Yes, sir. Yes, sir.
Joe Hayden
The Deebo and Joe show was popping. The Deebo and Joe show right now is popping.
James Deebo Harrison
Please welcome. Please welcome the. The outside linebackers for the Pittsburgh Steelers. On my right here, we have Alex Highsmith. On my left here, we have TJ Swat Watt. Drop it like it's hot.
Joe Hayden
Talk to him nicely.
James Deebo Harrison
How y' all boys doing today, man?
TJ Watt
Great, man, for that introduction.
Joe Hayden
Come on, man. Gotta be coming.
James Deebo Harrison
Listen, that's nothing. When you come on the show solo, I got a real one for you. I got a real one for you, baby. It's crucial, man. Look here, man. We done. We done came up here, and we obviously picked the worst two days to come up here because we didn't get all that great scenery, you know, to get.
TJ Watt
Yeah.
James Deebo Harrison
That background to watch y' all go out there and just sweat like dogs
Joe Hayden
and, you know, just.
James Deebo Harrison
Just work out. Y' all got, what, two days of indoor. Y' all ain't really did nothing. Y' all ain't did no work.
Joe Hayden
Take care of my guys. Out the gym.
James Deebo Harrison
Look here, man, I'm gonna tell you this just from being up here the last, you know, couple days. It's.
Undrafted Running Back
It's.
James Deebo Harrison
It's a. It's a little bit of changes going on. How you dealing with the changes, trying
TJ Watt
to adapt as well as possible. I think in leadership roles like we are, you have to kind of embrace the change and not be that guy that just says, well, we used to do things this way. This is dumb, because we used to do this way. So I think that's been a big emphasis for us is to, you know, what we were doing before was great, but we have a new guy, new staff, new everything. So we're just trying to embrace as much as possible and be leaders.
Joe Hayden
How you feel about that?
Alex Highsmith
Just same thing. Just like TJ said, you know, we got to embrace this change, and as leaders, we got to be the ones to drive the culture. You know, it's a new culture. And so we just got to continue to get guys, the young guys, to buy in, you know, get all the vets to buy in as well. New guys coming in. So I like the way things are going. I think we're building every single day.
James Deebo Harrison
Yeah, you get the best of buy in, and, you know, they, they, they, they. They do it. And then, you know, the guys further on down the line, they follow through. I'm not gonna lie. A lot of the changes that I've seen, I like. Yeah, And I understand what a lot of guys were talking about. And, oh, this change. That change. Da, da, da, da. And not really saying what it is, but what it is, is a lot more. It's business. It's 100% business right now. This man is not.
Joe Hayden
He ain't.
James Deebo Harrison
Yeah, he ain't.
Undrafted Running Back 2
He ain't.
James Deebo Harrison
He ain't cutting no corner right now. And to think about it, you wasn't here when Coach T first came first. When Coach T first came in, bro, that man worked us like dogs. Like, we lost to Jacksonville in the first round of the playoffs, bro, at home. Because, like, we were just beat up from the whole year.
TJ Watt
Yeah.
James Deebo Harrison
You know what I'm saying? So the new regime, the changeover, I like what I'm seeing because it makes you sit back and be like, you know what? The whole everything outside is just straight business. It ain't take your kid to work every day. It's family day is family day, and your family over there. You know what I'm saying? We wasn't over there because we're considered media, so we had to go into the red box.
ChatGPT Advertiser
Oh, yeah.
James Deebo Harrison
Hey, listen, I was like, okay, credentialed up.
Joe Hayden
Yeah, credentialed up for sure.
James Deebo Harrison
Where's your cats? Red box. You gotta be over there. Oh, okay. We gone. Cool.
Undrafted Running Back
I like it.
Joe Hayden
I respect it, though, man. Sometimes you got people all in the way. Y' all got a job to do. It's real. It's training camp time.
TJ Watt
It's fascinating, though, because you now you can see a different side. There's so many different ways to skin a cat and be successful at the same time. So that's the fascinating thing about just change in general.
Alex Highsmith
Yeah, no doubt.
Joe Hayden
How do y' all feel about coach Grant Graham, the new defensive coordinator?
Alex Highsmith
Yeah, I'm loving it so far. I think PG he comes in with a lot of energy. You know, he's got a passion for this game for sure. And he's won Super Bowls. He knows what it's like to win. So I think it's been awesome. And like I said, a lot of dudes are buying into his defense and his vision for the defense. And like I said, it's just about us being as leaders, bringing in the young guys and bringing those guys along and really, you know, leading the charge in that way. But, you know, we definitely like him. You know, like I said, he brings a lot of energy, especially in meetings. Every meeting, you know, comes in with the same energy. He's the same self.
Joe Hayden
Love that.
James Deebo Harrison
Yeah, I like that. I Like that. Is it anything that he has given you? Like, tj, You've been in the league for a minute now. What you want? Nine, ten?
TJ Watt
Yeah.
James Deebo Harrison
Is it any nuggets that he's dropped to you that you're like, you know what? That's something that I never thought about that you can actually use now to help improve or.
TJ Watt
I think he's really good at allowing us to have free freedom on certain plays. Like, there's plays that are on the whiteboard. It says you can't do this, you can't do that. But he's like, hey, in this situation, you can't be under. You're allowed to do stuff. Like, he builds it in. And I really appreciate that. I think we're changing personnel a lot more, and when we change more personnels, it changes where we go in the line of scrimmage. So you have to know more than just what the left outside linebacker, Right outside linebacker doing. So I think it's gonna allow us to be way more versatile as a D defense as a whole, honestly.
James Deebo Harrison
Yeah, that was a lot that, you know, with. With Dick LeBeau's defense when you came in, coach, the bowl's defense. I don't even know if you didn't come in on Christmas.
TJ Watt
No, no, you didn't.
James Deebo Harrison
So if you had came under close to the bow, like, how the defense was, is like, you could have six defenses that look exactly the same.
TJ Watt
Yeah.
James Deebo Harrison
And of those six defenses, you could be lined up in the same spot. Three of them you may be blitzing, three of them you may be dropping. And then in that whole, like you said, that whole. That whole nuance, you. You had things where you could. You would allow. You know what I'm saying?
TJ Watt
Exactly.
James Deebo Harrison
And then you had things that. It's like, yo, you can't do this. I don't care, you know, what have you.
TJ Watt
Yeah, yeah.
James Deebo Harrison
So I like. I like the mindset.
TJ Watt
Unless.
James Deebo Harrison
Right. Hey, hey. Everything changes on the sideline. Like, B boy, what you doing?
Joe Hayden
You drop.
Sports Event Announcer
No, no.
James Deebo Harrison
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Alex Highsmith
You get that second, they ain't gonna say nothing.
TJ Watt
Absolutely.
Peter (Pdub)
Yeah.
James Deebo Harrison
Yeah, man. For sure.
Joe Hayden
What are some of your goals, though, this year for you, Highsmith?
Alex Highsmith
Yeah, I mean, obviously, first and foremost, super bowl is obviously number one. You know, obviously, we've. We've got to the playoffs, you know, a lot, you know, since I've been here, every single. Almost every single year. And so, you know, when we get there, we know we got to execute and we know the type of team that we have to be able to make that run. So for us, I think it's. Once that time comes, once we get to that playoff time, really got to lock in on the details and play our bit. You got to be playing our best football going into the playoffs. And so, like I said, I know we have the team to do it, so we just got to continue to build, continue to get after it every single day.
Joe Hayden
Yep, yep, yep, yep.
James Deebo Harrison
Hey, tj, you remember what she told me? Why? You were like. We were like, yo, man, we should. We should get your brother over here. And you were like, yeah, yeah, yeah. But yeah, you was like, I don't know about that because it'll be. It'll be 2 watts on there and it'll be a J. Watt.
Amazon Health AI Advertiser
Yeah.
TJ Watt
In college, I had to freaking. They wanted me to do that too, because me and Derek were on the same team.
Joe Hayden
Yeah.
James Deebo Harrison
What would it spell out, tj?
TJ Watt
T. Watt.
Alex Highsmith
Yeah.
