hey guys, it's your favorite UNC here. Go ahead and click that subscribe button below so you don't miss a single episode of Nightcap. That button right here. Come for the sports, Stay for the stories. Joe Ocho, USA Day USA Today listed their top 25 greatest basketball players of all time, and here's the order. Order. Michael Jordan is the number one spot. LeBron was two. Kobe was three. Steph was four. Excuse me. Kareem is five. Magic is six. Larry Bird is seven. Bill Russell is eight. Wilt Chamberlain is nine. Shaquille O' Neal is ten. And then we go Tim Duncan, Kevin Durant, Allen Iverson, Oscar Robinson, Elgin Baylor, Jerry West, Julius Irving, Moses Malone, Kevin Garnett, Charles Barkley, Carl Malone, David Robinson, Isaiah Thomas, John Havlicek, George Michael, Michael Jordan, LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, Steph Curry, Kareem Magic Bird, Russell Chamberlain, o' Neill, like what you like, what you like, what you dislike.
Uncle Ocho
I don't know if I can really dispute any of that. I mean, because if you, if you, if you take something who you, if you putting somebody else in, who the hell you taking out?
Joe Ocho
Kareem ain't the fifth greatest player to ever play in the NBA. He's just not. Not with six NBA championships. Not with six MVPs. Not he's the second all time lead scorer. Not with the second most points, the third most rebounds. Ain't no way in hell.
Uncle Ocho
Are you saying he need to be up higher?
Joe Ocho
Hell, yeah.
Uncle Joe
Who you taking out?
Joe Ocho
I'm putting him in front of Kobe and Steph.
Uncle Ocho
Yeah. You know, they don't show the big man a lot of love. For real.
Joe Ocho
All he has, Joe was the most unstoppable shot ever created in basketball. That's all I know. Six MVPs. Do you believe? Do you believe there'll be another player to win six MVPs?
Uncle Ocho
Six MVPs. How many LeBron won? Three, four.
Joe Ocho
Four in a five year span. Jordan got five, Russell has five, LeBron and Chamberlain both have four. Larry Bird has three, Magic Johnson has three.
Uncle Ocho
It's gonna be hell against six, boy.
Joe Ocho
Well, that's what he has. Six. Six MVPs, six championships, two Finals MVPs, the third most rebounds and the second most points.
Uncle Ocho
Why you think you don't get the respect? Why you think you don't get that respect, huh?
Joe Ocho
Because Kareem was. Kareem was honorary. He was a surly. And say his name for me.
Uncle Joe
Kareem Abdul Jabbar.
Joe Ocho
Okay? That's not his God given name. He spoke out against things on a time when that was very, very unpopular.
Uncle Joe
Right?
Joe Ocho
Kareem ain't play.
Uncle Ocho
Yeah, Kareem. Where I lead when they at the
Joe Ocho
Summit in Cleveland and I think that was 67. There you go. Here go Jordan. Here, take this.
Uncle Ocho
He didn't call it through the. Through the screen.
Joe Ocho
Yeah, man, he done call whatever Ocho got. What? No, you ain't doing nothing. Hold on. Just list some bull jive. Now the king Elijah won. I'm throwing the whole list away. I don't even want to discuss it no more. Tell me they ain't got a Kim Elijah one on this list.
Uncle Ocho
Oh, yeah, they tripping, Akeem.
Joe Ocho
Elijah one ain't on the list,
Uncle Ocho
man. Who came up with the list?
Joe Ocho
USA Today. Let me make sure. Maybe I missed something. Ain't no way I'm taking David Robinson over Kim Elijah one. Ain't nobody taking David Robinson over Kim Elijah one. I'm not so sure. Fans in San Antonio taking David Robinson over Keem. Elijah 1. The dream. Come on now, y'. All. Y' all doing too much.
Uncle Ocho
Yeah, I don't know how, but you're
Joe Ocho
getting the reaction that you wanted. Y' all wanted to rage. Y' all wanted to get some clickbaits and you did it. I get it. That is some bull jive. Ain't no way David Robinson better than the King. No, ain't no way.
Uncle Ocho
He was a hell of a talent.
Joe Ocho
Yes. We're not debating that. Hell no. Damn.
Uncle Ocho
Hell, just to be on the list
Uncle Joe
is a achievement in itself.
Uncle Ocho
You know what I'm talking about?
Joe Ocho
Yes, sir. I would tell you a guy that don't get no damn credit. Tim Duncan, big fundamental. Tim Duggar don't get no credit, guys.
Uncle Ocho
That's because they say his game was boring. He was affected. I know. I don't either. He. He was a baller. Like, he got it done, bro. Ever since he joined the Spurs. Hell, they probably, they probably. They probably never even missed the playoffs. Maybe once because he was hurt, but
Joe Ocho
I don't know if they missed it then.
Uncle Ocho
Yeah, he turned their franchise around. I'm talking about from a rookie.
Joe Ocho
Yes.
Uncle Ocho
Yeah.
Joe Ocho
He's a three time finals mvp, a two time league mvp. How many times are all NBA? How many times all defensive?
Uncle Ocho
Yeah.
Joe Ocho
Ain't no way in hell. He. He 11th best. Different time all NBA, 15 time all defensive team.
Uncle Ocho
Hey, he did what he did. He did three years in college. Came out of junior year.
Joe Ocho
No, he came out. He stayed the whole time.
Uncle Ocho
He seen it. Oh, yeah, that's right. It ain't gonna happen.
Joe Ocho
Kenya Martin. He and Kenya Martin are the last guys to. To be seniors and go number one overall. Kenya was the last one. I think Kenya did it in 2000. Wow.
Uncle Ocho
You ain't getting that no more.
Joe Ocho
Ain't no damn way Big. I got that, man. They. They ain't got Elijah one on the list. They got dirt. They got Tim Duncan at Let me go. They get me mad. Hear me? Mad. Look, look, I love Carmelo. I love all them guys. They ain't better than Elijah one.
Uncle Ocho
Hey, that's. That's what the list is there for. It's. It's to piss you off.
Joe Ocho
It. It did because I saw list. Hold on. They got the greatest songwriters. I think the New York Times. Did you see the list about the New York Times Ain't got no Stevie Wonder. You know what? I ain't gonna get upset. Y' all even make me send my soul to hell. But y' all on some bull. A Kentucky man says Giants kicker Young Way cool. The cool, the easy part is that the ho have saved his life. After coup botched a field goal against the Patriots. Thoroughbred trainer Mark Toothaker says he laughed so hard at the myth that he triggered a violent seizure which sent him to the hospital. A CT scan then revealed a tennis ball sized tumor on his Brain doctors removed the tumor to Haker reportedly has no long term damage. He says coup miss was a miracle because the seizure could have happened while he was driving or somewhere much more dangerous.
Uncle Joe
That's crazy. That's a crazy story. Especially for the fact that they found your seizure based on someone's mistake. Someone's miss and you laughing at somebody. Oh, hey, that's crazy work.
Narrator/Announcer
Damn.
Uncle Joe
Young ho cool. Hey, uncle. We were butchering his name boy when
Joe Ocho
we was young way. Ain't no see young way. Our hiding is young way.
Uncle Joe
Oh, young way.
Uncle Ocho
Okay, hold on. So the man was laughing so hard that he, what, passed out or something?
Joe Ocho
Yeah, it triggered a violent seizure. So he ended up having a seizure. They take him to the hospital. A CT scan revealed he's got a tennis ball sized tumor on his brain.
Uncle Joe
Ooh, damn. That's a good thing. That ain't nothing but. That ain't nothing but a blessing. That boy.
Uncle Ocho
Saved the man's life.
Joe Ocho
He saved the man life, O Jojo.
Uncle Joe
Yeah, he did.
Joe Ocho
Yeah, some Falcons fans. So they damn life though. This is all the damn field goals he missed. That's why they got rid of him.
Uncle Ocho
Damn.
