see how they do and play, and fans going to eat it up. Fans don't know. Even if. Even if the team sacrifices money, you still gonna pay full price. Your PSLs ain't gonna go down. Your playoff tickets ain't gonna. Price ain't gonna go down.
Uncle Ocho
You're right.
Joe
But, hey, they. They've. They've. I'm not gonna tell a player what he should or shouldn't do. That's your money you want to take. You want to give the team a discount, Give your team a discount.
Uncle Ocho
Hey, listen, you got Cat about to get ready to come up. What Cat gonna do?
Joe
Cat said. Cat said he'd be willing to do it. That's what he said. But I'm looking. I already got me a ring.
Joe Harris
I. I would. I was just getting ready to say.
Uncle Ocho
But you did in New York. You beloved like you?
Joe
I'm gonna be beloved in New York, too. They gonna pay me all money, my money.
Uncle Ocho
Hey, but what about the squad, though? If we pay you all that money, we're gonna have to get rid of two guys. We might have to let Bridges or OG a heart or somebody go.
Joe
We.
Uncle Ocho
We want to keep the band together, don't we? We want to run it back.
Joe
They just gave OG five years for 206. 28 comes up, he'll be eligible for a 400. I'm just. I. I don't tell anybody how to live their life. If that's what you want to do, Cat, if that's what you want to do to keep this thing together, keep it together. But all I'm saying is the owner said he's not going until the second apron, so he ain't willing to sacrifice nothing. But he want the player to sacrifice.
Uncle Ocho
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Joe
You see?
Joe Harris
Hey, y' all can hear me,
Fred Armisen
People
Joe Harris
Knocking on my door.
Uncle Ocho
They saying you too loud?
Joe Harris
Yeah, probably. Hey, security.
Uncle Ocho
But you gotta be able to. You gotta be able to some way somehow help teams that do draft pretty well, Ocho, you know what I mean? Like, it's gotta be something that can help them. Cause how do I get punished for drafting? Well, and obviously I gotta pay all these guys, but damn, it's gotta be some type of stipulations to where it's got to be some in our favor.
Joe
Well, it's going to be, what you call them, the OKC going to be faced with this.
Uncle Ocho
Oh, yeah.
Joe
You think they're gonna get them guys a third contract, Joe?
Uncle Ocho
Give who a third contract?
Joe
Okay, see with Shay and Chad and J Dub. So you mean to tell me I'm have now I'm gonna have three guys making 300 million, right? I got three guys, damn, they're making a billion.
Uncle Ocho
So out of them three, one of them gotta go.
Joe
Absolutely. And before you know it, they gonna wheel them down and both of them have to go. Shay is the only. I believe Shay is the still the only untouchable. So basically, think about it. Boston only had two guys making that super max money. And they say one of them had to go.
Uncle Ocho
Damn. So they gonna. They gonna mess around and get J.
Joe
Yeah, but here's the pa. This is what upsets me about player association. Gojo, y' all agreed to this. You just did this deal. You agreed to it. You got sellers remorse. Now you signed up on this because you were so hell bent on making sure teams don't become super teams that you gave this and you knew the owners like, ain't no way in hell I'm paying for all this. But what it does, it punishes players that are in line to get supermax contracts. Now teams get up off them.
Uncle Ocho
Yeah, that's basically what's happening.
Joe
You signed this deal. Terry Crews, T. Cruise. I've been knowing T. Cruise. He played with my brother. So I've been knowing T. Cruise 30 years. When I sat down with him, he said, shannon, a lot of people in Hollywood, he said, they nod yes, but they mean no. Yes, no, you, Joe. They just signed this deal, Joe. Yeah, so. So unless the owners went back and put these stipulations in there after the fact that what are we complaining about, Ojo? What are we complaining about? Joe? Joe, this is your field. Tell me what we're complaining about. Because you got these thousand dollars, 1500, $2000 lawyers that can read better and can comprehend better than what you can tell me what was Added. So with this second apron, did this just come in this year or was it in the CBA that you negotiated?
