The Timberwolves now have number one and number three picks from the 2020 draft. Joe, did Minnesota just become a dangerous backcourt in the Western Conference after pairing Mellow and Ant man together in Minnesota?

If y' all notice, we always talk about a copycat league, whether it's the NFL, whether it's the NBA. You see what Minnesota got going on. They trying to surround Rudy with all these tweeners who can do a little bit of everything. Kind of like how San Antonio. Obviously Rudy ain't no damn wimby. But you know, they playing, they. Hey, I kind of see it same way with New York. New York got Cat at the 5, but then you got OG Hart, Bridges, and then you got, you know, you got all these tweener guys around them. So I can kind of see that's what Minnesota's going because they got rid of their beef.

Yeah, Joe, I think the thing is that they need more scoring. They need consistent scoring. They need somebody that Ant man that can absorb some of these double teams. From Ant Man.

Ant man was facing constant double teams and so. And to try to lighten the load on him, he has a guy that can stretch the floor. They haven't had this type of guy in a very, very long time. He can shoot the three. He has good a one leg shooting three as we have in the NBA. He can put the ball on the floor. He got a nice flow game he can finish. Now look, he ain't much on the defensive end, but he put so much pressure. He and AD man are going to put so much pressure on you on the offensive end. And he says this is what we need. This is a scoring lead. Excuse me league. You're not fitting to hold somebody to 80, 90 points consistently. You might have a game, maybe two games where you keep a team under 100, but you better be able to score on the other end. Cause if you counting on your offense night in and night out. Joe, like this was the 90s, the 80s, the whole team's under 90 points. That issue ain't happening in today's game anymore.

Nah, nah, nah. I see Lamelo, Uncle Ocho, he gonna make the game a lot easier for Ant man, you know what I mean? Because Lamelo is a pass first point guard who can score, you know what I'm saying? So it's gonna be nice where he probably gonna have 16 assists, 12 points. It's gonna be other nights he may have 27 points and 8, 9 assists, you know what I'm saying? Like he's one of those guys who's gonna be able to fill out the game. But he knows he, he gonna always have to get Ant man going. So I think his high IQ for the game is so underrated. I'm glad he's been put in this position to where he can kind of showcase what he can do on a, on, on a, on a playoff caliber team, you know, who, who's trying to, you know, ultimately win a championship. Now I know they want to do anything they can, bro, to, to please Ant man and try to keep him around. I think this is a step in the right direction now. Although I don't think they done because you gotta have, you gotta have some sides talking, Ocho. You gotta have something. You ain't got nothing but that ain't gonna, dang, gonna die.

They want to build around Brandon Miller. They want now so we got Kobe, we got Knipple, we got Brandon Miller. I like what we got right now. And so I am people like oh I'm shocked. I am not shocked by this. And plus Mellow injury history.

Is he an all NBA selection? Is it all defensive selection? Is he an mvp? Is he a defensive player of the year? Because now that makes you get a super max contract. Now we get to that third contract, Joe, that's 290. That's 300.

And at this third contract, hell, we still ain't no damn playoffs team. There it is. You know what I'm saying? So you're right Unk. These teams are trying to get away from that. But to kind of piggyback on what you were saying about the Kobe white thing. I think he played so well in those play in games, Uncle Ocho, and not even just then, but since he came from Chicago, I think he's been so consistent. He was just great in those play in games that I think they really looked at it and was like, you know what? Hell if we do have to get off lamelo, that's cool. I feel like Jacoby can run this point. You know we like Con Canepa. We like Brandon Miller. You know, we like the high energy guys that we got, man. Maybe we just move forward because if you fighting to get in the damn play in and understanding, you know, hell, the heat done got better. The east done got a little thicker too. You know what I mean? So why not move on? Why not move on him now when he's probably at his highest value? Because he's just coming off probably his best season statistically. In the NBA.

And Melo can score. We know Melo can score. He's a Scott. I mean you don't realize how tall he is. He's legit six, seven.

