You.
Co-host 1
Okay?
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Okay, okay.
Joe Johnson
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Okay. As you can see, the clicker is going. We're about 25, 33 away from 2 million. So let's keep it going. Let's try to get there in the next few days. Arkansas beat high point. Score of 94.88. Darius Acuff finished with 36 points. John Calipari was making 17th trip to the Sweet 16. When the. When asked Arkansas when who's the difference in the team? Calipari didn't miss word. I think it's that kid, Darius Aco. We put him in his head. We put it in his hands, and I trust him. And. And the team trust him. He was sensational tonight again, Joe. He was sensational again tonight.
Joe Johnson
Okay. Oh, yeah. It's cuffing season, baby, huh?
Co-host 1
Yes, sir.
Joe Johnson
It is a cuff. It's cuffing season. Listen, hey, man, that's why I say in. In. In. In the tournament, Uncle Ocho. You gotta have great guard play. Give high points some. Give high points some. Credit. Give. Give the kid Martin credit. Cause he came out and he answered the bell, you know, he took on the challenge in playing against Acuff, went bucket for bucket for him. He had 30 points. It was a great game. Great game. I just think the poise and patience that we play with down the street, especially Acuff getting to his spots, Uncle Ocho, that's the difference in having, you know, great guard play, you know, in the NCAA tournament. So I'm glad a cuff is on our side, bro. He looked great. I think he's the one guy who can continue to boost his draft stock throughout this tournament. He continued to keep playing at this high level that he's playing at. He gonna be undeniable, fellas. He gonna be undeniable.
Co-host 1
Hey, yeah, Uncle Joe. Boy, Acuff was nice. He was aggressive. I mean, he didn't.
Joe Johnson
He didn't.
Co-host 1
He didn't take over. He did what he needed to do, you know, when he. When he wanted to, when they had to have a point, when they had to have points in general, he was able to put the ball on the floor, get. Get to the rack. I knew he was good, obviously, watching highlights, but now being able to watch the whole game and get a better understanding. Okay.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Yeah.
Co-host 1
He that boy. Hey, like, he really like that.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Yeah. Because he, he's good. He can get off, he can get to the rim. He got the midi. He can shoot the three ball. He's super duper quick. I like the fact that the other guy was going right back at him. Martin was going right back at him, like, bro, I ain't gonna let you light me up. And I just sit here and take it.
Co-host 1
Yeah.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Well, you take this back at you.
Joe Johnson
Yeah.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
And they were going back and forth. And that's what you. And see, Joe, that's what you're talking about. Because when you talk about a guard, you talk about a guy that's going to have the ball in his hand.
Joe Johnson
Yeah.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
See big. Somebody got to get them the ball. We saw Edie. We saw Edie against Purdue and UConn.
Joe Johnson
Yeah.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
He didn't have the guys that keep getting him the ball. But the difference was UConn has Stefan Castle.
Joe Johnson
Yeah.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Who had the ball in his hands.
Joe Johnson
Yeah.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
So it's a big difference because now I got the ball and I know how to feed Clingan.
Joe Johnson
Yeah.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Who was also on his squad.
Joe Johnson
Yeah.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
And so Acuff, man, you're right, Joe. I think he's definitely increasing his draft stock. It's going up. Me personally looking at him, I didn't think he was going to get out of the top five. It's going to see, it's going to be even harder now for him to get out of the top five considering how well he's playing. Because like you said, Joe, he has an NBA body. He's big, he's physical, he's strong, he can play at the rim. He got the mid range, he can shoot the three ball. He can't quit.
Joe Johnson
Yeah.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Oh, man, everything that you want in
Joe Johnson
a guard, man, his, his senior year in high school. Uncle. Ooh. Acuff shot. I think he shot. I think he shot like low 30s from the three point field goal. From three point percentage.
Co-host 1
Yeah.
Joe Johnson
This year at Arkansas, bro, he drastically improved that. Like, that was my only concern about him coming into college. I knew he was great attacking, getting to the bucket, shooting the floaters, getting to his midi. But the way he shoot the three ball with effortless. You know what I mean? The poise, the confidence that he has, that's what these scouts are looking for, man. They looking for a guy when he gets under pressure, when he's under duress, is he stressing or is he calm? Is he cool? Collective in the moment, making plays, bro. He's all that. He's all that I keep tipping my hat to him. Cause he keep breaking records. I want to give High Point credit because the guy Fletcher who came off the bench, Uncle Ocho, the boy was a low. The boy was getting money out there. He had.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Yeah. I said, man, he'll give him that work. Yeah.
Joe Johnson
So High Point surprise, man. I can see why they beating a lot of great teams.
Co-host 1
Yeah.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
But you can see why they came back and beat North Carolina. Now. It makes. It makes sense to me.
Joe Johnson
There you go.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
It makes sense to me. And had you not had a guy like a cup, you probably lose that game.
Joe Johnson
Yeah.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
The difference is North Carolina didn't have anybody could take the game over. They didn't. Arkansas had someone that could take the game over. Now, they did get contribution from a lot of other people. Richmond iii, Malik, Thomas, Ewan. They had guys that can contribute. North Carolina, once they. Once a High Point withstood that onslaught. They had that 19 point lead and as they started to chip away, Hubert Davis didn't have anybody that they could just give the ball and say, son, calm. Calm it down.
Joe Johnson
Absolutely.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Okay.
Joe Johnson
Absolutely.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Okay.
Joe Johnson
Absolutely.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Now, hey, get us in. Get us in a. Hey, get us a good shot. Get us in a good rhythm. Get a good. Just relax, take a deep breath. Hey. We knew they were gonna make a run at us.
Joe Johnson
Yeah.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Now let's weather this storm. Hey, everybody, as long as you don't blow the roof off the house, we good, right?
Joe Johnson
Right.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
We're inside. As long as we don't. Hey, as long as we don't come outside and get into the weather, yeah, we're good. And they didn't have that. But tonight Arkansas had that with Acuff. He's special. Yeah, he's a special kid. I believe he. Joe, I agree with you. I think he has what it takes to be. To play at a. I'm not going to be surprised if he averaged somewhere between 15 and 18 points a game next year, depending on where he goes.
Joe Johnson
Oh, yeah. I think where he gets drafted definitely plays a huge part in that. But it's a lot of great guys out here. It's a lot of good guards playing in this tournament. But I mean, dude, eight cover, game changer, man. Like I'm talking about. I'm talking about. Seriously, when it comes down to the clutch, it was 83. 83 with probably two and a half minutes left. And bro, he just took over the game. You don't have to tell him nothing. That's instinctively in him. That's who he is. That's who he's been. That's who he's been the whole season. He won SEC Freshman of the Year. SEC Player of the Year as a freshman. He. Dude, probably 19 years old, man. Yeah.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Even the high point played Wisconsin. They came back and beat Wisconsin.
Joe Johnson
Yeah.
Co-host 1
Hey, Uncle Joe, as good as he is with his ability to understand game and understand situations, wherever he gets drafted, based on the situation, are they going to allow him to be the same player he is at Arkansas even though he's so young, or were they not, I don't want to say working men a little bit. Obviously, I would assume if he, if he gets picked that high, he's going to be the starter.
Joe Johnson
Well, that's my, that's my thing. I think where he gets drafted is more important than anything because I want him to go to a team, Uncle Ocho, where they give him the ball. Let him just play. Yeah. He going to make mistakes. He's a rookie. It's part of it. But let his learning curve be. You know, give him, give him, give him, give him some leeway, you know what I mean? Versus, you know how they do. Some of these guys, you come in and make a mistake, you got to come out and sit down. Let him, let him play through their mistakes. Let him learn through the mistakes because he got the talent.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
It all depends on where he goes. You see a guy like a Dylan Harper, he goes, what? Top three in the draft. Yeah. He comes off the bench because you got Castle and you got Wimby. So you have to be. Where does he go matters. It's going to determine, like Joe said, does he have the ball or is he a situation where. Because look at Suggs. When you got Bancaro and you got Wagner.
Joe Johnson
Yeah.
Co-host 1
Yeah.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
It is hard for you to do your thing because the office is running to those two guys.
