He couldn't make it today. So this, this right now is the, is the, is the Debo Show. Make sure you like, subscribe and, and download where you get, where you get your podcast. Hey. Hey, Chat. How y' all doing today? How y' all doing? Y' all doing good? Look here, my man Joe had to take care of some things. No biggie, nothing. Nothing serious. Nothing, you know, nothing too serious. So I'm gonna go ahead and fill in for us today, okay? He ain't stuck in Mexico or nothing like that. We all good. We all good. Okay? Don't y' all worry about nothing. Y' all know we're gonna get into, we'll get into a little bit of this stellar ball. We're probably gonna talk some of that brown stuff. I don't know. We're gonna get into some other stuff too. So it's kind of a little, little last minute curveball. But listen, we gonna be good, baby. We go, hey, we go be Good look here, man. The Steelers over here, we got a little report talking about Darnells Washington, our. Our big tight end over there. They saying his value don't went up a little bit. And you know, they're getting that from the last recent little bit of signings of these. These tight ends over here. They got. They think the Steelers will have to pay more for Darnell Washington after this offseason because the price tag has gone up. That people. I believe it to be true, but that's only if the Steelers want to keep him. You know, I doubt they won't keep him, but that's going to be dependent on how the new coaching staff is going to use him. You know, while Washington getting a new deal no longer feels like a lock with the new coaching staff, that's only because it's going to pivot on how they're going to use him in the offense. And when you look at it, I believe right now you have Kittle. Kittle and think McBride, Arizona and San Francisco as a couple of the top guys. But the big one that's messing it up. I ain't gonna say messing it up. That's wrong. Is the pits over there in Atlanta. They franchised him, so that right there is. Is changing the market a little bit. But what people have to understand is that it's sure do have pride move. Okay. And right now he's around 12 a year, so a realistic number for Washington, I would say somewhere between maybe that 8 and 10 range max. And that's assuming that they have plan hands to use him effectively. You know, just. What was that? Oh, my goodness. The tight end that we just let go. Was it John New? I think he was making seven. And I would agree that, yeah, seven. I don't know. Seven could do it, might not do it. Who knows? You know, he's coming off of an injury, too. But the old price obviously won't. Won't be the new price, so. And honestly, I think that's the, you know, the least of our worries as far as guys that need to get a deal done that have a year left. You have nephew, of course. We gotta get something done with nephew. And we got boss. We definitely got to get something done with boss. Stillers need that. As a matter of fact, Mr. Rooney said distillers will be putting in black seats that will be installed in the upper deck of Acura Acrosure Stadium. My braces could be getting in the way. Y' all gotta understand. My braces be getting in the way. I guess it's only gonna be in the upper deck for now. He said, we're making changes to the seating. The sea of gold sometimes get overwhelming. So we did a little black and gold in there this time around. Chat, do y' all agree with putting in black seats? Where'd the chat say? Or the chat. Yeah, see, it was John Newsman. I was right. Okay, okay. Y' all like putting in the black seats or not? Y'. All. Y' all think we should go with it? Don't go with it. Do you care? Does it matter? What do y' all think? Like, the still is putting in black seats. To me, like, I think that's something that should have been done a long time ago. When you look at it, our colors are black and gold. It's not just gold, but again, you have to look at what the use of the stadium is. Like, who all use the stadium now? When you look at it, we share a stadium. The Pit Panthers also use the stadium. Their colors, blue and gold. Black and gold. That may have been a. Middle ground of, you know, what? Won't go black. We won't go blue. We'll just go just gold, you know. But when it comes down to it, the bigger reason is when you put dark seats in there, you can't see who's not sitting there, which I don't understand, because I believe, like, we got season tickets sold out. I think, like, aren't we sold out for so many years in advance or something like that? Like, I don't know. Now. Yes, you can see when the upper doesn't have as many people in it. I know. You know, back when we used to play, like, it was. It was hard work getting to see. There was sometimes that, you know, even as a player, you. You couldn't get. You couldn't even buy the number of tickets, you know, sometimes that you needed, depending on, you know, game circumstances and who we were playing, what time, all that. So I don't know. Like, it just. I don't know. But I like the black and gold premise. It's gonna look cool. And now it makes sense why you don't put them at the bottom. You want it. You want to see everybody in the seats, you need to feel those. They gotta be filled. And matter of fact, when you go to the pit games, I believe they cover up, like, certain areas and in sections of it that you can't even sit. I believe, like, they put, like, the banners or the team logos and the names and all that other stuff. So. Okay, I agree. It makes a little sense. Like they said. Listen, listen, the waiting list, they say 25. 25 plus year waiting list. That's. Wow. Is that true? I see why the resale market be going crazy. You can't, you can't. 20. That's wild. You can't even get on the list. Who we. Hey, be careful on the resale tickets. Now, y' all know some of them teams out there, they, they making it to where if they see other fans in those seats and they find that out, they go, you go lose your, you go lose your season ticket privileges. And they go, they go sell.

