Max Crosby says he wants to be a Raider. I never wanted to leave in the first place, but people have their own opinions on that. I'm not in the business side. I'm not on the third floor, so I don't know. I'm not a mind reader. I'm not the future predictor. I'm just. I'm not going to do that. I'm going to be present. I'm going to be the best Raider I can be for as long as I possibly.
Ocho
You know, obviously, once you're back, you're gonna say all the right things, huh? Once you're back, you're gonna see all the right things. I'm not sure when is the last time the Raiders had a winning season. And I'm not saying that in disrespectful way. I think with Derek Carr.
Ryan Blaney
Right.
Ocho
I forgot.
Chad Johnson
Yeah. When y' all beat him.
Ocho
Yeah.
Chad Johnson
I mean, when was that old stuff? We don't bring it up.
Ocho
Yeah, yeah, yeah. So I, I thought maybe a change is anywhere for him.
Chad Johnson
Probably about the same time y' all went to the playoff about four, five years ago, Joe.
Ocho
Maybe 20, 21. No, no, huh?
Chad Johnson
My bad, Joe.
Joe
My bad. I kept it straight.
Ad Voice 4
I ain't.
Ocho
Hey, the Cowboy then. Quarter straight. Yeah, but I think a change of scenery would have been good. Would have been good for him. Going somewhere where he can, he can compete. I can compete for something, play for something outside of just being, you know, I, I, I. It is what it is. But obviously now that he's there, he gonna say all the right things.
Joe
Yeah.
Chad Johnson
What you thinking, Joe? You think, you think Jay go try to pull a rabbit out of that?
Joe
He probably. Jerry probably trying, Uncle. Oo, but. And I don't know if that's going to happen, bro. You know, I, I think Max Crosby is, is, is a great. He's a great leader, great defender in the position that he plays. But I don't think Jerry gonna be able to pull that one off, fellas.
Chad Johnson
I'm sorry. Plus another guy making 30 plus million a year.
Joe
Hey, hey, at some point, you go like, like you say, you're gonna have to pay. Dak, you're gonna have to pay. CD you gonna have to play, man. Come on, man.
Ocho
Can't pay everybody.
Joe
You can't have all these superstars over there, bro.
Chad Johnson
Yeah, but I mean, saying the right thing. But at some point in time, I would think, I would like to think Max would like to play meaningful Football.
Ocho
Same thing with my. Same thing. Same thing with Miles.
Ryan Blaney
Football.
Ocho
You know, they gave. They gave him the green light. You know, you've done enough for us. You've done enough for us. And you. You hope. You would hope at some point the Raiders organization feel the same way about Miles. I mean, about Miles. About Max. About Max.
Chad Johnson
Yeah.
Ryan Blaney
I'm tripping.
Chad Johnson
Yeah. I think now. I think it's hard for me to see a scenario if he's not traded before. Before the season start, that he's on the tees, on the team next year, especially if he gets off the field healthy or if they.
Joe
If they play great football. Meaning. I mean, the Raiders ain't got a chance.
Chad Johnson
They took. They young, inexperienced in a lot of different places. I mean, Max is really the only guy that I like, I got to have on the defensive side of football. I mean, they got some okay players, but Max is. We need to find out how they're going to be offensively.
Joe
Right.
Chad Johnson
Cousins at the helm. I think Cousins opened the season as the Week 1 starter.
Ocho
What the Raiders got over there at receiver? They got Tucker. Little Tucker. He fast as hell.
Chad Johnson
Don't start me.
Ocho
We got Brock Bowers.
Chad Johnson
Brock Bowers back. If he's healthy, he won the top tight end in all the football. Let me see. Raiders receiving core. Trey Tucker. Oh, Naylor. I don't know. I don't know. Deontay Thornton, Jr. Malik.
Ocho
All right. Okay. Yeah, they.
Ryan Blaney
They.
Ocho
They're decent. They decent. They got some playmakers.
Joe
Yeah.
Chad Johnson
Bowers, keep him healthy because that boy can play.
Ad Voice 2
Ooh.
Joe
Yeah. Yeah.
Ocho
They will be. The future.
Chad Johnson
Bleacher Report has released their most stacked NFL teams heading to 2020 6. Houston Texans 1. Rams 2, Eagles 3. Detroit 4. Steelers 5, Ravens 6, Broncos 7, Seahawks 8, Niners, 9, Bills, 10. Damn, I thought another team was stacked. No, Joe, that was. That's what I. What am I calling.
Ocho
Yeah, that's what. That's what he's been saying.
Joe
Y' all talking about my Cowboys?
Chad Johnson
I mean, they didn't talk about your Cowboys. I mean, we could talk about them if you want to break them up.
Joe
Hey, we don't mind sitting back in the bushes waiting. Waiting for you to come by and we jump out on you.
Chad Johnson
We ain't tripping.
Joe
Hey, we ain't tripping. We ain't got to be up in the tabloids. You ain't got to have us at the top. Nathaniel, you hear me, right? The season start, we bringing that thumper, partner. I'm just letting y' all know.
Ocho
Okay?
Chad Johnson
Okay.
Joe
Hell, who Doing this bleachery, man. Nobody trying to hell it. You say we're gonna open the season. What?
Chad Johnson
I ain't say nothing. JoJo. I'm sorry for interrupting you. Go ahead.
Joe
Come on, man.
Chad Johnson
I don't want you to lose your fault.
Ocho
Hey, hey. Who was number one on that list?
Joe
The Texas.
Chad Johnson
The Texans.
Ocho
Okay.
Chad Johnson
Yeah.
Ocho
They. They loaded. They loaded.
Joe
They more loaded than the Rams.
Chad Johnson
But look here. They must have ain't pencil in because I don't give a dang who they got. If. If 99 comes back, they need to be number one.
Ocho
Absolutely.
Chad Johnson
I don't give that. I don't care who they got 99 and 95 together.
Ocho
And why was Seattle so low? Because Seattle is still loaded.
Chad Johnson
Don't start me to lie, Ocho. Because they. I think their defense didn't really long. They lost.
Ocho
Yeah, Tyreek, that was it.
Chad Johnson
He went to Philly because that's why Philly. So, you know, they got Wolin, they got Kenyon. Kenyon, they got
Ocho
the gene, the 2D. The two big D tackles. What's that? What's that?
Chad Johnson
What's the offensive line?
Ocho
The undersized dn. He don't wear no gloves. Number three.
Chad Johnson
Oh, you talking about the kid from Georgia?
Ocho
I can't remember his name.
Chad Johnson
What's his name? Oh, man, I can't think of his name. Ocho, I know who you're talking about. He. Boy, he thought. Boy, he covered. Well, he. Yeah, I like him, but he be sitting lineman. They be pulling. He be sitting line on the ass. Yeah, the Texans. Cause the Rams offense. Detroit, the Steelers. Damn, they. Hey, people loving the Steelers this year, Ocho.
Ocho
What? I mean when they say loving the Steelers, is it offensively or. Because what they have defensively, they say they stacked.
Joe
You ain't rolling, Ojo.
Ocho
Yeah, yeah, yeah. I mean, they stacked. I mean, listen, they were stacked last year.
Chad Johnson
Oh, what?
Ad Voice 4
Hold on.
Ad Voice 3
Whoa, whoa, whoa.
Chad Johnson
I see a team ain't up there.
Ocho
Whoa.
Chad Johnson
I know somebody team is up there. Somebody. Both of them.
Joe
Man, here we go. See? See, I'm talking about Ocho. See what I'm saying?
Ocho
Who team you talking about? Joe?
Joe
He talking about both of his team.
Chad Johnson
Both of my teams are in the top 10. I don't see neither one of your teams.
Ocho
My team. Oh, we ain't worried about being up there because we know what we got here.
Chad Johnson
Let me turn my light on, see if I can find y'.
Ad Voice 1
All.
Ocho
Hey, we know what we got. We gonna be all right.
Chad Johnson
Hey, hey, Chad, I got my ladder. Let me see if I can Find it right quick.
Joe
You gotta chill. Oh, yeah, you got. Damn. You gotta check.
Chad Johnson
Damn, Joe, I don't know why they put your team.