Uncle Ocho
I'm gonna be honest with you, uncle Ocho, I have no damn idea. I don't. But this second April, I know it just started, you know what I mean? Because now you having to break these teams up. But I don't know, you know, when it came into a play, whether it's been two or three years, but I'm just seeing the effects of it.
Ari Chambers
Hold on.
Joe
I'm gonna tell you when it started, However, to see, say, NBA collective bargain agreement is set to expire the end of 2930 season. However, the league and the NBA Players association have an option to opt out of it agreement one year early by declaring their intentions to do so by 2028. Well, clearly they gonna opt out of it. Yeah, clearly they about to opt out of it.
Uncle Ocho
Yeah, but it was put in place to stop. To stop them damn super teams.
Joe
Yes.
Uncle Ocho
Yeah. So.
Joe
But I think the thing is, Joe, and I get it, I get it, but the problem that you run into is that when I draft well and my players perform well, you also prevent me from being able to keep them.
Uncle Ocho
Yeah, that's what I'm saying. That's what I'm saying. Like, I don't think a team should be penalized for that. If you draft well and your teams do well, or your players over exceed expectations, man, you shouldn't be punished because you can't pay all of them. You know what I mean? Like, there has to be some type of stipulations in there to where, hell, if I draft you, you know, we should be able to some way somehow keep you. And it don't really kill our salary cap like that.
Lele Pons
That.
Joe
The current agreement was ratified by the NBA PA membership in April of 2023. It took effect July 1, 2023. So Joe. O. Joe, they signed off on this. Yeah, they signed off on this.
Joe Harris
And what? This, this bargain agreement, what, 10 years, right?
Joe
No, basically it's from 23, July of 23.
Uncle Ocho
It was.
Joe
Was a ratify. It was certified ratified in July of 2023. So. And it goes until 2030. But you can opt out. If you cannot, you can say, okay, I want to opt out. And so you opt out a year before the ends. And so in 28, it could be the final year of it. So in other words, everything that's in this contract, Joe, was in there in 23 when they signed it.
Uncle Ocho
Yeah, yeah.
Joe
But you see what happens, Joe, you looking at it like If I get my max money, I don't care where I get it from, as long as I get my max money. Whether I get it from okc, whether I get it from Golden State, whether I get it from the Knicks. As long as I get 250, as long as I get 350, I don't care who give it to me. Until you get on a team to have success, you're like, hold on, wait a minute. We're not gonna be able to stay
Uncle Ocho
together because there's no middle ground. There's no in between. It's either, either your either you getting the max contract or hell, you almost getting peanuts. You feel me? And that's kind of how it is. So. Hey, man, they put them figures in front of them boys. Ain't no telling, man.
Joe
I don't know, Ocho. We know firsthand. Because guys, because guys like everybody. It's the players, Joe. Cause you know there's only a certain amount of people that's gonna make the supermax. Yeah. Just like Ocho. And I know there's only a certain amount of people that's gonna get the 100 million to 200 million dollar contracts in the NFL. Yeah, it's those guys that there, there are more guys that's gonna, that's not gonna make that. The guys that are. Yeah, and those guys that are not. Those are the one that they like, man. Hey bro, you made, you already got 200 million in the bank. Yeah, I'm year to year, bro. I'm signing, I'm playing.
Uncle Ocho
Yeah, that's how it works and that's how it's been, bro.
Joe
So you got to basically say, look here. Oo, I understand, bro, but I don't need to a. Tell the wife no expensive gifts. Don't get no second home. Don't do X, Y and Z, a K. I don't really try to tell you how to do it, but you can't have no baby mamas. Cause we about to have to shut this thing down for a year or two.
Uncle Ocho
That's the last thing you want or
Joe
in order to get what we want.
Uncle Ocho
Oh yes.
Joe Harris
It's hard to get everybody on the same page.
Joe
It absolutely is.
Joe Harris
Especially with NFL players.
Joe
Because hey, I got a flaws. You know, I'm going, I got me about 4, 5. Got me a, you know, I got me a, a G wagon. I got me a cullinan, got me two plouses. I got my mom 15, 20,000 square feet. No, get mom something that she could. Get mom something that she can clean Herself.
