Happy Thursday. Welcome to Scrolling with Haley. I'm Haley Carnia. Democrats are above the law. They say nobody's above the law, but then the laws are conveniently not applied to them. This goes for Sunny Hassan's son who was detained by police. This goes for illegal aliens in New Jersey who are granted the right to vote thanks to a glitch and a transgender who threatened to kill Congresswoman Nancy Mace. They are getting away with a slap on the wrist. I say they because I have no idea which way they're coming or going. This is the world we live in, folks. Plus, I'll get into the surrogacy drama surrounding a Fox News host and more. But first, I want you to subscribe to this show. I want you to tell a friend about this show. I want you to watch. The show starts now. Everyone remembers this moment from the View, right when Sunny Hostin was jumping for joy over President Trump's felony charges, saying nobody is above the law. Watch.
Sunny Hostin
I mean, you can't commit so many crimes and think that you are above the law even if you are the President.
Haley Carnia
So keep this same energy, Sonny. When your son is detained by police, her son Gabriel was detained for criminal trespassing on private property. This is back in June, but the body cam footage is now available of that incident. But despite saying that nobody is above the law, here is Sunny Hostin on body cam defending her son. Regardless, misdemeanor charge.
Officer Gomez
We're done. To be down to a violation. Okay, I know you're upset. We just do it as a deterrence. Because again, like I explained to you on. On the phone, besides being illegal, which is far from the subject, it's dangerous.
Haley Carnia
My mom's a lawyer, by the way.
Officer Gomez
That's okay. What's your name?
Haley Carnia
What's your name, sir?
Officer Gomez
I'm Brian Rhyme.
Haley Carnia
Is that Your badge number?
Officer Gomez
2814? Yes. Yes. So the reason we're stopping you. This is trespassing right here.
Haley Carnia
Oh, I'm sorry.
Unknown Speaker 1
The.
Officer Gomez
The.
Haley Carnia
It was open over there. I was just walking on a run here.
Officer Gomez
Where are you coming from? All the way over there?
Unknown Speaker 2
Yeah, yeah.
Officer Gomez
Okay.
Unknown Speaker 2
I saw.
Haley Carnia
I just looked open for me, so I just walked in.
Officer Gomez
So this is considered trespassing. It's criminal trespass. Reason why it's such a big deal. People get hit by a train all the time. We want to prevent it, obviously. Can you please hold it for you?
Haley Carnia
Yeah, my mom. The phone's at 2% if. FYI. Here you go.
Unknown Speaker 2
Okay.
Officer Gomez
So, yeah. So this is your trespassing, a big deal. We don't want people to get hit by a train, which is why we came running over. Okay. Do you have any idea on you? Yes. Okay. Do you. Where is it?
Unknown Speaker 1
It's.
Haley Carnia
It's in my phone. If you take off the case, tell them your mother is a federal prosecutor.
Unknown Speaker 2
Yes.
Officer Gomez
Hey, mom, how are you? This is officer Gomez, your son's final. Officer Gomez, how are you?
Unknown Speaker 1
This is.
Unknown Speaker 2
This.
Sunny Hostin
This is.
Officer Gomez
Yes.
Unknown Speaker 2
Okay.
Haley Carnia
He's a Harvard graduate. He's not a criminal. He has no criminal record. No criminal history.
Officer Gomez
Yes, yes. No, no, I understand that. The issue is, like I told your son, is this is considered criminal trespassing. So besides being illegal, it's actually very dangerous for him to be around the railroad tracks. You know, I mean, we get people that get hit all the time.
Haley Carnia
Let's get my mom on the phone.
Officer Gomez
Of course he is.
Unknown Speaker 1
And.
Sikh Man
Hey, mom.
Officer Gomez
Hey.
Unknown Male Commentator
So he said that.
Haley Carnia
Can I grab my phone?
Officer Gomez
Absolutely, go ahead.
Unknown Speaker 1
And if.
Haley Carnia
And if the phone dies, can we call?
Officer Gomez
Absolutely.
Haley Carnia
So, yeah, just tell her.
Officer Gomez
Ms. H. Officer Gomez.
Haley Carnia
Hi, Officer Gomez. I'm about four minutes away.
Officer Gomez
Okay, that's fine. So I just wanted to give you a heads up. So I am going to be Writing your son what's called an appearance tick. I'm sure you know what that is. I'll explain everything. Where he has to report all that stuff because it is criminal trespass. Where he was. It's normally enough. Hold on for one second.
Haley Carnia
He had to call mommy.
Officer Gomez
A misdemeanor. Obviously, we're cutting it down to the violation because he. Listen, he's. There's nothing on his record. He's been very cooperative with us, but as of right now, we will have to issue him the appearance ticket.
Haley Carnia
Officer, is that really necessary? This is a kid that doesn't do anything.
Sunny Hostin
He's a Harvard graduate and a Yale researcher. He teaches geometry to.
Officer Gomez
I. I understand that.
Sunny Hostin
Why would you put something on his record like this?
Officer Gomez
No, no, it's. It's not. It's not even. It's not anything criminal. He just has to appear. I'm dumbing it down to a violation. That's all it is. So it's not a misdemeanor. It's just going back down. I'm writing him literally for the 140.05. It's a trespass violation. He would have to appear, which is inconvenience. I understand that, but with all due respect, ma', am, I still have a job to do. And we have to deter people from being on the tracks because.
Haley Carnia
Again, I understand, but what I'm asking of you is once a prosecutor, once a judge gets this, all he would
Sunny Hostin
have to do is pay a fine. Anyway.
Haley Carnia
What happens if you didn't do it?
Officer Gomez
What do you mean?
Haley Carnia
What happens if you're like, I would
Officer Gomez
like to write this? Well, you know, we have cameras everywhere. If we didn't see you, somebody would have called it over.
Unknown Female Commentator
Correct.
Haley Carnia
She's around the corner. She's gonna show up.
Officer Gomez
I hate to say it's like my partner said, our hands are tied. It is what it is.
Haley Carnia
Mommy's on the way. Don't worry. Mommy's on the way. She's on the way. This is crazy, honestly. First of all, every time Sunny has. You could hear Sunny hosted on the. On the phone, and she's saying, I'm a federal prosecutor. I'm a federal prosecutor. I heard it three times. The video is even longer. I mean, how many times you have to say this? If you turned this into a drinking game and you took a shot. Every time Sunny Hassan said, I'm a federal prosecutor or name drops Harvard and Yale because her son, I guess, went to Harvard and is a Yale researcher. I mean, how many times you have to Say that you would have to get your stomach pumped.
