James Deebo Harrison
welcome back to this episode of Depot and Joe. I'm your host, James Depot Harrison and I am here with my host, my co host, Joe Harrison. Hey. Yes sir. Yes sir.
Darnell
Yes sir.
James Deebo Harrison
We going to jump straight into it cuz we got our first guest.
Joe Harrison
Yes sir.
James Deebo Harrison
Things got a little messed up thing. We, we get back that too, get back to that later. But right now we have Mountain Washington.
Joe Harrison
Yes we do.
James Deebo Harrison
Yes sir. Yes sir.
Joe Harrison
Please, please.
James Deebo Harrison
Welcome to the show, my brother.
Joe Harrison
Yes sir. Yes sir.
James Deebo Harrison
How are you doing today man?
Mount Washington
I'm good man. Blessed.
James Deebo Harrison
Yes, yes, you are. Extremely blessed man. I think you done collected like little bit of money too, you know, Big congratulations. I ain't gonna lie. I wanted to get to know you a little bit better before I asked for some of it but you know, time is short so, you know what I'm saying? Look here man, I know you talked about, you know, as the year progressed, actually just right now we were talking about it and you wanted to get your body weight down to a certain uh, a certain number. And that approach, is that something that you just figured out? The course, if you plan that, you know what, you feel better at a certain position or you're just like, you know what if I could get lighter, I feel like I'll be able to move better, I'll be more functional, be able to do more at my position.
Mount Washington
Yeah, for sure, definitely. Just last year at some times I felt a little heavy. So personally, you know, I just wanted to have a different approach this year. So, you know, my goal is by, you know, regular season, you know, be a certain weight and then just keep trying to climb down and just keep trying to get, you know, where my body feels right for me.
James Deebo Harrison
Yeah.
Joe Harrison
I tell you this mo. Whatever weight you feel comfortable, I think you should be able to play it that way because when, you know, when you've been able to move and with your stiff arms and hurdling over people. So whatever ways, I feel like you can get to do that because you were balling out. But with Mike McCarthy now being an offensive coordinator, what, what, what differences does he bring to the offense, you think for you.
Mount Washington
For me, it's for sure a big difference. You know, personally, I never had a head coach in the offensive meeting room, so. So that's, that, that's the first big difference I noticed off Rick and just him being a tight end, friendly guy. You know, our oc, you know, used to coach tight end back in the day too. So it's just, I just feel like this whole offense is just a different level compared to last year and, you know, years before.
Joe Harrison
Okay.
James Deebo Harrison
And okay, yeah, I like that. So he's actually in the offensive meetings and. Oh, he's hands on. I like that, dude. I like that a whole lot.
Joe Harrison
What would you say are your 20, 26 season goals for you, bro, come in this year?
Mount Washington
Me, I don't like to put numbers on things like that. I just like to, you know, go out there and do, you know, just better, you know, personally just do everything better than what I did last year. So, you know, that's just. Personally, you know, me, like I said, I don't like to put numbers. So if it's dominated more in the round game or less drops or, you know, more yards, more catches, whatever it may be. So I just trying to improve in all the areas that I can. So a Rod or whoever, the quarterback, you know, could trust me and, you know, just depend on me. You know, I just want to be one of those guys.
Joe Harrison
Facts, facts.
James Deebo Harrison
How was that relationship with what you and A Rob develop is, you know, through the course of, from last year to now, you know, where you're at in training camp and then like you said, with the addition of Mike McCarthy. How is that, how is that developed? Is it, is it a add on to more of what you were doing last year or is it a total mix?
Mount Washington
It's really hard to say. You know, with a rod, you know, just, just his time being here and you know, he, you know, he's an older guy, so when he hosts them meetings, like last year, for example, he'll host his own meetings with all kinds of guys and you know, he'll call you out. So just make sure, you know, you're on top of your game. So, you know, I just try to be all ears and you know, to be where my feet is. So if it's learning with a rod or even if we got his at his crib, learning and watching film, y' all do.
ChatGPT Announcer
Do the.
James Deebo Harrison
Where you go and you go to the crib. Y' all sit down, do y' all internal meetings and he goes over things that he sees. So y' all have a. Y' all can get that non spoken communication in the game. Oh, yeah, that's correct.
Mount Washington
Yeah. I just feel like adding him or, you know, keeping him and then adding Mike. I feel like it's just a plus.
James Deebo Harrison
Okay, I got a question for you. This will seem like a weird question, but artist linebacker or D lineman in for Youthblock.
Mount Washington
It's a few. I start off Zadarius Smith.
Joe Harrison
Yes, yes.
Mount Washington
He gave me. He's no bigger guy because, you know, typically I. I'm pretty much one of the biggest.
Brian Angelico
So.
Mount Washington
So, you know, my first time matchup, you know, he gave me, you know, a good run this past year. Chicago game sweat.
James Deebo Harrison
Okay.
Mount Washington
He was one of those dudes, you know, I played, you know, whatever, but. And then, I mean, you gotta throw Miles Garrett in there, you know, he's one of the, you know, good passers or great passers in today's game. And then, I mean, you know, TJ obviously run blocking.
CarMax Announcer
Anybody.
James Deebo Harrison
Anybody in there that you worried about at linebacker that you
Joe Harrison
wor about?