Undrafted Running Back
Watt.
James Deebo Harrison
We ain't doing that.
Joe Hayden
You was good on that.
James Deebo Harrison
We're not doing that. He was like, no, it can't happen, man. He's like, I had to do it in college, man.
Joe Hayden
He's like, I had to do it.
James Deebo Harrison
That's funny.
Joe Hayden
But, T, I got some things to ask you too. But I see you've been into the of fashion with your life, with your wife. What's going on with that Abercrombie? Abercrombie. Shout out.
TJ Watt
A great partnership with them the last two years. Just trying to pick partnerships that make sense to me. And anytime I can bring my wife and we can do a partnership together, I think it's great opportunity. It's a lot of fun. What song?
James Deebo Harrison
A song I like Something that we're Amber kind of bringing pictures. You know what I'm talking about, though?
TJ Watt
The song.
James Deebo Harrison
Nope, nope, bro.
TJ Watt
It's not fashion like you, though. You showed the ropes.
Joe Hayden
It ain't fashion. Thank you.
Undrafted Running Back
Thank you.
TJ Watt
The cars, the fashion, the jewelry.
Joe Hayden
Come on, tj, I appreciate it.
James Deebo Harrison
Listen, man, Joe got two cars. That's the same car, just different color. Because he wanted a black one and a white one. I don't understand that concept.
Joe Hayden
Yeah, we sitting up here with some guys with some money. They know a little bit about it.
TJ Watt
Nah, not like you.
Joe Hayden
Come on, man. I'm surprised I'm surpassed.
TJ Watt
We were just talking about the pre CBA money 2000.
Alex Highsmith
Yeah.
Joe Hayden
Those are early coming contracts.
TJ Watt
You do too.
James Deebo Harrison
Who?
Joe Hayden
People be lying
TJ Watt
back in the days
Peyton
looking at what Debo had.
James Deebo Harrison
I didn't get drafted. What are you talking about?
Tour Promoter
I came in.
James Deebo Harrison
I came In I made 60,000 my first year.
Joe Hayden
Okay, we're not talking about that. Not your last year, the last year.
Alex Highsmith
Last year.
James Deebo Harrison
Last few years minimum.
Joe Hayden
Debo, shut your mouth.
James Deebo Harrison
I'm not lying. It was minimal.
Joe Hayden
What's something that you want to improve on going into next season, bro? What's your game?
TJ Watt
Oh, I think just being. Continue to be a force multiplier. Just to continue to help improve people around me and try to be infectious in the most positive way possible. And like Alex was saying, play our best football as the season goes on and trying to find ways to continue to stay healthy and fresh down the road. I didn't want a freaking playoff game my whole career.
Joe Hayden
Yeah.
TJ Watt
And sitting up next to guys like you, especially you, Debo, that's absolutely unacceptable. So, yeah, that needs to change. And I sound like just a broken record, but that's what it is.
Joe Hayden
I was going to ask you basically, like, what makes you. Keeps you motivated, like to keep going. What kind of you basically just now.
TJ Watt
Yeah, the farest I've been in the playoffs was 2017 when we had the first round by. We lost to Jacksonville.
Joe Hayden
Yeah.
TJ Watt
So that's something that like as a Pittsburgh Steeler for 10 years, man, like you look back at legacy as a team, like, what are you able to accomplish? I think that's something that's a box that's left unchecked right now.
Joe Hayden
Yeah, that makes complete sense. Like just knowing with your legacy how great you and Cam and Highsmith, just having players like that on the team, like we can make something really happen.
James Deebo Harrison
Speaking of that, Highsmith, your career's over with you sitting. Oh, I'm socked. All right, give me. I'm setting up the. I'm building.
Joe Hayden
I'm setting it up.
James Deebo Harrison
Your career is over with you sitting back, you're chilling with your cheering and they talking about you. Pittsburgh Stiller fans talking about you. What you want them saying about Alex Heisman
Alex Highsmith
for on the field or off the field?
James Deebo Harrison
Off the field.
Alex Highsmith
Off the field, obviously. You know, for me, I feel like I know that I've been given this platform, you know, by God, to be a blessing to others. And for me, you know, I know my biggest purpose goes far beyond the game. You know, it goes to making an impact off the field and knowing that I don't have this platform for long, that I got to use it for good while I have it. And so for me, I just want to be known for someone that made an impact while I was here and whether that's, you know, in my community, you know, around the guys in the locker room. You know, I know that, you know, people won't always remember what you do, but remember how you made them feel. And so for me, that's just my feel. My biggest purpose in life is just to, you know, to glorify God with the talents that I have. And so when they turn that tape on, I want them to see someone that.
James Deebo Harrison
Exactly what do you want them saying when they. When they say Ali the stealing?
Alex Highsmith
I want them to say, that dude's got a motor. Like, that's what I want to see. Effort, motor. Like, that's what I want people to see. Like, when I show my children in the future, when I show them films like, dang, dang, dad, you was running. You was moving, like.
Tour Promoter
Yeah.
Alex Highsmith
You know what I mean? So that's. That's what I would say, like, for on the field, but off the field wise, like, you know, definitely leaving a lasting impact that goes far beyond the game.
James Deebo Harrison
Definitely. I love it, man. You know, that's. That's why I figured that's where you
Joe Hayden
were going to go with it.
James Deebo Harrison
You know, like I said, I recently, over the last couple years, accepted my Lord and Savior, and it changed a lot of aspects of how I see things, how I view things, and what my goals and, you know, know what motivates me, what drives me. And, you know, like you said, it's my Lord and savior. You know, first and foremost for you,
Joe Hayden
tj, when doing this, not like the way Deebo put it, but when the game is all over for you and you and you hang up the cleats, what would you want the people to remember?
TJ Watt
I think Alex pretty much hit the nail on the head, but I think as far as football goes, I think the motor is the biggest thing is like, PG brought up a great point. We was talking about Brandon Graham when he was. He had a great interview with him coming out of college, and it just really stuck with him. And he said he made it a point to go back and watch the first play of his career. And he didn't have the tape, but he explained how it was balls to the wall, hustling to the football, his first play. Then he goes, now watch this. And he puts on his last play before he retired the second time. So it was like his first retirement was his last play. And it was a screen pass. The game was in the books, but he sprinted the ball. It was basically identical, first to last play, bookended by absolutely balls of the wall, playing just for his team, just

And I think that's something that I think will be really cool for my career as well. To be able to put the first player onto the last play. Like, man, that guy loved the game. He gave everything he possibly could, not only for his teammates, but for the name on the front and the back of his jersey to be able to go out and ball out each and every week would be something cool for people to say.
Joe Hayden
Thousand percent.
James Deebo Harrison
Definitely.
Joe Hayden
I'll let you know this. I played with both of you guys, man. Just such good dudes, you know what I'm saying? On the field, off the field, obviously the playing, everybody sees that, but just locker room dudes and great leaders. So I wish nothing but the best for you guys, man, to continue success.
James Deebo Harrison
Listen, man, we ain't letting these boys go yet.
Joe Hayden
No, I say that. I had to say that just because that's how I feel about. No, no, no, no, no.
James Deebo Harrison
Let him go.
Joe Hayden
Listen, you, me, when I got my boys around me, I just do. I got to give him love.
James Deebo Harrison
He got, he got, he got, he got, he got, he got.
TJ Watt
He.
James Deebo Harrison
He's with child now.
Joe Hayden
Yes, he is with child.
James Deebo Harrison
He's with you. How is that?
TJ Watt
That is life changing in every way possible. I'm telling him how great it is, man. I got a year and a half or 17 month old.
James Deebo Harrison
I'm a year and a half. I'm a year and year and a half.
Peter (Pdub)
17 months exactly.
James Deebo Harrison
See, 17 months, 23 days, 7 hours and 8 minutes exactly.
TJ Watt
It's the best, man. It has changed my life in every way possible, in the best way. Just how I look at my wife and my daughter.
Joe Hayden
Yes.
TJ Watt
I love my family, man.
James Deebo Harrison
Oh, yeah, so good refocus, you know?