Joe Ocho
That's what they got rid of him, you know, that's why they got rid of him. And Atlanta. Atlanta. But to go back, Joe, ain't no way from. Ain't no way. Kareem. Kareem can't be. Can't get past three. Kareem can't get past three. He can't.
Uncle Ocho
You got, you gotta. You got a good valid point.
Joe Ocho
You're right, Coacho. He can't. I mean, no, look, everybody knows that. I think LeBron is the goat. And I think. And I, I've been very clear on this. I think the three greatest players ever was Kareem, Jordan and LeBron. People go back and forth. Ain't no way. Kareem is the fifth greatest player all time. Not with all those awards. Not with it. So what are you saying? He got. He went to 10 finals, he won six. He got six MVPs. He got finals MVPs. He's led the league of scoring. He's led the league in rebounding. He's a 19 time NBA All Star. He's probably. How many times did Kareem make all NBA? See, I think the thing of Joe, if we didn't see said player 15 time all NBA. How many times all defensive.
Uncle Ocho
Damn.
Joe Ocho
11 times. If we don't see a player. Joe and Ocho, it's kind of like rappers. If you didn't hear KRS1. If you didn't hear Rakim, if you didn't hear those guys, you didn't hear Big Daddy Kane. It's hard for you to put. You put them in place of guys that you currently hear.
Uncle Ocho
Absolutely.
Joe Ocho
He's a two time scoring champ. Two time block champ. How many times re time. Four time block champ. How many times rebounding champ. Oh, damn. You got to realize Kareem, I mean Kareem had season 31 and 17. 30, 32 and 13.
Uncle Joe
The whole season.
Joe Ocho
Yes.
Uncle Ocho
Yeah, he's a bad boy.
Joe Ocho
Now you can make the case if you combine, if you combine his high school, college and NBA, he's the greatest player in, in history of basketball. And it's not close. Nobody is close. When you compare high school, college and NBA, it's not close.
Uncle Ocho
Talking about from a winning standpoint, we
Joe Ocho
lost two games in college.
Uncle Ocho
Yeah. Yeah. From a winning standpoint. Yeah, you're right.
Joe Ocho
It ain't close. It ain't close. He's a three time champ. Freshman could not play when he came in. He's a three time NCAA champ. He's a three time player of the year. He's a three time most outstanding player. He's a six time NBA champ. He's a, he's a six time MVP. He's a two time finals MVP. A 15 time all NBA. 11 time all defensive.
Uncle Joe
Damn.
Uncle Ocho
With an unstoppable move.
Joe Ocho
The most unstoppable move ever created in basketball. Tell me somebody got a move. I like Jordan Fadeaway. I like Dirk One legged. I like Kevin durant. I like LeBron. Turn around. I like Dream Dream Shake. But ain't nothing. There's no basketball shot ever created that can touch the sky hook. And you know how I know how many? When Dirk did the one leg step back. Everybody do the one leg step back. Yogic do it. Durant does it. The turnaround, the dream shake. Everybody does it. Elvin Hayes was the first one to do to turn around Dream shake. Perfecting it. LeBron does it, everybody. Tell me how many players you seen throw the sky hook with regularity? And he wasn't throwing it from 3 to 5ft. He was throwing it from 15 to 18.
Uncle Ocho
Hell, imagine his teammate was throwing it.
Joe Ocho
And they call it the baby sky hook.
Uncle Ocho
Yeah. Yeah. Hey, you think Wimby can get to that sky hook?
Joe Ocho
Man, you gonna throw that ball over the damn top of the back. It's so damn tall.
Uncle Ocho
Yeah, he might be the only person who can get to that sky hook. Real tall.
Joe Ocho
But I think the thing is though, Joe, with any move you gotta practice. Doesn't look anything. I mean, people like, oh, the granny shot and all that other stuff. Rick bad shot, the percentage. Look at what Brick Brad shot from the free throw line shooting the granny shot.
Uncle Ocho
Damn.
Joe Ocho
We like stuff that look good, Joe. If it look good, we'll do it. If it don't look good, I can't mess with it.
Uncle Ocho
Yeah, that's, that's why the, the. The players continue to get more skilled. Each and every era, you get more skill. More skill.
Joe Ocho
It's okay.
Uncle Ocho
Yeah, yeah.
Joe Ocho
And I'm okay with that. Joe. It's hard for eras to understand. The players are getting better. They know more. Yeah, they know more. They take. They're able to take. It's kind of like medicine. So you think the Doctors in the 50s are more skilled than what they are today? No, because the doctors know more.
Uncle Ocho
Yeah.
Joe Ocho
They got better equipment, they got better medicine.
Uncle Ocho
Yeah.
Joe Ocho
But only players in the era don't feel like the players can supersede what they did. Everybody else understand medicine is better. Every technology is better. You think the technology that they had in the 30s, 40s and 50s and 60s is comparable to what they had in the 70s, 80s, 90s, and currently now?
Uncle Ocho
No, son.
Joe Ocho
No, you wouldn't think that. No. But I don't know why players refused to give that up. They call evolution. Yeah,
Uncle Ocho
yeah,
Joe Ocho
Yeah. Usa. Y' all did what y' all wanted to do.
Uncle Ocho
Yep. To get us.
Joe Ocho
They come out with, when they come out with the. The 50 greatest rappers or the 50 greatest R B singers or the 50 greatest bands or the 50 greatest whatever now, but I gotta throw you a curveball. Oo because if, if we get it close to right, you're not gonna talk about it.
Uncle Joe
Yeah. You can't.
Joe Ocho
I need you to talk about it.
Uncle Ocho
It's gotta start a debate.
Uncle Joe
You always gotta throw. Gotta throw a little controversy, throw a little monkey. Throw a little monkey wrench in there.
Joe Ocho
Yeah, they got, they a got Keem Elijah one on this thing.
Uncle Ocho
They ain't even get. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Joe Ocho
They treat him on the list, Joe.
Uncle Ocho
And they got Bill Russell on there.
Joe Ocho
Yeah, they got Bill Russell in the. Bill Russell is. Is 8. Is 8.
Uncle Ocho
Hey, hey. On another note, shout out, shout out to the Nightcap fam for that black street cover. That, that.
Joe Ocho
Hey, no diggity.
Uncle Ocho
Hey, boy, listen. Hey. Well, look my to bump that, okay? Oh. You hear me?
Joe Ocho
What?
Uncle Joe
That was throwback.
Uncle Ocho
Damn.
Uncle Joe
Super throwback.
Joe Ocho
Yeah, we, we. But it definitely had it, right? Cuz that's as far as I can Be able to get down. I wouldn't go no lower than that. If I did, I wouldn't be able to get up.
Uncle Ocho
Hey, well, I don't know. Whoever that is over there, they. They know a little something. Something. They know a little something.
Joe Ocho
Oh, yeah, they. Hey, they put it down now. I ain't gonna hold it. Hey, the Graphic Team, y' all been. Y' all been hitting it out of the park.
Uncle Ocho
I'm telling you. Doing a one, two, boy, send y'.
Joe Ocho
All. You gonna find out y' all favorite restaurant to eat. Cause we know.
Uncle Ocho
Yeah.
Joe Ocho
You saying every time I call this girl, she's somewhere eating. Hey, look, let me call she. Hey, I want a meeting. Oh, yeah, let me. I gotta place this order.
Uncle Ocho
Hey, hey, I'm gonna be out there early May, man, why I need to go eat at. What's the spot out there? Ass.
Joe Ocho
Well, you. Hey, Joe, hit your boy. We talk about it. I bet. Hey, Ojo, how you doing, man?
Uncle Joe
I told you where to go, Joe.
Uncle Ocho
Where?
Uncle Joe
Grits Cafe for breakfast, Soul food cafe for lunch.
Joe Ocho
You coming? You coming? You coming? You coming with your people? Are you coming by yourself?
Uncle Ocho
My lady may come with me, but I'm coming down. You know, they got the big three draft on the May 7th. Okay, but I'm probably. I'm probably get down there on like the 5th, though.