Joe Johnson
Yeah. Yeah.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
So it all depends if he goes somewhere. Let's just say he goes to somewhere. I'm trying to figure out where he can go and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and be the guy. He can't go to the Wizards because they got Trey and ad. I mean, if you look at where the. Utah. Utah. Probably gonna want debonza.
Joe Johnson
Yeah.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Well, maybe you still got Laura marketing and you got, and you got Triple J.
Joe Johnson
So it.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Where can he go? I'm trying to think of teams. I know where you pair with Jai. If he goes to Memphis, do you pay him with John?
Joe Johnson
That's what I was gonna say. Nah, I don't want to pair him with Job, but I think they gonna get off of job. And you might want to replace.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
They might be.
Joe Johnson
I don't really want them to go to Memphis, man. I ain't gonna lie to y', all, man.
Co-host 1
What's wrong with Memphis?
Joe Johnson
I just don't want him to go to Memphis.
Co-host 1
Ocho, that's right down the street from you, though.
Joe Johnson
Nah, I know, but I want him. I want him to go to Memphis.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
He wanted. He wanted. He wanted. He don't know if. If Memphis is. Is. Can set him up for success.
Joe Johnson
Yeah, I don't. I really don't. I'm gonna be honest with you.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
They.
Joe Johnson
They didn't trade it. They traded away JJ and gave away so many great pieces. Bangs Brooks like. I mean, nobody know what they doing for real.
Co-host 1
You don't.
Julian Edelman
They.
Co-host 1
They over there rebuilding. They trying to get the right.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
You got Kyrie coming back and you got Cooper flag.
Joe Johnson
Yeah, it's.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
I mean, Sacramento. You put him in Sacramento, they might. They're gonna be okay, but they're not winning no games. Yeah, he can now. You put him in Sacramento, you let him lead, he's probably gonna. He probably gonna average 20.
Joe Johnson
Yeah. Oh, yeah. Yeah. You put him in one of them situations. So he gonna go off. They might not win a lot of games, but he gonna show his talent. He gonna have his talents on display, man.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
So that's that. That is. It is so important. A cup. Finished the game with 36 point score, 12 of the Razorbacks 15 in the final five minutes of regulation. He also had six assists to join Chris Paul as the only freshman to begin the NCAA tournament career with a consecutive 20.5 assist game since freshmen became fully eligible to play in 1973. Joe, Arizona take care of business against Utah. Acuff lead Arkansas over the Wildcats in the Sweet 16. Can Acuff take down Arizona? Because Arizona at one point in time was ranked number one this year. Yeah, they got a solid squad, so they're gonna have the handful.
Joe Johnson
Hey, this here where it gets sticky right here, fellas. You hear me? But, but, but if I. If I. If I'm correct now, I know my bracket got Arkansas winning it, don't it.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
You do?
Joe Johnson
Oh, okay. Okay. Well, I don't think we need to talk about nothing now. I got Arkansas winning. We.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
We.
Joe Johnson
Hey, hey, hey, hey. It ain't nothing personal. It ain't nothing personal with Arizona, man. It's just business. You know what I'm saying? Like, we. Yeah, we got some business to tend to, and we just a couple people in our way, man. All right.
Co-host 1
Hey, Joe, you Feeling good by that.
Joe Johnson
I'm feeling great, Ocho. What you talking about?
Co-host 1
I feel you. You know, Arizona nice over there, huh?
Joe Johnson
Yeah, we nice too. Did you not see?
Co-host 1
Oh, yeah. Hey, I. I see you. But you know, you're gonna need more than a cup now going against them Giants, man.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
It's okay.
Joe Johnson
It's okay. Somebody else will step up, Joe.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Y' all got. Y' all had four guys in double figures. You didn't get much. The problem is, Joe, the thing is, what concerns me about you guys is your bench. You only got two points, and basically, like you said, you play seven guys. You play Wagner, he played two minutes. He played 22 minutes. And Sealy played one minute.
Co-host 1
Whoo.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
You can't afford to get anybody in foul trouble.
Co-host 1
Yeah.
Joe Johnson
Hey, we go ahead. Our starting center, he nicked up, so he may even come back next game. Ewan Ewing, he comes off the bench. He gave us 14 and 12 tonight. Now, he's been starting since the tournament started. He's been playing great. He's been playing unbelievable. But our true center comes back. I think he'll probably play the next game, considering that we'll probably have, what, at least a week off, right?
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Yeah. Yeah. Y' all probably played next. Probably next Thursday, next Friday.
Joe Johnson
Yeah.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Joe Johnson
Yeah. We're in a good. We're in a good place, man. We get back home, make sure the boys get some good rest. Make sure we work, though. We gotta put in that work. We can't. You can't exhale. You hear me?
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
No.
Joe Johnson
Hey, hey, hey. I can see it, man. I can see it. I know you. I know you on Ocho. Can't see it, but I can see it. I see it.
Co-host 1
Hey, I can see it, Joe. Hey, on my bracket, who. I had to win the whole. Who win the whole thing.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
I think McNee State.
Julian Edelman
Come on.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
You got Arizona.
Co-host 1
Don't do me like that.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Who I got Arizona to pick to win the whole.
Co-host 1
Yeah, it's gonna be. It's gonna be a good one, Joe.
Joe Johnson
Oh, yeah. This would have rubber meets the road right here. O Joe.
Co-host 1
Yes. Yes, sir.
Joe Johnson
They gotta win first before they can come see us. They gotta play you them boys. Hey, what they. Who they play? Utah State.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Arizona do Arizona played Villanova.
Joe Johnson
Villanova.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
No, Utah State. Yeah, this is my. Yeah, I lost this one. Yeah. Utah State. Utah State. Hey, Utah State better than you think. Hey, they showed me something.
Joe Johnson
Oh, yeah. Hey, look, look, look. Y' all talking that smack. Cause High Point was better than what I thought. I know Utah stayed pretty good.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
They better.
Joe Johnson
Hey, yeah, them guys out there, babe. Hey.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
They got a whole lot going on. There ain't no party. Can't be a whole lot of party.
Joe Johnson
There ain't no alcohol.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
So they can't do that again. They can't do that again. Study and play sports.
Joe Johnson
That's it.
Co-host 1
That's it.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Nebraska beats number number four. Nebraska beats number five, Vanderbilt. 74, 72. We almost had an all time buzzer beater guys from Tyler Tanner. But the half court bank shot goes in and out. It was just, he hit it so hard. But Nebraska hangs on and they're going to the Sweet 16. 74, 72 Fred Hoiberg, Nebraska Corn Huskers 28 and 6. Takes down the number five Vanderbilt Commodores 20. That was 27 and 9 and this game was going back and forth. Vanderbilt had to leave for a while and I was like, okay, Vanderbilt might do it. And then here come, here come the Corn Huskers.
Joe Johnson
Vandy. Nice, bro. They play hard. They had a great year. They had a great year. This year they were five seed. I hate the SEC team lost. I like for the SEC teams to continue to keep dancing, but I think I had been. Did I have, I think I did have Vanderbilt.
Co-host 1
Nebraska came out on fire, boy, man. But them first. What I think what, but eight, maybe eight or 10 points. They were getting money, getting money, hitting all, every, everything was falling.
Joe Johnson
And that's what it seemed like too. When you play in them environments, bro, it's like you got teams and guys who play way above their head and you like hold on bro, you wasn't even on the scouting report.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
I mean I'm trying to figure. Well, I can see, I can understand why Nebraska because if you look at it first of all, the game really shouldn't have been this close.
Co-host 1
Yeah.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Because if you think about it, Nebraska shot 56 from the floor, 47% from the three. Yeah, they made 70% of their free throws. They didn't get out. Rebounded. They had more assists. They did have four more turnovers. Yeah, I, I, the game really shouldn't have been this close.
Joe Johnson
Nah.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Because the other team shot 41% from the floor, 35% from the 3 and 58% from the free throw line. I'm trying to figure out how the game come down to a two point ball game.
Co-host 1
Tanner tanning and brother nickel, man.
Joe Johnson
Hey, Tanner got some game. He be getting to it.
Co-host 1
Yeah, he nice.