Don't give them away. They go sell them. Give them away. Be careful now. Sure you don't do too many at too many times. Yes. Tell you what, check on down. Here we go. See who agrees disagrees with having black seats. Let's go. We'll go put a poll. We got a poll right here, right now. Now we really want to talk about. I really needed Joe here, but we'll talk about Cleveland. But now I can actually just go the tangent about Cleveland. So the Browns may be trading their number six pick, Browns GM Mr. Andrew Barry, discuss potential plans for the number six overall pick in this year's NFL Draft. It seems trading down is possible, although there's still a lot to be determined, including who the Browns take if they stay at number six. Barry said this right here. He said it really depends on the prospects available. I don't know what we'll find. I don't know if we'll find a trade partner, but I would tell you guys, I don't know that we're going to be picking at six at the end of May. And if we are picking six, I have no idea where we're going to or who, what we're going to take at this point. So this is just me. Chad, do, do y' all think that this is a possibility of your guy or the gm? I don't know if he's your guy. Ain't my guy. Joe's guy of him trading. Oh, this number six pick. All right, now the Browns need a tackle, offensive lineman of some sort, whatever that is. Now, with that being said, this is what I believe is happening. Okay. I think he just chumming the water. You know how like when you go on shark hunting or you. You going fishing for sharks or whatever it may be you put out there, the thing that most attracts them, okay? And for sharks, it's, you know, blood in the water. Okay? Now, maybe he's trying to see, you know, if there's some team out there willing to give up that six spot. Because you have to realize that the Browns got three picks in the top 39. So they got a six, they got a 24, and they got a 39. So this is just me thinking out loud, okay? And I would assume the guy that they actually want at one as they won is either one not there, period. Because he just said himself, we have no idea who that is. That's one or two. They feel strongly about whoever it is that they want that he's going to be available at 24. So why not put it out there at a possibility of trading the six if that king help you get something of greater value when you already feel like the guy that you want will still be there at 24. It's other teams out there that have a. A greater need for a higher position and may be willing to give up more value to get that spot. Like, I'm just. I mean, I'm just saying, like, when you put it out there, hey, what Andrew Berry is doing, we gotta watch this dude, okay? We gotta watch this dude, all right? And he ain't talking to me. He ain't talking. He talk. He ain't talking to the fans. He talking to y' all other GMs out there, okay? He playing with y'. All. He playing with y'.
Lily Herman
All.
Sports and news commentator (possibly Debo Joe)
Don't. Hey, don't let him play with you like this. You understand? Don't. Do not. Do not let him play with y' all like this. This is Cleveland, okay? This is the Cleveland rounds. And this is just me. Like I said, I look at both sides. This is me spitballing, speedballing. But, like, this ain't, like this new type Cleveland feel with them trying to say the same thing, have a. You know, have actual coordinated, you know, effort and approach to things. And, you know, him out here just throwing stuff out there. You know, it's. It's seeming like they're. They're getting smarter, and, you know, I just don't. I hope it ain't happening, because that's not the Cleveland way. You know, Cleveland don't smarten up. You know, they. They revert back. You know, like, that's just what they do. It's a reason that, you know, Cleveland ain't even won the AFC north since 1989. You talking about 1989 was last time they had an AFC north title. Gas was less than a dollar. Like, chat, was he. Was Joe even born then? Like, what. When was Joe born, Chat? He young. He young. I got. I might. I got kids his age, you know, I might even been a fan like
Sam Altman
I think I was.
