Haley Caronia
Hello. Happy Friday, everyone. It's Haley Caronia, host of Nightly Scroll. Thank you so much for joining me on this Friday evening. I hope everyone is ready for the weekend. But first, I've got a good show for you. So James Comey, he's under fire now for a deleted Instagram post in which he called to 86 47. He used to call President Trump a mob boss and he used to prosecute mobsters in New York for years. But he claims he didn't think 86 meant to kill Trump. Sure, Jan. Then President Trump reignited his beef with Taylor Swift and the lamestream media is running with it, arguing he's not mentally fit to be president. Imagine that. Now it's Friday, so you know what that means. I am blind, reacting to your videos and scrolling time, answering your questions. It's gonna be a good one. Welcome to Nightly Scrol. This Instagram post, it came up right before my show started yesterday and I wanted to cover it yesterday, but I didn't have all the time to dig and I wanted to do some digging on this, so. And it's crazy to see how everyone's been reacting to this since. So here is the social media post. This is what James Comey, former, former FBI director, posted on Instagram, its shells in the formation of 86 47. And he wrote cool shell formation on my beach walk. Well, certainly he knew that this wasn't just a cool shell formation on his beach walk. He knew that there was a political undertone here or overtone, and he decided to post it anyway. And it wasn't just him. So Ed Krasnstein, he's basically a left wing crypto bro podcast host and basically a Twitter grifter. He also posted his own version of 8649 on X. So I want to show you that quickly. He's got a twin brother. They both, they both post on X. And here it is. So these are. Why am I blanking on what this is like? Pool balls? Is that even what they're called? No, Billiards. They're definitely not called pool balls. Anyway.
Mikey
They're totally called pool balls. You got it.
Haley Caronia
I don't know, it sounds wrong, but anyway, Ed Krassenstein posted this. It's the black eight ball, six for seven. And he wrote it's time. Then he posted an apology because now people are coming out at both James Comey and Ed Krassenstein saying, hey, you know, to 86, someone means to get rid of them or to take them out. And there's we'll get into all the different things that 86 means in just a moment. But this is what Ed Krausenstein posted on X. For the record, I am 100% against violence in any form. Stop creating bogus meanings to try and investigate your political opponents. I mean, it is ripped with hypocrisy, truly. He went on to say, 8647 means remove Trump from office. If you are creating any other meaning, you are the ones who are going to end up inciting the violence. But now President Trump is involved. Of course, this attack is on him. So he did an interview with Bret Baier on Fox, and he was asked about it. Here's what he had to say to Jim Comey. Watch.
James Comey
He knew exactly what that meant. A child knows what that meant. If you're the FBI director and you don't know what that meant, right? That meant assassination. And it says it loud and clear. Now, he wasn't very competent, but he was competent enough to know what that meant. And he did it for a reason. And he was hit so hard because people like me, they like what's happening with our country. Our country has become respected again and all this. And he's calling for the assassination of the president.
Haley Caronia
Obviously, he apologized and said he doesn't apologize.
James Comey
Well, he apologized for violence, but look, he's a very big.
Haley Caronia
What do you want to see happen? What do you want to see happen?
James Comey
I don't want to take a position on it because that's going to be up to Pam and all of the great people. But I will say this. I think it's a terrible thing. And when you add his history to that, if he had a clean history, he doesn't. He's a dirty cop. He's a dirty cop. And if he had a clean history, I could, I could understand if there was a leniency, but I'm going to let them make that decision.
Haley Caronia
So he's going to let Attorney General Pam Bondi and others make the decision about how they're going to handle James Comey. But James Comey put up an apology on Instagram. So let's just go through this. He said, I posted earlier a picture of some shells I saw today on a beach walk, which I assumed were a political message. I didn't realize some folks associate those numbers with violence. It never occurred to me, but I oppose violence of any kind, so I took the post down. Well, he took the post down because he's sorry that he got caught. It's pretty obvious that 86 has violent meaning, whether it's, you know, and certainly if you use 86 to, you know, the restaurant industry, industry uses 86 to take someone to take something out or to get someone out of a bar to, to get rid of someone. So, sure, maybe it means, you know, impeach him or get him out of office. But James Comey has an interesting history prosecuting mobsters. And in the mob, to 86, someone means to take them eight miles out of town and put them six feet under. And James Comey knows about the mob. He also spent a very long time calling President Trump and others in his cabinet a mob boss and mob like. So listen to this.