Joe Johnson
Yeah, that was, that was a great game. That was a great game.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
It was, it wasn't, it's, I mean, because these are not matchups that we would normally see. I think one of the things that. Look, we love March Madness because the unpredictability.
Co-host 1
Yeah.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
You never know what's going to happen.
Joe Johnson
Right.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
But we also get matchups that we never see.
Joe Johnson
Absolutely.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Now we. So now we don't have to speculate because it's automatically assumed what this team is in this conference. If they play that team, this Midwest, that team, they would win. You automatically assume that. But this is why you line it up. This is why you throw the ball up in there. This is why you kick the ball off, and this is why you send someone to the mound, because you don't know what's going to happen. Right. And it's one game. It's not a series. It's not the best three out of five, it's not the best four out of seven. It's not the best two out of three. It's one game. In a one game, it's not who is the better team, who plays the best on a given day, on a given night that determines it. And we like to see this because I like to see, I like to think my team has a chance.
Joe Johnson
Yeah, yeah.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
And in one game they do.
Joe Johnson
Yeah, absolutely. Absolutely. This is why this, this is why people pay so much attention. Because, you know, even though a team may be a higher seed than you, them seeds really don't really matter, bro. Now when they throw that ball up and we get in between them lines and we start competing, it's gonna be your will versus mine.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Oh, I got Arizona. I got Arizona advancing. I got Arkansas.
Rob Gronkowski

Co-host 1
but wouldn't. Wouldn't the brackets look like now, huh?
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
It ain't looking good. It ain't looking good. Yeah. If Arkansas continue to win, Joe, it's gonna be hard for us to catch, Joe.
Co-host 1
Hey, wait, who? You, me and you.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Both of y'. All. Both of us?
Co-host 1
Oh, no, no. I don't know about that.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
He already substantially headed. He got Arkansas because he. Think about it. Ocho, you got Arizona cutting down the nets. If Arkansas beats Arizona, you got no chance to win the national title.
Co-host 1
Yeah, okay. Hey, hey, Joe, listen. It ain't nothing personal. It's just business, okay? I. I'm going. I'm going for the Wildcats.
Joe Johnson
Oh, man.
Co-host 1
Look, hey, listen. Hey, listen. Hey, I. I love you like a little brother, man.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
That's how you act.
Co-host 1
Hey, no, I'm just saying, this business ain't nothing personal. This ain't nothing personal.
Joe Johnson
This is what you did to me on Monday and you come back on
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Saturday, what you gonna do?
Joe Johnson
Yeah.
Co-host 1
Hey, hey, hey, listen. Hey. Like. Like. Like they say. Like they say, you never think about the past. You always worry about the future.
Joe Johnson
Okay?
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Huh?
Joe Johnson
If you dwell on the past, that mean you ain't doing nothing in the present.
Co-host 1
That mean you treading water.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
I got you.
Co-host 1
I got you. I mean, you treading water. You got. You got to be going.
Joe Johnson
Hey, look, I knew you was an OP from day one, though.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Damn job.
Joe Johnson
I knew you was an OP from day one. I ain't gonna even sit here and hold you and act like I'm. See, I know. I already know you kind. I know how you move I know how you operate.
Co-host 1
Yes, sir. Yes, sir.
Joe Johnson
So it don't surprise me that you're going against the grain.
Co-host 1
Yo, I'm not going against the grain. I'm trying to win my goddamn bracket.
Joe Johnson
Joe.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Number 11, Texas, takes down number three, Gonzaga. About the score, 74, 68. Texas with four guys with double figures. My ties, Pope, Swain and Cody all had double figures and points. They overcame Graham, Ike, Ike, I guess. How you say? His name is Iker. Ike. How he overcame. They overcame his 25 points. The difference. You know, bench points played a role, but it was a good game. Texas played well. I didn't, I didn't, I didn't. I mean, watching Texas a little bit this year, yeah, I was like, ain't no way they beating Gonzaga.
Joe Johnson
Yeah, I ain't think so neither. They're another SEC team or team that I've seen play a few times this year, especially against my Razorbacks. I didn't see this neither, guys, but they played well. This is why, like I keep saying, we in March. Neutral site. Yeah. No home court advantage.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Yep.
Joe Johnson
Season don't matter.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
I mean, both teams took care of the ball. Texas had five, turnover, Gonzaga had seven. The rebounders were very close. 34, 29. And in Gonzaga's favor, assist was close. 21 to 20. Steals were five to four. Blocks was two to one. Offensive rebounds were nine to four, nine to five. Excuse me. So, I mean, you get a close ball game, so it was the type of game that we thought we would get. But I didn't think Texas, you know, given up their. Their health to scale to the up and down season. I didn't see. I didn't see. I didn't see Texas playing this well and winning this ball game.
Joe Johnson
I ain't either. But you look at that field goal percentage on 52 Texas.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
That's.
Joe Johnson
Hey, hey, Uncle Ocho, I don't care who you playing, you let him shoot 52% from the field, you're gonna lose a lot. You're gonna lose the majority of them games, brother.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
That's why I was surprised about the other team. They shot, well, what you call them. We see why they won. They shot 56 from the 4. 47, 43. And I was like, how. How was the game even that close for it to come down to a heat that could have also lost you the ball game? Who does Texas play next? They play the winner. Miami Purdue. Should be a good ball game.
Co-host 1
Miami Purdue.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Miami Purdue. Should be a very, very, very good ball game. Texas has 11 NCAA tournament wins of the double digit C, the most of any program since the seating began in 1979. Okay, 1979. Everybody knows that's the bird magic that was in. I think they ended up playing in Salt Lake City. What put. That's what really put it on the map. The NCAA championship madness on the map. Prior to that, ain't nobody care. Yeah, but you know what you got? That was a couple of years after Roots came out and you had everybody pull for this guy and everybody pulling for that guy.
Co-host 1
Hey, hold on.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
A couple years after what Roots came out.
Co-host 1
Oh, but. Oh, boy, you bringing back some good memories, boy.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Yeah, Ruth, it didn't bring about some good men because they had a lot of fights in high school after these people.
Co-host 1
Yeah, oh, yeah, yeah.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
I know. They like, hey, I don't know why y' all put that on. Y' all causing problems in our neighborhood.
Co-host 1
Yeah, hold on. We had to watch it in class. You watch yours in class?
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
We watched it at home. Then we ain't watching. Boy. Boy, they had to cancel school. Boy, there was so many fights going on.
Co-host 1
Yeah, yeah, yeah, we had to watch. We had to watch.
Sponsor Announcer
Yeah.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
You talking about watching the class. The last thing. They didn't want you to watch it at home.
Co-host 1
It was history class, too, for me.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Huh.
Co-host 1
And then obviously we had to watch it. It was not series. What do you call them? Multiple.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
There was a miniseries.
Co-host 1
Mini. Yeah, yeah, okay, miniseries. So we had to write. We had to write a paper on it. And, man, listen,
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Dude, blast. TCU about a score of 81 to 58 is the tale of two halves for Cameron Boozer.
Co-host 1
Yeah.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
In the first two minutes. In the first two points, he was 01 on field. In the first half. Two points on 01 field goal. And plus the minus. Plus, minus a minus five and 15 minutes. In the second half. He was 17 points on seven or nine shooting plus 20 in 19 minutes. Joe, he got it going in the second half, and as you can see, they had it going. They didn't need him to do a whole lot, but I mean, they shot 55 from the floor. They shot 87% from the two point the free throw line. Excuse me, 20 of 23 from the free throw line. Because they're so big, man. They're tall.
Co-host 1
Huge, boy.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
I mean, hey, they get offensive rebounds, they get put back. You ain't got no choice but to foul them. Yeah, and the horn frogs were overmatched. And, man, booze is something. Hey, he's something.
Co-host 1
He started off slow, Uncle Joe. Yeah, but, boy, he made cam Boozer made that thing look so easy in that second half.
Joe Johnson
Yeah, yeah.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
I, I think the problem is, is that when you, when, when he's struggling, you gotta put some separation between you.
Joe Johnson
Yeah.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
You can't be down right. And he's struggling like he's struggling. He's giving you 22 and 10 on the season. You got him to two points. You better. Hey, you better be. And you better. You need to be in front of them by about 6 to 10 points.