Joe
Ain't none of them team's gonna win it.
Chad Johnson
So you don't think none of the teams that they listed the top 10. Oh, no, JoJo. No, no, Jose. There you go.
Joe
Joe.
Chad Johnson
Joe, you not gonna go to the game even if they do play in it. So who ain't gonna go to the game?
Joe
Okay, you know what I'm gonna do.
Ocho
But, Joe, you ain't been to a game.
Joe
You don't know what I been.
Ocho
Joe, you not hard to spot at a Cowboys game.
Chad Johnson
Joe, you say what?
Ocho
You not hard to spot at a Cowboys game. You never been.
Joe
You don't know. I may be up there in the suite with Jerry and the kids now. And Steven there.
Chad Johnson
Yeah, Joe. Yeah, Joe, you not that.
Joe
Nothing happening.
Ocho
You know, honestly, Joe's a Falcons. Joe is a Falcons fan.
Joe
Hey, listen. Hey, look, look, I know you and oo boy, y' all want to hate on the Cowboys so bad. I can't wait for this.
Ocho
Yo, I. I spoke glowingly about the Cowboys since we started.
Joe
Yeah, but you low key hate on them too, though. Like. Like, you.
Ad Voice 5
You.
Joe
You say something great about picking, you be like, Joe, Y. Yeah, da, da, da, da.
Chad Johnson
But then you, you know, you slick hate.
Joe
You know what I mean?
Ocho
Joe, I've constantly given the offense Dak pick and CD absolute credit.
Ryan Blaney
The.
Ocho
The defense hasn't proven themselves. So what you want me to say? Okay, you got. You got.
Chad Johnson
You gotta.
Ocho
You know, you got Caleb downs, you got. You know, you do your 2D tackles, but it's. It's so many. It's so many other questions that aren't answered because y' all ain't played nobody.
Chad Johnson
Okay, well, we go. We're gonna.
Joe
We're gonna ask them when the season start. But uncle always bringing up old stuff.
Chad Johnson
I'm like, man, why'd you stand and talk about that? I got it. I ain't saying that's okay. I'm just saying I'm over here minding my black business.
Joe
Nah, I see what's going on.
Chad Johnson
I was thinking about the beautiful day that I had today.
Joe
Yeah, I can't wait till we see them damn Ravens.
Ryan Blaney
Oh, boy.
Ocho
Oh, hey, y' all playing September or late in the season now?
Chad Johnson
We play. We play. We play them in Rio.
Ocho
I mean, I'm saying early in the season. Earlier or late.
Joe
It's early.
Chad Johnson
Yeah.
Ocho
Yeah, I hope.
Chad Johnson
I hope it don't matter.
Ocho
I hope. I hope they Play after week four. Because like around week four is when all offenses sort of hit their stride and the chemistry and everything, you know, is it start flowing?
Chad Johnson
Yeah.
Ocho
Okay, okay, okay, okay.
Chad Johnson
Close enough. El Jack over.
Ocho
So who you got winning, huh?
Joe
The Cowboy man. Stop asking crazy questions.
Ocho
Hey, hold on, hold on. I got a question for unc, though. You seen what George Pickens and CD have done to many defensive duos, right?
Chad Johnson
Yes.
Ocho
How in the world are they gonna stop George Pickens and C.D. lamb, Marlon Humphrey, you got Wiggins on the other side. What's the answer? I know you got Kyle Hamilton. Kyle Hamilton is arguably the best safety in the NFL.
Chad Johnson
Hey, hold on, hold on.
Ocho
I'm sure the chat would agree. I just want to know what is the answer to stopping Ced Lamb and George Pickens?
Ad Voice 1
Hold on.
Chad Johnson
Is we 6 foot 3, 250 pounds. Derek Henry, that jackhammer.
Ocho
Okay.
Chad Johnson
Y' all been. Well, it's hard for picking and what you call me? Get up with the football.
Joe
What you think? We just signed Big Quinn from.
Chad Johnson
We.
Joe
We clogging up. That them now? No, no, no, sir.
Chad Johnson
That man run through.
Ryan Blaney
Nah,
Chad Johnson
nah. Moving him off.
Joe
Hey. Oh, that's. I think that. I think that that train ran through here, man. It's over with.
Chad Johnson
Oh, it's over. King be.
Joe
Be dominating like that.
Chad Johnson
Oh, there ain't nothing going.
Joe
How is King? Hearing
Ocho
aids don't matter with him.
Chad Johnson
Don't matter.
Ocho
It don't matter with him. I just wanted. I just wanted. Listen, y' all problem was being able to stop the run,
Chad Johnson
and they ain't.
Ocho
You got brother. You got Brother Williams. You got brother Walker. Can you stop the run this year? We're gonna find. We're gonna find out Week three.
Joe
Hello. Hello. There you go. Say no more.
Chad Johnson
All I want to do. Put your heel, son. Put your heels at nine yards, come downhill. That's all I want to see him do. Put his heels at night.
Ocho
Hey, Joe.
Chad Johnson
Now, y' all start out. Y' all gonna start out fired up. Yeah, that what I'm talking about. We just all fired up come third quarter.
Joe
Now, they ain't going down. They ain't going down, boy.
Chad Johnson
You think they'll made a d the way to be invited, people? Right this way, sir.
Ocho
Hey, Joe. Long as long as. Hey, hey, Joe. Them boy gotta get Derrick Henry going east and west. Boy, he get to going north and south.
Chad Johnson
No, no, no, no.
Ocho
I don't know who gonna make that tackle.
Joe
No, no, no, my friend. We is not having that.
Ocho
That. That could be Caleb Williams. Welcome to the NFL moment. Hey, Derek Henry come through that A, that, that A gap, that B gap and he meet him and that and that, that, that, that, that offensive line it Paul like to see and it's just a safety.
Joe
Oh, what's gonna happen?
Ocho
What's gonna happen?
Joe
Yeah, yeah.
Ocho
Okay. Listen, I know, I know, I know you love Caleb Downs. I love him too. But boy, listen here. I done seen many a grown men make business decision when Derrick Henry get through that come through that hole. Boy, that ain't.
Chad Johnson
That ain't the fight you want to get involved in. You know, your first fight, it need to be a show victory. Hey, you know, you little. The first fight you hey, you always got to make sure it's. Yeah, I got. If worse come to worse, at worst case it's a tie, it's a draw. Everybody says a draw. I can't take the L. I came the first fight be a L.
Joe
All right. Thanks.
Ryan Blaney
Hey.
Chad Johnson
The Bills are addressing the feedback after their $2.2 billion stadium debut. A record crowd attended Saturday scrimmage, but obstructed seats, small video boards quickly became the focus of the conversation. The the president, the team said in a statement. Saturday's practice was a great opportunity to test the new stadium. We are currently addressing internal and external feedback regarding the facilities operation following the first event. We'll utilize the next six weeks to refine any details as we prefer prepare for the home open of September 17th. League sources told front Office board that the Bills have in fact heard from some of their personal seat license holders regarding sightline related issues. Again, we will throw this to Ocho because Ocho said that some of the people you tried to make the team look bad.
Ocho
Ocho, I'm still waiting to see. I'm still waiting to see the proof.
Joe
We seen it yesterday.
Ocho
I'm still Joe
Chad Johnson
the Bills the league Source League told Front Office Sports that the Bills have in fact heard from some of their personal seat license holders regarding sightline related issues. Which was what we tried to show left yesterday. Ocho said the seat probably wasn't even seats up there.
Ocho
No, I said it was the stairs because I see the railing right there. I ain't never seen. I seen the railing right there. But hey, shoot, ain't my God. Ain't my goddamn stadium. That's on them.
Chad Johnson
You know, y', all, y', all, y' all say to my hope with 20,000 people, Ocho, you ain't getting no more crazy.
Ocho
Hey, you ever been. You ever been to the Jungle Dud? A Monday night, Thursday night, Sunday night
Chad Johnson
game it like that.
Ocho
But a. Ain't no better environment, boy. Ain't no better environment than Paycor Stadium, boy, at a. At a. At a prime time game. Joe.
Joe
Yeah.