TJ Watt
Absolutely.
Alex Highsmith
Start.
James Deebo Harrison
You start realizing what really matters, you know? Yeah. Like I said, I was, I was, I was one of those people, like, until I had my son, dude, I mean, I didn't care about nothing. I didn't care about nobody. And I was like, I. I didn't even want kids, to be honest, when I had my son, I'm like, damn. Now I got this thing I'm in love with and I gotta take care of it. And now I can't think about nothing but him. And then I went and had another one and I'm like, you know what I told you up until I had kids, bro, I believed I was invincible. I believe I couldn't get hurt. I believe I couldn't die. That's how I got over my fear of flying in planes. I told myself, if it crashed, I'm jumping out. Fear flying in planes.
Joe Hayden
No, swear, swear.
James Deebo Harrison
Still, that's how. Not no more. I mean, I'm not, I'm not ready to. But when I first got in the league. Oh, terr.
Joe Hayden
Dude, he got over his.
James Deebo Harrison
Didn't you guys bus that rule when
Undrafted Running Back 2
you first got in?
James Deebo Harrison
That's great.
Joe Hayden
There we go. You know how it was.
Alex Highsmith
Got Joe.
Joe Hayden
Yeah, got Joe. 95. The teams wasn't worth as much.
James Deebo Harrison
Listen, man, it was, yeah, it was different. That's how I got over it. Like, I, I, I, I just believe I couldn't like, you know, the plane go down, I'mma bust the door open, the emergency, I'mma jump out, I'm gonna roll on the ground, have a couple scratches on me, that's it. And I'll be good.
Undrafted Running Back
Yeah.
Joe Hayden
Wild man.
TJ Watt
What are some things that you do now that you said you'd never do, like, as a parent? Because that's what I always like, so
James Deebo Harrison
I'll never do that when I'm like,
TJ Watt
walking it all back.
James Deebo Harrison
So the thing that I'll say I said I would never do is be like, easy on them. And I was, I was, I was tough. I was tough on my kids for a while. For a long time. And I still, I'm still tough on my kids, but I don't like, I was like, I'm whooping ass for everything, cuz.
Joe Hayden
You got boy or girl?
Alex Highsmith
Girl.
James Deebo Harrison
He got a girl. You can't do none of that. You got, you got wife.
Joe Hayden
Wife.
James Deebo Harrison
You got to do all the discipline.
Joe Hayden
I can only imagine if I have,
James Deebo Harrison
like, how is it like, I, I, you know, God bless me with two boys. And I say that because if I
Joe Hayden
had a girl, I would be solved. I'm done. I'm done.
James Deebo Harrison
I'm cooked.
Joe Hayden
She got it.
James Deebo Harrison
I treat my kids, my dudes daughters, they love me. And I love, I'm like, yeah, I couldn't. How can I tell her no?
TJ Watt
I'm constantly sending stuff home. Even at training camp, my wife would be like, send it back before Blakely even gets to open it. So I'm constantly trying to spoil her, but Danny keeps me in check.
Joe Hayden
Yeah, man, but she, yeah, she gotta toughen me.
James Deebo Harrison
She'll be an athlete, though. She'll be pushing.
Joe Hayden
If I seen you've been doing a little cooking, what's going on with that, man? How long you been cooking? You been shuffling it up?
Alex Highsmith
I mean, I've been shuffling up for a while, but, you know, I think I thought it was finally time to, you know, post some videos. You know, I say my wife, you know, Alyssa, she was like, you need to post some videos because you can really cook. And I always post my story, and I know that. All right, let me post some and, you know, get. Get my stuff out there so I get some brand deals and whatnot. But I. I mean, I would say I'm a girl master. I would say that. It's just. I think I've been doing it for a while, so, yeah, there's gonna be more content. More content coming soon. But it's definitely one of my passions outside the game. Is he looking at me like he can't really cook like that?
Joe Hayden
He think he can throw down?
James Deebo Harrison
That's why God know. And I don't even know who that means.
TJ Watt
Hey, Cook off on the Deebo injury.
Alex Highsmith
We will have to do it.
TJ Watt
Please.
Alex Highsmith
Let's do it.
James Deebo Harrison
Look here, man, before we get y'
Alex Highsmith
all out of here.
James Deebo Harrison
Listen, listen. Before we get y' all out of here, winning that Lombardi, that's. What would it mean to y'? All? What would it mean to you?
Alex Highsmith
I mean, it would mean, you know, everything in regards to this game. You know, that's the pinnacle of what you do. It's what you work for every single year. You know, you put in all those hours in the off season and just to win it for the city, you know, for the guys around me, guys like TJ Cam, Aaron, all the vets and the guys, just the whole team as well. Like, it would just mean so much because we got a lot of guys who put in the work. We got a lot of talented players, a lot of guys who are great football players. And this city is so passionate about this game, about us, about this team. And so I think that would just mean a lot just to especially win it here. Make it number seven.
James Deebo Harrison
Oh, yes.
TJ Watt
T.J. man, we're in the city of champions, man.
Joe Hayden
Yes, sir.
TJ Watt
We've seen six super bowl trophies from the day we walked in the building, and it's been a point. The stairwit is 7. However you want to pitch it. We need to get that seventh. And since I've been in Pittsburgh, I think the Penguins have won twice and have been able to have parades. And our time's got to be up, man. It really has to be. We put so much into this. You guys Know what all goes into a season, what goes into a career? And what better way to pay back a career and pay back the fans and our families and everything that has gone into this. The amount of support that we've had throughout our whole career, to be able
James Deebo Harrison
to sacrifice that they each give.
TJ Watt
Absolutely. To be able to pay them back in the city. And just there's so many people that go into this thing that we call the game of football that to be able to pay them back and hoist a trophy and have that memory where we can sit back and have conversations for years to come and show our kids, Man, I want that. I want that for everybody in that locker room. And everybody is fans. So it be would. And it would be damn special, man. It's the purpose, for sure.
James Deebo Harrison
Definitely.
Joe Hayden
We want that for you, brother.
James Deebo Harrison
We want to thank you boys for coming on.
Alex Highsmith
Appreciate it, guys.
James Deebo Harrison
Appreciate you.
Joe Hayden
Appreciate that, sir.
James Deebo Harrison
Listen here, man. TJ Watt, Alex Seismith, y' all go ahead. Make sure you keep your eye on them. Cause y' all gonna be seeing them in February, doing damage over there in Cali.
Joe Hayden
Yes, sir.
James Deebo Harrison
Y' all know what's in Cali in February. For show. For show. Look here, Joe. Let's see what you got going on right here, Joe. Cause your Cleveland Browns. Y' all can rock your Cleveland Browns. He's seen the video.
Alex Highsmith
He's seen the cooking video, right?
Joe Hayden
Yeah, I think he did.
James Deebo Harrison
I seen the cookie. I seen the cooking. I thought he was just out there.
Joe Hayden
You know, I'm telling liesmith because, look,
Alex Highsmith
I got a Smash Burger video on the way next. And I got some tacos video.
Joe Hayden
I'm dead serious. That's what I'm trying to tell you. You just. You thought you saw one video.
Alex Highsmith
I clean.
James Deebo Harrison
Come on. And you clean, too.
Joe Hayden
Appreciate you, brothers.
James Deebo Harrison
Hey, man, what's your. What's your step. Your chef fee to come to the house and cook up something I might. I might use? Oh, that man.
Joe Hayden
That man got money. Oh, no.
James Deebo Harrison
For sure, for sure.
Joe Hayden
All right, my good man. Got Peter up.
James Deebo Harrison
We got Peter.
Sports Event Announcer
Where?
Undrafted Running Back
Pete up.
James Deebo Harrison
We got Peter up. He coming through.
Joe Hayden
We got.
Undrafted Running Back 2
We.
James Deebo Harrison
Listen, man. We got Pete up. He coming through. He getting mic'd up right now. Okay,
Sports Event Announcer
we got.
James Deebo Harrison
We got a double. We got a. We got a twofer. Look here, man, what I want to talk to you about is your boy Todd Monkin over there. His explanation for Shador's thing. So Brown's head coach.
