Joe
All right, now we head to the NFL. Joe, your Cowboys reportedly screwed the Steelers last night. Let's take a listen to the report that Chris Harris from the Fort Worth Star Telegram was. This is what he said.
Chris Harris
Pittsburgh is pissed about this. They feel like Dallas duped them. They, especially with the draft being in Pittsburgh, they felt embarrassed on a national stage. There was a wild development that happened in the war room, not only in Dallas last night, but also in Pittsburgh and in Philadelphia. So the Cowboys are sitting there on the clock at pick 20. They were planning on taking Malachi Lawrence right there, but they did. Entering that pick, they wanted to trade back. They had been tipped off somehow that Mai Lemon was going. Going to be the pick for the Pittsburgh Steelers. The USC wide receiver. There's a lot of connections with that new Pittsburgh staff. Remember, Mike McCarthy is the new head coach there. He hired a lot of, you know, assistant coaches and executives and scouts and, and, you know, people behind the scenes that were in Dallas just a couple of years ago. So it could have been as simple as someone in the Dallas war room just shooting a text to somebody in the Pittsburgh war room. Be like, hey, who are y' all taking here? And them thinking, oh, the Cowboys are taking defense. You know, this is just two guys, you know, two girls talking, right? Here they go. We're taking Makai Lemon, you know, and the Cowboys call Philadelphia. Cowboys call Philadelphia. They're like, hey, the Steelers are going to take Makai Lemon. We know you want a receiver, come up here, do this deal with us and give us two fourth round picks. And they did the deal and Pittsburgh is pissed. Multiple sources have told me this morning.
Joe
Damn, I love that. Yeah, I love the Cowboys being petty.
Chris Harris
And yes, it worked out so great for them.
Joe
This isn't a boy Scout troop, man. We're trying to win a championship.
Chris Harris
Who cares if the Steelers are pissed off? There's clips out there of Makai Lemon being on the phone with the Pittsburgh Steelers and then him being like, hey, why is Philadelphia calling his agents running in the room? Philly just traded for you. It's going to be Philly. And he has to hang up on the Steelers and answer the Eagles phone call and take that, and he's drafted at the 20th overall pick.
Ocho
Hey, that's how business. Hello, ain't it? That's why they. Joe, that's why they call it the war room.
Uncle Joe
Yeah.
Ocho
All the. Hey, listen, when it's time for war, ain't no love in that.
Joe
You can't. I don't.
Ocho
You're trying to.
Joe
I give you a prime example. I know y' all don't remember this story, but I do. Y' all do realize that somebody stole the secrets to Coca Cola formula, tried to sell it to Pepsi. Guess what Pepsi did.
Uncle Joe
What'd he do?
Joe
Told Coca Cola, got the FBA involved and got their ass arrested.
Uncle Joe
Why?
Joe
First of all, I don't blame. I don't blame the Cowboys, but why would somebody in Pittsburgh ever divulge that information? Why would you do that?
Uncle Joe
Right,
Joe
Ocho, if I met. If you said it's the war room, that means I met war with every other. All 31 other teams. I'm at war. Why would I divulge any information about who. What we're potentially gonna do?
Ocho
Hey, you know how this business goes, right? It ain't fair. It never has been. If we have an opportunity to get one up on another team.
Joe
Yeah, I don't got no problem with it. I have no problem whatsoever.
Ocho
Oh, okay.
Joe
My problem is with the Steelers, right? And they thought they could trust someone. I ain't got no friends. Right, Ocho, you go to another team, you go to. You go to the. The Patriots. Yes, man. Oh, so what y' all do? What y' all looking like out there, man? Where they got you playing at? Ah, man, I don't even know if I'm gonna play this week. That's what I'm saying.
Uncle Joe
Right, Right.
Joe
Anything that I say, they gonna go back and tell the D.C. or they gonna tell the office, man. This is what Ocho told me they're doing. You dumb dumbs.
Uncle Joe
Hey, hey, you know the Cowboys. The Cowboys got two picks off of that, though, didn't they?
Joe
Yeah.
Uncle Joe
Did they get two picks off of that?
Commercial Announcer
Yes.
Uncle Joe
From Philly. Moving up.
Joe
Yes.
Uncle Joe
Yeah.
Joe
Plus, you got to realize, Dallas and Philly, this is not the first time they did this with Micah and devonte. Philly wanted devontae Smith. Dallas had to pick. They was like, okay, we'll trade back. Just don't take Parsons. Okay? Now we want devontae Smith.
Ocho
They agreed?
Chris Harris
Yes.
Joe
I don't know what Pittsburgh. I don't. I don't know what Pittsburgh was thinking in this situation. I don't. I don't know why. Why would that guy divulge that information? Oh, Joe.
Ocho
Why?
Uncle Joe
He felt comfortable. Had to. He had to feel comfortable Talk. Talking. Talking to them boys.
Ocho
But, hey, it's a dirty.
Joe
Hey, man.
Ocho
Hey, Uncle Joe. It always has been, not only with the players, but obviously those that wear those. Those jackets and those ties. It's still a dirty business.
Joe
You know, we saw this thing in baseball. Who. Who's that? Well, we saw the Houston Rockets. Houston Rockets. The Houston. The Astros were stealing sign. They banging on the drums. You saw the car where somebody had all that, Their portfolio, the information, the. The. The analytics and all that? Yes, absolutely. Yeah.
Uncle Joe
Hey, we got. Hey, them Cowboys got some good pickups, though, didn't they?
Joe
I. I love the Caleb down.
Uncle Joe
How Caleb down slip slipped us like that.
Joe
It seemed like somebody said he had some knee issues. Is that correct?
Uncle Joe
I mean, from. From what I've been hearing, hell, they were talking about how he's like one of the. If not the best prospect in the draft.
Ocho
Yeah. Yeah, he up there. He went up. He went on. Hey, he's a great pick. That's one of those picks you. You really. You really can't miss. And y'.
Joe
All.
Ocho
Y' all got another Malachi. Another edge. Nah. J. Sean. J. Sean Barham. I think Edge rush.
Uncle Joe
When they draft him today.
Joe
Okay.
Ocho
Yep. Third round.
Joe
And hold on, didn't they get Rodriguez from Texas Tech? He was the Bronco. He was the. What you call him, outstanding defensive player this year. The linebacker from Texas Tech. Isn't he going to Dallas? No, he going to Miami. He's going to Miami? Yeah, he's going to Miami. He reminds. He reminds you of Ocho.
Uncle Joe
Who was that?
Joe
Zach Thomas.
Ocho
Kiko Long. Zach.
Joe
You remember Zach Thomas.
Ocho
He was number 10. Hey, he was number 10 at Texas Tech, right? Number 10. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I like, too.
Joe
Didn't he. I think so, yeah. What did Zach Thomas go. I think Zach Thomas, the linebacker. Yeah, Zach. No, Zach Martin wouldn't know the name.