Now we fighting for 9, 8, 9, 10 left. Nah, hell nah. 300 million for that. Nah, let somebody else deal with that.

So to let a figure of that magnitude go and then you pair him with someone who just as polarizing as he is on the court, off the court now Minnesota gotta worry about is they gotta make sure, you know, he dragged the right way. That's it.

Let me ask Ocho. Yeah, they traded Luka Doncic. Now with them training Luka Doncic, he's a six time first team all NBA selection. Do you think who is untradeable in the NBA? Nicola Yoko?

What? 30, 32, 33, 34 points a game. Yes, he's done that. But band injuries are starting to creep up. There's some habits that he has, the working out habit. There's some habits that he got that you know. You know Ocho, I mean look, he's a phenomenal Talent, we're not taking that away from him. But to give 350 and it's kind of hard to get him to like, like the old mute. My grandma used to say, boy, can't get you like a mule. Can't get you to go. I mean go or stop. If we can't get him to jihad, he's on a rookie contract or first and second contract. What the hell we gonna do when he get to 300? 350. Nothing.

We seen the double teams that Ant man was getting who could take some pressure off of him. And this is one guy who I definitely going to help. But I think for Minnesota, what they're really looking for, uncle and Ocho, is for Jaden McDaniels to take that next step.

He has to take that next step. I know we talk about it all the time and I tell you, he gonna need anywhere from a nice efficient 16 to 22, 24 points a night consistently, bro, for them to be effective and still be that defensive paralyse like a Scottie Pippen type, you know what I mean?

What if you get it back, it's gonna be with four seconds on the clock, bro. You had the ball for 12 seconds and all you did was beep beep, beep, beep, and then shoot a wild shot. And then look at the referee.

For every Draymond Green and Nicola Jokic and Jalen Brunson, second round picks that turn out to be, well, we know Jokic is going to be a Hall of Famer, Draymond Green is trending in that direction. Two MVPs, a Defensive Player of the Year, four championships, and Jalen Brunson is what he's done. He, he's definitely trending in that direction. How many second round picks we actually think going to do something? I mean, you had, you got way back when, when it was like four or five rounds, you had Willis Reed, if I'm not mistaken, the second round pick. But for the most part in the mock common draft, that ain't happening. So for them to give up a first round pick, even, even later, first round picks, basically you. You trying to get guys that a lot. Look at the guys that weren't MVPs. Most of those guys are early round picks, at least top 10.

We talked about this the other night. But the shocking news of the day. The Boston Celtics have agreed to trade Jaylen Brown to the Philadelphia 76ers for Paul George. Two first round picks, two second round picks. The Celtics are really originally was asking the Sixers to include VJ Edgecombe in the trade. Boston asking price on Brown continue to fall over the past few weeks until they accepted a deal centered around Paul George and picks Jalen Brown. Now check this out. The NBA has now traded Paul George for Shay Gilgis. Jay Jaylen Brown the Montes Sabonis, Victor Oladipo, Denali Gallinari. Seven first round picks, four pick swaps. Paul George has now become the most valuable player in NBA history. Joe, we had talked about this. We saw the writing on the wall that the Celtics was getting rid of Jaylen Brown. And we, we don't get. We can go in a little further depth. But when you heard this news what our first thing that went through your mind, man.

You know what? As we've been talking about this lately, I'm like with all these scenarios that's been coming out about Jaylen Brown getting traded, I didn't really understand why. And for him to get traded, it doesn't surprise me Uncle Ocho. But to send him to Philly for Paul George, obviously Boston's trying to save some money to some degree. You know what I mean Knowing and understanding that Ocho. Yeah. We're going to have to deal with the riff of trading him today and we understand that but hell come next season he gonna be looking to re up and get him another contract. And if we dealing with this now, we can't, you know, we can't continue to do business like that. So while he's hot, while he's still probably at his highest value, let's see what we can get for him. And I think they got, you know I think it was a pretty even swap. For real. If you just want me to keep it 100 high, it's even.

