Joe, did the Jazz hit the lotto with the Peterson or is it just summer league?
Uncle Joe
Nah, they they they they got a great pick. Uncle Ocho, I think Dan Peterson, obviously, you know, he's been criticized because of the crampy thing, taking themselves out of the game, only playing what, 23, 25 games of college. But listening to this young man talking, Ocho, he, he's here to prove people wrong, you know, and I, and I watched him play today, man. I'm talking about the poise and patience that the young man plays with. Obviously we know how gifted he is athletically, but how he plays in between the three point line in the rim midis, getting to the basket, shooting the 3, defending at a high level. The sky's the limit for this kid, bro. He looked good today. He probably, hey, hey, when you think about it, okay, Ocho, he probably put on the best performance today out of all the rookies. No doubt.
Ocho
I think the thing is, sometimes you stumble into a situation because it would have been very, very interesting had Utah had the number one pick.
Uncle Joe
Right.
Ocho
Do they go now you, you know where they going?
Uncle Joe
Yeah.
Ocho
Or do you take Darian Peterson, Darren Peterson, because they took the wizard, took the guesswork out of their hands.
Uncle Joe
Yeah.
Ocho
You have no choice. Nah, you have no choice. See, I need, I need to have you, I need to put you into a dilemma. Whereas two dilemma. Webster defined dilemma as two equally perplexing situations.
Uncle Joe
Yeah.
Ocho
You get hit by a dump truck or you get hit by a Mack truck, both going 55 miles an hour.
Uncle Joe
Yeah.
Ocho
The situation's gonna say so now I need Utah to be in a situation where they have the first pick. And now we'll see. Are we taking debonza, who went to prep school here, who went to college here, or we taking Darren Peterson we know is a known bucket. We know he's elite. He just has some issues that we like. It caused us to pause. So I think they had, I don't really think they had a choice. I don't really think, I think the two number one overall, it was between Peterson and the Bonza.
Uncle Joe
Yeah.
Ocho
I don't really think, you know, you hear other things say, well, Cameron Booth, and he does have a grown man NBA body.
Uncle Joe
Yeah.
Ocho
But I don't really think he was ever considered for the number one or the number two pick. Joe Nothing between those two guys, debonza and Peterson, that's just me personally.
Joe
Oo, yeah, I mean you right. Obviously summer league is a small sample size of, of, of what you can do, you know, after leaving college. And even though it's not the best players, not the best of the best in the NBA. Once you can, you can get a tail, you can get a feel, you know, on how someone going to adjust, you know, at, at the next level. Joe, correct me if I'm wrong, especially when it comes from college, college to the NFL. You know, in football, the, the, the difference is the first thing players say is the speed of the game is much different. The game is much faster. I'm not sure if it's like that when it comes to basketball as well. What you think?
Uncle Joe
Yeah, it is like that. It's more. So, Ocho, can these guys get out here and can they look comfortable, you know, playing in the NBA, playing in the summer league? Because you got guys fighting for contract. So you got guys out here playing hard as I don't know what against these top picks, you know what I mean? So they getting the best defense. So for me, when I watched Dan Peterson today, how he ran the pick and roll, how patient he was, he wasn't sped up. And, and when he did speed up, Uncle Oo, he was getting to whatever he wanted to. Like, he didn't seem uncomfortable to me out there. He seemed like he was right at home. So with that being said, I, I think he has so many tools in his toolbox, bro. The sky's the limit for this kid. If they put, if, if you talking really put it together, man, they can really have something special in the next couple years because they got the talent. You just got to hope that talent meshes together and see, and that's what I said.
Ocho
I give you a prime example, 84. It would have been very interesting to see if Chicago Bulls have the number one overall pick. Are they taking Michael Jordan? Are they taking AEM Elijah one? You see, the two other team took the guesswork out of their hands.
Uncle Joe
Yeah.
Ocho
They took Elijah one, the Rockets took Elijah one, and the Trailblazers took Sam boy.
Uncle Joe
Yeah.
Ocho
So. So now I need you to make a decision. Oh, we knew we had a guy. We had and I think Rod Thorne, I think he was the general manager at the time that, that selected Michael Jordan. Yeah, I would have liked to see the situation, Joe. They have the number one overall pick and then select Michael Jordan. It's easy to say hindsight. They should have taken him, right? It's easy to say that. Yeah, because you have the ability. Hindsight is a perfect science. You have the knowledge of knowing today what you didn't know yesterday.
Uncle Joe
Hey, and the game, the game was played a lot different back then, Uncle Ocho. Meaning you played inside out back then. You wasn't playing it Wasn't perimeter heavy like it is nowadays?
Ocho
No, no, no, no. You played through the big inside out. You're right, Joe.
Uncle Joe
Oh, yeah.
Joe
To. To.
Uncle Joe
To be able to come across a big like Hakeem. No, Chicago would have drafted him first if they had the number one pick to him.
Ocho
Cuz you had, you had Kareem and you had, you know, you had Robert Parrish and you had Moses Malone. Teams had bigs and you had to account for that. That's why you saw a run on Biggs back then. I mean, everybody was taking big. I mean, then all of a sudden we got AI in 96.
Uncle Joe
Yeah, yeah.
Ocho
But hey, okay, but it'd been interesting to see if there's a legit big in that draft. Is he going or do you take AI? Nah, I mean, let's just say for the sake of argument, Shaq's in that draft. You taking Shaq? Are you taking AI?
Joe
Well, you see, you're taking Shaq.
Uncle Joe
Most definitely, man.
Ocho
And see, that's what I'm telling people. Like, well, they made a mistake. It's easy to say somebody made a mistake based on now, but you don't have that. You don't know. You're basically everything on a projection, right? And for Utah, Utah's like he fell in your lap. I mean, the most beautiful apple is way up there, up there high. And the wind, you can't reach it. But all of a sudden the gust of wind comes and blows it off. You're like, damn, it just landed in my damn hands.
Uncle Joe
Yeah, yeah.
Ocho
I didn't have to do nothing. Yeah, they didn't have to do anything because they say, you know what? We're going to get a great player in the second spot. Either we getting the Bonza or we're getting Peterson.
Uncle Joe
Absolutely. And the way they looked at it. Hey, hey. But when you look at it on, I know Peterson played great today, but AJ's gonna be special too, you know?
Ocho
I absolutely agree.
Uncle Joe
I can't. I can't wait to see his debut. And when he gets out there on the court, I think he gonna put up monster numbers. I'm telling y', all, man, he is the prototypical guy of the NBA right now. 6, 9ish. Can do everything. Okay. Oh, do everything. Can playmate, can score, shoot the three, play in the mid post. Great footwork, make guys around him better. Yeah, I'm taking it. I'm taking him one if I got the first pick. I ain't gonna lie to you. I think he's that special. But I think this draft class is that special, too. It's a lot of guys who, man, I really look forward to see playing.