Joe Ocho
May 7th.
Uncle Ocho
Yeah, I got a few traps I gotta check when I get down there.
Joe Ocho
Oh, you got a few. Hey, we'll be here. Cause we don't leave till when we leave Jordan. Like the 10th of May, I think we. I think. Yeah, we'll be here, Joe. We go. You know you like steak? I got a good, good steak restaurant.
Uncle Ocho
Oh yeah.
Joe Ocho
If you like Italian. I ain't really no big Italian, but if you want to go, I. You know.
Uncle Ocho
Yeah. No, no. Well, I can do steak. I can do. Say I. I hit you up, see what you got going.
Joe Ocho
I know a good food truck.
Uncle Ocho
Yeah? What kind of food they got?
Joe Ocho
303 is one of the best food trucks in. You heard of it? I think as you ever heard. Yeah. This guy how she does if I mention a place?
Uncle Ocho
Oh, yeah.
Joe Ocho
Oh yeah. I went there the other night. I showed. These are if you get your ass into bed and stop going to try food at 1 o' clock in the morning, you could get some rest. But no, this, this. Listen, this is a bull jack. And we didn't get to the. The top the 50 greatest top songwriters or we'll do that tomorrow or rappers, but they got some bullshit there too.
Uncle Ocho
Oh. Oh, yeah. It's all. It's all meant to start a little controversy.
Joe Ocho
Well, they did it. They starting it. Yeah. Draymond. Draymond Green believes made a more of an offensive mark on his individual level. If Steve Kerr didn't prevent him from doing. Doing so as much as I. As much as he done for me, basketball, a part of me thinks he's hindered me in my career and what I could have become, but what he's also helped me become, like, you gotta take the good with the bad man, you know, When I think of who I am offensively as a player and who I became, I think part of that is due to him. I don't hold that against him. I'm forever grateful, and that still put me in position to be successful, and that's. I could become Draymond despite of my offensive role on the team, I think.
Uncle Joe
Hold on. Hey, John. Uncle Joe. Is he saying he could have been
Joe Ocho
more of an offensive weapon?
Uncle Joe
Yes, more of an offensive weapon.
Joe Ocho
He believes he could have still been the same defensive player, but more of an offensive player if Steve Kerr would have encouraged it or. Or put him in a situation where he can't succeed. Now, we do remember, Joe, that Game seven in the NBA Finals, he was a re. He was. He was a assist short of a triple double. He had 32, 15, nine, if I'm not mistaken.
Uncle Ocho
Yeah, he did. He did. I think when Draymond came to Golden State, Uncle Ocho.
Uncle Joe
Yeah.
Uncle Ocho
You know, he was coming off the bench.
Joe Ocho
Yes. Early.
Uncle Ocho
He wasn't. He wasn't starting.
Joe Ocho
Mark Jackson had, if I'm not mistaken, Mark Jackson had. Coming off the bench.
Uncle Ocho
Yeah, he had him coming off the bench. I think Bogey was starting somebody else at the court. Yeah.
Joe Ocho
And they have. And remember, they had also had Festus Azili.
Uncle Ocho
Yeah, yeah. And I think Bogey got hurt. When Bogey got hurt, I think that's when Draymond started. But I think he knew. He knew what that team needed. Draymond did, you know, his energy, his effort. You got Clay and Steph, who's shooting the blood out the ball. Man, if I can play the point. The point forward to where I could push this rock and, you know. Yeah. If they ain't guarding me, I can hand off the Steph. Get Steph shots. Get Clay shots. Hell, I'm gonna. We gonna be a pretty good damn team if I play great defense. Yeah. Hold up.
Joe Ocho
You know who it was starting? You remember David Lee, the guy that got from the Nets. David Lee.
Uncle Ocho
That's what Happened.
Joe Ocho
David Lee. That's what happened. He was tremendous.
Uncle Ocho
David Lee was all, yes, yeah.
Joe Ocho
People to people, get how good David Lee was. As a matter of fact, I just saw that. I saw him in Vegas about a year ago. He married Caroline Wolsniacki, the Great Dane, the tennis player. As a matter of fact, I saw. And Michael Phelps and his wife. Go ahead, Joe.
Uncle Ocho
Yeah, he went to Florida about six, nine. Lefty. Lefty. Yeah. I played in an All Star Game with him so he could play. But they got two totally different games. David Lee and Draymond Green.
Joe Ocho
David Lee got an offensive game. Draymond Green got a defensive game.
Uncle Ocho
There you go. Draymond Green got a defensive game. Uncle Ocho.
Joe Ocho
But he has great iq, he.
Uncle Ocho
Great intellect on where the ball should go and how to play. I think that's very underrated. When people speak on Draymond, I think he is very intelligent. He's a very intelligent player.
Joe Ocho
He understands the game.
Uncle Ocho
Despite not. Yeah. Despite not being a hell of a scorer, a hell of a shooter.
Joe Ocho
Yeah.
Uncle Ocho
He can make a shot, and occasionally he'll have some breakout games. But I thought his role was needed for the Warriors. Hell, they won four championships.
Joe Ocho
I'm trying to figure out, so what did he expect to be? But you know what? You know what? Scottie Pippen said that if. You know, with Jordan, I could have been this. And Scotty, when Jordan retired, Scotty was the all star game MVP. He averaged like 22.
Uncle Ocho
Yeah.
Joe Ocho
But I believe Scotty people was more of an offensive threat than Draymond is.
Uncle Ocho
Oh, yeah. Yeah. No question. No question.
Joe Ocho
And. And so I just. And as I was reading what Draymond was saying, I kind of understand, but I'm like, well, damn, it's like, bro,
Uncle Joe
what could it be? What could it be, though, Uncle Joe, let's say, if Stephen Clay wasn't there, what type of office of presence would Draymond provides?
Joe Ocho
Not going to the hall of Fame. Draymond is not on the International. He's not on the United States men's team. That's not happening.
Uncle Ocho
Right. If he. If he didn't have.
Joe Ocho
He didn't have Stephanie Clay.
Uncle Ocho
Yeah. I mean, he.
Joe Ocho
He.
Uncle Ocho
He. I mean, the two. Arguably the. Well, not arguably Steph, the greatest shooter ever, but Clay Hill, right. Standing right next to him.
Uncle Joe
Yeah.
Uncle Ocho
I mean, they're the greatest two shooters
Joe Ocho
that's ever been assembled on one team, and it's not close.
Uncle Ocho
And when you. Yeah. And those runs that the warriors were making when they were winning titles, bro, you gotta look at Draymond Green's role on that team, the way he played defensively, the way he pushed the rock when he got the rebound, the way he play make and play defense, bro, every team needs somebody like that. You just don't get a guy like that. Cause we call that dirty work. Everybody don't wanna do the dirty work.
Uncle Joe
Dirty work.
Uncle Ocho
Yeah, you know what I mean? Like, you gotta really want it to, to, to. You got to really want to be successful and really put your stamp on the game. You got to be a little different bro, to, to play like that. So I commend him on his four titles. I don't know if he, you know, wanted to be a 20. Come on, man. I don't know if he wanted to
Joe Ocho
be a. Yeah, I just don't know. I just don't. Me personally, I don't know. I don't know. I don't think if he's not on that team, I'm not so sure he makes an all star team.
Uncle Ocho
Listen, listen. If he ain't on the team, hell, the warriors will have trouble winning them damn titles. They were winning, right? Yeah.
Joe Ocho
His role was needed, but for him, here's the thing. But to look outside and says, you know what, to do this. But they didn't need you to score. So now you guys, so now you got Clay, Steph and kd. So now if you thinking you're a score, you bring Katie. How did that work? It worked because everybody understood their role.
Uncle Joe
Their role? Yeah.