James Comey
Is it for you to sit here and compare the president to a mob boss, very strange.
Bret Baier
And I don't do it lightly. And I'm not trying to, by that, by the way, suggest that President Trump is out breaking legs and shaking down shopkeepers. But instead, what I'm talking about is that leadership culture constantly comes back to me when I think about my experience with the Trump administration. They even did the Cosa Nostra trick of trying to bring people into court to rattle a witness. Like the Godfather 2, Michael Corleone brings Frankie Pentangeli's brother from Sicily to try and rattle him. I don't think Lauren Boebert or J.D. vance have that effect on a witness.
Ed Krassenstein
They didn't have to travel as far.
Bret Baier
But it's a lot. They even dress like the mobsters do. So, yes, it felt familiar.
Haley Caronia
Okay, well, this is why James Comey is so familiar with mob behavior. He prosecuted Tony Salerno of the Genovese crime family, also John Gambino of the Gambino crime family when he was a prosecutor. So the Mob meaning of 86, taking someone eight miles out of town, putting them six feet under, was probably more in line with what James Comey, a former FBI director, was thinking. I don't think he meant to just take him out to and certainly even take him out. Those words have different meanings depending on who you ask. And certainly after the, the year that President Trump has had with multiple assassination attempts. Think before you post. I don't believe what James Comey is saying for five seconds. I don't think anyone does. I'm not buying the sob story. He hate Trump, he was fired by Trump and he hates him. Some on the left even blamed James Comey for reopening the Hillary Clinton email probe just 11 days before the election, causing Hillary Clinton to lose to Trump in 2016. Here's one of the headlines that says that Comey, he said, I was sure Clinton would win the election before I reopened that email inquiry. So he didn't think that he was gonna tank Hillary Clinton's chances. But it's possible with the reopening of the email investigation, that that could have happened. But James Comey's confidence that Hillary Clinton would win, I mean, it's wild. So a lot of people, including probably the Clintons, believe that he ushered in Donald Trump into the White House. So we what are the odds that Hillary Clinton loses the election? Then James Comey is blamed for that loss. Then he makes it his personal mission to get Trump on the same Russia collusion lies that were pushed by the Clinton campaign funded the Steele dossier, or was Russia itself funding the Steele dossier? Here's James Comey in 2020, maintaining that he had no idea a Russian spy was on Christopher Steele's payroll. Watch this.
Cash Patel
Are you aware of the fact between October and January, the FBI had found that the Russian subsource was on the payroll of Mr. Steele was suspected of being a Russian spy by the FBI all the way back to 2009?
Bret Baier
I don't remember learning anything additional about Steele's sources.
Cash Patel
How could it be, Mr. Director, that the FBI finds in its file that the man that prepared the dossier for Steele was suspected of being a threat to national security? And it doesn't make it up to you?
Bret Baier
I don't know. I could speculate, but I don't know.
Cash Patel
I haven't spoken. I don't want you to speculate. We'll try to figure this all out ourselves.
Haley Caronia
So who was colluding with Russia? Trump, the Trump campaign, or swamp creatures in D.C. i'll let you decide. You already know the answer. But James Comey pushed the fake Russia collusion hoax. He pushed the fake story of golden showers with prostitutes. Swamp creatures lie. And then they seem to get away with those lies. The left is just obsessed with the notion of words inciting violence. But then they turn the other cheek when the violence is incited towards Republicans or towards Trump, because they don't care. They don't care if acts of violence are carried out against Republicans or a Republican president. The Swamp tries to 86 Trump politically, and then when they fail, they openly, publicly call for him to be 86. And then they feign ignorance when people actually try to assassinate President Trump.
Mikey
Me and Mikey were talking about this earlier. Everything that he's saying is slimy. Just, yeah, he's pleading the fifth without pleading the Fifth. Like he knew all of this stuff. So to say in that. In that Hearing with Lindsey Graham. I just don't recall. Yeah, I don't recall. Come on. Like, you, you were the. You were the conductor of this orchestra. Yeah, you know, exactly. All of it.
Haley Caronia
It's like, very safe legal speak for I don't want to be saying something that's going to implicate me 100%. How can I not answer the question, but answer the question.
Mikey
Which is indicative of the whole party at that. They just. Slimy.
Haley Caronia
And now the rest of the party, I mean, all these leftists on Twitter are just saying, oh, well, we obviously didn't mean to kill him.