Ocho
I. I agree with you, Joe. I think a lot of time at Ocho, you know, in football, yeah, they're like, okay, yeah, we want a guy that's really, really good. But at the end of the day, I want to be able to put my phone down and go to sleep at night. There you go.
Joe
No, had nothing to worry about.
Ocho
Hey, who. Hey, General manager Ocho. Hello.
Uncle Joe
Yeah.
Ocho
Ocho. What's going on, man? You. You. You sleep? Nah.
Joe
Yeah, yeah.
Ocho
What's going on, man? Such and such got. Got pulled. Got arrested tonight, huh? For what? They don't. Teams don't want to deal with that, right?
Uncle Joe
No.
Ocho
When you tie it up and you look at the money, the top pick, A.J. the bombs, are gonna get $69 million over the guarantee, fully guaranteed. Then you see Mendoza, he's getting $60 million and so forth and so on. And so now, even with the NFL, every first round pick, money is guaranteed.
Joe
Yeah.
Ocho
The entire contract is guaranteed the first four years because now we can pick up the fifth year option, and then that becomes protected against everything except injury. And so now, guys, teams are going to be really, really, really conscious because they don't want their fan base. And it's a lot different now. The media is going to hammer you because they knew you had these red flags, like Justin Blackman, Ocho, everybody said, hold on, bro. Yeah. How y' all took this man, and y' all knew he had all these red flags.
Joe
Yeah.
Uncle Joe
Yeah.
Joe
Hey, one thing about it, boy, he was so good, they ignored the red flag. Hey, listen, let me tell you something, Uncle Joe. Now, most of the time, many of us have made the mistake when we not GMs, and we're not part of business. Business decisions.
Uncle Joe
Yeah.
Joe
We made mistakes, and we saw red, red flags in certain people in real life.
Uncle Joe
Oh, yeah.
Joe
And we gave them a pass based on who it was, whatever. Whatever the situation may be. So I can understand how they made that mistake, but go ahead.
Ocho
But see, and the thing is, is that hopefully the.
Advertiser
The.
Ocho
The. The. The mistake isn't so great that. Because if you make the mistake at the quarterback position, it sits you back three, five years.
Uncle Joe
Yeah, yeah.
Ocho
Other positions, oh, you can move on readily, easy. You make a mist. A mistake at a running back or wide receiver. Any other position is that one position that is your foundation. He's your foundational piece. You make a mistake at him.
Uncle Joe
Yeah.
Ocho
Oh, you sat back for a minute. You got money Tied up in him because he's the first overall pick. So now you're looking at probably 65, a 10% raise next year if these the number one overall pick. Let's just say it's Arch manning. Yeah. That's $66 million that you got guaranteed no matter what. No matter what. No matter what.
Joe
He.
Ocho
He can be good or he can be bad. Hey, but you got $66 million tied up in it and that.
Uncle Joe
Hey, that's why they do. That's why they do these extensive looks in these guys going way back to high school and junior high. Yes. Man, it's hard for these teams to invest all this money nowadays. And you got all these flaws and. And character issues. They not willing to deal with that. Bro, you. Hey, hey, if I draft you and I'm paying you $70 million, 50 million, $40 million as a rookie, and you ain't.
Joe
Yeah.
Uncle Joe
You ain't played a game on NBA, NFL. Come on, bro. Last thing I want is a damn character issue. You know what I mean?
Ocho
And we're hoping as we've gotten older. Yeah. Oo. You and I grandfathers, hopefully, Joe, one day you become a grandfather.
Uncle Joe
All right.
Ocho
We realized we were at that age one time. We were young and did some dumb things.
Uncle Joe
Yeah.
Ocho
Was it one or two or was it a continuation? And then how dumb were the things? Was it something that. Yeah, it was, you know, hey, okay. Pulling a fire alarm. Okay. Rolling somebody, you know, rolling someone's house with toilet paper. Egg in someone's house.
Uncle Joe
Yeah.
Ocho
Knocking people's mailbox down with your forearm as you drive by.
Joe
Damn, you was bad as hell.
Ocho
Oh, damn. Oh, man. Statue of limitations. Oh, man, that's old, man. That's 40 years old. Hell. So you're looking at a situation. Okay, how much? And then. Okay, he was like this in high school. And that's where it stopped. But damn, he was like this in high school. And there the continue. We see a continuation in college.
Uncle Joe
Yeah.
Ocho
And then you gotta roll the dice.
Joe
Yeah.
Ocho
Is he a late bloomer? Is he one of these guys? Some guys mature 15, 16, 17. Some guys mature 18, 19, 20.
Uncle Joe
Yeah.
Ocho
Some guys mature 22, 23, 24 facts. Some guys never mature. So which one am I. Which one am I getting? Ocho Joe. What? What? What am I getting? Because, man, to invest $70 million in a guy, you're asking. You asking a franchise to. To. That's. They do their due diligence now because a lot of these, that they work for the FBI. You go back and let your Team. They got former FBI agents.
Uncle Joe
Oh yeah, yeah.
Ocho
So they do their homework. So you think they don't know.
Joe
Oh, they know.
Ocho
They know everything.
Joe
You know, you. Oh, you know, it's funny too, Uncle Joe. I think a lot of people, especially fans, a lot of people in the chat. I don't think people understand. Not only do they do their homework before they invest in you, before they draft you, before they pay you tens of millions of dollars. Right. Once you get drafted, they know exactly what you're doing in the offseason.
Ocho
Yeah, I'm.
Joe
I'm just. I'm g. Use the Bengals as an example. Jamar Ch. Joe Burrow T. Higgins, let's say Dexter Lawrence, for example, when they not in Cincinnati and they flying flying around, you know, having a good time, doing whatever they do. You know, everybody that's part of the Bengals organization know exactly what they're doing.
Martha
Huh.
Joe
They know exactly who they're hanging out with, Joe.
Uncle Joe
Yeah.
Joe
They know exactly move. They know exactly how much you're spending. They'll know exactly who you and sleeping with chat. They know everything.
Uncle Joe
Yeah.
Joe
It's so funny. And you would never know it. You. You never know it. I had. I didn't went back in the off season. I just spent an all season down in Miami, you know, two, three months. I done went back to Cincinnati for the offseason program. Man. They didn't ran down everything. I done did.
Uncle Joe
Yeah, yeah.
Joe
My. I ain't even have social media back then.
Ocho
Yeah, they know your kids.
Joe
They didn't told me everything. I didn't did like what are we talking about?
Ocho
They know how much you pay in child support. They know how much your mortgage is. They know your kids in private school. They can tell you, you know what, your mom had an eviction in 1986.
Uncle Joe
Yeah. Yeah.
Ocho
You also have four speeding tickets. They can tell you all of that.
Joe
They can.