James Deebo Harrison
Anybody?
Mount Washington
Why it should be round blocking. I mean, besides the. Darius Smith, the young dude on The Chargers, number 45 Wyant Kid Sm. He was SOL. Yeah, big nose. Other than that, man,
James Deebo Harrison
that's what I like here.
Joe Harrison
Listen, man, I'm trying to get you
James Deebo Harrison
still let them know, listen, there ain't
Joe Harrison
no trouble if I'm walking around like Mount Washington. I'm not scared of anybody blocking anything. Come on, Deo. Hey, so you proved yourself last year, bro. And I, I love the fact that you're talking about just not numbers having to be the increase just on tape, everything like every. All pluses, no minuses on take, man. So I think if you do that, like that's a great mentality because there's no other way but to do better. You know what I'm saying? You got that in your mindset.
James Deebo Harrison
So which one Pancake block or touchdown Catch. Hold up. The pancake block.
Joe Harrison
It's four touchdowns. It's four touchdowns.
Mount Washington
Block. It's on. I gotta take that pancake.
James Deebo Harrison
I got to.
Mount Washington
That's not my heart. I got to. Yes sir.
James Deebo Harrison
Yes sir. I like it baby. Man, we appreciate you having us now. Well sorry. We appreciate having you join us brother. We'll let you get up out of here but we appreciate it man. Thank you.
Amazon Health AI Announcer
Man.
James Deebo Harrison
That is Mount Washington. Come on the tie in.
Joe Harrison
Watch out for the stiff hand the shoulder.
James Deebo Harrison
Put the them drive you we ain't playing no games. All right real talk look here. Let's look at this though. Joe. What I need to check out is what what Cleveland is doing this like
Joe Harrison
oh you good to go my brother. Thank you though.
James Deebo Harrison
Listen so Cleveland's chance they say they they plans change. I guess the boy we like to
Joe Harrison
have a real conversation now.
James Deebo Harrison
Desan Watson and she do a stand standards been rotating first team reps and on day one practice first team offense took every rep. Number one unit.
Joe Harrison
Yeah hold up listen keep yo keep going. You got to give the whole breakdown
James Deebo Harrison
or split the remaining reps.
Joe Harrison
Yes, matter of fact with the tools
James Deebo Harrison
said just minutes before practice that his Sean might end up with a 717 but Shador would take the majority of the one reps today that did not happen and a source, a source told Mary Kay Cat. You know her.
Joe Harrison
Yeah I love I love Mary K facts Mary Kay's Watson knew he would
James Deebo Harrison
be the first team quarterback on Saturday before before Todd Martin told the media that it was Shador sand day for the ones Joe.
Joe Harrison
What's going down brother?
James Deebo Harrison
What y' all got going on over there?
Joe Harrison
This this the nonsense I'm talking about. This is the self inflicted wounds that we do to ourselves. Coach Todd Monkey we need to be PR trained. I think our coaches they put their foot in their mouth sometimes. Look we we understand that.
James Deebo Harrison
He's not putting your foot in your mouth. They said he knew beforehand.
Joe Harrison
He said so he's lying. So he's lying. That's what I'm saying. Like they we fly before the GM has lied and said like oh we're not going to trade. And then a couple months we trade. He did this. He did this too fast to go. Debo. You sent it 40 minutes before practice that Shador Sanders was starting and then walking out. You know he's not going to be starting. So if you just just say Sean Watson. I think I wanted to see him have a couple of these looks. I think he's going to be a starting quarterback today. Just say that so it doesn't bring up these questions. You know what I'm saying? Like, let him get the reps if he needs the reps.
James Deebo Harrison
Listen man, we going to talk about this later. We got our OCA here. Brian Angelico. Hey, bring him on in. Let's go. Yes, sir. You can't tell.
Mount Washington
How we doing?
Brian Angelico
Good to see you man.
Mount Washington
How you doing?
Brian Angelico
How you doing? Pleasure to meet you.
James Deebo Harrison
Yes, sir, pleasure to meet you.
Brian Angelico
Yeah, sir.

Brian Angelico
There it was.
James Deebo Harrison
Yeah. We are here with the OC of Pittsburgh students. Brian Angelica.
Brian Angelico
Angelico.
James Deebo Harrison
Angelica. Good. I got it.
Erin Andrews
I got Almost.
Mount Washington
Almost. Yeah.
Brian Angelico
Doing better.
James Deebo Harrison
Most look here. So I'm, I'm here like I guess in 96 you were.
Darnell
Yep.
James Deebo Harrison
Linebacker.
Darnell
Yeah.
Brian Angelico
Started out on defense.
Joe Harrison
Yeah.
James Deebo Harrison
Like the transition into what you are now a great office coordinator, a great mind. Like do you ever, do you ever miss the defensive side? Do you ever, ever think about it?
Brian Angelico
Yeah, I thought I was going to be a defensive coach. I coach secondary and linebackers so. But I think it helped, you know, seeing that side of the ball for three, four years and getting a chance to go over on the other side.
James Deebo Harrison
Yeah, definitely. The transition, getting the understanding, that's one thing that I actually didn't really pay much attention to to be honest as I was younger as players having an understanding and knowledge of how things work on the offensive side and you know, have a better understanding that we actually help yourself.