Ocho
Hey, hey, hey. A matter of fact. Matter of fact, when I think about the draft and in the first two rounds and I think about giving team grades based on what they've done so far with the first two rounds, the goddamn Cowboys get a. A. Goddamn Philadelphia. They get a goddamn A. I don't know what. Hey, Howie Roseman. I don't. Is he. He just made for this stuff, huh? He just made for this stuff. Whether it's a draft, whether it's offseason acquisitions, whether it's playing players early, you know, a little earlier than you're supposed to. Everything he does, he always does it right.
Joe
Trade they made.
Uncle Joe
What Trade they made.
Joe
They got Grenard. Who was opposite of Anson. I talked about it last night. I said Ocho, I, I, I've been hearing that he was on the market. Guess what they trade for him? Four years. 100 million. Boom. Done deal. Now we got another A pass. Russia.
Uncle Joe
Damn.
Joe
Hey.
Uncle Joe
Hey. So. So, so the receiver he for show up out of there, A.J. he for sure out of there.
Ocho
Yeah, yeah, yeah. In June.
Joe
June.
Ocho
He, he'll be over there. He'll be over there in Boston. He'll be over there in Boston.
Joe
Bet. I mean, look, and it happens sometimes. Sometimes you have irreconcilable differences and sometimes we can bark amicably. Yeah, it happens.
Ocho
Hey, hey, Chat. I'm curious to chat. What they think about the draft and as far as the teams, what grades would you give some of this, some. What grade would you give your team, your favorite team, on how they've done so far in the draft? Hey, Bengals. I mean, people, you know, people will laugh. Well, what we've done defensively on.
Uncle Joe
Y' all got better. Ocho.
Ocho
Hey, I mean, listen, I can't say we got better. I know we got some hell of a pieces. Can I say that? Am I, Can I say that? Unc Jared Allen, huh? We got sexy Dexy, a young bull. Young bull from Texas. A Joe, man. Cassius. Cassius.
Joe
How he like that now?
Ocho
I'm just looking. I'm just looking at what I'm seeing on film, you know, based on the highlights. Twitchy, aggressive. Hey, he nice. And he got, he got a little dog in him. He out there talking trash most of the time. You don't see, you don't see that too much, especially from defensive linemen. Hey, hey, we gonna be nice if we get Shamar Stewart to come out this year and show the progress and improvement. He was the first round pick last year. He didn't do much last year, but we get him coming along this year, man. Hey, Miles Murphy. I like it. Now, we improved defensively. It's one thing to have names, but it's another thing when the goddamn bullet's flying. Are you gonna show up on Sundays when it counts?
Uncle Joe
Hey. Hey. What your Ravens and your Broncos, do they get better?
Joe
They took an offensive lineman. I think both teams took off it. No, I'm trying to think. What did the Broncos take? Hell, I don't even know the Ravens took. I know the Ravens took the title. The offensive lineman from Penn State. And they took defense. I think they took defense in the second round. I see early pick in the second round.
Uncle Joe
I see them Browns got Them some receivers, some offensive tackles, didn't they, man?
Joe
Yeah, I told them they need, they need some receivers. What are your thoughts on the Steelers calling Malachi Washington when they work even on the clock? Lemons. I was watching. What the hell. I get what Lemon. Makai. Makai. Not Malachi. Makai. Malachi went to the. Yeah, the Cowboys.
Uncle Joe
Yeah.
Joe
Jake Rosenberg said clubs are not, are not on the clubs that are not on the clock may have discussions with representative of one or more draft eligible players not yet selected or discussion with players themselves regarding the player's interest in playing in the league, playing for a particular club or type of club, the player's health or no other non financial matters. So long as these discussions do not interfere with discussions between player and clubs that is on the clock. So I don't know why, I don't know why Steeler will even have it. So Steeler, you're not really supposed to even talk. So guess what?
Ocho
So they, they, they, they in the wrong.
Joe
Look, you can have a discuss. You can talk to the representative or you can talk to the players. Ash, right. It says you may have discussion with the representative of one or more draft eligible players not yet selected or in discussion or discussion with the player themselves. So theoretically, since they weren't on the clock, they shouldn't have to have a conversation. Yeah, right. You're not supposed to be able to do that though. So. Yeah, I got no. Hey, so good. You're supposed to lose. You could talk to the, you could talk to the agent, but you're not supposed to be having a conversation with said player.
Ocho
With the player. With the player.
Joe
So still you. I don't know why you mad. What Low down dirty D deserves another.
Ocho
Hold on. What, what player? What player are the other receiver with?
Joe
Makai Lemon when they weren't on the clock? They made it. Dallas does a deal with Philly. Philly land the Jets.
Ocho
That's how, that's how. That's how he ended up over there. Okay, okay, okay.
Joe
You're supposed to be able. You could talk to the hey. Talk to his representative, but you're not supposed to be on the clock with the player unless you're on the clock. He wasn't on the Steelers weren't on the clock because if they were on the clock, guess what? What? Nothing Philly could do. Right? But since they weren't on the clock, Dallas say hey, you know what? We ain't selected it. So let us go ahead and pick up a couple extra draft picks that might help us out down the road.
Uncle Joe
Hello.
Ocho
And. And Makai, Lemon boy, he upset too.
Uncle Joe
Why you say that?
Ocho
Yeah, yo, he upset. He upset. He. He felt. He felt he was one of the better players in the draft and should have been going a little earlier than when he did go. He got. He got. He got a little chip on the shoulder. You got a little chip on the shoulder. Obviously, you know, there were rumblings and talk about the way he does his interviews and his mannerisms, the way he conducts himself when talking. But that's just him. That's just him. He's not Peyton Manning. He's not Tom Brady. They just don't like the way it comes off, the way he does his interviews. But hey, this man here to play football. He's here to play football. You know how he conducts himself when the camera and the mic is in front of him. That has nothing to do with what he does on the goddamn field. But he was pissed off and you can tell. You can tell. So I hope he go out there and do his, you know what thing.
Joe
It's reported that the Eagles were trying to get in touch with Lemon, but he's on the phone with the Steelers. Cause, you know, if it's draft and you on the phone, Ocho, what's the likelihood of you clicking over? Because you already on the phone with an NFL team? So whoever's calling is not nearly as important as who you on the phone with.
Uncle Joe
Right, right, right.
Ocho
Not even close.
Joe
So they were like, well, damn, we tried to call little boy. This the number he gave us. Because, you know, you gotta give them a number, Ocho. Where you gonna be? They ask you for your number. Where you gonna be? Are you gonna be in Miami? You're gonna be in Oregon? You're gonna be here, you're gonna be there. What's the best number? Is there a second number? Nah, this is all the number I got.
Uncle Joe
Yeah.
Joe
So they try to get in touch with him. They like, well, damn, he click over. Congratulations, Makai. We just. Huh? I was talking to him.
Ocho
It's a dirty game.
Joe
Talking to them about what day it on the clock.
Uncle Joe
Hey, boy, that's a hell of a feeling though. The draft. That's. That's a, that's. That's. That's something you'll never forget, bro. It's something you'll never forget. It's a hell of a feeling. Yeah, it's nerve wracking. Hell, if you didn't have anxiety, you probably got it that day. You feel me?
