Remember, Nightcap doesn't happen without you, so please subscribe or you're gonna make Ocho cry. We gotta get into the shocking turn of events involving Max Crosby Ocho Raiders broke the news that the trade had sending Max Crosby to the Baltimore Ravens for two first round draft picks had been rescinded. Raiders alleged in a statement that the Ravens had backed out of the agreement reached four days earlier. It was then reported that medical concerns arose during Cosby's physical and were a catalyst for the dissolution of the deal. Ravens GM Eric DeCosta said today, Nobody is more upset than him gutted by it actually. Big regret for me, but we will move forward as a football team. DaCosta added that losing Senator Tyler Lindenbaum to the Raiders, the Ravens began envisioning a possibility of pairing Crosby with Henderson, excuse me, with Hendrix, whom the team signed today. But Crosby's medical outlook prevented the possibility from materializing. Jane Slater reported that the Ravens considered renegotiating the Crosby trade to account for the team's discomfort with the edge rushes prognosis. Ultimately, however, the team opted to withdraw from the deal entirely. Ocho, we don't normally see this now. The Ravens have been in a situation where, if I remember correctly, the Brock Marion, they really liked him, but they had a Yoda issue. Michael Brockers had a knee issue and they rescinded. They rescinded the the deal that was on the table. But you're talking about a Max Crosby. He did have a meniscus injury. Reports are that he had been dealing with this all year. This happened and started bothering me in the off season. He played through it. He ended up having surgery and the type of surgery that he has, that's somewhere between a three and a six month month recovery time. And I don't know if it's a lateral meniscus or medial meniscus, but that is a long because he had it torn and I guess he had it repaired. If what the reports are true. That is a lot. That's a big timetable. But that puts him on to be recovered probably around June. Ocho training camp starts about six weeks later in late July. So who knows? Like I said, could be early June, could be late June, but still he would have three weeks and I'm almost sure he'd be a limited participant and you kind of build him up to get him ready to go come September. When you heard that the trade for Max Crosby had been rescinded, what did you think? And you like, okay, what's going on?
Ocho
I've never seen anything like that. I've never seen anything like that. Especially a player like Matt Crosby. That's impact player that makes your, your team exponentially better right away. Just his presence alone and the fact that it rescinded. I didn't know what was going on. The first thing that. That dawned on me, well, maybe he failed his physical. Obviously that that's the only thing I could think of because I know a player, a player himself wouldn't say, you know what, I don't want to be here. And he lets the team knows. He doesn't. He. He rather wishes not to. Not to be here. But once that did happen, I thought about it. Well, understanding that they knew he had a knee issue. He. They knew about knee surgery. Knew about the knee surgery. I mean, I'm confused. What did you expect the physical to look like? Obviously he's in rehab. Obviously he's recovering. He would probably be ready in time for football season to play. And the fact that he played on it and had 10 plus sacks or maybe 10 sacks this season and he was forced to sit out the last, the last two games of the season, I think he would be okay. He would recover. So I'm confused on why they chose to do this, why they chose, you know, to rescind. To rescind him. Him being there. It makes no sense to me. And I like the fact that they were going to try to pair Hendrickson and Crosby together. Hell, that they would have been hell on wheels if they were able to pull that off.
Joe
Yeah, I think if you really look at it, Henderson might be a better pure pass rusher, but overall, I think because Crosby plays the run so much better than Hendrickson, I, I think he gives them a dynamic and you know, you got to have somebody that can set the edge and Max Crosby can set the edge, but he could also become very disruptive. Pressure your quarterback and get to your quarterback. Hendrickson, we've seen over the last couple of years in which he wasn't injured. You see the numbers that he's put up. He is a pure pass rusher. Drafted by the New Orleans Saints and ended up going to became a free agency and goes to Cincinnati and played extremely well. Reports are that he probably took a little less money to go to Baltimore, but I think there were some hard feelings. He was like, you had years to get this done. Now all of a sudden you want me because I could potentially be going to a division rival. Ocho, look, I agree with you at Everything that you said, they knew he had surgery. And maybe you looking at it because you looking at it long term because you got Max cross, but I think you owe him one hundred and something million dollars on that contract. Now, if I'm not mistaken, I could be wrong in chat. Forgive me if I'm misspeaking. I think this is the only year in which he's had, he has guaranteed money on the contract. So now I'm looking at no Joe, and he's only 29. Okay, yes, he had, he had surgery on the knee, but what doctors can see is that what you, to the naked, untrained eye, can't see is degeneration. Now, it looks good this year, but what happens next year? And as we move on. Now you're talking about somebody that dealing with degeneration in the knee. Did you. So I got a very arthritic right knee, same thing with the left knee. And I got basically bone on bone on the lateral side, which is the outside. And I'm damn near bone on bone on the inside, which is the medial meniscus. And what has happened, as I've gotten older, stuff start to happen. This is what. And you see it with a lot of old people that didn't play sports get older and cartilage starts to dissipate and you get that bone on bone. I'm fortunate enough to be in a situation where I can afford, you know, great medical care and I don't have all this hang ups. I can go, okay, what's going on now? Insurance company wouldn't take care of whatever I had going on, so I had to pay for my own mri, no problem. And then I go to one doctor, he says, okay, you can do X, Y and Z. I go, come to the doctor out here. I'm at curling job and go to the doctor that did my hips. And he looks at him like, well, she had to. Let me explain it to you. It's an X, Y and Z, so forth, the song. But you know, you got degeneration, degenerative needs, and, and eventually, hey, I'm not telling you anything that you didn't already know. You're going to have to have knee replacement. If not one, probably both of your knees. But the right knee that I'm looking at now, you don't have to. So I think that's what the Ravens doctors are looking at. That. Okay, yeah, this healing up properly. But we see some degeneration in this knee and that's never good because, you know, to be on the hook for A knee that could be just me speculating. I haven't talked to anybody, but I'm sitting as a doctor you probably look at as Ravens. Like, hold on now. In order for this to make sense to us. Oo because you got to realize what we giving up. We giving up the number 14 pick this year and who knows what that pick. You hope that if we, if the trade would have gone through, we somewhere 32, ideally be 32. If we give up the 32 pick next year. You know what that mean? Oo we won the Super Bowl. Most definitely 31. That means we were in the Super Bowl.
Ocho
Honestly.
Joe
29, 30. 29, 30. Ocho winning the championship.
Ocho
I'm thinking about. You think about a player that's 29 years old. 29 years old.
Joe
Yeah.
Ocho
A player like Matt Crosby, that's a disruptor. He's been in the NFL for a few years and if you give, if you take an MRI, if you do an MI of all the players that have eight, nine or 10, 10 years or more, I'm sure there's something alarming on everybody's mri. If you look at it, it always is. Nobody is 100% healthy. Everyone has issues, whatever it may be. I just know the macro that we saw that was on the, with the Las Vegas Raiders was an impact player and he made a difference every time he was out there. Even doing a losing effort, he was still a disruptor. He still was able to set the edge. He was still able to disrupt, disrupt the pass depending on who they were playing. It really didn't matter. No one can stop him. You could only hope to contain a player like Max. So to let him go because of what you see, you know, in an mri, when he was already hurt last year and he's recovering, he has rehab and you doctors have the resources to get him as healthy as possible. And you know what you get with a almost healthy or even 90 or 95 Max Crosby and you let him go and, and understanding what he can do for your team and making your team exponentially better, you know, especially if you pair him with Henderson. I'm like, I, I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't see. Listen, it's a business decision on their part. I just understand, as great as he is, even with a, a messed up knee, where he's going to recover, where he's going to rehab, there's no way I, I sit him back and it, but obviously I. Listen, I don't own, I don't own the goddamn Ravens. It ain't my decision.
Joe
And you ain't got 100 plus billion dollars. But, but here's the thing, Ocho. What if I told you you can get a very similar player. Hold up. And this is what they do, Ocho. What if I told you I could get you a similar house for about six to seven million dollars cheaper. The payments will be cheaper. Monthly, pretty much the same house, maybe a 500 square foot difference. But I'm it. But, but it's going to be probably over the course of it, I probably say you're about $28 million, but I'm gonna get you a very similar house right there. A two acre lot, nice size infinity pool, probably about 12, 000 square feet, seven baths, full baths, you know, two half baths, you know, eight bedrooms, gorgeous. A theater. If I told you I can get you a similar house to the one that you really love, but I'm gonna save you $28 million, would you be interested? And, and, and you're not gonna have to give up those two first round picks. Would you? Could I?