Brian Angelico
Absolutely. That's, that's, that's what we do. We try to pick the defensive players brains all the time. Like would you see there? And that's what's great. The, the communication, the collaboration with them. So I always, even when I was a young coach, I would go to defensive clinics when I was coaching offense so you can learn what the other side's doing.
Joe Harrison
How do you like reunited. So you were with Coach McCarthy before.
Brian Angelico
Sure.
Darnell
Yeah.
Joe Harrison
So how was it like being that? Is it a little different?
Brian Angelico
Oh, it's been great. You know, obviously, you know, Coach went on to Dallas and, you know, I was out doing my thing, you know, eight years later, but, you know, having a chance to grow and experience different things and, you know, where coaches taking the offense for when he left Green Bay.
Darnell
So it's.
Brian Angelico
It's been really neat to get back together and see what it's become.
James Deebo Harrison
Yeah, I guess the previous. Was it four years you were with Minnesota, right?
Mount Washington
Yep.
James Deebo Harrison
Okay. That transition from Minnesota to Pittsburgh, what's the difference if there are any differences in the processing or just the organizational lead from Minnesota to Pittsburgh?
Brian Angelico
Yeah, for me, it's been an easy transition. Obviously blessed to be a part of a great organization here in Pittsburgh, and Minnesota was, you know, great organization, treated the players well and the coaches well, and that whole family atmosphere, and obviously the, you know, the Steeler fans are second to none. So that's. That's been really neat. And I actually was at University of Pittsburgh with Dave Wanstead from 2006-10. So. Yeah, so I just. Instead of going right, I go left now. So I. Yeah, that. It was neat to come back because, you know, there's people I still got to know from Pittsburgh. So it was really cool to come back.
Joe Harrison
Who is your inspiration coach that got you started and the inspiration to be a. To be a coach?
Brian Angelico
Yeah, I think, you know, I loved, you know, sports growing up. You know, your high school coaches and teachers, you know, they inspire you. So I was going to be a, you know, a phys ed teacher and coach football in high school. That's what I thought I was going to be and played Division 3 football and baseball and wasn't good enough after that. So I'm like, all right, what am I going to do? I really didn't like studying, so I'm like, sports is what interests me. So I just went right in and was a graduate assistant. And, you know, I came from small college ball. I started, and I was in Division 3 football for 10 years, coaching football and baseball. So it was, you know, I thought I was going to be there and take over as the head coach, but then I had an opportunity to join Dave Wanstead at the University of Pittsburgh and was fortunate enough to keep climbing.
Joe Harrison
Yeah. Okay. Because we had some time in Pittsburgh. I mean, he had some time in Cleveland.
Mount Washington
Oh, yeah.
Joe Harrison
Gary Barnes to the point.
Mount Washington
Yeah.
Brian Angelico
Those were fun days. Yeah. Wish we won a few more games. We actually were in first place seven
James Deebo Harrison
and four in Cincinnati.
Brian Angelico
We beat Cincinnati on Thursday night.
Joe Harrison
Oh, man, we're going to playoffs.
Brian Angelico
I know that was. And then injuries happened.
Joe Harrison
NFL happens.
Brian Angelico
NFL happens. Exactly.
James Deebo Harrison
Coach, as an oc, when you're. When you're looking at a defense and you're getting prepared to play against that defense, are you just going in and saying, like, this is what we run, or are you looking at it as. What is it that we run, that we can. That I see that we can take advantage of, or is it a combination of both?
Brian Angelico
Yeah, I think, you know, you're obviously trying to attack their weaknesses where you can get the matchups that are favorable to you, but we're not going to, like, reinvent the offense every week. We try to have a, you know, pretty diverse, you know, playbook with where we can get the matchups on our terms, everything that we're trying to do. So that's really, you know, how can you exploit it? And where we're blessed is, you know, what grouping you want to play in. You know, where you have, you know, like, guys like Darnell and Muth, and, you know, you want to play in 12, 13, 22, 11, right, to try to try to get the. As you guys well know, the personnel grouping on the field. You want to be in base and sub, and I want to go away from the nickel. I want to attack the boundary. So those are things you're trying to do and mixing people, moving people around.
Darnell
But you.
Brian Angelico
Ultimately, you're running the core plays, and then you'll have a play that'll be off of a play that you've shown on tape, because you guys are. You guys are studying that. And so, you know, trying to get what their check is, what formation, what's. What splits, get them in a sky check, you know, all that kind of stuff. So that's all fun.
James Deebo Harrison
How many. How many coaches, OCs do you think actually come in with that mindset? Because, to be honest with you, man, it's not. It's not a lot of people that I've heard that actually think that thought process. Process of how they're going to attack offense.
Brian Angelico
Yeah, I mean, I think they all do. I mean, I think there's. It's just what you're willing to do. Like, there's a philosophy, we do what we do or we're trying.
James Deebo Harrison
Right. I get a lot of weeping.
Mount Washington
Yeah.
Brian Angelico
And I. And I think, you know, you have to do what you do. When you do, you have to do well.
Mount Washington
Like, I.
Brian Angelico
And I absolutely believe in that.
Darnell
And.
Brian Angelico
But I think it's, you know, the creativity of how you can adjust splits and.
