The Wizards and Anthony Davis agent Rich Paul have decided to wait and talk for the potential extension until after the season starts. AD Becomes eligible today to sign an extension worth up to four years. $275 million. One source. This gives both sides the first 20 games to marinate on whether to pay AD or not. Joe, do you believe 20 games is enough to see if AD is worth 20? Two hundred and seventy five over four years?
Ocho
Hey, listen, it gives me a nice little sample size, and it keeps him firing the AD you know, you gotta show me something, Uncle Ocho. And in them 20 games, I don't need you taking no games off. I need you.
Joe
Cause you say you gonna play 82.
Ocho
Now, it's been reported now. He already said he gonna play 82 games. At this point, I'm just telling you what he said. That man said. He playing all 82. I want to see AD get back to dominating. Yeah, they'll break him off. He better be. He better be cutting cheese boy in the first 20 games. I know that boy. Hey, hey, hey, Ocho. That'll be all on my mind. Like the first 20 game. I gotta come in here and show out.
Joe
What you thinking, Ocho?
Uncle
I mean, listen, it's based on his injury history, based on what we've seen almost every single season. He's always been hurt, for sure. I ain't never knocking on nobody when it come to making any money, you know, four years, 275. He's earned that. He one of the best fours, best fives, one of the best stretches, you know, to ever play the game. And I'm just saying. I'm just thinking about. He's always hurt most of the time, but, you know, get your money, get your money, young Bull. I can't knock that.
Ocho
And Unc and Ocho, they just gave Trae Young, like, 212, something similar to that, you know what I mean? Like the Wizards. That's going to be a lot of money for a team who wasn't in the damn playoffs last year, you know what I mean? So jump out the gate, you know, show. Show some promise, you know, help this young AJ the bounce out. Hopefully that all blends and meshes well together. Yeah, man, they. Hey,
Joe
Zion. Oh, Joe Dumars told Zion Williamson to be great at basketball. You have to be obsessed with it. Perfect. Where we. Ocho? Where have they heard that word? Obsessed and about to be great at something. Ain't that what we talk about all the time?
Uncle
Yeah, it's the only way to be great at something.
Joe
But. But why they. Why, but why won't they give us credit when we say how many times we done said this, Ocho?
Uncle
Yeah, over and over. You got to be obsessed with it.
Joe
But okay, you can't casually become great in the league. What I've seen from him this summer is he's obsessed with the work he's putting in. And this is really encouraging for me that he's putting in this type of work.
Ocho
That's all we've been saying. Hey, hey.
Uncle
I got a question for you and Joe.
Ocho
Yes, what's that?
Uncle
This work he putting in, is this a contract year?
Ocho
I don't. Is it really on
Joe
Ash? I think he's eligible to sign an extension this summer.
Ocho
Oh, yeah? You mean next summer?
B. Scott
When?
Ocho
Next summer he'll come?
Joe
Yes. He's trying to get there.
Ocho
He's trying to get that 300 done.
Joe
All NBA will do it for you.
Uncle
You see what I mean?
Ocho
Yeah.
Uncle
You see what it'll take to get you to be obsessed? Oh, it's time to get paid. Okay, now I'm a lock in a
Joe
commitment, a singular focus.
Ocho
But. But, hey, hey, but if you do get that prize, you still gotta stay locked in, man. You can't exhale. That's all we've been talking about was. I am, man, if he put the work in. Cause I'm telling y', all, man, when that man plays Ocho, he gonna give you at least 26.
Uncle
Yeah, every time.
Ocho
And that's a guy who ain't even really in tip top shape. Now for that picture that we seen a couple weeks ago, man, if that man look anything like that coming into the season, he's able to sustain that. He gonna be unstoppable, bro. I'm telling you. Unstoppable.
Joe
He's eligible. Oh, Joe. Joe. He was eligible this off season, but there've been no movement.
Ocho
You wouldn't do. Why would you?
Joe
They say, we see. Hey. They say, holla at us next year, bro.
Ocho
Why would you. You ain't show. You ain't showed me that you was worthy of that, so. Okay, come on here and show me something this season.
Joe
Yeah, boy. We're back to Brinks Truck Up.
Uncle
Now. You gotta prove himself.
Ocho
Yeah, he gonna do that, bro.
Joe
And the little bit of greatness that I had, I know what I did. I can imagine what A Tiger Woods, a Michael Jordan, a Serena Williams, a LeBron James, a Tom Brady, a Peyton Manning. I can just imagine. I can just imagine. A Denzel Washington, a Tom Hanks, a Samuel L. Jackson, a Viola Davis, a Meryl Streep. I can just imagine. There's an obsession. You're obsessed with this. It's hard when you have name something that you achieve that you want less of. When you achieve great. It's like, nah, I'm gonna have enough. I don't want that no more. I'm cool with that. That does. And it's so monotonous. It's so boring to be great. Cause guess what? I'm doing the same. Joe Johnson, taking his ass in the gym and shooting a thousand damn shots every single day. And no matter how he does it, I don't care if he gets somebody throwing the ball, I don't care if he go chasing his damn self. He's still shooting a thousand boring ass shots. And Serena hitting that ball, forehand, backhand, forehand, backhand, slice, add court four, all that.
Ocho
Hey, until you develop a routine, bro. Yeah, I'm talking about and stick to it. I ain't talking about do it on the days that you feel like it. I'm talking about on them damn days you don't feel like it. That's what you get walking, Ocho. I've been telling my son, man, since he was 8, 9 years old, hey, bro, you gotta develop a routine. Gotta have a routine. You gotta have something that you do on a day to day basis, regardless of how the hell you feel, you gotta get it done, bro. And if that's that, getting up shots, working on your handle, you trying to become a better player. Cause there's too many guys out here who hungry, bro.
Joe
Yeah. When you realize that you're not the only one that have this dream, that's what you gotta realize. I don't care what your dream is. Somebody else got that same dream, man. Ocho, I could have been a little kid in dream like, man, I want to fly the damn space shuttle. There are five other people that would got that same damn dream. Want to fly the space shuttle, man. Stop dreaming my dream, damn it. You weren't even thinking about no space shuttle until I started dreaming about it. Basketball, baseball, whatever the case may be. CEO, entrepreneur. Oh, somebody. What are you doing? Because the only thing, the only thing that come to sleepers are dreams. You got to get up and make it work.
Uncle
And that's the problem. That's the difference though. Not too many people Willing to put in the work to make those dreams come true. A very small percentage, and that small percentage is known as the 1%.
Ocho
Because everybody want to dream, but they don't want to put their heart. They don't want to put that grind in.
Joe
The Bible teaches, go ahead if you want.
Ocho
If you want the game to come easy. I don't care what sport you playing. Hey, man, your. Your workout regimen, it's got to be harder than damn games.
B. Scott
Yeah.