Ocho
You could, you could, you could. But I'm, I'm. I'm in the now right now. I'm in the now. I'm not, I'm not worried about down, down the road. I'm trying to. If I'm playing poker, I'm putting all my cars on the table. I'm putting all the cars on the table and I'm trusting my, I'm trusting my doctors to an extent. Because I want Max here.
Joe
You got to.
Ocho
I want Max Crosby here. We got. Goddamn. We got Trey Henderson in the building. We're negotiating his contract. We have Max in the building. I'm taking all my cards and I'm putting on the table, I'm out. I'm out.
Joe
But here's the thing.
Ocho
I'm taking a gamble. I'm taking a gamble.
Joe
I, I'm not taking a gamble with two first round picks. If I can get them at a lower rate, I would, I can. You talk about. I'm not taking.
Ocho
You talk about two first round picks, you don't know what you're getting. There's no, there's no telling those two first round picks that come in to make any goddamn difference.
Joe
But what if his knee doesn't hold up this year? What if that knee is bad and then I'm stuck? What if that knee is like Dante Culpepper's knee? Then what do I do?
Ocho
How did he look before they forced him?
Joe
How did Dante Cole.
Ocho
We're not talking about Dante Copeland. We talk about Max Crosby, the one that played all season.
Joe
You gotta base it on the medicals,
Ocho
Ocho, he was hurt all season long. He gave you 10 sacks. What are we talking about?
Joe
No, he didn't. He gave.
Ocho
They made him sit out the last two games.
Joe
If you go back and look at it, look at the numbers. Trey Henderson vs Max Crosby, 2019 to where they are now. Who has more sacks? Who has a high pressure rate?
Ocho
I don't have nothing in front of me.
Joe
And I can get Trey Hendrickson. I can get Trey Hendrickson for about five to seven million dollars a year cheaper. And I don't have to give up ish. So I can get oo. I can get you in this house, and you don't have to put a down payment.
Ocho
I understand what you're saying, but. I understand what you're saying, but I'm looking at it. I'm looking at it from a different standpoint. As a team, as an organization, as a team at an organization that continues to miss in the first round, as a team, in the organization that was horrible on defense last year, especially at the beginning of the season, how our. How bad our backing is or was, you know, constantly getting beat. How can I make a difference? I'm. I'm gambling. This is. This is what. This is what it's all about.
Joe
Trey Henderson. You make it seem like Trey Henderson is a bum. The man had 35 sacks.
Ocho
I'm not calling him a bum. You know I wouldn't do that. I'm just saying he had two.
Joe
But I'm saying you. I'm not saying you are, but I'm saying you making it seem like Max Crosby is just exponentially. Hold on. This is not a Miles Garrett situation. If you're talking about Miles Garrett. Okay, we have a conversation because that's a two time defensive player of the year and a guy that has like 121 sacks in, like eight.
Ocho
But you mean to tell. You mean to tell me I get. I get the best of both worlds? I get the best of both worlds. Now, on. On one hand, I have a player who's injured, who just had surgery, but I understand what I get based off the small sample size of how I've seen him in Las Vegas and what he's done on an injured knee. I'm trusting the prop. Trust in the process. I'm trusting the doctors. I'm trusting rehab, you.
Joe
Chance to trust who? Doctor? So why do you have the. Why do you have those Doctors on payroll, if you're not going to trust them to properly evaluate players that are coming in that you're going to have to spend a hundred plus million dollars and give up. First round pick this year, which is number 14 and next year's fourth rounder, first rounder, I can understand. If it's 32, no problem. That means we won the Super Bowl. But, but, and I get it, Drew Brees had a very simple situation. Miami Dolphins flunked his shoulder on the physical. He goes to New Orleans and we see what happened.
Ocho
Now the same thing could happen and same thing it could, same thing could happen. You know what? And for them causing this mess, this is what I'm hoping. This is what I'm hoping. I'm not a crystal ball of the time since we've been on the show, you know, sometimes I've been right. I've been right 98, 98% of the time when I talk about players going certain places and it's come to fruition. You know what would be a funny thing that the bang could do, you know would be a funny thing that the bank could do?
Joe
The bank take go get Max, they
Ocho
can go get Max cry. They could take that chance. They can trust in our doctors, they can trust in the rehab process and hoping he's back and knowing even with a, a non healthy Matt Crosby. We saw what he did last year, we saw what he did last year where the Raiders forced him to sit those last two games out. I would love for it to happen. I would, I would love for it to happen.
Joe
But the thing is, now you're saying I can get Max Crosby, I don't have a problem. I have a problem. If the knee is as bad as the Ravens doctor think it is. We don't know. I'm an untrained eye, you're an untrained eye. But if it's as bad as the doctors and the Ravens believe it is, two first round picks is off the table. Now he goes somewhere else and I have to give up a third round pick or a second and a fifth round pick. Now that's a deal. But two first round picks and got to pay him $33 million a year.
Ocho
Come on, Ojo, I hear you, I hear you. But, but, but, but I, I'm, I'm willing, I'm willing to take the chance. I'm willing just like owners do all the time, they take chances.
Joe
You're not going to be no gift.
Ocho
But you have to think about though. Hey, Chat, stay with me real quick. You have to think opportunities like this to get a player that can change the direction of your franchise, especially defensively, don't come around that often. Don't come around that often. Even with the limping Crosby, he makes a difference. We have to understand who we talking about now. We not just talking about just a guy. We ain't talking about a Jag.
Joe
No, no, no, no. Don't help. He's the top five.
Ocho
Exactly. So that's, that's why the top five. Be a little hesitant. Okay. We got a little hiccup. Okay. We understand he had surgery, you know, and I, I, I, I don't know. I don't know. I'm, I'm not sure how I understand how you feel on it. I'm curious. I, I don't have my chat up. I'm curious to see what the chat thinks about it, but I, I would take that chance.
Joe
They, I think they go, I think they're back and forth. OO now it could, it could be a total situation like this buys remorse. Like, damn, we gave up two first round picks. Number 14 pick this year. We don't know what 27 is going to be. We're going to have to pay him somewhere. 32, 33, $34 million a year and the knee situation. Or we can go get Trey Hendrickson, play him, pay him 5 to 7 million dollars cheaper per year and not give up anything

OO I can get you in this house. No down payment? Yeah, and I'm gonna save you $28 million. So hey, and the thing is, you know, a house, I'm saving you $28 million and you don't have to put no money down.
Ocho
I I. Hey, you play poker? I'm not. I'm not a gambler, you know. You know, I'm. I'm cheap. I'm financially celibate. Huh? I'm financially celibate. But in this situation, there's certain situations at the gm, as an owner, understanding how bad I was, understanding where my weaknesses are, especially defensively. And it all started. We talked about it all season goddamn long. Not only was the back end bad, Hell, they couldn't get. They couldn't get no goddamn pressure on nobody. This is one where I'm folding. If I got a hand, I'm folding based on who the player is. Regardless of what? That. That.
Joe
No, do you mean the pill? But you're gonna play the hand. Fold means you throw your cards. Oh, yeah.
Ocho
I'm throwing my cars in on Crosby. He. He coming. Come on. Oh, come on.
Joe
No, if you can't throw your cards in, you throw your cards in.
Ocho
Oh.
Joe
Oh. So in other words, you said, you shoving, you going.
Ocho
Yeah, I'm going all in surgery. Whatever. Forget. Listen, okay? If the Costa. Is that his name? Dacosta? I would listen to what the doctors say, okay? What? This is what you see, okay? You know what? I'm taking a chance on him anyway. I'm taking a chance on the way.
Joe
I'm not. I'm not, so. Because anytime, you know, you start getting $100 million, you know, you got to go to the owner with that. So he's gonna ask. He's gonna come in there, he's gonna want to sit down with Dr. Curl. I know Leanne Curl. She was. She was the team doctor. She was there when I was there. He's bringing her in. What do you think, doc? Look, I understand the player that he is, but it's risky.
Ocho
I. I like. I like. Hey, I'm taking that risk. We ain't talking about just anybody. We talk about a top five player at his position. That can change, though. Can you imagine? Henderson on one side, Crosby on the other?