Joe
Yes, man. You know what I tell Ocho, Guys need to understand it's not haha. It's where you go that's the most important thing. We've seen guys go high, go to the wrong situation. We've seen guys go to the right situation. Tom Brady and Flourish went to the sixth round.
Ocho
Yeah.
Joe
Maybe somebody else. Hey, he gets cut. They kept four quarterbacks in New England. That's unheard of. Four active quarterbacks on the roster. Coach Belichick saw something. He was so convinced that this guy had something. Say, you know what? Hey, just, just do scout team stuff and don't even worry about it.
Uncle Joe
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Ocho
But you know that's not the way to play. Is thinking about it too. You know, everybody wants to go early.
Joe
You're right.
Ocho
Obviously money, money plays a huge factor in wanting to go early. But the money so much is so different now. As opposed to when we were playing and when we got drafted. Hey, you can go and you can go in the goddamn third round and still be sitting damn near pretty.
Joe
Hey, second round is getting.
Ocho
Oh yeah.
Joe
Compared to what first rounders normally get.
Uncle Joe
Yeah.
Joe
You do realize, right? I think all first rounders contracts are guaranteed. That running back got the running back is how he got the most guaranteed money ever.
Uncle Joe
50 to my love.
Ocho
50.
Joe
Yeah.
Ocho
Yeah.
Uncle Joe
Hey, hey, what about.
Joe
I see why his parents were doing this all night. Yeah, they should.
Uncle Joe
Hey, hey, hey. What about the kid who we had on here? Avion Terrell? He got drafted. By the Falcons.
Joe
By the Falcon. Going with Jordan.
Ocho
He playing with his brother.
Uncle Joe
Man, that's so hard, bro.
Ocho
Hey, what? That's so. Hey, that's so dope, Joe.
Uncle Joe
That's crazy, man. Oh man.
Ocho
Hey Unc, has it. Has there ever been a tandem of brothers that actually played together on the same team at the same position?
Joe
Not that I know of. Damn. I can't think of anything crazy.
Uncle Joe
Hey, and they both from, they both from here?
Joe
Yeah. They went to Wesley.
Ocho
Yeah.
Uncle Joe
Damn.
Ocho
Hey, can you imagine that? AJ Terrell at once on one side and his brother on the other side. That's. That's. Oh, that's crazy.
Joe
I would see you could do that if you on the defensive side. I ain't trying. I wouldn't try to play with my brother. He a ball hog. They throw that. They throwing that ninja the ball, man. Man, I got drafted. He had just come off leading the league. He just come out to leading the league in, in catches.
Uncle Joe
Damn.
Joe
First team off road. 92, 93. He went back to back over 100. Nah,
Uncle Joe
damn. Hey, what, what kind of, what kind of advice he was giving you uncle when you were going through your process.
Joe
Oh, yeah, Ocho. They did have been a few.
Ocho
Yeah.
Joe
Shaquille and Shaquillem Griffin for the Seahawks play. Oh, yeah. Remember, one was a linebacker, the other was a DB.
Uncle Joe
Yeah.
Joe
Jason and Debbie McCourty played with the Patriots.
Ocho
Oh, no, I'm saying they, they. No, they, they. Okay, okay. You right. I'm just saying in the draft, I mean, drafting to the same.
Joe
Oh, no, no, no, no. Not drafting.
Ocho
No, no. They ended up. They ended up playing. They ended up playing together. I mean, actually, one player. What, your brother already been there.
Joe
Do you actually get grabbed the same team, your brother. Not at the top of my head.
Ocho
Okay.
Joe
Derek and TJ Watt both played with the Steelers, but I think. I think Derek ended up with. He's drafted by the Chargers, wasn't he? Yeah, Shaquille. And Shaquille was drafted. They both got drafted to the same team. One was a first round pick and I think the other was a second round pick.
Uncle Joe
They both got drafted Seattle. Yeah, I remember that.
Ocho
Yeah, that's. That's dope, man. That's. That got to be the best as.
Joe
Oh, what about what you call them, Joe? What about Cam and Casey Hayward? Both of them in Pittsburgh or he might not be. Was he drafted? What the little brother drafted.
Ocho
That's dope, man.
Joe
Was he drafted to the Steelers or. We were the free agent.
Uncle Joe
I mean, I mean, to be from here, though. Yeah. And playing for the foul, bro.
Joe
That's. Yeah, he was drafted. Connor and Kate and Cam Hayward. Damn. It's. Yeah, obviously. I mean, you talk. Even if you probably got a handful of instances, Ocho, if you go back and study the NFL, maybe you got a handful of history, Right? Instances in which guys have gotten drafted, brothers have gotten drafted, maybe they played at a later date in time, but to be drafted, right, man, that's. That's unbelievable.
Ocho
That's dope. Hey, as.
Joe
As.
Ocho
As. As parents, they got to be one of the greatest feelings in the world. One of the greatest feelings. I mean, obviously with. With Donna Kelsey, what she was able to do.
Joe
Oh, yeah.
Ocho
I mean, Terrell. Terrell's parents. I mean, the, The Watt family, the Manning family, that. That had. That has to be one of the greatest feelings, man. The Bar Lee.
Joe
Oh, yeah, yeah.
Ocho
Ronda and Tiki. Yeah, man, that's dope, Pouncy.
Joe
Yeah.
Ocho
Sonoris and. Sonoris and Santana Moss trying to think, hey, did the list goes.
Joe
But you know what, Ocho?
Ocho
What happened?
Joe
I mean, they got some very, very touching, heartwarming stories, but I only know I only know one set of brothers. They got these.
Uncle Joe
There you go.
Ocho
Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey. You right about that. Hey, I like. I like that. I like that. Hold on, hold on, hold on.
Uncle Joe
Oh, oh. Here you go. Here you go.
Joe
Hey, hey. Chelsea got Sir Chaucer gotta go with too.
Ocho
Nah, nah, nah. Hey, listen, I'm. I'm the only one with a 14 karat gold bus, you hear me? Hey, Chad. Hey, hey. Only one with a 14k. Wait. Wait till I get my arm.
Joe
Hey, look like you, bro.
Uncle Joe
Hey, that don't. You got a little knot up there on your dome.
Joe
Ain't got.
Uncle Joe
They got that little knot up there, huh?
Joe
See, you should. Hey, you should have been working with Chauncey. Got Chaucey got Chauncey to be playing football.
Ocho
Nah, Chauncey a Hooper man. Chauncey don't. He don't. He don't like. He don't like football.
Joe
You don't like that. Contact.
Ocho
Hey, Joe. Hey, hey, hey, Joe. You talking about. You talking about playing me? You my brother.
Uncle Joe
Who was your brother? Nah. Whoop your brother ass.
Ocho
Hey, hey.
Uncle Joe
Don't bring your brother in this mess.
Ocho
Hold on, hold on, Joe. Both of my brothers. My brother Chauncey. My brother Sam. I promise you that.
Uncle Joe
Line it up here. Line it up. Grind it up.
Ocho
No. You think you slick? You ain't. You ain't getting away from me. You gonna do. You gonna deal with me, boy. You gonna deal with me? What? You gonna deal with me?
