Joe (likely Joe Haden)
I'm doing great brother Debo. Beautiful day, great weekend. Saturday, kicked it with the kids, you know what I'm saying? Had a great pool day, weather was amazing. Sunday church, you know what I'm saying? Pops goes to my pops church, you know what I'm saying? Master's child out in Bowie. Great service, you know what I'm saying? And then after that Sunday, you know, Sunday nights, had my little game. So yeah, great, great weekend. Came out healthy.
James Deebo Harrison
Yeah, you got a pool. You got a pool and all that. That's crazy.
Joe (likely Joe Haden)
You know, got a nice little pool, you know, life, you know, play a little 12, say it up. A little cheese. Got a little crib tucked out the way.
James Deebo Harrison
I ain't gonna even lie. My, my weekend was uneventful. I really, I really didn't do. Didn't do much, but that's a good. The fact that I'm here is the greatest gift.
Joe (likely Joe Haden)
Waking up in the morning.
James Deebo Harrison
Yes sir. Waking up in the morning, brother. That is the greatest gift that you can get.
Joe (likely Joe Haden)
Yes, sir.
James Deebo Harrison
Now let's go on here and get get to in some more of this. The Distiller news that we got going on. A lot of. A lot of stuff that we got to get into.
Joe (likely Joe Haden)
Actually let's get to it.
James Deebo Harrison
We got distillers. They announced their 2026 hall of Honor inductees. The class will have former GM Kevin Colbert, Craig Woley who passed was it a year or two ago. He was offensive lineman drafted in 1980 and he was part of the Steelers radio crew from 2002 until his. His pass Lee. And then you got J.T. thomas, first round pick, 1973. Played corner 73 to 81 in the backfield with of course Mel Blunt. Congratulations to you guys, man. Look forward to, to them guys being inducted is well deserved honor.
Joe (likely Joe Haden)
And
James Deebo Harrison
couldn't couldn't happen to a. To a better gym. No, I'm lying.
Joe (likely Joe Haden)
Yeah, but deserving.
James Deebo Harrison
Messing with Kevin.
Joe (likely Joe Haden)
Good dude.
James Deebo Harrison
Now don't question the water, brother. Let's jump on in over here, man. See what we got cracking over here at training camp over the last. What was it? Was it been three, four days? Well, the last couple days. Let's just see what the last couple days had for us. Right now it's Monday, so Distillers actually will have their first, their first padded practice. Okay, man, see look, my braces might be off. I might be off. I might be off. They might get taken off next weekend, Joe. They might get taken. Okay, okay. 45 years, 318, 50, 000 days. They might get taken off though, man.
Joe (likely Joe Haden)
I am, I am. I'm rooting for you, brother.
James Deebo Harrison
Hey, I'm rooting for me too. But today, Monday. Yeah, the first day of a padded practice.
Joe (likely Joe Haden)
So let's go.
James Deebo Harrison
All the not tackling that actually is going to be tackling, which I believe. Yes, it's going to be. Thud. Up, hit, rap. Release, release, releasing. So you know, other guys can pursue.
Joe (likely Joe Haden)
Yes.
James Deebo Harrison
I don't think any of this is going to affect the physicality of our team, you know, because you're still going to have to. You're still going to have to hit you Know, I think it'll make us. Like I said before, it'll definitely make us better tacklers, because now you have to get up there, you have to come to Bo. You got to bend your knees, you got to form tackle because you can't lunge. You can't. You can't just reach out. You got to get. Yes. You got to get all that in place. And you know what? Now think about it. It might make us more physical.
Joe (likely Joe Haden)
Come on, man. You have to put your pads on
James Deebo Harrison
somebody that's not used to coming down there with that force. You got to come with that force and you got to bring that force. You got to meet force with force, because you don't know if that running back is going give you that or if he go try and shake you. So you got to come to balance and realize that, you know what? I got to meet force with force, you know, is no longer me cutting and diving that tackles and all that. What do you think?
Joe (likely Joe Haden)
No, I mean, you speaking in facts, because that getting in position, when you can be able to reach out your arms, it's really watching the tape. Are you in football position to be able to st a man up? That's tougher than being able to run kind of chase down, lunge, dive. When you got to put a body on the body, that's putting you in position that you're not. You don't have to get to that. It makes it more. You got to do it. You got to take a couple more steps. You got to get yourself in position a little better. So, I mean, with this technique wise, for sure, tackling want to get people on the ground, but that's just causing injuries where I feel like, end of the day, you're in the NFL. Like, you know what I'm saying? You know how to tackle, you know how to get people on the ground. So thudding them up, getting yourself into that position and football positions. And now, okay, boom. And I'm stopping the momentum. Like, when you're watching, like DB for practice with the thudding up tempo, that's legit. Because if you made me tackle him, let me get to right where I need to go and I can shoot his legs. Like, that's what I'm trying to tackle there. When I gotta thud him up, it's like, all right, bring your pads. You might get pushed back a little bit, but you gotta really, you know what I'm saying? Still, man, put your pads on them. It's gonna be a nice little thud. It's like, okay, boom. Tackling right here, that would have been easy. I had to tackle him. No problem.