Joe
Like, before you go any further, Diana Rossini reported. As part of the proposed trades for Max Crosby, the Ravens were also prepared to sign him to a revised contract that would have paid him near the top of past Russia's market. Max agent C.J. leBoy responded with two words, fake news. So everybody keeps saying that the. The goal, the objective was to sign Crosby and Henderson. Max Crosby's agent said basically that's not true. Crosby still could get traded, but he ain't. They not getting no first round on it. They're not getting no First, I don't believe they'll get a first round on it. Now, Ocho, now, because here's the thing with the Raiders. The Raiders spent quarter of a billion dollars bringing in, excuse me, new players because they thought they would have Crosby number off the books.
Ocho
Yeah.
Joe
Now the question is, do you rehab him, keep him or do you try, do you try to move him on you? I don't. I me personally, you're definitely not getting two first. I don't believe you can get a first, but maybe a second and a fifth.
Ocho
Second. Second and third. Second and third. Second and Third.
Joe
Hey.
Ocho
Hey, Mr. Brown. Mike Brown. I know we got a lot. I know we got a lot of Bangle fans in the chat. Hey, he coming to Cincinnati, huh? He could he coming to Cincinnati. Why not? Why not make it make sense. And you know what I like? I like the fact that the Ravens did this. I like the fact that the Ravens played play this game. You know, so basically they telling you how they feel about you. Anyway, so what better, what better message? What better message?
Joe
You go to the right, go to a division rival and then not only
Ocho
that, now you got a chip on the shoulder. Now you didn't pissed him off, huh? Oh, so that's how y' all feel? Okay, I'm gonna show you. I'm gonna show you. And how can he get him back? He can get him back by his plate on the field. You can get it.
Joe
Yeah.
Ocho
And that's the type of player he is.
Joe
Do you think this hurts Baltimore's reputation around the league to have a deal in place? Because the deal is not consummated until the player now he has to pass that team that's trading for him. Doctors physical, they have to be okay with it. Do you think this hurts the Ravens reputation? Because prior to this, for the most part, the rep. The Ravens reputation has been perfect, pristine.
Ocho
No.
Joe
You think this hurts now?
Ocho
Absolutely not. It's still the Baltimore Ravens. It's still a. It's still. They still are who they are. When it comes to business, when it comes to money, players are going to go where they're wanted. Players are going to go where they're valued. If money talks, they will be there. Now for, for us, the talking heads and those on the outside looking in, maybe it. We might feel this situation might ruin their reputation. But when it comes to business, when it comes to money, and when it comes to, it's time to get paid and the team is willing to pay you, and if it happened to be the Baltimore Ravens and Mr. Dasta and whoever else they going,
Joe
right. I agree with you. Oo. I just think the thing is it became you, you, you look at it like, damn, two first rounders. I don't think anybody else had that kind of number. You hear Dallas had a, a first and a second. You hear some teams have some other picks, but nobody a first. Two first and, but still, even, even, even first when a guy coming off surgery, See, that's what, and I was telling you last year about Kirk Cousins, I said, ocho, you giving up $180 million guaranteed for a guy that's coming off a key leaves a quarterback that he wasn't mobile to begin with. And you draft the court and exacerbate the matter. You take a quarterback with the number 8 overall pick and so that's what that was my concern is that a guy that's come. If max Crosby was 100% healthy, Ocho, he had no surgeries. I, I, I, I, I think two, I think two ones is fine, but coming off the surgery, I'm a little more apprehensive than I would be had he not been coming off that surgery. I know sometimes you gotta roll, you gotta roll the dice. New Orleans was willing to roll the dice, but here's the, the difference is with Drew Brees, Drew Brees didn't cost you any compensation. And basically it was a deal worth $10 million. Yeah, we're talking about a deal worth north of a hundred million in two first round picks.
Ocho
I understand it, I know what you feel. But those for those two first round picks, they ain't coming in making that kind of difference. Like Max, they ain't going to make that kind of noise if you get Matt Crosby out there healthy. I, I just know.
Joe
So if, look, he still could be dealt.
Ocho
Oh, he gonna be, he's gonna be there, you know, right there. He gonna be at Covington Airport. I'm gonna pick him up. Don't worry about it. Yeah, I'm gonna pick him up. Don't worry about it.
Joe
Which would be very, it'd be very interesting. Don't show you, I mean, that could happen. But what if he goes to the Browns with Miles Gay?
Ocho
Oh, hell no. Hey, hey, come on, man. Hey, come on, man. Come on. Hey, hey, don't do that. Don't, hey, don't, don't, don't do that. Don't do that, don't do that. Hey, just the thought of that, that's, that's nasty work. That's nasty work.
Joe
Look, would I be surprised the Patriots get Involved. Would I be surprised if the Eagles get involved? Is there a situation where the Bears can become involved? Anybody that think they're close, if they are past Russia away, I'm like, okay, we know two firsts are off the table. I'm not so sure a first is on the table. How do we get a deal done with how do we get a deal done between you and I with Max for Max Crosby? Ocho, you say you'd be willing to give up a two and a three. Okay, maybe a two and a three this year and a, and a, and a four or a fifth according to how he plays. The fifth goes to a fourth if he gets double digit sacks. X, Y and Z. But don't be surprised if somebody you like. Ah, man, how they let the Eagles get this, man, how they let the Patriots get this, man. I mean, because I saw the Patriots, they let Anthony, Anthony Jennings go. Anthony Jennings go. Good pass Russia. Solid pass Russia not great, but solid. Set the edge, you know, hey, the one thing that Patriots linebackers can do is set the edge. They're big guys. Set the edge great against the run and pressure a little bit. So now you get him and you get Chase on and you get Milton Williams got something or you pair him with, with the Bears, you got something. So it, it. Hey, Det. Because you, you hear somebody was looking at, I think, was it the Patriots or the Eagles was looking at Grinnerd from the Minnesota Vikings. He look, you can never have enough pass rushers. That's one thing you can never have. Just like pass catcher. You can't have enough of them. They're hard to come by. That is an art form. So Max, like He said, he, Dr. Neil Elitroch Curling Joe performed the surgery. He says he's tracking quite well, but at the end of the day, I don't think he's. That's what he's supposed to say. I think, you know, everybody's saying the agent said what he's supposed to say. The doctor that performed the surgery said what he's supposed to say. But at the end of the day, the Ravens and their medical staff have to feel comfortable enough when they go to Steve Bashadi, because Steve Bashad is going to be cutting the check in excess of probably $100 million. 33 million dollars this year is guaranteed. No guaranteed money. On the Dallas Cowboy, head team trainer Daniel Cooper was instrumental in the Ravens backing out of the trade. Cooper, who's a knee specialist, guess what, Ocho, he did the Patrick Mahomes surgery normally he does surgery that's really, really complicated. The Patrick Mahomes surgery. You remember Jalen Smith? He signed up on the. Jalen Smith.
Ocho
Yeah.
Joe
Yep. Malik Neighbors. He reviewed Crosby's recent niche surgery MRI and deemed it too risky. Oh, man. Now you're talking about. You talking about. Because here's the thing. When. You know, when you like the kind of money that these teams have, they're sending you to the best of the best. Whatever. What? The spine got a head guy, the foot got a knee, got a back. Whatever it is, you go into the best, you ain't going to. They. If you got something going on, they can't figure it out. They send your ass to John Hopkins. They sending your ass to the Mayo Clinic. They sending you to MD Anderson, they sending you to the Cleveland Clinic. They sending you to the best of the best. And. And it's like, that's why they command. That's why they get the big bucks. That's why they get the big bucks. And most of the guys, you go into the curling job office and you look up, there are them jerseys on the wall. You see Aaron Donald, you see Clinton, Clay, Clayton Kershaw. You see Verlander, you see Cooper cup, and you see if it's somebody. Russell Westbrook, you see those jerseys on the wall. Thanks, Doc. Gave me my career back, got my life back. You understand why I got you?
Ocho
I just. I. I see them doctors, they. Man, hey, let me. Let me, you know, see, young man, I'm. I'm hot, boy. I'm hot. I'm. I'm hot. I'm hot.
Joe
But now y'. All. Now you guys might be in place.