Joe Ocho
KD doesn't have to play make. Draymond, you're going to be able to play make. And occasionally. Steph, Steph, you gonna do what you. Hey, you'll get a lot of picks. Just keep running. We're gonna run you off these picks. And when we absolutely need a basket, we got a seven foot guy that we can turn his back to the basket. We dump it down there to him. And. And you better not bring a double team because Steph is in one corner and Clay is in the other.
Uncle Ocho
Yeah, yeah. And I, I, I like how he mastered his role. Meaning, damn, they ain't gonna even guard me if I'm standing at this three. But guess what? As soon as I catch the ball, I'm going right to a dribble handoff. And you come off of me, you gonna be wide open. Cause my man way in the damn paint, you feel me? He's mastered that uncle and Ojo, which I think took them to another level. Meaning as they kept continued making it to the finals and winning titles like he mastered his Role to the T, bro. I don't know what else he was expecting or looking for, but he had a hell of a career. Hell, he gonna be a horror.
Joe Ocho
I'll tell you what. When Steph Curry wasn't in the lineup and Klay was gone, how did Draymond look? Y'?
Uncle Joe
All?
Uncle Ocho
Pedestrian. Yeah.
Joe Ocho
See, we lose sight of that when Steph Curry's not in the lineup. How does Draymond look? And Draymond's fabulous. Like you said, Jo, he's into the hall of Fame and deservedly so. He's a two time Olympic champ. He's a defensive player of the year. He's an all NBA defensive player. He's an all NBA player. There's no denying what he's been able to do. But take a look when Steph Curry isn't in the lineup. What a Draymond. That's his opportunity. Let me show you what I can do. Oo, yeah. When?
Uncle Joe
When has he. How's he supposed to summoned up something he'd never been given an opportunity to do?
Joe Ocho
That's your opportunity. Because you ain't got somebody that go get 30. So that's your opportunity to show you a wide receiver, you a backup, you the number two, number three. If number one goes down. This is Ocho's opportunity to show. Y' all need to give me some reps. Even when one comes back, I will need my touches.
Uncle Ocho
Look at Terence Shannon tonight for Minnesota Ocho.
Uncle Joe
Hey, but, but listen. See, you gotta say, Shannon wasn't getting the opportunity.
Uncle Ocho
Wait, hold on.
Uncle Joe
But his role was always defensively. His role was always facilitating for Klay and goddamn stuff when they were out.
Joe Ocho
So what had to take place for Shannon to get his opportunity? Ant man had to go out do Somo had to be out. So Harry's opportunity when Steph is hurt. Cause Steph has missed a lot of time. That's his opportunity. Okay? Now it's my time to shine.
Uncle Ocho
Yeah. Yeah.
Uncle Joe
Asia did took over.
Joe Ocho
That ain't this game. He can't do something.
Uncle Ocho
That ain't his game, bro.
Joe Ocho
That's like you said. You know what? I'm gonna go play tight end. That ain't what you do.
Uncle Ocho
Get his ass steamroll trying to play tight.
Uncle Joe
Little ass can't now. You gonna get steamrolled, boy.
Uncle Ocho
Hey, little ass can't block nothing here.
Uncle Joe
You gonna get steamroll.
Joe Ocho
We all look, we all look back. Ocho, you probably thinking, man, if I didn't have TJ data gave me more balls. Let me get. Let me get another. Like those Targets that they gave Hoosh, let me get 50 of those. Now I'm averaging 110, 115 catches a season. We all. We can all play this, Joe. Like, man, if I'd have went to somewhere like Atlanta and I could have started my first four years, man, look at my numbers. I already scored 20,000. Now I'm a starter. Not coming off the bench. I might have 25, 26,000. We all do that. It's just human nature.
Uncle Joe
Hey, when Dre was at Michigan State, was he a scorer?
Joe Ocho
No.
Uncle Ocho
Nah, I think he probably. What? He probably averaged about 12 points a game.
Uncle Joe
Okay.
Joe Ocho
The only guy. Really. The only guy that you saw that I didn't see this becoming was Anthony Davis. Yeah, Anthony Davis was a defensive player. Yeah. Yes. Anthony Davis averaged, like, 12, 14 points,
Uncle Ocho
but he probably averaged about six points.
Joe Ocho
He did. And another night and another. Probably, like, 10 rebounds. Yes.
Uncle Ocho
Yeah. Yeah, yeah.
Joe Ocho
And then he gets to the league, and you like, what the hell? How you averaging 27, 27, 28, and 12?
Uncle Joe
Hey, every. Every night.
Joe Ocho
Yeah.
Uncle Ocho
Hey. Hey. Cause you get to polish that game you got when you get to the pros. Cause, hell, guess what? All your job is to do is come to this gym, get them damn shots up, work on your game. If anything else is more important than that, then we got problems. Period, point blank. That's why they draft cats on potential.
Joe Ocho
Yes.
Uncle Ocho
You know, okay. Boom.
Joe Ocho
Okay.
Uncle Ocho
Potentially.
Joe Ocho
Damn.
Uncle Ocho
If he could develop a 15 footer, if he could develop the three.
Uncle Joe
Yeah.
Uncle Ocho
I mean, he gonna be a hell of a player. But right now, he can't hit Nathaniel. Yeah. So that's part of development, bro. When you get to the pros, they gonna get it out you. Uncle Ocho. Y' all know it.
Joe Ocho
Draymond, senior season at Michigan state, he averaged 16 points, 10 rebounds. He was All American for his career, though. He averaged 10 points, eight rebounds, three assists.
Uncle Ocho
He said he did four years.
Joe Ocho
Yes.
Uncle Ocho
Yeah. I mean, hell, there's some hell of a stats you're seeing. You're 16 and 10. Yeah, but did he get drafted second round? That's why his opportunity came a little later. But, hell, hey, it's a prime example, bro. You give a man an opportunity, hey, you never know what can happen from that, bro.
Joe Ocho
But what he was looking to be wasn't what Golden State needed. Golden State needed janitors and cashiers. They didn't need bank presidents. They didn't need bank managers. They didn't need CFOs and COOs. Sometimes we try to create a role that they're not hiring. And then what? That's what people need to understand. What are they hiring, man, I'm qualified to do, but that's not what they're hiring. So when you don't get the job or it doesn't work out, you get mad. They told you what they were looking for, right? But that's not the job that you wanted to interview for, Ocho. They tell you to say, man, look here, we need a lion cook. We need a lion cook. They told you what? They needed a lion cook, right? And I work the register. No, we don't need the cashier. We don't need nobody on the register. I told you. We need a line cook or we need servers or we need greeters.
Uncle Ocho
Hey, look, my rookie year, I played for the. I got drafted by the Boston Celtics playing with Paul Pierce and Antoine Walker. Paul second. He was second in scoring in the NBA, third in scoring that year. Antoine Walker was at like 22, 24 a night. Uncle Ocho, I knew damn well my offensive opportunity was gonna come. Far few in between.
Joe Ocho
Yes, sir.
Uncle Ocho
But guess what? Guess what? When he threw me out there on that damn court, I was hustling. I was in the passing lane just before all this ISO stuff people talking about. Yeah, hey, I was balls to the wall. You hear me? I'm talking about playing the best defense I possibly can. Cause the one thing when I was playing, I never wanted coach to have an excuse to take me off the court, bro. You know what I mean? Damn, we need some defense. Who I. I got him, coach. Don't worry about it. Who you want me to get? I got him. I was guarding point guards, two guards, small forwards, powerful. I'm telling you, bro, you have to find your niche. And. And you have to find a way to stick when you get to the pros. Because guess what? When you get to the pros, we all probably was great score, scores. But, hell, when you get there, man, it's probably gonna. It's gonna be a pecking order. It's already gonna be a guy, too, hell, who already pretty damn good, who can score the ball. They ain't gonna really need that from you right now. What else can you bring to make us complete as a team? You have to figure that out, because the answers ain't gonna be right there, you know, off dump. You know what I'm saying? You have to figure it out. As the game go and I was looking, I was like, damn, it's some nice Uncle Ocho. I was getting four shots a night. Like, damn, I'm playing 30 minutes. Then it be other nights. I may get 12 shots, right? And I ain't never trip off that. Hey, look, I was living the American dream. Something I dreamed about as a kid. And I got an opportunity. I'm gonna be out here playing some hell of a defense. I'll tell you this.