Joe
Bible tell us you can't enter the kingdom of heaven unless you die. Everybody wants to go to heaven. Don't nobody want to die. Everybody want to be successful. Everybody want to be wealthy. Ain't nobody trying to do no damn work. That's why the lottery. What does the lottery require? Go in there, drop $2, drop $3, drop $5 down. Boom. That's it. What if I told you if you work really, really hard, what if I told you you work really, really hard? You could be have 200 million, you could have 300 million. Man, I ain't really trying to work. Do you know how many times people have told me, I ain't trying to work that hard? I ain't trying to eat like that, okay? I mean, you. You see, when I was talking to one of my teammates, TD said, man, I was looking around. I see it, okay? That's what greatness look like. Then I found out what to do. I ain't really trying to be that great. It ain't that complicated. They right. I had my stuff stacked. I had my little chicken breasts, I had rice, I had green beans, I had broccoli. That's all I had. And I had water. That's it. Don't come over my house thinking you gonna eat. You gonna eat tater chips and cookies and oatmeal, oatmeal pies. And you're not. You're not. You're getting water. You man, this food bland, okay? It works for me, man. I think I picture myself, man, this. This steak, this ribeye, man, these Rios. That's why I pictured in my mind I wasn't going back to Glenville. That was not an option for me. Zion, boy, you got so much ability. You got so much God given ability. But I love what. You know what I love? I love when athletes that have won, that have accomplished or been great, transcendent, historically great. Joe Dumars is a hall of famer. Joe Dumars is a finals mvp. Knows what it takes to get there. I think he went to Magnese State. I think that's where Joe went.
Ocho
I don't even know.
Joe
But it ain't that complicated. You go to. If you play a professional sports and you go to the restaurant, Ocho and Joe, there are two things on the menu. Wins and losses. That's all I serve it. Oh, club shakes at my restaurant. That's all I serve, Joe. Hotel. The fresh dubs. You get a hotel or you get a fresh dub. Well, that's all I got for you. That's it. Bill Simmons thinks Kevin Durant goes into the hall of Fame. He'll be wearing a supersonics jersey.
Ocho
And why he think that?
Joe
I think he'd do the supersonics. That's the move. Yeah. It's like he loves Seattle. I would have loved playing there. But the honor of the Sonics. I'm going to be a Sonic. What you thinking, Joe?
Ocho
Do you think because of all the success that OKC has had
Joe
since he
Ocho
left, do you think this plays a role in that?
Joe
Probably. I mean he had, I mean he did go to three championships with the Heat. I mean, excuse me, with the Warriors. He won two there. He didn't have the level of success, a team success. He would enjoy success as an individual in, in Brooklyn. Didn't have this level of success, individual success. He would went to the All Star Game. He's all NBA selection at the, at the Superstar, at the. At the Sons. And now he's in Houston. Yeah, I think, I think okc. I think OKC or the Supersonic.
Ocho
I think.
Joe
I don't, I don't see him going in as a Warrior, right.
Ocho
No, no. Yeah, yeah. No, he ain't gonna go in as a Warrior, but I think, you know, him being the number two pick. The number two pick that year behind Greg Oden.
Joe
Yeah.
Ocho
And Seattle really giving him an opportunity and really, really, really trusted him with the franchise. I think he really, you know, he has a special place in his heart for him.
Joe
I can see that, Joe. I can definitely see that.
Ocho
But damn, to go in, to go to. Dang it.
Joe
Like they got a whole lot of, a lot of superstars. I mean, you know, hall of Fame
Ocho
outside of Gary Payton, Sean Kemp, gp.
Joe
Yeah, gp. But GP went in the hall of Fame. He is. As a Supersonic. But what you call him, Rain man didn't go in the Hall. Did is. Is Gus Williams is the wizard in the hall. I don't know Dennis Johnson, but most people probably remember D.J. from the Celtics. Wally Walker, Jack Sigma, Marvin Webster.
Ocho
Hold on.
Joe
But downtown, Freddie Brown.
Ocho
Are they supposed to be bringing that Seattle? They supposed to be bringing the team back to Seattle?
Joe
Mm.
Ocho
Mm.
Joe
Yes. On August 21st. What's your plan? I want vengeance. No one does action movies. You got a problem on the ship like Jason Statham? Well, you'll need all the help you can get.
Ocho
Mutiny.

Hey, I'm Nora Jones, and I love playing music with people so much that my podcast called Playing along is back. I sit down with musicians from all musical styles to play songs together in an intimate setting. Every episode's a little different, but it all involves music and conversation with some of my favorite musicians. Over the past two seasons, I've had special guests like Dave Grohl, Leve, Mavis Staples, Remy Wolf, Jeff Tweedy. Really too many to name. And this season, I've sat down with Joshua Hame, Sarah McLachlan, John Legend, and more. Check out my new episode with Finneas.

I learned about some rad science.

I can make a brain for you. And then we can test what drug

is the best for your brain as opposed to his brain.
Ocho
Here are some hard truths.
Joe
I would expect Indians to age faster, but I did not expect it to be almost a four to five year acceleration and get myself into a world of trouble. I'd say probably start bone smashing.
Uncle
That doesn't work.
Joe
Make it look more defined. They say it works. I don't know. Listen to Skyline Drive, how to live

Ocho
What happened, man?
Joe
Y' all have to let you after this one first. Scott on LeBron James being considered to go. He says great players don't join multiple teams. Most of us judge lebron based on guys that just mentioned. I'll throw one more guy in there. Kareem Abdul Jabbar. He got traded from Milwaukee to la, right? So two teams his whole career, mj. Two teams basically, you know, in the whole career. So when you're judging LeBron, you're looking at a guy of the greatest players of all time. And they, and what they did at those organizations, they basically never left.
Ocho
Come on, man. Hey, listen, I don't know why they go at Bron so much. Maybe it's because he did lead the Lakers. Considering the fact that he could have went back there, he could have went back to la, Uncle Ocho, but come on, man. I don't know why he gets the scrutiny that he gets, you know, it's okay, man. He ain't gotta.
Joe
Well, because right now they got a podcast and you beat him up right now, you gonna get clicks and likes, you gonna get mentioned. Now, he said the fact of the matter is, in multiple teams, multiple teams mean more than one. Back then, guys, it's kind of like in the NFL. Guys couldn't move like they can now. Ocho, guys didn't. Couldn't move like they moved in basketball. So I guess Shaq couldn't be considered a great player. KD can't be considered a great player. LeBron, Charles Barkley, Karl Malone, Moses Hakeem Olajuwon, Patrick Lew. Come on, what are we doing, man? What are we doing? I don't care if he went to 20 teams. How good was he on those teams? Every team he played for, they won a championship. Every team that he played for, he was an all NBA selection. How many guys can say, you know what? I've been on four different teams and I've been an all NBA selection on all of them.
Ocho
Probably.
Joe
No, every team that I've played for, I've gone to an NBA Finals. Three of those four teams that I've been on, I've won an NBA Finals. I've won a Finals mvp. Yeah, it would be great. You all. People always talk about players not being loyal, but hold on. And you said something very interesting. And I love B. Scott and B. Scott know this because I used to work. We used to work out in the same gym when I was in la. And I see it. And we always mess up. We end up talking for an hour and mess up our workout because we talking basketball, we talking football. But the fact of the matter is Milwaukee traded Kareem. Where was the loyalty? Where was the loyalty? The Lakers trading Shack. Where was the loyalty? Orlando trading Shack. Where was the loyalty? We expect loyalty from the players, but we don't demand loyalty from the organization. The organization says I'm going to do. We're doing what's in the best interest of the organization. A player does what's in the best interest. Oh, he running from time. He running. He chasing rings. What are the teams chasing? Why did my. Why did Miami. Why did Miami trade for Giannis? You don't think they're chasing rings?
Ocho
Yeah. Yeah.