Ocho
Yeah. I just don't like that. You know how to. Doctors. To me, it. It almost seems like, you know, not other doctors from other teams are speaking out about it and. And speaking about the knee and like, it's decreasing his value and. And what he can get and what his worth is. I. I hate that. I don't like the fact that there's diminishing. You know, this. This young fella who had re. Who had rehab, who had surgery and is trying to do everything he can to get himself back into the plan shape and playing form. And now we got all these doctors, and I just.
Joe
That's what they do, Ocho. I mean, teams, like, if you got a back injury, more times than not, Dr. Watkins is going to do it to do the surgery. If you got foot problems, you're going to. The guy Anderson, I think is in Charlotte. Hey, they got. They pay these Guys, they put these guys on retainer and they pay these guys a lot of money. You mess up, they're gonna fire your ass. They will fire you. There's a reason why.
Ocho
Dr. Andrews, you see what happened with the Dolphins, right? With Drew Brees. Now, this can be the same thing. They say, oh, no. They said, stay away from Drew.
Joe
They.
Ocho
And look what he turned out to be. This could. This could. This could possibly be. I'm just saying. I understand what the doctor is saying.
Joe
It could be.
Ocho
I understand these doctors. Yeah, no, they get paid the big bucks. Everybody heals differently. Now, what you see might not be the way or the outcome in which you think based on what you see as a doctor, it might not affect them ever again. Again.
Joe
Mike. Max Crosby tweeted. Everything happens for a reason. Believe nothing you hear and half of what you see. I'm a Raider. I'm back. Run that ish.
Ocho
Damn
Joe
me personally. Oo. I think there's a greater chance he's on some other roster. Eagles, Bengals, the Patriots, Chicago. I think there's a greater chance he's on run of those roster as. As opposed to State. Now, he could. He could. He could.
Ocho
I'mma tell you what my grandma used to tell me. Long time ago. Tell me why when you speak, you got to understand that the tongue is powerful and you got to speak things into existence.
Joe
Power in the tone, you know, And.
Ocho
And today, you know.
Joe
Oh, you finish. He tried to speak. He tried to speak.
Ocho
Hey, man. But by the powers invested in me, I'm. I'm hoping and praying that. That brother Cosby, I. Hell, he might be watching the show. Come on down here to Cincinnati, man. We. We gonna take good care of you, huh? Hell, you can have my goddamn knees. I don't need them no more.
Joe
Come on, brother Crosby. That's. That's what you.
Ocho
Yeah, yeah.
Joe
Yes, sir.
Ocho
He got. He got a chance.
Joe
What if. What if Cleveland jump in on it?
Ocho
Nah, that ain't gonna happen. They got. They got brother Miles. They got. They got brother Miles.
Joe
Just imagine him and Miles on. What's he on one side.
Ocho
They have too many pieces. They need to pay. On the offensive side of the ball, they don't need to be. Be. They don't need to worry about nothing else.
Joe
Defense, it seemed like they going to the draft because they damn sure haven't done a whole lot.
Ocho
Yeah. As far as quiet, it's quiet over there. It's quiet over there. Now.
Joe
It could be a situation where I'm thinking Philly. Hey, man. Hey, Patriots. What y' all want. What y' all gonna give us, AJ the reports are they're holding sturdy. Sturdy on a first round.
Ocho
I mean, I don't, I don't see
Joe
what doesn't seem to be. No one's biting on that.
Ocho
How you not gonna bite on it? I mean, I'm. We. We know what he is. We know what he can do. We know what he is. We know what he can do. Not too long ago, he was just the top five receiver in the NFL based on the production. Now, the production wasn't the same. We know why the production wasn't the same. That's neither here nor there. We don't need to get into that. We didn't have a discourse on that. You know, first round pick for A.J.
Joe
brown.
Ocho
What do we talk about? Makes us that much better. But hell, Romeo Dobbs, Romeo Dobbs went to the, went to the Patriots.
Joe
The Patriots, Yes. I think the thing is, look, it seemed like Cleveland's loading up on Lyman and I know they were loading up on. They got, they got, yes, Officer Lyman, Elkin Jenkins. I think they got another guy from Green Bay. That seems to be what they're doing. Ocho. They haven't really gotten the skill position players we know in. Joku's leaving and, and we feel that they need. Look, they got Harold Fanning, who had a fabulous rookie season. I think they need some help. I think they need some receiver help. I think they need a stud receiver. Now, I don't know if AJ wants to go there, but that would be a great place you go get targets. They might be inconsistent because until Shador grows and matures into that position or Andrew Barrett said that, look, we're going to put this thing up and it might be between Shador and Watson, Deshaun Watson, I don't know. But dealing with Crosby, I, I think I, I see both sides of the prism. I see what you're saying. You said, hey, he been so good, man. Hey, I, I'm willing to shove all in. I'm gonna go all in. I understand the risk that are. That is involved, but I'm willing to absorb those risks to get a player of Max Crosby. I also understand the Raven said, man, this is an awful lot of money and we gotta give up two first round picks for a player that our team staff, our medical staff is saying has a degenerative knee. I see both sides of the equation. I'm glad. I'm glad. See, I want easy decisions. I won't, I won't. I want LeBron James coming out. Yep, I got him. I won't. I want Shaq coming out. Yep, I got him. I want Tim Duncan coming out. Yep, I got him. I want it easy, Ocho. Man, you know what? Matthew Stafford coming out. I got Stafford. I got it away. I wouldn't leave it like that, O Joe. I don't want to have like, damn.
Ocho
That's a, that's a part of the game. That's the right. That's right.
Joe
Jamar. Jamarcus Russell or, or Calvin Johnson. I wanted Peyton Manning or, or, or Ryan Lee. I don't want it like that. I want to slam dunk.
Ocho
It's never like that.
Joe
I don't want. Hey, oh, yo, I want those. I don't even want a free throw. I want a slam dunk. I want Shaq, I want Duncan, I want LeBron, I want Stafford, I want Elway. I want you. I want it easy. And, but this, that's why you make the big bucks. I mean, everybody talking about, oh, it's easy, it's easy. Boom, boom, boom.

Joe
Boom Boom. Speaking to the AFC north with John Jackson says new Brown head coach Todd Monkin has been a refreshing surprise. Ocho, let's take a listen to what
Ocho
different coaches over the past couple years
Joe
have you heard from your new head
Ocho
coach Todd Monkin yet, bro, I have.
Joe
And bro, honestly, like, it's not what I thought it would have been like. Well, when I say that in a good way, I thought it was going
Ocho
to be like more so, like because
Joe
my past coach, bro, he was like really even kill, bro, like super quiet. I thought I was going to get that from. From Coach Monkin, but it wasn't that. Like he was like a real players
Ocho
coach, bro, like, you know, like give
Joe
me hug like all that, bro. So he was just super communicative of
Ocho
what he wanted from the team, what
Joe
his goal is, what his objective is, what he want to come in and do.
Ocho
And you know, he knows exactly what he wants and he has a vision.
Joe
And I think that's what's important as
Ocho
a head coach and especially being vocal about it too.
Joe
I think that's what matters. I respect the crowd.
Ocho
I like that. Yeah.
Joe
Could this be perceived as a shot at Stefanski?
Ocho
I wouldn't say it's a shot of Stefanski. Everyone has their coaching styles, everyone has their approach and how they, how they talk to players. Todd Monkin probably is a player's coach. Maybe he has a different energy about himself and Stefanski carries himself in a much different way than Monkin does. And so therefore you will get different reactions when you have a coach that's somewhat mild mannered, someone, someone that's even keel as. As he said, someone who's not. Not very, very jubilant about the way about their coaching style. And maybe Todd Monkin is just different. So for him it's refreshing because it's something that he's not used to being, that he's just getting into the NFL and that's all he's known so far during his short NFL career is what he saw from Stefanskin. Now you get Todd Monkin, who's completely different approach, a different way of doing things. So to him that is refreshing.
Joe
Yeah, they're gonna do say all the right things till they get your ass in there and then watch how they behave. It's just like when you go to college. Oh, you're great. Oh, your son is unbelievable. Yeah, we're so glad to have.
Ocho
Oh, you know, they say your dream.
Joe
Johnson, get your ass over here. Hello. You just told my grandma you were glad to have me over here. How you talking about get my ass over here, get line and run and all this.
Ocho
Hey, listen, hey, coaches, when they first get to a team, boy, they like politicians, boy.
Joe
Oh, yeah.
Ocho
Hey, they like politicians. When college coaches come to visit you at your house, Politicians, boy, you get there, but they act like they don't even know you.