Unknown Male Commentator
Was he researching the train tracks?
Haley Carnia
Well, no, he's a. First of all, he's a Yale researcher, but he, he teaches geometry to children.
Unknown Speaker 3
Whatever.
Haley Carnia
I. This is not what this is about. But Harvard and Yale have nothing to do with criminal trespass. Nobody cares where you went to college. But this is Sunny Host and flexing her privilege, and she hates white privilege. Right? But here she is doing the whole, do you know who I am? Do you know what I do? Do you know where my son went to school? You know, he's trespassing, but my son is different. He's committing a crime, but he's not a criminal. He. He's above the law. And again, this is. He walked somewhere he wasn't supposed to walk, right? It's not like he robbed a bank, but the law is the law. Right? And you could hear the cops on the video on that body cam saying, listen, we think your son is a good dude. Like, he's all right. But we have to set a standard where we don't want people walking on the train tracks because it's dangerous. Like it's criminal trespassing, but it's also dangerous. And we have to go through this process to make sure that people learn a lesson to not do this, and they have every right to do that. Of course, we want police to uphold the law, and people should follow the law. And then just yesterday on the View, Sonny was talking about how Republicans were holding this hearing on the Smithsonian going woke, and they questioned some of the curators and historians about whether or not they are rewriting history and doing all this DEI and woke nonsense. And here is Sunny Hostin talking about that. And this is what she has to say about their rewriting of history and what she thinks Republicans motive is behind this hearing. Listen, I think the reason, the real
Sunny Hostin
reason behind this is about financial repair to the descendants of the enslaved Africans.
Officer Gomez
Say what you mean, so you can
Haley Carnia
say so people understand.
Sunny Hostin
Yes, preparations. I think this reflects a really broad effort by the Trump administration to reshape the way the nation's history is told so that this country does not have to pay black people for the forced labor and the unpaid labor that built this country. I really think that's what this is about. If you look at Project 2025, that's what this is about.
Unknown Speaker 3
Follow the money.
Sunny Hostin
Because even after 250 years, there is so much repair that needs to be done when it comes to aggrieved groups in this country, but especially African Americans. Let's face it. When you have truth and reconciliation commissions, and you've had them when it comes to the interned Japanese Americans, you've had them. When it comes to the Holocaust, you've had them. When you come to Native Americans, it has not happened. Truth and reconciliation commissions when it comes to slavery. And that is because they're trying to bury the truth part. You cannot have true reconciliation, and then you cannot have true freedom, financial repair unless you have the truth, and they're trying to erase that truth.
Haley Carnia
Okay, so you'll notice in the beginning of that clip, Sunny's sort of, like, pussyfooting around this thing where she's saying, well, you know, we have to repair this. And Whoopi starts egging her on, like, no, no, like, say reparations. Say what you want to say, you know? So then she goes on to say that she thinks Republicans want white people to get out of paying reparations. Reparations are ridiculous. So, yes, I don't think that white people who have nothing to do with slavery should have to pay for their ancestors, whether or not they were. They owned slaves or were descendants of slaves or not. But Sunny is. She had a historian dig up some dirt on her family, her history, family. And it wasn't so squeaky clean, was it? Here she is finding out that she comes from a family of slave owners.
Sunny Hostin
Watch some surprising revelations about my family history. You know, I was really reluctant. I don't know how you. When you did it, Whoopi, But I was really reluctant to do it because I just sensed that there could be something in my family history that would be disappointing.
Unknown Speaker 2
Negative.
Unknown Speaker 1
Negative.
Unknown Speaker 3
Yes.
Sunny Hostin
I thought I was gonna have that kind of moment. And Skip had asked me to do it for a long time, and I finally decided to do it because I thought it'd be helpful for my children and my children's children to know what their real history was, you know? But what I found out was that my mother's family, while they are Puerto Rican, they actually originate from Spain. And the reason that they moved to Puerto Rico is because the slave trade had been sort of canceled in Spain and then Curacao, and then they moved all of their slaves to Puerto Rico. And so the family business. I had been told that they were printers and journalists, but they were, in fact, enslavers. And my mother fell over. The audience was deeply disappointing.
Haley Carnia
I love this. The crowd sort of has this, like, low mumble, like, oh.
Unknown Male Commentator
And she says, deafening. It was like a Seinfeld episode.
Haley Carnia
Just, oh, it's so funny. She's like, oh, this was really disappointing to find out that I thought that my family were journalists, but it turns out they were slave owners. It's like, whoa, that's some revisionist history if I've ever seen.
Unknown Male Commentator
Not close.
Haley Carnia
Not close at all. So Sunny, who's. She knows that her family were slave owners. And she's still pushing this idea of reparations, like, but I guess she thinks that she's immune because she's not white by her own standards. She thinks that black people deserve reparations from the descendants of slave owners. So I think she should set the example. You first, Sunny. Pay up. Be the change you wish to see in the world. And it's too bad she doesn't live in Chicago, because Mayor Brandon Johnson, he is going to put forth reparations. He's throwing this out here for anyone who witnessed an ICE raid.
Unknown Speaker 1
Watch, I believe the most relevant ballot referendum question around receiving reparations for communities that experience that hardship. And whether that was on the west side of Chicago with a black man being placed in an unlegal in an illegal chokehold or long guns being stuck into the faces of women and children, zip tied and thrown in vehicles, kidnapped, shot at. I mean, police officers, tear gas.
Unknown Speaker 2
Right.
Unknown Speaker 1
And so the updated policy, in the spirit of my executive order, there's stronger alignment to create a pathway for accountability.
Haley Carnia
So he wants reparations just if you live in the vicinity of ICE activity, he thinks that you deserve financial compensation. For what? And also, do you have to prove that you saw an ICE raid, or is it traumatizing enough to just know that they're happening in your area? What's stopping people from saying the ICE raids in Chicago are traumatizing them even if they don't live in Chicago, can they collect?
Unknown Male Commentator
I'd write a letter.