Chad Johnson
I don't know what it was called when we was there. We just called. We. We just call it Beat the Bingo Stadium, because that's what happened every time.
Interviewer
We.
Ocho
We never. I never lost to you. I never lost to y'. All. Oh, they. They.
Chad Johnson
Well, we beat the brakes off, y'.
Ad Voice 2
All.
Ocho
They go to picture right there.
Chad Johnson
Yes.
Ocho
Hey, boy, that's. So that show is high up, boy.
Chad Johnson
Well, damn. What you think? Everybody. What you think? Everybody.
Ocho
I mean, for you and Nosley, club level.
Chad Johnson
You want everybody to see club level.
Ocho
I'm just saying. But you sitting that high and you worried about being able to see. Get you some better. Get you some better tickets first.
Chad Johnson
Okay, what about this right here?
Ocho
Them the seats, huh?
Joe
Yeah.
Chad Johnson
Yes.
Ocho
That's bad. That boy.
Ryan Blaney
Yeah.
Ocho
I ain't see this, but I ain't see that little version yesterday.
Chad Johnson
I told you, put your head over the mad eye right here, huh?
Joe
What if you was sitting right here?
Ocho
Shoot, I'm stand up the whole game.
Ad Voice 2
Hold on.
Chad Johnson
What about the people behind you?
Ocho
They better stand up, too.
Chad Johnson
Hey, I guess y' all gonna be standing the whole damn game. Cause you know people gonna say, hey, Joe, sit down.
Joe
Listen. Nah, this ain't it.
Ocho
Yeah, that. Hey, hold on. Everything constructed already. I'm trying to figure out what they. What. What are they going to do in the season. Get ready to start in two more weeks or three weeks, if that.
Chad Johnson
Hey, the. What the. What they. They figured out. That's what they. They will do. They going. They going to figure it out. But. But they said they used the. This company that's built a lot of the stadiums. How. How you not. I mean, what you do is like, okay, you go around and you look at what team, like, okay, the super bowl, what team, what cities normally do they go look and see how. What the. The previous city and how they did it, how they organized it, Bro, how you not take somebody like, man, I really like the new. I really like the new Sofi Stadium, man. You know what? I like that big Jumbotron that Jerry got in Jerry's World. And I really like, you know, this part of that state. And you kind of take bits and pieces all the while trying to tie it in to what you are. It ain't that complicated. Hell, you got 800. You got damn near a billion dollars of taxpayers money.
Ocho
At least get it right, huh?
Joe
Man, they build that nice stadium right there. Why Buffalo won't play in no dome? Cause they want to use that as home field.
Ocho
Nah, nah, nah.
Chad Johnson
You can't do it.
Ocho
They can't play. You can't play for the Buffalo Bills and playing the Dome, Joe. Man, you and you. Especially when you playoffs, you want team that are coming from warm weather. Cities that come into that cold weather. They're not.
Chad Johnson
You feel that?
Joe
Damn. Well, I. Yeah.
Chad Johnson
Ocho speculation is that they're gonna have to make those seats unsellable. So in other words, they won't be able to sell those teeth. Those. Those tickets, they won't be ticketing.
Ocho
Okay, I see what you're saying. I see what you're saying.
Ad Voice 1
Or.
Ocho
Or you can sell them for a very, very cheap price. That people understand that their eyeline and vision may be blocked at what side of the field, the plate the play is on. Yeah.
Chad Johnson
Guess what? Your eyeline gonna be blocked yet. Cause somebody gonna be going in the opposite direction all the time. So somebody. Your ally gonna be blocked every series. Cause somebody going in that direction. Yeah. Cause I mean, you know, it's kind of like. Like Jacksonville. Ocho. Remember Jacksonville when they started having. All those people started showing up. They black put the black tarp on Miami, you put those black tarps. Ain't nobody sitting up there. Damn. So, I mean, and. And the stadium, I guess the stadium is a little smaller than the original Rich stadium, the old Buffalo Bill Stadium. So now it's about to be even smaller if you take, you know. Cause the thing is, look, your money is in the. The ticketing, the suites and things of that nature. And you gotta make it, because what else are you gonna be able to hold up? There ain't nothing like you can hold a whole lot of stuff. You come January, if it ain't a football game, what you gonna hold it? Maybe hockey, the Sabres can use it. But it's not. It's not like Mercedes Benz in Atlanta, where you get the national championship, you get the Peach bowl, you get the SEC championship. You know what I'm saying? You get. You get high school foot. You get high school football games. I mean, what you go? What you gonna do? It's not like Jerry's World, you know, you got a big truck, rodeos, you got track to pull, you know. You know, Monster truck series. Yeah. See, that's what you get for not honoring O.J. the ghost of O.J. struck again. Oh, put that man next to me. They not gonna put his name up in the stadium.
Ocho
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. I Forgot about that.
Joe
Yeah, yeah, they ain't having that on August 21st.
Ryan Blaney
What's your plan?
Chad Johnson
I want the vengeance. No one does action movies. You got a problem on the ship like Jason Statham? Well, he'll need all the help you can get. Mutiny. Rated R. August 21st when you're moving like I do, trips don't always come together weeks in advance. Sometimes production shoots, interviews or something I've got to travel for on a short notice. Those are Joe De lamalier. Those are, if I'm not mistaken. I think those are your hall of Famers.
Ad Voice 1
Okay.
Chad Johnson
How many of them in front of O.J.
Ocho
that's a good. Hey, that's. Oh, it's hard, but a juicy 2,000
Chad Johnson
yards in a 14 game season. He was the best. He was the. He was the best player in football. Forget running back. He was the best player in football.
Ocho
Yeah. Hey, listen, don't.
Chad Johnson
He don't get the. Because they didn't win. I tell you what, go ask the Steelers when he put 250 on the Steelers 11 Sunday on the Steel Curtain.
Ocho
Yeah, don't be the line. I. I know. Hey, I know Juice was the real deal, bro.
Chad Johnson
Yeah, for sure. Six day Heisman Trophy winner. But y'. All, you knew that. I mean, you know, you know, y'. All. Joe know his Hydromet trophy with us now.
Joe
I know some of them. I ain't gonna lie to you. I know some of them.
Chad Johnson
I mean, I, I don't know. I. I don't. I don't. Me personally, I don't think the Buffalo Bill fans like, oh my God, I'm not coming to A game now because OJ Names Simpson name is on the facade. It's. It's ended up in the stadium. I don't think that. I don't think that would have occurred.
Joe
You don't think somebody. You don't think they would have spoke on that?
Chad Johnson
No, it was up in the old stadium, and ain't nobody spoke on it.
Ryan Blaney
I don't know, man.
Joe
I. I seen that documentary, bro.
Chad Johnson
Oh, I saw the documentary. I met him several times. O.J. he used to come with NBC. He was the sideline reporter for NBC Real. In the early 90s. Yeah, absolutely.
Joe
Yeah, they went to bed on that. But that's a story for another day.
Chad Johnson
I may or may not have seen those shoes. Actually, I saw him at a Rams game about three years ago. About three, four years ago. He's at a Rams game. I think it was a Monday night game. I went to the game. Yeah, yeah, the Rams. When the Rams won the super bowl and they played, they opened the season against Buffalo, and Buffalo beat the brakes off of him. Yeah, he was at the game. USA Today released their top 10 coach. The top 10 coaches on the hot seat heading into 2020. 6, Shane Steichen, Colts. Number 1, Jets. Aaron Glenn. Number 2, Buccaneers coach Todd Bowles. Number 3, Zach Taylor. 4, Dan Quinn. 5. Nick Sirianni. 6, Matt LaFleur. 7, Clint Kubiak, High clear. Kubiak on the hot seat. He just got there.
Ocho
Hold on. Well, Aaron Glenn just got there, too.
Chad Johnson
He on the hot seat.
Joe
Damn,
Chad Johnson
man, you know the jokes don't play.
Ocho
I. I understand that. And most of the time they give us those opportunities, know damn well we're not gonna be able to turn anything around. In order to turn around, you need at least three to four years to do so. So, hey, it is what it is. And how the hell is Shane Steichen on the hot seat with the way they played last year?