Joe Hayden
Top one. No, no, we ain't gonna talk about that.
James Deebo Harrison
You don't want to Talk about that. You're gonna take you more time.
Joe Hayden
I need more time.
James Deebo Harrison
You need more time than that.
Joe Hayden
I need more time.
James Deebo Harrison
I'm just saying we can make, you know, a little start a little. Listen. All right, let's talk about this then. It was a kid in high school
Joe Hayden
that's actually crazy now.
James Deebo Harrison
High school player found a snake in his helmet during practice. Come on, Peter, Sit up down here, baby.
Joe Hayden
What's up, baby?
James Deebo Harrison
How you doing, man?
Joe Hayden
Good, good. Good to see you, too. Good to see you, too, man.
James Deebo Harrison
Oh, yes, sir. Welcome. Pdub right here.
Peyton
Appreciate it.
James Deebo Harrison
Fastest linebacker in the NFL, that's for sure.
Peyton
No doubt.
James Deebo Harrison
Fast linebacker in there. What's your 40?
Peyton
Time is combine was 4. 4 3.
James Deebo Harrison
God.
Peyton
But I think we can do a little better.
James Deebo Harrison
I think you run faster than that, though. Yeah. That was on a bad day.
Peyton
Bad day.
James Deebo Harrison
That was a bad day.
Joe Hayden
He walked down somebody in the game.
James Deebo Harrison
For whoever took off.
Joe Hayden
Yes. Whoever took off. Receiver in that m. But it was four three. It was definitely four three.
Undrafted Running Back
Definitely four three.
James Deebo Harrison
Four, three four three.
Peyton
Minnesota game.
Joe Hayden
Yes.
Peyton
Over there.
James Deebo Harrison
Who was it that he chased down?
Peyton
Jordan Addison, I think it was.
Joe Hayden
There we go. There we go.
Amazon Health AI Advertiser
Thank you.
Peyton
We was in Ireland. Yeah, I almost said Germany.
Alex Highsmith
Huh?
Joe Hayden
So, bro, you got a brother in the league that plays pitcher?
Peyton
Yeah, he pitches for the brewers, actually.
Joe Hayden
Okay, so who's the better athlete?
Peyton
I'm the better athlete by far.
Alex Highsmith
Yeah.
Peyton
He's got a good right arm.
James Deebo Harrison
Yeah, that's it.
Joe Hayden
So he can't jump, he can't run.
Peyton
He was a good athlete.
James Deebo Harrison
But the thing about.
Peyton
Now, here's the thing, here's the thing.
Sports Event Announcer
Here's the thing.
James Deebo Harrison
Is he older or younger brother?
Peyton
He's older than me. He's three years older.
Undrafted Running Back 2
Three years old.
Joe Hayden
Not a lot.
Peyton
So here's the thing with baseball, like, when you become a pitcher, like, that's all you do is pitch.
Joe Hayden
Yes.
Peyton
You know what I mean? So, like, his off seasons, he's just throwing the ball. Like, he's not. Like, they do work out and they stretch and they do, like, shoulder stuff, but they not, like, getting it in.
Alex Highsmith
Yeah.
Peyton
You know, he's not sporting in high school. I mean, he was a good player. Like. Like, you know what Like Furman is? You ever heard of the college Furman?
James Deebo Harrison
Yeah. Yeah.
Peyton
In South Carolina. Like, he had offers to play baseball and football there.
Joe Hayden
Okay.
Peyton
But he went out of high school. He got dropped out of high school, so.
TJ Watt
Ooh.
Joe Hayden
So he's not.
James Deebo Harrison
What are you throwing? How are your thoughts?
Peyton
In high school, he was, like, 97 98. Yeah, that was the craziest thing to me. Cause, like, we're from a small town, like, really small. It's a little bigger now.
James Deebo Harrison
How tall is he?
Peyton
Six two. Like 250.
Peter (Pdub)
God.
Peyton
Oh, like a tank on the mound.
Alex Highsmith
See?
Joe Hayden
Okay.
James Deebo Harrison
He bigger than you?
Peyton
Wider.
Joe Hayden
How much you weighing, Peyton?
Peyton
Like, 243 right now.
Joe Hayden
Oh, okay.
Peyton
Yeah, yeah.
Joe Hayden
Okay. Okay.
Peyton
Yeah, I'm up there a little bit.
Joe Hayden
So did you play baseball, too?
James Deebo Harrison
That's up there for linebackers now.
Peyton
220 days.
James Deebo Harrison
Yeah, it is.
Joe Hayden
Yes. Cause 225, man.
James Deebo Harrison
Me and Woolley, we was like 280 and 300 off ball.
Joe Hayden
No, that's finger in the dirt. That's hand in the dirt.
Peyton
That's hands in the dirt, though.
James Deebo Harrison
That was off ball. That was linebackers. That's what we did.
Peyton
Here's the thing, though. Here's the thing, though, right? Week one, Big Kirk. Big Kirk. 303 by one. You know what I'm saying?
James Deebo Harrison
We got the backing man in space.
Joe Hayden
I need a little more sweet. I need a little more speed. How's it been like, playing with Queen?
Peyton
It was really good. It was really cool for me coming in. Cause you know how you hear the stories, like when young guys come in and, you know, you not like bullied or whatever, but just like haze and stuff. I mean, not all that stuff, but, like. I mean, I went through my rookie duties and stuff, but when it came to on field stuff, he was really good to me in a sense of like, you know, he always brought me along. Never really looked at me as a younger guy.
Joe Hayden
Yeah.
Peyton
You know, like, if I made him a of sense, he held me to the same standard he was holding everybody else. So that was really important for me. And just, you know, now as I'm getting into my third year, I'm ready to take a lot of that off of his plate. Because the last few years, you know, he's had a lot to do with the calls, you know, making sure everything's ran right. So I'm pretty excited for this year to take a little bit off of his plate and just kind of let him play ball and both of us open up a little bit.
James Deebo Harrison
No, what's the.
Undrafted Running Back
What's the.
James Deebo Harrison
What's the learning curve like for you? Which would it do with a new defense coordinator? Grant?
Peyton
I mean, it's a lot.
James Deebo Harrison
It.
Peyton
I mean, cuz. I mean, we run a whole. It's a whole different world now. You know what I'm saying? We ran the same stuff for a long time.
James Deebo Harrison
In a sense, but it's a. I mean, I don't. I don't. I don't know per se, but what I'm going to say is it's going to be a difference in the actual. First is going to be communication, and then it's going to be the assignments of what it is that you have to do and how those can flip with. Y' all have motion flips, right?
Peyton
Yes.
Undrafted Running Back
Yes.
Peyton
Yeah. I mean, that's a. What's cool for me.
James Deebo Harrison
Like, Le Bo.
Peyton
Like pg. Patrick Graham. Pg, we call him. He likes to just have the pin in his hand the last.
Alex Highsmith
Last.
Peyton
You know what I'm saying? Like, he thinks he's able to not really determine what they're going to run, but if they're doing this and doing this, we're able to get to certain things to combat what they're trying to do, which I really like. And it's. It's obviously a lot, you know, as the inside backers having to control everything, set the front and things like that, but I think once it really clicks, you're gonna see us flying around, playing freely.
Joe Hayden
Yeah.
James Deebo Harrison
The understanding of what it is that you have to get accomplished, and especially the first thing is alignment assignment. You gotta get the guys in the right positions, the right calls, and then you gotta make the correct adjustments, especially, you know, when it comes time to motion. You know, Dick LeBeau's defense was. Dude, you needed a year before you were able to really get into it and understand it just at your position. And then once you get into it now, you start learning the guys next to you and so on and so forth. And right now, what y' all done got into is that big learning curve. You just changed over something new. It's new ish, but it's far more, I would say, complicated as far as communication and understanding. Yeah. Because of the technicalities of his defense and how he runs it and then how he sees and relates it to who he's going against. So it's not like I run this defense. This is what I run. No, I run this defense and I run this defense because of how it is that they run their offense. And I know what is going to be successful against them. So you may have defenses where, I'm assuming, you know, you. You'll run, you know, for a majority of the part of this because of the personnel that you have or the alignment that they give you.