Ocho
They're going to tell you everywhere you've lived along the way. Now they just want you to tell them like okay, we can trust him because he's telling us what we already know. Because they're looking at the sheet so they asking you, posing you question. It's just like when the people come sit down in your car when the FBI come. Just didn't go ahead and invite them in. You want a thing to drink, sir? Today they ain't just come out no accident. They ain't accidentally come to your house. So they've done their due diligence.
Announcer
Yes.
Ocho
And so you just hoping we're getting. I got a guy that Was young, made young mistakes, but he's ready to take that next level and be mature. He's going to be the person that we hope and we think he can become because we're about to invest a lot of money in him and hopefully Darren Peterson, look, he has some issues. He said with cramping, he was taking creatine. I'm shocked that if his trainers didn't tell him, son, if you take creatine you got to drop an ass. However much water you think you're drinking, you need to drink more because it's going to pull all the muscle, all the water out of your muscles and that's what's going to cause you to cramp.
Uncle Joe
Yeah.
Ocho
So I'm surprised they didn't tell him that, Joe. Hey, they did. That was a situation where, hey, it, maybe they didn't, maybe they did or maybe they didn't. He didn't know you young, you know, you think you know everything when you're young anyway, but I, I, I, hopefully this young man is, has, has cuz he looked phenomenal today.
Uncle Joe
Oh man, oh man.
Ocho
Get to any spot that he want to.
Joe
Yeah.
Ocho
And like you said, some of these guys are. Ace Bailey came in last year so he's getting more rep. It's like, okay, you think we want to see you some more. Some of these guys are trying to get contracts. Maybe they're a two way contract, maybe a ten day contract. I'm trying to show you something. So obviously it's not. No, you don't see no shade and all these your top 15, 20 guys in the NBA there. But these guys are fighting trying to get a, a job in the league.
Uncle Joe
Amen. Look, Utah got some talent, Uncle Ocho. Yes sir, they got some talent. To where? I don't know where they'll be, you know, this year fighting in that tough Western Conference. But in the next two to three years, man, they, they should be at top of the east, the Western Conference, bro. They got a bunch of talent over there, A bunch of young guys who finding their way. I like the, the Keante George kid.
Ocho
Hell, I like him.
Uncle Joe
Average about 22, 23 a game this year he did. And if, if you can add Peterson to this group and he can play above his maturity, then yeah, you can take leaps and bounds a lot faster. So I look forward to seeing Peterson, man, continue bro. I think he, I think he pissed off he didn't go number one, Uncle Ocho. And I think he gonna come out and try and show and prove that he was the best Player in this draft.
Joe
That's a good thing.
Ocho
I was one of some of the first ones to really start taking that creatine back in the day.
Uncle Joe
Yeah, and.
Ocho
And, yeah. Oh, yeah, yeah. I was in the mid-90s. We was on it. You know, EAS was a supplement company out of there, and they had these products, and we.
Martha
And.
Ocho
And the thing is, the thing. The first thing that my trainer told me. You know, Greek, Steve Antonopoulos. Steve Antonopoulos, he's like, sharpie, you got to drink a lot of water, he says, because you're already muscular, and you'll. You're gonna. You'll pull if you don't.
Uncle Joe
Yeah.
Ocho
And it will make you cramp. I mean, I was drinking. I mean, back then, my kid, you know, my bladder was this big. Yeah. I drank a whole gallon and a half. Two gallons of water pee two times the whole day. Hey, I drink again. I drink a gallon of water. Right now. I'm just gonna go stand in the bathroom. I ain't laying down. For what?
Uncle Joe
Yeah.
Ocho
Cause I'm gonna get up every two or three minutes, Joe.
Joe
Hey, what that. Would that creatine do it.
Uncle Joe
Put a little weight on you, Put
Ocho
a little muscle, put some weight on. Yeah.
Joe
So why y' all ain't tell me that? I could take me some creatine, but
Ocho
you ain't gonna drink enough water, Ocho. You'll be to hurt yourself. Yeah, you do.
Uncle Joe
Hey, you gonna drink that creatine on top of that coffee here. So we're gonna have find you so damn.
Joe
Well, hey, so it won't help at all, though, A little bit.
Uncle Joe
It may help. I ain't gonna lie. I didn't take it. I didn't take it until I got to college. Ojo. When I got to college with my little thin frame, they was like, oh, nah, we gotta put some muscle on you. You gotta drink. You gotta drink this creatine. I'm like, damn, creatine. What the hell is this? This shit was nasty.
Joe
Wait, Joe, you were small at one point.
Uncle Joe
I wasn't small. I probably came into college.
Ocho
He was always tall, Ocho. He was just thin.
Uncle Joe
Yeah, I was thin. I probably came into college, Ocho. I probably about 2:15ish. You know what I'm saying?
Joe
Nigga, Joe, that's big, but you got
Ocho
to realize how tall he is. Oh, Joe.
Joe
Okay. Yeah, yeah.
Martha
I'm tripping.
Joe
I'm tripping. Yeah, yeah.
Ocho
Looking like stick man, right?
Uncle Joe
And. And the position I had to play in college, you know, it was like 4 or 5 ish.
Ocho
Really.
Uncle Joe
You know, I had to play under the goal pretty much.
Joe
Right.
Uncle Joe
So he had to play against dudes three, four years older than me in the sec. I had to beef up a little bit.
Joe
Okay, okay, okay.
Ocho
But a lot of the weight that you put on with creatine is water weight, because it holds. It makes you hold water.
Uncle Joe
Yeah, Right.
Ocho
But when you work out properly. But you gotta. You know, the thing is that when you're young, you can train.
Uncle Joe
Yeah.
Ocho
That's why. That's why did you get those gymnasts and how they have to train and these young athletes, how they have to train. It's easy. Body just bounce back like it ain't nothing.
Uncle Joe
Yeah, yeah.
Ocho
As you get older and older, you really get harder and harder for you to train like that. Yeah, that Back to back to back to back. Because that's how you evolve. That's how you get better. Being able to train consistently at that pace, at that intensity and, and. And the frequency. See, that's what it is. It's the intensity and the frequency.
Uncle Joe
Yeah.
Ocho
As we get older, had to back that thing down. I had to learn the hard way. I was like, man, why can't I? Because every time I was. I was still thinking in my mind, well, hell, man, look at your boy.
Joe
Yeah.
Ocho
The muscles say, dummy, you 34. You 35, bro. You can't be out here on this track for 2 1/2 hours. You can't be lifting all these heavy. This heavy ass weight, doing all these sets, right. Hamstrings, like on fire. Yeah, but you have. But when you young, you can do that.
Uncle Joe
Yeah.
Ocho
So as you start to get older, you. What did they say? Sometimes you got to train smarter, not harder.
Uncle Joe
Yep. Yeah, you're absolutely right.