Joe
Yeah.
Ocho
Once they get you in the building, they good.
Joe
Everything change, Ochos, like you said, as a politician, they lie to everybody.
Ocho
Yeah.
Joe
So they get whatever story they don't told you. They don't told a hundred other guys that same lie.
Ocho
It's a nice script too. Nice script. They just changed the name.
Joe
Yeah. And plus, yeah, hey, it's gonna be ev kill until y' all don't win no games. And then watch how much hell he raised. Oh yeah, because right now you're undefeated. You're undefeated right now.
Ocho
Yeah.
Joe
Everybody's saying the right thing. Everybody's excited and I get all of that. But guess what? They're gonna pump them footballs up and they're gonna kick them, kick them off in September.
Ocho
Oh yeah. You're gonna have to play.
Joe
You're gonna have to play. The Eagles and defensive tackle Jordan Davis have reached an agreement on a three year, 78 million dollar extension tying him to the Eagles for the next four seasons. The deal includes 65 million guarantee and makes Davis the highest paid no tackle in the NFL. The number 13 pick in 2022, Davis was entering his fifth year option season worth nearly $13 million. I've been very impressed with this young man. Yeah, he was phenomenal at his combine day. He was a phenomenal player at uga. But to see what he's done to his body, the way he's taking it serious, the way he's gotten himself in shape and the way he plays hard. Because at first Ocho, they just played him on. He's just a two down player. Yeah, he's just, he's a two down player now. He's turned himself in, he's gotten his body right and he's turned himself into a hell of a football. And he should have went to the damn Pro Bowl. Yeah, I forget who they took over him, but he should have went to the damn Pro Bowl. Cause he had a hell of a season to be told. He outplayed his car. He outplayed his teammate. Yeah, he was better than Carter this year, Ocho.
Ocho
Yeah, this year. Yeah, he was. He was. And this, this, this also brother Lurie and, and Howie have done a great job over the years of striking while it's hot and early. Yeah, striking while it's hot and early. But it also leads me to believe, are you really going to pay duty? 2d tackles. Then you have Cooper John, then you have Desean. I mean Keon Mitchell.
Joe
Yes.
Ocho
Also coming up so I'm, I'm curious what's going to happen with that and with it being Jalen Carter, as good as he is, wouldn't he have to supersede that contract of.
Joe
Yeah. Or am I tripping based on, based on what he's done?
Ocho
Yes.
Joe
Yeah. If I'm not mistaken, I think he's a two time Pro bowl player. An all pro. Yes. Yeah. He'll probably get. He gonna get double what he got.
Ocho
Yeah. So. So. Have you ever seen a scenario where both D tackles are paid?
Joe
No, I haven't.
Ocho
So that, that's, that's, that's, that's what I was, that's what I was thinking.
Joe
I mean, you see Dallas got a bunch of D tackles that's making 20 plus million dollars a year. They got what, three of them?
Ocho
Yeah.
Joe
They got Quinny or Diggy and they got clean.
Ocho
Yeah.
Joe
So no, I don't see a scenario. Add another chapter to Yukon coach Dan Hurley's combative history with officials. Just as March Madness practices approaching, Hurley was ejected from the fourth ranked Huskies 6862 loss to Marquette today after picking up two technical files. With one second remaining, Hurley argued that his player was fouled while driving to the basket. With the Huskies trailing 6,462, Hurley approached John Gaffney and gotten his. And got chest. He got in his chest next to the official right shoulder. While voicing his displeasure, Hurley said he never bucked Gaffney, though some replays suggest otherwise. Ocho?
Ocho
No,
Joe
he was probably trying to eat. Looked like he's trying to jockey his team. You know, they have a good run. Maybe get a one or two seed in the NCAA tournament.
Ocho
Yes, sir.
Joe
Frustrated, say it was foul. Guy said, no, he wasn't foul. I didn't see it. So don't start me the line chat. I gotta. So Chad, if y' all saw it, jump in the chat and said, yeah, he was foul and no he wasn't. I mean, but that's, but that's his history. He's, he's very, he pick up text.
Ocho
I mean he, he animated.
Joe
Yeah. I think he, he from Jersey and you can tell he got that jersey.
Ocho
Is he, is he bad as Bob Knight or not? Not.
Joe
That ain't nobody bad as Bob Knight. Bob Knight was cussing, throwing chairs, punching people, punching coaches, punching his own players. Oh,
Ocho
that's funny. Yeah.
Joe
Ocho. According to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, the Page Patriots reportedly wanted Max Crosby this off season. But Tom Brady finally spoke to someone involved in the Crosby trade and was quoted, no way. Tom was sending Max to Brable. Brady and Brable were teammates in New England from 2001 to 2008. However, it seems Tom doesn't have any plan on helping his own team. Yeah, Ocho, should the Raiders be worried that Tom ties to the Patriots could affect business?
Ocho
No, not really. Because I think Tom knows what he's doing. He knows what he's doing from a business side, especially trying to do what you can. I think what the Patriots might have been offering for Matt Crosby, they weren't getting in return. I think what the Ravens got, what the Ravens were willing to give up for Mac Crosby. Tom Brady understands what I can continue to build over there in Las Vegas, and he understood that this is about business. Now, whether I want to help you improve or not, are you going to compensate me the value that we need to continue to prove our roster if we're giving away our identity to you? The Patriots probably weren't willing to do that, but the goddamn Ravens were.
Joe
So if the Patriots have two first and the Ravens have two first, you think Tom Brady doing business with his old team?
Ocho
That's a great question.
Joe
That's a good question. I don't think so. He ain't helping them now. I think it's a situation. Honestly. This is me, and like I said, I haven't talked to anybody, but I can see a situation like what happened with Peyton and the Colts. If you didn't know better, you would swear Peyton Manning only played for the Broncos because where do you see him? At the games on Sunday? Yeah, at the Broncos. Where do you see him? Doing stuff with the Broncos. He has a statue out in front of Lucas Oil. Tom probably will never say this, and he won a championship. I'm the greatest quarterback ever, and you let me know. You told me I wasn't good enough. It wasn't. It was bad enough when I first got into the league, I had to watch guy after guy after guy after guy. And you mean to tell me after six Super Bowls, after three MVPs, after four Super Bowl MVPs, I'm not good enough?
Ocho
Funny how that business work, huh?
Joe
And. And I understand Coach Belichick, but he said, Mr. Kraft, you signed off, you fired him. So you mean to tell me you couldn't override it? You let it get to this. That's just me. That's just me looking at knowing how. Yes. Yeah.
Ocho
That's a good one. That's a good one.
Joe
That man. Hey, that man. You see how he held against every team that passed his ass up?
Ocho
Gave him gave.
Joe
Hey, put foot for 23.
Ocho
Gave him hell, everybody.
Joe
He did. I, I, like I said, and I could be. I could be totally wrong, but I think there's still some resentment there. He will never say it. And I get it. I get it. You always put, oh, no, we're great. And, you know, the Patriots and yada, yada, yada. He's been very, very positive about Mr. Coach Belichick. He's been very, very positive about Mr. Kraft. They gave up.
Ocho
Yeah.
Joe
After every. So let that sink in. So, Chad, so next time y' all talking about these players and this and that, he's on the very short list, whether you think a quarterback can be the goat of an. Of a league that's neither here nor there. We'll debate that another time. Here's a guy that had an exemplary career for 20 years in New England with six Super Bowls, four MVPs, three regular season MVPs, and, you know, when it comes to clutch, we ain't talking about the one that's in your car with a manual transmission. We're talking about the. And when you need something to happen, he can make it pop off. And they said, nah, bro, you ain't got it no more. We would be better without you. Hey, so I got a question. Y' all think that the championship that he won in Tampa Bay is more significant than anyone he's won in New England? I wouldn't be surprised if it meant more especially.
Ocho
Especially going from one team to another and being able to win it the first year. And when stuff like that happened, Joe, like if you were playing a video game and let's say you just trade one player to another team now, you expect to win. But to be able to do it in real life, to go to a new organization after being somewhere for 20.
Joe
20 years. 20. Yeah.
Ocho
And people say, oh, well, we don't know what's going to happen. Did you win in New England because of Bill, or was it because of you? And then you go to the next place and win the following season? When people play their whole career and never go to a Super Bowl.
Joe
Yeah, but. But Tampa Bay wasn't just slow, though. They was just.