Uncle Joe
I whoop they ass too.
Ocho
Hey, but hey, you. Hey, Joe, you. Why? This ain't the NBA, Joe. What? We play street ball, Joe.
Joe
I grew up playing street.
Uncle Joe
What are you talking about? I grew up playing.
Ocho
That okay?
Joe
Yeah.
Ocho
Okay, Joe. Hey, hey. All right.

Ocho Anthony Richardson is reportedly looking for an extension of the McVeigh Shanahan Lafleur tree, which to learn from. This comes in progress. Malik Willis showed on the Matt LaFleur in Green Bay this past off this past season. It led to a three year, $67.5 million contract with the Dolphins, and injuries limited Richardson to 17 appearances and a performance when he played. When he did play left a lot to be desired. He has thrown for 2400 yards, 11 touchdowns, 13 interception while completing about 50% of his passes. Ocho yeah. Could a West coast system help Richardson revive his career similar to Willis?
Ocho
I think any system will really help him if he if he lock in it's not about the system he's in. It's about you locking in. It's about you taking what you do seriously. Not rapping, not all the side quests, not all your hobbies that you focused in being. Being the first one in and being the last one out. It had nothing to do with the system. It's you. You know that. That's all it comes down to. That's all. If the work you put in, the results show up on Sundays.
Uncle Joe
Yeah.
Ocho
When you don't put the work in, Joe, the results show up that you ain't put the work in, it shows up on Sundays.
Uncle Joe
Absolutely.
Joe
I don't get mad at the results you didn't get for the.
Ocho
The work.
Joe
The work you didn't put in.
Uncle Joe
There you go.
Ocho
That's all it come down to.
Joe
But, but, Ocho, you remember when we was talking about this? Let that man have other things. He ain't got to be there all day. Now, where they had in the chat, though, Jojo, when you was. I was on this thing in the very beginning. Where y' all at the chat.
Ocho
Now, that's the one position.
Joe
Let him do what he want to do. Let him if. If he gets his work done. Ocho and I just happen to play the game at a very, very high level, Joe. Yeah, Extremely high level. You played at a. To tell them if all you do is what the coaches ask you to do, you'll never be great.
Uncle Joe
No, sir.
Joe
Hey, no, sir, but. Oh, yo. Oh, your big mouth. You and Ocho don't know everything. I said, okay. I said but at that position, it's all encompassing. Hey, but I want to know chat. Where are y' all at now that y' all criticize Ocho and I, man, you don't know. I said it's a bad look that he left the game because he was tired.
Chris Harris
He.
Joe
It's a bad look. I say they had a team. Think about it. Oo. They had a team damn. Meeting about a rookie quarterback. Yeah. I've never heard in my 14 years of playing.
Ocho
Yes, sir.
Joe
In my years of covering something of this magnitude. But the chat people that's never played want to tell guys that's been in a locker room, that's been leaders in the Rock locker room and what it takes to be great. But now they know more than us. But okay, I'll let y' all have it. Now, where y' all at? I ain't hurting not one person.
Ocho
Yeah, it's different. Joe especially.
Joe
And people say Ocho, man all sharp is Bad talk too much. But you never said. I didn't know what I was talking about.
Uncle Joe
Hello.
Joe
Hello. Boy, I'm sure. Boy, they show talk a lot. When have you heard them say they don't know what the hell they talking about?
Ocho
That's the one position you can't take. No. You can't cut no corner, Joe. Hey, qb, you man, you can't cut no corners. You can't. You can't. You got to be. You got to be invested. I'm to about 24 7. Hey, on the field, off the field, in the film room.
Uncle Joe
Hey.
Joe
And that's why they want to be great. How great do you want to be at it, though? That's what it comes down to.
Ocho
Yeah.
Joe
How great do you want to be at it?
Ocho
Yeah.
Joe
Because you could be really good and do it half ass. Yeah, the same thing. Ocho, remember we said I was on what you call them when I was Undisputed and I was talking about Kyler Murray, man, let that man have a life. I said, do you understand what it takes to play that position?
Ocho
And y'.
Joe
All. I said, let this sink in for just a second. They put in his contract that he would spend x amount of hours away from the facility watching game tape. Do you understand what that means? Okay, I'm gonna let y' all have it. I'm gonna let y' all have it. Y' all know y' all right. Y' all right. Y' all right. You can do it.
Ocho
Both.
Joe
You can play COD and all your time and your off time, you know, hey, you can do all what you want to do. No, but why you moving up the ranks and you. While you moving up the ranks as a COD player in the usa.
Ocho
Yeah.
Joe
Or the world, you dropping in the NFL ranks as a quarterback.
Ocho
Yeah.
Uncle Joe
Because it's somebody working trying to catch you.
Ocho
Oh, yeah. And if you ain't working, you don't get exposed on Sundays. Either way. Either way.
Uncle Joe
That's how I go.
Ocho
That's the one position you can't. That's one position you can't hide on.
Joe
No. Hell, no, you can't hide.
Ocho
One position you can't hide, Joe.
Joe
Everybody else.
Ocho
Yeah, you can hide everybody else.
Joe
I can roll coverages.
Ocho
Yeah.
Joe
I can bunch you. I can stack you. I can push you in motion.
Ocho
Yeah.
Joe
The one position I can't find is the quarterback, because guess what? He got the ball every damn time.
Ocho
Every time. And hell, it ain't in. In the. To piggyback again off what you said at the beginning and then putting him in A new system. Well, hell, Young Bull came from the Giants and did extremely well in the system that you just had yourself with the same players until he got hurt.
Uncle Joe
Yeah.
Joe
Ocho, you making sense, boy. Stop. Damn.
Ocho
Same system, same recession. I mean, I'm just. Me, I'm just being honest, being truthful.
Joe
Yeah. When we say this, you know, we. Tommy, we buck dancing. I just, I want.
Ocho
Listen, I a. I ain't one of them coming from.
Joe
We don't get the chances that they do. So don't f. The chances up that you do get. Yeah, there you go. Once you get there, it's easier to get there and stay than it is to get out and try to get back in. Bro, you see the money that they give it and the cap just going up, bro. Make you three, $400 million and then say, kick rock. I'mma go smoke weed. I'mma play cod. I'mma play what, Whatever else they got. Whatever. I don't know the video. I just know Call of Duty. I don't know anything.
Ocho
After you get. After you get your money, though. Yes, after you get your money.
Joe
Yes, absolutely. That's all I'm saying. Guys, I want. I want guys to get all that money because it's there for you to get it. But don't, bro, don't let these people gas you up. Talk about you can do other things. No, professional sports is a full time job. A quarterback, just like. Just like the NFL. NFL used to be a. A seasonal job. It ain't no more. It ain't no more because guess what, Ultra, There used to be times we didn't talk about football in, in May. Once the. The draft happened in April, you took a break. You ain't talking about in June. You ain't talking about July. You a talking about two guys went back to training camp.
Uncle Joe
Yeah.