Joe
Why did 76ers trade, trade for Jaylen Brown, you don't think they're chasing rings? What we doing here? If you in a sport, aren't you trying to. Aren't you trying to win said championship of your sport? I would like to think so. Now, maybe everybody's not under that same. Everybody ain't trying to win. Everybody. Just because you're gonna make X amount of dollars whether you win or lose. Okay, I get all that, but I just don't get this. So now the man can't be. It would be great if guys could stay like the old Celtics, you know, Although for the most part, those guys stayed there and Elgin Baylor stayed there and Jerry west stayed there and Gail. But it's not like that anymore, guys. Y' all know that. B. Scott, you know, in today's game, football ain't the same. Guys move. Baseball ain't the same. Baseball always would trade their guys. That mean, hell, they traded Babe Russo ain't nothing. You know, Frank Robinson. Frank Robinson got traded. Hell, he was an MVP in the league. And trading went and got another mvp. He and Shohei, the only two that ever did that. But we. I just don't get this. I just don't get it. I don't get it. Ocho.
B. Scott
What?
Joe
Chime in. Ocho, what you think?
Uncle
I mean, listen. They always gonna find something wrong because of the person it is. We've never seen anything happen like this before. We've never seen anything done like this before. Because he's a king, because he sits atop that mountain, everyone's going to take shots at him. The fact that he's still doing it today at 42 years old, going into his 24 season, I just don't understand. Obviously, I don't know the ins and outs of basketball and have a great knowledge of it, but the way you two do. But I do understand how great LeBron is. And because he's been great for so long and been consistent at what he does for so long, they gonna find every little way to nitpick at the way he's won, man.
Joe
Can I ask you a question, guys? Let's just say for the sake of argument, Kobe had went to the. When Kobe asked for a trade, he goes to Chicago and win a championship. And then all of a sudden, after several years, he goes to another team and wins another championship. As he looked, how's he viewed.
Ocho
He's still gonna be great.
Uncle
Yeah,
Joe
I've never seen anything like this, man. Nobody. If the man got into a scandal, they want LeBron to be into a scandal so bad. That's what it is they want because he. You can't be this perfect. Ain't no way you ain't got no speeding ticket. Ain't nobody ever seen you. Ain't no salacious details. We ain't seen nothing. You too perfect, and we don't like it.
Ocho
They gotta find a way to knock you down.
Joe
Got to. Everybody is waiting. Not here. I shouldn't say everybody, but a lot of people are waiting. I told you. I knew it.
Ocho
Hey, but it's good, though. It's good. It's good for LeBron. You know, all he needs, a little something to keep get him going. Uncle Ocho, you know, some people.
Joe
Some people got a. Some people. My mom worked at a job. She worked at Nabisco for 34 years. My stepdad worked there for 36 years. How many people work at the same job ever? How many times you think people change jobs in their life? He didn't change jobs. He just changed teams. Wonder how we look at it. Y' all sound ridiculous. He's supposed to do what y' all want him to do. If Cleveland. If Cleveland was a better city and they could have. Look, I get it. I really do. If Cleveland had a general manager like a Bob Myers, if they had a guy like a Jerry west, if they had a general manager like Jerry Krause, that could draft talent, could bring talent in, could draft and then could trade and get the right pieces, I don't think LeBron leaves Cleveland. He knew he couldn't win there. And we all. Y' all already said this man would have had all those points and no check and no rings. Y' all would've killed him even more. Now he got rings. Now he 4 and 6. He went to the finals 10 times. He went 10 times. Michael. 6 and O. Well, damn, he played 15 years. What have happened the other nine years?
Ocho
Hey, if Bron didn't get out of Cleveland. Uncle Ocho.
Uncle
Yeah.
Ocho
Ain't no way in hell he beat that Celtics team. Not. Not with kg.
B. Scott
No.
Ocho
Paul Pierce and Ray Allen. He had to get out of there, man.
Joe
But. But don't nobody. But hold on. Oh, Joe. Did anybody beat up Kevin Garnett? The reality. For going to join?
Ocho
Yeah, they said they should have left earlier here. Yeah,
Joe
a lot of people that beat him up. Even my guy Chuck. Chuck. Why did Chuck leave Philly? Because he said he couldn't win a championship in Philly. So he went and joined and he tried to make it seem like Marlin. Them weren't good. Dan Marley was a damn good defender. Was it all NBA? Kevin Johnson. Hey, as a matter of fact, Kevin Johnson. Didn't Kevin Johnson have the. The NBA Finals when he took. He almost had him in the NBA Finals. He used to beat him. Yeah, yeah, they were a good team. Tom Chambers was a damn good player. Let's not make it seem like that. Got spot, Scotty got Scotty Pippen talking about he better than LeBron James because he got six rings. But you was never the best player, Scotty. You messed up. You had an opportunity to do something special, but when you wouldn't take your ass back in that game and Tony Cucu hit that shot and won the ball game, ain't nobody looked at you the same since everybody saw on national TV you actually quit on your team. You're a phenomenal player. You're a top 75. You a top 50 player. You're not better than LeBron. You won't find one general manager you won't find, other than you and maybe Dennis Rodman, that will say you're better than LeBron James. The only two players that will say you are better than LeBron James are yourself and Dennis Rodman. Ask the other 50, all 50 NBA players if they think you better than LeBron. At what? Defense. You're not a better scorer. You're not a better rebounder. You're not a better facility, a facilitator. You don't shoot the ball better than he did. You couldn't drive the ball better than he could. So I'm trying to figure out, other than play defense, what could you do better? I gotta stop this man. Come on, now. The man ain't perfect. The man is not perfect. And I'm not gonna sit here and tell nobody LeBron James is perfect. He's not. He's made some missteps, but this is getting outrageous here. This man said would ask who's great. I have six rings. Do you want individual accolades or championships? I want them both.
Ocho
Damn.
Joe
When people ask me, Joe, people ask me all the time, would you rather win the super bowl or the hall of Fame? I said, I'm glad I ain't got to make that choice. Hell, I take my jacket off and throw the rings on top of it. But they gotta stop this man. But see that ring culture again. He got six rings and LeBron has four. He actually thinks he's better. So under that scenario, the greatest basketball player of all time is who, Ocho? Bill Russell. He has 11. How many times have you ever heard somebody say, bill Russell is the greatest basketball player ever Joe, you ain't really heard it. He got 11 rings. He has. I mean, Sam, I think Sam Jones. I think Sam has 10, Havlicek has 8. Havoc is 8. No, nobody ain't said have a check. The best player, they don't even mention have a check. When they mention small forwards, don't nobody mention John Havlicek. Duty. They talk about Larry Bird. They talk about Kevin Durant. They talk about LeBron James, Dominique Wilkins, Elgin Baylor. They talk about when last time you heard somebody mention John Havichek. He ain't no damn. And he got some finals MVPs on top. Yeah, Ocho.
Ocho
Yeah.
Joe
Yeah. They need to stop, man. This. This is getting.
Ocho
It ain't gonna stop, though. It's gonna. It's gonna continue as long as he's playing Uncle Ocho. Yeah, he gonna always catch criticism regardless.
Joe
But who is he hurting, though? Damn.
Uncle
Oh, they dial up. Hey, why don't. Hey, until he get right. Why don't they mention those other. Why don't they mention, you know, the best. The best ever with those that won the most rings, since they always want to use rings as they reasoning, man, Bill Russell.