Sports and news commentator (possibly Debo Joe)
I might have been a fan back then. Let me see. 89. 89 was 89. Gas less than. Matter of fact, Man, Joe. Joe. Joe was Joe. Joe was born in 99. Nope. Don't sound right. Nope. Joe was born in 89. I guess he was born the same year. He wouldn't have been able to see it or remember it, though, you know? Hell, when I started driving gas. Well, let me say legally drive. When I started legally driving gas was like 97.98, something like that. What was it that. I don't. Listen, I. Hold up. I got a story for you, though. Let me get with this. So. So I was driving, right? Well, like I said, legally driving. So when I was, like, 12, I had to be 12, max. My dad, he. He used to let me. Let me drive the car. So this is how it all started. All right. All right. My dad would let me drive when I was. I don't know, I was too young to even touch the pedal. So, you know how you. You just do the steering, you steer the. You know, you steer the wheel. He controls the pedal and all that. And, you know, that probably happened when I was like, 10, nine or something like that, even younger. Who knows? Who knows? Whatever. Whatever. Whatever that may be, all right? Because I was just too small to touch the pedals. And he lets you do the steering, the driving and all that. And he actually would let the wheel go, you know, because I would get nervous when he first started doing. I'm like, oh, snap. Like, he gonna let the wheel go, you know? But anyway, I got to where I was, like, maybe 11 or so before I was able to, like, really start. And the first car I learned how to drive was a. Was a stick shift. Like back in the day when you. If you had a, you know, a stick shift car, it was cheaper, so it was a. You know, it was a stick shift. So by the time I was 12, like, that was. That was it. Like, he actually let me drive. So the crazy part. So this is how it happened. My dad would get home from work, right? So when he got home from work, if he had forgot to play his numbers or get his cigarettes, y' all know how that go when you're a kid? Like, hey, they ain't played the numbers. I got cigarettes. You Got to walk to the stove. I walk to the stove. You got to go take the numbers. You gotta play the numbers. And you. They already know who your mom and daddy is. So when you come in there to get them cigarettes, they already know. Okay, yeah, that's so and so. Some. Whatever. Go ahead, give them the cigarettes. But if you come in there and you ask for a brand of cigarettes that ain't in there, you go, you know, you might get told on because I was back in the day where, you know, the neighbors go ahead and pop on you, whoop your ass if you do something wrong. Your mama didn't already gave them permission to go ahead. If you see anything, you let me know. And if I ain't around, you go ahead and you. You tap that ass. So that's. That's the error we're in, right? So my dad gets home one day. I'm 12 years old, dude, and he's like, hey, I need you to. I need you to go play my numbers. Give me some cigarettes. And he's like, take the car. I said, huh? He said, yeah, take the car. Just make sure you don't hit nothing. I'm like, cool. Okay. So I go, I'm like, 12, dude. I'm going to play the numbers and get some cigarettes. You know, I ain't gonna even lie. I was a little nervous. And just to think about that now, man, like, to actually let my sons go and be like, at 12, hey, take the car, go to the stove and. And get me whatever you gonna get me at 12. That's. That's crazy. That's crazy. Like, my dad was out of control. Hey, he had a lot of. Hey, he had a lot of trust, but he was. Listen, man, listen. I know some of y' all over there had had dads that was letting y' all drive the whip when y' all ain't have a liquor license. Like, it's. It's. No. Anyway, man, so the very first time I drive to the store, you know, I'm nervous. I take the route, right. The. The right route to get there, the shortest route. And by the time I got comfortable, it was over with. Y' all already know what I was doing.

I was taking the long way. I was going around the block. I was going past my homeboys houses, you know, that was in that 3, 4 block radius, you know, so they could see me driving the whip and all that while they sitting over there, you know what I'm saying? Outside playing in the grass, riding a bicycle like little kids, you know, I'm out here driving. I'm a grown man out here driving. What are you talking about, bro? What are you talking about? I wasn't crazy enough to pick nobody up. No, I ain't. I ain't do nothing like that. But, like, that's, that's what I was doing, bro. Like, that's, that's, that, that's what I was doing. And this is why Cleveland, like, they ain't gonna never. I ain't gonna say yeah. As long as it still is in the afc. You know, leaving ain't gonna get another AFC title. That's all this to it. So whatever you trying to do over there, Barry, whatever bait and snatching, whatever you trying to do, it ain't gonna work. I done told on you. I done told on you. They know if Joe was here, he would know. He would probably say something out of the ordinary like, y' all working together. Y' all doing something smart. Like, that's not happening. We know y' all do something good for a short period of time, and then it all lips transpires into something that Cleveland does. It's the Cleveland way. Yes, the Cleveland way. This is not the Cleveland way, you know, but it is kind of the approach because y' all give them hope. Give them hope. Y', all, you know, y' all