Haley Carnia
Hey, this is really traumatizing. I know that what's going on in the area. And, you know, maybe you do have to prove that you're a. A Chicagoan. And then how would you do that? Maybe an ID perhaps with an address on it, or, you know, maybe like
Unknown Male Commentator
a student ID or an Olive Garden
Haley Carnia
never ending pasta pass.
Unknown Male Commentator
I don't know. There's a lot of identifications out there.
Haley Carnia
No, there. There are. So I guess it's just for Chicagoans who witness justice being served and they can get paid for it. I don't think that's traumatizing at all. I think it's just watching the lobby upheld. Maybe it's traumatic for the people who break the law and they don't want to face the consequences of their own actions. But I don't really care too much about that. I care about safer American streets. But leave it to the Democrats to turn criminals into sympathetic characters and to demonize the people upholding the rule of law and then to pay the people complaining about it with taxpayer dollars. It's just absolutely insane. And then over in New Jersey, we now know that illegals are voting in elections. We already knew that this was happening, but this is just more proof. You know, the Democrats love to say, oh, that's never happened, and no, that would never happen, and the system can't be manipulated and none of that. But then all of a sudden it happens, and it's just one of those, you are here. You know, we say that something's happening, the Democrats deny it, and then we find out that it's true six months later. And then this is the cycle of conspiracy theories that aren't really conspiracy theories at all. But take a listen to the new New Jersey governor, Mickey Sherrill. She's talking about how there was a software error that allowed 400ish illegals to vote. Watch.
Unknown Speaker 3
We're here to share information I learned of a few days ago. In June of 2023, nearly three years before I became governor, a serious software error in New Jersey's motor vehicle system led to the improper voter registration of what we believe to be roughly 66,600 people in our state. When New Jerseyans applied for a driver's license or identification at the mvc, they were asked if they wanted to register to vote. In the case of this error, some individuals indicated that they weren't citizens and weren't eligible to vote, but the software registered them anyway. The error in the software was corrected a year later in June of 2024. That is more than two years ago. I learned of this last Wednesday, and I immediately ordered my chief counsel to launch a comprehensive investigation. Currently, the Division of Elections is working to ensure anyone who is illegally registered is removed from the voter rolls. Initial analysis shows that fewer than 400 newly registered individuals voted in an election due to this software error.
Haley Carnia
Great. Notice how the DMV software didn't randomly glitch and make 6,000 people organ donors.
Officer Gomez
Whoa.
Haley Carnia
It glitched and registered 6,000 illegal aliens to vote.
Unknown Male Commentator
Indeed.
Haley Carnia
You know of anything that could have randomly glitched and happened at the dmv? It was just like illegals getting the right to vote. It just seems like. Oh, it doesn't really seem like it was a glitch at all. It seems like that was totally intentional. And they say that less than 400 of them voted. This apparently happened under Phil Murphy's administration, and apparently the state of New Jersey realized the error, fixed it. And now, Mickey, Cheryl is announcing something that happened two years ago, and she's going to launch an investigation into it now. But based on what you just said, and this is barely getting covered in the news, by the way, obviously conservatives are covering it, but if you search Phil Murphy, barely anything comes up. Maybe some local stuff, but on the grand scheme of things, the mainstream media is really not touching this. And Phil Murphy has not made a statement on this fraud that occurred under his administration. He has to answer to this. And by the way, President Trump warned about this in his primetime address last week that the Department of Homeland Security was investigating and had identified approximately 278,000 noncitizens registered to vote in federal elections. And they found that these extra illegal votes were in California, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Nevada. So it seems like New Jersey is the first sanctuary state to get caught. And Governor Sherrill probably got a kick in the pants to make things right, even though it wasn't her administration that was behind it necessarily. But that's probably why we haven't seen some of these other governors raising their hands to expose this fraud, because it was happening under their noses and they probably didn't care, a la Tim Walls. You know, all of this fraud is exposed under his administration. Then once it's exposed, it's like, oh, oops, sorry, I have to take, I have to take some time away and step back and get to the bottom of all this. You should have been getting into the bottom of it before. But you're only sorry that you got caught. You're not sorry that it's actually happening. But it just seems odd that New Jersey apparently knew that this was happening. They remedied the problem, didn't tell anyone. Now the new administration's in there, and now they're telling us. Only after President Trump warned about it and said that there was a DHS investigation. Now New Jersey is going to do their own investigation. Shouldn't you have done the investigation when you found out that it was happening? They didn't care. And over on cnn, Abby, Phillip doesn't seem to really care either. She doesn't really see why this is a big deal. She's actually defending the illegals who voted. Watch. They're trying to defraud the system. They're, they, they might have cast a ballot because they just weren't aware that they were in. Incorrectly put on the voter roll.
Unknown Speaker 2
They weren't aware that they weren't a
Haley Carnia
citizen of the United States. No, they said in this instance that they weren't citizens.
Sunny Hostin
They were still.
Haley Carnia
Is this accurately described as fraud when none of these people tried to register to vote? Yes, they cast ballots. 400 of them cast ballots. They had to actively go do that. I assume no one voted in their name.
Sikh Man
Maybe they did.
Unknown Speaker 2
I don't know.
Haley Carnia
They actively cast a ballot, did they not? What I want to put. An illegal alien gets put on the rolls, however they got there and cast a ballot.
Sunny Hostin
But you.
Unknown Speaker 3
But you.
Haley Carnia
Sounds like voter fraud to me. Knowledge that some people might actually be. Because this has come up in courts, in courts before, where some people who are ineligible to vote are not aware that they're ineligible to vote. Okay, so they just didn't know. They just didn't know that they were illegal. They didn't know that they weren't supposed to vote, so they just went to go vote anyway and they were magically granted the. Their wish.
Unknown Male Commentator
They accidentally woke up, accidentally went to the poll, accidentally voted, and it accidentally went through. Yeah, tons of accents.