Peyton
Yeah.
James Deebo Harrison
You know, but.
Peyton
Yeah, one thing. One thing I'm starting to see kind of come together now that we're Two and a half weeks into camp, like, you just said, like, you know what you're supposed to do, but when you know with the person beside you.
Joe Hayden
Yes.
Peyton
Not even their assignment, but, like, more so how they're gonna play is when. Like, I mean, I've been playing beside PQ for two years now. So, like, when we move to the ball, I know how he's gonna shoot gaps. I know when or when he's not gonna shoot gaps or when he's not gonna jump routes. So, like, that's one thing that's cool for me over, like, especially this last week when we really started to gel. It's just to, like, kind of know what that guy's doing to you or even know, like, hey, what's the corner's responsibility? Try to make his responsibility a little easier in quarters. And cover three and cover two, whatever we're doing. And then it kind of just opens you up in a sense to, like, all right, like, I don't memorize my stuff anymore. I kind of understand why we do this and why we call this. So I'm really enjoying that part of the learning curve.
James Deebo Harrison
Yeah, yeah.
Joe Hayden
So I said around this year. So this is what. What year for you in the league?
Peyton
3.
Joe Hayden
3. So what parts has mainly started to slow down for you coming into this year as a league?
Peyton
I would say, especially this year, when my rookie, you know, I mean, y' all know how it is. Like, my rookie year, I came in and I was playing, and it was more so. Just not about not making mistakes.
Joe Hayden
Yeah.
Peyton
Which I hated. Like, that's not how I've ever played. And then last year, it kind of opened up a little bit. But this year, like, not that I'm. Not that I'm going to make a ton of mistakes, but, like, you know, I'm playing ball. I'm playing to make plays. I'm not going to have that fear of, hey, if I do this, they might pull me out, or if I do that, you know, I'm just going to be playing ball. And honestly, like you used to, I would line up, I would figure out my assignment, and I'd be in my gap. I'd do my thing. Now I line up, I get the call, See the formation, knock certain variables out.
Joe Hayden
Yes.
Peyton
And that's how I'm starting to play a lot faster.
James Deebo Harrison
Yeah, well, you got a better understanding of the defense.
Joe Hayden
Trust me, when you already know what you're doing, you can start looking and seeing what's going on over here.
Peyton
And it's. I mean, I'm In a. I'm not an older. I'm in a veteran defense. Like, these guys are really smart. I mean, even, like. I mean, you know how it is. Definitely. A lot of the times maybe the guys in front of you don't know as much ball as, you know, the back end, the safeties and stuff. But, I mean, the guys we got up front know just as much ball as the off ball backers, as much as the safety. It's funny, Cam, you know, he doesn't get on my nerves with it, but, like, we'll, like, call the front, and he'll be turning around to make the check, and I'm like, one second, one second. You know, but that's just how it is. And it's really cool to play behind that and, you know, because then we're all on the same understanding of, like. Like Mike T. Said, every meal is not a banquet. You know, they know it's quick game, get their hands up. That's why cam has more PVUs than DBs most years. It's really cool to play with that, like, I guess, global knowledge. Like, the whole defense. Yeah, the whole defense is understanding. It's really cool.
Joe Hayden
Yep. Hell, yeah.
James Deebo Harrison
Yeah, we. So as you're saying, like, you know, he's looking back. Well, you know, when we came in, he was a young guy, and he has linebackers behind him that's, you know, been there for eight, nine years. And before he even get a thought of, you know, where he's. They're telling him, hey, da, da, da, da. So he's, you know, he's sitting there like, hey, hey, hey. Cause he's feeling like the process isn't going as fast as he wanted to go. And then, you know, you got to switch over and all that. I think once you guys actually get to where you get into game mode, you get into game speed. And now you have that communication with all the. Cause I'm pretty sure they're having practice. Be super crazy with a whole bunch of motions so you get everything. Dude, I was so, like, confused, and, like, I was out of it, dude. I would literally stop in the middle of the play, like, yo, they start motioning. No, I'm dead serious, bro.
Joe Hayden
Dig.
James Deebo Harrison
LeBeau's defense was so crazy. I could go from a free blitzer. Nothing. No responsibility. Yeah. To man on number two, solo by myself, like, just from motion. And they made it complicated like that in practice to where they would just motion in motion so that you knew what you were doing. And so when we finally got into the Games, and I realized they weren't going to do that. I'm like, oh, shit. I need to realize. I need to sit down and understand what the hell is going on for the craziest thing to happen. I'm practicing for the craziest thing to happen.
Joe Hayden
So.
Peyton
Yeah, and then we also have all these, like. I mean, everybody does now. Every different personnel, so, like, every different play is base as nickel is dime. Like, everything's switching. So you kind of have to understand, like, your roles kind of change. In dime, obviously, in base, there's five down. So everything just changes a little bit. But like you said, they make practice much harder than the game is.
James Deebo Harrison
Yes, yes, yes. That's. Yeah, I like that. I like that he does that.
Joe Hayden
What goals you got for 20, 26? For this year, for myself, for yourself, man. For yourself. We go self and then we go team, man.
Peyton
I don't really love to throw, like,
Joe Hayden
stats, numbers and stuff.
James Deebo Harrison
Okay, man.
Peyton
I just want to. I want to be on the field. Every player of the defense. I want to help this team. And obviously, y' all know, I mean, our goal here is to win a Super bowl every year. Anything less is.
James Deebo Harrison
Anything less is failure.
Peyton
It's failure. And, you know, I've known that for the last two years, and we obviously haven't got that accomplished. And, you know, kind of. It hurts your soul a little bit when you have. Have guys like Cam, tj, Aaron now, you know, like, just, you know, the way we went out last year just kind of left the bad taste in our mouth. So, I think. I mean, the goal here is always the Super Bowl. If it's not the super bowl, it's considered failure. And that's been established through generations now. Yes, that's really. I mean, it might sound cheesy, but that's really my only goal is to help this team just win a Super Bowl.
James Deebo Harrison
Come like b.
Joe Hayden
Come on, baby. When you ball out and do exactly what you gotta do, that's what's gonna happen. You know what I'm saying? Like, you wanna be the best ball out, numbers and everything that's gonna happen.
Undrafted Running Back
Yes.
James Deebo Harrison
If you do numbers and the accolades come with it, dude.
Peyton
Thousands. And I would say it's really easy to play very hard for this team, because when you watch the film, you see guys like Cam, a big man running out of the stack every time. You know, you see the most profound veterans at their position maybe ever, practicing with excellence, you know, so it's just. It's really easy to have that mindset around here.
Joe Hayden
Yeah.
Peyton
Because, I mean, it's been established for Mike T. Had it going for 19 years.
Joe Hayden
Yeah.
Undrafted Running Back
Oh, yeah.
Undrafted Running Back 2
You go.
James Deebo Harrison
You go. You take that all the way back to Ham and Lambert. You know what I'm saying? That's. That's just, you know, that's just what it is. When, when they talk about you and your. Your career as a. As a Pittsburgh Steeler linebacker, what do you want them saying?
Peyton
My goal is to be. Is to be the best. You know, I want to be talked about as one of the best, obviously. I mean, great teammate and all that, but, you know, I want my play to speak for itself. You know, the way that I play, the effort that I play with and the physicality that I play with, I just want it to speak for itself, and that's how I want to be remembered.
James Deebo Harrison
Cool. Cool. Appreciate it, man.
Joe Hayden
Flying around, people.
James Deebo Harrison
Appreciate it, baby.
Joe Hayden
Flying around, baby.
James Deebo Harrison
We got a couple more coming through. Slide show with us right here, baby. Hey, man. Yes, sir. Thank you, man.
TJ Watt
Appreciate you.
James Deebo Harrison
Look here, man. It's rapid fire. Give us a 2.
Peyton
People so mean all the time.
James Deebo Harrison
Hey, hey. That's my natural look.