Uncle Ocho
Yeah.
Joe
Get my 3,000 square feet. You're good.
Joe Harris
20,000.
Joe
3,000. How you gonna get a mom house bigger than yours? Because you gotta realize, Ocho, a lot of times, you get mom these big houses, you got to pay to keep it up.
Uncle Ocho
Hello.
Joe
You gotta pay somebody to cut the grass. You gotta pay somebody to come in there and clean. Give mom something they can clean. Hey, my sister can clean this right here. Pick up after yourself. It ain't nobody but two of y'. All. You and Granny.
Uncle Ocho
Thanks. Hey, with you on that one.
Joe
But hopefully, like, they. They come to some type of resolution guys where they can figure this thing out. And. And because I agree, Joe, this burden should not be placed on the players. The players should not have to have the financial responsibility to say, we want to keep a team together. So what is the. What does the team do? Just sit back?
Uncle Ocho
I think. I think the teams. I think they kind of knew all along this was gonna happen. Yeah, you was gonna run into this problem. Look, they want all this money up front. They want these max dollars, but, hell, at some point, these. Some of these max players gonna have to start taking haircuts if they want to continue to play on great teams. These owners knew that. Okay, Ocho, but guess what.
Joe
But guess what the owners never do. They all. But they never give these TVs. They never give these. The partners, they don't give them a discount. And guess they don't give these sponsors and advertisers discount, because guess what the super bowl ad gonna be this year? Eight million. 32nd spot, Joe. And they got 240 of them.
Uncle Ocho
Damn. Oh, yeah. Damn. But they billionaires. They ain't giving no damn. They ain't cut that.
Joe
That's my point. That's what Ocho and I, we were talking about it from the very beginning. How have billionaires convinced normal fans to turn on the millionaires, which are the players inside with them?
Uncle Ocho
They Sharks, man.
Joe
They smart because they put it out there. You don't care about winning. You selfish. And then you take some of your best players when you get. Cause first of all, once Tom Brady did it and they won, the expectation is, you see what Tom did, and fans start to believe. Well, if you like Tom Brady. Tom Brady was making more off the field than he was on the field. Tom Brady wife at the time was doing 30 million a year. Hell, if my wife did 30 million a year, and I'm doing 15, 20 a year. Damn right. I give you a $5 million haircut, but my wife ain't making that, as a matter of fact, she costing me money. You know, your wife making money. If you marry somebody and they make you sign a prenup.
Uncle Ocho
Oh, man. Oh, yeah. That mean. That mean you probably married into something
Joe
I met. It's reported that Travis signed a prenup with Taylor. She worked to a. Allegedly, she's worth 2 billion. When you making millions, you make 20 million a year. Plus off the field, probably another 5, 10. So you make 30 million a year. And your wife said, here, slide you this piece of paper and you have your lawyer read it over what that telling you? They ain't very many situations like that they've ready to meet a situation like that.
Uncle Ocho
It ain't.
Chelsea Handler
Hey, hey.
Uncle Ocho
You gonna feel away, though?
Joe
Hell, no, I ain't feeling no way. Because I told people I used to. I tell my homeboys all the time, they tell my shop, I ain't got no money like you, man. I ain't got nothing. I said, good. That way you leave with your nothing. All of your nothing. I don't want you to leave with 50 of your nothing.
Joe Harris
Hey, the funny thing about it, I. I don't know the percentage. I don't know the stat chat. You probably.
Lele Pons
You.
Joe Harris
You guys could probably find it faster than I can. You think about the wealthiest women in the world, right? Wealthiest women in the world, and what percentage of that wealth come from divorce,
Joe
a large order or inherited?
Joe Harris
Yeah, yeah. I'm saying outside of inheritance, if you
Joe
look at large, yeah, for sure, most
Joe Harris
of it has come from divorce.