Joe Johnson
Yeah, I agree. I agree. What, What I noticed was glaring for me is that, you know, he, he averaging what, 20. What are you averaging? 22. 22 again, 22 and 10. Even though he only had two points in that first half, Uncle Ocho, it wasn't like he was like 1 for 8, 1 for 9, you know what I mean? He, he finished 7 for 10 from the field, so he was patient. And in the second half, he turned it up. Man, that's poise from a young guy, young freshman who I think is gonna have a tremendous pro career. I mean, he a monster down there, bro.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Yeah, he, you know, he got the body type. Hell, he already built like his dad.
Joe Johnson
Yeah.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Yeah, he already built like booze.
Co-host 1
Hey, you think he better, he better than Pops at this stage?
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Coming out right now? Yes.
Joe Johnson
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Right now. Yes. Now will he be a better pro? I don't know. Bruce was an all star.
Co-host 1
Yeah.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Turned himself as a second round pick. End up getting a big time deal from Utah.
Joe Johnson
Yeah.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
I don't know what he'll be. Will he be better than his dad? But if you were to project him right now, if you look at them right now and where they. He definitely better than his dad as a freshman?
Joe Johnson
Hell yeah.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
That didn't come out. But as a freshman? Yes. Is he a better college player than that? Yes. Will he be a better pro than his dad? That remains to be seen. Right. But this kid can flat out there play.
Joe Johnson
Yeah, he can play. It ain't. It's nothing flashy about his game. Like, ain't nothing gonna jump off the screen.
Co-host 1
Yeah.
Joe Johnson
Kind of on like on some Tim Duncan type stuff, you know what I mean? Like, he just get it done, bro. It may not look as pretty to some, but it's effective. It's effective.
Co-host 1
Yeah.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Yes. And. But Duke, I mean, you get Malik Brown gave you 12 and you got. Sar gave you 14 and Evans gave you 17. Even Kaden Boozle, who had an outstanding game the first round, he gave you nine.
Joe Johnson
Yeah,
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
they got 10 points. I mean, they, they, they shoot depend on the bench. It's those starters that you have to worry about.
Co-host 1
Yeah. Everybody was in double figures except one person.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
And so that's what. That's what you have to worry about with Duke. They come at you that the. Look, convince those guys to play together because look, all these guys are four and five stars.
Joe Johnson
Yeah.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
All these guys were the guy at their prospective schools.
Joe Johnson
Yeah.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Now, for the greater good, we need you to sacrifice. Yeah, it's a lot easier said than done.
Joe Johnson
Oh, yeah.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Because everybody thinks they got an opportunity to be a damn lottery pick a top five pick.
Joe Johnson
Hello.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
I can't be no top five. I can't be no top 5 pick. You know? You know, I need. Hey, let me get. I need to get me like 15 and 10. 15 and 8, 20 and 8. And you talk about share the ball. Hey, nah, nah. And you know, some of these guys, Joe, probably averaged 25 and 15, 30 and 8.
Joe Johnson
What you talking about?
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
In high school.
Joe Johnson
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. But that's the difference. That's the difference. See, in high school, you can be the best. Cause you might be playing with less talent, you know what I mean? Once you get to college, power five, bro. Everybody on the team talented.
Co-host 1
Yeah.
Joe Johnson
You know what I mean? The cream gonna rise to the top. But for the most part, I just feel like when you get to college, you can kind of see the separating factor of a lot of guys, you know what I mean? Guys who really got that it factor. Yeah, they start to show it and it shows up in. In close tight games, bro, and you get a cut.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
You gotta. You gotta. You go to Duke, you was. You was a guy in college, you hear me? Yeah, they just. I mean, just like anytime you go to these big time, you go to Ohio State, you go to Alabama, you go to Georgia, you can play in high school. You're a damn good high school player. Yeah, they ain't just giving no. No arbitrary. Look, they might have a one or two guys that they did a favor to for this big booster. Somebody got a legacy scholarship or something like that. Right. But for the most part, they top 80 guys.
Co-host 1
Yeah.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
They legit.
Joe Johnson
Yeah. Yeah.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Well, you. Obviously you don't have that many guys in basketball. These guys can play.
Joe Johnson
Oh, yeah? Yeah.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Ain't no. Ain't no one star. Walk on. He come out there on senior night and his dad said, I'm proud of your son. You stuck it out for four years.
Co-host 1
Yeah.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Hey, dude.
Joe Johnson
Hey. You don't get that no more. And look, hey, you think you.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
You think You.
Joe Johnson
You think you gonna come in here and it's gonna be smooth selling them dudes put in work? Uncle Ocho, we did a training camp when I played for the Brooklyn Nets. We did a training camp in Duke. And, man, they got a NBA facility, bro. This ain't no. This ain't no. No peewee stuff. You hear me?
Co-host 1
Yeah.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Look, the guy. You go. You go to those programs. You know why you go there?
Joe Johnson
Yes.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
I can get a great education in a year.
Co-host 1
In a year I'm trying to get to.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
That ain't trying to be. You not gonna stay there long enough to graduate. Now, you might eventually go back and take online classes and get your degree, but you ain't getting no damn degree in no one year.
Joe Johnson
Right? Right.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
You look at all them guys. They one and done. Kyrie, one and done. Cooper, flag, one and done. Zion, one and done. Ingram, one and done. Tatum, one and done.
Joe Johnson
Yeah.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Hey, one and done.
Co-host 1
I got one for you.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
It ain't like it used to be with Christian Laitner. They stay in four years. Grant Hill, Thomas Hill, all those guys. It ain't like that no more.
Co-host 1
Yeah, it was different.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
That guy's gone. I'm coming to Duke. You know why I'm coming? Because I remember. Hey, I remember the coaches talking about I. They mess up your program. I ain't. I ain't. I ain't recruiting no one and done. Okay? Right. John said I take them all. Coach Cal said I take them.
Joe Johnson
All right?
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Can't beat him. Join them.
Joe Johnson
You right.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Hey, son, you wanna be one of them? Come on.
Joe Johnson
Right. Hey, you gotta be the gateway to the league. You got to fall in line, you know, you got to keep up with the Joneses. These young dudes ain't trying to be in school no more than one year, whether they tell you that or not.
Co-host 1
Yeah. You got to be special, though.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Now, I just left folk. I just left school for four. I just Left school for 12 years. I was in school. How long you think I wanna do this another. I'm trying to get this thing. I'm trying to be. Hey, I'm going to class until after. Until after the new year. When the new year hit, I'm done.
Co-host 1
Hey, Uncle Joe.
Joe Johnson
What's up?
Co-host 1
But who the best to come out of Duke? But who the best Blue devil to come out of there, play at the next level?
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
You talk about just as a college player.
Co-host 1
Yeah.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Chris Leitner.
Joe Johnson
Chris and Laner. Yeah.
Co-host 1
Damn, y' all answered that fast?
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Yeah. As a college player. Now you talk about who transitioned and Became a pro. That remains to be seen. Probably. Grant Hill had the highest ceiling. Right. But he got hurt. Cause Grant could do it all. He was LeBron before LeBron. A guy that's 6 foot 8, could handle the ball, could play.
Joe Johnson
Hey.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Could initiate the offense, was an outstanding defensive player, could score the basketball. He was gonna be sensational. Obviously, injuries robbed him of that. Yeah, but as a college player, it ain't even close. Ain't nobody at Duke close to Christian Lake.
Co-host 1
I got a question. I got a question. Obviously, we know what Kyrie can do in the NBA. I didn't watch college. I didn't watch college basketball back then. So how far was Kyrie from what he is in the NBA? As opposing we was at Duke, was he far off or. You could already.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
You got to realize Kyrie got hurt. Kyrie only played like maybe 15 games.
Joe Johnson
Yeah, that's it.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Yeah, he got hurt.
Joe Johnson
He got hurt. He hurt his foot, Ocho. He got hurt and still win number one.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Yes. That's how special he was.
Co-host 1
Oh, yeah. Okay, okay, okay, okay.