Mikey
Slimy.
Haley Caronia
I mean, think of all the stuff that they say with January 6th. Slimy, where they say that the blood of the cop that died Brian Sicknick is on all the hands of Republicans, and it's on Trump's hands. And President Trump tweeted, go peacefully. And. And they still claim that Republicans incited violence. And it's like you guys are calling to 86 someone after they've had multiple assassination attempts. You're all implicated, or if you don't.
Mikey
Get the COVID vaccine shot, you are, in fact killing people.
Haley Caronia
Right.
Mikey
So it's all the language. It's all just slimy and grease ball. And this guy was at the top of the pyramid orchestrating 100%. I mean, the FICO warrants, the, the wiretap. As soon as Trump came down the escalator, it was game on for his head. Now it's all backfired. And, you know, I mean, what else can you do? Be in Florida and put 86 and seashells in the sand?
Haley Caronia
It's just. It's really sick. And based on the attacks that President Trump has faced in the last year. Do better. James Comey, you're a former FBI director and you don't see anything wrong with calling to 86 the sitting president. Come on. And he will be held accountable. To what extent, we don't know. But I want to show you FBI Director Cash Patel's post. He posted this on X. We are aware of the recent social media post by former FBI Director James Comey directed at President Trump. We are in communication with the Secret Service and Director Curran. Primary jurisdiction is with Secret Service on these matters, and we, the FBI, will provide all necessary support. DHS Secretary Christine Ohm went a step further in her post and she said, essentially, James Comey did call for the assassination of President Trump and he said dhs. She said, DHS and Secret Service is investigating this threat and will respond appropriately. No one is above the Law Democrats, you too. So for. For far too long, celebrities had called for the assassination of President Trump. Madonna said, I would very much like to see someone blow up the White House. Johnny Depp, they make these claims like it's okay to kill Trump. And now we're seeing the assassination attempts that are actually occurring. And no one blames Madonna. No one blames Johnny Depp. No one blames the left. No one blames Hollywood. It's high time we start making an example out of someone to hopefully prevent this kind of language in the future, language that could inspire someone to an attempt assassination. So the correct course of action here is to arrest James Comey and hope that nothing like this happens ever again. All right, President Trump is ruffling some feathers. He posted this on Truth Social earlier today, reigniting the beef with Taylor Swift. You know, Taylor Swift endorsed Kamala Harris. She's come out and said pretty negative things about President Trump in the past, trying to, you know, rally her army of Swifties to vote for Kamala Harris and against President Trump. Here's what President Trump wrote on Truth social media earlier. Has anyone noticed that since I said, I hate Taylor Swift, she's no longer hot? Which is the timeline that we're living in. To imagine that a president of the United States would go tweet about Taylor Swift being ugly is really wild. I will admit this isn't really like a presidential tweet, but the way that the left is reacting to this is just out of control. So, Lawrence o' Donnell MSNBC host, he posted this on X in response. This is a crisis. How do people take him seriously? This is a crisis. The president is mentally incompetent, and the media refuses to cover that story. He was silent, by the way, when President Biden was mentally incompetent and he was running the country for four years. And then to run again to compare the two is insane. When I mean that. I mean, comparing President Biden to President Trump. There is no doubt that President Trump is moving at the speed of light. People cannot keep up with him. The media cannot keep up with him. The staffers can't keep up with him. This is the lie that Dr. Jill Biden was trying to push on the View when Joe Biden was the guest and she was like, yeah, he would work through the night and no one could keep up with him. No, no. She was probably talking about President Trump because ain't no way people were trying to keep up with Joe Biden. If you had to try to keep up with Joe Biden, I'M concerned for your mental capacity and physical abilities. He doesn't seem too hard to keep up with. If he's, if you tell him to walk right, he's walking left. He'd get off the stage and do one of these. He would shake nobody's hand. So, Lawrence o' Donnell, put a sock in it. Because unless you are calling out Joe Biden shaking hands with nobody over the last four years and walking around like this, needing a damn handler to go anywhere. And now everything that we're finding out with Jake Tapper's fraudulent book about how Biden staffers were thinking, okay, we'll just get him through the election and then we'll put him in a wheelchair. I mean, you are complicit in one of the biggest lies of this century. So don't you dare come and say that President Trump isn't mentally prepared and capable to hold the office of the presidency because he said that Taylor Swift isn't hot. She's not. So since when is telling the truth grounds for removing you from office? These people are totally insane. Totally insane. Now, I'm moving now to a very serious story. This is a shocking headline out of South Carolina. Six