Joe
So hopefully they can figure this thing out. Players figure it out. It's a lot of money to be made now. Cause if somebody pay. If somebody pay you 300 million, how much are you actually making them? Because they ain't turning. They ain't turning a loss now.
Joe Harris
They never turn a loss.
Joe
So if they. If they willing to pay you 300 million, Joe, you bringing them half a bill, you don't even know it. Especially if you got one of these guys from overseas. You got a Wimby or you got a Luca. Why you think they're trying to get NFL teams over there? Ocho, they're trying to get two teams over there because they. You. You just saw what they went for, right? So now a new team coming into the NFL. You can't come in less than 10, Bill.
Uncle Ocho
Hold on. They trying to get it over where, huh?
Joe
Overseas. They try to get two NFL teams overseas. Damn, that's a long flight. No, see, if they got two teams overseas, you go over there and you stay the. You Stay up. You play. You play both teams. You stay for two weeks, come back.
Joe Harris
Ah, okay, okay, okay. But at some point, the team's gonna
Joe
have to come here now for sure. And then they'll stay two weeks, three weeks, and then they'll go back over there and stay two, three weeks.
Joe Harris
I like. I like that. I like that idea. That ain't bad.
Joe
But for. But for 20 billion, what you think the owner's thinking? And they chop that up 30 ways,
Uncle Ocho
you say, how many billions?
Joe
10 billion. You ain't gonna. Because you're not gonna be able to get one for less than 10.
Uncle Ocho
Yeah. Oh, yeah.
Joe
The Cincinnati Bengals value just increased. I think the Cincinnati. I think y' all owed your ass, and I ain't taking no shot at you. I think you guys are the least valuable team. But least valuable. Least valuable now is 5 billion.
Joe Harris
Okay, okay. We rich.
Joe
5 billion. John Morant spoke for. John Morant spoke for the first time about the perceived bad boy image since being traded to Portland. Let's take a listen to what John had to say.
Uncle Ocho
I mean, obviously, I've.
Joe
I've done, you know, what I've done in the past, but it's been addressed and handled already, so I don't see why, you know, years later, that's still the topic when nothing happened since, you know, And I feel like if I was that guy, y' all wouldn't be talking to me now.
Uncle Ocho
I wouldn't be here. So you did build up a big fan.
Joe Harris
I like.
Joe
I agree. What he said. Like, look, bro, give me. Give me a chance. What I did there, I did there. Now I'm here. This is a new slate. I'm with a new team. If I. If I run a file, you have the right to bring that up now. Again, we don't got it out the way now, Ocho. Joe, we addressed it.
Joe Harris
Yeah.
Joe
I don't need. Every time that we have a conversation, you talk about what I did in Memphis two years, three years ago.
Uncle Ocho
Hey, hey, hey. But we know. We know it's gonna follow him. Uncle Ocho. I know he don't want to hear. I know he want to move on. I know he want to start over, have a new slate, but, hey, man, some of the images that's left in people's head, bro, they. They want to know your thought process, what you were thinking at the time. What he has to do is just stay focused, bro, and keep grinding.
Joe
Yep.
Uncle Ocho
And that's it. Head down. Keep chopping wood, partner.
Joe Harris
But. But along with that, too. Uncle Joe, obviously. Chat. Yeah. Y' all listening to me, too? We have to understand what makes Ja Moron special. You know, what makes him as exciting in the polarizing player that he was in Memphis. Not the off the court stuff. I'm talking about him on the court still remaining. Allowing him to be himself without losing his edge. You could tape it back a little bit, but don't take away what makes him special. There's a certain it factor that he has, and there's a certain presence and aura that he brings and energy, you know, to a team, and we saw that with Memphis. So we don't want to take it
Joe
all away from him. We just don't want. How about this here, Ocho? Just keep the guns off social media and keep the guns out of building where you shouldn't have them. That's all we asking.
Joe Harris
Hold on, I got one more.
Joe
Okay, can we.
Joe Harris
Can he throw the grenade?
Joe
Let the grenade go. Let the grenade go.