Joe
Now they covering the draft. Not. Excuse me, now they cover the combine. Balls to the wall. Now they talking about OTAs. Now they talking about who reporting and when they're reporting. It's different now. And it used to be teams would give you an opportunity, they would wait for you to develop. They ain't waiting no more with you.
Uncle Joe
Hell no.
Joe
Nah. Anyway, they got too much money tied up. They say, hell no, we'll go get something else.
Ocho
They very impatient. This is a good thing. It's a gift and a curse. It's a gift and a curse, though, because now the. The impatience when it comes to owners and wanting the satisfaction of having success right away just by getting a high draft pick and throwing and Giving them a lot of money. That's not the way things work. Now, that might be the way things work in business.
Joe
Yes.
Ocho
Test where you throw money at a business and it gets you what you want. It don't work that way with young quarterbacks. You got to give them time to develop. There's a learning curve, Ocho.
Joe
You see that in business. If something not going well, what they do, they'll find a CEO and get another one. Yeah, he ain't doing it again. They'll find another one. And they look at the quarterback as a CEO.
Ocho
Yes.
Joe
But it. So they get his ass up out there and get another one.
Uncle Joe
Hey, but look how many quarterbacks done came into the league as a rookie and really been effective, like right away.
Ocho
Yeah,
Uncle Joe
I'm talking about as a rookie.
Joe
They got like RG3.
Ocho
RG3 had a good year.
Joe
When you look at being effective. So you say, like being effective, have good years.
Uncle Joe
Yeah. To where you made the playoffs and let's say you was, you know, you had a decent playoffs shoes.
Joe
RG3. Jaden Daniels.
Ocho
Jaden Daniels. CJ Stroud.
Joe
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. First year.
Ocho
Nice.
Joe
CJ yeah.
Ocho
Hell. Michael Vic had to sit and wait. Carson had to sit and wait.
Joe
Brady sit and wait.
Ocho
Yeah.
Joe
Peyton didn't sit and wait. But Peyton said I'm wait. I, I just, I root for somebody to throw 27 interceptions so I can get off the list because I got the most interceptions that the rookies have. A rookie. I want somebody to break my record. They're breaking all the rest of them.
Ocho
Well, hey, Joe Payton was horrible boys that came in. Oh, that's right. Dak.
Uncle Joe
Yeah. Oh, yeah. Cause he took Tony Romo's spot off. Dump.
Joe
Yeah.
Uncle Joe
Got hurt. Yep, yep.
Joe
Yeah. So they've been. It's. But it's hard, Joe. It is hard for that guy to come in and he got to be. And be the leader of a team. A first year, a rookie.
Uncle Joe
Hey, hey, is it tough because of the game, the NFL and college. The NFL is a lot faster than college. Like, your processing has to speed up.
Ocho
Way faster, Joe. Yeah, way faster. I mean, obviously at that point it becomes a mind game. You know, it's a mental game. I know it's a physical sport, but hell, the game is 90% mental. 90% mental, 10% physical.
Uncle Joe
Absolutely.
Ocho
Has to know what everybody else is doing. You have to know what everybody else is doing. And then when it comes to being able to read and process the defense, not only the, the route schemes and combination that you have Going on, but knowing what the defense is doing before they even do it. So you know exactly where you want to go with the ball. So you're able to think. You're so able to think and read and react fast.
Uncle Joe
Yeah. Yeah.
Ocho
I mean, you think about Tom Brady and you think about Peyton Manning, some of the greatest quarterbacks that there are. And they're not physically imposing. You know, they're not the fastest. You know, they're not the most athletic. But they beat you here every time, Joe. They beat you here every time.
Joe
Process.
Ocho
That's their edge. That's their middle edge.
Joe
Ocho, you know, Drew Brees got benched. He was the reason that they got the number one pick.
Ocho
For real pick.
Joe
Remember that? They got Eli.
Ocho
Oh, yeah. Oh, he said, I'm not going. Yeah.
Joe
First of all, he got benched for a Doug Flutie.
Ocho
I didn't know that. I ain't know that.
Joe
Yes. That's how they ended up. They had the number one pick. They ended up trading it and getting Philip Rivers.
Uncle Joe
Right.
Ocho
Okay.
Joe
Yeah. But also, Joe, you have to understand, you dealing with guys that's been in the league eight, nine, 10, 11 years, and you're asking a guy to come in and be the leader.
Ocho
Yeah.
Joe
Guys want you to prove it in this league before you lead them. They need to see you to do it. They want to make sure that you. You that guy.
Uncle Joe
Yeah.
Joe
You show them you the guy, and they'll follow you forever.
Uncle Joe
Damn. Yeah.
Joe
Because they watch it. They watch it. They see who the first did. Your quarterback. You can't be the first in the. You can't be the last day in the. First to leave. You got to be first and last. First and last to leave.
Uncle Joe
No question.
Joe
Not last. First.
Ocho
Joe.
Joe
Joe.
Ocho
You got to want it, Joe.
Joe
You gotta want it already.
Ocho
No, you gotta want it.
Joe
You got to. And you gotta want it more than somebody wants it for you. Yeah.
Uncle Joe
Yeah.
Ocho
Hey. Hey. Hey. I might have been a clown, and they might have called me all they wanted to, Joe, but, boy, I wanted it.
Uncle Joe
Joe, you were locked in.
Ocho
I was like, joe, I. I ain't had no choice, Joe. I talk too much.
Uncle Joe
Yeah.
Ocho
I talk too much trash through the week purposely. I'm gonna give you bulletin board material. This is. This was gonna happen, and I'm gonna go ahead and practice, and I'm gonna go do exactly what I said I'm gonna do. And ain't nothing you could do to stop it. Nothing. I don't care. I don't care what defense you run. I don't Care how many people you put on me. Well, you finna get this work.
Uncle Joe
Yeah. Yeah.
Ocho
Every week. Every week was a. It was a challenge. It was to me, it was fun. And I just turned the fun in entertainment. But I had to put the work in Joe.
Joe
Yeah.
Ocho
I had to study.
Joe
And they'll see it once they see that. You serious about this?
Ocho
Yeah.
Joe
The work that, the way you practice, the way you meet, the way you study, the way you're prepared.
Ocho
That's why, Joe, the way. The way un just explained it is why they never told me to stop what I was doing. Because everything Unc just said, that's what Marvin and all them, they got to see that part.
Uncle Joe
Yeah.
Ocho
The way I practiced, the way I studied, I was sharp. I was sharp. See, the rest of the world saw the finished product. They saw the fun.
Uncle Joe
Yeah.
Ocho
They seen the trash talking. They not seeing all the work I'm putting in to be able to pull that off.
Uncle Joe
Absolutely.
Joe
Nah, that's it. They know. And that's why coaches let him do what he did. That's why I didn't have a problem with my coaches, because they know. They knew how much time I put in studying. They knew how much effort I put in in the off season and during the season to keep my body right. They didn't have to worry about anything. But guess who else was watching? Your teammates.
Uncle Joe
Hello. Hello.