Joe
I'm trying to try that for a week.
Ocho
Not enough time, Joe. Your boy Darius Acuff put on the show as well. 25 points, 4 assists, 2 rebounds in his summer league debut for the Kings. Joe, what did you like about Acuff?

Uncle Joe
Hey, a cuff. The same. I watched a lot of their, like, little mini camp before they started playing, and he looked good, bro. You know? You know what stands out to me with acuff? It's his body. Uncle ocho. Yeah, he cut up out there. I'm talking about, like, he looked like he in real deal shape. And I appreciate that more than anything, especially a young guy his age. And same thing with dan peterson. Those guys look like they really take care of themselves. Like they look like really, really great athlet athletes. And he's another guy who's very comfortable. He doesn't mind pressure. He knows how to get to his spots with the floaters, the middies. I know he got up them FGAs today, but that's okay. We got to work out the kinks, you know what I mean? We gotta. We got a great season ahead of us because I think he's one guy who's gonna get the ball early, meaning they gonna play through him right or wrong, you know what I mean? And he gonna have to just put up, you feel me? So I think he gonna be able to play through a lot of his mistakes because ultimately, outside of levine hell, he you know what I mean? He gonna be the guy who they gonna be going to, looking for to lead. So I think he in a great spot.
Ocho
Joe, you saw, you mentioned that. Because it looks like they're trying to get, get off of. They said that they can't find a trade partner. They're gonna release DeMar DeRozan. He has 25 million, but only 10 million is guaranteed. And that's a, that's an easy contract that you could spread out over two years. It don't really cost you anything. I'm not, I wouldn't be surprised if they tried to move like Zach Levine. It doesn't seem like they had any takers. Cause at one point in time, Zach Levine was a 25, 26 point a night high flying guy. Some injuries are taking his toll on his body, but I think they're kind of trying to transition. You hear him mention about possibly moving Sabonas?
Uncle Joe
Yeah.
Ocho
Well, if you move Sabonas, you try to move Levine, you get off DeMar DeRozan, you definitely say, look here we build it for the future. We already know we're not going to be able to do anything. Let's get these young guys in here and try to build from there.
Uncle Joe
Yeah. Hey, look, I can see them probably getting off the Rosen, but I think they just gave Levine like a two or three year deal. Uncle Ocho. So I don't mind keeping Levine with Acuff. You know, veteran presence, all star caliber, guy who's been around the block, knows the ropes, can kind of show them a little something. Even, even Sabonis, even keeping Sabonis, I think it's gonna help Acuff as well. So hopefully they keep a couple of those veteran guys around, man, you don't want to just throw them into the fire and hell, he gotta, you know, figure it, figure it out. You want some guys to be able to help you navigate, you know, through this tough season.
Joe
Yeah, I was just getting ready to say that. I say, damn, they getting rid of, getting rid of everybody. I know it's one thing to give Acuff the keys, you know, to the team and allow them to grow and, and learn, but you got to have some type of veteran presence. Not only veteran presence. Right. You got to also have somebody there that can get buckets. You got to have a bucket get them. I wouldn't, I wouldn't let, I wouldn't
Ocho
let the roses go, huh? 49 million. This is the last year of that contract. He was a free agent next year.
Uncle Joe
Levine.
Ocho
Yes.
Uncle Joe
Oh, is it yeah.
Ocho
So, you know, you know teams like expiring contracts.
Uncle Joe
Oh, yeah. Oh yeah, it's contracts. But if you, but, but if you keeping it 100, it's probably a couple veteran teams out there who could probably use his productivity. Uncle Ocho Levine can play, bro.
Ocho
Yeah, yeah.
Uncle Joe
He just been on some bad teams
Ocho
as of late, I think the thing is, Joe, the question is, yeah, he could play, but do we want him at 50 million?
Uncle Joe
Nah, that's the problem.
Ocho
And Sabonis has two years left on his contract. He makes about 45 and a half this year and he makes 48 and a half next year, man.
Uncle Joe
Hey, look, I don't. I think you're gonna have to keep some bonus bro. Like you bring in a guard like Acuff, man, you got to have him, a guy who, who's a great pick and roll guy. And Sabonus, not only that, he can make, he can make a cub job a lot easier because he's such a great passer. You know what I mean? So, yes, I, I think you should keep at least a couple of those guys, bro. Getting rid of all those guys and letting Acuff just take it by storm. I'm not saying that's a mistake, but for these veteran guys to help young guys navigate through the system, you need that, bro.
Ocho
Well, they messed that up when they, when they did what they did to Mike Brown. Mike Brown had a great system. The guys made the playoffs in the next year. For whatever reason, they fighting. Darren Fox did something dumb. You're up three.
Joe
Yeah.
Ocho
He commented on the guy on a three point shot. He hits the shot, hits the. You get. The only thing can beat him, Joe, is a four point play.
Uncle Joe
Yeah.
Ocho
First of all, how you get out of position to let the guy get the three point shot off. How you even out of position? And then to make matters worse, what'd you do? You filed it?
Uncle Joe
Yeah, yeah.
Ocho
And, and, and, and, and Mike Brown said what he said the next day. You know, Mike Brown without a job. Year and a half later, Mike drowns the. The head coach of the team that won the championship.
Uncle Joe
Yeah. Yeah.
Joe
That's crazy.
Ocho
People don't believe this, but dumb players get coaches fired.
Uncle Joe
Oh yeah. Oh yeah.
Joe
Along with bad play.
Uncle Joe
Oh yeah. Before.
Ocho
Absolutely.
Uncle Joe
Yeah. Before they get rid of the get
Ocho
you cut or traded. Get me fired. That's lose, lose.
Joe
Yep.
Uncle Joe
Because at some point, at some point, hell, they're gonna get rid of everybody if, if it stay messed up, you know, the coach probably gonna be the first one gone after that.
Ocho
Yeah, he Makes the least amount of money or the guy that's actually playing. So if I eat, I'll eat. I probably owe you $20 million. Yeah, these guys here make it. You see ZACH Levine making 40 something million. Sabona's making 45 million. About to make 48 million. So yeah, you got to hold on to some of those guys. But the Kings, I thought the King. Look, think about it. They took seven games. They took Golden State to seven games.
Uncle Joe
Yeah, yeah.
Ocho
And then a year later they get up off him. But hey, it is what it is.
Joe
Damn.
Ocho
The lakers have traded Deandre Ayton to the Withers for Jaden Hardy and two second round picks. Deandre Ayton signed his player option for 8.1 million last Sunday. Joe Ayton, another victim of the lights too bright in la.
Uncle Joe
Could be. Or just probably not playing up to the potential. You know what? Potentially they think the lights could have been too bright for him in la.
Ocho
They got no damn lights in Portland.
Uncle Joe
Now listen, listen, listen. He may go. He may go to. He may go to Washington and ball out.