Uncle Ocho
Hey, listen, I like all the antics because, you know, for one, it lets me know he's enjoying the game and having fun, and it seems like he's lost his joy for the game. Uncle Ocho. And I could be wrong, but just by listening to him talk, like, I want to see him get back enthused about playing the game. I want to see. I want to get back. I want to see him get back to being that kid that we enjoy watching, bro, who was box office star studded every night, you know, putting on the show. That's what we want to see, man. Like, the, you know, body language don't lie. You know what I'm saying? So when I. When I see you out there training, working out, playing, like, I want to see that enthusiasm coming from him, bro. Like, I just feel like the past couple years, because he's. He's dealt with so many injuries and so many setbacks, you know, that. That this took the love and joy and passion away from him. Even the times he. He has played Uncle Ocho, hell, he just been, you know, just kind of out there. I want to see him get back to having fun, man.
Joe Harris
And you know what? Also, you know, not only a change of scenery, it can be a good thing for you, but could also be a wake up call.
Joe
Absolutely woke him up. They moved it. He was their franchise player.
Joe Harris
I was just gonna say that. You the franchise player. You the face of Memphis over there, and they had the nerve to move
Joe
me, and they didn't get a whole lot for you. That lets. That lets, you know, Joe, now the next move, you know, it's gonna be because they got little or nothing for an all NBA player. An all star player that's 25, 26 years of age. They basically had to give him away.
Uncle Ocho
Yeah, yeah, yeah. That ain't normal, bro. So. Hey, hey, hey. He another guy. You know, we talk about jb. Who gonna be motivated. I'm looking forward to ja. You know, being motivated as well, bro. Getting back to. Getting back to enjoying the game, man. I gotta see it, bro. He got too much.
Joe
Phenomenal, man.
Uncle Ocho
Too much talent. Uncle Ocho, I gotta see it.
Joe
But I'm Guys moved to a new start for me. I know it's back there, but. Okay, change of scenery now he go here cut up now. You. You just lost me.
Uncle Ocho
No, I think.
Joe
But I'm willing to give a man the benefit of the doubt that he's at a new. He's at a new scenery.
Ari Chambers
He.
Joe
He has a change of scenery. I believe he. Hopefully he's learned his lesson and he gonna. Hey, he's gonna be a model citizen. Like I said, just keep the guns off social media. Don't take them where you're not supposed to have them. You'll be fine. I don't know what. I don't know what made the man put a firearm on social media, Joe. I still don't understand.
Uncle Ocho
Hey, just.
Joe
You know. But you don't be thinking, Joe. You don't.
Uncle Ocho
Yeah, I mean, you get so caught in the moment, bro, from the times that.
Joe
That. That.
Uncle Ocho
That it did happen to him when he was in the little strip joint and riding with his partner, like, you get so caught up in the moment, bro. You. I don't know, man. I ain't. I. I don't know, Joe. I ain't never.
Joe
Joe, we. We flew. Look, we. I ain't never thought about taking. Us Taking up. Taking that tool with me on the road.
Uncle Ocho
I ain't either, okay? I ain't gonna lie. And it used to be a lot easier back in the day. Boy, you could you get that thing on there. I'm talking about what nobody know. Nothing.
Joe
Nothing. Cause we pulled right up, got off a. Have to go through no metal detector. They just walk right Rock your ass right up on the step to the plane.
Uncle Ocho
Nothing. Nothing, bro. I'm talking about.
Joe
Oh, and I definitely. I definitely ain't took no Barney Port used to tell us all the time since the son, if you got to take a weapon somewhere with you, you don't need to go there.
Uncle Ocho
Right? Right.
Joe
You don't need to go there.
Uncle Ocho
He learned his lesson, man. He learned his lesson?
Joe
I believe so.
Uncle Ocho
Yeah.
Joe
I believe so.
Uncle Ocho
It could be. Because behind all that hell, he lost a lot of elms, boy. Even though. Even though. Even though he still has one of the hottest shoes out and the man ain't really played, it lets you know, bro, how. How iconic he is and what he means to the culture. Because these kids love him, bro.
Joe
They do.
Uncle Ocho
They love.