Ocho
All the pizza was already there. They were missing one thing.
Joe
Yeah. Yeah. All they needed, the guy that didn't turn the ball over. Right, right. And I think because. Because they didn't believe in him. He's like, hold on. After everything I've done, y' all still doubt me now? Okay. It was so. Boy, I would have loved to be a fly on the wall when he was with his friends, his closest friend, his mom, his dad, his agent, his boys. Yeah. Cause you got to realize now, once he left, that thing unraveled fairly quickly.
Ocho
Very quickly. You know, if you don't have a quarterback, I mean, look, hold on. Mac Jones looked good his first year, but you understand why he looked good and what he had to deal with his second year. Somebody that shouldn't be been appointed, that had nothing to do with officer play calling, didn't know what they was doing. So it went downhill very fast.
Joe
Damn. Some guys you just look, you see, that happens because I, I don't care how well you played. Eventually, what they do with Joe Emmett Smith, the Cowboys. What they do, Ocho? Oh, yeah, Joe, you know, that's your team, you know. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So Joe Montana, Emmett Smith, Tom Brady, Jerry Rice. I can make a case. Therefore, the top eight at their position.
Ocho
Yeah.
Joe
Had to finish their careers elsewhere. Cause the team, after everything they had done, said, nah, we good. Yeah. But when a, When a player says, I will, hey, I want out. Are you selfish? Yeah. You know how it goes. Ocho, Joe, the rams and Trent McDuffie agreed to a record four year deal. 124 million dollar extension. 100 million dollars. Get 100 million guaranteed. Making him the highest paid cornerback in history. The highest paid cornerback per year. He makes 31 million. Sauce Gardner 30.1. Stingley Jr. 30. J.C. horn, 25. Jalen Ramsey 21, 24.1. And Pat Sir Tan, second 24. McDuffie. Strapping like that.
Ocho
He nice now. He nice. Hold on. Hey, listen. He very nice. He could play inside. Joe. He could play on the outside too at times if need be. He could travel. I'm not sure what they gonna. How they gonna use him over there. He's probably not going to travel. I'm sure he has a Pacific side that he likes to play based on what he did in Kansas City. But he could strap. Hey, he could strap. Boy, he can strap. When I had, I remember I had my wide receiver workshop and I talked about some of the DBs that were difficult, you know, to play against. I, I asked uno, I asked Jamar Chase, I asked some, some other receivers, and obviously Patrick Certain was at the top. But goddamn, Trent McDuffie's name kept coming up.
Joe
He.
Ocho
He had to deal with along with, you know, Denzel Ward. And it's the same, it's the same name that always when we talk about, it's denzel ward, Trent McDuffie past 13, you know, the JC horns stingley. Horns Stingley is, is always in that conversation too.
Joe
So Gonzalez is not that. Now you guys, you have. Hey, they're gonna have to do something with Gonzalez. You're gonna have to do.
Ocho
Oh, yeah, yeah, I forgot. Gonzalez is up too. Hey, he nice, huh? He nice. I wish, I wish he talk a little bit more. So the, the, the, the. The personality matches.
Joe
Get that man to talk out of his game. OC you try to get that man to talk down.
Ocho
No, I'm just saying. Because that ain't his game.
Joe
That's.
Ocho
He can decide. We need that kind of personality to be a little bit more brash, a little bit more boastful about how good they are.
Joe
Daddy Ocho, that's your game. You try to get him to do something like you did. Everybody can't talk and play, okay? Some people just like to play and let them play. Talking for you and I, we like to talk and play and I'm gonna tell you what I'm gonna do and then my play. Go talk for me on top of it.
Ocho
Yeah, yeah.
Joe
Because sometimes I get too tired to talk, but I'm gonna play. I'm gonna hit this touchdown on you. I'm doing something.
Ocho
He nice, though. But that's, that's, that's a really, that's a really. Listen, that defense improves, which is already good, which is already good at that at the back. The back end was already good, especially last year. But to add that to what they already have, especially with that front line the Rams got and you get a solid piece at corner. They gonna be nice. They gonna be. I would love to be. I would love to be a fly on the wall at a practice in the one on ones with Trent McDuffie and Puka Nakua. I would love. I would love to see that.
Joe
Pookie ain't no slouch, man. Oh, they must be got some money. I know Mr. Cronky got a boatload, but it's gonna take some more. Cause. Cause what? What? He just. What? He just paid. What? He just paid. Yeah, McDuffie, he gonna have to add about 40, 50 more million to that.
Ocho
Puka is Puka this year or is it next year?
Joe
Puka. Puka up. Yeah. Hey, it's Puka's fourth. Hold on. This Pooka, third or fourth year. Puka was a fifth round pick.
Ocho
Oh, my goodness.
Joe
Yeah, he up. He only did a three year deal. Hey, they gonna have to. They gonna have to back up that bridge.
Ocho
He's gonna reset the market now. I'm curious. I'M curious if over there in Seattle they waiting on. On Puga to sign or they gonna. Or JSN gonna sign first or they're gonna make JSN play one more year.
Joe
So he's played three years or four years. He's been three years. He just finished year three. Okay. He signed a four year deal. Damn. They signed that many. They signed that long a deal. When in as a fifth rounder deal. Yeah. Yeah, he about. He about to. He about to. Yeah, he about to break. He about to break it up.
Ocho
Joe. He might get 42 for what he got to give. 42 a year. 32. Yeah.
Joe
Who the high. Who the highest paid receiver right now, Chase? Yeah, we gonna reset. Reset the market.
Ocho
That's crazy. Hey, Joe. It's gonna keep going up too, Joe, if you keep going up.
Joe
Yeah. Hey, I don't know if you saw, but you saw the NFL tried to redo them TV deals. You see that Ocho? They are get out of here.
Ocho
Yeah, but they want mo.
Joe
Hey, Netflix say we want in. Oh, yeah. Cbs, Paramount say, hey, y' all know we got a good relationship. We bought up everything. We put it on Internet. What you want to. You want a cvs? You want. Hey, you won't see it in whatever network you want. Netflix. Hey, you know, in order to be considered for real, you got to get live events. You got to get a live sporting event and nothing better than the NFL football and teams gonna pay big dollars for it. And they know that. After missing out on Max Frosty, the Cowboys opted for another. Another edge rusher. Rayshung Gary is headed to the Cowboys with an old teammate of Kenny Clark to bolster the Cowboys pass rush post Michael Parsons era. Ocho, do you like the signing?
Ocho
I like it. I like. I like Rashawn Gary. I like the signing. I didn't like the disappearing act that he pulled after having nine sex the last nine games. Or maybe it was a zero.
Joe
Nine games.
Ocho
That's. That's what I was trying to say. But he had. How many did he have before those last nine games where he went on hiatus?
Joe
I think he had like eight. I think he had like eight and a half. Okay.
Ocho
Yeah.
Joe
I mean, whatever the number in his first games and then he had.
Ocho
Right.
Joe
Got shut out. The last nine games.
Ocho
Yeah, the last nine. So obviously once. Once Micah got there and Micah came, Micah had 12 and a half and missed four games. And missed four games. So I'm not sure. I think Rashawn Gary is a good signing if he can get off to a Great start like he did in Green Bay with that and have some consistency and not disappear like he did or tail off at the end of the season. I think it would be a great, great pickup, you know, for the Dallas Cowboys. I, I and, and chat, stay with me real quick. I still think they, they might be in a play for Trey Henderson or is that deal off the table because you got Rashan Gary? What do you think?
Joe
I think they're going to replay a 3, 4 so if they gonna play a 34, you put Henderson as a standup linebacker, you put Gary as a standup linebacker and you will probably have Quinny Williams and Odiggy Zua as your end and then you probably have Kenny Clark as your nose.