Haley Carnia
I know. It's just crazy. And Abby, Phillip is saying, so what if 400 people voted illegally? Okay, well, if 400 people voted illegally in New Jersey, then this kind of fraud was clearly taking place in the three other states that the DHS knows of. But that could be thousands of votes, and maybe it wouldn't have overturned the results of the presidential election. But especially in local elections, this matters. I mean, it always matters. But I'm saying this amount of votes can overturn an election. In a smaller election, we will have people who are not citizens of this country making a difference in the political landscape and dictating the lives of American citizens. That's what Democrats want. Because they assume that with all the freebies that they're promising them that they'll, you know, do their. You know, they'll. They'll pay them back by voting Democrat. The people that we elect to office are supposed to serve us and our needs. Not every want and desire of the illegal aliens, though. They've probably gotten very used to that princess treatment thanks to the Democrats. And it seems that they don't care about the rule of law unless they can weaponize it to get Trump. If not, whoever is a Democrat is above it. And I want to talk about Congresswoman Nancy Mace and the threats made against her by a transgender who is really not seeing much justice at all. A trans. This is by Redux Redux magazine did this piece and this is what they said. A trans activist had avoided prison after threatening to murder Congresswoman Nancy Mace. Samuel Roxy Kane, so this person goes by Roxy, was first arrested in May 2025 after he posted to X I'm going to assassinate Representative Nancy Mace with a gun and I'm being 100% dead ass. Yesterday, Kane was sentenced to five years, suspended to 30 months of house arrest. So instead of five years in prison, he will serve two and a half years on house arrest. And if he's a good boy or girl or whatever the hell he is, he won't serve any more time. And while he's on house arrest, he can't make contact with Congresswoman Mace and her family. He also has to undergo a psychiatric evaluation and comply with treatment plans. He has to wear a GPS monitor at all times. And he must apply to at least three jobs per week until he is gainfully employed. So you can threaten to kill a sitting congresswoman and her family and the court system will just want to make sure that you find a job. He can try Starbucks. Maybe the DNC is hiring, or maybe Harry Sisson needs a masseuse. But I don't really know who would want to hire someone who would threaten to kill a sitting congresswoman. Absolutely insane that this is where political violence has gotten us in this country. We're in a very scary place where you can threaten to kill people. And in this wave of assassination attempts on President Trump, of course, the assassination of Charlie Kirk, tragic. And this just keeps happening. It's not enough to just disagree politically. They have to kill their opposition. Very scary. And it just seems like the rule of law. I don't know who these judges are, but it seems like they don't care that there's someone who intends to murder someone based on political affiliation. They're just going to be on house arrest. And, you know, we just, we just hope that they get a job. Something tells me that being on house arrests and getting a job at wherever is going to remedy this person's deep seated hatred for the other side. Big controversy out of Fox News. We must talk about Guy Benson hosted the Guy Benson Show. He's a radio host and he's also a contributor. He posted this on Instagram announcing the birth of his daughter. This is what he said. She's here and she's perfect. We are blessed and overjoyed to welcome Madison Halsey into the world and into our family. Our hearts are filled to the brim. A baby girl. We are just so thankful 71526 born of the same day as a very beautiful and hilarious podcast host. Also very humble, but just saying good day. Good day to be born. And so this baby was born and this is their second child that they've welcomed via surrogate. And Guy Benson is married to a man. And this announcement has prompted swift backlash from the conservative community. Megan Basham, she's a journalist and author. She wrote this on X. Benson is an incisive pundit, but there is nothing conservative about deliberately creating motherless children. I pray Benson and those like him on the right would consider what they are telling the world about how unnecessary they believe mothers, or if we're talking about two women, fathers are to the needs of children because that is what they're declaring when they create these children through the surrogacy process, that mothers and fathers serve no specific purpose. And Guy got a lot of positive feedback from his Fox News colleagues because obviously people are going to be nice publicly whether or not, whether or not they believe in surrogacy personally or not. It doesn't bode well. You know, you got to play well in the sandbox, you know, if your colleague is welcoming a baby into the world, however, which way you say something nice, obviously. So there were a lot of comments there of people in the conservative movement saying, you know, congratulations, happy for you, whatnot. And on that post that Megan posted, Kennedy, who's a Fox News business host and FOX News contributor, posted this. Bless your heart, Megan, while you're at it, go replace the batteries in your vibrator. That comment that I just read to you, Kennedy said, go replace the batteries in your vibrator. Which is an odd way to say, hey, you know, that's my friend you're talking about. Like, you know, be nice or whatever. Absolutely. So vile and unnecessary. And Megan's criticism is completely valid. And Megan, class act responded to Kennedy saying this. Kennedy, I'm a huge fan and I think you're an incisive political pundit, too. But I believe that children need what both a mother and father can offer. Sometimes tragedies make it impossible to fulfill those needs. And we make the best accommodation we can in tragic cases. But it does not mean we make the tragic exceptions the rule of if. My belief that the most fundamental thing that conservatives must conserve is the natural family and that a child has a right to a mother and a father earns me the iron of Fox News, and so be it. This is where I stand. And I can do no other classy response from Megan. And Megan is Completely right. When two gay men find a surrogate they are paying to rent a uterus, they use a woman's egg, whether that's the surrogate's egg or. Or they find someone else's that's implanted into the surrogate, and then they use that woman's womb. They pay her handsomely, and then she F's off. And the child never meets their mother. In other cases, the child never meets their father. I have a friend who's a lesbian. She and her wife used a sperm donor. Their baby will never meet its father. And that's the case with closed adoption. Also, children who are adopted are also ripped from their biological parents. And I get a lot of heat. You know, the last time I talked about this, I said that adoption, adoption can cause those feelings of abandonment, too. We see this all the time. Children aching to meet their biological parents. It doesn't mean that their adoptive parents aren't wonderful and angels on earth they are. But there's still that biological want and need. And I think it's very sad. I think it's very heartbreaking. And we covered this on the show. I think it was last week. We showed a video of an egg donor who got a DM from someone on Instagram saying, I think you're my mom. I really want a relationship with you. And the egg donor was like. Like, you're just an egg to me. And I. I got my money and I don't want anything to do with you. How heart wrenching is that for that child? Heart wrenching, absolutely. That their mother wants nothing to do with them. It's bizarre. Like, the whole concept is bizarre. And I understand that this is a delicate topic, but it's the truth. That doesn't mean that I think adoption is bad. I think it's a wonderful gift. The point is, once the baby is brought into this world, the only thing we can do is pray that the child is happy, healthy, and has a village. Because I don't have to be personally supportive of surrogacy to want every child to grow up in a happy home. And even if you have a biological dad or mom, you can grow up in an unhappy household. There's no. There's so many different scenarios, right? And even if a child doesn't have a biological mom or dad for whatever reason, hopefully someone else, a family member, a friend, can step up and fill that void. This, by the way, applies to all types of families, not just gay couples. There are children who grow up without their mom or dad because they walked out they're addicts. They died tragically. Should we encourage these kinds of situations? No. When it's a tragedy like death and you can't predict it, you do what's best in the moment for that child. Haley Carnia
Let's get into scrolling. Have we done a scrolling time intro this week? I don't even think we did.