Ocho
Because it's because MJ came in and made the game sexy. Ocho, you know, he. He ain't got the most championships. Oh, yeah. He ain't got the most championships. Yeah, but when you talking about, like, defying gravity and. And changing the way that we view NBA basketball.
Uncle
Yes, sir.
Ocho
Jordan led that charge, bro. Him. Dr. J was before him. And then Jordan came. Yeah, he changed it.
B. Scott
He.
Ocho
He changed it. And the game has been. It's been in great hands ever since, bro. He took it to a whole nother level.
Joe
But even when they. Even when Michael Jordan had no rings and Magic and Bird had all the rings, they said he was the goat. So they were saying that, and he had no rings. Magic had five before he won any. Bird had three before he won any. And they said Michael was a better player. All Those Celtics had 11, 10, nine. Sam Jones, Casey Jones, Tom Heinson, Mr. Russell, John Havlicek. All those guys. Bob Cousy. Bob cousy got like 7, 8 rays.
Ocho
Nah, Celtics rich in history when it comes to winning, Ocho.
Uncle
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Joe
Them and the Lakers, they used to never lose no damn championship. How you think they beat? As a matter of fact, they won like eight championships in a row. Yeah, we lost to the St. Louis Hawks and then wiped the table with everybody else.
Ocho
From then on, we ain't gonna see that ever again. No.
Joe
No teams Teams running the table like that?
Ocho
Hell no.
Uncle
Eight straight. Eight straight.
Joe
You might not Joe, you might not even see a. A repeat.
Ocho
Yeah, you're right.
Joe
Think about it. It's been a decade since you saw a repeat with this, with the, the. The Warriors. Yeah, it's been a decade.
Uncle
Before the warriors, it was the Lakers, huh?
Joe
Yes, man. No, the heat.
Uncle
Oh, that's right.
Joe
2012, 2012, 112, 13. Then the Lakers 9 10. And then the Lakers 3 peated. And then the Bulls 3 peated and then the Bulls 3 peated. And in between the 3 peat was the Rockets 2 peat, back to back. But I don't get this. USA Today released their top 10 coach. The top 10 coaches on the hot seat heading into 2026. Shane Steichen. Coach number one, Jess. Aaron Glenn. Number two, Buccaneers coach Todd Bowles. Number three, Zach Taylor. Four, Dan Quinn. Five. Nick Sirianni. Six. Matt LaFleur. Seven. Clint Kubiak. How Clint Kubiak on the hot seat. He just got there.
Ocho
Hold on.
Uncle
Well, Aaron Glenn just got there too.
Joe
He on the hot seat.
Ocho
Damn
Joe
man, you know the jokes don't man, the jets don't play Ocean.
Uncle
I understand that. And most of the time they give us those opportunities know damn well we know not going to be able to turn anything around. In order to turn them around, you need at least three to four years to do so. So hey, it is. It is what it is. And how the hell is Shane Steichen on the hot seat with the way they played last year?
Joe
Well, you remember they got up to that great start oo they was the number one seed in the AFC and
Uncle
then once got hurt. So you can't put the coach on
Joe
the hot seat when he was playing
Uncle
as well as you were.
Joe
Hey, that lady, she took over. The three daughters took over but one of them in charge. I forget her name, but she's like,
Uncle
hey, and Zach Taylor being on the hot seat, that don't make no sense. Cause one thing you do know about Mr. Brown, if there's a coach in the contract, he's gonna play the entirety of that contract out. He's not fighting.
Joe
Didn't he just sign an extension?
Uncle
Exactly. And he ain't firing nobody. So that one don't make no sense. There was somebody else. There's one more name you said that didn't make any sense to me. That just got Sirianni.
Joe
Todd Bowles, Dan Quinn, Nick Sirianni.
Uncle
Sirianni. Okay, Sirianni.
Joe
I can see Matt LaFleur for the Packers.
Uncle
Okay, I. I I can see. I can see that, too. Again, these are situations when you think about the packers team. As great as they are, the expectations are extremely high. The expectations are extremely high over there. And they're feeling. If they don't play well this season, which I'm sure they will do because offensively they're good. Defensively, they're sound, I think they might move in a different direction. I can see that happening. As great as the packers are. Excuse me. Not great. As good as the packers are. Let me see who else.
Ocho
I think.
Joe
Oh, they just. He just got the job. This is his first year. He already on the hot seat.
Uncle
Well, hell, Aaron Glenn just got there. How he on the hot seat already? Look what he got to work with. And bringing another coach in. Still not having. Still not having anything to work with is still gonna give you the same goddamn results.
Ocho
Yeah.
Joe
Gotta have some players and then Patriots. Mike Brable.
Uncle
All right, now they just putting anything on there. Now they just putting anything on there. You know good and well Mike Vrabel ain't on no hot seat, man.
Joe
The man just went to the damn
Uncle
super bowl at that point. What. What is.
Joe
Who is it?
Uncle
Who wrote this?
Joe
Who wrote this? What? USA Today.
Ocho
He may. Hey. United. All right.
Uncle
Hey. They just filling out names. It's about two or three on that. That actually makes sense.
Joe
Yes. And if they were gonna get rid of. For the trans. Even though that doesn't impact. I don't think. I don't think anything that transpired this offseason and we know what transpired this offseason. Does that impact his ability to coach this team? Because when I make a move, I'm looking at it. Okay. How does this impact. Did his said behavior? Does it impact this team?
Uncle
Absolutely not. I wish more people were inside these locker rooms to see how these players really don't give two. You know what?
Joe
I got nothing to do, man. I ain't studying what that man got going on. I got my own issues.
Ocho
Hello.
Joe
My baby mama dragging me. My baby mama dragging me back to court. Nobody. She want more money. You think I worry about what the hell he got going on?
Ocho
Hey, hey. Say that a little louder for the people in the back. For the people who probably.
Joe
Yeah, Joe, I'm for real, man. I ain't worried about what somebody else got going on. I got what they don't even know.
Uncle
Oh, man. Hey, you know what I wish? I don't know how to. Hey, what you want to dial up over there?
Ocho
Hey.
Uncle
Hey, Joe.
Joe
My co. Parents in front of me.
Ocho
Yeah, we can eat. We? Yeah.
Joe
Oh, that was me. I think that was me. Guys, this Internet here. We won't be back in this hotel no more. I promise you.
Uncle
Were you on dial up over there?
Joe
Hey, hey, hey.
Ocho
They got too many more times to mess up with you, huh? You done with them?
B. Scott
You?
Joe
Yeah, I'm done. I'm done. I was done with them this time. They booked this hotel without my knowledge. But it won't happen again.
Uncle
You good? You good?
Joe
Yeah. I promise you.
Uncle
You good?
Ocho
Yeah. But
Joe
whatever code you got going on, as long as it's not a medical emergency. It's not. It's not. As long as it does involve life and death. I got my own issues. Like I say, my co parent got me under the gun, man. Leave me alone. No, no, I ain't done with you yet. What? What you mean you ain't done with me yet? Come on, Come on, Joe. Girl, I ain't bother you. Oh, no. Oh. Oh.
Uncle
The funny thing about it is I
Joe
got something for you.
Ocho
It's a cold game, boy.