Chad Johnson
Well, you remember they got up to that great start, Ocho. They was the number one seed in the afc, and then what's the.
Ocho
Danny Dimes got hurt. So you can't put the coach on
Chad Johnson
the hot seat when he was playing
Ocho
as well as you were.
Chad Johnson
Hey, that lady, she took over the three daughters took over, but one of them's in charge. I forget her name.
Ocho
And Zach Taylor being on the high seat. That don't make no sense. One thing you do know about Mr. Brown, if there's a coach in the contract, he's going to play that, the entirety of that contract out. He's not fighting.
Chad Johnson
Didn't he just signature.
Ocho
Exactly. And he ain't firing nobody. So that one don't make no sense. There was somebody else. There's one more name you said that didn't make any sense to me.
Chad Johnson
That just got Mariani, Todd Bowles, Dan Quinn, Nick Sirianni.
Ocho
Sirianni. Okay, Sirianni.
Chad Johnson
I can see Matt LaFleur for the Packers.
Ocho
Okay, I, I, I can see. I can see that, too. Again, these are situations when you think about the packers team. As great as they are, the expectations are extremely high. The expectations are extremely high over there, and they're feeling if they don't play well this season, which I'm sure they will do, because offensively they're good. Defensively, they're sound, I think they might move in a different direction. I can see that happening. As great as the packers are. Excuse me. Not great. As good as the packers are. Let me see who else,
Joe
I think.
Chad Johnson
Oh, they just. He just got the job. This is his first year. He already on the hot seat.
Ocho
Well, hell, Aaron Glenn just got there. How he on the hot seat already? Look what he got to work with. And bringing another coach in. Still not having. Still not having anything to work with is still gonna give you the same goddamn results.
Joe
Yeah.
Chad Johnson
Gotta have some players and then Patriots. Mike Vrabel, man.
Ocho
All right, now they just put anything on there. Now they just put anything on there. You know good and well Mike V ain't on no hot seat.
Chad Johnson
Now, the man just went to the damn Super Bowl.
Ocho
No, at that point.
Chad Johnson
What.
Ocho
What is.
Ad Voice 1
Who is it?
Ocho
Who wrote this?
Joe
Who wrote this?
Ocho
What?
Chad Johnson
USA Today.
Joe
He may. Hey. United. All right.
Ocho
Hey. They just filling out names. It's about two or three on that. That actually makes sense.
Chad Johnson
Yes. And if they was gonna get rid of Braver for, For the Trans. Even though that doesn't impact. I don't think. I don't think anything that transpired this offseason. And we know what transpired this offseason, does that impact his ability to coach this team? Because when I make a move, I'm looking at it. Okay. How does this impact. Did his said behavior. Does it impact this team?
Ocho
Absolutely not. I wish more people were inside these locker rooms. They see how these players really don't give two. You know what?
Chad Johnson
I got nothing to do, man. I ain't studying what that man got going on. I got my own issues.
Joe
Hello.
Chad Johnson
My baby mama dragging me. My baby mama dragging me back to court. Nobody. She want more money. You think I worried about what the hell he got going on?
Joe
Hey, hey. Say That a little louder for the people in the back? For the people?
Chad Johnson
Probably, yeah. Joe, I. Joe, I'm for real, man. I ain't worried about what somebody else got going on. I got. But they don't even know.
Ocho
Oh, man. Hey, you know what I wish? Wish. I wish I don't know how to. Hey, what you want to dial up over there?
Chad Johnson
Hey, hey, Joe, my co parents in front of me. Yeah, we can.
Ocho
Yeah.
Chad Johnson
Oh, that was me. I think that was me. Guys, this Internet here. We won't be back in this hotel no more, I promise.
Ocho
It was you. Were you on dial up over there?
Chad Johnson
Hey, hey, hey.
Joe
They got too many more times to mess up with you, huh? You done with them?
Ad Voice 2
You?
Chad Johnson
Yeah, I'm done. I'm done. I was done with him this time. They booked this hotel without my. Without my knowledge. But it won't happen again.
Interviewer
You good?
Ryan Blaney
You good?
Chad Johnson
Yeah, I promise. I promise you.
Ocho
You good?
Joe
Yeah. But
Chad Johnson
whatever code you got going on, as long as it's not a medical emergency. It's not. As long as it doesn't involve life and death. I got my own issues. Like I say, my co parent got me under the gun, man. Leave me alone. No, no, I ain't done with you yet. What? What you mean you ain't done with me yet? Come on, Come on, Joe.
Ryan Blaney
If, if.
Chad Johnson
Girl, I ain't bother you. Oh, no. Oh. Oh, no.
Ocho
The funny thing about it is I
Chad Johnson
got something for you.
Joe
It's a cold game, boy.
Ocho
Hey, if you. If, if. If you were able to tap in to the lives of each individual player and the issues that they have going on, along with the so called scandal between coach and the reporter, they would put what they got going on to shame. Yeah, for sure it would put it to shame. I mean, people, people have no. Oh, man. It's just. I'm not here to speak on that.
Chad Johnson
But you know what happened, Ocho. It. Just because it played out publicly. Damn.
Ocho
Damn. Oh, you might need a little hot spot over there, boy.
Chad Johnson
Million. It is what it is.
Ocho
Hey, hey, hey. We ain't hear nothing you just said, boy.
Chad Johnson
I can hear y' all though.
Ocho
Yeah, you can hear us now?
Chad Johnson
Oh, yeah.
Ocho
I thought Joe was froze for a minute. Joe. Joe wasn't moving.
Joe
Nah, I'm locked in. I'm locked in to him talking about.
Chad Johnson
We need to start Link. I need. I need a new hotel.
Ocho
Where you at?
Joe
Don't do it. Don't do it. Don't do it. Don't do it.
Chad Johnson
I ain't going to say where I Bet I just won't be here no more.
Joe
Don't be messy, bro. Don't be messy.
Ocho
I'm being messy, man. I mean, I'm just saying, like, they got dial up. All right, don't worry about it.
Chad Johnson
I don't know what it is. I can never get phone service on my. What you call them? Internet service on my phone. Jordan got to hook it up to Jordan hotspot. Then Jordan leave. I can't get Internet no more. Jordan have to leave his phone in here. I ain't lying, Joe, man. I said, come on, man. Already knew we was driving up because I was in the back of the car. I was nodding off. We driving up. I said we staying here. Oh, we got a very, very special guest joining us.
Ryan Blaney
What's happening?
Chad Johnson
Drive the number 12 car for Penske, Ford Mustang and his ninth season team owner Roger Pinsky. And it's 11th full season on the NASCAR cup season. Here he is. Gas with Ryan. On the gas with Ryan Blaney. Ryan, what's going on, man?
Ryan Blaney
How are you? Thanks for having me on.
Chad Johnson
Go ahead, Ojo. Take it away.
Ocho
Surprise, man. What's up, baby? How's everything, man?
Ryan Blaney
I'm doing good. Have you. Have you recovered yet?
Ocho
I'm still a little nauseous. It's kind of. It's kind of affected my relationship a little bit. And that's. That's another topic for another day outside of that, man. Again, thank you. Again, thank you. That was a tremendous experience for me, you know, being able to ride with you.
Chad Johnson
And let's take a look at the episode or show what you're talking about. Let's give the fans an opportunity to see what you're actually talking about. Oh, my goodness. That's crazy.
Ocho
Are the tires warm?
Joe
Oh, yeah.
Ocho
So that means we won't. We won't spin out?
Ad Voice 2
I hope not.
Ocho
Oh. Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
Ryan Blaney
I'm glad you made it through. I'm appreciative of you sticking with me.
Chad Johnson
Love you.
Ryan Blaney
Love you, brother. I had you. I had you back. I had your back. You're tough to know.
Ocho
I feel bad.
Ryan Blaney
Yeah.
Ocho
Y.
Ryan Blaney
Man, I thought.
Chad Johnson
Ryan, how fast were you? How fast?