James Deebo Harrison
Yeah, definitely. I guess we had Ian Rappaport. He flew up to training camp, I guess stopped up there for a visit, and he said that it's a lot of people or, or a lot of people said that it's great or it's good. It's a good difference that, that they're seeing, I think. I can't. Yeah, yeah, yeah. A lot of guys says that, you know, it's good to, to have. I think when, you know, when you say. Or when guys say that or whoever is saying that, it kind of depends on the person who, who says it. Because when you, you know, you talk about it, I think a big part of it is just like new, you
Joe (likely Joe Haden)
know, you don't know what you don't. You don't know what you don't know.
James Deebo Harrison
Right? And, And. And a big part of that newness is, I believe, is a greater understanding on both sides of the ball, offensively and defensively, schematically. That's. That's, that's what I think. And you actually have it where. Dk, A few days ago, he was, he was talking about it where he was comparing communication that, you know, he has with Aaron Rodgers. I think we got sound. We got sound on that. He would ask me what routes I want or, you know, early in the week. I could have said, hey, I like this route.
Shador (likely Shador Timmons)
I don't like this route early on
James Deebo Harrison
in the week instead of it letting it bleed until Sunday and then we
Shador (likely Shador Timmons)
get in the game and, you know, we're both like on eggshells, not knowing
James Deebo Harrison
what the other one's thinking. But now it's like an open form of communication.
Shador (likely Shador Timmons)
I like X, Y and Z, he
James Deebo Harrison
likes X, Y and Z, and we can both move forward. And yeah, like I said, that's. That's one of the things I think is, like, the, the scheme wise, communication wise, you. You have, you have a better understanding. There's no, like, he said, second guessing. They even talked to. I believe it was. They talked to T.J. and T.J. said, you know, it's a good change. And, you know, when you think about, like, you know, guys saying it's a good change, is this. I think part of the thing he was, you know, alluding to is that, you know, he was talking about, you know, some things get old. It's messaging, you know what I'm saying? Like, you start hearing the same thing over and over. Then, you know, it. It don't. It don't Hit you the same way, especially, you know, like, I can't motivate you with the same thing for 10 years straight. It's hard work. That's hard work, especially if I can't come with anything new. And he was talking about, you know, it's. It's kind of different not hearing, you know, having the time isms and all that stuff. And for me, that was. Again, that was. Yeah, it's great. It's great motivation. It's great things to hear. Pumps you up, gives you what you need. But he also Talked about Mike McCarthy, like, really, you know, giving them an understanding of what it meant to be a Pittsburgh Steeler in the city and how he had made a video and how he related the city and the steel workers to the team and how that distilled mills and how that, you know, actually is integrated into it because, you know, he's a person that grew up here. You know, you go back and you look at Mike's interview where he's actually talking about Distillers, and he. He puts in what he calls the. What was the six. Was it six fundamentals to Stiller football? So it's distiller six. He called it, I should say. And one was ball security, obviously. Another was blocking. So ball security, getting the ball, taking the ball away.
Joe (likely Joe Haden)
Okay.
James Deebo Harrison
Blocking and getting off block. So basically, you got to stay on your block, and when you're on defense, you got to work to get off your block. Tackling, breaking tackles, all this is just fundamentals. Big plays, that's just things that happen through the process of the game. And it's a certain number of big plays that each team has. And once you get to a likelihood of a higher number of those plays, you have a higher chance of winning, pursuit and finish. And, you know, that's just being relentless after the ball. Maximizing effort, finishing, no lows, locking, finishing. When you're tackling, finishing, you're chasing is. No. It's 100%, no matter what you're doing. And then when he talked about, was it mannerisms and disguises, that was something that he was talking more of, like, body language, like showing. Faking blitzes and things where quarterbacks need to. Need to understand and realize what they're. What they're looking at, the receivers understanding what they're seeing and having that communication going together, you know, with. With the quarterback and everyone else being on the same page. So, you know, I think that's what a lot of those good things that they're talking about or that they're seeing and being positive about is coming from. Where would you, would you, would you take any other different look from that or would you be on the same page? How would you say it? Joe?
Joe (likely Joe Haden)
I would think that basically I think you're saying the same thing that I'm on. TJY is saying that Mike McCarthy is a new voice. And when I was saying just the way the training camp flows, the no benches out there, it's just for real, for real. It's just, you know, it's new, it's new. It's where this coach is not playing. It's execution. And when you're saying that they're learning that the schemes on offense, the schemes on defense, the getting in and out of the huddle. Mike McCarthy has always been productive at having great offenses. So with them being able to him and Aaron Rodgers, they need to be on the same page. So with him making sure that the team is moving in a different direction, you're not just loafing. There's no, there's no lull time. There's time for us to always be able to get execution, be able to get communication together. So the skilled players, the players have never been the problem we've always had. T.J. watt, High Smith, Jalen Ramsey. It's the execution of people run open. It's the sky free. So basically we're just bringing back to the basics and making sure holding everybody accountable. So I think that's what it comes down to when Coach T's there. Loved Coach T. But like, like when I say it was a little flowy, there was people you can sit on the side. It wasn't as much like attention to detail. So the attention to detail is I think what, what they're talking about is where it's like there's no gray, there's
James Deebo Harrison
no, there's no bright, there's no gray.