And if you blind, you really can't see it. You can't see what they trying to do. You just defend your place.

It's easy to blame people that get on TV and talk for a living about it. Y' all making up story. I remember we was talking about it last year, Ocho. They talk about. Must be a slow news day. It sped up in a hurry, didn't. It was slow. Now, I. I ain't one of them guys to sit back, but I told you, Joe and I remember and I have this conversation. I said, two 300 million dollar contracts, two. Jalen Brown is in line to get two years, 143 million extension as we sit here.

And then reading a little bit about it, somebody was covered today. The guy that's the front of the face of the Celtics, really, he's the face of it, but he didn't put up the most money. He got a venture capitalist group and they got more control.

I think it can be great, but he can't be no ball stopper to where it's messing up the rhythm, bro. You know what I mean? Like, you got some young thoroughbred, some boys who can get out. JB gonna be able to get heels on both ends of the floor. I think that's valuable piece, honestly, because if he comes in, he could be a lockdown defender, and he's giving you roughly 22 to 25 a night. I'm talking about efficiency. He's going. Look, he going to be looking to prove a lot of people wrong, and he's going to be looking to show how valuable he is, meaning he's going to be a winning piece to the right situation. And I think, hey, I'm not mad at it, bro. I like him. In Philly, if they could figure it out, if B can stay healthy, hell, maybe 60 games. Uncle Ocho can embiid give us 60 games.

I mean, okay, hey, that's all I want to say. Once you get to that pro bowl and you see all them other guys in that pro bowl and how they talk, Ocho, good job, bad. Hey, hey, there's a bad. So I'm looking, I'm looking at, looking at it from that view standpoint where you got two people as a coach offensively, but hell, I got two dudes that can get it off the goddamn muscle. I ain't got to do nothing. So in hindsight I'm seeing it as a good thing as opposed to, God Damn, I got 1A and 1B. I'm looking at it a little different.

Yeah, I think in basketball when you got a guy like Bead, if it's free flowing. Yeah, you can get that. Embiid is not a free flowing player. He needs the ball and he needs to boot. Boop, boop. I'm standing around, what am I supposed to do in the meantime, Joe? What am I supposed to be doing while he doing? When he back it, when he back it up and he looking to see if the double team coming and he's steady back it up, what am I supposed to be doing?

Look, your opportunity's gonna come, but they gonna be far few in between. They ain't gonna be like they used to. So the ones that you do get, Uncle Ocho, you know, you gotta make them count, bro. You gotta make em account. Cause see, once you playing with a lot of talent like this, I feel like the NBA is running into this because you have a lot of guys teaming up, a lot of star players teaming up with other star players, bro. It takes some, you know, sacrificing a little bit. You know what I mean, so you gonna have to. You can't. You can't come out thinking you finna average 30, and you with Maxi Edgeman, Embiid. What I'm saying is, man, that efficient, 22 a night, 24 a night, that you probably can give them gonna be far better than you trying to get 30. You feel me? Like, I think they got. I think Embiid can play that role to some degree. Cause he's a good pick and pop big who can shoot the ball. But the thing is, man, every time we come down court, if you sitting on the block, waiting for the ball, calling for the ball, then that's gonna Be a problem. Ocho, you gotta set some of these up picks. Set me a screen right when I cross half. That way I got a lot more real estate to work with, you know what I'm talking about? Yeah, but every time we come down, I'm getting into my. I'm getting into my dance and you run down there posting up. Damn, I need to get out of the way trying to get through here.

He has that type of body, him and Edgecombe. That's why I like this move for the Sixers. And I think they gonna cause a lot of hell boy in the Eastern Conference.

But you know what? The Celtics don't hold him in very high regard. Ain't no way in hell I'm trading a guy that was in the MVP discussion the whole year. That's the all NBA selection who's a Finals MVP of Eastern Conference. And I'm gonna trade him to one of our better rivals.