Ryan Blaney
I thought we lost Chad, but we were probably going. We probably got up to about 170. Oh, right there. Yeah. So we were. We were digging a little bit. Not too bad, but, man, I give it to you, Chad. You toughed it out, man. That's. That's not easy to do. You stuck with it all day. That's a. It Was a hot one. But I appreciate you coming on, man. That was a fun experience. I hope you had a good time, and hopefully we get to keep doing that.
Ocho
Yeah, yeah, absolutely. I think one of the things, obviously, I'm one that enjoys nascar. I've been to a few of the motor speedways, obviously, on first dates, and I really enjoy. People don't understand how difficult it is when you're not in the driver's seat going at 170, 180, 190 miles an hour. So it's weird for me. I get nauseous because I'm not in control. I'm out of control. And when you go and when you come up that bank and you hug the wall and I'm trying to get in the seat with you because I'm scared, you know, I'm going, we gonna hit the wall. And just though it's an experience that I can't explain, that people would have to experience for themselves to get a better understanding. And the road. The road is called the road course, right?
Ryan Blaney
Yes, sir.
Ocho
That's. That. That threw me for a loop. I was done. I was done.
Ryan Blaney
Yeah.
Ocho
I was done. Yeah.
Chad Johnson
Were you at walking, Glenn? Let's know. Where were you at?
Ryan Blaney
We were at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Joe
Yeah.
Ryan Blaney
So we did the big track at Indianapolis. That's been around for over 100 years.
Chad Johnson
Okay. Yeah.
Ryan Blaney
And then they have a road course in the middle of it. So we got two different types of racetracks that we took Chad on.
Chad Johnson
Oh, okay.
Ryan Blaney
Yeah. So we got them.
Chad Johnson
Yeah. Because I was like, you can't get up there.
Ryan Blaney
No.
Chad Johnson
170 on the one.
Ryan Blaney
No. So we got the 170 on the big track at Indy.
Chad Johnson
Okay.
Ryan Blaney
Yeah. And then we did the road course, which were probably top speed, only 150, but it's a lot more intense, a lot of deceleration, a lot more current hits, you know? Yeah. So, Shannon, we got to get you in that car, man.
Chad Johnson
You think I can feel? Yeah.
Ryan Blaney
Hell, yeah.
Chad Johnson
All right, well, I'm down here. No, I grew up.
Ocho
You're not going to make it, man.
Chad Johnson
You. Man, look here.
Joe
Hey, hey, Ryan, you grew.
Chad Johnson
Look, you're a third generation. Your grandfather drove cars. Your father drove cars. And a lot of these drivers, a lot of these. Either their grandfather, you know, you like children. His grandchild, his grandson, drives a lot of these. You know, you grew up around. What was it like growing up in a household where your grandfather, your father drove? Is that what you always wanted to do?
Ryan Blaney
Yeah. Well, as a kid, I just wanted to do what my dad did, yeah, like, I was. My dad was my hero. My dad is still my hero to this day. So growing up around, watching my dad do a sport that was really unique, I just. I was just in awe of these drivers, like, what they could do. And as a kid growing up around that, I got to see all the ins and outs of the sport. You know, not only the cars on the racetrack, but what it took behind the scenes, right? What. What goes on in a race shop, how many people it takes to build these cars. I feel like the behind the scenes thing, it's the same as football or basketball or whatever. There's a lot more that goes on behind the scenes than what you see on tv. Right. It takes a lot of parts and pieces to get everything ready to go. So I got to see that as a young kid. But I was really lucky that I got to do what my dad did, because that's just what I always wanted to do and been really fortunate to be able to make a career out of it.
Joe
Hey, Ryan, what was your first race like? Like, was it jittery? Were you fired up? Like butterflies? Like, what was it like?
Ryan Blaney
Man, I. My first race was. I was nine years old. So I. I didn't really understand, you know, at the time, when you were a kid, it was just something fun to do. But I remember my first professional race when I was 18, like, in the first kind of stepping stones in NASCAR. I was nervous. This can be because, you know, I had my people who watch my dad. I'm trying to live up to my dad's expectations, to people's expectations of me. It was a lot of pressure, that's for sure. But I tried to think of it as, hey, this is a great opportunity, and make the most out of this awesome opportunity that you have, you know, and enjoy it and have fun with it. That's easy to say 12 years later.
Joe
Right.
Ryan Blaney
But at the time. At the time, it's really hard to do. So that's why I, you know, when I see these kids who have fathers or mothers that were in the sport that they want to do and the pressure that people put on them, I completely understand that. Completely understand, right?
Chad Johnson
How hard is it for you not to get a speeding ticket when you drive fast for a living?
Ryan Blaney
Contrary to popular belief, I think most race car drivers, I can't speak for most of them, but me in particular, I'm a very slow driver on the roads. Serious, very slow driver.
Chad Johnson
Really.
Ryan Blaney
If we got to get somewhere fast, my wife is like, let me drive because she is the speed demon. So, I mean, I'm pretty slow. I'm pretty slow driver on the roads. I get paid to go really fast for my job, and it does not benefit me whatsoever to go fast on the streets.
Ocho
You know what, and the fact that you, You. You go fast for a living. Do you have a passion or do you have any enthusiasm about having fast cars, foreign cars, Ferraris, Lamborghinis? Are you really into that stuff, being that you. You normally drive slow when you. When you're not on the track?
Ryan Blaney
Yeah, I mean, I am. I am kind of a car collector. You know, I just enjoy vehicles. My. My dream car.
Chad Johnson
You got the 427 car.
Ryan Blaney
No, I don't.
Ocho
I don't.
Ryan Blaney
I'll tell you, my, My dream car, and it's. The only reason I have this dream car is when Bad Boys 2 came out and Will Smith, Mike Lowry was driving the Ferrari Maranello 550. I thought that was the coolest part ever. So that is my dream car, and I've been looking for one that's silver, the exact same color that he had in that movie. I've been looking for it for years and I cannot find it, but hopefully one day I get to get it.
Chad Johnson
Yeah, but you think about Ryan. You got. You got the Eleanor Mustang that you could get. You got the. You got the. The shelf, you got the shell. I mean, I understand the Shelby, the.
Ryan Blaney
The truck.
Chad Johnson
You got the Riley's truck, man, you got. I mean, you got so much. They came out with this Ford, this supercar. I don't think they make it anymore. You remember the supercar? They came out with about 10, 15.
Ryan Blaney
It was the GT, wasn't it? The GT, yeah.
Chad Johnson
Ford GT. That's exactly what I'm talking about. What are you talking about?
Ryan Blaney
Yeah, so they. Yeah, so the GT was big. Like in the 60s. They ran the ball with it, and then they came out with another one in like, oh, five. And then they came out with a new version of it in like, 16, 17. And we. So I drive for Ford, right. So they gave all the four drivers an option to buy one in 16. And it was my rookie year. I wasn't making any money. I could not. I could not justify. It was one of those things, too. Look back on it, you're like, you're an idiot for not getting one of them things. But, man, I couldn't do it. I couldn't fork it out back then. Couldn't do it.
Ocho
Matter of fact. Matter of fact, the car you're looking For. What's it called again? What's your dream car?
Ryan Blaney
It's a Ferrari Maranello 550. Marc.
Ocho
Okay, okay, okay. Listen. I got a friend of mine down here in Miami. We call him Nunu. And I got another friend named Leroy. They can get me whatever.
Ryan Blaney
All right?
Ocho
I could probably find you that car and get you a little half off, get you a little discount on it. So I'm gonna check in with them tomorrow.
Ryan Blaney
I like discounts.
Chad Johnson
You probably don't want to be called in that car. You don't want to be caught in the car that no got you. Right.
Ryan Blaney
I'm just telling you I'm gonna be taking it to the shop every week. That's not good.
Joe
N it ain't gonna have no V number on that dog.
Chad Johnson
You just gonna get stopped one time and they gonna be taking you to the shop. They gonna take you to another shop on August 21st.
Ryan Blaney
What's your plan?
Chad Johnson
I want vengeance. No one does action movies. We got a problem on the ship. But like Jason Statham, well, you'll need all the help you can get.
Ryan Blaney
Mutiny.
Chad Johnson

Ryan Blaney
Oh man.
Chad Johnson
So you start. So Ryan, you started off with the mids.
Ryan Blaney
Yeah.