James Deebo Harrison
Yeah.
Mount Washington
You know, dress down.
Brian Angelico
Help guys get off releases with motions or stacks, you know, because, you know, you're going against those good corners. You. You got to help to guys, you know, you just can't leave them out there where they're pressed or they got help over the top. So you're just trying to, you know, get ways to do that.
James Deebo Harrison
Yeah, disguise. I mean, like, we try and disguise as a defense.
Joe Harrison
Y' all do it.
Mount Washington
Y'.
James Deebo Harrison
All. Y' all do it with motion and different formation and try and, you know, build it instead of just coming out there and sitting in it. Over the years, like, you know, I've learned, like, okay, yeah, this is the same thing.
Joe Harrison
They didn't.
James Deebo Harrison
They just didn't come out in it. Yeah, they built well, we in Minnesota with.
Brian Angelico
It was Justin Jefferson, like Jetta's. We were, you know, he. They were going to have a place playing every week for him. So it was like, how can we. Yeah, for me, now the players get annoyed, like, oh, you're changing that formation to this. Well, it's the same play, right? So there's, there's that, you know, that learning, but it, but it helps when you, when, when you need it.
James Deebo Harrison
Yeah, definitely. Definitely.
Joe Harrison
Are you a sideline or booth guy?
Brian Angelico
I've been on the sideline as a position coach for, you know, for the last 14 years. So I think that will.
James Deebo Harrison
Will.
Brian Angelico
We'll work through that, you know, as we get through preseason, what it's going to look like, obviously, going into the regular season. But whatever, you know, whatever's best for us on offense, that's what we'll do.
James Deebo Harrison
Okay. Hey, Coach, so say five years from now, you're. You're still the OC here. I know that's not your plan because you're trying to get to the head coach.
Joe Harrison
I see it.
James Deebo Harrison
But if you are, what would you want Stiller fans to say when they talked about your offense?
Brian Angelico
Yeah, number one, we're a tough, physical offense. You know, I think that's. That certainly is what DNA of the city. You know, we're going to be a physical, tough offense. We want to play smart, fundamentally sound football. I think taking care of the football and explosive, you know, big plays, creating big plays. I think that's. That's how you score points. You need big plays, and when you win in fourth, you got to be able to run the football. And that physicality and toughness has to be there. And hopefully they'll see that in Our play style
Joe Harrison
loving everything coach is talking about.
James Deebo Harrison
No question. Coach, we know you got to get going, man. We want to thank you for your time, man. Really appreciate you spending a few minutes with us. Hope you have a great season, man. Go out there. Listen, I need y' all to come back with another super bowl so I can talk real crazy. Thank you, man. Appreciate. Appreciate, sir.
Brian Angelico
Appreciate, sir.
Darnell
You got it.
Mount Washington
All right.
Brian Angelico
Yes, sir.
James Deebo Harrison
Man, you have a good one. Yes, sir. Look here, the reason we're in here
Joe Harrison
now is cuz, like, the weather outside is frightful. Weather outside is frightful. But I'm telling you, cuz, it looks crazy out there. It's bad. We had the prayer set up,
Ice Cube Big Three Announcer
Okay? Then you got Pat, then we got.
James Deebo Harrison
Come on, man, sit on up in here, man. We got. We got. We got Mount Washington already. Now we got fire moves coming through on this thing.
Joe Harrison
Come on, man.
James Deebo Harrison
Inside. Because the weather outside is frightful.
Joe Harrison
Put my boys indoors. He's watching some nice.
James Deebo Harrison
Watching some nice football, man. We had a beautiful view, man. Like, you saw the whole field down, everything. Everything was set up, man. Did they mic you up?
CarMax Announcer
Up?
Darnell
I'm good.
James Deebo Harrison
Let's go, boy.
Darnell
What's up, boy? Great, man. How y' all doing? Little lightning, little lightning alert.
Joe Harrison
Yes, sir.
James Deebo Harrison
Yes, sir. Yes, sir. Look here, brother, how are you liking the new offensive direction of Michael?
Darnell
I love it, man. It's. It's fun to be a part of. I think it's cool how he utilizes all of us to our. What we can do best, moving us around. It's been really cool seeing him, you how he used me and Darnell in different situations. And I mean, having another year with a rod, man, it's great, man. We're just playing fast. It's cool to see guys who come back. Darnell, me, dk, Jalen, Roman. Like another year with hall of Fame quarterback. Like that, like, it's clicking. It feels great.
James Deebo Harrison
Yeah. And my watch was tell us y' all do a little sit down session. I guess was it once a week or whatever it is. But actually with Aaron at his spot and basically, you know, just to build that understanding. I think that's one of those things. As I was telling him, like, you get that non. That nonspoken, you know, communication. It's like, hey, you seeing what I'm saying? When we were seeing at the crib,
Darnell
like here, 100%, that's the coolest part is, I mean, as a guy who's been in the league, what, 20 plus years now, like on his off day, that's probably the last thing. He wants to host people over his house, but he holds the whole offense over. He gets his food. We watch film with him. He sees what we're thinking, what he sees, what he looks at when he watches film. So it's cool to see how you can change how you watch film for a Hall of Fame quarterback. I mean, that, that's, it's, it's really cool.