Joe (likely Joe Haden)
There's no gray. What, what, what everybody's learning is the.
James Deebo Harrison
And everybody's being told the same, everybody's
Joe (likely Joe Haden)
being told the same thing. So I think that's kind of what people are saying without saying it.
James Deebo Harrison
But that's Thumbtack Presents uncertainty strikes I was surrounded the aisle and the options were closing in.

Now that's what it is. You have players. We have ballers. It's not the guys now. It's execution. You're learning the same things when DK Metcalf is saying, now I can go to him and talk. And now we don't have to go about on Sunday with not knowing what routes we were running. That's crazy. You're DK Metcalf. You should be able to go talk to Aaron Rodgers. You know this early. By Wednesday, we're already by. We know what's going on. We've already watched the tape from last game. Tuesday, Wednesday, practice, we knowing exactly what's going on. So that's. That's what we're doing, first and second down by Friday, we're knowing what I like in the red zone. We're doing that earlier in the week. So when we're saying just basic things of now I know what I like, you know, I need to be. And that's what. The eye in the sky don't lie. So it's just execution. Everybody being on each other.
James Deebo Harrison
Yeah. And that's, like you said, that that's top to bottom when you have it at the top and it goes straight for. It goes the same at the top as it is to the bot in between. It connects, man, and just flows and Matter of fact, I'm gonna give you an example. When I was in New England, I went to New England, and we had just made the. The super bowl, bro. And play against Philly, right, Bruh. It was Monday. Going into team meetings. And that was like that week before. You know how the week you stay at home and then you go the next week after. Well, I know about that, but you know what? You know. But anyway, the. Sorry, Joe. I can't. I can't help myself sometimes. Sorry, Sorry. But anyway, as soon as we came out of that meeting, bro, Tom walks past me, bro, and he's like, hey, get ready. We about to score a lot of points, bro. The man threw for 500. Some change that game, bro. We couldn't stop a damn nosebleed, bro. Like. But he went. And when he said it, dude, if they hadn't put oh Little Cooks to sleep, oh, man, it would have been tough. It would have been. It would have been a tough road to hold for him. But I don't even. I don't even know. I don't even know if they. I don't know. I don't know if they'd have been able to stop him then. But he still threw for What, a record 500 something. But anyway, my point is this, brother, he had already knew what was going down because everybody over there had the same communication. They had the same understanding, and that was literally as soon as they came out from, you know, the Monday meeting.
Joe (likely Joe Haden)
Yeah.
James Deebo Harrison
Where you. You're. You putting in your game plan and all the other stuff. So another thing, I guess Aaron, he talked to. To Mike Silva over the weekend. And I think another part is, you know, he's. He's like, real. It's like, real good with this. This last year thing, you know, he actually, I guess, reconnected with his family and all that through that process. He. I think, like, like, like the full circle thing. For him as he talked about the full circle of being, you know, with McCarthy just being his last year, all that other stuff, I think all that through that process, you know, and, and, and reconnecting and I think all that is just like part of you getting older and realizing like things come to an end as far as his career being to an end, and you start connecting that with other things. And you know, like he said through, you know, that process, it was, it wasn't like a quick thing. It was a couple year process. And you know, and I guess his, his wife was a big part of that, him getting married and different mind change, different mindset understanding and, and wanting to basically try and kill that narrative that was. That was built up over the years and, and reconnect that. I think that's something that happens as you get older and realize that, you know, this little thing that happened here that you thought was a big thing and as big as you thought it is, you know, you know, it's something that you need to be able to go back to and you can use and, and actually say, you know what, building that back. And I think, dude, like, he's like. He looked like he. He feeling himself. He looked like he feeling real good. Like everything is, is. Is like his, his talk is. Is way more positive than it was, you know, in last year, especially around this time. Like, it was, it was cool, but it wasn't that energy that came with it. What do you think, Joe? I feel you.