Joe Ocho
And eventually, straight up, when you show what you can do. Jsn, he came in. What did they do? Ocho Lock it. Gone. Trade dk.
Uncle Joe
Yeah. And the opportunities, boy, all you got
Joe Ocho
to do is show, and so that's what you got to do. Guys get injured. Hey, them guys got injured, man. Let me show what I can do. I know I can. Hey, I ain't said I'm the best tight in the league in my second or third year. But I tell you what. Yeah, better than what we got. I know that for certain. Let me show you. Now. Guess what? Now they started moving on for some of them veteran receivers. Now I'm really going to get an opportunity. Cause seven oh me. Yeah, he been working with me for three years. All the rest of you guys, you coming in already, got a step above. I'm already. I'm already in his good graces. He know one or two things. It's going to be a catch, it's going to be incompletion. Or I'm gonna knock hell out of somebody because he ain't gonna intercept it.
Uncle Ocho
So, hey, I'm with you on that. That's what a lot of these young cats got to understand, bro. We don't know when your opportunity gonna come. It may come mid season. Hell, it may come for me. It came like the fourth game of the season. Cause somebody, Eric Williams, got hurt. So I got thrust into the starting lineup. Uncle Ocho. Yo, I never came out that damn starting lineup once I got in there, you hear me? I developed some value for myself. That's why they traded my ass. You hear me? Yeah, I'm just keeping real like, you know, when you a youngster, you don't really know why, you know, Especially when you in your rookie year, I'm like, damn, why they trade me? I'm playing great. We the number two team in the East. The Celtics hadn't made the playoffs since, shit, four, five, six years. Yeah, they got a little value. No, they don't believe in rookies like that. So let's go get some veteran help. They went and got Tony Dell, Rodney Rodgers, you know what I mean? Sent me to Phoenix. So when that opportunity presents itself, you gotta take advantage of it, bro.
Joe Ocho
Prime example look at Dennis Rodman, man. Dennis Robert probably had like 5 points a game, but that Mofo averaged 15 rebounds a game. He carved out a net for himself on that side of the ball. Look, I know it's glamorous to put the ball in the basket. I know it's. It's just like our offense, Ocho. Everybody want to throw the ball, catch the ball and score the touchdown touchdowns. Yeah, but there's a role for you on the other side of the ball, man.
Uncle Ocho
Listen, and if you do it at a high level, like you say, Dennis Rodman, that man, every five points still had his own shoe.
Joe Ocho
Yes.
Uncle Ocho
Yeah, he probably. Man, he was on the Bulls. Hell, he's probably damn near as popular as Michael Jordan.
Joe Ocho
Sports Illustrated doing W. Doing WWE, Royal Rumble, all that WrestleMania, all that. Ocho, dating the bad. What, Madonna? Karma dating the baddest women. Ain't some games. The man have 25, 26 rebounds, no points,
Uncle Ocho
not even a shot attempt. Hey, but guess what he doing? He doing it at a high level.
Joe Ocho
That's all you gotta do.
Uncle Ocho
And that's what you gotta do.
Joe Ocho
Bad boy Pistons,
Uncle Ocho
they had.
Joe Ocho
Isaiah was scoring Dumars. But, hey, everybody else, Sally, Sal, Lambert, Mahorn, Rodman,
Uncle Ocho
Whatever your role, I'm doing
Joe Ocho
the best job I can in the role that I currently in. That's all I can do. Eventually, I'll do enough, I promise you. If Draymond would have shown them that he could be a 17 point a game score and still play that level of defense, I don't believe they would. I don't. I believe they would have done that. Because.
Uncle Ocho
Yeah, yeah, I think for Draymond, if he was a. If he was just a little better shooter, his numbers would be a lot better. But for the most part, bro, I hope he don't beat himself up behind all this, because, man, you got some cats who ain't even never even seen the finals.
Joe Ocho
He done made a quarter of a billion. I hope he don't beat himself up. Four rings, four or two Olympics, man, you don't. You dpoy. He gonna have his number. I mean, number retired in Golden State.
Uncle Ocho
Come on, man. How many times did they go to the finals? I know they won four. Come on, man. What are we talking about?
Joe Ocho
And Joe, he go. And you, Steph and Clay, y' all locked.
Uncle Ocho
What, y' all together forever? Yeah. Hell, they probably gonna put a statue, all three of y' all ass out.
Joe Ocho
Just like the Yankees with Posada, Andy Petty, Derek Jeter and Mo Rivera. The Big Four, they together.
Uncle Ocho
Yeah.
Joe Ocho
I mean, Mo Rivera, probably, man. Man, hey, I could have been a starter. You just the greatest closer of all time.
Uncle Ocho
Right? Right.
Joe Ocho
But Draymond, you had a hell of a career, bro. Don't. Like Joe said, don't beat yourself up about it. Don't even worry about it. Just, hey, you got a great family. You got. Hey, when you're in Silicon Valley, you get an opportunity to meet, because think about what you've been able to put yourself in because you've won. You've got to get in on some great upstarts.
Uncle Joe
Yeah.
Joe Ocho
Made a ton of money. You might have made. Draymond, might have made more money. You look at Steve Young and all them guys out there in San Francisco to get on me, tech companies and get in on Uber and get in on Google, get in from the ground floor, and next thing you know, oh, you let on 20x50x their money.
Uncle Joe
Money. Yeah, big time,
Uncle Ocho
Guys.
Joe Ocho
The spurs beat the Blazers 114 to 95 to close out this series in a gentleman. Sweet. The spurs first playoff wins in nine season. They take on the winner of the Nugget Timberwolves. They got up to this big lead. Portland would not go away. I think they cut it down to like nine, maybe 10 points. But that was as close as they could get as the spurs pull away and fashion and win by 19 points. Joe, what did you like about. What did you like about what you saw from the Spurs? Because they came with the game with a singular focus. They jumped on them right away and really didn't look back until late in the ballgame. They made that run, but the spurs and their head coach have to be very, very pleased with what he saw from his team tonight.
Uncle Ocho
Yeah, I think they did what they were supposed to, Uncle Ocho. You know, considering the fact that, you know, they want to go and get this series over with, man, they. They played great on the road, was able to come. Was able to get two victories on the road, being down double figures on. On the road and being able to pull those games out. So you come back home 3 1. Man, you want to get these guys out the way to alleviate injuries and get you. Get you a little rest and prepare for the next series. So I thought it was great. I think they attack you in waves, bro. They like even to start the game. Basil started the game. Him and Chad Penny started the game. So hot. It's like, damn, if those go. If those guys get going, Uncle Ocho, you gonna have hell. Cause I don't know how you gonna turn off Wemby and Fox and Castle and Harper, you know what I mean? They just got so many guys who can attack, they play the right way, they're very unselfish. And they're all playmakers, bro. You got on the perimeter, you got three guys who can break the defense down at any point in time. Fox, Castle and Harper. You can't stay in front of them. They can go get theirs and they can create for the big fella and everybody else around them. I think they just have a complete team who is dangerous, not only offensively, but defensively. They bring it every night, bro. They bring it every night.
Joe Ocho
Joe, you said something very interesting that they do come at you in waves and a five point lead. And next thing you know, before the opposing team can call a timeout, you're down 14, man, it was just 5 and nice 14. And if you're not careful, that 14 goes to 21 and you gotta call another time. Yeah, man, you watch de' Aaron Fox when he called for that pick and roll and he get that big on him. Yeah, bro, you might as well go ahead and drop coverage. Just go stand up under the rim. Cause you're not fitting to stay in front of him because he about to hit you with that hazard, that head fake, hands right to the rib. He go, clegan, like, I don't know what y' all want me to do. Y' all expect him with Williams? Like, y' all really thought I was gonna stay in front of him? Yeah, y' all with zero chance. But like you said, you look, they had six guys in double figure. Harper comes off the bench, go six or nine. He has 17 points. Six guys in double figures. They shoot. They shoot 55 from the floor. You let a team shoot 55% from the floor, you're probably going to lose every time.