James Deebo Harrison
Okay, you know what? I was just thinking something with him being a Hall of Fame quarterback.
Joe Harrison
Yes.
James Deebo Harrison
And you being in the league as long as you have, is it anything that he has given you or, or, or, or said to you, give you a nugget of knowledge where it's like, oh, my goodness, if I had been doing that sooner, I could have, I could have been doing better. Maybe I left some yards on the field. If, if, if I didn't. If I had done this, you know,
Darnell
soon, 100%, just the angles of my routes. Like, the coolest part of him is like, in my mind, growing up, like even early years, like, it's like, okay, I gotta get from point A to point B. But like, no, you want to create some route craft to some vertical launch, some different angle points, working angles on the defender so you can, you know, make them think something and go a different way. So, like, that's the coolest part, is just like understanding what he sees. If, like a defender's low hip.
Joe Harrison
Yeah.
Darnell
And I'm running a corner out and he's low hip, he can throw you back shoulder, you can throw over the top. Just how to feel different leverages where he can throw the ball and to expect it. And I mean, that's, that's when you get on the same point with that, you can't stop that.
Joe Harrison
That's unguardable.
Darnell
100.
Joe Harrison
You know what I'm saying? That's why they always say a good pass is always going to be good defense. You know what I'm saying? Loving it. Being able to play with a Rob for that long. Y' all getting that stuff in. That's good stuff, bro. Good stuff. So going into. What are you expecting from you this season, brother? Because, I mean, last year, me and Deebo were always watching. You weren't like, I think she gets more time.
James Deebo Harrison
I said, what's going on? Why the man ain't in the game? Why they use it?
Joe Harrison
What are you expecting this season from your brother? Because I know you are. Just every time you're out there, you catch the ball, you're going to get the ball, you're going to get open like being able to do that stuff. So just for me, from me and Debo's perspective, love everything you do. Your personality, the way you are in the locker room, the way you play. What are you expecting from yourself though, just coming into this season?
Darnell
I'm expecting a lot, man, from just myself as a leader of this team, you know, as a locker room guy on the field, there's so much that personally, like whatever happened last year, that is what it is. But like I'm using it as a growth opportunity to really, this whole offseason I was like, you know, there may be some things that were out of my control, but look at what I was doing, my process and I changed some things up and really self reflected and I'm expecting a big, a lot of big things from me this year and I'm hoping this is the year that everything comes together.
James Deebo Harrison
Yeah, okay. I'm hoping this the year that everything come together. See, because I, I told, I told Brian told you OC I need a Super bowl so I can act real stupid. You know, facts. Cuz I'm. I'm promise you I'm going make like I was in the game and I'mma figure out how to get me a ring too.
Darnell
Hey man, the coolest is just seeing the photos of you guys. Celebrates like the super bowl pools downtown. Yeah, dude, like just to experience something like that. Seeing the people hanging off the parking garages and stuff like that.
James Deebo Harrison
Like, did you so cool the crowd surfing. You just jump in the crowd to catch you. It's great. They tried to steal Troy though.
Darnell
I saw that.
James Deebo Harrison
Yeah, we had to go get it, bro. We had to go get him. Like bring you back this way. Y' all can't take me that way. What y' all doing, man? That ain't the right thing.
Joe Harrison
How the young boys doing, man, with Drew Allen?
Darnell
So he, he's, he's a good kid, man. When he gets more comfortable being around the guys in the locker room, it's cool to like kind of bring him along. Hanging out with some of the vets just kind of see, you know what it's like to be a quarterback in the league. Because you know, like, if you have that relationship with guys off the field, even defenders, like, they're going to want to pick your brain and relate to you off the field. So it's been cool. Drew's going to be good. I really like the rookie RJ, the safety there, 28. I've been going against him because we had a couple safeties down and stuff like. Like that. But he has a lot of potential, man. He does. He has. He has good pad level. He's hard to get surface get. Try and get surface area to get off and push off a little bit. He's agreeing to be really good.
Joe Harrison
That's good. So how was. We got Joey Porter Jr. My man. He's. Hopefully we get him. Got to get him paid, you know what I'm saying? So Darnell just.
Darnell
We got a really good nucleus of guys on this team, and I'm really excited for.
Joe Harrison
For.
Darnell
For this year, for sure.
Joe Harrison
Well, me and Debo was super excited, too, because the talent, like you said, it doesn't.
Darnell
Talent everywhere.
Joe Harrison
Talent's all over the place, and we're a Rod coming back, knowing that this is going to be his. He's playing, saying it, so. Hell yeah. Happy for you guys.
James Deebo Harrison
Hey, how much of that, knowing that this is the last year that you're going to have a Hall of Fame quarterback? How much of that is motivating you guys to be like, yo, we got to do everything we can to make sure we can catch that lightning in the bottle and go get it?
Darnell
I mean, that's probably one of our. It's not like we don't talk about it, but as an individual, like, we all kind of look around like, me, dk, Ro, like, all the guys were like, hey, like, we got to be on top of our shit. Like, we got to do what we got to do for him, for the team. And, you know, we can't go out like we did last year. And Aaron definitely doesn't want to do that either. So we gotta get back to the playoffs and make some noise.