gotta keep that fan base there. Like they're not, they're not smart enough to understand that it's really no hope here, you know? Like, I don't. I would say I feel sorry for you, but I don't. I don't. Somebody gotta be the loser. And it's. It's no reason that it shouldn't be anybody else but a Cleveland Browns fan, you know? Dog Pound Bark Bar. If y' all can't even speak with words, like, what is that? Oh, my goodness, bro. Like, here we go, Stillers. We speak with words. Y' all going. And dog don't even bite. Dog don't even bite. Listen, my guy, Kirk Cousins is the coldest around. I say my guy because he's getting that money. That's, that's all he do is get money. He been getting money. Like, that's all he do is collect. Kirk Cousins will sign a five year, 172 million dollar deal with the Raiders that in reality is a one year fully guaranteed 20 million dollar deal that contains a optional two year 80 million now. Oh, that's a combination. So the Falcons will pay Kirk Cousins 8.7 this season. The Raiders 1.3 million. Las Vegas will agree to a new quarterback. Fully agreed 10 million roster bonus on the third day of 2027 league season. Like I said, Kurt Gorillas went out there. I don't know who his agent is. I don't know what's going on. But this is the 11th straight season in the NFL in which Kurt Cousins contract will be fully guaranteed. Fully guaranteed. Maybe that agent needs to start doing something with the nflpa. I don't know. Anyway, let me, let me, let me go somewhere else. Like I said, I don't know who his agent is. I don't know who. Nine, two. Listen, I don't, I don't, I don't know who, who it is but I don't think it's so much as agent as it is the circumstances of like where he's signing these contracts at for these teams. So the Raiders are obviously selecting Mendoza. So everybody knows that they're going to be selecting Mendoza for their, for their draft. So with that when you look at it they're obviously look or to me it's looking like I will say that they're going to sit him and let him learn behind Kurt for a year and then they'll go from there. I personally don't know if this looks or, or not not the look, but if this plan is a good idea, I don't know if I like or dislike it but I'll, I'll lean towards being a good thing just for a learning curve for, for Mendoza. And I believe that like this plan is why it's 20 million guaranteed. So Kurt is like cool, 20 million guaranteed. Which means he may be. Well he's probably going to be starting. I don't know if he will but I'm gonna assume that he's going to be starting 20 million. That's a great deal. So Kurt's like cool, let's do this. But since I'm doing this, I' ma need y' all to agree to something. And I'm Kurt, I'm betting on me, okay. And I'm betting I'm gonna go out here and kill it and I'm gonna make you have to make a difficult decision of either letting me go and running with Mendoza or activating that 2 year 80 million dollar option that could be worth what they say, up to 172 million in five years. So I'm assuming The Raiders saw this as the best deal possible considering. I think last week, just this week, sorry, Aaron Rodgers was linked to possibly going to the Raiders. But what do you just get? 20 million? Raiders gave Kurt 20 million. Ain't no way. I believe that's something that Aaron Rodgers would entertain for 20 million, especially after being over there with the jets and seeing how that turned out. And now you're going to go to the Raiders that really. How many times did Geno like, get sacked last year? Like, he ain't trying to deal with that for 20. Like. Like, what are you talking about? So I just. I just don't. I don't know. I like. I like Kurt. I don't. I don't like him. I don't like him that much. But, hey, I'm happy for you though. That's no question. Like, guaranteed money for the last 11 years straight, non stop. And now a possibility of going in there and getting this, plus picking up an option for 2 for 80, 40 a year. Listen, again, like I said, I'm. I'm just sitting back and I'm just. I'm just thinking out loud. I think this is what Kurt was looking at. He's like, yo, y' all picking up Mendoza for real? For real. Yeah. He ain't gonna be ready in a year or two, maybe three. He said, all right, I'm gonna go in here, I'm gonna get this money. I'm gonna play for whatever y' all want me to play for right now. But hey, on the back end, y' all gonna have to make it up. I'm gonna need that option. Smart man. And look here, man, if he ain't got to play, it's cool. He getting 20 this year no matter what. Like Kirk Cousins. Just calling Kirk, guaranteed Cousins. That's. That. That's gonna be. That's gonna be his new name. It gotta be his name, brother.

Date: April 3, 2026
Hosts: Shannon Sharpe (Unc), Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson (Ocho)
Guest Host: Deebo (solo, as Joe is out)
This episode of Nightcap is a solo run with Deebo as Joe is out, bringing his signature humor and unfiltered takes to the latest NFL storylines. Deebo dives into hot topics, including the Steelers’ offseason moves, the Cleveland Browns’ draft strategy, and the financial wizardry of Kirk Cousins' contracts—plus a sprinkling of personal stories and audience banter as only Nightcap can deliver.
Timestamps: 06:00–10:30
Darnell Washington’s Value Going Up: The Steelers’ tight end, Darnell Washington, is reportedly worth more after the offseason due to rising tight end contracts around the league. The recent franchise tag for Kyle Pitts in Atlanta is “changing the market a little bit.”