Joe Johnson
Yeah, yeah, but he. But when he played now he played in the second half of the season, Ocho. Now he's out there getting. Getting money. He wasn't out there bull driving now.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Yeah, man, y' all need to stop. What happened as a college player? What? Nobody close to Christian Lake.
Co-host 1
Wait, who?
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
They're a college player. You can make a case that Christian Layton is a top five college player of all time. Yeah. Back to back national championship. They took down the mythical team in a unlv.
Co-host 1
Yeah.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
I don't know if y' all remember that Saturday when they went up, when they played lsu. Do y' all remember what they did to the Fab Five? Man, y' all better get that man his credit. I'm not saying what he transitioned into. I'm talking about as a purely college player.
Co-host 1
The chat said no.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Yeah. They talking about Grand Hill. Grant Hill was the second option to Tristan Laitner. Bobby Hurley was the second option. Thomas Hill was a second option. Although Crystal Laitner and the shot that he hit against Kentucky.
Co-host 1
Oh, yeah, I remember that. I remember that.
Joe Johnson
I know. He real. He was real. He was real. He's real.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
No, Christian Laker was really good. I couldn't stand Duke. That joker there.
Joe Johnson
Nobody could stand. Dude. Hey, hey.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
But you know that dude there. Now, if you talk about, like transition, like the ability, he wasn't fast. He couldn't jump. But that joker just did everything right, man. That joker back door. You up and under, get you and one got you big and foul trouble like damn.
Joe Johnson
Yeah.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Yeah. Somebody beat them.
Joe Johnson
Yeah, A Ocho.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
And what happened when UNLV beat them? Beat the brakes off him in the national championship and then the next year they come back and I bet damn if they didn't beat. They didn't beat. They didn't beat UNLV in the national championship because we knew that was going to be the next. That was the national championship right there.
Co-host 1
Yeah.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
And then he followed up again and got it back to back. Yeah.
Joe Johnson
Yeah.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
My. When the last time you saw NZ team go back to back. Hell, Duke might have been the last team to go. Florida.
Joe Johnson
Florida. Florida. Al Horford. Florida.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Florida. Florida what? 0607.
Joe Johnson
Yeah. Yeah. That's hard to go back to town.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Had Joachim Noah, Corey Brewer.
Joe Johnson
Yeah, they had a nice, they had a nice squad.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Yeah, it ain't it, man. It's hard to go. It's hard to go back to back in college.
Co-host 1
Yeah.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Especially it ain't like it used to be where guys actually stayed all four years, Right. Them guys gone. I won a national championship and I'm the guy. I mean for Florida, for, for, for Al Horford and Keem and Brewer. For them to come back and try to do it again. Yeah, boy, they must. Hey, they really love the college life guys, you hear me? Most of them guys, they gone because
Joe Johnson
they weren't even getting nil back then. They all.
Co-host 1
I mean, for what we know, man,
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Yukon went back to back, right? Did Yukon go back to back?
Joe Johnson
Did it?
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Yeah. So Yukon went Back to back 23, 24. Florida went back to back what, 06, 07. And then did anybody go back to back in the 90s other than Duke?
Joe Johnson
Nah, my Razorbacks, they went to the championship game back to back. But we lost to UCLA in 95.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
95. Yeah. That's when they had the Obama boy.
Joe Johnson
Yep, yep.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
And ties Edney, right?
Joe Johnson
Yep, yep. Yeah, you know a little something something, don't you? That boy be locked in over there on it.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Yeah, man. You know y' all had Todd Day and Cortis Williamson. Y' all had a lot of little quad though.
Joe Johnson
Yeah, they had some hard working boys, boy.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Yeah, but hell, Coach Richardson, you had to have no choice but to be hard working. Yeah. Houston Number 2 Houston Cougars beat Texas A M 88 57. The Cougars freshman Chris Sinac Jr. Continued to play well, finished with 17 points, nine rebounds as they out rebounded the agates 46 to 29 and Big 12 defense. All defensive selection Emmanuel Sharp that my Cousin put together 18.9 he ain't got the E on his name. Cougar's Force Agatha. 11 turnovers and just 35% shooting. Hey, coach Sampson got them boys playing now. They. Hey, they play.
Joe Johnson
Did Texas A and M leave they game at home? What the.
Co-host 1
I mean, hey, Joe. Hey, Texas A, they couldn't get nothing going. They. Damn. They ain't had nobody no goddamn double figures except one person. They only.
Joe Johnson
Hey, I'm gonna tell y' all something. You right. Coach Sampson be having them boys rolling.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
They play defense.
Joe Johnson
That. Why do you see Texas A and m only with 57 points?
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Them boys.
Joe Johnson
Hey, they don't play. They got some dogs. They got some dogs under that basket. Then. Nobody. I mean, they didn't. Nobody really just stand out. I know sharp play well, but Fleming's didn't really do a whole lot. That's they freshman phenom. But they gotta win.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
I mean, they know who play well, who masterpiece on mercy. He was stroking it.
Joe Johnson
Yeah, I seen. Cause the best 22 minute 12 points. Okay, he could shoot it.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Yeah, he said he could shoot it now. I mean, I. I mean, people sending me videos of this kid when he's at. I think he was in. At Notre Dame. Oh, yeah, high school. Yeah.
Joe Johnson
Yeah, I see he be out there working in LA with Chris Johnson.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Yeah, he could play.
Joe Johnson
Yeah, Houston tough. Hey, they gonna be. They gonna be there. At the end of the day, when you talk about being in the thick of it, Houston gonna be there. They relentless, bro. Yeah, they relentless.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
They on the defensive end.
Joe Johnson
Yeah.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
What the. Coach Sampson. Didn't he coach in Oklahoma? He coached the. Griffin. Did he coach Blake Griffin in Oklahoma?
Joe Johnson
Yeah, he coached at Oklahoma. He coached at Oklahoma.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
They ain't play no defense like this.
Joe Johnson
No, sir. He get. Hey, hey. And he playing. He playing 11, 12 guy. I mean, he plays 13, 14 guys.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
But the thing is, when you play, when you play that hard, you can't play them guys that many minutes. You got to have. You got to be deep, and you
Co-host 1
got to have a cause.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
You asking guys to pick up 94ft, Joe? Well, you ask an awful lot, and I understand these guys are young. They 17, 18, 19 years old. And when you know, you 17, 18, 19, you could. You. You know, you could. You could run all day. But to play in the tournament, to play, because it's such a quick turnaround, it's only a day rest in between.
Joe Johnson
Yeah, when you get.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
When you get to.
Joe Johnson
When you get to them, you know, especially like the first round, second round, they play like two games around, right? Yeah, yeah, that's tough. But when you got a week off like this, you can regroup.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Oh, you good?
Joe Johnson
Yeah. We get back to the drawing board, man. Hey, you know, feel good.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Look, you know, go back there, feel a little good. Everybody pat you on.
Joe Johnson
Don't relax, though. Don't relax. We got to stay locked in, pig. Now, it was really good.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Okay? I'm a Lockheed, Joe. I lock it on Monday. But right now, crazy.
Joe Johnson
Listen, listen. We take care of this tournament. Now, you. Hey, in June, we all be at the draft. Now, hey, hey, let's. Let's. Let's stay locked in.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Hold on, hold on. Oh, Joe, you know what I'm saying? As soon as the tournament over, I'm leaving. Agent already got Bill, got me, Got be a coach.
Joe Johnson
Hey, I understand that, but you got like, two, three more other guys on this team who can go with you now.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Yeah, you know, you was gone after the tournament. You was gone, Joe. You wouldn't. I mean, you didn't stick around in Arkansas.
Joe Johnson
Well, Chinese man one gone.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
I'm out. I was gone.
Joe Johnson
Hey, hey, I'm out of there. Listen, I did what I came to do, bro. I ain't gonna lie to y'.

Joe Johnson

Co-host 1

Chad Ochocinco Johnson
go to quarter system, though. So it was just y' all on the semester. I don't know what it's like. We had quarters. So we had three quarters.
Joe Johnson
Three quarter. I'm saying. So you went. You went to class every day, though, right?
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Every day.
Joe Johnson
Every day.