Unknown Female Commentator
No.
Unknown Male Commentator
This is a special occasion.
Haley Carnia
Yeah, seriously. What the heck? I forgot who I am. We're back to our roots today with the scrolling time because yesterday was a super scroll. So the whole show is like that, but it feels good. I almost. I missed a little. My little shoulder dance. All right, this first video. This challenges the issue of religious freedom. I mean, should we extend religious freedom to everyone or are there implications? Here, watch this.
Sikh Man
So you're kicking me out of the gym right now? Wait, you're kicking me. You're kicking me out of the gym right now because you are scared that I'm gonna take my religious symbol. So you're. You're scared that I'm gonna take this religious symbol and kill somebody?
Haley Carnia
What I'm saying is you have a weapon on your person. A member has brought it to my attention, and for the safety of me and everybody else in the gym, I'm asking you to leave.
Sikh Man
But. Well, I don't understand, though. I don't understand.
Haley Carnia
We're a private gym. We're allowed to deny access and you're not allowed.
Sikh Man
But you allowed me in that. You. You allowed me in the gym with the sun. Oh, you didn't see it? So you didn't see it? No. So what were you doing then?
Sunny Hostin
So.
Sikh Man
So what do you do? What do they pay you for?
Haley Carnia
I'm not responding.
Sikh Man
They don't. They don't pay you. They don't pay you to look around. They don't pay you to be aware. You just let any random person in the gym. Then you didn't see me walking with
Haley Carnia
this harassing me, right?
Sikh Man
I'm not harassing you. I'm standing right here. I'm not harassing anybody.
Haley Carnia
This is the police officer.
Sikh Man
This is like insane. Getting kicked out of the gym because these guys are apparently saying that this curfon is dangerous. Good life in Windsor. Good life in Windsor. It's crazy.
Haley Carnia
So the kirpan is a ceremonial sword or dagger that seeks wear at all times. So in this video, if you're listening and not watching, there is a Sikh man and he is, he has this dagger on his chest and he's wearing it in the gym during his workout. And in the United States, because religious freedom is protected. There are accommodations for these knives, these swords, these daggers. And this is the only religion that requires its followers to carry a weapon on them at all times. So now we get into the debate of when can you restrict someone's religious freedom. Is there ever a time where you're allowed to do that? We allow religious freedom. We allow the citizens the right to be armed and defend themselves here. But there are also instances where you can't do that because safety comes first. You know, people can't bring their firearms into an airport, onto a plane without it being checked. And, and going through these processes. You can't bring your firearm into a bar where people are drinking alcohol. There are limits to this. So are there limits to religious freedom as well? And this guy is saying, well, I'm not going to do anything wrong with this dagger. Like you think that I'm going to hurt someone, but I'm not. But at the same time, you know, people have firearms on them. Let's just say that, like you go into a bar and you have a firearm on you, that could potentially save a life in a shooting type situation. A lot of shootings happen at bars or whatnot. And you know, if, or a concert and people carry out acts of violence like that because people are unarmed, you know, but those are instances where you are not allowed to bring a weapon.
Unknown Male Commentator
I'm confused why he then got mad at her. You didn't notice that I had this on then what are you doing? Like what?
Haley Carnia
Yeah, that was strange too. Like you didn't notice that I walked in with this. Like now you have a problem with it. It will it not so much. When I noticed it, it's that you have a weapon on you and this woman doesn't know his intent. Like my, my point that I was getting at with the bringing a firearm or a weapon into a concert or something, someone can use that for good. Someone Also can use that for bad. So again, this woman doesn't know his intent is this. Maybe she had no idea it was a religious symbol. And maybe he explains it to her again, her job is to make sure that the gym is safe. And if they have a policy of not bringing any weapons into the gym, then she's well within her right to tell him to leave. She even said in that video, we have a, this is a private business. We can deny service. We can deny your right to come in or out. So even though this sword is not supposed to be, you know, used on anyone in a, in a nefarious way and it's more decorative, was this woman in the wrong for flagging that this man had a weapon on him?
Unknown Male Commentator
No.
Haley Carnia
If the gym has a no weapons policy, then this man is breaking that policy for whatever reason. He's still breaking their policy, but he could probably fight it in a court of law. If he gets kicked out and he wants to sue the gym, it would be Jim, no weapons policy versus religious freedom.
Unknown Female Commentator
Well, no, he wasn't prosecuted at all. Like a private business, that's an assume for having a weapon. But they can't like trespass you immediately.
Haley Carnia
I'm saying, like, if this was escalated because we don't know what happened after this video, but if this was escalated and he wanted to sue the gym for denying him access for whatever reason, he could probably fight that. But at the same time, to your point, you can't bring weapons into the gym and break a private business's rules. You can't do that.
Unknown Female Commentator
So as far as I'm aware as a carrier in Florida, if it's a non governmental area, you can carry a weapon even if there's no weapon sign. But if they find out you have a weapon, they can ask you to leave.
Haley Carnia
Right.
Unknown Female Commentator
You don't leave, they trespass you. Nothing do with having a weapon.
Haley Carnia
Interesting. In Florida, I, when I lived in Tennessee, if you bring a gun to
Unknown Female Commentator
a government building, you're immediately arrested.
Unknown Speaker 2
Yeah.
Haley Carnia
When I lived in Tennessee, they would check bags for firearms at the door at some bars and they would ask people to like leave.
Unknown Male Commentator
Yeehaw. Nashville.
Haley Carnia
No, but that happened to my friend. Like she. We got to the bar and they were checking bags, she was like, oh shoot, I have my gun on me. I have to like go, oops, Classic Tennessee. Oopsies. Can't bring that in here.
Unknown Male Commentator
Yeah, the amount of guns just in trucks.
Haley Carnia
But see how, but see how she was like, oh, let me follow the rules and let me not bring my gun in here, even though, you know, I think we should be able to bring guns everywhere. But, you know, these are the rules of the bar that we were at.
Unknown Female Commentator
Right.