Ocho
So listen, just based off what you just said just there, I mean obviously on paper with names, it sounds good. They still have to play as a unit all together collectively, but to me it sounds good. I'm not sure if they're going to have the money to do so and a lot of people say, oh, they don't have the money. I don't think people understand when teams want to do something, there's a way to move money around. You do understand that, right? Yeah, there's always a way to move money around. There's no way to stop them. When they want to sign a player individually, they, they can restructure and they manipulate whatever numbers they need to to
Joe
get who they did. Dax contract, they restructured Dak, they restructured a cd. They did restructured Tyler Smith, they did something with Terrence Steele. So they, they got, they got a little money to play with. I don't know if they're going to do something with Deron Bland probably if they rework those contract over Diggy Zooa, right. Quinnie Williams and Kenny Clark probably give them some more money to play with because you know, you just kick the can down the road. You know, you tear the contract up, add voidable years and you know, I'm saying and give them the signing bonus Ojo. So I think that's what it's going to do. Yeah, I, I think the thing for me is that they give up a fourth round draft pick, pay the guy 19 and a half million dollars this year, he has 20, 22 and a half million next year, but it's not guaranteed. And then when you look at Khalil Mack, he just signed a one year deal for 18 million. Me personally, I think Khalil Mack is a better player. I think the thing is that when you look at Rashawn Garrett, he's a guy that's never had a double digit sack season. And you mentioned something very interesting. The last nine games, zero sacks. It's hard for me to see a scenario because, you know, Michael's getting double team. It's hard for me to see a scenario where you can't get one sack, two sacks with all the attention with the guy on the other side. It's kind of like if you, a wide receiver and you play with another great ride receiver, you can't tell me, you mean to tell me you can't get a couple of touchdowns, you can't get or have a couple of big games when I know they're giving attention to the other guy on the other side. So that was, that was. I, I'm not, I'm not saying, look, maybe he was hurt, but I'm saying that would cause me to pause like, okay, now what's going. Let me, let me, let me, let me try to dive a little deeper to see what's really going on with you. Right?
Ocho
Yeah. Yeah. Matter of fact, hold on. And let me, let me, let me get the Raiders. Matt Crosby is going to Baltimore. Who's replaced, who's replaced Max?
Joe
They're probably gonna go in the draft because you got the first pick in the draft and you got number 14.
Ocho
So I'm thinking with Rashawn Gary, if the Cowboys feel they, they feel their need at the defensive position as far as offseason acquisitions go and they want to work at other levels that they do have, then I say maybe Trey Henderson, if I, I don't, I don't see a scenario where he signs back, no, that ain't, I mean, what they, that mean, obviously that's, that's not going to happen. So maybe there's a scenario where Trey Henderson ends up in, in, in Vegas.
Joe
Possible in Las Vegas.
Ocho
I, I tweet, I tweeted, okay, Trey Henderson is going to end up a cowboy. I tweeted it because I, I wholeheartedly believe it. But when they got Rashawn Gary, I'm like knowing Jerry, knowing the way he is, he's not very aggressive, not too aggressive in the off season. I mean, listen, he may, he made a move.
Joe
Yeah, he seemed to be more active than he's ever been in his life. You see, he tried to make a play for Nicole Dean. He makes the, you know, he traded, traded for Quinny Williams. Yes, he traded Michael and he got compensation back. And so you see some of the moves that he's making. This is the first time that we've seen Dallas really spending the off season or really try to make moves and not no C or D level moves. These are. Look, it remains to be seen how Rashawn Gary is going to play out, but to try to go into freezing and get into Kobe Dean because that is a, that is a, a position of need. Your linebackers. Your linebackers need. They need.
Ocho
Yeah.
Joe
And the player. 3, 4. Ocho, your back has got to be good in the 3, 4. They got to be some thoughts.
Ocho
Yeah, they got to be. They got to be. Yeah. Oh, yeah. Yeah.
Joe
Seattle Seahawks are bringing back wide receiver Rasheed Shahid on a 3 year, 51 million dollar contract. Ocho 34.7 million guaranteed. Shahid joined cornerback Josh Job as clee players returning to the defending super bowl champion in free agency. Seattle, however, lost both Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker to the Chiefs and defensive back Kobe Bryant to the Bears to join a new team. Did Seattle do enough to try to run it back now? Ocho, I gotta save a little something because you know, you know, Ocho, you know a spoon and you know, jsn, I got, I got to take care of them.
Ocho
Oh, yeah, absolutely. Absolutely.
Joe
I kind of want to like, kind of want to do a little something for Sam Donald, let him know that we really appreciate what he did.
Ocho
Yeah, I mean, I mean, listen, you know, they know how to manipulate those numbers. They know what they, what they need to do. You got to take care of jsn, you got to take care of Witherspoon because they have been phenomenal. Those are key pieces to your, to your team in general. I'm not sure when it's going to happen. I don't know. I'm waiting. I'm waiting. Have they done enough to fill in to make a repeat or have a run run again? I'm not sure the defense will look the same as it did this year. You can find pieces. Are you gonna, are you gonna find someone that's going to fill in that position at the defensive back position and do it Tyreek Woolen was able to do? I mean, they had that nickname for a reason. They had the nickname for a reason. So if you're not bringing back that same squad with the same players that had that continuity, that continuity, will it be the same? You know, will Sam Donald play as well as he did this season? Hell, well, he proved he could do it. He went from Minnesota, playing well in Minnesota and ain't missing beating Seattle. So, I mean, you would see him now already being paid you, you would see Some consistency, you know on his part. So I'm sure they probably will look just as good.
Joe
And you go back to the Raiders, they also signed Quay Walker from the, from Green Bay. Cause remember Green Bay traded the line linebacker. They traded for what's the Indianapolis coast guy. They traded 44 him and he was on the 520 show.
Ocho
Zier Franklin. Zier Franklin.
Joe
They traded for Zier Quay Walker who was University of Georgia. Hey, as a matter of fact I think Qu and Nicobe played together. I think so now they got the Georgia. Now the Georgia boys reunited cuz you know they had two Georgia boys and, and, and had three.
Ocho
Yeah.
Joe
With Philly Carter and Davis and the Kobe Dean.
Ocho
Right.
Joe
And so.
Ocho
Hey, I still don't understand. I know you just said it. I don't understand how they let Zaya Frank Zaire Franklin go. But Unc boy he's.
Joe
Hey, he gonna stop the run now.
Ocho
Goodness, he'd be all over the place.
Joe
He'll thumper. Hey, he. I don't know what defense they gonna run but he'll perfect for a 3, 4 defense because he a big, he a big ass that can take on guards. Obviously you know, when you're that size you're not going to be as nimble and play the covered pass that well. So he'll probably be coming out on third down. But I, you know, I, I, I like to pick for Green Bay. Green Bay's like we need to get better in run defense and they felt, you know, Quay is more agile. But it's going to be interesting to see. I like what the Raiders have done so far. They didn't translate. Just cause you spent a boatload of money in free agency, Ocho, doesn't mean it's going to translate automatically if that,
Ocho
if that's the case, hey listen, that's the case. The goddamn status would have translated based on what they, what they acquired in the off season with all that elite talent that they had.
Joe
So it's going to be very. But you know, we're not surprised that we see this kind of movement. We normally see this movement the first two days. Mike Evans is leaving Tampa Bay. He's heading to the bay to join Kyle Shanahan and Brock Purdy. Mike will have a new home for the first time in his NFL career as he chases his second Super Bowl. He's signing a three year contract with the 49ers. Until injuries derailed his 2025 campaign, Evans had a streak of 11 straight seasons of at least 1,000 receiving yards. He tied Jerry Rice for the longest in NFL history. His was to begin the career. Jerry has his from 90. He had his from 96 to. From 86 to 96. 108 total touchdown ranks 10th all time, six most with one franchise. He amassed 368 yards in eight games last season. If he's still the same player, he has the potential to be really, really good for Kyle Shanahan because we know what Kyle can do in that offense. Playmakers such as Christian McCaffrey, George Kittle, we'll see. Coming back from an Achilles injury, Ocho. Yeah. Gonna have to be. He's gonna have to take another step. He's gonna have to take another step. Ojo Juwan is a free agent. Kendrick Bourne, if I'm not mistaken. I think I saw him before I came on tonight. Signed with Arizona on a nice deal. Ojo, what you think? Are you surprised that Mike.
Ocho
Evan, I absolutely love it. I absolutely love it. I absolutely love it because I know what Mike Evans could do. Hold on. Not only do I know what Mike Evans could do, he's going to a team where you got a goddamn offensive genius. You're going to an offense that is predicated on putting you in position to make plays. What is goddamn Mike Evans. He's a playmaker. And he showed you in a long stretch of 11 seasons of having a thousand yards. Now, it's unfortunate, I tweeted dolphins, we got Malik Willis. Let's get Mike Evans. Because I understand we needed down here in Miami another playmaker, right? And lo and behold, shortly after that, he signed with the 49ers. And I'm not even mad about it because I understand, oh, my goodness. You putting Mike Evans in that system like that, with the creativity and the office of prowess that Kyle Shanahan has when it comes to officer play calling and putting players in position to make plays, man, hell, Mike Evans might go for a thousand, maybe fifteen hundred, I think.