Co-host 1
Hey, that quarter system is six or
Julian Edelman
eight weeks,
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
something like that, Ocho. Yeah, because we had fall quarter, winter quarter, spring, Right? And, you know, I don't know, maybe they do now, but hbc, when I was in Savannah State ain't played for no summer school.

Joe Johnson
Oh man.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Hey. You know, I know you've been developmental studies. You might want to come to summer school and you know, try to catch, try to, you know, get ahead.
Joe Johnson
Yeah, right.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
I said, who paying for that? I said, you know, like colleges. My brother, SC paid for them to go to summer school.
Joe Johnson
Oh yeah, my brother.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Once my brother went there, my brother never came back home. Yeah, yeah, he was gone. He was gone. Paid for. Yeah, right. We ain't got no money to pay for no summer school, bro. Class is probably like the classes wasn't that much on your product, like 500, right? But if you take three class, that's $1500 and you gotta get on the meal plan, that's another two, what, seventeen hundred fifty dollars. Where we gonna get that money?
Co-host 1
That's a lot of money back then, huh man?
Joe Johnson
Hey, think about how many kids who put in that type of situation and couldn't get it done. Or just didn't have the means to, you know, to be able to even go to college, bro, but had the talent, man.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Please. Hey, hey, you better know somebody today. Hey, I don't know where you gonna get that, bro? Not no. 7. 750 in. In 1986. 87. Oh, no, I don't know, Ash. How much is 1750 back then in today's money? 1986. 87, 86, 87, 88.
Co-host 1
But that's that. Hey, hey, Joe, that's big cash back then, boy.
Joe Johnson
Boy, what?
Co-host 1
Like. Like to be able to have that to spend, you know, to pay for classes. You know what you got to be making?
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
That's $5,000 in today's money. So who got $5,000 in three months?
Co-host 1
What?
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Oh, hell no. And you got to pay for books.
Joe Johnson
Oh, yeah.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
And you know, when you want scholarship, Ocho. Yeah, you. Hey, Joe, you know, you could drop a class, man, I don't like this. F. This. I dropped this class. Hey, night classes, man. I've been. I think, man, I ain't been told, y'.
Joe Johnson
All.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
I ain't. I ain't coming back. I'm done. No, I took. I tried night class one time once. I don't know what it is. I've done took a nap. Oh, I done took a nap. I'm good. I said, man, I gotta get this nap in. I got me an hour and a half, two hour nap, right, man, as soon as that Joe start talking, you out.
Co-host 1
You out of there.
Joe Johnson
Hey, hey.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
I said, man, I went right over there to the d. To the deed office. I dropped that class.
Joe Johnson
Hey, that's cause you disinterested. Well, when you be disinterested in something, hey, it's hard to lock it.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Oh, yeah, man, look here. My daughter, she ain't on scholarship. She owns Shannon scholarship.
Co-host 1
Yes, sir.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
She dropping classes.
Co-host 1
Oh, I like Kayla. You get your money back?
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Hell, no. Oh, ain't no damn money back. You dropped no class.
Co-host 1
That's tough.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
What the hell? I said, you know what? You trying to be a professional student. I got something for you. I got something for you. You try to stay here by seven, eight years, because it's everything. Peachy. You got a nice apartment. She got her own apartment. Her brother got his own apartment. Yeah, you got. Both of you got vehicles. Meal plan paid for. Oh. Oh, no, no. You got to come up on out of here, baby. Go. Come on up out of here. Hey, yeah, but were you on scholarship, Joe? Hey, man, this playing hard as hell, man. This teacher tripping, man.
Joe Johnson
Right, right. Yeah, yeah. Hey, hey. I'm telling y', all, man. I had 23. They had me pound down 23 hours a day. When I was getting out of class, I literally had 30 to 45 minutes to get to the gym. Cause that practice about to get ready to start. Man, please. Ain't no way y' all think I'm gonna be in class all day and go straight to practice.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
What time do you start class, Joe?
Joe Johnson
8 o'. Clock.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Huh?
Joe Johnson
8 o' clock in the morning.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
I start class at 8 o'.
Co-host 1
Clock.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
8 to 9, 9 to 10, 10 to 11, 11 to 12. Go eat lunch. Practice start at 3 o'. Clock. I nap for 90 minutes. Cause we had to walk to practice. We couldn't drive to practice, so we had to walk to practice. Rain, sleep, didn't matter. You walk to practice, get dressed, go practice, walk back. Just enough time. You have like 30 minutes to eat, eat dinner.
Joe Johnson
Yeah, yeah.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Go get your school, get. Get your homework done.
Joe Johnson
Hey, hey, College is different, bro.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Yeah, but all you got to do is just be disciplined. And your time. Time management is very important in college because, you know, you got X amount of time for class, you got practice, you got, you know, homework, study.
Co-host 1
Study hall.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
That's it. We have no study hall.
Joe Johnson
No, no, we had study hall.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
We had. Wasn't going to no study hall. No. You.
Joe Johnson
You. Hey, you. Hey. Hey. You had to go to study hall. The University of Arkansas.
Co-host 1
Yeah.
Joe Johnson
You don't care if you went in there and took you a nap and sat down and read a book.
Co-host 1
As long as you in there, you
Joe Johnson
got to be in there bad.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Look here. That cost money because you have somebody overseas. Study hall. Oh, yeah, they have that joke.
Joe Johnson
They have.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
That's about a state. I'm not saying what they might not have now. I'm just saying from 86 to 89. No, no, no, no, no, no, no. And the thing was on Friday because, you know, during the season, we travel on Friday.
Joe Johnson
Yeah.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
So you got to go by, get your home, get your homework, get your work that you got to be doing. Got you. That you might have, that you got to meet. Boy, it was rough. I was like, lord have mercy, man. Hey, I said, I got. I say, man, I got to. I got to get on. Get this thing here.
Joe Johnson
Man, I remember them days.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Work out.
Joe Johnson
I remember them days. Yeah. Hey, hey.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Boy, you got to work out.
Joe Johnson
Yeah.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
I was a good student, though. I was a good student. I just didn't apply myself in High school school, same. But no, no, no. We ain't had no film study. And that was the thing. Oo, I think. I think I watched maybe two films in college. Two pieces of film in college.
Joe Johnson
Wow. Yeah.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Watcho everybody play, man. Yeah, put those on defense. Everybody play, man.
Co-host 1
Was no point in watching nothing then
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
what I think we watched. I think we watched Georgia Southern my senior year, and we watched Central Florida my sophomore year. Not the only time we watched film.
Joe Johnson
We watched.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
That was it.
Joe Johnson
Ocho, you watched film in college?
Co-host 1
Yeah, at Oregon State. Yeah, definitely. And then once I get. Once I got to the NFL, bro, I was a. I was a. I was a rat boy when it came to watching film.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
I ain't know how to watch film. What the hell I'm looking for what I'm supposed to be. I watch it like what I'm looking for.
Co-host 1
Oh, you understand? Okay, yeah, you learned what to look for once you got to the next level, though, huh?
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Once. Once they told me what I'm looking for.
Co-host 1
For.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Yeah, you know, you. Because I was a tight end. Okay, Now I gotta learn the front. You got an overfront. You got an underfront, an over front. They got four down linemen. Yeah, underfront, they got the down line and they got a linebacker on the ball, right? A three, four. They got three down linemen, two linebackers. Four linebackers, actually. They got a mic. They got a will, a sam, a mic and a plug. So, okay, now you gotta underneath, okay? He in a wide nine. He's in a cowboy, which is a slight nine. Okay? He's in the seven. He's in the five. He's in a shade. He's in a tilt. He's in a cop, man. Come on, man. Okay, Shannon, in this front right here, they like to play this coverage. Okay? Okay, so, okay, let's try to tie a coverage to a front. They don't play this coverage in the underfront. They only play this coverage to an overfront. So now I come down, I don't see a lineback on the ball. It's an overfront, okay? They told me they don't play this coverage to an overfront. Yeah, they play this coverage to an underfront. So now I got a head start on the road. Y' all say, okay, Yeah, I feel it good, Ocho. I like going to the line. Like, yeah, y', all, I know what y' all is. I feeling good about myself, ojo.