Ocho
Yeah, I got you, Joe. I understand. I understand there's certain things that I can say, but I sprinkled it out there a little bit. You know, I like, like parsley. I sprinkled it out there a little bit. And you know the fact that I said when I do say it, most of the people don't believe me. But when it happened, they'd be like, oh my goodness, Ocho, you was right. So a small example of me knowing what I'm talking about but nobody really paying attention and got them in February. I told you, hey, where did I say? And I'm sure we got the video evidence that we can pull back and we can use this proof. When did I say A.J. brown was going? When they gonna trade him? What team I say we're going to? Yeah, two months ago, Joe.
Joe
I've been telling him since what, October? I said, oh, he up out of there.
Ocho
Oh yeah, he up out of there.
Joe
What you talking about? You all you trying to do, man. That's what I don't like about the. This is what I don't like about. Because he think he know everything.
Ocho
Come on now.
Joe
I ain't not one person. We can go back and pull it. Cause we still got the comments what Ocho and I was talking about. Cause we got it and we can pull the comments. You don't know what you talking about. All you do is think you know everything. You don't know everything I said, man. Y' all hear this man talking. They winning the ball, they winning games. Oh, my thing went out, it came back, my bad.
Uncle Joe
They tried. So they traded.
Ocho
No joke.
Joe
It was going to be a post June 1st.
Ocho
Yeah, poked you for. But Joe, listen, I was saying this two, three months ago, right? Football season was over. They were happy. They were having discussion and talks about him going. I said. The first thing I said was, listen, young bull want to get up out of there. If you ask him, why you in season? And then I'm thinking, what place would make sense for A.J. brown to go. For him to still be able to flourish. Hello. Go back with your coach. You was with. And goddamn Tennessee. I mean, correct. With Tennessee. With Coach Rabel.
Uncle Joe
Yeah.
Ocho
So I said right away. I say, yeah, he going to the Patriots. I mean, it's. It's common sense at that point, you know? And this was damn near two, three months ago. Everybody talking about, man, shut up. He don't want to go nowhere. What you talking about?
Joe
Thank you.
Ocho
I don't think y' all don't understand.
Joe
But guess what, Ocho. But you know what they gonna say? Oh, everybody knew who you go get traded you a lot.
Ocho
No, you didn't.
Joe
You a lot. Because all y' all at the. Don't. Don't come now. Oh, man. No, no, no, no, no, no. We want y' all just like y' all when Ocho and I wrong, and y' all want Ocho and I admit that we was wrong. We got it wrong. I need y' all to do the same thing.
Ocho
Yeah.
Joe
I want y' all to run it with the same passion, with the same conviction that y' all say Unc and Ocho don't know what the hell they talking about. Ain't nobody. AJ Say he wasn't going nowhere. They say they weren't gonna trade him. Run it with the same passion.
Ocho
Hey, I got all the tweets saved, too. Yeah. I'll go back to all the tweets
Joe
saved when it actually happened. After June 1st, we're gonna go back, and we're gonna pull about 15 of them. So you better go take them down because we like the job. Cause we use all. All tweets against you.
Ocho
Yeah.
Joe
Cause y' all just knew. Oh, man, he ain't say that. He said he didn't want to go nowhere. They said it would go. Traded. Okay, Eagle fan. Where y' all at? I know we got some Eagle fans. Yeah, I know we got some Eagle fans. Cause I told you during the season, they gonna trade it. I mean, he wants to get out there, and you know what? It's best for the. It'll be a. It's the best thing sometimes when you have irreconcilable differences.
Ocho
Yes.
Joe
Let's go ahead and break this thing up amicably. Tell you what y' all wanted to hear. Oh, you just trying to. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. I want y'. All. What y'. All normally do when Ocho and I are wrong. Oh, man. Just admit you was wrong. Now. I Want the Eagle fan to come on with it? Yeah.
Ocho
And. And the funny thing.
Joe
Come on with it.
Ocho
It's. It's gonna be. It's gonna be. It's gonna be a good thing. It's gonna be a good thing.
Joe
Give me a piece of candy.
Ocho
Hey.
Joe
Like the old people say. Joe, let me get a piece of this old hard candy.
Uncle Joe
Hey, hey. My grandma Kelsey. Candy, help her.
Joe
Hold on. The man catch a touchdown in the Super Bowl. He's a second team all Pro. He's a Pro bowl player. He led the team and receiving and yards. I don't know what else you can get. And he was unhappy. You remember two years ago, Ocho, he on the sideline reading the book. The key for blowing the top.
Ocho
Whatever you gotta do to keep you calm.
Joe
It got so bad, they had a meeting. The owner and AJ Had a meeting. He said, I understand your frustration, probably with something like, I understand your frustration, but can you not be so public? And I said, I don't have a problem because I'm firm believer you don't accept anything in a win, you wouldn't have lost.
Ocho
Right.
Joe
I said, but you got to keep it behind the scenes because people are going to view you as selfish. You're winning, you got to be. At one point, you had the best record in the nfc. I said, you're winning. I say people are going to look at you as being self selfish because they're going to look at it. It's like, no, you just want your stats and then if you drop a pass or something happens, people are going to become overly critical of you.
Ocho
Yes.
Joe
I'm just trying to. Yeah, I ain't telling what somebody told me. Oo and I speaking from. I got 14 years. Oo got 11. So that's 25 years of NFL experience being in the locker room and seeing how things work.
Uncle Joe
Yeah.
Joe
That's all. No, no, no. Don't tell me. Never admit nothing. I need you to admit. Don't talk. This ain't about UNC now, when Unc Wrong again, uncle me. I tell you what, if sexy Dexie go out there and ball out, I'm saying, you know what, Ocho, that was a good trade. You were right.
Ocho
Hold on, hold on. It's go. It was a good trade. I'm telling you, it's going to be a good trade. Because anytime we talk about football and I say something ahead of time, it's always right. It's always right.
Joe
I'm.
Ocho
I'm rarely wrong when I say this.
Joe
Since you've been talking about your bingles. Your bingles ain't been to the point playoffs since.
Ocho
Okay, that's just. That's one thing. That's just one thing. That's. Hey, hold on, hold on now. Don't you do that. Don't. Hey, hey, brother cowboy. Don't you do that down there. That's what you're not gonna do.
Uncle Joe
Because I chime in, say fact.
Joe
Nah, nah.
Ocho
I'm just saying we talk about us not being to the playoff. I mean, we in the same goddamn boat now, you know. Hey, if I'm Rose, then you Jack. Now, don't. Don't act like that.
Joe
Hey, speaking of sexy Dexa, Tony Pauline speaks on Dexter Lawrence trade. There is concern that while Lawrence has shown himself to be a great player at times, he's not a very hard worker. Monday through Saturday. Part of the reason he wanted to be traded away from John Harbaugh.
Uncle Joe
Hey, you don't want. You don't want that out there about you.
Joe
John Harbaugh does work, ojo, but I don't get pads.
Ocho
I don't.
Joe
This is what I don't get. And I think they're talking about Zay Flowers. He said that Coach Harbaugh had them in pads, so forth and so on. Yeah, Ocho, if that's what you came into the league as, that's what you know, how is that a problem? That's all you know, right? It's not like you've been somewhere else. You've been at the 49ers and they only get. They only in pads, like on Thursday for maybe like 10, 15 minutes, right? If you came from that system and went to this system, I get it.