Uncle
Hey, if you were able to tap in to the lives of each individual player and the issues that they have going on, along with the so called scandal between coach and the reporter, they would put what they got going on to shame. Yeah, for sure they would put it to shame. I mean, people. People have no clue. Oh, man, it just. I'm not here to speak on that.
Joe
But you know what happened, Ocho. It just because it played out publicly. Damn.
Uncle
Damn. Oh, you might need a little hot spot over there, boy.
Joe
It is what it is.
Uncle
Hey, hey, hey, uncle, we ain't hear nothing you just said, boy.
Joe
I can hear y' all, though.
Uncle
Yeah, you can hear us now?
Joe
Oh, yeah.
Uncle
I thought Joe was froze for a minute. Joe wasn't moving.
Ocho
Nah, I'm locked in.
Joe
Ocho and Joe, there's a big news drop while we were off. LeBron is going to the city of brotherly love. He's teaming up with Jaylen Brown, Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxim. Let's listen to jb. He was on the stream, I think, tonight, talking about teaming up with LeBron. Let's take a listen to what he had to say. Super excited for this upcoming season. Yo, we got Bron and like, what an opportunity that that is. Like, obviously everybody's gonna say whatever they wanna say and it's gonna be a bunch of media this whole entire season. But like, for me, like, what an opportunity is to learn. Like, one of my favorite things to do is to learn despite what people may Say, I believe despite what people may feel about my favorite thing to do is to learn. I love learning. So like to have the opportunity to learn one from one of the, if not the greatest player of all time. You know, I get an opportunity to like on the court, off the court, learn and gather experiences that can accumulate to my own knowledge base. Ocho, for the longest time you've been telling, you've been telling the chat and Joe and I that he's going to Miami. Are you surprised that the pivot. Because a lot of people said, okay, Miami, it could be Cleveland going home for the final chapter. Dorothy said, in the wither paws, there's no place like home. There's no place like home. A lot of people now say, well, I don't really think. And you hear Draymond say, I don't think Golden State was an option because of Steph and the heated rivalry between the two. But he pivots and he goes to Philly.
Uncle
Yes.
Joe
What are your thoughts? Not going to Miami. And then are you surprised that he ended up in Philly? And what do we expect expect from them this year?
Uncle
Well, well, obviously I'm not surprised at all. Obviously. Me being a Florida native, a Miami native, a supporter of the Miami Heat, I always want was best for that team. LeBron being free, I've kind of guessed right. You know, for the most part, when it came to free agency with certain players, with Giannis coming here, and I thought, I Honestly, I thought LeBron was coming as well. I think one of the things that did hurt us is us not having shooters, not having anyone on the perimeter that can really shoot the ball. I think it's a good decision on LeBron's part, especially at 41, 42 years old, in his 23rd, 24th year in the league, in the NBA in general, this is a chance, an opportunity to go to a team where the supporting cast is extremely stellar, where he doesn't have to do that much. I think this is a team where he doesn't have to carry a load. He has Maxey, he had Jaylen Brown, he has Eskim, he has Embiid. So that is like to me, excuse my reference and analogy and using in football sense with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, they needed one piece to get over the hump. Coming off one season with Joe when they had Jameis Winston, it was his 33rd year, 30 touchdowns with a phenomenal defense, but he had 30 interceptions. I think that missing piece to the Philadelphia Sixes, trusting the piece, trusting the process piece that can get them to their end goal and is adding LeBron to that team. And this might be the year they do it and come out the East.
Joe
What you think, Joe?
Ocho
Man, listen. I've been telling y' all this since. Since we first heard the rumors when Ocho like, oh, no, you. And. And. And honestly. And honestly, this. The Sixers team wasn't the team that I thought he was going to. But, hey, man, make it make sense for me. When I hear JB come out and speak the way he speaks, saying that he's looking to learn. He kept saying the word learn, man. It says a lot. You know, JB's character has been somewhat assassinated. Assassinated. Has been assassinated because of analytics saying that he's not a great player, bro. And I think he fuels that. He's gonna fuel from that, and he's gonna use this season, bro, to help the Sixers try and win a title. I think LeBron kind of understood that. Having Maxey having Edgecombe, having JB having mb. Damn, man. I could just come out and orchestrate this thing. Ocho, you know, I ain't gotta do a whole hell of a lot. You know what I mean? So it make a lot of sense to me. Cause we always talk about in the NBA, in order to win. When you look at teams like the Knicks, hell, they beat you in a multitude of ways with a multitude of people. This is what LeBron is looking for. He's looking to go to Philly and, like, look, man, I ain't gotta be historically great every damn night for us to win a game. I got this Maserati over here. I got this Lambo over here. Hey, man, we gonna pull all these things out and have a party. You feel me? So I like it. And when those guys buy into whatever it is LeBron selling, bro, Sky's the limit for the Sixers, man. I like it.
Joe
I do, too. I'm happy for him. I'm surprised you said something very interesting, Joe, about the way the Knicks ended up winning the title. Because OG was. It was OG one night. It was Katt one night. It was Josh Hart one night. It was always a different guy. Now, the guy they could constantly count on was Jalen Brunson. Yes, sir. Because when it got clutch time, when they were down all those points and somebody else might have helped him get reattached, but that's when Levin took the. I think he's number 11. I think he ended up taking the ball game over. And so now you gotta. We know what Joel Embiid is. He's a former MVP. We know what JB. JB was 28 points with an all NBA selection. Tyrese Maxey. Back to back, if I'm not mistaken. Back to back years. An all star. Edgecombe is an up and coming player. They have the pieces now fitting around him. Kcp, I think he got a buyout. They're gonna have to be able to knock down three. Ocho, you mentioned Tom Brady and people like, well, why would he go to Tampa? He. They had two Pro bowl receivers. They had an outstanding defense. Oh, yeah, outstanding. Young homie, hungry, vicious. The same reason Peyton went to the Denver Broncos. Do y' all remember what they had up there?
Ocho
Yes, hello.
Joe
They had Demaryius Thomas, rest his soul. Eric Decker, Julius Thomas, Noshon Marino. They had Yvonne Miller. They had Chris Harris Jr. They had Bradley, had Bradley Roby. Now they got to add some other pieces. They go next year, they'll go get a DeMarcus Ware. They go get a key to lead and you see what happens. An MVP for Peyton Manning. They get to the super bowl, they get thrashed. And two bowl 48 against the Seahawks.
Ocho
Yeah.
Joe
They come back in 50 and they win it up, win it all. So I, I'm happy for him. This seemed, look, he's like, I, I. But I don't get what I don't get. This is what I don't get. Guys, I need y' all to help me because I happen to be On Fox. When LeBron went to. Went to LA.
Ocho
Yeah.
Joe
Damn near to a man. He didn't go to LA to catch Michael Jordan. He went to be Michael B. Jordan. He went to retire. He's in la LA land. No way you thought this man could win a championship with the pieces that they had in la. They killed him, Chad, you know I'm telling the truth.
Ocho
Yeah, facts.
Joe
That's what everybody said. He didn't go to catch Michael Jordan. He went to catch Michael B. Jordan. Now he goes to a team that have pieces that have really good players. Oh, he ring chasing.
Ocho
Yeah.