Uncle Ocho
Every time.
Joe Ocho
Probably going to lose.
Uncle Ocho
And.
Joe Ocho
And they. Look, the thing is that kept him, that kept Portland in the game, is that they turned the ball over. Yeah, he got a little careless with the basketball, but this is a very good team. And Jokic, you remember Jokic and Wimby, they kind of been battling.
Uncle Ocho
Yeah.
Joe Ocho
You know, the two countrymen, Gobert and Wimby. Yeah. And Wimby said, look, it's a passing of the torch. You know, we changing. We changing this thing, we changing. Ocho, what'd you like about what you saw from San Antonio?
Uncle Joe
Man, I really enjoyed it. The thing about them in this series, even though it was a gentleman sweep, every time they played, each night they did play the Blazers, it was Always somebody different. If it wasn't Castle, it was Vasso. If it wasn't Vasso, it was Fox. If it wasn't Fox, it was Wimby. So what it reminds me of, and I'm gonna use football terminology for those that don't know, because I don't know the basketball game the way you guys do it reminds me of the goddamn greatest show on turf where you had to play the goddamn Rams, where every time they had a game, Joe boy, it was by committee. It was always somebody different. Either Oz Hakeem or Isaac Bruce or was Marshall Falk or hell, it was Torrey Holt. But either way, they got the job done every single time in a different way throughout the entire. I mean, throughout the season, obviously. I mean, where they played in the same way. It reminded me of that. I don a comparison in basketball term because I don't have a knowledge of the game the way you guys do. But I mean, I. I enjoyed it. I think the spurs are a legit contender to get to the finals. The only team I see with the type of. Type of depth, not only offensively, but having the bench to deal with them would probably be what's young young bull out of okc. That's about it. Hey, Joe, what do you do when you don't know who to stop? You don't know who to stop, Joe. And if you do stop one person here, you got four other killers on your head.
Uncle Ocho
Hey, it is tough. Akin Ocho. I think the great thing about the spurs, when you look at it, man, Fox don't have to be amazing every night, but when it comes to down the stretch. Ankin Ocho.
Uncle Joe
Yeah.
Uncle Ocho
Hey, man, that boy step up every time, you know what I mean? It's kind of like he flows through the game. Yeah, some nights he gonna have 27:30, but for the most part in the fourth, that's when he gonna do his damage. Cause these dudes come out so hot and everybody get the free flowing. He just kind of control in the game, Uncle Ocho. He just making sure he keep everybody involved and he know his time gonna come. You know, he's a veteran guy, veteran presence. You need that, bro. Especially a guy at the helm, running the point guard, making sure, you know, everybody's in the right spots. And then in them clutch moments in the fourth quarter, under six minutes, under five minutes. He's gonna deliver, bro. He's been doing it this whole series. Being clutch in the fourth quarter, making big shots, making big plays when needed. He ain't just scoring, he out there fighting defensively, too. I think that's the separator of the Spurs. Everybody defends, bro. It ain't. I know Wemby a hell of a. He a hell of a backdrop back there, but for the most part, them guys on the perimeter, they defending. But if you get by them, I don't know how you plan on scoring the ball.
Joe Ocho
If you go back and look at it, when Portland made that run, when they came out of the timeout, who. Who did they put the ball in? His hands? Fox.
Uncle Ocho
Yeah, Fox.
Uncle Joe
Yeah.
Joe Ocho
He pick and roll. Pick and roll. Pick and roll. He doing his thing now. Vassal. At the first time, Vassal came out and he came out to pick and he did a pick and he ended up getting a. Like a mid. A free throw line jumper.
Uncle Ocho
Yeah.
Joe Ocho
After that, Fox had the ball, called for the pick and roll, got the big. Got the matchup that he wanted, and boom, right by him he went.
Uncle Ocho
Because.
Joe Ocho
So. But I like the fact. Look, they like Castle. You got to learn about. You got to learn on the job. I can't take the ball out of your hands every time. I got to get you used to handling situations like this. Because what happens if they take Fox away? What if they put their best defender on Fox and we need you. That when you have an advantage to take advantage of it. So I like the. The fact. But I also like the fact that Castle, Castle guard, yeah, he's gonna pick up foul, but he plays his ass off. Yeah, he defends. I mean, he defends everybody. I don't give a damn. You the point guard, the two, the three, the four. Hell, hey, he got down there trying to bang with clinging. Yeah, he doesn't care. I love that about him. But like I said, when you look at these guys, six or nine. Wemby only shot the ball seven times. Eight of 14, four of 11. Six of 11, man.
Uncle Ocho
Hey, think about it. Castle. Not only does he defend Ocho, but he got a little nastiness in him, too.
Joe Ocho
Oh, yeah. You can tell he don't play no games now.
Uncle Joe
Hey, Joe, you can remember you got them back. Them back to back fouls.
Uncle Ocho
Yeah, yeah.
Uncle Joe
I mean, I thought Kobe was gonna take him out the game.
Uncle Ocho
You need that, bro. You need guys. You know, he ain't shying away from no challenge, no contact, no nothing. And then to speak to Fox and Wemby in the pick and roll. Yeah, man, that pick and roll. So hard to stop with them, too, for a number of reasons. First off, you don't wanna switch. Cause you know, Wemby automatically gonna have a mismatch. So that's why they. I mean, yeah, that's why they switching and you. You end up getting them five men guarding the point guard. Hell, he ain't got a chance. He ain't got a chance, bro. Cause they breaking them down. They. They. It's gonna be a blow by either a layup or spray out of three or a lob. They just. Yeah, they got too many guys and they hit you in so many ways, bro. And then Wemby, he's just so special. I'm talking about defensively. The way he fly swatting shots up out of there, man. It'll make anybody second guess about going up in that paint. Yeah.
Joe Ocho
You ain't gonna throw my thing up and get me on. I get on Sports center car. You threw my. Threw my shot up in the third row. Normally it's a dunk or, you know, I made somebody touch earth. Now you putting me on Sports center coffee. He fly swatted my shot. And I think the thing is, is that if you look at it, you don't have no choice. If you. A big. If you. If. If you don't show, all you're gonna do is give him a wide open three. Yeah, I mean, there are times that Castle was shooting, shoot around threes, what, nobody in the vicinity. Because the big didn't want to come out or. And have Wimby do the lobby when he comes downhill. So now you go ahead and take that. Yeah, Castle, Vassal, Vassell, all those guys, they're going to have shots because of Wimby. Yeah, because Wemby can shoot. But the last thing I want him to do is get that switch and then he beats the guy and he comes downhill and he lobs it, and then he'll go. Wimby dunking it on somebody's head, getting the crowd into it.
Uncle Joe
And you know what else they done showed you, too, also, Uncle Joe?
Uncle Ocho
What's that?
Uncle Joe
When Wemby's not playing, they still able to function offensively, even in on defense, you know? Okay. We don't have that presence. We don't have that presence in the paint. Offensively, they still doing the same thing. It's by committee. You just don't know whose night is going to be what. He's not in there. They showed us he could do that. The shit of hell. They showed that during the regular season, too.
Joe Ocho
Cornet's been giving us some good minutes, too, Joe. I mean, he don't play much. I mean, he had 13 minutes. He gave him five points. He's perfect from the floor, perfect from the free throw line. Three rebounds, three assists. That's all you need. You don't need him to try to match Wimby numbers. Hey, just play solid defense just in case he gets in foul trouble. Be able to knock down, be able to a roll to the basket and get a lob, get a layup, a defend, just a little bit. We don't expect you to be Wimby.