Ocho
Right?
Joe
But if that's all you know, when I played with Dan Reeves, we had the pads on. That's all I knew. So if I go somewhere else that they got pads on, I'm cool. I'm Gucci. Cause that's what I've been doing, you
Ocho
know, that's probably word of mouth too. You know, Zay Flowers hearing other players that's on other teams, the way they practice, them not having their pads on as often, especially once you get later on into the season, the fact that they haven't pads on as much as possible all the way, all the way up to. And I mean, in a sense, I don't understand it. Where you. Where you want your players healthy, you want them light as possible, especially, you know, during the week, so they healthy, you know, for games on Sundays. Now during our time, during our day, I understand now in today's time having pads on at every single practice. As many practices as you can get pads on them boys, you got them on them. Oh, that's tough.
Joe
Yeah, but in the west coast system, for the most part, the west coast used to be that was the thing. No pads. On Wednesday, you had them on for nine. On seven, you had them on for 907. It was thudded. You thudded up. Yeah, but then you take the pads off. Quarterback kept their pads on because they wanted to get used to throwing with their pads. Yes, sir, no problem. But everybody else, take your pads off, sell them to the side side. I leave mine out there because some rookie was going to grab mine or he better. But anyway, that's. We'll talk about. That'll be another show. We can talk about things that you got to do as a rookie or a player just coming up. But I don't get it, bro. You playing pads, I don't get that. Oo. Yeah.
Ocho
I mean, I. I don't know. Hey, I. I can't even sit here and lie because. Hey, hey, Joe. Some days when we had pat, we had padded practices. Joe, I have on the shelves. No, the shell. A little cushion. You. You put.
Joe
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Ocho
The spider pad. Yeah, spider pad. So the defense would already know. They weren't gonna hit me no way, Joe. But they can tell when I'm not wearing my goddamn shoulder pads. I just ain't. I just ain't want that weight on me. I just didn't want that extra weight on me. On me. Joe. I want to be out there moving fast as hell moving fast as possible through practice, you know, And I wear him on Sunday sometime. Marvel would say something. Sometimes he wouldn't. Them pad of practice. Hey, Joe. It used to be hell boy Z
Joe
flower want to keep his pads on. All that damn fumbling he be doing. That might be what that might. He might need to keep his damn pads on. Mike didn't have a hold on all. He said, I want you to dress how you would dress in the game. He said if you wore pads, five pads, knee pads in the game. Where am I here to practice? Yeah, that's the only. That was really the only thing that he had. That's what we said until them guys started coming out there with damn tims and house shoes. Man. Oh man, we'll talk about that another time. But I'm saying that was the only. That was the only thing that he had. If we come out here to practice, however you play in the game, right? That's how I Want you to. Especially when we got on pad. So most of the guys. I mean, back then, they got to wear pants now. Ocho. Yeah.
Ocho
Yeah.
Joe
I was like, damn, you go back and look. Go back and look at the 90s and early 2000s. Ain't nobody have no damn pads on Harley. Everybody had them. Basically was tight. They don't. They don't gutted. The thigh pads, the knee pad that took all the pockets out. All they got are tights. Yeah. Ricky Jackson was the first person I ever saw do that. I said, man, if I ever. If I ever be good enough, I damn sure coming out my. I'm coming out mine.
Uncle Joe
Hey, look, so when y' all got pads on, y', all, they hidden.
Ocho
Y'.
Uncle Joe
All.
Joe
We had on tight. It's just like you wear. Like, you wear those leggings up under your. Your. Your game pants. That's what I. Yeah, we done took all the pockets south. They just basically spandex.
Ocho
Spandex? Yeah, that's it.
Joe
That's. They just basically spandex. All I had was a helmet and shoulder pads. I had no thigh pads, no hip pads, no knee pads, no mouthpiece. I had a helmet and I had shoulder pads, and I only had two of my chin straps, but faster.
Ocho
Yeah, I remember them. Hey, some. Hey, them some fun days, boy, I. I miss. I miss it, but I ain't. I ain't going to lie to you. You. I ain't gonna hold you.
Joe
What you miss?
Uncle Joe
You missed the grind.
Ocho
Yeah, I missed the grind. I miss competing, Joe. I miss competing. I mean, I miss having structure and discipline and having to get up for something. I. I need something to do and. And whatever that something is that gives me structure.
Joe
How about go to the bank and send uncle his money, huh?
Ocho
Hey, Uncle, I told. I told you. Hey, break in case of emergency. If you really need that 59, I got you.
Uncle Joe
He been saying that. Man been saying he needs.
Ocho
He just talking. You know, he just talking. Hey, Joe, don't you owe me?
Joe
Oh, no.
Ocho
We even. We even now. We even. We even.
Joe
What?
Uncle Joe
Say it again. Say it again.
Ocho
Even. Cause we betting every game, right? You owe me a hundred. Atlanta won the night, so now we done broke even. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I don't. I don't like the fact that I can't pay you, though, because you ain't see me with my money pants at home.
Joe
Next time I'm home. Next time I'm home, Joe, I'm a. Because I got some of my game pants. You'll See, they ain't nothing. They just.
Ocho
Damn, Unc, you kept your pants.
Joe
I kept my game pants. Got shoulder pads. Got shoulder pads, everything.
Ocho
And I. Hey, Brian, I ain't got. I ain't. Brian. Got nothing.
Joe
But they still got all my stuff. Flip, who's the equipment guy? Yeah, he was there. He was there when I was there. They still got all my stuff boxed up, all my shoulder pads, extra hit, my helmets, all that stuff in the box.
Uncle Joe
Ocho, you ain't got no helmets.
Ocho
I ain't keep nothing. I ain't. Hey, Joe, let me tell you something. I don't know what's wrong with me, Joe. Hey, I'm. I'm. I swear for God, there's something wrong with me, Joe. I had. When I moved, I had a big place. I had a big place when I was playing out here, out here in Davey. And it really made no sense. And I got to a point where, you know what? I'm getting rid of this. I'm talking about 10,000 square feet. There's no reason for me to have a house that goddamn big. I'm not playing football no more. So obviously, you know how I am when it comes to financial literacy. Let's downsize a little bit. Let's get up out of here. Let's get in something we could. We can maneuver with and maintain the same lifestyle we had while we were playing ball. So I went smart in storage, Joe. I put stuff in storage, Joe. I let that storage there, Joe, maybe by 10, 11 years. And it got to a point where, you know what? Now that I moved into something nice again, I ain't got something big again. You know, when I wasn't bringing all that old stuff back with me and I done left that, I didn't let that part of life, Joe. I just let the storage go. So it was all. All that stuff. Man, ain't. I don't never collect memorabilia, Joe. I never have. I ain't kept no jewelry. I ain't kept no nothing. Now, if I need it, I know I can go get it. If I want a helmet, if I want shoulder pad or anything like that, I can go. I can find my old stuff again.
Joe
That's easy. I got all my stuff. I got college by college stuff, college. I got my high school helmet.