Joe
The thing is, Ocho, and you saw this the last couple of years, the injury started to creep up. And as they started to creep up, they started to keep you out a little longer. You see, remember he had a hamstring and he was able to come back to keep that thousand catch season alive. And then this year it came. And then all of a sudden, he couldn't fight it off. He couldn't come back. So I think that was a little concern because Tam has lost a couple of guys. There are a couple of guys that are leaving Tampa and moving on. But when you. When you look at it, I Think obviously, IUK isn't coming back. Kendrick Bourne is at a new location. There's a free agent. George Kittle is coming off a very serious injury, and he. How old is killer? 32, 33. He's 32 years old, coming off an Achilles injury. We'll see how soon he can get back. Yeah, because if you think about it, ocho, Jason Tatum, 10 months. Okay. Kill the Tory of the kids in January, February, March, April, May, June, July, August, September, October, November. 10 months. I'll be November. Yeah, that's if he comes 10. But now he. Could he come back at 9 and make it October? Could he come back in 8, make it September?
Ocho
Right.
Joe
Probably pushing it. But hey, got you. As a professional athlete, sometimes you have to protect us from us, but we'll see how that, how that plays out. But they needed a receiver.
Ocho
Yeah.
Joe
And you see Wandell Robinson, you saw what he got from Tennessee. You saw. Yeah. With Pierce, what he got from Alec from Indianapolis. So that's about. What's about 29 million a year. 4 for 116.
Ocho
Hey, timing, timing.
Joe
So 29 for 116. So what George Pickett, you say George Pickett, he said, and y' all think y' all want to give me 28 to 30 million, man, stop playing.
Ocho
I could have told that. It honestly is disrespectful. I mean, those that I don't want to call them casual fans that watch football is. They say, oh, franchise tag, 28 million and think that's enough. Not understanding. Are you foolish?
Joe
Are you tripping?
Ocho
Are you understanding? That's why I was so boisterous and so enthusiastic about him being able to go somewhere else. Because I understand the game that they're going to play. I understand the game. They don't see it because they just want him on his team. Everybody's selfish. He was great for us. We want him our team. We don't care. He got a franchise that he getting 28, 29 million, man, please stop playing.
Joe
But anyway, yeah, I think the thing is the. The whole thing is that, man, as you start to age and you start to get nicked it. I don't know what it is Ocho is like. It seems like the injuries happen with greater frequency as we start to age and we start to get injured in our older age, in our latter years, we start getting nicked in year 10, year 11, year 12. Man, it's hard. The body just doesn't recover like it once did. It's tough.
Ocho
Well, you know, I can tell. I can tell you Something, you know, for, for, for someone who has never been injured. Oh, glory be to God. Because of that. I, I, I, I don't know what it is, especially what it is with players when they get up in age. And I'm assuming maybe it's wear and tear on the body from the, the rigorous workouts and, and what they've done over the years. And I, I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't know a factor, I don't know what you can factor into it as to why it always happens. The funny thing about the nature of the beast when it comes to playing this game. Injuries are inevitable. They're going to happen, and you want to minimize them the best way you can, whether it be through nutrition, whether
Joe
it be through preventative measure, you know, your cold tub, your hot tub, your exercise therapy. Yeah, yes, yes.
Ocho
Taking care of your body. But the one thing about it is some just aren't lucky. And it just happens. It just happens. Even when you prevent, you take all the proper measurements to make sure you don't get hurt. It just happens.
Joe
So Evan's agent isn't stressed about. It was stressed. It wasn't about money. The Buccaneers were extremely aggressive in their pursuit pursuit and presented a very strong offer offer demonstrating how much they value him and everything he meant to the franchise. In the end, the decision came down to Mike wanting a new challenge and a fresh opportunity while still he feels he has a great deal left in his game. Ocho, what does this say? I mean, he's been, he's been, he had opportunity to leave elsewhere and he stayed. Now, you do realize Tampa, Florida doesn't have state taxes. California got the highest state taxes in the state in the United States. So for him to say, basically I'm, basically no matter what, if the numbers are even, I'm taking less money because they're going to take more time. They're going to take 13, 14 of your money.
Ocho
Right.
Joe
So if you making 5 million, you making $5 million, they're taking 750 off the rip, let alone the cost of living and what it costs to live in San Jose or whatever the case may to be. Yeah, so what, what, what, what's going on with Mike? Why, why do you think he wanted to change the scene? Why do you think he wanted a fresh start considering he had spent so many years in Tampa?
Ocho
In, in Tampa? I don't, I don't think, I don't think the numbers were correct. I don't think if, if it was enough, if it, if it's the numbers, what, what they should have been, I think it would have stayed in Tampa, obviously. I think the 49ers offered him more and he understood the situation and going to the 49ers. Well, hold on. This is the situation where I can be that guy again.
Joe
Yep.
Ocho
You know, they throw the ball in volume. You know, I'm, I'm going to catch a lot of pass, I'm going to score a lot of touchdowns and continue, continue to build on my legacy going through Mike Shanahan's offense. I understand that they have a, a good quarterback in Brock Purdy, so he understands that George Kittle's not going to be out again. They're going to need me. I might be able to double, maybe even triple what I can do at the receiver position, you know, in the usage rate in which, in which they're going to use me. So I think the Bucks are probably moving forward in having Ubuka be that number one receiver and having that complimentary, that complimentary piece and Godwin, you know, follow right behind him as the number two. Outside of that, I think the writing was on the wall. And then moving on when Mike Evans got hurt and Ibuga started having that string of games, maybe three or four games, back to, back to back where he went crazy. And at that point, I think Mike, Mike made the right decision and moving on and continuing to, to build on, you know, on, on his legacy.
Joe
Yeah, I think at this price point, I don't, I don't, I mean, I don't think the numbers have been revealed yet, but I didn't see a scenario where they could pay. Getting in. Alex, the, Alex, the Pierce sweepstake. Wandell Robinson sweepstakes. So you see some of these guys that's getting the big money. I don't, you know, considering they got Purdy on that kind of money, they got Christian McCaffrey on that kind of money, they got Kiddo, who's the highest paid tight end at that kind of money. They got Bosa, they got Fred Warner, they got some guys, they got some big contracts on show. And so I, I, I just think the thing is, is that if, if, if Mike Evans still have some tread on the tire, I think I definitely think he can help this team. Now the question is, are they going to go, are they going to get, are they going to bring Jennings back? Because I thought he played well for him.
Ocho
He did.
Joe
I thought he played extremely well. He did. Given the, the, the, the inconsistencies of what been in and out of lineup. Whether it was Purdy or, or Mac Jones playing Kittle being in and out of the lineup, obviously Iuk didn't play Pierce, Pierce, Pierce all being hurt for him to, to come in and play as well as he did. I thought he did a great job. So. But we'll see what Mike Evans have. I mean you believe he still has something. I don't know if he's going to be. Yeah, five, six years ago, Mike Evans, but if he can give him somewhere 800 to a thousand yards, you know, seven, eight times.
Ocho
He getting way more than 1,000 in that offense. Yeah, absolutely. Okay, great run after catch. Yeah, yeah.
Joe
That's, that's your level of expertise as the wide receiver. So I'm gonna take your word for it. But you know, look he's. I think the thing is a plus with Jennings. Oo he's gonna want big money. He sees what all these other guys, I mean you see what these other guys are making. You don't want to be the guy to go out there all of a sudden.
Ocho
Yeah.
Joe
And get like a, a, a three year, eighteen million dollar deal where you see guys getting I think wonder Robinson got what like 20 million a year and Alec appears got like you know, 20, 28, 29 million a year. You don't want to be the guy like damn bro, you a friend and that's all you got. So he's go.
Ocho
I mean he gonna get, he gonna get his chance. He gonna get his chance. You gonna get, he gonna get a chance somewhere.
Joe
Yeah. Because I think he, he definitely, he definitely earned it. He played extremely well and he deserved that opportunity. So we'll see where he ends up going. But Mike Evans is going to the San Francisco 49ers.