Uncle Ocho
Yeah.
Joe Ocho
But you are seven foot tall, so block some shots, make them. Yeah, because women, hey, they throw, they missing the whole damn goal. They see Wimby up there. Hey, listen. Nah, I don't even know.
Uncle Ocho
All they need from Cornet is. Is energy and effort.
Joe Ocho
That's it.
Uncle Ocho
That's it. You bring that. But to speak on Portland, man, they. They won a couple games in this series. I mean, they won one game.
Joe Ocho
Yeah.
Uncle Ocho
And I think those first two games in San Antonio, I think what they can take from. What Portland can take from that is they gotta find a way for Scoot to be consistent. Cause, you know, these past couple games, he ain't really gave them nothing. They ain't had a chance. They ain't have a chance to handle.
Joe Ocho
I think the game they won, wasn't it the game they won, he had 27.
Uncle Ocho
Yeah. I think the first game he had like 25. The second game he had like 30. I think the first two games, you know, he was balling out. I was thinking, like, man, if he gonna play like this. Cause he's the one guy who has that youth on his side, youth and athleticism on his side. And who can. Who can attack, you know, in the open court and make plays, right? He just kind of. I don't know. When they got back to Portland, he just wasn't the same.
Joe Ocho
But here's the thing, though, Joe. The problem is he only played 17 minutes. Everybody else, I mean, you played the same number of minutes as backup guys. Yeah, he's not gonna be able to. You gotta. You got to let him have. You got to let him have some run. Look, Kamara had 33 minutes, and then he had 32 minutes. Clingan had 27, Holiday had 40. You give. You give a starter, all those guys played at least 27 minutes to start a lineup. He got 17. So he's probably looking around like, damn, now what's gonna happen next year when Dame comes back?
Uncle Ocho
That's what I want to know. They got some decisions to make. You can't carry what you gonna do.
Joe Ocho
I mean, you're Gonna let. I mean, you'd like to keep Holiday because he's a veteran presence. He can defend, play both ends of the court.
Uncle Joe
Hey, hey, Uncle Joe. Let's say Dame. When Dame does come back next year, Joe, you say that they have some decisions to make based on what? You saw this series. The decision shouldn't be that hard. Well, it shouldn't be that hard because you see, when it's nut cutting time, who you can depend on, who can score.
Uncle Ocho
Yeah, but you don't want to stunt the growth of some of these young cats like School Henderson, you know what I mean? Like if you send them to the bench. If you send him to the bench, Uncle Ocho. Damn. I mean, just go ahead and move it. That's all I'm saying. Like I. But you know, at this. At the same time, he the youngest out of Dame and Holiday, so I don't know if. Is Holiday on the contract? Is he a free agent?
Joe Ocho
I think they might have. They might have gave Holiday extension. Look and see if they gave Holiday extension. Plus the fact Sheldon Sharp, what they gonna do with him? He gave six minutes, y'.
Uncle Ocho
All.
Joe Ocho
He can't do anything with that. And I remember in the middle of the season, he was playing well, man.
Uncle Ocho
They was featuring him in the offense, man, it don't even make sense to me. I'm like, how this man go from not even playing. He can't even get no clock. He don't even look like the same player when he is out there.
Joe Ocho
Oh, shit. Shady Sharp.
Uncle Ocho
Cool Shaden Sharp. Yeah. I don't know, man. I don't know. I thought that Portland liked him, but he's been a non factor here. You ain't really noticed him in this series.
Joe Ocho
Nope. He playing basically Map. I mean, he played six minutes tonight. He. I mean, think about it, Joe. He had five points in six minutes. Now I don't know if he's not playing deep, I don't know what's going on, but it's gonna be a similar situation where you're gonna have to treat it like. Like Philly did with Jerry McCain. Remember, Jerry McCain was playing really well. He broke his ankle. He didn't play the rest of the year. They draft BJ Edscom and guess what they said. Nah, we ain't got no more room for you, bro. Instead of just have him sit on the bench and come out the bench. Trade him. They traded him to okc. Yeah, a reliable and valuable backup. Because, you know, now with Edge, command and. And Maxi. You just gave Maxi Max deal. Yeah, he ain't gonna get no, he ain't gonna get no real minutes. Nope. So I. If that's the case, you might as well do something very similar to with school.
Uncle Ocho
Yeah, you're gonna have to. The only, only thing is you got two veteran guards that's in the, in like their mid-30s. Meaning Damon Holiday. I don't know if you want to get rid of him though, Uncle.
Joe Ocho
You gonna.
Uncle Ocho
That youth and athleticism that he has, they gotta hope that he can find some, some way to be consistent throughout the season and maybe maybe still be the future. I don't know. If you get rid of him. Cause you, you gonna be relying on two mid 30 year olds and you know how that, you know how that that can go.
Joe Ocho
Yeah, Damon's coming, Damon's coming off an injury. Coming off an Achilles injury. Now the difference is he didn't rush back. He had plenty of time to recover and it should be good. He should be good.
Uncle Ocho
Good.
Joe Ocho
Let's hope he's good. Let's hope he can get back. Because if he can get back to. I mean I'm watching Jason Tatum and hell if you didn't know, you wouldn't know Jason Tatum had that injury. Nah, you wouldn't know Kevin Durant had that injury.
Uncle Ocho
No.
Joe Ocho
So if Dame can come back and be Dame, they're going to be a dangerous team. But even when Dane was at his apex, I mean coming out of the west, considering what OKC is not currently considering, what you see with the San Antonio spurs are currently. If Denver could stay healthy, what they are currently, the T Wolves are always dangerous. Because Ant man, it's just going to be hard. But I just don't know. You know, Danny is amazing. He's been an all star holiday school. They got to make some decision. Look, the team is being sold. Yeah, this is what we know, the team is being sold. But they got some decisions to make and it seemed like the. The owner's already doing cost cutting moves. They gotta check out by 12 cause they don't wanna get charged for an extra day. They didn't get playoff T shirts. So they've already making. So it looks like to me, Joe, they've already started the cost saving.
Uncle Ocho
Yeah, but I don't understand that though. I don't know why they owner would do such a thing, bro. Why he would act like that. Like you don't get no playoff shirts, bro. This is like. This is the best part of the season. Uncle Ocho.
Joe Ocho
Yes.
Uncle Ocho
You going there, you got that hotel.
Joe Ocho
Joe, you gotta check out by 12. Cause we don't get charged for extra day.
Uncle Ocho
The first bus ain't until 3 o'. Clock. You mean we got.
Joe Ocho
What you going over to the. The stadium? Get your locker, get your headphones on, get right.
Uncle Joe
Hey, Joe. It's a reason they billionaires, boy.
Uncle Ocho
Hold on, though. Hold on, though. What are these? What these guys coming from who buying the team or who own the team right now?
Joe Ocho
Own the Hurricanes. Tom. Tom Dunning.
Uncle Joe
The Carolina Hurricanes? Yeah, yeah, hockey team, man.
Uncle Ocho
See, you know, different sports do different business, bro. Yeah.
Uncle Joe
Hey, they straight. Straight business mind, Joe. Straight business, man.
Uncle Ocho
Come on.
Uncle Joe
Not about owning. Listen, owning the sports team is a hobby for them.
Uncle Ocho
I get all that, Ocho, but you can't be making guys check out, bro. The first bus ain't to 3 o'. Clock. What we gonna do? Sit in the lobby?
Joe Ocho
Yes, in the lobby. Hold your bag.
Uncle Ocho
Come on, man. Come on, come on. What are they doing that at?
Joe Ocho
You better ask for a late checkout.
Uncle Ocho
You got to.
Uncle Joe
Hey, that's funny, man.
Uncle Ocho
This day I'll get changed.
Joe Ocho
It's tough, you know? That's a part of Paul Allen, former park, rest his soul. He owned. He owned the Trailblazers and he owned the Seattle Seahawks.
Uncle Ocho
Yeah.