Chad Johnson
You drop. You started out driving.
Ryan Blaney
Yeah, they were, they're called quarter midgets. They're a go kart with a roll cage on them. They were really big where I was growing up. So there's a good, it's a great place for kids to start. Quarter midgets go karts. You know, gosh, I see kids nowadays, 5 years old starting.
Chad Johnson
Yeah.
Ryan Blaney
Really young. Yeah, it's crazy man. But, but I've also seen kids that, you know, they don't start racing until they're 12 or 13, you know, so it's, there's a large age gap of when you can get going. Yeah.
Chad Johnson
But let me ask you a question. How many horsepower? Cuz my brother had a go kart we growing up and he only had. My grandfather would only let me get a, a three horsepower. But you know, they had a three horsepower, they had a five, they had a eight. And then it went on up after that. And like my grandfather, like, nah, you ain't getting anything. Yeah, yeah.
Ryan Blaney
I mean there's all ranges, right? Like you said, 3, 5, 8. Gosh. They make 20 horsepower carts nowadays that are fast. Right on a. Wow.
Chad Johnson
Yeah, yeah, because we felt three horsepower moving.
Ryan Blaney
You're whipping those horses. Three of them, they're moving.
Chad Johnson
But go ahead, you got a bunch of accolades. You won the Cup Series All Star Race winner. What, what's been your proudest? What's your biggest achievement thus far?
Ryan Blaney
I mean, I think when we won the championship in 23, you know, a few years ago, that was a cool experience. And you know, I talked about my dad earlier and to have my whole family there. I mean my, my dad, my mom, my sisters who supported me the whole time, who still do, like for them to share that moment was, was great. And especially my dad who was around the sport for a long time, who never got to achieve that. And you know, I'm a dad now, my son's nine months old and I could only imagine, you know, being a dad now, like if he picks the
Chad Johnson
sport up like you do.
Ryan Blaney
And I hope he's way more successful than I am. You know, I think just to be proud of your son and to see your dad proud of you, because that's all I ever wanted to do. I just wanted to make my dad proud. You know, whether it was professionally or in my life. You know, you just want to make your parents proud. And it was cool to share that moment with them because he and I shared a lot of the same similarities from, from racing.
Chad Johnson
Right? Who, who's the rival? Like when I. I don't know if you remember this, but your dad would, your dad would remember it. It's like when you had Cale Yarborough and the Allison was going at each other and Richard Petty and, and Daryl Waltripp and these guys, like they, it felt, I don't know if it was contrived, but it just felt like, nah, bro, if I can't win, I'm not going to let you win. I'm going to put your ass into the wall you not winning this race
Ad Voice 5
in front of me.
Ryan Blaney
And it's, it's changed a lot. You know, I Mean, just like everything, it's changed and it's gotten. I feel like all sports have gotten really commercialized. Right. I mean, and that's just how it is because you have big companies back in, you know, the teams or the. Or whatever, the drivers. So, you know. Yeah, back in. Like you said. I mean, the Allison's and the Yarbrough fight was what put NASCAR on the map. Those guys just throwing haymakers
Chad Johnson
won the race.
Ryan Blaney
So I think there's some of that nowadays still, but I don't think you're going to see that stuff is what it used to be. But it's just because, you know, there's a lot on the line. But yeah, maybe one day, hell, I might just have to start throwing haymakers. I don't know.
Chad Johnson
Before we. We got to get him on this one. Anyway, I'll let you. We have a little series, what we call cut bench start. So, like football, we'll be like a Jerry Rice, a Terrell Otans, and a Randy Moss. So it's not anything easy. So we gave you the hardest we possibly could get. You got Dale Senior, Richard Petty, Jimmy Johnson. You got to start somebody, you got to bench somebody. You got to cut.
Ryan Blaney
Yeah, you didn't make it easy.
Ocho
That's a good one, man.
Ryan Blaney
I'm gonna start. I'm gonna start Dale Senior. I'm gonna bench Jimmy Johnson. I'm going to cut Richard Petty. I know I'm going to get grief no matter what I say, but.
Chad Johnson
Yeah, because all I've got.
Ryan Blaney
You gave me the best, guys. That's ridiculous. Yeah, yeah. That's my pick.
Chad Johnson
But Rich. But you know what? Richard had the best, Those cars where he had the Cudas and. Oh, my. Can you imagine? Can you imagine if he, like, like some of those cars were to come up for auction? Richard paired the 43, the Superbird.
Ryan Blaney
Oh, man.
Chad Johnson
The Barrack. The Barrack. The Cooters and the Barracudas. Can you imagine what they would be worth?
Ryan Blaney
Millions. Millions of dollars. I mean, those, those. You know, back in that day, in the 60s and 70s, there was so much innovation going on, Right. You know, there was no technology. It was just really smart people doing incredibly imaginative things, you know, and that just blows me away. You know, today it's all computers and technology and stuff, but back then, it was just. It was just guys and girls who just had huge imaginations that just tried stuff, and if it sucked, they threw it away and they'd go in a different direction. But like that, that level of just ingenuity to me in motorsports back then was just unbelievable. And the Petties caught on before everyone else did, and that's why they were so successful at mopar. Yeah.
Chad Johnson
Go ahead, Ocho.
Ocho
Say, outside of racing, obviously, I know it takes up a lot of your life, just like all of us in general with our respective crafts. It's a lot of sacrifice and a lot of time that has to be put in to be as good as you are. Outside of that, you got to have passions. You have to be enthusiastic about something else that gives you a sense of, okay, now I can. I can relax and do something to get away from the game. It's a sense of peace for me. It's cigars and gaming. What's your. What's your outlet?
Ryan Blaney
Well, for the last nine months, it's been my son, you know, that has been the world changer of world changers. You know, it's something that my wife and I have even grown closer.
Joe
Yeah.
Ryan Blaney
As our son has come in the world, no matter how shitty my weekend was, you come home and see your son smiling, that he's just happy you're there, you know, and that changes your. Your mood immediately. Other than that, I'm a big golfer. I love to play golf. It's really peaceful to me. I know people get angry at golf, but I love the mentality of golf, like, slowing it down, being really thoughtful because it's just you, you know, you're not playing against anybody else. It's just you and the shot that you can make. So I've always enjoyed that. And we have a lot of animals. I like, I like hanging around with our animals. We have dogs and chickens and llamas and goats and.
Joe
Okay.
Ryan Blaney
I just like watching. Yeah. We got a little farm, and I, I. Every animal is different. I like watching their different personalities.
Ocho
Right.
Ryan Blaney
And I just sit down there in the morning with my coffee and just watch them because I think it's the funniest thing in the world. Yeah.
Ocho
I told you. I told you. We. Joe and I, we talked about, like, we don't have a farm, but we talked about certain animals that we want. And Joe wants to get a capuchin monkey, and I want to get a hyena.
Ryan Blaney
Oh, yeah.
Joe
You took you for a loop.
Ryan Blaney
Yeah. Yeah.
Ocho
I mean, you know, you can. You can domesticate a hyena, so I'm.
Ryan Blaney
I didn't know that. Yeah, I don't think he didn't. Yeah. I don't think Steve Irwin ever told us that. I don't.
Joe
Yeah.
Ocho
Listen, it's the first time for everything, so I'm gonna try.
Joe
All right.
Chad Johnson
Marlon Perkins was before your time in Wild Kingdom, but he couldn't admit you can't domesticate no hyena. What type of dogs do you have?
Ryan Blaney
I have a lab Shepherd. He's about 80 pounds. And then my wife's dog, she adopted her. She's. We don't really know what she is. She adopted her. My wife grew up in South Florida, and she was a rescue from Puerto Rico. So she's a Puerto Rican street dog. Oh, we don't really know what she is because she's a scratchy little thing, right? Yeah. But a hyena and a capuchin monkey, that's. You got to be careful with monkeys. I knew some people who had. They didn't have capuchins, though. They had chips. No. They had chimps.
Chad Johnson
No. You can't get them.
Ryan Blaney
And chimps are bad news.
Joe
Yeah.
Ryan Blaney
They'll turn on you.
Joe
Yeah, that's what I heard.