Joe
I need y' all to make it make sense. I need y' all to pick a side, and whatever side you decide to stay on, I'm cool with it. But the very people that said he wasn't trying to win. So what is he supposed to do now? You said if LeBron was serious about winning, he would take less money. Well, how much more? Less money is 4, is $4 million. You wanted to play for free. I don't think the NBA let him play for free. But $4 million compared to what he was making. Now it's reported that the clippers offered him one year deal, $20 million. He's like, Nah, I don't want that. Maybe they could have cleared out 15 million for the Warriors. Maybe they could have got a little mid level exception for the, for the Miami Heat, I don't know. But all I know is he says he believes that he's a, he could be a piece to a winning a championship. All the people that said the very reason that he went to LA wasn't to win. You criticize him now that he goes back to Philly with a chance to win. You know, nobody thought Philly was stacked until he joined him. Yeah, you notice that? You haven't noticed that?
Ocho
Yeah.
Joe
Hey now. Hey. I'm like, well, damn, it's like I was always, well, Shannon, you can't play. Why can't I play? Because you make the team uneven. Well, damn, how make the team uneven? I'm 10 just like you, right? LeBron makes the team uneasy. A 42 year old, really? A 42 year old Joe, I thought he wasn't any good.
Ocho
Nah, nah, come on, you, y' all see how that man take care of himself? How he in the gym every damn morning. Come on, man, that man, he playing for something too. He playing for his legacy. He know going to Philly, hell, they ain't wanted. How long? How long?
Joe
It's been 43 years. 1983, they swept the Lakers.
Ocho
43 years. So you know, Brian got that and be like, man, look, I take this franchise, Ocho, I take this franchise, the Sixes to the top. We get to the mountaintop and win. Come on, man, I ain't gotta catch mj. You know what I'm saying? But I've done something that no other
Joe
guy that he would have won a championship with, Joe, Huh? This would be the fourth team if he went to win, if he were to win a championship, it would be the fourth team. Miami, Cleveland, Lakers. Now the Sixers. Now Cleveland had never won a championship. He helped get them one. And that's the last time the, the Heat had won a championship. Box. Seven years. Last time the Lakers had won a championship, it was what, 10? So 10 years. And now we're talking about 43 years. But if you remember the year before, in 82, they had lost to the Lakers. They come back, they get mo, Mo said 444. I be damn. 444. He got him up out of there.
Uncle
Yeah. Hey, you know the funny thing too, Joe? You, you mentioned, you mentioned his legacy. I think LeBron actually going to Philly. And let's. Let's just say he doesn't happen to win a championship and things don't go the way we think they may go. As far as his legacy is concerned, it's cemented at this point, Duncan. Joe, it's cemented. I don't think he can do no wrong. There's nothing that can tarnish his legacy,
Ocho
but he can add to it.
Uncle
Ocho minute in history. He can add to it, but he can't do anything to actually harm it. Obviously, I want him to come here in Miami, understand the pieces that are missing for him to have a chance to. I mean. No, listen, listen. I understand the pieces that are missing here in Miami. You know, thinking about it being too much. Too much on him, not. Not having the extras needed, you know, to be able to do what he need to do down here in Miami. I'm happy. I'm happy for him. I'm not happy for him, but I'm happy for him, if that.
Joe
But help me understand, Joe. And you, You. You. You played the game. Why is it that him going to Philly and not winning a championship would harm his legacy, but Michael Jordan going to Washington did nothing? Oh, he was just going to have fun. He just wanted to play, you see. So let me ask you a question. Had he won a championship, would he have turned it down? What would you have said? Michael Jordan goes to Washington, wins seven. He's seven. And. Oh, yeah, that's what would have been said.
Ocho
Yeah, yeah.
Joe
I'm not making this up. See, what. Hey, there's Benefit and Ocho. I had. We had this discussion when we first started the show. I said. And I said, ocho, at some point in time, you realize the only thing left to do is to get old.
Ocho
Yeah.
Joe
Being 58 years of age and really understanding the game of basketball and seeing the trans. The transformation of it. I'm old enough to remember. Yeah, I'm old enough to remember. And we're going to address the topic in a second about LeBron and Jalen Rose, what he had to say, but I just don't. I just need people to help me understand. What is it about this man that rubs you so wrong, that upsets so many? We've never seen it. We've never seen a more polarizing figure. At once upon a time, I thought it was Tim Tebow, but this is Tim Tebow on steroids. Growth hormone, insulin, decaduable Sussanon 2. All that.
Uncle
Well, listen, the question you just asked is the reason why they don't like him? The question you just asked, why don't they? Because we've never seen it before, Joe. Because the expectations that he had on his shoulders coming out of the high school, many people thought he wouldn't be able to maintain it, let alone exceed him the way he has. He superseded everything, not only his own personal goals, hell, everyone else's. Everyone else's expectations on the outside looking in, he exceeded theirs as well. So the only thing left to do is for those they got to find something wrong with it.
Joe
They got to.
Uncle
And every time they throw something at him, he come back with something else. And he's still going at this age, still playing quality basketball at his age, still one of the best in the game at his age. Of course, people aren't going to like that. And the funny thing about it is most of the hate and some of the haters coming from those that played on the same type of hardwood he did.
Ocho
Yeah, it's tough, you know, I think he's going to supersede expectations, man. I think Brian understands and knows Ocho, that, man, this come with the territory, bro. You know what I'm saying? Like this just another stepping stone in the right direction and trying to make it a part of history. Going to Philly is definitely a risk, but I think it's the risk that he's willing to take knowing and understanding that man at that point guard spot, Ocho, you got to have a guard, bro, who going to be able to get money. That's. That's the most valued position in basketball right now. Just like football is a quarterback. If you ain't got no good quarterback Hill, it's going to be hard to win. Just like in basketball, man, if, yo. If your point guard can't get money, control both ends of the floor at some point, man, it's going to be hard to win in this league nowadays.
Joe
Yeah, Joe, you said something. I heard you while I was off camera. You said he understands that comes with the territory. Tell me, in the history of the sport, a man that's faced this level of visceral when he's been this good, has nothing off the field as far as we. He hasn't been in the blotter. He hasn't got a dui. He's been exemplary as far as we know, off the field, off the court. Married to his high school, been together since the eighth grade, raising three beautiful kids. I just need somebody to tell me. I just need. I need somebody in the chat. Tell me what it is. Tell Me, the man that wasn't caught, he just played. Tell me, what is it about him that elicits such a reaction, be it good or bad, with this man?
Uncle
Man, listen, I can't think of nothing.
Ocho
It's the admiration. It's the longevity. People tired of hitting. People tired of the glazing, bro. They tired of the glazing of LeBron. That's what they call it. They tired of it. You know what I mean? When you've been great for so long, at some point, man, they gonna start throwing sticks.
Joe
Let me ask you a question. Tell me the time that. Do you remember? Do you understand people been glazing Michael Jordan since the shoe came out? Yeah, 84.
Ocho
Yeah.
Joe
We talk about 42 years.
Uncle
Yes, sir.
Joe
We talk about 42 years.
Uncle
Yeah. But, Unc, you gotta understand, Jordan has been a standard with no comparison. With no comparison. There was nothing to compare to it. Therefore, glazing and appreciating what Michael had done over the years, not only on the court, but off the court, culturally. What he's done for us culturally in general. So it's kind of different now. Someone has come along that is comparable to that of Michael Jordan and what he's done on the court. Now, you have issues. Now you spin the committee up of those who enjoy the game of basketball. So they go. They're going to nitpick every in which way they can when it comes to those.