illegal migrants killed a South Carolina mother. Here's the headline. It was a random attack. And these six illegal aliens were 13 to 21 years old. That was the age range. I've told you stories about this violent, you know, offshoot, this youth offshoot of trend. And they're in New York, they're in New York City, they're in Times Square young. I mean, they're, they're in the family business. The illegal aliens, they jump the border, they break the law. Clearly, they don't teach their children any better. They become criminals. It's just the pipeline. So this is probably what we're seeing here. Six illegal alien teens, 13 to 21 years old. They are accused of murdering 40 year old Larisha Sherrell Thompson. She's a mother of two children. And this was a random attack in South Carolina. And according to police, Thompson was driving down the road and six illegal aliens pulled up beside her in another vehicle, ambushed her, shot her to death. Thompson was found dead in her car by police after her family and loved ones were trying to get in contact with her and they couldn't. They set out a search and unfortunately, police found her in that state thanks to these six illegal migrants, ages 13, 14, 15. And they've been arrested by the Lancaster County Sheriff's Office. They were charged with murder earlier this week. This is just the Most sad part of the story, she was a dedicated employee of the Department of Veteran affairs and she worked at Home Depot. Her obituary, I can't even read it because it'll make me, it'll make me cry. I mean, truly a very beloved person in her community and a mother of two. Like I said. And earlier in the day before they killed her, these six illegal migrants, they attempted to rob a convenience store. So they're just out being hood rats. And clearly the lie that the left keeps telling, that these are asylum seekers and they're coming here to live a better life. And oh, they deserve free health care and they deserve all this stuff. It's like, miss me with that. This is the good stuff. I don't mess around with my coffee, you know. Now I used to be a one cup of coffee a day kind of girl. Now I'm two, sometimes three. Oh my gosh, I can even smell it. It's so good. This is a small batch family owned roastery right here in Florida. They craft bold premium coffee. And when I say bold, I can smell it from here. These statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. Now unfortunately, the Department of Homeland Security confirmed that all six of these murderers and accomplices to murder are illegal. And unfortunately, one of them was previously arrested in 2023 for domestic violence. He was never deported. Thanks Biden. Again, it's very frustrating for me to learn that these people are caught and released and if they were deported and an American life could have been saved, two children would still have their mother today if the Biden administration just followed the laws on the books. But they don't. And I'd like to point out that this black woman, because I'm mentioning this now because the race doesn't matter. But the entire black community came and supported a teenager who murdered another teenager, brought a knife to a track meet, murdered him in cold blood in broad daylight so that he died in his brother's arms. A disgusting murder. They all came to support him. His GoFundMe or his GiveSendGo, the crowdfunding site. He raised over $500,000. He gets to graduate high school so the black community can come together for him because he killed a white guy. Where's the black community now for this black woman, this mother of two who was murdered in cold blood in broad daylight by six illegal gang bangers? Keep the same energy. Where, where is the same energy? They just, it's nowhere to be found. Now a new Signal poll out finds shocking nobody, that voters don't want illegal aliens here. They actually want them to be deported. So 63.5% of voters, according to this Signal poll, support deporting illegal aliens from the country. 30.8% oppose. Then there's like almost 6% that are unsure. I don't know how you could be unsure about something like this. If you, if you hear the story that I just told, it's like, what purpose would they have here? The Democrats will tell you that it's, you know, no one else will wash our dishes so that, you know, they have to come here for a better life and to get free health care and to live the American dream. But the. What they're really doing is they're ripping the American dream away from American citizens by murdering them. So, sorry, it just gets me, like, really, really heated. And they broke this down by Republicans, independents, Democrats. So 90% of Republicans feel that you should deport all illegal aliens. So that's a good number. We could move it up a little bit, but all 90s good. 61% of independents and 32. Wait, no, sorry. 