Ryan Blaney
Yeah. But a capuchin, I think, is small enough, and I think they're. They're kind enough where I think you'd be all right.
Chad Johnson
Yeah. Yeah. Because you got to realize the chimpanzee, when you hear about the story where they done ate the woman's face and they nailed it off and things like that, because they get. Because you got to realize people start feeding them human food, and they get bigger than what they actually would be from just eating. Now, they will. They'll kill animals in the wild. They'll eat meat. You know, they're survivalists, but normally they're eating, you know, leaves and stuff like that. But you start feeding them protein, and they get. They get. All of a sudden, they're 100. So you think about how. How strong that animal is in the wild and you feeding him, you're not going to be able to handle him. I don't want anything. I'm more. I'm more simple, Ryan. I want a raccoon. I want a highland. I want a Highland, like a cow or a pony or one of those pygmy goats, something like that.
Joe
He wants something simple. A raccoon.
Interviewer
Yeah.
Joe
Nobody had no pet raccoon.
Ad Voice 1
Yeah.
Chad Johnson
I might need to move to Tennessee because they made it real easy for you to be able to adopt raccoons. So I might have to pick up and move to Tennessee.
Joe
What's up with you and the raccoon, though?
Chad Johnson
I just want one, man. They just seem so fun.
Ocho
Well, why can't. Why can't I have hyena? Hyena seem fun?
Chad Johnson
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. He gonna be laughing. He gonna be tearing you up. Nah, I'm good. I don't want anything. Anything that can eat me, I want no part of that. Ryan, That's.
Ocho
That's why you gotta have them from when they're a cub. Huh? You gotta have them from when they're a cub. When they're.
Chad Johnson
It don't matter.
Joe
Yeah.
Chad Johnson
Ron, let me ask you this. What is it that people get wrong about nascar? Because when you hear about athletes, you know, you talk about football players, you talk about basketball, you talk about all these sports that seems to be where you use it physical. You're running, you're jumping, and you're doing all this. What did they get wrong about being a nascar?
Ryan Blaney
Yeah, yeah. That's a big stipulation that we have to deal with all the time. Right. We're not athletes. And Stephen A's all over the place board talking that we're not athletes, stuff like that. And I. I think people get that thought because they drive cars every day. Drive cars to work, drive cars. They're like, oh, it's the same thing. And it's. It's just. It's not right. Like, the thing I love about racing is you are trying to find the edge of control without stepping over it, you know, and if you step over it, they're going to crash and just going to be a really big crash. So it's all about feel and the physical side to it. You know, we're not the biggest guys. I'm a small guy. Most of us are pretty small guys. I think every sport has its own physical attributes that you have, whether it's basketball or football or soccer, you know, in racing, it's a lot of endurance, you know, Heck, we raced yesterday in Iowa and I lost. I lost eight pounds yesterday. I weigh 150 pounds. I don't have a lot of weight to lose, so it's a lot.
Joe
How do y' all lose so much weight?
Ryan Blaney
It's just hot. Like, so whatever the temperature is outside, add 35 to the cars.
Joe
Oh, okay.
Ryan Blaney
So it's just hot in the cars. So it's all. It's normally.
Chad Johnson
You hate Texas and baby.
Ryan Blaney
Yeah, they suck. Yeah, those are these summer races. They get. They get hot, man. And so it's just a constant. So we do do a lot of endurance training. Yeah, a lot of kind of core shoulder strength. That's kind of what it takes. But, yeah, I just, you know, and not a lot of people have done it ever because it's not as an accessible sport as other sports.
Joe
Right.
Ryan Blaney
You know, and I hate that I, I wish it was more accessible to everybody, to where you could go, even drive a, drive a go cart. Yeah, everything costs money.
Chad Johnson
It costs money. Rider on them.
Ryan Blaney
Yeah. You know, and I hate that because I wish that more people had access to do it because they could really get a feel for it. But yeah, I, I just think it's, it's an unfortunate stigma that we have, but it's there.
Chad Johnson
So, I mean, think about it. You're going, you, you mentioned you and Ocho was going, but you're going, you're going 170, 180 all up. There's 190 miles an hour. And before they got the restricted place, you going over 200. I remember the cl. The cars literally take it off. Yeah, I remember those before they had those restricted plates. And the down, the down in the back is that you? But you like this close. You're like in rush hour traffic and you got 43 cars going on excess of 170 miles an hour and you're this close to the guy.
Ryan Blaney
Yeah. And that's another step. You know, everyone asks, you know, they're like, is it hard to be a race car driver? I was like, well, no, you could drive my race car if you wanted to. But the difficulties is 40 other guys being out there, you know, and trying to beat them and, and race around them. Like. So racecraft racing around guys is different than just going and making laps, you know, so that's where it comes in. You know, it's the same thing as shooting jumpers in the gym by yourself compared to if you got pressure on you, you know, it's a little bit different, you know, atmosphere. So
Chad Johnson
what's your favorite track? I mean, growing up, I love, I love when guys wear the Daytona. Obviously you start your super bowl, most people, the super bowl, their championship is at the end of the year. Your championship is at the beginning of the year, the Daytona. And I love Talladega. And then all of a sudden, you know, you got the big tracks at Texas and you got Indy. So what's your favorite track to run?
Ryan Blaney
So I grew up just south of Martinsville, Virginia. Little tiny track, little half mile racetrack. You know, Daytona is two and a half miles for people watching. Yeah, Martinsville is a half mile. So super small. But I remember just watching races there as, as a kid watching my dad race. Bristol is another great one. Little half mile, really, really fast, cool racetrack. Looks like a big football stadium there's stands 360 degrees around Martinsville. Has one of the coolest trophies that we have. It's an old grandfather clock. Yeah. So yeah, the trophies is a pretty cool thing in our sport you get if you win. So I'd say those two are probably my. Probably my favorites. But nothing beats the Daytona 500. I mean it is the coolest event ever.
Ocho
I've been.
Chad Johnson
And in Charlotte. Charlotte's the new. New. The new one that's came come out. What, the last. What, you've been running Charlotte for about 30 years now?
Ryan Blaney
Oh, gosh. Yeah. Probably more than that. Yeah, probably 30, 40 years. Yeah.
Ocho
You know, I think that'd be a good thing too. Is. Is Daytona has been one of my areas when I meet someone new and I want to do something different that I know they've never done before. I've been to Daytona a few times. Charlotte Motor. Charlotte Motor Speedway and down in Homestead as well. Because that's that. That experience in itself for those who've never been to a NASCAR race, that's something that you have to put in your bucket list and go enjoy. And it's one of those things you can't explain. You have to go in the environment and get a better understanding for it to actually enjoy and to see how awesome it is.
Chad Johnson
Hey.
Joe
Yeah, right. Hey. Hey, Ryan, you think I'll fit in the car? I'm six eight, bro. You think I'll fit in one of them cars?
Ryan Blaney
Yes, sir. We'll get you in one. Yeah, yeah. We'll have to have you out. We'll get you doing what Chad did.
Ocho
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Ryan Blaney
I love that.
Ocho
Take him on that road course. Yeah.
Chad Johnson
Please make sure. Hey, hey, Ryan. They got diapers to feel the 68 guy. Cause he gonna poop himself when you get close to that wall. When you get up on that bank. When that bank. Hey, hey.
Ryan Blaney
That's what I tried to do when, you know, Chad came out, had a couple other guys. My whole goal for that day was to try to make somebody themselves. That was. That was my goal.
Chad Johnson
Hey, hey, hey.
Joe
Hold up. But quiet is kept though, Ryan. Oo, look, he sure looks scared in that car now. I ain't gonna lie to you, boy. I see you holding on.
Chad Johnson
Whoa, whoa.
Joe
Yeah.
Ocho
Hey, hey, Joe boy, you know how fast 170 is when you not the one driving. I already know I'm not not being in control. You know what I feel like for people in the chat to give you a better example. If you ever want an airplane, right, and you hit a. You hit Heavy turbulence.
Joe
What's the first thing you do?
Ocho
Because you're not. You're not.
Interviewer
You're not in control.