Joe Harrison
Come on, man. Y' all heard move. Y' all heard move. Playoffs.
James Deebo Harrison
Make some noise. I ain't going to lie to you already. I mean, my standard ain't too high. Worst case, I got 13 to 4.
Joe Harrison
That was worst case.
James Deebo Harrison
That was worst case. I got 13.
Brian Angelico
Four.
James Deebo Harrison
I'm rocking with week by week by week by week. I ain't got to go week by week.
Joe Harrison
I knew the answer.
James Deebo Harrison
I can do that. I mean, worst case scenario, AFC championship.
Brian Angelico
That's.
James Deebo Harrison
That's just where I'm at with. I'm just. I'm not trying to put any pressure. No, that's the goal. Letting you know where I'm at. So don't have it. I want you to know. I'mma talk Granny.
Darnell
It's going to be bad on the Instagram reals. I'm going to be scrolling.
James Deebo Harrison
Did he not listen right. So I'm pretty sure y' all gonna have a live two tidings and it's gonna be 50 50. How much of an advantage is that?

And them trying to say, do I need to put in another safety or do I need to put in another D lineman? Because they can do one or both. Dude, this is going to be so awesome to see.
Darnell
That's great, man. And it's great.
James Deebo Harrison
Or do you just come to the line with an option? They don't say nothing.
Darnell
We don't know.
James Deebo Harrison
I'm giving them too much.
Joe Harrison
Much.
Ice Cube Big Three Announcer
Don't say.
Joe Harrison
Don't say nothing, man.
Darnell
Don't say nothing. That's awesome, man.
Joe Harrison
Going to be good.
Darnell
How you guys like being back at the tr, man?
James Deebo Harrison
Hey, it's great when I ain't got to practice.
Joe Harrison
I'm not going to lie. The being away from it feels a little like I. I miss the boys. I miss hanging out with you. I miss playing like the lineup. I'm looking at y' all running into each other. Honestly, I'm like, damn, I used to do that. We were crazy. We were crazy.
Darnell
Backs on backers. We don't have that this year. Thank God, man.
Joe Harrison
Man, why not, you know? Healthy packs. He know. He know he got it in him, man.
James Deebo Harrison
I like that. That was the thing I liked about it, man.
Joe Harrison
How's the practice?
James Deebo Harrison
You still get the ends, right?
Darnell
Yeah. Yeah.
James Deebo Harrison
Okay.
Darnell
Oh, grab grass.
James Deebo Harrison
Tight ends.
Darnell
Yeah, tight ends, Outside linebackers. Yeah, yeah.
Joe Harrison
One on ones.
Darnell
One on ones.
Joe Harrison
Okay.
Darnell
Yeah, we still do it all. Just we don't do back. I mean, I think they maybe done it. It's not the same backs and backers. It ain't tight ends, outside linebackers. It's like, I think they start out the line of scrimmage.
James Deebo Harrison
We'll explain the drill to him. So the drill he's talking about is called. We called it backs on back. So it was a run drill. And basically, it was more set up for advantage of these cats, because you lined up, head up, and they would either cut you off, reach you, or drive block you. And you ain't know what they was going to do until they actually, like, did it. So in that drill, I ain't gonna lie. I was damn good.
Joe Harrison
Cause you swole.
James Deebo Harrison
No, no.
Joe Harrison
It's a secret to it.
James Deebo Harrison
The secret is they don't listen. I say back off. They want to get tight to these dudes. I'm like, dude, back off. If you back off, you can see what he's doing, and then you can get to it and use your muscle now to push him.
Joe Harrison
This. Pop your hips and drive me.
James Deebo Harrison
Everybody want to pull up tight.
Joe Harrison
As soon as they pull up tight,
James Deebo Harrison
I'm like, yo, he about to lose. You know, soon as he tight.
Darnell
Well, I. I would never drive, drive, block. I would never drive. I'm like, hey, I'm going inside zone, outside zone. I am running off the ball. I'm not letting him let. I'm putting my outside arm, and I'm throwing it. Like, I'm not letting them get smart, because if they beat you inside, if they went inside, it's a loss from the defense because you have to set.
Ice Cube Big Three Announcer
You got to get outside.
Darnell
So I would just run off the ball and take off.
James Deebo Harrison
Yeah. And I'm like, yo, do that.
Mount Washington
Like.
James Deebo Harrison
Like when. When me and Heath used to do it. Like, dude, I'm like, sitting back. I'm like, I know what he's going to do. I'm like, I can. I can look and see. And I would lean to the side of, like, oh, he's leaning happy. He about to try and drive block me.
Darnell
So, like, I'll give up. Like, I'll open my foot up a little bit and be like, all right. I'm gonna make it seem like I'm going outside. Yeah, I just go inside zone. So it's because they read your foot. They read your. What you're doing. So it's cool to see the intricacy of that. Like.
James Deebo Harrison
Like that. When they started doing that. Yeah, I just sit back, and I just. I watch the hips. Cause you could do this and go this way. You could do that, but you can't lie. Moving hips. Yeah, can't lie with hips don't lie. Hips don't lie, baby.
Darnell
Hips do not lie.
Joe Harrison
Facts.
James Deebo Harrison
Yes, sir. Man, look here at Fry, man. We want to thank you for coming on, man. I know you got to get up out of here. Appreciate your time. Always. Look here. Keep your Eye out for move.