Ocho
No, he won't. Hey, hey.
Uncle Joe
But you know what it says to me, Uncle Ocho? With Washington having three bigs, you got 80, you got SAR. Yeah, SAR and Big Aiden.
Ocho
That means what they gonna abomination.
Uncle Joe
They finna get rid of somebody, ain't it?
Advertiser
Man?
Ocho
Yeah. Guess who, guess who? A.D. maybe. Whatever. Look, if we believe what reports are saying. I think I was reading somewhere say the AD is no longer available and they've made it known to team. Now that could just be smoke, whatever the case may be. But if you take the Bonza and you. You mean to tell me you'd rather have the Bonza play with Sar and deandre Ayton as opposed to AD if you have. I would rather have Trey Ice, Trey Debons and AD as opposed to those other two guys. That's just me.
Uncle Joe
No question.
Ocho
Look at it totally different, right?
Uncle Joe
No question. But think about this. Hell, if AD finna command 150 million, we. And we don't want to pay that. Cause hell, last season, last couple season, Uncle Ocho, how many games had a man played? Hell, we ain't been out there on the damn floor.
Ocho
So you finish.
Uncle Joe
You think they finna pay him 150 or they gonna send it on by this way?
Ocho
I don't know. Sometimes Joe, I look at the NBA and see who they pay. I say I don't know. I don't know what I know. You be thinking the same thing. Y' all Just gave this man 200 million. Y' all gave this man 35 million a year for four years. Did y' all not see him play? But the problem that I have with deandre Ayton is that again, what do we talked about? You can never outrun your draft position, man. If Deandre Ayton was the 25th pick in the first round, he was the 17th pick in the first round. I don't think anybody having a whole lot of problem, but the fact of the matter, he was the number one overall pick in that draft. And that's also the pick that Luka Doncic was in.
Uncle Joe
Yeah.
Ocho
That's also the pick to trade Young. There were several other guys in that. Now, I'm not. Look, it's easy to say, but he didn't have a motor in college. Go back and look at him at Arizona. Go back. Go back and look at him at Arizona. And they talk about this man going to be the first pick in the draft.
Joe
Yeah.
Ocho
With that motor.
Uncle Joe
Well, damn, man. You know, you heard about Luca at the time, Uncle Ocho, but I don't think. Not think nobody thought he was coming over here to do what he. What he's been doing now.
Joe
Yeah.
Ocho
I ain't gonna lie, Joe. Everybody that played against Luca, everybody that. The coaches that watched him say he gonna be the best player, say he.
Martha
He. He.
Ocho
He's the best player right now. And I'm like. I'm like, hold on.
Announcer
All.
Ocho
All the. Basically the European players I know, they slow.
Uncle Joe
Yeah.
Ocho
They don't defend and they slow. Well, two or three. He is absolutely. He's slow and he can't defend. But he'll light your ass up on the offensive end, though. He will cook it. What got me. I was convinced, Joe, when I saw what he did to the Clippers.
Uncle Joe
Yeah. Oh, yeah.
Ocho
Yeah. Paul George, Kawhi, Pat Beville.
Uncle Joe
Yeah.
Ocho
It didn't matter.
Uncle Joe
Yeah.
Ocho
That man averaged 33, 35 points.
Uncle Joe
And I agree.
Ocho
Sitting in the kitchen sink at it.
Uncle Joe
I agree.
Ocho
And he was cooking everybody.
Uncle Joe
I agree. Because I ain't think he would be able to handle that pressure with those guys playing him up, up close and tight. Uncle Ocho and the way they can pick your pocket, I'm like, man, he was doing that. I'm talking about with no problem.
Ocho
I mean, he doing that to everybody. And this was before. This was before Kawhi had those injuries. Yeah, it started them out.
Uncle Joe
Yeah.
Ocho
This was Paul George. Paul George was a great two. They had two of the. They had two of the best. They might have had two of the top five two way players in the game at the time.
Uncle Joe
Oh, yeah, yeah. No question.
Ocho
And Luca at 18. 19. At 19. Cooked them.
Uncle Joe
Yeah, yeah.
Ocho
And say for good measure. Come here, Pat Bell, you get some too, because I know you're gonna talk about it. So I want you to. When you get you a podcast, I want you to tell the people what I did to everybody else. But deandre Ayton is what he is because he doesn't have a motor. And everybody say, and he had that great season in Phoenix and everything. Oh, okay. He's turned the lead. And see, Ocho, this is what we talk about in football, Joe, a lot. Guys playing hard in a contract year. Has he turned the corner, or is this just a contract year and then he reverts to what we've seen the previous two to three years?
Uncle Joe
Yeah.
Ocho
Terry, ask Portland. Portland, Are y' all pleased with. Hey, anybody from Portland or the surrounding areas, are y' all pleased with the effort that DeAndre Aiden gave y'? All?
Uncle Joe
Oh, no, no.
Ocho
Hey, hey, Phoenix, y' all had it for a couple of years. Were you pleased with the effort? I already know Laker Nation. Hell, no. He might be the only guy that Laker Nation won't work gone worse than Broad.
Uncle Joe
Hey, hey, hey. Importantly, hell, if it snowed too damn hard, he wasn't coming to work. He already.
Ocho
It looks like the wither new rotation could be Trey Young at the PG at the 2, Debonza Keyshawn, George Anthony Davis at the. At the 4, Alex Saar at the 5.
Uncle Joe
Also. They. They gonna bring Big Domination off the bench. Huh? I'm saying they gonna bring him off the bench. He come there. He come to turn over a new leaf.
Ocho
He come to be a new player, he need to be brought off the couch.
Joe
Hold on. Hey, Joe, who We gonna start over, Joe, if he. If you're.
Uncle Joe
I thought they probably move aside to the bench or something.
Ocho
I don't know, man. He's number two pick in the draft.
Uncle Joe
They traded for him. I don't know. Okay, so they gonna bring him off the bench. Okay.
Joe
Hey, who had the phone? Who had the phone, Joe?
Ocho
Ad. Ad.
Joe
Okay, okay, okay.
Uncle Joe
Hey, hey, hey. Washington cooking up something over there while y' all playing, man. I'm telling y', all.
Joe
Don't do. Don't do that, though, Joe. Don't do that.
Uncle Joe
Listen, hey, the.
Ocho
The.
Uncle Joe
Only if for Washington is. Damn it, how many games AD gonna play if AD get them people? 50, 60 games. Uncle Ocho, man, they gonna be in good shape, bro.
Ocho
With no shortage of a double. Big lineups popping up around the league. Sources say Washington envisage envisions playing Ayton alongside Anthony Davis and Alex Saar. At times, Washington ranked bottom five in total team rebounding last season at 50.2 rebounds per game.
Uncle Joe
Yeah, you need three bigs. Yeah, we. We don't know how many games 80 gonna play.