Joe (likely Joe Haden)
I think you come to a place of peace. I think a Rod knows where he is in his career. He knows that this is the last dance. He's happy with his family. He comes to a happy spot. So now when you have coach Mike McCarthy, you know that you're going to beat. You're Aaron Rodgers. You're going to have to do your job. You're going to have an offensive coordinator coach that's going to be putting you in positions to win, helping the team, making sure everybody else is going to have to be on their spots. Offense is going to be. He's been in Mike McCarthy's offense before, so he's confident to be like, look, if I got these guys, I got dk, I got Michael Pittman. He sees the weapons that he has around him. It's not like we don't have a mob. So with a Rod's like this, all right, this is going to be my way out. I got Mike McCarthy. I've done damage with him before. I got a nice squad around me. I got some Vets. I got some young dudes. Defensively, we have ballers. So it's not like you're going in there with a half clip. You're going into the game with a fully loaded clip. You got your. You got your offensive coordinator, you got your coach, and now you've been. You went to New York and it didn't go the way it went. It didn't happen the way it wanted to. So you still want to continue your career. Came to Pittsburgh with Coach T. New vibes, good vibes. Okay? Didn't happen like last year. Now you got. Now you announce, this is my final season. Mike McCarthy's here. I played with him before. And all that history that they had and not being able. He's been to the Jets. He's lost before. He knows, like, now all that. Let bygones be bygones. We are here now. You're new to Pittsburgh. You trying to come win something. I'm trying to come win something. Let's do something great together, because I know we know how to run this offense now. We got a good defense. We got a squad. Let's make something happen. So I think a Rod just being able to come to, like, the realization of just life is life, and the end of the career is happening for everybody. And now he's like. He doesn't want to go out weak. You know, he's a Rod. You want to go out of the top and showing dudes, you know what I'm saying? And at the same time, like, Tom Brady wasn't running around crazy. A Rod still got that arm. He can still throw the ball. He's still slinging that ball around beautifully. Where he been doing it now, guys, let's catch the rock. Rico Didle, let's run the pill. Jalen Warren. Let's run the pill. You know what I'm saying? Defenseless. Lock up. So with TJ With a Rod, he's like this. Boom. We got him. All I got. Cam got Jalen. So he's looking at his team like, man, my defense is nice. Like, these dudes, they go out there and play well, I can see them. They wouldn't have to be the reason. And then offense, we got mob, so we don't need to be the reason. Let's go out here and see what's up. So I'm loving the mindset, though, because, you know, you realize your football. Everybody has a football day. Like, you're gonna retire. It's over. Football mortality. Nobody's immortal in football.
James Deebo Harrison
No question. Nobody's anymore. On football. He said about the west coast offense. He said, I can run this offense well. At my age, I beat teams with my mind. Hey, listen, he's trying to tell you, like he was saying, as he said earlier, like, you know, it's timing. There's a lot of it is timing having that good timing with your receivers and your receivers knowing, like, yo, I can't let this dude cut me off. I'm supposed to get inside here because he's going to throw the rock on time.
Joe (likely Joe Haden)
Yes.
James Deebo Harrison
Some things aren't time. And it's a. It's. It's. It's gonna be that one on one, go one, make a play. Whoever gonna make the play, make the play, you know? Yes, I guess. I guess. He said Mike McCarthy wants Aaron to play two preseason games. I guess the packers and the Giants. And Aaron told Mike Silver, he said he wants me out there 30, 40 plays. I said, mike, if you want me to play, I'll play. I'm not saying I want to do it, but he wants me to do it. Listen, man, you understand? He don't want to be out there in no preseason game, have somebody come slap around the corner on himself.
Joe (likely Joe Haden)
For sure. For sure.
Nick Turturro
Yeah.
Joe (likely Joe Haden)
Hey, Rod, handoffs, Quick game. You know what I'm saying? Get out of there. Let's just get the flow going. Look, if the drives get. Get a good drive going. Get out there, look good. Look good.
Shador (likely Shador Timmons)
Boom. Boom.
Joe (likely Joe Haden)
Get two first downs, get a field goal. Chill. Don't go out there and give me
James Deebo Harrison
15 in the touchdown. Give me 15 plays in the touchdown, man. I'll put you on up out of there.
Fred Armisen
Give me a.
Joe (likely Joe Haden)
Give me a. Give me a drive. Give me three first downs. In the tutty and you're out. Look smooth, make it look like clockwork. You. You control how long you're in.
Carrie Brownstein
Yes.
James Deebo Harrison
Yeah, I know. I know what I want to go for. I know what I want to go
Joe (likely Joe Haden)
for, but y' all know for sure, so look, hey, Richard, go out there
James Deebo Harrison
and you give me. You give me the high 15. It look like they can't stop you. I might have to pull you out. When the defense. Second preseason game, I'm definitely gonna have to give you at least.
Joe (likely Joe Haden)
Man, at least third. They like. Look, they tell us you ain't gonna see the third. Y' all got a couple drives. You go out there and get two, three and outs. They like, God, Okay. Y' all did okay. Y' all feeling good? Y' all looking good.
James Deebo Harrison
Now you go out there talking about, hey, you got a couple Drives. You done let them hit for 15. Oh, they come back out for another 10 plays. Right back out.
Joe (likely Joe Haden)
What are we doing? Every first down, they get reset. Come on, guys. Come on. First and ten, let's get them behind the sticks. They just marching it down. Second and second and six. All right. Okay. Third and two. Come on, let's get a stop. Dang. Run for three.
James Deebo Harrison
And that's the ones that hurt. The. Oh, methodical drives like. Okay, you. You pop me for 15 to 20. Okay, go ahead, sit down. No, you going walk it down on you. Walk it down.