“They think the Steelers will have to pay more for Darnell Washington after this offseason, because the price tag has gone up.” — Deebo (07:28)
Contract Speculation: Realistically, Deebo expects Washington’s new deal to land in the $8–10 million/year range, “assuming they have plans to use him effectively.” Compares to other tight ends and recalls Jonnu Smith making $7 million.
Front Office and Team Colors: Deebo jokes about the new black seats being installed at Acrisure Stadium, reasoning that the classic “sea of gold” was “a little overwhelming” and that black/gold makes sense as the "actual team colors." He polled the audience:
“Does it matter? What do y’all think about the Steelers putting in black seats? To me, that’s something that should’ve been done a long time ago.” — Deebo (09:50)
Ticket Availability: Notes that there’s a 25+ year waiting list for Steelers season tickets, making the resale market “crazy.” Warns that teams are cracking down on season ticket holders who resell to opposing fans:
"Be careful on the resale tickets. … Some of them teams … you go lose your season ticket privileges." — Deebo (11:05)
Timestamps: 17:45–25:15
Trade Rumors for the #6 Pick: Browns GM Andrew Berry hints they might trade down from the #6 spot in the draft, but everything hinges on who’s available. Deebo’s take is that Berry is “chumming the water”—throwing out rumors to see if another team will bite:
“He’s trying to see if there’s some team out there willing to give up that six spot.” — Deebo (18:45)
Draft Capital & Target Players: The Browns have three picks in the top 39 (6, 24, 39). If the player they want will be there at #24, Deebo sees value in trading down:
"Why not put it out there … if you feel like the guy you want will still be there at 24?" — Deebo (20:10)
Browns’ History and Hopes: Deebo provides a humorous history lesson, razzing the Browns’ lack of AFC North titles since 1989 and alluding to the “Cleveland way”—implying that any apparent move toward smarter management is probably a mirage:
"Cleveland don’t smarten up. … It’s a reason Cleveland ain’t even won the AFC North since 1989." — Deebo (23:00) "Somebody gotta be the loser. No reason it shouldn’t be a Cleveland Browns fan." — Deebo (36:00)
Timestamps: 38:00–45:27
Kirk Cousins Signs with Raiders: Details on the contract: 5 years, $172 million on paper, but realistically a 1-year, $20 million fully guaranteed deal, with a 2-year, $80 million option.
"This is the 11th straight season … Kirk Cousins’ contract will be fully guaranteed." — Deebo (41:40)
The ‘Guaranteed’ King: Deebo laughs about Cousins’ ability to secure guaranteed money and coins the nickname “Kirk Guaranteed Cousins.”
“That’s all he do is get money. He been getting money. Like, that’s all he do is collect.” — Deebo (41:00) “Just call him Kirk, guaranteed Cousins. … That’s gonna be his new name.” — Deebo (44:50)
Raiders QB Strategy: Assumes the Raiders are drafting Mendoza and will let him sit behind Cousins for a year. Deebo doesn’t love or hate the move but sees the logic as a learning curve for the rookie. He speculates Cousins is betting on himself with that contract’s structure.
Aaron Rodgers Rumor: Mentions Rodgers was loosely linked to the Raiders but dismisses that Rodgers would play for $20 million or endure the Raiders’ protection issues.
Timestamps: 25:20–30:10, 35:38–38:00
“My dad gets home one day … He’s like, take the car. I’m like, cool. I’m like 12, dude.” — Deebo (27:00) "I was going past my homeboys’ houses … so they could see me driving the whip … while they sitting outside playing in the grass, riding a bicycle like little kids. … I’m out here driving. I’m a grown man out here driving." — Deebo (35:45)
| Topic | Start | End | |-------------------------------------------------|---------|---------| | Steelers’ Offseason/Tight End Market | 06:00 | 11:30 | | Steelers Stadium Seating & Ticket Culture | 10:30 | 13:00 | | Browns #6 Draft Pick Trade Rumors & History | 17:45 | 25:15 | | Deebo’s Childhood Driving Anecdote | 25:20 | 30:10 | | Kirk Cousins Signs with Raiders, Analysis | 38:00 | 45:27 |
As always, Deebo brings a mix of sharp football analysis, locker room storytelling, and crowd banter, sprinkled with sarcasm and playful trash talk. The tone is conversational and authentic, creating a “hangout at Unc’s house” atmosphere even when it’s a solo show.
This episode packs honest, sometimes biting sports talk:
Whether you root for the Browns, the Steelers, or just enjoy unvarnished football talk, you’ll get a taste of classic Nightcap here.