Ocho
We.
Uncle Joe
We need somebody to be able to step right in and continue.
Ocho
Yeah, and do nothing.
Joe
You gotta.
Ocho
What you mean he that worker? Deandre8 is that worker that come to work every day and don't do a damn thing.
Uncle Joe
No, no, no.
Joe
You got to think about it. You got to have a backup for the backup because you know AD's history. Based on his history.
Ocho
Yes.
Joe
It's impossible. It's impossible to replicate or duplicate what he can do. So you got to have a body. You got to have somebody.
Ocho
And I. And I know. I know Aiden's history. What does this history tell you, Joe?
Joe
Hey, he'll surprise you with a game. Surprise you with a game.
Ocho
Don't talk about that man going to D.C. like he. Like if D.C. go change something.
Uncle Joe
It ain't. The lights ain't as bright in dc. Yeah, you got the number one pick that he gonna be playing with, but he can fly under the radar.
Ocho
If you can't thrive in Portland. People didn't realize how good Dame Leonard was. He was nice boy because he was in Portland. Had Dame Lillard been somewhere on the east coast, anywhere on the East Coast. Think about how many years Dame had the language. And people didn't know how good Dame Lillard was.
Announcer
Who.
Ocho
Yeah, I remember LeBron had a comp. Had. I tell you what, let me get Dame Lillard. I'd show you how good he is. You know, Clyde Drexel was literally the best two guard in the NBA. And ain't nobody even talking. Ain't nobody even looking for it.
Joe
Well, it's hard when you're playing in the Jordan era, huh?
Ocho
But my point is, is that you're in Portland, right? Okay.
Advertiser
Okay.
Ocho
But unless you get to the Western Conference finals.
Joe
Right.
Ocho
Ain't nobody looking for you like that, Right?
Joe
Right.
Ocho
So deandre A should have been killing he.
Uncle Joe
Hey, lesson learned. Lesson learned.
Announcer
He.
Uncle Joe
He had to go through a little something. Uncle Ocho, he gonna be.
Ocho
He gonna be a different player in dc. Why, boy, if Joe was the general manager,
Uncle Joe
I didn't say he would be on my team. I did not say that.
Ocho
Hey, a year, he'd be right back here with. Right back here on Nightcap. I Give a good year chat. He'll be right back here on Nightcap.
Uncle Joe
Hey, listen, I like, I like, I like, I like Washington team though. I do, I really do. I really like their team. I, I, I know Trey is going to be determined to show that he's still elite. Yeah, hopefully AD comes in with that same mindset. And you know, AJ finna, he finna go for rookie of the year. He finna show he the best rookie out there. So I, I just think they got all the pieces, bro. Now they gotta find a way to put it together.
Ocho
Yeah, I mean, I mean when I, when I for Dame Lill, I, I mean, who, who this guy from Weber State? Cause he came out in the 80s.
Uncle Joe
Absolutely.
Ocho
I'm like, man, who is this camp. Yo, y' all taking a little bit. I mean, he's six foot tall. Six one, maybe.
Uncle Joe
Yeah, man,
Ocho
the dude shooting the ball from Beaverton.
Uncle Joe
Yeah, you ain't lying. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Ocho
Then you like and the more because you know Portland, you didn't see Portland like that.
Uncle Joe
Yeah, man. Hey, look, I seen Dane play summer league as a rookie, okay? Ojo, you can go back. I'm sure you can find it on YouTube. I'm talking about, I'm watching him in the summer league. I'm like, damn, who is it? I'm like, from Weber State, six pick the hell the dude come from. I'm talking about giving them dudes any and everything out there. I was like, damn.
Ocho
But see, when you got bounce too, Joe, he don't show it a lot, but Damon got bounced. Oh, what?
Uncle Joe
Got bounced? He was in duck contest once before. Like, yeah, he, he, he got, he, he can get up. He can play, man, he can play. And he surprised me in the summer league. But then when you see cat's ball in the summer league, you just think to yourself, only because I've been in those situations, I'm like, man, he ain't gonna be able to do that in the regular season, you know, because he gonna be playing with veteran guys, top guys on his team, man, dang. Come out as a rookie, he won rookie of the year. But he playing the same way you playing in summer league.
Ocho
Same thing. It would have been interesting to see if they could have kept. What's the Aldridge.
Uncle Joe
Yeah.
Ocho
Remember Aldrich ended up signing this free agent deal with San Antonio.
Uncle Joe
Yeah.
Ocho
Because he was supposed to replace Duncan.
Uncle Joe
Yeah, yeah.
Ocho
So I could just imagine, man, the play basically his career with that guy in the pick and roll with that guy. Cause you know, a pick and pop Role. Oh, man.
Uncle Joe
Lamarcus Aldridge was the prototypical power forward center of today's era. Like pick and pop, can shoot, can post up. I hated when they broke up. I hated when he signed and was saying. Because I felt like he kind of left Dame out there by himself. Right. And although they didn't really backtrack, I mean, in Portland, you thought that they was gonna probably miss some playoffs. Hell, they were still a playoff team.
Ocho
They was, yeah. They just didn't have. They just didn't have that big absolute ball down. Cause he was a guy you could dump the ball down to. He was prototypical. He was Tim Duncan because you could put the ball. He could put it. Hey, he could get down. He fixed ten and a half drop down there, turn around, had a nice turnaround. Could kiss it off the glass, straight in. Hey, Picking.
Uncle Joe
Hey.
Ocho
Cause remember him with Miller? The. The point guard? Miller?
Uncle Joe
Yeah, yeah, Andre Miller. Andre Miller.
Ocho
Remember him with Miller?
Uncle Joe
Yeah, yeah.
Ocho
Now just imagine him with Dane. Man, I watched Portland extended period of time.
Uncle Joe
Yeah, yeah. I watched him play against Houston when they had Dwight and James Harden in that series. In the playoff series. Okay, Ocho, I think this was like 2012, 13ish. Oh, I'm talking about Portland ended up winning the series. That's. That's the shot Dame hit at the end. And that was another shot he hit when he weighed. Bye.
Ocho
Bye.
Uncle Joe
Like, hey, that boy got. Hey, that boy a little different out there, man.
Ocho
Georgetown and the New York Knicks legend Patrick Ewitt has agreed to become the assistant coach for the Wizards. Ewings has been an ambassador role for the Knicks and now returns to the sidelines coaching for the Wizard Joe, who's the head coach of the Wizards.
Uncle Joe
Damn. Let me look. Hold on.
Joe
Hey, hey. If he's been an ambassador for the Knicks, wouldn't it be.
Uncle Joe
Nah, they ain't doing that.
Joe
No, no how you knew what I was getting ready to say, Joe?
Uncle Joe
Cause I already know how you think.
Joe
Damn, Joe.