55% of Democrats oppose deporting illegal immigrants. It's insane. More than half of Democrats are fighting for these people to be here when they're ripping the American dream away from American citizens. It's sick. Now, I want to move to some good news because here's a headline out of RFK Juniors Health and Human Services Department. They are not going to be recommending the COVID 19 shot for pregnant women nor children anymore. So HHS, they are reversing the CDC recommendation that women with child should get the vaccine and that young children should get the vaccine. Hallelujah. Because the CDC now recommends that everyone aged six months and older get vaccinated. But we know that young children. First of all, the childhood vaccine schedule will make your head spin. I mean, they want to vaccinate your child and pump them with multiple vaccines in one go. They just like mix up a little cocktail and stick it in a baby. It's like, why am. Why are we giving. I mean, and some of the things that they are vaccinated against are like sexually transmitted diseases, even if the mother isn't carrying it. So why are we. What are we doing? Like, a lot of the vaccines don't even make sense to stick in a child all at once. So the childhood vaccine schedule, hopefully that's their next thing that they're tackling because it's insane. But the More research. You do you realize that? Okay, well, it's a risk assessment. If children don't die from COVID 19 and it's just a cold for most young healthy people. And certainly we don't know, we don't have enough data on pregnant women. And so I remember back when the vaccine was being pushed, they were telling pregnant women to get the vaccine because then their baby in utero would be vaccinated against COVID 19 or they would get the antibodies or whatever. I mean, it's insane, truly. They had no, they were recommending this stuff without really knowing what the side effects were. So now that we know that the risk really isn't that high, I'm glad that they're removing this recommendation. There's no reason why children need to be COVID 19 vaxxed. There's just not. And if you're young and healthy, why, why? I've, I've had Covid multiple times. I'm here to live and tell the tale. So it's fine. If you're young and you're healthy, you're fine. If you have comorbidities or you're older, certainly speak with your doctor about it. I'm not going to recommend it or not recommend it. I'm not a doctor. But do your own research. That's what I say. If you've gotten Covid and you got over it, I say you're probably fine unless you're in these high risk categories. So the studies that have shown the CDC data shows that not a lot of parents are giving their children Covid boosters. Just 13% of children are Covid boosted and expectant mothers. Also 14% of pregnant women received their latest updated Covid booster. So not even a lot of people are getting it anyway, despite the CDC recommending it. So I think people are just waking up. And FDA Commissioner Dr. Marty Makary, he's preparing to roll out a tougher approval process for vaccines. None of this warp speed stuff where we're mandating vaccines, certainly the mandates came from the Biden administration. Operation Warp Speed came from the Trump administration. But we can't be whipping together vaccines and we certainly can't be forcing them on the American public without knowing the data. So thankfully, Dr. Marty Makary, someone with his head on straight with this whole thing is at the helm and hopefully we can prevent something like this, the COVID 19 vaccine lunacy, from ever happening again. And I want to update you quickly on a story that I covered. Maybe it was last week or a few weeks ago but the California assembly, they were voting on a bill that would essentially make it a felony for you to elicit sex from older teenagers, 16 and 17 years old, because it was a felony under the age of 15, 15 and younger, and then it was a felony if you were 18 or older. But it was this weird in between phase when you're 16 and 17 years old, where it was just a misdemeanor. But today the, I'm sorry. Yesterday the California assembly approved harsher penalties for soliciting sex from 16 and 17 year olds, which is a win for sure, a win across the board. So the exception here though is for cases where there's a difference of three years or younger between both parties. So like a 16 year old and a 19 year old or what have you. But this is definitely better that now it's a felony. You can't elicit sex from teenagers even if they're older. And this is a win because all children now under 18 are going to be protected and even people over 18. But it's crazy that people 16 and 17 were not originally included in this bipartisan legislation. And the law, the law left in place, it basically limits the penalty for eliciting sex to a misdemeanor. Like, thankfully, it's a felony now. But the craziest thing, and this is why I covered it earlier, Democrats rejected this provision last, earlier this month they rejected it. It was a bipartisan bill and Democrats in California, they didn't move forward with it. Now, I guess they've rewritten the bill and now they've passed it. The California assembly passed it, it heads to the Senate. Now. Unfortunately, Democrats in the Senate last year rejected a similar effort. So it's like this is just a mini win in the case. It's not even like a full win where, you know, 16 and 17 year olds will be protected in California. Not just yet, but the House passed, it heads to the Senate. We can only pray that these Democrats are as open minded, I guess you can say, as the ones in the House to pass this. We, we can only hope. Unfortunately. I, I've got bad news here. This is a, a trans athlete. This is so insane. And I have a video lined up for you. You're gonna just, you're gonna die. It's crazy. So there's a transgender female, like a man, a man who's pretending to be a girl. He basically defeated all the other freshman female track stars by less than 2/10 of a second in a 200 meter race. This was at a Pennsylvania high school and here's the. I just want to play the video for you so you can see just how much