But I definitely like the way we're trending right now, Going in the right direction. I think everything's a lot, you know, organized. And guys are starting to buy in to McCarthy and what his vision is for us. And, you know, I'm excited to get out there.
James Deebo Harrison
Definitely. Definitely. Hey, man, tell Joe how you set your. Was it your brother that you set up over there at the North Hills game or that North Allegheny game when you had him, who was it he had, I think was his brother or his cousin. Somebody come over and ask me a question or something.
Joe Hayden
Herbert did.
James Deebo Harrison
I think it was Herbert. No. Yeah, it was.
Peter (Pdub)
Who was it?
Alex Highsmith
Me?
Peter (Pdub)
No, I don't see him.
Joe Hayden
No, no, no, no.
James Deebo Harrison
Maybe it was him.
Sports Event Announcer
I don't see.
Bank of America Advertiser
I'm thinking.
James Deebo Harrison
I can't think of his name right now. Someone looks just like him.
Joe Hayden
A Sawyer?
James Deebo Harrison
No, no, no.
Peter (Pdub)
Damn.
Joe Hayden
No, you're not, bro.
Amazon Health AI Advertiser
I'm just here.
Sports Event Announcer
I don't know who DEO talking about.
James Deebo Harrison
I don't know who, dear.
Peter (Pdub)
So I'm talking to my voice.
James Deebo Harrison
Look here, man.
Joe Hayden
What.
Undrafted Running Back
What.
James Deebo Harrison
What. What is your. What is your goal? Coming out of seat. We're asking everybody the same thing, and we're kind of getting the same ass.
Joe Hayden
Yeah, I'm loving it, though.
Peter (Pdub)
Ain't gotta ask me Super Bowl.
Joe Hayden
Everybody saying the same thing.
James Deebo Harrison
Y' all hear what it is.
Joe Hayden
Everybody saying the same thing.
James Deebo Harrison
City of champions, man.
Peter (Pdub)
But I feel like it's like. Like I'm trying to win that. Joined for, like, Cam and TJ and Aaron and, like, all the old heads, like, you know that time. You know, that football life, It's a shelf. So there's only a finite amount of time you get to do that. And I'm still young. But especially all the old heads, like, trying to get Aaron.
James Deebo Harrison
Already got one, man.
Joe Hayden
But look for Cam. For tj.
James Deebo Harrison
Cam.
Joe Hayden
TJ Ramsey.
Peter (Pdub)
Yeah.
Joe Hayden
Like, and I feel it. Y' all got the squad to do it.
Peter (Pdub)
Yeah, we definitely do.
James Deebo Harrison
Look, what's the. What's the first thing you bought?
Peter (Pdub)
First thing I bought? I mean, like, besides, like, paying off my mom and dad's houses and all
James Deebo Harrison
that you bought you That I bought for me or Unnecessary Gold Club? No, no, no, no. Tyler's T250. What did you get?
Peter (Pdub)
And a lab putter.
James Deebo Harrison
What did you get with your money, Joe? Huh? What did you get with your money, Joe, when you got paid, Joe, when you came in?
Joe Hayden
Got me of lot a little whip. So. Got me a little whip.
Tour Promoter
Got me.
Sports Event Announcer
What kind of whip?
James Deebo Harrison
It was Bentley.
Joe Hayden
Little Bentley coup, little Bentley coupe. Nothing crazy.
Peter (Pdub)
You ain't crazy.
James Deebo Harrison
I appreciate you. I appreciate you staying grounded.
Peter (Pdub)
Yeah.
Joe Hayden
Yeah.
James Deebo Harrison
You know what I'm saying?
Peter (Pdub)
I had to get some people, though, you know?
Joe Hayden
Come on. What kind?
Peter (Pdub)
I love golf.
Joe Hayden
He just said 50 T250s. Okay, okay. What's your cap now?
Peter (Pdub)
Joe Hayden
15, okay.
Peter (Pdub)
Not as good as you.
Joe Hayden
I'm a 12, Debo, so. There you go. You was acting like. Yeah, you was very. Oh, he whooping your. Yeah, yeah.
Peter (Pdub)
We're gonna have to get out there.
Joe Hayden
We're gonna get up there. Yeah, yeah. For sure, for sure.
Peter (Pdub)
We're gonna vlog it, too.
Joe Hayden
A thousand percent.
James Deebo Harrison
Listen, I ain't going with you.
Joe Hayden
Where you play? Out here?
Peter (Pdub)
Anywhere. For real. But I just. I'm thinking about joining a spot or something.
Joe Hayden
Yeah, no, you gotta get you a little club out here, man. That's some great golf.
James Deebo Harrison
You gonna join a country club?
Joe Hayden
Yes.
Peter (Pdub)
Yeah. Get a little benefits. I'm not a country club ass dude, though. But it's like, I'm a golfer, bro. Like, if you're a golfer, you understand?
Joe Hayden
You get it, Debo? You're not a golfer.
James Deebo Harrison
Don't country club cost money?
Joe Hayden
Whoa. See, they always bringing up money. Don't worry about that. We good. We good out here, right?
James Deebo Harrison
You know they gonna want some money, see?
Joe Hayden
But instead, getting a lot of a
James Deebo Harrison
Bentley just to be.
Joe Hayden
Instead of a Bentley, I'm gonna be a golf member. Boom.
James Deebo Harrison
It's gonna cost you damn near Bentley.
Joe Hayden
It's gonna cost you the coupe.
James Deebo Harrison
Nah, nah, nah.
Peter (Pdub)
Get the Steeler discount.
Undrafted Running Back
Question.
Joe Hayden
Who is your five hardest running backs to tackle?
Peter (Pdub)
Five hardest running backs? Yeah, I mean, Jalen Warren gotta be up there. I mean, I never went against him in the game, but, like, practice or whatever it is, you know what it is. I mean, you see it on film, too. That dude's a dog. I gotta give Nick Chubb some love.
Undrafted Running Back 2
Yes.
James Deebo Harrison
Yes.
Peter (Pdub)
That dude was a monster, bro. Like playing him, especially rookie year. Nick Chubb, man, he was a problem. Like Christian McCaffrey. Like, once you got him, he wasn't really, but, like, he was just to get to him. Yeah. Like, elusive.
James Deebo Harrison
Yeah.
Peter (Pdub)
And he got, like, good contact balance. Like you hit him. And he knows how to spin off.
Undrafted Running Back
Yeah,
Joe Hayden
yeah.
Peter (Pdub)
Derek Henry for sure too.
Joe Hayden
It's a big ass, dude.
Amazon Health AI Advertiser
Yeah.
James Deebo Harrison
Nah, I wanna. I ain't gonna lie. I wanna hit that high. That's the like, back.
Joe Hayden
Yeah.
James Deebo Harrison
I'm going for the ball first.
Joe Hayden
You going for the. You punching the rock out. You punching the rock out, y'.
TJ Watt
All.
Joe Hayden
Ball searching, punching the rock out. I'm cutting his legs out.
James Deebo Harrison
I'm trying to see if one of us.
Peter (Pdub)
But I honestly feel like I. I like on the edge anyway. Like, it's more quarterbacks than running backs
Joe Hayden
that you got to tackle. Yeah.
James Deebo Harrison
N. Dude, I play. I play. Dude, I played outside. I had. I had a couple years where I had 100, 100 plus tackles. Like, you get in there, you get to go.
Peter (Pdub)
Yeah, they was throwing it. They was throwing it 15 times. They run it in 48 now. It's obvious they're gonna run it 5, 10 Ravens gonna run at 40, but they got, they got two running backs basically too. Like, Lamar is like both he a quarterback and a running back.
James Deebo Harrison
Yeah, he different. Yeah, he. He real. He real different. But I think that's why we have a lot of success with him is that he is that much difference and they rely on him being able to run it. And as long as we're able to go out there, stay, gap, sound and wrap up, keep him in the pocket.
Peter (Pdub)
Keep him in like, bro, he's.
Joe Hayden
Don't run past the quarterback if you
Peter (Pdub)
hesitate for like a second. Dog. I was touching the ground.