Joe (likely Joe Haden)
In the preseason, in the. You got your starters out there, y'. All. We're hype. Oh, yes, man.
James Deebo Harrison
You already know, man. All you gotta do is get two, three and outs. You up outta there.
Joe (likely Joe Haden)
Two, three and outs look good. Everybody hype. You get a tackle for loss on the first run. Deep, bum, boom. Everybody's geek. Second and 12, you're off the field. In your mind. I'm like, they ain't being deep. A little dumb off check first.
James Deebo Harrison
Listen, second to 10, to anything, nine.
Joe (likely Joe Haden)
We're getting off the sticks.
James Deebo Harrison
My mind. We getting. Yeah, we getting off.
Joe (likely Joe Haden)
Come on, man.
James Deebo Harrison
We getting all.
Sam J
It ain't.
James Deebo Harrison
It ain't nothing that.
Joe (likely Joe Haden)
That.
James Deebo Harrison
That can be done. That. That's cool unless somebody mess up. But that. That ain't gonna happen. No, that ain't gonna happen. I guess they had a little scuffle out there.
Joe (likely Joe Haden)
Oh, no.
James Deebo Harrison
That friar move he had. He had to save a kid. The fans was out there scuffling. Joe.
Joe (likely Joe Haden)
Grown men, see, they got to do better, man.
James Deebo Harrison
Grown men. We got the clip. Might not have no sound. Was a little too much cursing. Look at it.
Joe (likely Joe Haden)
Oh, fire move.
James Deebo Harrison
Had to slow that back. Slow that back. Slow that back.
Joe (likely Joe Haden)
Had to come get the kid.
James Deebo Harrison
He had to come get the kid, man. He had to come get the kid, man.
Joe (likely Joe Haden)
These.
James Deebo Harrison
They got him pressed up against the fence, man. Joe,
Joe (likely Joe Haden)
Debo.
Sam J
You.
Joe (likely Joe Haden)
I don't know the exact. What's going on in this situation, but I.
James Deebo Harrison
These autographs, bro. You know this.
Joe (likely Joe Haden)
No, no, no, no, no, no, no. I'm saying who was pushing who and why. Why. But the autograph stuff, you know how some people be. They're trying to get some people put. They. I understand some people put their kids in the front a lot of the. To try to get them to sign up. Cause there's a lot of people that's selling these autographs. If it's an old man, though, at the same time, that's a fan that's just standing There the whole time. I don't know. Some people are janky and just using their kid to steal autographs. If it's a kid that there, I don't care if it's an old man,
James Deebo Harrison
you can't smash the kid. In your disagreement with another grown man
Joe (likely Joe Haden)
about an autograph, you can't smash a kid. You can't smack. You got to know where your surroundings and how.
James Deebo Harrison
Ain't nobody get kicked out.
Joe (likely Joe Haden)
The security at the joints has kind of seen fluke. Where's the security?
James Deebo Harrison
You know, and it ain't a real. It ain't no real security around.
Joe (likely Joe Haden)
Like little kids. The volunteers.
James Deebo Harrison
Yeah, One of the little kids, you know, came over there. They be done, put their hand on them or something like that, you know. You don't expect nothing like that. Two grown men out here scuffling over autograph. I think that's the first time I'd have never seen a cup. A scuffle, man.
Joe (likely Joe Haden)
Yeah, that's the first time I've seen the legitimate scuffle.
James Deebo Harrison
It's usually on the field, you know, we acting stupid. It's hot. We ain't. You know, we ain't got to go home in two days, you know, you. You got all that built up testosterone and everything. You ain't had no. You ain't released nothing. You know what I'm saying, Joe?
Sam J
That's.
Joe (likely Joe Haden)
Yeah, he gotta chill. They gotta chill. They real, real, real aggressive over there with the kids all in the way. You wanna grown man?
James Deebo Harrison
Listen, man, we got. We got to be a little bit of security, I guess when we get up there. Monday and Tuesday, brother. Next Monday and Tuesday. Oh, yeah, I forgot about that. Yes, we will be at camp, y'.
Sam J
All.
James Deebo Harrison
We will be at camp.
Joe (likely Joe Haden)
That's.
James Deebo Harrison
Film is from Kent. We don't know what time yet, but. Depends on the Steeler schedule. But when we figure it out, we will let y' all know and we go, go.
Joe (likely Joe Haden)
Whoa.
James Deebo Harrison
He getting rough with it, too, Joe?
Joe (likely Joe Haden)
Yeah, bro, that's.
James Deebo Harrison
I don't understand that.
Joe (likely Joe Haden)
He gotta chill. The kids right there, man.
James Deebo Harrison
That's something. That's something you would do, huh?
Joe (likely Joe Haden)
No way. Are you kidding me? Not even close, Debo. I'm making sure I'm. It's for if. If I see any children there, they gonna get the order.
James Deebo Harrison
That's what the Browns. That's something you used to seeing at the Browns camp.