Uncle Joe
Yeah, I know you like a book,

Hey, look, they. The thing we can say about, you know, James Dolan, you might can say whatever you want, but the one thing he does, he takes care of the former players as far as letting them come back to the games.
Joe
Right.
Ocho
Having them on the road. We saw. I mean, look at. I think Alex Houston, Alan Houston, I mean, he might used to work. He might still be in some type of room.
Uncle Joe
Yeah, he like assistant gm.
Ocho
But you look at Alan Houston and you look at Sprewell and you look at Marlboro, you look Marlberry, and you look at all the guys that were in the stands on the side eventually in the stands close by at the home games on the road, they're more attacked. They're probably fine on the team playing Joe and Ocho.
Uncle Joe
Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. I'm sure they.
Ocho
So that. That's. That. That's great. Everybody doesn't have that type of relationship. And I don't know if all those guys, you know, some guys maybe don't even want to be around because sometimes, sometimes guys leave and they have resentment towards the team. You don't even want to be around the team. They have no functions. They don't come back for whatever reason.
Uncle Joe
Whatever reason.
Ocho
They have their reason, and I'm okay with that. You come back if you want to. If you don't, that's okay, too. But I like what James Dolan does for the former player John Starks, that want to be around. He'll allow those guys to come around.
Uncle Joe
Absolutely. Absolutely.
Joe
Hey, that's dope.
Uncle Joe
Yeah. Shout out. Shout out to Patrick Ewing, bro.
Joe
Hey, hey, hey. Hey, Uncle Joe. Patrick Hewing has. He's. He's coached before, hasn't he?
Uncle Joe
Yeah, he coached.
Ocho
Yeah, he coached.
Uncle Joe
He coached. I think he was like assistant with the Bobcats. I think they had a Hornets now, but I think he did some assistant coaching over there when MJ was the owner. But yeah, he got a little coaching background. He was a head coach at Georgetown for a few years.
Joe
Yeah, yeah.
Uncle Joe
You know, he had.
Ocho
He had Mac McClung. Mac McClung was there with.
Uncle Joe
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. In Georgia.
Ocho
Yeah, yeah.
Joe
Okay. Hey, McClung. Hey. Hey, Joe, man. Buddy, buddy. Jump out the gym. I'm sure he can play a little ball, huh?
Ocho
Man dominate the G League. He.
Uncle Joe
He athletic, Ocho, but it's just a difference, bro. When you get in between those lines and you watch guys play and you know, some of the reads and reacts, but he's had opportunities to play in the NBA. He just can't stick.
Joe
Damn, man. It's probably number crunching. Number crunching. A little politics, too.
Uncle Joe
Think so.
Ocho
He was. You know, he was. He was on the Lakers. They had him. He was there with Austin Reeves.
Uncle Joe
Yeah.
Ocho
They were both rookies. And I remember that game Austin Reeves played. I don't think anybody played. It was just Austin Reeves. The last game was against the Nuggets. And Austin Reeves goes crazy.
Uncle Joe
Yeah.
Ocho
I mean, he goes crazy. I think he had, like, 30, like mid-30s, maybe even 40.
Uncle Joe
Yeah, right.
Ocho
And I think that's really what sold. That's what really sold the Lakers. Like this kind of kid. This kid legit.
Uncle Joe
Oh, yeah.
Ocho
LeBron. You know, when he was getting the game with LeBron, LeBron would give him the ball, move out the way, say, hey, go do your thing. You watched him when they played Memphis. Hey, do what you do.
Uncle Joe
Not afraid of the moment.
Ocho
He got more and more confidence, like, yo, man, LeBron gave me the ball and moved to the side, Okay?
Uncle Joe
Y' all know, confidence, it's something else, bro. When you gain some confidence, bro, it changed your whole game. Hey, you'd be a totally different player, but completely.
Joe
Hey, and Joe, when you got confidence, boy, you walk different.
Uncle Joe
Hello.
Joe
Hear me? It's like when you. It's like when you get a haircut. For some reason, when you get a haircut. I don't know what it is about getting a haircut and having that little lineup, a guy having that little shave.
Uncle Joe
Yeah. Yeah.
Joe
You feel different. There's a certain confidence when you get that in sports.
Uncle Joe
Yeah.
Joe
And you kind of, like, get it figured out. When I figured it out, Joe. Like when it came to football, when I got about in year two, like in the middle of the season.
Uncle Joe
Yeah.
Joe
I say, well, God damn. They say the game is supposed to move fast, but for some reason, everything seemed to be moving slow.
Uncle Joe
Slows down. Yep.
Joe
Man, I say, you know what? I finally arrived.
Uncle Joe
Yeah.
Ocho
You see, guys, he know. He know. He a bench warmer, and he go up there and talk to the baddest thing at the party like it ain't nothing all up in the face,
Uncle Joe
bro.
Ocho
I ain't even that confident.
Uncle Joe
Yeah, yeah.
Ocho
She can't say that, but. No.
Uncle Joe
Yeah, Hello.
Ocho
But I ain't really trying to hear that tonight.
Uncle Joe
Yeah, right. Yeah. Hey, hey. Some guy.
Martha
Some. Some.
Ocho
I need this to be a yes party.
Uncle Joe
Yeah. Hey, some guys got. Hey, hey, boy, that's a different type of confidence. She can't. She can only say, yeah, that's it. Oh, yeah, that's it.
Joe
Hey, that. That's that's me there. I don't. I don't care who it is. Boy, you out my league. In my league, below my. I mean, it don't matter. You know, I'm. Come up. I'm gonna start off with a joke.
Uncle Joe
You gonna say something?
Martha
Oh, I'm.
Joe
Joe.
Ocho
I'm.
Joe
I don't care. Hey, I. Joe. I don't even care.
Uncle Joe
Hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on.
Joe
In high school, when I had no money. Yeah, I don't care who it is. Ocho gonna be funny.
Uncle Joe
Ocho. I'm saying. Let's say you go. Let's say you in a restaurant and she eating. She got four or five other girls. Okay, you gonna go up to the. You gonna go up to the table and go point it out.
Joe
I'm going up to the whole table. Excuse me.
Ocho
You get the baddest one. You with the baddest brick in the pile, man.
Joe
Listen. Excuse me. Excuse me, miss. Excuse me. Hey, how you doing? I don't mean to interrupt, but what's your name? Yeah, okay, listen, I don't want to interrupt, and I don't want to take too much of your time because you're with your girls, right? You free for dinner in two weeks. And boom, she gonna laugh because the first thing. Who the hell asked to go to dinner in two weeks? Yeah, I'm asking for two weeks because the two week part of what's gonna get your attention because why would you not ask to take me to dinner, you know?
Uncle Joe
Yeah, yeah.
Joe
What's the two weeks for?
Uncle Joe
The two weeks.