Joe Hayden
That's what I'm saying.
Sports Event Announcer
Thank you.
Joe Hayden
He's real twitchy.
Peter (Pdub)
Yeah. No, he got my respect for sure.
Joe Hayden
Yes. Man.
James Deebo Harrison
Look here. Who is the hardest tackle to get around?
Peter (Pdub)
The hardest tackle to get around.
James Deebo Harrison
And then who was the toughest run blocking tackle?
Peter (Pdub)
I mean, bro, Lane Johnson was. He's a monster. Like, if he grabs you, it's. His underhooks are crazy. Obviously, Trent, but I think more like a low key guy.
James Deebo Harrison
My.
Peter (Pdub)
My rookie here was Michael Wenahu from the Patriots. He was playing guard, but then they had moved him to tackle, but he just had like a weird. Like he didn't have a tackle body type.
James Deebo Harrison
Yeah.
Peter (Pdub)
So he wasn't as tall and like his arms weren't as long, but it was like he was just weird getting around him, bro. Like he just had something weird to him that was just different. But yeah, I think Lane for sure. Run and pass.
Alex Highsmith
Yeah.
Joe Hayden
Sweet. But I appreciate you, man.
James Deebo Harrison
Oh, we got more out there. Yes, sir. Man, I appreciate you. Coming through, baby.
Joe Hayden
Man, Nick, my dog. Throw it up. Ball out this year, my boy.
James Deebo Harrison
Big Pockets, double up. Y' all wanna double up? Oh, yeah, we got both of them there. Double them up right there, huh?
Peter (Pdub)
Yeah.
Sports Event Announcer
Appreciate you for sure.
Joe Hayden
For sure. Appreciate you, Herb.
Peter (Pdub)
Uh huh.
James Deebo Harrison
Rico, J. Len, let's go. Look here, we got Rico Doddle.
Joe Hayden
We got Rico Doddle. We got Jalen Warren.
James Deebo Harrison
Jalen Warren. They coming through.
Joe Hayden
Thunder, Lightning. Tote, tote.
James Deebo Harrison
Hold up. I'm gonna talk to him about that. Thunder and Lightning, man. See, look, I think they gave this
Joe Hayden
other name we give Thunder. Thunder, Thunder, Lightning.
James Deebo Harrison
I don't know who gonna be what. Cause I seen them both, both of them Thunder and Fire. Thought Thunder. Seen them both get some Thunder.
Joe Hayden
Both of them, Both of them fire.
James Deebo Harrison
You know what I'm saying?
Joe Hayden
Both of them fire.
James Deebo Harrison
That's just what it come down to,
Joe Hayden
cuz. Jalen, undrafted.
James Deebo Harrison
Undrafted baller. Undrafted. I like that undrafted game, man. You know what I'm saying? I was undrafted myself, Joe.
Joe Hayden
I think both of them have undrafted,
Undrafted Running Back 2
you know what I'm saying?
James Deebo Harrison
I was.
Joe Hayden
What's going on, babe?
Peter (Pdub)
How you doing?
James Deebo Harrison
Let's go, baby, let's go.
Joe Hayden
Pleasure, pleasure. Yes, sir. How you doing?
James Deebo Harrison
Go ahead, y' all go ahead. Sit on down.
Joe Hayden
Get yourself together, man. Backfield in the building now.
James Deebo Harrison
Backfield in the building. Orico over here. Jalen over here. Let's get it cracking and see what we got lacking. Look here, man.
CarMax Advertiser
Ooh.
Joe Hayden
Tighten up, swole, man. Tighten up, swole, man.
James Deebo Harrison
Listen, don't worry about me.
Joe Hayden
You got it.
James Deebo Harrison
Hey, how y' all like the new changes that Mike McCarthy's came in with as far as the offense and with the new OC Brian? I got it, right.
Joe Hayden
How you like it, Jalen?
Undrafted Running Back 2
I like it.
James Deebo Harrison
Yeah.
Peter (Pdub)
Yeah.
Undrafted Running Back 2
It's. It's different, but it's a little similar at the same time. Obviously, the culture is the same. We want to run the ball, you know, that make them feel it mentality. So I'm all about that. Yeah, it's good.
Undrafted Running Back
Not much change for me, I think. I was obviously with him five years in Dallas.
James Deebo Harrison
That's disaster.
Undrafted Running Back
A lot of it was a lot of similarities from when I was there. Just a new terminology really, but, you know, a scheme I'm comfortable in and used to, so definitely got it.
Joe Hayden
I know you was an undrafted running back, so just thinking about you. See you got your deal. Both of my dudes undrafted running backs.
James Deebo Harrison
Only person in here drafted was you.
Joe Hayden
Oh, shit. Oh, no. Okay. But we all made it to the same spot.
James Deebo Harrison
I was just saying, we just letting you know.
Joe Hayden
Do you still have that chip on your shoulder still for that draft today?
Undrafted Running Back 2
For sure, for sure. I don't think it'll ever go away. You know, I played the game football because I love football and I love hitting all that, obviously. But yeah, I'm always had that with me.
Joe Hayden
No matter same.
Undrafted Running Back
Yeah, for sure. The same. I think every time I step out there, like, I'm playing with a point to prove. Like you said, it just came with being undrafted and having to earn my spot each and every year on the team, so improve it to the coaches. So every time I'm out there, it's like I got a point to prove to everybody.
James Deebo Harrison
Look here, man, being an undrafted guy, what is that situation or scenario? I should say. I know for me it was. I sat behind a dude that I was better than I knew I was better than. They knew that I was better than. But if they. If he was dressed, they'd start him, and if he wasn't, he didn't play. I played all the special teams, sat behind his cap for almost three years. That's what. Like, I go back to that in my head every time I get into training camp, every time I come into a season. Is that whole situation, that scenario. And you know what's so crazy? I don't know how y' all do it, but what I do is I hike myself to think like, I don't give a damn if they drafted a dude to bring somebody in. They brought him in because they said I'm sucked. And that's what I. That's what I used in my psyche to get me to had it fuel, keep that chip on my shoulder. I should say, you have any scenario situation where you. You go back to and you think about where you. Like, you know what, that right there is what's going to keep me, keep me motivated. It's gonna keep that chip on my shoulder. It's gonna keep me driven.
Undrafted Running Back
Yeah, I say a lot similar stories. For real, honestly, obviously, I was playing behind Zeke and TP my first couple years, two great running backs. But I always thought I could be out there doing it just off going through practices and stuff. And then just over the years, you see him keep bringing a new guy in, it's a revolving door. They bringing a new guy in. I have to keep, like I said, proving myself each and every year. And then I got put on the IR one year, and then the next year it was like, okay, he fighting for the three spot again. Ended up being the two that year. And then, so, yeah, similar stories, though them just Keep them saying bring guys in and me just keep beating him out.
James Deebo Harrison
That's what I don't know.
Joe Hayden
Straight up.
James Deebo Harrison
Yeah, yeah, boy. You don't know about that. Joe, you got that first round, man?
Joe Hayden
No, man.
James Deebo Harrison
They came in, they just grinding, though, bro.
Joe Hayden
I know what the grind look like. You had that chip on your shoulder.
James Deebo Harrison
He had the chip on his shoulder.
Joe Hayden
I wanted to prove that I was worth the first round pick.
James Deebo Harrison
He got the chip on the shoulder. They started gassing me. Josh Cribs told us about it.
Joe Hayden
You know what I'm saying?
James Deebo Harrison
When he first came in, Josh Cribs told us about it. They was firing. They were bombs over Baghdad on his head.
Joe Hayden
It was. Ain't gonna lie. Rookie training camp was a little tough. What was y'.
TJ Watt
All.
Joe Hayden
What would you. This might be back in the day. What was your, like, welcome to the NFL moment or did you ever have one?
Undrafted Running Back 2
Mine was like. It was literally the first preseason game I ever played in. It was Seattle. I had got a check down and I broke a tackle, but I was running. I was running straight, and a safety came and hit my shoulder on film. It don't look bad, but I felt that. And I'm like, that's how they hitting in the wheel.