Ocho
If I was driving, I'd be cool. The fact that I. I'm not the first. I'm leaning all the way over. I'm grabbing onto to the rails the best way I can.
Ryan Blaney
Yeah. And. And when we were on the oval, the big track, you were sitting right side.
Ocho
Yeah.
Ryan Blaney
On the right seat. You're a lot closer to that wall than I am.
Chad Johnson
Oh, yeah, you were. Hey, what'd you do? You close your eyes?
Ocho
No, no, no.
Ad Voice 3
I'm.
Ocho
I'm. I was screaming, Joe. I was screaming. Yeah. My eyes wide open, boy.
Chad Johnson
Matter of fact, what it's like, Blip.
Ocho
I had the opportunity to drive in Daytona. You know, in Daytona, Uncle Joe, you can drive on the track in a car by yourself, and you have someone in your ear now. They don't let you right away. They warm you up like a governor, in a sense. They won't let you go over a certain mile an hour until you do a few laps, and they allow you to go faster and faster. So I kind of did it a little bit, but nothing to the speed and what we went. So I'm already a speed demon in a sense. But, man, it's a different atmosphere riding with a professional driver, man.
Chad Johnson
Well, see, I'm good. Cause I ridden in the Thunderbirds, and those planes be going. They going 700 miles an hour. And they got you on your side. They got you on your back, man.
Ryan Blaney
When did you do the Thunderbirds?
Chad Johnson
2000 and 2006. 2006.
Ryan Blaney
Yeah, I'm good. I got to. I got to do those guys my rookie year. So it was probably 20s, 10 years ago. That was the wildest experience I have ever had in my life.
Chad Johnson
Boy, look here, It's. I mean, I feel. I feel like I had played a game. I mean, you exhausted after they bring you down, all the. All that G's. And you gotta be careful. Cause you'll pass out upon taking off. You know, they rolling that. They rolling that plane. I said, oh, man.
Ryan Blaney
You know what? You know the worst part about r. The Thunderbirds was, is you're. You're dying, right? You're struggling to stay awake, and these dudes are just talking to you the whole time while they're flying, like, normal. Like, you're like. We're having the conversation right now. They're like, all right, we're gonna do this. And they're yanking on that Y.
Chad Johnson
That's the exact.
Ryan Blaney
It made Me feel so bad about myself.
Chad Johnson
I'm like, man, stop talking. Ryan, what's it been like, you know, Michael K. Michael. Michael Jordan, obviously the probably the most recognizable sports figure in the world today, outside of Messi and Ronaldo. But to have him, that guy, what he was in basketball, to come to your sport and to bring that level of competition and, and to see what the, the 23 XL and what is what they've been able to do. What has that meant for yourself?
Ryan Blaney
It's been huge that Michael has shown such an interest in racing and nascar. It's been an absolute pleasure to get to know him over the last handful of years. He's an unbelievable human being and he loves, he loves racing. He goes to a lot more races than people realize. He probably goes to two thirds of the races and just. And knows everything. I've watched some, like, lower series races with him trucks and Xfinity, and he knows every single driver. He knows what the strategy is. He knows pit stops. He knows everything. It would shock you how much of a fan that he is. And so I just think it is, you know, as a competitor and I race against his team, but I love it. Like, I fully appreciate what he does for the sport, you know, so it's a pleasure that we get to have him as an owner because I think he's doing nothing but good for our sport. And like I said, as a fan of his for a long time, growing up with my dad, being a fan of his, it's like a dream come true just to get to know him and be able to talk to him and for him to know who I am, come up to me and slap my butt and say, good job. Like, that means a lot, man. That's cool. Yeah.
Chad Johnson
Yeah. You're from Ohio. Bengals or Browns?
Ryan Blaney
You know, it's, it's, it's been a heartbreak no matter who it is, the last few years. I say I'm more, I grew up closer to Cincinnati than I did. So, yeah, Chad, I'm, you know, I know I watched, I was a fan. I watched the Browns or Bengals when you were playing with them. So I, I, I'm more of a Bengals fan and I live in Charlotte now, so I watch Bengals in Carolina. But yeah, yeah, hopefully this year, you know, Heck Panthers made the playoffs last year. They actually look pretty decent. Yeah, I think, I think Bryce is getting pretty good and I'm just hoping that Burrow can stay healthy and we'll see, we'll see where that goes.
Chad Johnson
Yeah, you've, you had some Great races against Kyle Busch, and unfortunately he passed away. What do you. What do you remember most about Kyle?
Ryan Blaney
Yeah, man, just an unbelievable competitor. I grew up admiring Kyle, and I grew up racing with him in lower ranks. He would come down and race local short tracks, you know, when I was super young. And I really got to watch him on Sundays and then sometimes race against him during the week. And I think Kyle is going to go down in the NASCAR history books as one of the best drivers the sport has ever seen. And I said this a while ago, that there's nobody that would make you feel less adequate as a competitor than Kyle Busch because he could do things that you just didn't think were possible, but you'd watch him do it. You're like, man, I can. I can do that. And you just could never do it. It was just a. It's such a talented human being and. And getting to know him personally was a great guy, was a great family man, you know, So I. I just feel for his wife and his children, you know, that. That he got taken away from them and. And he will forever be a staple of our sport. So that. That's been a tough one for everybody, you know, the last few months since he's passed. And it just shows you that life is fickle and you never know what's going to happen next. But he's. He was an amazing competitor. And honestly, for me, it was an absolute honor to share the track with him, you know, for the years that I got to. Because as someone I like, I said admired growing up, that's all I wanted to do is race with those guys that, that I loved watching and was a fan of, and I got the privilege to do that.
Ocho
Right.
Chad Johnson
We're gonna get you ahead of. We're gonna get you here, get you out of here on this. What's your best story of winning a race? What do you do after you win a race?
Ryan Blaney
Celebrate. You celebrate a lot, man. Yeah.
Chad Johnson
Beer, wine.
Ryan Blaney
I'm a. I'm a bourbon drinker.
Chad Johnson
Okay.
Ryan Blaney
I enjoy bourbon. My wife got me into wine makers.
Chad Johnson
Mark Woodford.
Ryan Blaney
I'm a big. I like Woodford. I like Elijah Craig. I like Blanton's. I like Stag. Stag's one of my favorites.
Chad Johnson
Okay. Yeah.
Ryan Blaney
If you want some high octane, Stag is. Stag's the way to go. I'm actually, tonight, I don't. I don't want to plug anything on your show, but I'm drinking my bourbon tonight. 10 runner.
Chad Johnson
Okay.
Ryan Blaney
Okay. You know, this is so. This is our bourbon. We just made it last year, so we're just starting out, but, yeah, that's been my. It's been a fun project because I'm a big bourbon guy, and I wanted to get into the world.
Chad Johnson
You know what? I'm. I'm in the spirits industry, but it's. And it's a. It's a lot harder than people think people, because of the three tier system, they think you just produce it and you can take it to the stores. It doesn't like. It's not like that. You got to find distributors, and you got to go to do the. The GSMs, and you gotta. Hey, you gotta be. You got to be all hands.
Ryan Blaney
What spirit do you have?
Chad Johnson
I have a con.
Ryan Blaney
Okay.
Chad Johnson
Called Shayball Courtier.
Ryan Blaney
Is it in the ABC stores or where's it at?
Chad Johnson
Yeah, absolutely. Yeah, we got. We indoor. I think we're in North Carolina. But guess what? We'll get you something. I'll get you.
Ryan Blaney
I'm gonna send you some of mine. Yes, sir.
Chad Johnson
Appreciate you. Ryan Blaney, thank you for joining us this afternoon. Well, tonight, we appreciate you staying up late.
Ryan Blaney
Yeah, no problem. I thank you guys for having me on. I'm a big fan of all three of y', all, so it was a pleasure to talk to y'.

Honestly, no one wants to think about hiv, but there are things that everyone can do to help prevent it. Things like prep. PREP stands for pre exposure prophylaxis, and it means routinely taking prescription medicine before you're exposed to HIV to help reduce your chances of getting it. Prep can be about 99% effective when taken as prescribed. It doesn't protect against other STIs, though, so be sure to use condoms and other healthy sex practices.