he beats these girls by. Watch, there he is. And there's the girl that just follows him. I mean, it is crazy. And this is a huge difference in track. I mean, when you watch the Olympics or if you've run track before. I used to. I used to run track in high school. I mean, milliseconds can solidify a win for you. And this was like. I mean, there was no competition at all. And so this trans athlete now has six wins this season, six wins that could have gone to women if any adults were in the room at this Pennsylvania high school. Now, when he ran that 200 meter race that you just saw, if he was competing against the guys, he would have been the fourth slowest among all of the guys competing. This is what the trans athlete said. If you remove the ability of trans people to compete with a team that corresponds with their gender, then you'll strip them of their opportunity to develop as people. This is an interview that he did with the Philadelphia Inquirer. He went on to say, trans athletes, like any other high school athlete, are just kids who want to compete. BS bs. Playing sports is a privilege. It is not a right. And you don't get to just wipe the floor with women because you want to feel better about yourself or you're confused about your gender identity or your biological sex. You're denying the fact that you have advantages that women do not. You have longer legs, you have bigger muscles, you have bigger lung capacity. The list goes on. And his mom, who's clearly not with it, said that, you know, this is a journey that they've been on. They're trying to get her son to transition to the girl that she always has been. No, no. These woke parents, it's a disease. They say that liberalism is a disease, like in the cases of these trans individuals. I truly, truly believe that. How do you give birth to a son and say, no, you're right, he was always a girl? What, what do you mean? She went. She went on further to say having her son compete against boys would be cruel. Cruel. And I just want to go back to what the trans athlete said. If you remove the ability of trans people to compete with a team that corresponds with their gender, you'll strip them of their opportunity to develop as people. You actually don't need to run track to develop as a person. You don't need to play sports to develop as a person. You certainly don't need to take opportunities Away from women to develop as a person.
Mikey
What about the people that they're running against and beating by three seconds? Developing as athletes? Yeah, they can, as people.
Haley Caronia
Yeah, they're probably missing out on scholarships that would have helped them develop as a person.
Mikey
I mean, you just can't, you can't, that cannot be understated that these people, like are getting beat by two or three. There's a difference between getting beat by a fraction or a margin or you're swimming and it's touch, touch even then. It's insane. But some of these people on the, in the pool and in the track you're seeing, I know it's three furlongs that they're getting, they're getting beat by. It's incredible.
Haley Caronia
And it has nothing to do with development. These are just losers. And you know, like I said, he would have been the fourth slowest if he competed where he was supposed to compete. So maybe these trans athletes is like, they just want to solidify their college scholarships.
Mikey
Then they know that there's money in that.
Haley Caronia
You get to be trans, which is like, you know, you can get into Harvard and be trans. I mean, there's like a social academic currency to being trans.
Mikey
And it's a, they know that they're playing into that money. It's a win.
Haley Caronia
So it's like, oh, now I get to check off trans on my, my Scott, my college applications. That's going to help me and I'm the fastest one. Then they're going to get, they're going to get into the college that they want and they're going to be getting college scholarships, athletic scholarships, maybe academic scholarships that were being taken away from women. They're losers. They want to wipe the floor with women to feel like winners. And these parents need to have their heads checked. And the Trump administration should give this school the same treatment that they've given upenn over the whole Leah Thomas situation and other schools and states who refuse to comply with, with the executive order to protect women and girls in sports. I do have one nice news update before we get into scrolling time. So here is a post. Tiffany Trump, she posted this on X and she's welcoming her baby boy to the world. So she said, welcome to the world, our sweet baby boy, Alexander Trump Boulos. We love you beyond words. Thank you for coming into our lives. So he was born on May 15th and this is President Trump's 11th grandchild. So I just want to say congratulations to the Trump family. I hope Tiffany and baby are doing well. And on that note, it is time for scrolling time Foreign. These next two videos that I have, they kind of coincide with each other a little bit. And it's just how much our society has changed for the worse in my opinion. With the introduction of technology, streaming services making life so convenient that we end up removing social aspects of our lives. With fast food restaurants and streaming services like Netflix, there's really less avenues for people to connect in real life with other human beings, which is important for our development. So here's the first one about. You know why kids don't know how.