Joe
Oh, the two just give you enough time to get comfortable so you get to know me.
Ocho
Okay?
Joe
So, boom, she locked in right there off the rip.
Ocho
Hey, Joe, see Ocho, that guy. Hey, Ocho, see that word right there?
Uncle Joe
Yeah.
Ocho
Go tell her. Go tell your horrible with a holler at her.
Uncle Joe
Hey, hey, hey.
Ocho
That's me.
Joe
It's not.
Ocho
It's not.
Joe
It's not. It's not what you say. It's how you say it.
Uncle Joe
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Joe
Delivery. Delivery is important. It can. It can. You know, most of the time, women, they. They alarm when. When strangers approach them, right?
Uncle Joe
Yeah.
Joe
You got to put them at ease. Fast as possible.
Uncle Joe
Yeah.
Joe
And you got to have to get for gab, Joe.
Uncle Joe
Yeah.
Joe
It's all in delivery.
Uncle Joe
It's all, hey, hey, hey. And then. And then after you do all that, and her friends vouch for you. Oh, it's a rap.
Ocho
Oh, girl.
Uncle Joe
Look, girl. And yeah, now you. Now you're talking to. Group chat. Yeah.
Joe
Hey.
Ocho
Yeah. Hey, but you get homeboy like Ocho, cuz he oo brave.
Uncle Joe
Yeah, I know some.
Ocho
Hey, what's your name? Yeah, you see my partner over there? You don't like Joe? I'm like this here. Joe. I'm over there like this here. Yeah, yeah, he tried, you know. He want to know if he get your number. Tell him to come over here, ask for it himself.
Joe
Hey, I'm telling you, Joe. Hey, Joe, I. I got so much in. In my little toolbox, right? I got so much in my toolbox because I talk a lot.
Uncle Joe
Yeah.
Joe
And I. Obviously, I'm not shy. I'm very. I don't want to say confident, but I approach anybody.
Uncle Joe
Yeah.
Joe
Hey, hey, any setting. It doesn't matter where we at, man. We at church. We had a funeral. We. Well, I don't go to the club, but just any outing. If I see something I like. Oh, man. Joe, I'm ready.
Ocho
Hey, Joe. And raw. What? Sushi.
Joe
Come on.
Ocho
Hey, that never told me. Say, man. Hey, hey. Hey, man, it's too hot for condom. I said, oh, no. Come on, man. What you mean, it's too hot for condom?
Uncle Joe
Oh, come on, man.
Ocho
Come on. Hey, Joe.
Joe
Hey, Joe, he made that up, man. Hey, he made that up. Hey, but listen.
Ocho
Hey, hold on.
Joe
Hey, let me tell you. Hey, let me tell you. Another one I used to do, Uncle Joe, you know, early in my career, in my younger days, right? Another one, if it was somebody that was. That was real fine. I mean, I'm talking about real fine. You know, she was a girl all by herself. I act like I'm on my phone, right?
Uncle Joe
Yeah.
Joe
And I'd be. You know, I purposely walk. Walk like, damn, my phone ain't working. And I walk up to him like, listen, I'm trying to make an important call to my mama, my grandma, you know, but my phone just died. Can I use your phone real quick?
Uncle Joe
Yeah, please.
Joe
I don't mean to be rude. Can I use your phone real quick and. And call my mama? So that was to eliminate any chance of rejection.
Ocho
Oh, okay.
Joe
I don't really. They. And they. Because of the delivery and the way I say it and being very sincere, and they. Oh, they give me the phone. Okay, no problem. But I call my phone.
Uncle Joe
Yeah.
Joe
So I call my phone. Boom, boom. We leave. I give her a phone back. My first text message. Boom. While I walk away. Thank you. I appreciate that. I just didn't want to deal with no. I didn't want to deal with no rejection. But thank you for giving me your number. And we and we on from there. I ain't had no problem since. Oh, that was cute. I ain't never had nobody do that to me. I know. Wait till I get a hold of you. Ain't never had nobody do that either.
Uncle Joe
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Damn.
Joe
Hey, Joe. With. Hell, when I was. Well, Joe, I had a lot of tricks.
Uncle Joe
Hey, look, Unc got tricks over there, too. He got all them dogs. She come over there. She playing. Oh, hey, yeah, yeah. You put that laportier in and it's a wrap.
Ocho
No, no, ain't no drinking. Ain't no drinking. No, no, no, no, no.
Joe
I'm. Got it easy, too, Uncle. You got a convertible? You got any kind of convertible car?
Ocho
No, no. Oh, no.
Joe
I was gonna say, hey, Joe, when. Hey, if you got a convertible and you got little dogs.
Uncle Joe
Yeah.
Joe
Put a little dog in the passenger seat.
Uncle Joe
Yeah.
Joe
And let him look out the window. Oh, you good.
Uncle Joe
I know. I don't want that type of attention, man.
Ocho
No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
Joe
Where you taking the dog?
Ocho
Yeah.
Joe
Joe. Hey, Joe. Hey, boy. Joe. Hey, boy. Joe. I got a mouthpiece on me.
Uncle Joe
Joe, you. That's how you. Hey, hey, look, I. Hey, I got homeboys like that, Ocho. We be out at the spot in the club, they'll walk in somebody else section and go get a girl. Like, damn.
Joe
Yeah.
Uncle Joe
Fighting. Come on, man. You know how. Hey, you know how they go.
Ocho
No. Okay.
Joe
What'd you say, Joe? They all in somebody else section.
Uncle Joe
Man, I got somebody. Dudes who will go in another dude section and pull a girl out of there. And I'm like, come on, man. We're gonna be fighting in here, bro.
Ocho
Yeah. Hey, on the. Oh, the first couple of days, no drinking.
Joe
Wait, what?
Ocho
No, you can't drink around me. Not.
Joe
Time out. Time out.
Ocho
Time out.
Joe
Time out. Come on. We. We ain't do that.
Uncle Joe
You think she gonna get too loose?
Ocho
I. I don't. Hey, I need you to be in your right mind. I need you to, like, remember everything, right? What I. What time I pick you up, where we went. Hey, what's my phone number? No, that's.
Joe
That's not fair. Most of the time, especially on the first date, a woman needs to be able to have some type of alcohol to be able to relax. Because they nervous.
Ocho
Nope. And definitely back. Back when the day when you actually picked up a girl from the. You know, picked her up from her home or something.
Uncle Joe
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Ocho
That ain't happened in a long time. Now, you know, hey, after a couple of times, you, you know, You Ubering. Hey, you get in your car, you get in your car, you go your separate way. But.
Joe

Joe
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Ocho
Oh, no, no.
Uncle Joe
Hell no. We're gonna party. We've been having a good time.
Joe
Yeah.
Uncle Joe
Hey, we grown. We gonna.
Ocho
We.
Uncle Joe
We gonna be adults about this.