Haley Carnia
And they're checking bags and she knows I'm not allowed to technically have my gun here, so they're going to ask me to put it in my car or get rid of it or leave. Anyway, so she went and did that. Instead of like fighting the bar. She probably could have fought the bar. But like, why, you know, people in the chat are saying, you know, you can't go on a plane with that thing. Yeah, I don't know. I, I don't know how this was new to me.
Unknown Male Commentator
I, I, I've enter. What am I saying? I've, I've met, I have a couple seek friends and that wasn't part of their, like, they didn't do that with them.
Haley Carnia
They say that it's required, but not all Sikhs do it.
Unknown Male Commentator
Gotcha. Yeah. So this was, this was news to me.
Haley Carnia
Yeah.
Unknown Male Commentator
So I could see how that would be probably pretty jarring for somebody working in a gym.
Haley Carnia
Right. Especially because if you're not aware of these practices or you know, the ceremonial decorative dagger, that would be, to your point, very scary. Again, her job is to keep the gym safe. Her job is to uphold the laws and the, not the laws, but the rules of the gym. And, and if she thinks that someone is, is bringing a weapon into the gym. Again, he did bring a weapon into the gym. Doesn't matter if he's a good guy or a bad guy or what he was intending to do with it or not do with it. She doesn't know that.
Unknown Male Commentator
She's just a girl.
Haley Carnia
She's just a girl.
Unknown Female Commentator
Let her, let her know she's totally in the right.
Haley Carnia
Yeah.
Unknown Female Commentator
I mean, it'd be the same if he was not wearing a shirt, right? Yeah, it's the exact same process.
Haley Carnia
But, you know, is not wearing a shirt an issue of religious freedom not really matters?
Unknown Female Commentator
Literally not at all. Right, Right. She's just asking him to leave because
Haley Carnia
it's, she's, she has the authority to do that.
Unknown Female Commentator
Exactly, Exactly.
Haley Carnia
Exactly. This next one is crazy. This is like one of those advice segments that it's like, I, I really don't know what to tell you in this moment. This one's going to rock your world.
Unknown Male Commentator
Caught me so off guard watch.
Unknown Speaker 2
So ever since I found out that I married my second cousin, I kind of having a time hard time dealing with it. We have two kids together and
Sikh Man
I
Unknown Speaker 2
really don't know what I'm supposed to do. Like, do I. Do we get a divorce? Do we leave each other?
Sikh Man
Do we.
Unknown Speaker 2
What happens with the kids? They're freaking cousins and brothers and sisters. Like, what? I don't really get what I'm supposed to do in this scenario. Maybe y' all can help me out, because I'm lost. I really don't know what I'm supposed to do. If you've ever married your cousin, I mean, let me know in the comments. Let me know how y' all went about it, because I'm lost here. I really don't know. I don't know what to do, man. Somebody helped me out here.
Haley Carnia
Can't help you, brother. Can't help your brother.
Unknown Male Commentator
They find out at the wedding when everybody started dapping each other up. Hey, it's you.
Haley Carnia
Some of the charges said, pro tip. Don't pick up dates at family reunions or, like, family weddings or something. I don't know how they met.
Unknown Male Commentator
I'm bad at, like, family tree stuff. What is your second cousin?
Haley Carnia
It's the children of your parents. Cousins?
Unknown Female Commentator
Believe so.
Haley Carnia
No. You're way too. You're.
Unknown Female Commentator
I'm pretty close with my second cousins.
Haley Carnia
I love how that's strange. I love how Andrew's like, oh, it's not that bad. Okay. This guy's asking for advice.
Unknown Male Commentator
He's struggling here right next to Alabama. This happened every once in a while. They just be like, hey, you. You can't date her. Sorry, bro.
Haley Carnia
Yeah, well, this is. It kind of brings up an ethical thing where, you know, do you. I mean, do you look into this before you get married? I feel like most people assume that they're not marrying their cousin on purpose. I guess maybe some people do. I don't know. Or they try. Is this something that you have to ask ahead of time? I guess so. I've never been married. Do they ask what?
Unknown Male Commentator
Time out. Who's they?
Haley Carnia
Like, do you have to prove that you're not married? Say that again.
Unknown Male Commentator
Josh was asking. How did he just figure this out? I kind of want.
Haley Carnia
Well, the issue is that they're cousins, but to your point, it's too late. It's too late. They've already had two children.
Unknown Male Commentator
For the record. For the record, when you get married, nobody asks because it's assumed. When you get to the.
Haley Carnia
But you have to think maybe.
Unknown Male Commentator
Would they catch that there?
Haley Carnia
You have to think. I mean, this obviously is a huge deal. This is something that I think people should be asking, especially if you grow up in, like, a small. Well, I don't know, I. I'm thinking maybe this is a small town issue because there's not that many people to choose from. So I feel like the odds of incest are probably, even if you're not aware of it, are probably higher. But you would think that you would know who your family is. But then again, there are family situations where people are estranged. They don't talk to their family. Obviously, that's one of these situations. They found out that they were related after they went through all this.
Unknown Male Commentator
Well, like you said, and I have just now learned, so it's pretty close.
Haley Carnia
Why are they attracted to one another?
Unknown Male Commentator
You look like me. You narcissist me. We like all the same stuff.
Haley Carnia
They're narcissists. They want to marry someone that looks like cousin. Have you ever seen that Instagram account and it's called Siblings are Dating?
Unknown Male Commentator
Excuse me?
Haley Carnia
Siblings are Dating.
Unknown Male Commentator
No, That's a thing. I heard you the first time.
Haley Carnia
It's. It's incredible. It's incredible. Siblings are Dating is the account, the Instagram account. They post a picture and people submit couples and there's a photo of a. Either a couple or a pair of siblings. You don't know. And they always look so alike. And then you slot that, you swipe and the next slide is whether or not their siblings are dating. And you get to find out. But people in the comments are, you know, guessing like, oh, they're totally siblings. Or oh, and some siblings are weird. Some siblings, they take photos together and like the girl has like the possessive hand on the chest kind of thing. And it's like, whoa, that's something that you do with your boyfriend, not your brother. But people are weird.
Unknown Male Commentator
The high school football post game picture. Yeah, just like, yeah, Ashley. Maybe not.