Joe Ocho
Being sold. They believe they're gonna fetch somewhere north of 7, 8, maybe even $9 billion. That was in his. That was in his. His, you know, his estate, his planning. Like, look, I want him sold. X, Y and Z. And I think he says he's gonna do. I think they're gonna donate the money to charity.
Uncle Ocho
What do you mean? It ain't gonna go to his kids? Ain't nothing gonna go to his kids.
Joe Ocho
I don't think he had kids. He gave his sister. He put his sister in charge. And that was. And that was. That was his request. I don't think Paul Allen had kids. No, it goes to charity. Yeah.
Uncle Ocho
That man bought his paper, huh?
Uncle Joe
Yeah, man.
Joe Ocho
No, no, he's going to charity.
Uncle Ocho
Wow.
Uncle Joe
All of it. That's crazy.
Joe Ocho
Yeah, I mean, he was. He's very, very, very philanthropic. So. But, yeah, but the, the. The. The Sportland's got to make because they got. They got. Look, Denny, you can build around Denny Scoot is a play. I like Scoop. I like Clingan. He's a big. He ain't Wimby Hand, Jokic, but he's a slight. But, hell, who are. Who is?
Uncle Joe
Nobody.
Joe Ocho
But I like Shane Sharp. I like him because I've seen flashes from him that lets me know if he gets consistent minutes, he can be good. Maybe it's a confidence thing. I don't know. Maybe because before this thing hopped on because early in the season he was playing a lot of minutes. He was getting 25, 30 minutes. Joe.
Uncle Ocho
I think, I think when the Denny Cat started picking up his play, Uncle Ocho, you know he was an all star this year. Cause they basically pretty much play the same position. I think this is who they're going with. And they. I, I think, I think the sharp kid, I think that was Chauncey. I think that was his, I think that was one of his guys. Yeah, I think that was one of his guys that, that, you know, he enjoyed. He tried to feature. I don't necessarily think Splinter was, was, was, you know, really messing with him like that. I mean hell, it was obvious. Hell, he wasn't giving no clock.
Joe Ocho
Yeah, but these thighbo still in the league.
Uncle Ocho
Yeah, that's what I said. He came in and got him some minutes.
Joe Ocho
Too many play 15, one or six. He got too many minutes. That's the problem. He got 15 minutes. One of six. 05 from three, bro.
Uncle Ocho
Hey, you know what I want to know what's that? Is who, who the spurs gonna have next and what's gonna be a great matchup for him between Denver, Minnesota and Minnesota. T ws Denver and T W.
Uncle Joe
Hey, you think about it, Uncle Joe. Regards to who they get. Whether it's the Wolves or what is the Nuggets. Neither one got got enough firepower to deal with them boys.
Uncle Ocho
You don't think so?
Uncle Joe
No joke.
Uncle Ocho
I think I want to see Denver. I ain't gonna lie.
Uncle Joe
But Denver is a two headed monster. It's a two headed monster. That's the only thing I want to see.
Joe Ocho
Bitter soul without that man Antman coming for a couple of weeks. By the time Ant man get back, hell, they be down three, three nothing.
Uncle Ocho
That's why I said I want to see Denver. Because Denver, Denver pretty much full strength besides maybe you know, the, the. The Pat Watson kid. But outside of that, you know, they, they full strength and I think, I think Wimby, you know, he'll probably play some decent defense against Jokic. I don't know.
Joe Ocho
Yeah, he played great defense against Jokic because you see joking struggling against Rudy. He has better lateral movement than Rudy. Yeah, and he's taller than Rudy.
Uncle Ocho
He gave WEMBY 40 though by the last couple games of the season. He gave that boy 40 before the playoffs started though.
Uncle Joe
So.
Uncle Ocho
I don't know uncle, we don't know how they can go.
Joe Ocho
Let's go back and look at the three games. Cause I think Wemby got the best of them the last game now, where they really had to have it. Yeah, Jokic gave him, but Wemby was getting him. That work?
Uncle Ocho
Yeah, it's gonna be.
Joe Ocho
Yeah, Wimby put it on him a couple of times, Joe.
Uncle Ocho
Oh, no, no, no. Listen, Jokic ain't gonna be able to do nothing with him defensively now, right? No, he ain't gonna be able to do nothing with him. He can't contest his shot. Hell, he can't out rebound him. He ain't gonna be able to do nothing defensively. He just gotta attack him offensively and make him work. Yeah, I think if you any team and you playing against the spurs, bro, you have to be extra physical with Wimby, I'm saying, to beat him. Cause you let him roam around that, that, that, that paint freely and not get chugged, not get hit. Boy, he gonna be a. A bad weapon.
Uncle Joe
Hey, Joe, you neutralize Wim, you still got to deal with Fox. Yeah, July is Fox and Wimby. Now you got to deal with Basil.
Joe Ocho
Damn. Hey, Joe.
Uncle Joe
What's up?
Joe Ocho
Hands out. Let me give you a little squeeze. Whatever what that is. I don't know what that man there got.
Uncle Ocho
Ocho.
Joe Ocho
Yeah, that. Yo. That he got.
Uncle Joe
What happened?
Joe Ocho
I don't know what it is.
Uncle Joe
What you mean?
Joe Ocho
I just know I don't want it.
Uncle Ocho
You all right, bro?
Uncle Joe
Oh, I just got. I got a little cold.
Joe Ocho
I'm a little old. Let me get a little.
Uncle Ocho
You mean. Hey, you ain't been getting no rest?
Uncle Joe
Hey, Nah, I ain't had a chance to get no rest the past four days, I think.
Uncle Ocho
Hey, hey, hey. Let me tell you something.
Joe Ocho
Yeah, you.
Uncle Ocho
If you don't get no rest, your body gonna make you rest, partner.
Uncle Joe
Yeah, it made. It made me rest yesterday.
Uncle Ocho
Yeah, you're gonna have to get some rest. Hey, your immune system. That what y' all call it? Okay, what you think? Oh, you think he what?
Uncle Joe
Hey, hey, you trying to be fun?
Joe Ocho
Hold on, man. I ain't heard about no bul. Never heard of it. He ain't never heard of it.
Uncle Joe
Hey, so we. We gonna take the comic. We gonna take the comic co and turn into something else, huh?
Joe Ocho
Boy, you live in Miami. Hey, Joe, how that man got a cold in Miami? It's 80 degrees every day.
Uncle Joe
Everybody know I sleep with my AC on 60 degrees.
Joe Ocho
I don't know what. I don't know what you do. All I know is one moment, you walking straight. You walking cra. I mean, everything Great. You talk. Here we are today. Now look at it.
Uncle Joe
Hey, Joe, what's up? Hey, he jealous of my voice, Joe. That's all it is.
Joe Ocho
Nah, nah, nah.
Uncle Joe
Hey, this, this, that, this. That quiet storm radio host voice.
Joe Ocho
Right now, all I wish I. I ain't jealous of whatever you got, I don't want it.
Uncle Joe
Hey, it's just a little sore throat. And I got my. What's it. What's this called? Yeah, I got my nyquil. Severe colon.
Uncle Ocho
You took something already?
Uncle Joe
Yeah, just one little drop.
Uncle Ocho
NyQuil gonna put you out. You gonna make it?
Uncle Joe
Oh, yeah, I'm gonna make it. Oh, yeah. But when it's time to work. Joe. I'm Joe.
Joe Ocho
Hey, hey. Either the night quill or what he gotta put him out. One or the other one of the two.
Uncle Joe
Hey, hey, Joe, honestly.
Joe Ocho
Damn. Oh, Lord. Man, come on. O joke.
Uncle Joe
My bad, my bad, my bad.
Joe Ocho
What a spray, man. What a spray.
Uncle Joe
My bad.
Uncle Ocho
Yeah.
Uncle Joe
Hey, you know what? I appreciate y' all bearing with me and doing these difficult times.
Joe Ocho
Baron, come on, man. Hey, nothing common about what you got.