Joe Johnson
Yeah.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Then all of a sudden, they start off at an overfront, and then here come the linebacker. Walk his ass up on the line to an over to underfront. Oh, Lord. Damn, what courage. They like to run in this. This underfront. So, yeah, once I got the hang of it, yeah. I'm like, okay, I got it now. I got it.
Co-host 1
I. I didn't get it. I didn't get the hang of it until year two. Joe. Joe. You know, understanding what I'm watching.
Joe Johnson
Yeah.
Co-host 1
And once I got. Once I got an understanding of what the defenses were doing and knowing what my assignments is and understanding where the danger is.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Yes.
Co-host 1
Based on each play and based on each coverage.
Joe Johnson
Yeah.
Co-host 1
Yo, that's when the entertainment and the shit talking started, like towards the end of year two.
Joe Johnson
Yeah.
Co-host 1
That's when I started to feel a little bit more confident because it don't matter what you do. I know exactly once that ball hike. I know where every. I call it. I call it my red area. My red area is where it's dangerous based on, you know, the route concepts that we run in. So I know once that ball snap, I know exactly where each and every person gotta be.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Yep.
Co-host 1
So I can just go out there and play freely and I don't have to think.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Think.
Joe Johnson
Yeah.
Co-host 1
If I had to think. Nah, ain't dang. Yeah. I ain't doing nothing.
Joe Johnson
Hey, hey, in basketball, it's different. My. Hey, look, look. My rookie year, see, I. I wanted to play so bad. I had to know. I had to know all the commands, plays, and that was the hardest thing because as a rookie.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Yeah.
Joe Johnson
So your opportunity's gonna come. Few in between, you know what I mean? You ain't gonna get many, but the ones you do get, you wanna make
Co-host 1
them count, you gotta make it happen.
Joe Johnson
Man. Y' all should see me. They've been drew two plays up in the huddle. I come out there and like, damn. What.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
What do you say? We got Joe. That's me. Yo, that's me. Ojo. Hey, that's me.
Joe Johnson
Hey. They had to run past me ugly. Hey, come on, get over there in the corner. When you gonna go through? I'm like, oh, Ocho.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
They put me in motion. They put me in motion. I go by the quarterback, I stop what I got again.
Co-host 1
Now,
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Hey, hey,
Co-host 1
hey. But that's.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
That's funny, man. You should climb me this like. Hey, Steve, Edward want to say sharp? You know damn well you didn't know that play when you left the damn huddle. Why you let that man go through that snap, that cadence? And then you talk about he back ready to snap the ball. You talk about what you got, you know you didn't know what you had before you left the huddle.
Co-host 1
That's funny, bro.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Man, that she was. Man, that thing was so embarrassing, man. Ocho, man. Dad, I swear, I did not. I said, man, just. I said, ain't no way this man like me. This man done cussed me, done called me. I said, lord have mercy.
Co-host 1
Yeah.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
I said, I know I'm not this dumb. Why I can't remember these damn plays. They like. Shannon, we can't put you in there. Cause you don't, son. You don't know what to do. I mean, you athletic, you big, you fast, you strong, you willing, You a block. But, son, you don't know what to do.
Joe Johnson
I know that feeling, boy, I was,
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
man, I just called my brother, man. I'd be cry. I'd be crying the phone. He said, bro, what's wrong? I can't. I just can't. I can't learn this issue. He said, you putting. I said. He said, man, you putting too much pressure. Shannon, you can learn. Yeah, he's a chef. They call me Chef. He's a chef. Just. Just relax. You putting too much pressure on yourself. You're okay. Just. Hey, you remember. Think about all the stuff we memorize. Everything.
Co-host 1
Everything.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Memorize that playbook. Memorize that playbook like you memorize all those other. That.
Co-host 1
Hey, I tell you. I tell you what my grandma used to tell me. How about you memorize whatever you got to do, especially when it come to school. The same way you memorize them goddamn raps.
Joe Johnson
Hello.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Yep.
Joe Johnson
Huh?
Co-host 1
You know every goddamn lyric day. You know every. Every lyric day, every goddamn song, but you don't know what the hell you supposed to be goddamn doing in school.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Nope. You know, high school is bad. I just couldn't. Man, I owe you. I couldn't get. I was like, lord have mercy. I said, I know I'm not done. I said, I know I'm not done. Is it. I mean, I'll be playing. Hey, I'll be playing Jeopardy. I pretend I got the clicker. I'm stopping. I'm getting them right. Guessing the man told me to play. I can't remember the damn play. But, boy, once you get it, let me get the place.
Co-host 1
Yeah.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
The mistake that they made is that I had. I, I. I was able. Because what got me, though, is that Ocho, you know, they move you around. Yeah, okay, I'm a Z. But I also got to learn slot, and now I also got to learn the X. Yeah, you see, you have to understand Ocho, the tight end. Is X in Dan's offense? It's not Y, right? So now the Z receiver is a wing. The Y is the X receiver. Come on, man. This don't make no sense. Everybody know the why is the tight end, right? The Z is the receiver to the tight end side. And the X is off the. Is on the ball, on the weak side. Why you do all this? Say whatever, man. Y' all don't want me to play. That's what y' all do. Y' all change this. Cause y' all didn't want me to play. I'm coming up with every excuse, guys. Why I can't learn this? Damn. He did the damn playbook.
Joe Johnson
It's too many plays, bro.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Man, you ocho tell you, Joe, what they install on Monday?
Joe Johnson
Yeah.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
What you don't get, they gone to Tuesday.
Co-host 1
Yep.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
What you don't get on Tuesday, they go on the weekend, they go Thursday, they go on the Friday, they go on the Saturday. And then they gonna come back and put some up Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday into Sunday.
Co-host 1
Hey, you don't. Don't fall behind now. Don't miss a day, boy. It's gonna be hell. But one thing about it, Joe. Once you know what you're doing, once you comfortable with the offense, you know you've been with. You've been with a team for a year or two or may. Yeah, you comfortable, and then you can play freely. You don't have to think. You just recall, boom, he called that play. You come out the huddle and you already got a plan in your head on what you got to do based off what they put out. What they put out there in front of you.
Joe Johnson
Yeah, man.
Co-host 1
It's one of the greatest.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Michigan State beat Louisville, 7769. Jeremy Fears cemented his place in Michigan State history as the Spartan march on to the Sweet 16 with a win over Louisville. With 16 assists, Spears became the first Big Ten player in the last 50 years with 27 dishes over two games in the NCAA tournament span, passing Magic Johnson 25 in the 1979 Sweet 16 and the Elite Eight. Fears, 16 assists are also the most by a Big Ten player in an MCA tournament game in the last 50 years.
Joe Johnson
Michigan State look good. They did. You know, Louisville is missing their freshman phenom. I forgot his name. He gonna be a. He probably gonna be a top 10, top 12 pick, Uncle Ocho. Yeah, he didn't. He didn't play. He hadn't played in the NCAA tournament for whatever reason. I like Michigan State. Cause they play hard and they hang the hat on defense, they gonna scrap.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
That's always Izzo staple you.
Joe Johnson
There you go. You know, Izzo, they, they, they. They take on the mantra of the coach, bro. They play hard. They scrappy. You know, they don't give up nothing easy. They got great guard play, which could take them a long way. But I don't know, offensively, they don't really have that, that, that, that. That scoring power that you need to kind of advance. I think they play great defense, but when you play against some. Some great guards.
Co-host 1
Yeah.
Joe Johnson
Game gonna be a lot different.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Yeah, man, that car, he got some ups. Oh, he's looking to flush everything. Hey, he looking to. He looking to poke on everybody. Don't. Hey, okay, now, like, you gonna block somebody gonna be on his poster.
Joe Johnson
That man scratching his back with that basketball. You hear me? Yeah, he's scratching his back. Yeah, he nasty. He nasty. He nasty. He can get up. He can get up. Michigan State look good, though.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
They look good.
Joe Johnson
16 assists. That's. Hold on.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
That's a lot of assists in college.
Joe Johnson
There ain't no record or nothing.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
No, I don't think so. What's the most. What's the NC record for assist in the game? Yeah,
Joe Johnson
damn.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Well, you know the NBA record is 30 by Scott Orlando.