Joe (likely Joe Haden)
No, when I. When I was coming up to the Browns camp, I would be. I had all the kids making sure I got their autographs. I would Be the last one out there. I'll be out there for hours after practice. Debo.
James Deebo Harrison
I ain't gonna lie to you, Joe.
Joe (likely Joe Haden)
I was signed.
James Deebo Harrison
I used to sign, sign, sign, sign, Joe. And then I realized that no matter how much you sign, you ain't signed them all. Everybody.
Joe (likely Joe Haden)
You can't do it.
James Deebo Harrison
So I was like, you know what? I just picked two days. I'm like, all right, I'm gonna get 30 minutes or I'm gonna go and I'm just gonna make sure I walk up the hill here and then I'm gonna hit this side and next day I'll hit the other side or whatever that may be. And then when I didn't want to sign, I'm like, yo, I'm jumping on this cart. I'm going around the backside.
Joe (likely Joe Haden)
Dang. Sometimes you got to get. You know what I'm saying?
James Deebo Harrison
Sometimes, bro, you just don't feel it, bro. You tired. You got to get up there, you know, like, I got to get in this cold tub, man. I gotta take care of my body. I gotta get to eat.
Joe (likely Joe Haden)
Don't let you know what else. Don't let you get bombed up. I gotta go watch this film and
James Deebo Harrison
I gotta watch this film. You go out there and you go ahead. You don't. You don't. Caught two pics, Joe. You signing everything up. You ain't worried about it.
Joe (likely Joe Haden)
We about to go watch this, T. I'm about to slow it down and
James Deebo Harrison
walk through there and go seven on seven.
Joe (likely Joe Haden)
Seven on seven. Play 16. Yep, just wait on that one, guys. I got a good one for you.

Joe (likely Joe Haden)
Yeah.
James Deebo Harrison
And your son gonna be looking at you when you come home, talking about I put my hands on you like that boy did or that man did over there.
Joe (likely Joe Haden)
Yep. You think about that? My son getting smashed on the wall. Oh, my goodness.
James Deebo Harrison
Joe. Joe. I don't even want to think about that, man.
Joe (likely Joe Haden)
I don't even want to think about that. Huh? Debo?
James Deebo Harrison
I ain't gonna lie. Cause I would. I would have felt a little like I would have grabbed the kid. No question about it. But I'd have had to. I'd had to get some words in there, you know what I'm saying? You'd had to get some follow up words or something at least. Like tell them to come here, you know what I'm saying? Like look in their eyes, let them
Joe (likely Joe Haden)
know that you serious. You know, be out here fighting for. No autographs, sir. You look nuts.
James Deebo Harrison
Oh, man, that sound like something Cleveland do. Anyway, man.
Joe (likely Joe Haden)
Anyway, it was in Pittsburgh. It was at Pittsburgh. That was crazy.
James Deebo Harrison
They was. They was. They was probably old Cleveland fans that just Converted this year. And they ain't got that. They ain't got that Browns, man, right there, he was.
Joe (likely Joe Haden)
It was stillered up boxing in the damn crowd, bumping.
James Deebo Harrison
Listen, man. Listen, man. Pat Farro, shout out, baby, do it again. Always. Next time, go ahead and jump out there and put your hand on one of them. Just touching. No, don't, don't. You gotta listen. Just touch him.
Joe (likely Joe Haden)
He would have tried to sue Pat.
James Deebo Harrison
No, no, you just touched him. Say, hey, don't do that.
Joe (likely Joe Haden)
Pat did exactly what he needed to do. There you go, Debo. Trying to get him playing.
Sam J
No, I see.
Joe (likely Joe Haden)
All you gotta do. Pat would just touch him. Don't touch. Just stays at the way you at.
James Deebo Harrison
Just. Just touch him. Just touch him. Hey, talk nice to him and smile in his face when you say it, but let your eyes. Smile on his face, but let your eyes say, I want to kill your punk ass. See, you know what I'm saying? Like that. Oh, you.
Joe (likely Joe Haden)
You talking about like the joker.
James Deebo Harrison
Like this. Yeah.
Joe (likely Joe Haden)
Okay.
James Deebo Harrison
Like that.
Ari Chambers
That's it, right?
James Deebo Harrison
Okay.
Joe (likely Joe Haden)
I got you. I ain't tripping, Joe.
Nick Turturro
I ain't tripping.
James Deebo Harrison
Look here, Shadora. Your boy should do a stand.
Shador (likely Shador Timmons)
Yeah.
Chelsea Handler
Yep.
James Deebo Harrison
He's making major daily sacrifices to improve. Emphasizing strict sleep. That's something I need to do, too, man. My sleep is garbage. I ain't gonna lie to you. Strict sleep and communication schedules as he prepares for the season and aims to help the Browns. Joe, we have the sound.
Joe (likely Joe Haden)
Let's do it.
James Deebo Harrison
Let's run it. But, man, your attitude on the field, how. How you talk about. You're in grind mode.