Haley Carnia
Yeah, don't touch him like that. Yeah. No. And this is absolutely a thing. And you would think going on this account, oh, I'll know if their siblings are dating. You get stumped all the time. And people, the. The ones that are crazier when they're dating and they're not siblings and they look so alike, then it makes you wonder, oh, you were attracted to this person because you're looking in the mirror when you're dating them. You love yourself.
Unknown Male Commentator
I. That's cr. I do know for a fact.
Haley Carnia
Can you pull it up or no?
Unknown Male Commentator
Yeah, let me, let me pull it up over here. I do know for a fact that me and my wife are not related.
Haley Carnia
So that's great. How do you know?
Unknown Male Commentator
In case some people in the chat.
Haley Carnia
How do you know? Started like, breathing heavily.
Unknown Speaker 1
Last name?
Unknown Male Commentator
Yeah, the last name, I think, is a safe.
Haley Carnia
Yeah, but I have a different last name than my second cousins.
Unknown Female Commentator
Well, when they were inviting people to
Haley Carnia
the wedding, they weren't.
Unknown Male Commentator
Yeah, we had no crossover. We've had no crossover. There's no.
Haley Carnia
It's like, hey, hey.
Unknown Female Commentator
I was also.
Unknown Male Commentator
It wasn't like. It wasn't like a. A Marvel crossover movie where the X Men met the Avengers, and they're like, we've seen you before.
Haley Carnia
My advice to this man, you know, while we wait to bring up the siblings you're dating, my advice to him is you're in it for life. You've. You've already gotten married. You have children now.
Unknown Male Commentator
I mean, if you haven't realized after the first kid.
Haley Carnia
What do you mean? Like, there's nothing wrong with the kid, you're saying.
Unknown Male Commentator
I'm saying they got two kids together, and now he's just realizing this.
Unknown Speaker 3
Right?
Haley Carnia
You can't go back. You're. You're married. You have children now. The best thing that they can do is just make sure that their kids don't date their cousins. You know, you can't keep the incest going. You have to make sure that it stops. But at this point, like, I wouldn't. I wouldn't divorce someone. You're already married. You love this person.
Unknown Male Commentator
Unless they met, like, a random coffee shop in some random town, then got married at a courthouse, and there was no family contact for the entire period of dating.
Haley Carnia
That's what I mean. They didn't know that they were related. So.
Unknown Male Commentator
All right, I have your. I have your Instagram.
Haley Carnia
You guys are going to. You're. You guys are going to freak out.
Unknown Male Commentator
This makes me nervous.
Haley Carnia
Watch this. Okay. Siblings are dating. Click on what? That. That middle one is crazy. Look how similar they look. Okay, Are they. Are these people siblings or dating? Do you think I'll throw it out to the chat. I'm looking at this. I'm thinking they have very similar face structures. Their nose are very similar, but their eye shape is very similar. Their mouths are very similar. The only thing that's different, they have the same exact coloring. Only thing is, the guy in this photo is a little darker. They're dating. They're dating. These people are not siblings. They're dating. So then you have to wonder. You're. Oh, you're attracted to this person because they look exactly like you. These people have the same face. These people don't look alike. This is a bad example. That's a bad example. These people look exactly the Same. I would assume that they're siblings, by the way, that they're. Oh, they're dating. I'm literally always wrong. I'm always wrong. These people look exactly alike. They're dating. It's crazy. What about these people? They don't really look that much alike. I would say that they're date. They're dating. Okay, that one wasn't that bad. Do these people look alike, or is it just because they have the same shape? Glasses? I think they look alike by the way that they're hugging. I would have to say. No way. No way. I thought they were gonna. I was gonna say dating by the way that they're hugging, but again, these are siblings who are obviously obsessed with one another. It's just crazy. This couple. I mean, they have the same face, same eye color, same hair. Yeah. They're just attracted to themselves. So anyway, I just wanted to share that with you. If you want to play that fun little game by yourself, follow siblings. You're dating. Sometimes it's fun. This next one, this next video, this is an argument to abolish the Department of Education, I think. I mean, there are people in our society that are just genuinely so stupid. You have to. You just have to wonder, is the Department of Education doing anything?
Sunny Hostin
It's so cool.
Haley Carnia
I had to try and record it, but the road keeps drying before we get to it. So we haven't had to go through the water at all. I don't know if you can see up ahead, like, Right. Well, right ahead of that car. Oh, now you can see it on the side too. Isn't that cool, though? Like, it's been like that for 20 minutes. We haven't had to drive through any of that water. It just dries right before we get to it. She had no idea that there was not actually water on the ground that wasn't drying as she was drying up to it. Driving up to it for 20 minutes straight. This is someone that has just absolutely no idea how anything works.
Unknown Male Commentator
Wait till she goes to the desert and realizes that there's a water.
Haley Carnia
So one of the in the comments said that's actually the road loading in. It's why we have speed limits. If you go too fast, you clip right through the ground. Someone else said it's actually disappearing that fast because there's a guy of heading you. There's a guy ahead of you drinking it up with a long straw. And someone else said, pro tip, if you drive backwards, it comes back. And then someone else said, I used to think this when I Was a little kid, then I grew up. And someone else commented, this is. Normally when you ask for advice like this on the Internet, people don't give you the real answer. But someone did comment. It's called a mirage. And the woman who posted this video said, miracle, not barrage. I think Jesus was blessing me for some reason. He. He loved me that day. God bless this woman, bless her heart. Jesus does love you, but that's not the reason why there was water or not water drying before you got there. It was not a miracle. It was a mirage.
Unknown Male Commentator
Classic mirage, miracle mix up.
Haley Carnia
Classic mix up. All right. The next videos that I have for you are just very cute cat videos. Cat videos. Fox videos. This first one is a fox playing with a tennis ball in the backyard. Watch. Playing with himself. It says, the fox that lives behind my sister's house found a tennis ball. The fox is throwing the ball up in the air and catching it. Basically playing catch by himself. That's so cute. It's a baby, too. Isn't that so cute? I thought it was cute. This next one is a squirrel playing with a cat toy in the backyard. This woman says this is a pro tip, too. Throw a cat toy to the squirrels in the backyard. They'll play with them. And the squirrel is rolling around doing somersaults with this cat toy in its mouth. Look, he's rolling around. He loves it. He's doing little. He's like a roly polioli throwing himself around with it, jumping up and down. I mean, have you ever seen anything so cute? He's so cute. He loves it. Squirrels. That's so cute. The babies. There's a lot of babies right now, and they're very. Just a little baby. I thought that was cute. I wonder if there's catnip in it. Like a lot of cat toys have catnip in it. And it drives cats insane. I wonder if it has the same effect on squirrels.