Joe Harrison
You know what time it is.
James Deebo Harrison
You know what time it is. He gonna be pancake. Pancake touchdown, baby. Look.
Joe Harrison
Appreciate you, baby.
James Deebo Harrison
Now, as we were saying, we had a great setup. It was beautiful.
Joe Harrison
Was background, everything.
James Deebo Harrison
Whole practice still sitting there, literally.
Joe Harrison
Latrobe was looking. You saw something. It said saint in the grass. Looked beautiful.
James Deebo Harrison
Look beautiful.
Joe Harrison
Thunderstorms.
James Deebo Harrison
Hey, ain't nothing wrong with this too. It's Deebo and Joe, though.
Brian Angelico
Look here.
James Deebo Harrison
Anytime we on here, it look good. Yeah, it's a beauty. Hey, what you looking at right now is beauty.
Joe Harrison
She just trying.
James Deebo Harrison
Hey, man. Beauty and the Beast. Beauty and the Beast tripping
Joe Harrison
back to my man. This is what I was trying to say. When you're coach, you come out. I just don't want you're bringing unnecessary noise. Debo, you know, this is what he's doing. Cause it's like if you were gonna go start him, you. You have every right. You're not just a fly by the rail kind of guy. I know that you knew that you were gonna have go to start Deshaun Watson before the practice started. So when you did that, why now you got me looking crazy in front of Deebo. That's like, there go the Browns knowing that. Why would your coach say that I'm like this. That would make sense.
James Deebo Harrison
I'm thinking there is a logical reason for this.
Joe Harrison
But no, no, this is what I'm saying. If you are the head coach and you know what you're gonna do, just say that that's my only thing. Because I'm like, I understand. Like when you said with the Miles Garrett with the trades, you gotta keep stuff out of there. Cause you don't want nothing to come out. But Practice is in 45 minutes. You're gonna literally sit there and tell everybody, oh, he's starting. And then 45 minutes later, when practice comes, he's not starting. So I'm like, you could have saved yourself a bunch of. Just like, if you wanna have Watson start, you're the head coach. You can do whatever you want to do. Say what you want to say. But like, if you say it, then all right, bet that's we're going to go off of it. You just blatantly lied to everybody. For what, though? That's the only part that I'm not getting. If you want desean Watson to be the starter and you think he's playing better, fine. Because you're the head coach and you thinking that, you see that whatever, you got that right to do it. But to keep like to lie though, for what? You grown ass man who you scared of. You want desean to be a quarterback?
Ice Cube Big Three Announcer
Maybe.
Joe Harrison
Maybe just run with it.
James Deebo Harrison
He's a first year head coach. Maybe it's not all his decision. Maybe it's, maybe it's coming from somebody else. Maybe it's from the gym. Maybe it's from the man upstairs. Because, boy, Haslam did say it was an opportunity that, you know, it was. No, it was, it was an opportunity that he could be back next year. He did not close that door. He said it was. So how do you know that he's not able to maybe pull the strings as he wants to pull them? Maybe I'm just saying, I'm just, I just don't think, I just don't think the man is going out there just to blatantly just, just lie. I just, I don't. I'm hoping that's not it. You know what I'm saying? But when you, when you start having the owner talking about he's leaving the door open, you start speculation of this and that. And now he was supposed to, Shador was supposed to take all the ones and now all of a sudden it's Watson taking all the ones. Maybe it done came from the top.
Joe Harrison
Maybe it did, but coach got a. It just makes him look like you don't have, don't say nothing then, like, you know what I'm saying? Don't, don't say that. You know who's going to be the starting quarterback before you go out to practice if you don't. Do you know what I'm saying? Like, it just, it just makes, it just makes drama in the media for no reason. Like, we understand we're having a quarterback battle, but it makes it even more crazy when you say, oh, Shador is going, this is his day to go start. And then he gets no starting reps. Why did you say that then, Coach? Like, don't say anything like, say today's. Because it's obvious they've been switching, they've been getting different reps. And then you say he's starting. He doesn't start at all. This day DeSean starts and he's splitting reps with Dylan Gabriel, and Dylan Gabriel with the second team has more reps than him. So I'm like, I'm sitting here, coach, it's your team.
James Deebo Harrison
If.
Joe Harrison
And you think he's doing better or whatever, let it be that what it is. But.
James Deebo Harrison
Well, he said it was some, some, some formations, some, some, some huddle stuff. Yeah, some things that he wanted to see Watson do that. You know, couldn't have been done the next day or the next time they switch.
Joe Harrison
Joe, you know, that's. You know, that sounds crazy. You know, that sounds crazy, though. I'm like, are you just flying by the. He's flying by the suit, his pants. I feel like that you gonna tell him 45 minutes before the practice that he's starting, and he doesn't. That's why it's just me with that. Just don't lie if you can have. Do what you want to do.
James Deebo Harrison
Maybe he was going to start in his head, maybe in his mind, but it was already told. That's why it was a insider that said Mary Kay. That's what Mary Kay said. She might have heard it from somebody else. She ain't hear from him. She probably heard from somebody maybe a little bit higher than him. Maybe that was closer to somebody higher
Joe Harrison
than him saying, no, he. She talking about. She talked to deshawn Wata, which said that he heard that he was going to be starting before practice started. So then when he go out there,
James Deebo Harrison
who he hearing from?