Joe Johnson
Yeah. You think somebody. Yeah, one game. Somebody gonna pass that one day, though.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Oh, 19 in a tournament game. Joe. Who had that?
Joe Johnson
Who has it?
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
I had no idea. I don't know. Who have no earthly idea. Yeah, well, Rondo was close. Rondo had a couple of 24. I think Rondo had like a 26.
Joe Johnson
Yeah, you gonna. Hey, you gonna have to have some boys who can fill it up who playing with you. I know that.
Co-host 1
They gotta be able.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
They gotta be able to shoot, Joe. They probably take you out. What's that? They probably take you out. Cause you gonna have a big. You get. Once you get like 20 assists, you probably blowing somebody out, Joe.
Joe Johnson
Yeah, I know, man.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
You probably slow by.
Co-host 1
Unless everybody. Shots falling though, huh?
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Yeah,
Joe Johnson
yeah. Unless you come down and you got about 15, 16 in the first half. Assist. Yeah, I'm going for it. Then you got to get off to a great start, man.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Yeah, the thing, the difference in the ball game. I mean, Michigan, Louisville went to the free throw line four, six times, and Michigan State went to the free throw line 19 times. So you got a plus 10, you got a plus 10. Just don't just on file shots. Yeah, yeah.
Joe Johnson
Louisville shorthanded. It's just.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Yeah.
Joe Johnson
Tournament time, man. If you ain't Full strength. Them weaknesses gonna get exposed real quick.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Yeah. What Michigan beat St. Louis. The Billikens. The Wolverines had nine blocks. They're most in the NCAA tournament game since blocks were first tracked in 1985. 86. And the Billikens were out rebounding 42 to 27. Lindenberg scored 25 points. What they call him to something. LeBron, what they call Lindenberg. But they came the first Michigan player with 25 plus points and no turnovers in the NCAA tournament game since Glenn, man, Glenn, man, I don't even want to talk about Glenn Rice because, man, that joke got so God dog on. Hot Joe Ocho enjoyed 1989. Yeah, because that's when they ended up firing their coach because he took a job and he wanted to stay on a coach. And Bo Schim Beckler, who's an athletic director, said, nah, we want a Michigan man to coach a Michigan team. And so they gave it to the assistant coach. And man, that's when they had Glenn Rice and Terry Mills. I think Romel Robinson was on that team also.
Joe Johnson
But boy, Robinson, he went off cooked every.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
I think he averaged like 30 in the tournament.
Joe Johnson
They. They ain't winning. Did he?
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Yes.
Joe Johnson
Did he?
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Yes. Yeah, they called him the Dominican LeBron. That's what they call Linden. Lindenberg, the Dominican LeBron. Michigan now has the first Big Ten team to record back to back NCAA tournament games with 90 plus points since winning the title in 1989.
Joe Johnson
Yeah, Michigan got some boys over there.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Boy, look at what Boy, because I was. Because I was a Tar Heel fan, man. They cooked. They cooked the Tar Heels. That's when they had Junior Reed.
Joe Johnson
Oh, okay, okay. You see that boy out there? Seven three, man.
Co-host 1
Ain't a boy tall Joe for Michigan.
Joe Johnson
Yeah, man. Yeah, Michigan look good.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
They glare, right? I mean, he couldn't miss. Joe and Ocho. It's like every time he shot the ball that ish went in, it was cash.
Joe Johnson
Now he can fill it up.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
He was cooking.
Co-host 1
Who that, huh?
Joe Johnson
Glenn.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Glenn Rice at Michigan.
Joe Johnson
He can score that ball now.
Co-host 1
Miami Heat. Glenn Rice, huh?
Joe Johnson
Yeah.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Yes. Charlotte Hornet. Glenn Rice. I think he ended up playing with the Lakers too.
Joe Johnson
Yeah, he won a championship with the Lakers. Yeah.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Yeah.
Co-host 1
Oh, Glenn.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Steve Fisher was the coach. He ended up. He was the coach for also with the Fab Five.
Joe Johnson
Oh, Steve Fisher was. Yeah. What conference? What conference St. Louis in?
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Glenn Rice averaged 30.3.
Joe Johnson
Damn.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Hey, he would, Joe. I'm telling. He would cook it, man.
Joe Johnson
You know how hard that is to do in college, man, Average them type of Points in college.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Yeah.
Joe Johnson
That's hard, bro.
Co-host 1
Well, you. You got. You got to be one of them special ones, though, huh, man?
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Even if you special, the average 30o because they zone you.
Joe Johnson
Okay?
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Like the NBA. You got. You got. Now they allow you to play zone a little bit in the NBA. He was 30 and 10.
Joe Johnson
Damn.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Oh, he was cooking. I'm telling. He would cook it. If anybody as old as I am, bro, Glenn Rice cooked. But I think, if I'm not mistaken, I think it took Ramil Robinson to put back. He ended up. They ended up. I think they beat Seaton hall for the championship. But, hey, Michigan. Michigan was cooking, folks. Oh, there you go.
Co-host 1
Hey, I'm waiting on. They got chat.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
GPT doing everything else. Selling houses and all kind of stuff, man.
Co-host 1
I'm waiting on that hurricane game tomorrow.
Joe Johnson
Okay. Well, Ocho do got a lot of green up there, though.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Yeah.
Co-host 1
Yeah. What you would. Hey, Joe. I told you, Joe. I told you I'm coming. Y' all were making fun of me, talking about I'm picking mascots. I know what I'm doing. Now. I don't watch it much, but I know when it's time to win and compete, I'm gonna do my due diligence.
Joe Johnson
Me and you. Me and your next game gonna be a telltale boy. Cause Arkansas play Arizona when we put y' all out, you might well pack your bags, homeboy.
Co-host 1
Hey, I told you, it's nothing personal, Joe, I'm. I'm not your op. I'm your brother. I'm not. Listen, I'm a brother from the cloth.
Joe Johnson
Hold on, man. I got that man so far in my review mirror, man. Stop playing.
Co-host 1
Okay?
Joe Johnson
For real.
Co-host 1
Okay.
Joe Johnson
Boy, if it wasn't for me having BYU going so far, it ain't gonna be a landslide. For real.
Co-host 1
You'll see. I ain't. You know what? I ain't gonna do too much tongue wrestling. You hear me?
Joe Johnson
Okay.
Co-host 1
I ain't gonna do too much of that.
Joe Johnson
Okay. Okay.
Co-host 1
I don't do too much of that.
Joe Johnson
Okay. Okay.
Co-host 1
We'll see.
Joe Johnson
Well, I was on that. I was on that treadmill today on that woodway. Getting. Getting my cardio, right? I had.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Yeah, I was on that. What you call them. I was on my bike today, too. I'm about to get me a. A ski erg.
Joe Johnson
I had them. I had them. I had them £10 in my hand while I was running.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
And I was there.
Co-host 1
Are you throwing them things?
Joe Johnson
Yeah, just shoulders.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Just getting.
Joe Johnson
Getting them. Shoulders. Right, right, right.
Co-host 1
Cause you know, you know, you know them shoulders to burn out real quick now.
Joe Johnson
That's why I'm training. That's why I got my own little 247 going on.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Okay?
Joe Johnson
And you go.
Co-host 1
You're gonna need more than that.
Joe Johnson
No, no, no, I'm good.
Co-host 1
Listen, but you're gonna need about six, seven, eight months now.
Joe Johnson
Hey, you remember. You remember Big boy and Mike Tyson? Punch out who that Big Bob Bull?
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Hey, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Joe Johnson
I got something for you.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson
I got something for you.
Co-host 1
I'm ready for it, Joe. I'm telling you, whatever you throw. Whatever you throw, I'm gonna see it. I'm. I'm catch it. I'm gonna catch it for you, okay? Whatever you throw, I'm gonna catch you with. I'm gonna catch it with my hand.
Joe Johnson
Okay?
Julian Edelman
All right.
Joe Johnson
I got you. I got you, brother.
Co-host 1
I'm just telling you, man. You know, it's what I do. You know, Joe, you got to understand. I have a history and background in combat sports. Joe.
Joe Johnson
Yeah.
Co-host 1
You feel me?
Joe Johnson
Okay.
Co-host 1