Joe
But LeBron's game is so, you know what?
Uncle
Completely different.
Joe
If he. They didn't get mad at Kobe, who basically copied. He's a facsimile of Jordan.
Ocho
Yeah.
Joe
If LeBron had did that, I was like, bro, come on now. If he had did what I did to my brother, everything that my brother did, I did. He had did. I said, come on, now. LeBron damn his game. The only thing that he got. Well, two things. He got the number and he got the powder toss. But he. Jordan didn't throw the powder toss. I think he just patted in his hand like this. Now, he might have. I mean, people did. People didn't put it on it like they do now. If you got a celebration, they got 15. These guys got 15 handshakes. They got a handshake with every guy they got a handshake with the day the. The camera lady they got a handshake with. I'm like, well, damn. How y' all remember all this?
Ocho
Hey, hey, that's bro. Hell, bro started all that. Oh, he started all that. He dab up the dude, the security dude at the damn, though when he
Joe
come before he come in, the dude at. The dude at the desk, he dapping him up. Hey, we had one thing, Deborah. My house salute. Okay, get it go, cuz that's all we got for you. But I just think the thing is, I believe that we could appreciate. Because you like Michael Jordan, that doesn't mean you have to hate Kobe or LeBron or any of the other. Because you like LeBron, that doesn't mean you have to dislike. And it took me a while to get that because I get this a lot when people say. And Joe, we was having a conversation. We had a conversation. When I told you call you the other day and a couple of days and Taylor, how great a job you were doing. I said, joe, I had to get out of this ocho of when somebody gave their opinion, they asked, okay, that's his list. That's his list. When people ask me, what's your favorite food? I like chicken breast. Chicken breast diet. You don't have no ribs. You don't like them, Bro, I can't kill nobody. I said, that's mine. So you can have you. But just because I like chicken breast, that doesn't mean I got to poop on oxtails or ribs or lobster or shrimp. I can't eat shellfish. I'm allergic. But, but, but that's. That's all I'm saying. We've never seen in the history of the game. And I go back, the first championship I can remember was the 76ers playing the Portland Trailblazers. Philly got out to a 20 lead. The Portland Trailblazers, Big Bill Rawton, Big Red Dr. Jack Ramsey was the head coach. They had Lionel Holland, a few other guys, but those were the two main guys. So I. I go back that far, that's 50 years. That's 50. I remember that. I've never seen it. And all the years I remember when. I remember when NBA was on cbs, Bill Russell was calling games. How many of y' all remember that? You remember Bill Russell was calling game, Joe.
Ocho
Nah, I don't. I ain't gonna even lie to you, Casey.
Joe
Joe. Yeah, yeah, yeah. They call games. Yeah, all them. Yeah.
Ocho
I ain't know that.
Joe
Then it went. Then it went to NBC. Marv Apple was play by play. Bill Costas, Peter Vessey was on the sideline. Ahmad Rashad. Not one person. One person. Nobody has had a relationship with a player like Ahmad Rashad had with Michael Jordan. Hello, Michael Jordan. Not one person ever said he glazed. Not one person ever said he was on the payroll. Not one person. Now, if you like a player, you're on the payroll. Tell me what he said about chat.
Ocho
Hey. And. And it's because how we ingest the information and how we see everything. And today the media is different. It wasn't that much. Damn. You couldn't only see that on the Amar Rashad show, you know what I mean?
Joe
On the Sunday game of the week,
Ocho
you know what I mean? Now we in just so much, bro. Like, and. And I feel like media is at the. At an all time high with a lot. With a lot of former athletes, you know, giving back.
Joe
That's a good thing, Joe.
Ocho
No, it is. I know. That's what I'm saying.
Joe
So many more. Because there are so many more outlets, Joe. There's so many more opportunities for you to get revenue. Back then, there was only one place.
Ocho
There you go, there you go. So you got so many people. It's a lot of people with different opinions.
Joe
And that is your opinion. But let me ask you a question. When did this. So what were Michael Jordan fans called? Were they called fans or were they called stands? What was Kobe fans called? Were they called fans or they called stands? What was Magic Johnson, Larry bird, Hakeem Elijah 1. Charles Barkley, Dr. J. What were their fans called? Were they called fans or what they call Stan? Joe, I throw it to you first.
Uncle
Nah.
Ocho
What were they called? Fans or stands?
Joe
Yes.
Ocho
Yeah, they were called fans.
Uncle
Yeah, I got it, I got it, I got it. I got it.
Joe
Ocho, what do they call LeBron fans?
Uncle
Okay. I mean, obviously stands. Right? Now, you gotta understand, culturally, the lingo has changed since then. So back then, Larry Bird, Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, they had fans. Now, you know, we've ushered in a new generation that has changed the way we talk. They changed the dialogue.
Joe
Oh, I know what it was called back then. They weren't saying nobody. Oh, you jockeying that man.
Uncle
Get out that man joke.
Joe
Yeah, that go back. Way back. So, okay, I'm glad you said it because you said the lingo change. Yeah. So back then it was called jockey. So who said you jockeying Jordan? Who said you jocking Kobe? Who said you jockey, Magic or Larry? I'm glad you did that, Ocho. You see, I open the door. See, that's what you gotta do sometimes. You gotta open the door. Cause Ocho don't wanna open the door. Yeah. So I gotta. I gotta kind of nudge it.
Ocho
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Joe
I gotta try to nudge it. I'm glad you said that. Yeah, that's All I'm saying, you could look. I. Bro, y' all see all them damn Jordan shoes I got?
Ocho
Yeah, yeah.
Joe
Y' all see all them Kobe shoes I got? I love them all. I, I do believe, I do believe I can appreciate LeBron. I can appreciate Kobe. I can appreciate Jordan. I believe that now you got who you believe is the goal. That's an argument that's never going to be decided. They never got an opportunity to play each other. Jordan says it's not fair for him to save him to go. Because I didn't play against, you know, some of the Bill Russells. I didn't play against the Wilt Chambers, I didn't play against some of those guys. And some of the guys that's going to come along didn't play against me, and some of the guys didn't play, play against LeBron and so forth and so on. So I get it. I get what he's saying. It's hard to transfer errors because things are different. Technology is different. Ocho is different. Now. Guys, guys are able to train and all these. You see that 175 million dollar facility the Broncos just built, Ocho?
Ocho
Ooh, I see it.
Joe
175. They got an Olympic sized cold plunge. They gotta, they gotta, they, they. The locker room, Ocho. 102 seats. You can only have 53 guys on the roster with another 15, so at most you can have is 70. They got an extra 30 seats up in there.
Uncle
Oh, yeah, absolutely.
Joe
They got a full bar to just walk out. I'm like, oh, my God. I said, man, I'd have never left there, Ocho. I'd have been like, you'd have been staying in the facility. I ain't got name. I ain't paying no 14, 1500amonth for no rent. I'm staying right between. Stay in my black ass right here.
Uncle
And listen, one thing not to go, not to go off topic when we talk about upgrades and what teams have done to improve their facilities. I had opportunity, obviously, while I was off, being that I had to work. I had to work in Carolina unc. I had an opportunity to go to the Panthers practice. I was able to see the Panther facility, man, Mr. Tepper, man, what he did in putting that facility for those players, for the amenities, that thing. Hey, Joe. I ain't never seen nothing like that. Joe, I thought the Bengals was stated.