Unknown Male Commentator
Squirrels will eat anything.
Haley Carnia
I don't know. Yeah, squirrels will eat anything. This next one is a rescue in China. Is this AI? I'm not sure. Maybe I got duped by it. But this is a cat who was stuck on some water and got rescued in China. Watch. Someone with a drone is going to go get the cat. The cat gets into the. The box that they put out for it, And up goes the box. Thankfully, the cat doesn't jump out. Look at how scary that is. This is very innovative. Then they're gonna bring the cat up to the bridge. And the cat jumps out. Isn't that cute?
Unknown Male Commentator
For sure.
Haley Carnia
Someone said it's from China. It's most likely fake. I thought it was very cute that they. They rescued. They. They love cats in that culture and they take care of them. So I thought that that was nice. Cats and horses, they get along. They're friends. Watch. Cheeky. Cheeky horse is just terrorizing cats. Cats terrorizing horses. This cat's sitting on the horse's head.
Unknown Speaker 2
I wouldn't call myself a cat guy. She's not a cat.
Haley Carnia
Don't bite his tail. Biting his tail. Cats riding around on horses. A cat's getting some.
Unknown Speaker 2
Salem.
Haley Carnia
What you doing up there, big boy?
Sunny Hostin
He's.
Haley Carnia
He's hitching the back of a horse on Sebastian.
Unknown Male Commentator
That's the ranch kitty.
Unknown Speaker 2
I'm not a cat guy.
Haley Carnia
And this is the cutest. This horse.
Unknown Speaker 3
Okay.
Unknown Male Commentator
Suede.
Unknown Speaker 2
Too much.
Unknown Speaker 3
Hey.
Sunny Hostin
Too much.
Haley Carnia
I thought that that was cute. Anyway, I do have a few questions from Instagram. I'll do a few today and then I'll do a few on tomorrow's show. Someone asked me my favorite food to cook. And if you have any questions for me, live in the chat, throw them in there and I'll try to get to as many as I can. Just make sure, because I'm not going to be reading them. So you tell me if someone asks me a question in the chat. Favorite food to cook. I love making chicken parm. I love making fried, like fried chicken cutlets. And chicken parm is my favorite food, so I like making that. You have to perfect your favorite food right, so that you can make it at home. So I like that. Someone else asked me my favorite. It was very specific. Someone asked me favorite meal. Favorite go to meal on a Friday night in working and listening to music. Oddly specific. But if I'm working on a Friday night, which sometimes I do, working on a Friday night, I'm not going to want to make something that takes a long time because I'm working, right? So if this is something easy, probably just pasta. Pastas can't go wrong with pasta. And it's easy to make. It's quick. So sometimes I do that, try to get some protein in the pasta. But pasta is probably that. Someone asked me if I would rather get dinner with Trump or Putin. What would be more interesting? I would not want to get dinner with Putin. I would be afraid that I would be poisoned or something. So I would just go with Trump based on the fact that I think I would make it out of the dinner alive.
Unknown Male Commentator
There you go.
Haley Carnia
And we speak the same language, so I think we would have a lot more to talk about.
Unknown Male Commentator
Dinner in silence.
Haley Carnia
Everybody's favorite with a. Just a murderous, horrible person.
Officer Gomez
Yeah.
Unknown Male Commentator
So what was it like committing checks, notes, Murder.
Haley Carnia
That's crazy. I'm trying to see if anyone in the chat has questions, but I don't think. I don't think anyone does. If you got another cat, would you name it Baddie? Someone said, because my cat. My cat's name is Birdie. No, I would not name another cat Batty. I am not naming Birdie Birdie because of the animal. Bird. It's the golf term. So if I got another pet. Not necessarily. I don't. I don't think I would get another cat, and I don't think on purpose I would get a dog because I don't want. I don't know. I would just hope that they would get along, and I don't know if they would, but if I did get another pet, I would want to name it along the same lines of that golf theme. So maybe Chip or Ace, I think are cute. Chip and Ace, because they go with Birdie. And my mom's cat's name is Bogey. So I. That's already taken. I can't do Bogey. And they say, oh, someone's in the chat said, haley, what's your favorite flower? I love sunflowers, and I love hydrangeas, and I like peonies. I like roses. I think they're called snapdragons. I like those, too, but let me Google it. I don't know what they're called. Yeah, I like snapdragons. Those are pretty. And, yeah, some of the cat said, how about fatty? No, I would not name my cat Fatty. I would not name a cat fatty.
Officer Gomez
That's rude.
Haley Carnia
Although Birdie is very large and in charge in the stomach department. I have to work on that. She's getting too many treats. All right, I will save the rest of the questions for. For tomorrow's show. Thank you for scrolling along with me. You could follow me on social media at Haley Karania. Second reminder to subscribe to this show, of course. And to tell a friend about it. And I'll see you tomorrow. Bye. No, no music.
Host: Hayley Caronia
Episode: 345
Date: July 23, 2026
In this episode, Hayley Caronia unpacks her belief that Democrats and their allies often operate "above the law," spotlighting recent incidents that she views as proof of double standards. From Sunny Hostin’s son's police encounter, to software glitches enabling non-citizen voting in New Jersey, and a transgender activist’s lenient sentence for purportedly threatening Nancy Mace—all are framed as evidence of systemic bias. Hayley also weighs in on reparations debates, surrogacy culture in conservative circles, religious freedoms, quirky viral videos, and audience Q&A. The episode blends pointed political commentary with cultural observations and humor.
[39:36–45:10] Accidental Cousin Marriage Confession:
[45:10–48:53] Siblings or Dating? Instagram Game:
The tone is assertive, witty, unapologetically conservative, and at times sardonic. Hayley maintains a no-nonsense, candid style—mixing cultural critique with humor and frequent asides. Audience engagement and pop culture-laced banter round out the political and social analysis.
This episode is rich in topical discussion, political critique, and cultural references—offering both pointed evidence for Hayley’s recurring theme of double standards, and lighter viral video fare for balance.