Shador (likely Shador Timmons)
Yeah.
James Deebo Harrison
And it's training camp mode. And grind mode and focus mode.
Shador (likely Shador Timmons)
See, it was so hard. We just. We just got done doing the interviews over there, and like, like, what matters to me at this point in life is ball and getting better every day. So it, It. That stuff doesn't help us win as a team. So it's like I don't really care about it, you know? So I, I, I, I angle my life and change my life to. If this isn't helping us win, then why would. I'm not. I can't put my best foot forward with that.
James Deebo Harrison
What do you think your first impressions of the actual practice, first couple days out here?
Shador (likely Shador Timmons)
I think it was amazing. I think a lot of players was flying around. I was excited to be able for the vets and everybody to get back. You know, we had rookie camp, and during camp, I'll say, for me, I was just figuring out my schedule, figuring out my Time figuring out what I need for me personally, like, within the schedule to help me get to a place of autopilot.
James Deebo Harrison
And what do you think that needs to be for you to kind of up your game, get to autopilot?
Shador (likely Shador Timmons)
Well, I'll say I time slot every one of my hours. I don't waste. I don't waste minutes in my day. Every day, you know, is important. And every day, you know, you either add into your goal or getting farther away from it. So all I do, strict sleep schedule, strict communication schedule. Like, it's a lot of sacrifices I would say I made because of. Of. Of what I want to be able to bring to this team and what I want to do for this community and this whole program.
James Deebo Harrison
Joe, I. I love. Please saying. I'm gonna say love because I'm a person that loves people who take care of their body. I love the process of take care of your body and the upkeep. That's something that he's understanding right now. Joe, as a young man, your old ass still don't understand it. That's why you got that janky hip. But listen, stop, stop, stop. Now, the reason I don't like it is because he played for the.
Joe (likely Joe Haden)
He. He played.
James Deebo Harrison
He played for the Browns, and that may possibly make them better. Okay, so that's where. That's where. That's where my hating. My hating come in effect.
Shador (likely Shador Timmons)
But.
James Deebo Harrison
Yes, but. But I will say, like, that is especially for him to start doing that already. Year two, he already had. I ain't gonna even lie to you. It took me almost three years before I realized that, you know what? I can't do the things that I'm doing right now, trying to burn the candle at both ends, you know, partying all night and then getting up early and kicking it. Nah, that process got to slow down. You gotta. You gotta do what you can. You gotta do what you need to do to make sure you can take your body for as long as possible so you can play this game as long as possible, so you can stay as healthy as long as possible. I think a big thing that happens with a lot of guys is they don't see the end of the rainbow or the end of the tunnel coming until they're already sitting outside of it and now kind of back into the back door to see, oh, what can I do to get better? What can I do to get healthier? What can I do to make myself feel better? No, you should have did that in the process. And that's why the. The career time Frame is three and a half. It's very few guys that get the, the amount of time that you and I got. So I, I love what he's saying. I love that. I love the mindset and, and the process that he's actually understood. I'm pretty sure he got that from his daddy probably, you know. Hey, hey, listen, get right. He got this already in year two. And the big thing, man, sleep like, I still didn't sleep much of anything, but I just was able to get away with. With four to six hours. Usually we're in between four and five. But where you at with this Joseph Debo?
Joe (likely Joe Haden)
This man Shador, like you said, the only reason why you had a negative for this is because it will be a positive for the Cleveland Browns. That's literally your only negative for what Shador said. Because you don't love too much of nothing. You don't love too much of nothing. I love body work, baby. You love taking care of your body? Yes, sir. You love what you're doing? Just.
James Deebo Harrison
Lord, no.
Joe (likely Joe Haden)
Because my thing is this, Debo. And you know this as well as I do. You just basically said it. The quicker you understand that you're not going to play in the NFL forever. This is going to be max for quarterbacks, like 20 years when you're a quarterback, but like skill position. You get 10, you get. You getting 15, like 12. For me, that's a long time in the NFL. So when you first get in, you don't realize that the end is as neat is sooner than you think it.
Yamanika Saunders
Yes.