James Deebo Harrison
Damn.
Undrafted Running Back 2
Like, it's a whole different ball game. But, you know, I got up and
James Deebo Harrison
I was like, yeah, we got a game.
Undrafted Running Back 2
Yeah.
Joe Hayden
Yeah.
Undrafted Running Back 2
What about you? Right?
Undrafted Running Back
Mine, I played. I didn't even play my first offense snap until my fourth year, so. Mine, I think either my. Yeah, I ain't play offense till my fourth year. Special teams, I was four.
James Deebo Harrison
Four.
Undrafted Running Back
It was onside kick versus the Ravens. You know, they like big guys out there. I still remember. I think he was number 99. He hit with the. We was kicking it. No, we was protecting. And we had to protect the front line. And he hit me. It felt like my back was this way, hips was this way. I ain't walked probably like two days, but, yeah, that was mine for sure.
Joe Hayden
Oh, man.
James Deebo Harrison
Yeah, I did. It was an onside kick. I don't know where it was. I can't remember where it was at, but when they hit me, I fell, like, straight on my butt. Like, straight down on my butt. Double and going to hernia surgery after the season.
Joe Hayden
God damn.
Undrafted Running Back 2
Who hit you?
James Deebo Harrison
I don't know what they did.
Joe Hayden
You know who hit you? I don't know who it was.
James Deebo Harrison
It wasn't even like that. It was the fact that I hit my butt. Like, I literally landed, like, just. I don't know what I was Thinking like it was young.
Joe Hayden
I was rookie lasty, bro. That's crazy.
James Deebo Harrison
It was two of them though. You know how they do the double up. The ball was coming, you supposed to. And I was. I ain't pick one. But if I pick one, they might have got.
Joe Hayden
That's what you gotta do.
James Deebo Harrison
You gotta pick one.
Peyton
Yeah.
James Deebo Harrison
I said I don't wanna be on the front line no more.
Joe Hayden
That's a wild man.
James Deebo Harrison
But my welcome to the NFL moment, you know who was practice, who it was the tag. I don't even know. I don't even remember what the tackle name was, bro. And it wasn't that somebody hit me. Cause I was pretty good with the hitting thing. It was the speed. Bruner went down. You know, you see the down round block.
Joe Hayden
Yeah.
James Deebo Harrison
Titan went down. And I'm normally when I see that, it's like easy. I go step up and I, you know, go to the tackle and stop him, man. By the time I looked up, tackle was right here. He had me hooked. I swear it was like this. And then I looked up and he was already here. Yeah, bruh. I was like, the speed of this game is different.
Joe Hayden
Did he hit you?
James Deebo Harrison
No, bro, he just cut. I couldn't get bruh. And I couldn't move. Like I couldn't. It was nothing I could do. I was stuck.
Joe Hayden
Strong, strong man.
James Deebo Harrison
No, he was fast.
Joe Hayden
His speed, it was too fast. Question, brother. How's it been like now going with Aaron Rodgers knowing that this is gonna be his last year playing with him this year? Has he been in like just trying to figure out like meetings and trying to get plays and stuff? Trying to make sure everybody's on the same page.
Undrafted Running Back 2
Yeah, I mean, yeah, he'll. If he feels like there's any lack anywhere, he'll definitely get it resolved as you know, on his timing, which is usually urgent. But it's good.
James Deebo Harrison
Like I don't feel.
Undrafted Running Back
I don't feel.
Undrafted Running Back 2
I don't feel like there's any like he acting any kind of different. Like he's still approaching it. Like, you know, he was still trying to win the Super Bowl. Like he ain't acting like over overreacting over anything, but like he just playing ball.
Joe Hayden
Yeah.
Alex Highsmith
Yeah.
Joe Hayden
That's good stuff.
Undrafted Running Back
Yeah. For me it's just been nice. Obviously this is my first year with him. It's been nice getting out there with him, you know, hall of fame quarterback, great. I'm just amazed by how smart he is. That's what stand out to me.
James Deebo Harrison
That's what I was gonna Ask.
Undrafted Running Back
Looking forward to getting out there.
Joe Hayden
Is it.
James Deebo Harrison
Is it anything that you have gotten from him? You know, little nuggets, as I like to say here and there that he said, hey, you know, do this or that. And, you know, it's things where you, like, you know what? I did it. Now I'm looking back and, you know, you know what? If I had been doing that sooner, I could have had, you know, maybe more yardage from this or, you know, had more success.
Undrafted Running Back
I wouldn't say that. Usually when he tell you to do something, 10 out of 10 times, he right about what he wants you to
Joe Hayden
do, and it's gonna work.
Undrafted Running Back
Serious. Like, I never seen nothing like this before, but, yeah, so usually when he give you a cue, something to do, he write about, and it's gonna work for the best of the team. So I'm definitely looking forward to getting out there. Okay, do that. I feel like it's his running back. As long as you communicate with him before the play, you can never be wrong. That's like a big thing for us in the running back room.
James Deebo Harrison
So how many times when you're out there, may he change or communicate something to you that wasn't exactly as the play had been. Had been drawn out? I'll say, shoot.
Undrafted Running Back 2
He'll just say, like, yeah, we'll have, like, it'll be. It'll be the play call. Then he'll. He'll look and he'll be like, do this. Like, he'll literally tell you what to do. Like, yeah, sometimes it'll be a term. You'll wait, what is that? And just do that. And yeah, it's right on the dot.
James Deebo Harrison
He'll say, well, I'm hearing from a couple other guys that y' all go to his crib on, like, Tuesdays off day or something like that.
Peter (Pdub)
Yeah.
James Deebo Harrison
And y' all do some film field communication, all that other stuff. How much of that has actually, like, helped to get that. That communication or. Or that unspoken communication? As I've been asking other guys, like, how much of that has been helpful?
Undrafted Running Back 2
I should say it was very helpful because it gets, you know, everybody. Everybody shows up. You know, we. Whatever, but we just creating that chemistry within each other. You know, everybody getting the same verbiage to like, yeah, everybody on the same page.
Joe Hayden
Yeah.
Peter (Pdub)
Yeah.
James Deebo Harrison
So even if it's not something that y' all may have necessarily heard at practice, he's like, yeah, or we gonna call this. I've seen this. I see this right. You see this right here? I know what they about to Do.
Joe Hayden
Yeah.
James Deebo Harrison
I'm gonna say this. You block this. Go that. Okay.
Joe Hayden
Facts.
James Deebo Harrison
Yeah. I like it. I like it. I love it, man.
Joe Hayden
We said to the goal this year, Super Bowl.
Alex Highsmith
Yes.
Joe Hayden
Stop.
James Deebo Harrison
You ain't supposed to. You supposed to ask them.
Undrafted Running Back 2
Oh, indubitably.
Joe Hayden
My bad. What's the goal for this season?
James Deebo Harrison
Super Bowl.
Undrafted Running Back 2
Okay, you said it.
James Deebo Harrison
Hey, what's your goal for this season? Personally, I tried to slip him up. I tried. I swear I did, man.
Joe Hayden
I'm with the person.
James Deebo Harrison
Hey, I'm loving it.
Joe Hayden
Because if you do personally good, brother, we gonna win this, we gonna win.
James Deebo Harrison
You do good, you get Super bowl, you win the super bowl. You didn't get there by mistake. All the stuff that comes with winning the super bowl, the accolades, the numbers, all that is going to come with it. And I don't think a lot of guys realize a lot of guys going to the season focused on, I want to get this number, I want to get that number. I want to do this. No, what we want to do is we want to win the Super Bowl. When you win the super bowl, everybody gets.
Joe Hayden
No way. We was getting to the Super Bowl. We wasn't eating. So. Yep.
James Deebo Harrison
No question about it, bro.
Joe Hayden
Plan on it. Y' all gonna eat. My man. Appreciate you. Thank you so much.
Undrafted Running Back 2
Thank you for having us.
James Deebo Harrison
Hey, look here. We got Rico, we got Jenny. Appreciate you. Thank you.
Joe Hayden
Shout out.
James Deebo Harrison