Ocho
Nah, I see. Yeah, you see, you're a collector. You're a collector. It's just when. Hey, Joe, when a phase of life
Joe
is done, it's over.
Ocho
I closed that book, Joe. I close it. I close it. Okay.
Uncle Joe
Okay.
Ocho
I don't care about that.
Uncle Joe
That's weird.
Joe
I don't know why all the trophy, Everything that I. Well, everything that I won in college, either my mom got it or my. It's at my grandmother's house. And so when I got my own house, my grandma. My grandma told me, no, you can't take nothing out of here. They still at my grandma house. My mom got some stuff that I want in college. My MVP trophy. I gave it to my. My girlfriend. I don't know where it's at now. Oh, man, she got water. She got one of my MVP trophies.
Ocho
Yeah. Hey, that's damn near, like, hard though, too. Joe. You. You feel me?
Joe
Oh, I do. I got. I got. Yeah.
Ocho
Yeah.
Joe
I got clothes. I got clothes from when I was like five or six.
Ocho
See, that's pretty much. That's too much.
Joe
That story I told about the. The white outfits that my. My mom dressed me and my brother like for church.
Ocho
For Easter.
Joe
For Easter. Yeah. I still got that outfit.
Uncle Joe
Yeah,
Joe
that probably was. That probably was 75, 78. So damn near 50 years ago. I still got it.
Uncle Joe
Damn.
Joe
Oh, yeah. I keep stuff. We do. I. I get that from my grandma. I told you. My grandma had had canned peaches and. And beans and stuff for 20 years that she tried to bring to the. The new place. Liberty said granted. This stuff ain't no good. He said, yeah, it is, baby.
Ocho
It's.
Joe
It's seal. It ain't been open.
Uncle Joe
Yeah.
Joe
Gr. This ain't the military. This ain't no vacuum. What? MRE ready to eat meals. That ain't what this is. Hey, Joe, you ain't got nothing.
Uncle Joe
I got a little something.
Joe
I got.
Uncle Joe
I got a few jerseys. I mean, I got. That's pretty much it. I got a lot of, you know, I got a lot of signed jerseys, you know, I mean, a couple basketball.
Joe
Like when you went to the All Star game, you got people to sign stuff for you, didn't you?
Uncle Joe
Nah.
Ocho
So.
Uncle Joe
So, like when we got. When you go to the All Star game, it's a section where all the players gotta sign all the balls and all signatures and they give it to us. So, I mean, I went seven times, so I got. I got some nice stuff, bro. I got some basketballs.
Joe
Signatures ain't there no more. Them signatures on that basketball ain't there no more.
Uncle Joe
Okay, I'm. I'm out. Hey, listen, I can't tell you what. What every signature is, but, yeah, I got some. I got some stuff on.
Joe
I don't know who they are. I don't Know who they are now. But I. I didn't. The only thing I hate is that I went and I didn't get, you know, all the. I mean, think about. I had Brady, had Manny Elway, Marino, Kelly.
Ocho
Yeah.
Joe
Not one thing.
Uncle Joe
So, hey, man, I got a question. And I. I won an Emmy award, Uncle Ocho. And I, I, I. I ain't gonna lie to y'.
Joe
All.
Uncle Joe
I lost it. I wonder. How can I? You think they'll send me another?
Joe
You have to pay for it. But.
Ocho
Yeah, well, you won an Emmy, Joe. Yeah.
Uncle Joe
And didn't know. Didn't know the significance of it, neither.
Ocho
What show.
Uncle Joe
I was playing here for the Hawks, and I told my story to Fox Sports like I was growing up, so my mom was in it. I think two of my uncles was in it, and we just told a story, bro. They came to my house, set up, interviewed me and all that. And so it was like halftime or one game. They came back, they was like, hey, they want to present you with an Emmy at halftime. I'm like, well, Emmy, I didn't even know what the hell Emmy was. I ain't going to lie to you. So listen, I go out there, get the Emmy. I come back, I put it up in my locker at the arena. I put it up in my locker, and about two, three days went by, I talked to my mom. I was like, mom, I want an Emmy. And she was like, you want an Emmy, boy? Where is that? I said, it's in my locker. She cussed me out. Boy, hey, if you don't get that
Joe
damn thing up out of there and
Uncle Joe
send it to me. You know, people work their whole careers trying to win the Emmy. I'm like, man, I ain't know. But anyway, I had a flood here in my house when I was playing in Brooklyn, and it wasn't nobody here, so water had been running for, like, seven days. It flooded out, so it messed up a lot of stuff. But that's one thing I couldn't find when I came back. I'm like, damn, I couldn't find it. I don't know if somebody hit me
Ocho
for it or not, but that's a nice accomplishment. Yeah, Joe.
Joe
But they're definitely. Oh, yeah, that's a. That's a. That's a standard. Yeah, we go get one, Ocho.
Ocho
Yeah, yeah, we. Hey, we definitely, definitely is, bro. We definitely is.
Joe
That's all. It's.
Ocho
Hey, hey, Joe. I don't know why, Joe, you know, after playing all them. After playing all them years, man, and having them jerseys Having them helmets and, you know, cleats and stuff. I don't know why I, I, I don't see the value in it no more. I, I don't understand. I just, it just, Even when you was playing? Once I was done, once I was done playing, once I was done playing and I just let the storage go, man. You know, people, I mean, remember, dude found the storage, I just stopped paying for it. And people would hit me on Instagram. They would hear me like, hey, some dude got your storage and you don't. I'm like, man, I don't care now. I bought a whole new place. You know, I done started over, you know, doing everything. And I'm not taking none of that old stuff with me. And it's funny how people see things that used to be yours and they value it more than you do. And in my mind, man, I done left that place there 15 years ago. I don't want to bring it with where I'm going now. I mean, it's just weird how people think like that. I just, I don't see the value in it no more.

Brown trade rumors, Anthony Richardson’s struggles, and the complexities of NFL locker room dynamics.
This episode dives into the behind-the-scenes chess moves from the 2026 NFL Draft, focusing on the Dallas Cowboys' maneuvering, the uproar over A.J. Brown’s impending trade, and the high-stakes expectations for young quarterbacks like Anthony Richardson. Shannon Sharpe and Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson pull no punches, offering personal anecdotes and hard-hitting advice on what it takes to succeed—and survive—in pro football, both on the field and in the locker room.
(02:45 – 07:16)
Summary:

The NFL Draft is as much psychological warfare as it is scouting—no trust, all business.

The discussion is raw, candid, and often humorous, with heavy use of real locker-room lingo. Both Shannon and Ocho speak from the heart, drawing on years of NFL experience to deliver unvarnished truths about the business side of football, the importance of work ethic, and what it means to be part of the game’s brotherhood.
This episode provides exceptional insight into the inner workings of the league: what really happens on draft day, how trade rumors start and swirl, and the uncompromising nature necessary to be an NFL star—on the field, in the film room, or just surviving the “dirty business” behind closed doors. Shannon and Ocho’s banter, wisdom, and no-BS attitude make it both informative and entertaining even for those who didn’t hear it live.