Joe (likely Joe Haden)
Be in the NFL forever. So it took me about six years until I really got my PT person. So you're gonna have to live and learn. Learning an off season routine. This was only his first off season. So how you gonna have a routine when this is only your first one? You have to learn the routine. You got to get your schedule. You haven't been able to have this much time off to figure out where I'm going to live, who am I going to train with, how is this going to actually work? Because this is your first legitimate off season. So trying to get your schedule, trying to figure out all this stuff is a lot. So with Shador saying this, I'm just like, I love it too, because the quicker that you understand that I have to change my lifestyle, I can't be staying up all the times because it's going to be 20 years that I can just have a good schedule, take care of my body like this. The season is the whole year. There's no real off season. Your off season is part of your season. So you're never not staying ready. You're never not getting right, you're never not trying to learn, you're never not studying tape. So there's things that you really have to change, lifestyle changes that the sooner that you do because you realize that after 20 years, I can do whatever I want to do. I'm going to be retired, I'm going to live my career. And I maxed it out because I gave myself every opportunity to be the best player that I could possibly be and not try to do too much, like, have you. You're going to live still. But not like the main thing is the main thing. I want to be the best quarterback in the NFL. The main thing is the main thing. You're quarterback of a professional football team. So for receivers, for cornerbacks, DBs, tight ends, it's a little different because, like, it would be better if you could get your body right instantly. Like, just don't do the other stuff. Me, myself, personally, it took me too long, but I was good at corner. I was like, athletic. And I didn't have to start doing this stuff because I was drafted too high. I was waking up. I was drafted at 7 and just, you know, but the same time, if I would have still been like, jody, lock in, take care of your body a little more, I could have solidly still had my hip. My hips wouldn't be as low, Jack, but I did it and I made it. But Shador saying this makes me feel good because from year six, I was going doing everything I had to do. Never, not a minute wasted. Because I'm like, this is what I have. I got seven more, eight more years to do this. But when you do it from the beginning, the earlier, after year one, after year two, year three, now you're locked in to like, man, I'm going to have to change this lifestyle and be a quarterback. And with quarterbacks, you gotta be the most smartest. And you literally, because these dudes, $65 million a year is what they're paying these franchise quarterbacks that lock in, son, you know what I'm saying? Because once you show that you're actually a quarterback, you're very mature, you handle your business the way that it goes. You seen Daniel Jones got the $44 million a year. You see my man Jordan love, Drake made 55,056. So you just like, okay, all I gotta do is be very, very competent.
James Deebo Harrison
He paid.
Joe (likely Joe Haden)
May already go out here. No, no, no, not May Not May. I meant it was Jordan Love, the ones that Baker Mayfield was comparing his contracts to. It was. It was.
James Deebo Harrison
Oh, I know.
Joe (likely Joe Haden)
You're saying it was them dudes. So just in the mindset of if Shador, you're at a quarterback and you understand this, the earlier, the better. I'm all for it.
James Deebo Harrison
Yeah, definitely. That was something that. I ain't gonna lie, like, through the course of my career, because I was just doing it so much. When I retired, bro, I was. I was like, lost. They're like, james, why are you working out like this? I'm like, that's what I do. Like, I don't. I don't know what else to do. Yeah, get up. I go work out, you know, and then, you know, I'm retired. Like, like, that was my life for, you know, 16 years, you know, so. And that was just, you know, my process. And when you go to taking care of your body, you probably didn't have no OGs that was like, yo, you got to do this and do that to take care of your body. See, I came into the situation, and it was like I had James Ferrier. James Ferrier actually introduced me to the acupuncturist that I still use today. And then, you know, from there, it was. It was Charlie Batch. He introduced me to a lady that I used to use that he had in Detroit. She used to come down and through that process of me just using, you know, different body workers here and there. It was a group of, you know, whatever it may be, people that I kept in a. In a solid rotation and, you know, year in, year out, I may add somebody else different. Depending on what it was that, you know, they did or how it affected it, you know, how it made me be able to perform. So when it came down to, you know, it was. It was years where I'm, you know, spending 300 to 500k a year and, you know, body work and then taking care of my body and bringing people in and out, and, you know, I've probably used, I don't know, hundreds of people through. Through the course of time. And when it came down to it, most of them aren't good.
Joe (likely Joe Haden)
Good.
James Deebo Harrison
I ain't gonna lie. Most of them are good. Some of them are good, you know, decent. Some of them are very good. Very, very, very few are great. And through that process of just adding and realizing and seeing different people, then I had a rotation, like, five people. I had my chiropractor that would come through. I had my. My doc that would come through I'm a trainer that would come through acupuncturist. I had a person, a dry needle, had a person that was cupping, and I also had another physio, cryoperson. So it was like, like a Jimmy Bluff type of person. But, yeah, he was also a chiropractor. And through that whole process, like, it was like, I got to the point to where I didn't even need to use a chiropractor, bro. Like, I just like, yo, my chiropractor is great. He's this and that. Okay. Is he all right watching work? All I gotta do is watch him work on three people. If he worked the same way on three people, I know he ain't what you say he is because there's no way three people got the same issues on their alignments like, he got.
Joe (likely Joe Haden)
He got one technique, he got a
James Deebo Harrison
checklist he's going through, and that's it. And he's not. You know, I. I've been using my guy since 2012, 13, and he still has different ways that he's adjusted me up to this year that he hadn't used before because of an issue that I may have or not have, depending on how it works, to get it to be able to move. And it won't move. You know, you get the guy that's like, oh, there you go. No, I ain't nothing move, bro.
Joe (likely Joe Haden)
Yeah.
James Deebo Harrison
You know, you can't sit there and force something to make it move. So what he does, he just tries different ways of making it move because he has the knowledge and understanding of how to make it move. And then what relates to that thing that he needs to make move that may be in a totally different part of the body that's locked up that's not allowing it to move. So that is great for Shador, man.