Joe Harrison
The coach. The coach?
James Deebo Harrison
Oh, he heard it from the coach.
Joe Harrison
The coach told him.
Ice Cube Big Three Announcer
He's.
Joe Harrison
Yeah, you're starting practice, and then Mary Kabit talks to DeShawn before. Like, no, I heard 45 minutes before practice that I was going to be the starter. And then you go to the media thing and tell everybody, oh, yeah, Shador's gonna be started. Sean already knows he started. Like, don't just say that then, please. Just don't say anything. Don't. Deshaun's probably starting to have some formations that I want him to be playing about. I'm like, legit. Say it. Don't say, oh, yeah, today's Shador's day. He started, and he doesn't start. Like, I don't care if he's not. If he's not playing well, if desean's playing better. It's just my. Why are you making drama when it doesn't need to be none? Like, brother just said the. Sean was starting today and everybody was still being cool because they're switching days.
James Deebo Harrison
I am trying my best.
Joe Harrison
You're trying to figure out why. Because that's what I was trying to do. I don't. I don't. I'm out the way. I want everybody. Like, I'm trying to give Todd Monken the benefit of the doubt because he came in at the rip. It's a quarterback competition. Da, da, da. Shador's gonna be getting his reps. Deshaun's gonna be get his reps. But when you come out and say today is Shador's day and Deshawn already knew it was his day and he gets out there and gets all the reps, that looks crazy to me.
James Deebo Harrison
As much as I'm trying to.
Joe Harrison
You trying to say something against what I'm saying.
James Deebo Harrison
I'm trying to. I'm trying. I see why you stutter when you ain't got nothing.
Joe Harrison
You just don't have. Yeah, you just don't have nothing. You have to agree.
James Deebo Harrison
You got it.
Joe Harrison
I got to disagree then when I stutter. Cuz you're right.
James Deebo Harrison
You're right.
Joe Harrison
You're right.
James Deebo Harrison
You're right.
Joe Harrison
You catch me stun.
Ice Cube Big Three Announcer
Look at him.
Joe Harrison
You're right.
James Deebo Harrison
They causing a whole bunch of confusion where it needs to be none. Like you said, that's something that could have been cleared up right there before a Shador is supposed to start. But I need to see, you know, I'm going to need to see, you know, Watson do this, that and the third.
Erin Andrews
But.
James Deebo Harrison
But I'm just telling you, that's just another example of the Browns, Browning, man, they don't know how to. They can't get out of their own way.
Joe Harrison
That's the only thing. That's what I.
Mount Washington
When.
Joe Harrison
When things like this. That's what you can say to me.
James Deebo Harrison
It's been like that forever.
Joe Harrison
I don't. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. This. This one right here is just a little. It's. It's off.
James Deebo Harrison
Since they came back. Who's been owner of the Brown since they came back?
Joe Harrison
Mr. Haslam. Well, it was Mr. Hasm bought it in probably 6, 14, 14, 13.
James Deebo Harrison
14, 13. How many Corsics you and I had since then?
Joe Harrison
A lot.
James Deebo Harrison
Listen, man, y' all got a. A very supportive base that ain't going
Joe Harrison
nowhere the fan base is not. I just want. I think that's the thing though. We got a lot of. The thing is defense. We're still getting players. Offense lines, good receipt. Like we're getting some squad, we're getting some players. So the quarterback is the main. But obviously. But we got Shador. We still have him at the. At the rookie contract. We still got Deshawn there. I just.
James Deebo Harrison
I ain't going to lie, Joe. I don't understand the concept of putting. Of putting Watson in there unless like Hasm said, he has a potential of actually saying, you know what, I'mma sign after Next year if you play well, which means you no longer have a competition and you don't get to see what Shador could do. And if you don't do that and then you don't sign him, you actually burn up a year that you could have saw what Shador did, which leads him closer to actually being a year closer to another contract.
Joe Harrison
We go this the thing too. We act in life. Once the season starts at the show, Washington starting, we going to be able to act like we won't be able to see both quarterbacks anyway. So I yeah, we'll still see. We're, we're going to see who ends up being the quarterback by. After the second preseason game, once they finally announce the starter, obviously you got
James Deebo Harrison
to announce your starter.
Joe Harrison
Announce your starter.
James Deebo Harrison
The second preseason game, if it's got
Joe Harrison
to be, it's going to because ain't
James Deebo Harrison
nobody gonna play in the third. The starter's not gonna play in the third.
Joe Harrison
No, because only three and I, this is my thing. If coach didn't just say that Shador was going to be. I don't, I'm not trying to just bully coach to be like, no, you got to start shore. If there's a really legit competition and coach thinks like they're kind of the same, you know what I'm saying? Like, I don't know, like Shador hasn't played good enough to literally take the spot from Deshaun. If he's going to let him play, then I'm, it's not like I'm trying to bully Chador to play, but I just want want coach to just obviously try to win. Make the best quarterback play that you think is the best and just don't, don't lie.
James Deebo Harrison
The lion. The lion got you. It's all right.
Audience/Chorus
It got me.