Ocho
No, you didn't.
Uncle
Which it is. No, no, hey, listen to me. No, hey, all jokes aside, I'm not talking about the old Bengals. I'm talking about the new Bengals and what they did, it's crazy. So then I go to the Panthers. They got the same stuff the Bengals got. They've added all this stuff that I think for us, I mean, it would have been great to have at the time, but in a sense, I don't think we needed all it. The red light therapy, the saunas, the therapist.
Ocho
You don't think we need it?
Uncle
Hey, Joe, listen. They got the mini. They listen to many nutrition bars and the shakes and the vanillas and the fruit. And then I go to Chicago. Joe, two days ago, I was in Chicago. I went to Chicago practice, man. Who's the owner of the bears?
Joe
Ms. Hallis. The Halas is founded the Bears. He passed it to his daughter, Virginia McCaskey. She passed away. It's her son, but it's still in the family. So the McCaskeys.
Uncle
Well, I tell you what. Hey, the McCaskeys, boy, they did one hell of a job over there too. Uncle Joe, you hear me? With the facilities, with the amenities, the practice field, it's ridiculous at this point. I understand it is the NFL, right? But based on what I used to see.
Joe
Oh, yeah, it's different now o'. Clock.
Uncle
And the upgrades that they have now. Think about your high school, Unc. When was the last time you been to your high school?
Joe
Well, my high school doesn't exist anymore. They merged the two.
Uncle
Oh, yeah, but Joe, think about your high school, Joe. Does it look the same way it did when you. When you were there?
Ocho
It's historic, Ocho. It's HBO special on Little Rock Central. Look it up. But you can keep going, though.
Uncle
So they, they.
B. Scott
They make.
Ocho
No, they added some stuff like they added this big field house. I get where you going, though. I get where you going.
Uncle
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Hey, hey, boy. Hey, I'm talking about.
Ocho
It look good.
Uncle
Hey, uncle, it look good.
Joe
Yeah. I went back to my high school. I said, damn, these seats small. I fit my. I forgot. I done got bigger. Okay. I went back to my college. I'm like, how did I sleep my big ass on this twin bed? I'm like, what? Damn.
Ocho
Yeah, yeah.
Joe
But. Yeah, the thing is different now. In Carolina, I only played in Carolina, I played preseason games, Ocho and Joe, I never played a regular season. Yeah, that field, man, that grass is packed. It's great. I don't know if they still got natural grass, Ocho, but that grass was about. You talk about speed track, Ocho. You talk about a speed track.
Ocho
Yeah, yeah, man, listen, I. When I had Teague on here a past few days ago, you know, he talking about. He referred to Atlanta Hawks practice facility, the country club, man.
Joe
Oh, it's nice.
Ocho
Oh, my God.
Joe
Over there by Emory.
Uncle
Oh, it's like that joke.
Joe
Yeah, it's nice. It absolutely.
Ocho
Hey, hey, hey, hey. I got me a little key card to go in there and get me some work in too. Hell, man.
Uncle
Hey, Joe, you. You. They still give you access like that?
Ocho
They still get some access, Ocho. You know, Uncle Nocho, when I was playing, that was my thing. Like, if I couldn't sleep at night, bro, I go to the gym at 2 in the morning. You know what I mean? Get some shots up, use your key card like, you know, just like that. Sometimes that's good to me.
Joe
If I could sleep at night, I get a mean one. Go right to some sleep.
Ocho
Oh, man. Come on, man. Come on.
Joe
That's a sleeping pill for me. That's ambient. Hey, how
Ocho
n. Hey, I had.
Joe
Hey, all I had to do was free Willie, Willie will all up. I free Willy.
Uncle
That's it. That's it. Hey, I'm. Hey, listen. Hey, hey, hey, uncle, I'm with you right now.
Joe
I don't know what on y'. All. Yeah, yeah, he gonna go get some shots up. I'm gonna give a shot in. I don't know about. I'm gonna get it in, though,
Uncle
you know. You know what? See, you know what? You know what's funny too. And you think about the difference in sports, Uncle Joe, see, if we can't sleep at night, uncle, there's really nothing we could do at 2 in the morning. We can't go to the vicinity. See, for with basketball, it's a little easier, Joe. You can get up and go get some shots in, you know, you inside the gym.
Joe
No, I.
Uncle
Football wise.
Ocho
But it ain't even just getting shots here. You might just want to go in there and sit in the hot tub, sit in the Jacuzzi, get in the whirlpool. Hey, you never know. You. You know what I mean?
Joe
Oh, I want to be in something hot. It ain't no Jacuzzi. Yeah,
Ocho
yeah. Oh, yeah.
Joe
I don't know what. I don't know what type of time Joe on, but bless his heart. Chat.
Ocho
Bless his heart. Anytime. Anytime when, you know, the holidays and my family used to come down to Atlanta and everybody, man, we will all go to the practice facility on, like, Christmas after everybody open up gifts and we a hoop and man, it was just. It's just. It's just stuff like that, bro. That you know you. When you look back at them, like, damn, we had some great times.
Joe
Yeah. Hey, hey. I ain't need no holiday to open up something. Hey, hey, hey. It's been a while chat. Y' all can tell I've been away from y' all for a while. So I'm just getting, you know, I'm getting back into getting back in this week of thing. Yeah, he told me you opened up some presents bad look here.
Ocho
Yeah.
Joe
Boy was upon a time when I was hell without wheel Joe.
Ocho
Yeah.
Joe
Crack leg like Humpty Dumpty.
Ocho
Mean demonstration.
Joe
Mean demonstration when I was in my 20s, Joe.
Ocho
I already know it.
Uncle
Hey, hey, listen, I'm with you when
Joe
you write Joe 20. Oh, with all that test drone I had. Hey, what grandma told cle hey woo and woo. And make your head pop off. Yeah.
Uncle
French fry.
Joe
French fry said she ain't got nothing to say to you, man. Joe, let me ask you this. You think Philly can win it all?
Ocho
Yes, I do think Philly can win it all. I think what's gonna determine Philly's fate, Uncle Ocho, is. I mean, it's health, bro. We can't. We can't ignore that. I mean, hell, we. We gotta hope Embi stay healthy. We gotta hope. You know, obviously Brian stay healthy. You know, with him being up in age. French fry. What's up, baby?
Joe
French fry.
Uncle
Hey, what's up? Say hi.
Joe
You don't got big.
B. Scott
Hi.
Uncle
Yeah, see all the hair? So you got more hair than mommy? Because mommy ball head.
Joe
No, don't say that. Don't say that. French fries. See, mommy got lots of here, man. You know, man, you know what you call it? Watching, man.
Uncle
Ocho, don't worry about it.
Joe
Yeah, no, we gonna keep. We worried about it.
Ocho
He wants to. He want to stand something up right now.
Joe
Yeah, yeah. He always on some bull jack.
Ocho
Hey, coming off vacation here. A little spicy, but. Yeah.
Joe
If. If. Bad joke. Somebody just said this. Chad say unc number one, Shay number two, and Shadow number three. They ain't lying. All the spots.
Ocho
Yeah, they ain't lying.
Joe
But.
Ocho
But that's okay, though. We ain't. We. We don't put no judgment on you, and it don't make no bad brother.
Joe
No bad brother. Top of the list. You ain't no bad brother because of that. Yeah, man. It is what it.