Tiffany Trump
To time manage correctly these days? The youngins?
Haley Caronia
Yeah.
Tiffany Trump
It's because they didn't have to manage their schedule properly to make sure that they were on time, seated for their show or their movie dropping at 87 Central. There was a time period where I had to make sure all my chores were done. I had to let my mom know like an email. Hi, I will not be available from this time to this time. Please do not bother me. I got High School Musical 2 coming on later. What you need done before that? Okay. Bet I will not be available for commercials. That is for bathroom breaks and snack break refills. Okay. Time management is what we were doing out there. Proper work ethic. They don't know how to do that. That was, that was work ethic and training right there. Did you know how to make it on time for your show? Did you know how to schedule your commercial breaks? And don't, don't even let it be like a music video premiere during the commercial break. So now you have less time. So what are you doing with it? Strategizing. All of those things Disney Channel. Disney Channel was preparing us. They don't gotta do that no more. They can just hit pause and come right back to it. So that's what's missing here. Bring back the commercials for the kids. I don't need them. I've done it already. Bring it back for the kids so they know how to properly manage their time and be ready to go.
Haley Caronia
It's true. We used to have to sit down and you had to look up when your show was coming on. You had to get all your chores done before the show came on. Like in this case, Disney channel original movies, 8, 7 Central. Everyone knew Friday night, 8 o' clock, Disney Channel Original Movie was coming on.
Mikey
The DCOM TGIF on Fridays on NBC. They programmed it like that cause you couldn't DVR it. You had to get home, you had to sit down and then you made popcorn during the breaks and you watched Boy Meets World. You watched all of those shows because.
Haley Caronia
That was Friday night and this was your one shot. Maybe you could catch a rerun later, but if you didn't watch it, you missed it. And there was a whole social currency to coming to school the next day or coming to work the next day and watching a show with someone and saying, oh, did you catch this last night? Or oh, did you watch this?
Mikey
And it's like you got in trouble at the movies because you went to the movie. You know what I mean? Like there wasn't sitting at home and there wasn't any Netflix or I mean, you had to be somewhere. You had to be on time to be somewhere. I love this woman. She's invited to speak truth into my life.
Haley Caronia
And these kids now, I mean, they could just turn on Netflix and watch stuff whenever they want.
Mikey
Mikey's like, I'm the opposite of this person.
Haley Caronia
I'm the kids watching Netflix. There are some streaming shows that I think they drop sort of the way that they used to program, like live cable television and broadcast television. But yeah, so we just wait till they all drop and then you can win the whole thing, right? So now it's like everything in our life is just convenient. And this next video is about restaurants and how fast food restaurants have kind of done the same thing. Watch this.
Ed Krassenstein
Casual dining chains, you know, places where middle class families could walk in without a reservation and have a meal at a relatively affordable price, have been in a steady decline throughout the 21st century. Last year alone, I think TGI Fridays and Red Lobster filed for bankruptcy. And this isn't necessarily just about Americans spending less money at restaurants. We're actually still spending the same amount as ever, studies have shown. But we're actually there. We're seeing trends where people are buying food made by restaurants and eating it elsewhere. So like the rise of these specific kind of to go chains like sweetgreen, Cava, through delivery apps, through drive thrus, takeout services, those have become ingrained habits and those have risen at the sacrifice of these other chain sit down restaurants.
Haley Caronia
It is crazy to think about my favorite chain restaurant. Growing up, I would go to Boston Market, which. Does that exist anymore? Boston Market. Oh yeah, I haven't seen one in years. And Macaroni Grill, all the Macaroni Grills by me either closed or they turned into Carrabba's Italian Grill. I think they're calling them now.
Mikey
The Penne Rustica at the Macaroni at the Macaroni Grill will always be bomb, right?
Haley Caronia
Oh, for sure. Yeah. Okay. So I used to love Macaroni Grill. But she's right. A lot of these chain restaurants are not as popular as they were. People are not bringing their family to Applebee's. They're not bringing their family to TGI Fridays. They're not bringing them to, I don't know, like, what are these other ones?
Mikey
The Red Lobster is a guilty pleasure. And I'm part of the reason, probably corporately, that they ditched the all you can eat shrimp. Literally. Too hard, too hard in the paint. They're losing money because the last time I went, my wife and daughter left me still there eating. And the waitress brought me a to go shrimp scampi.
Haley Caronia
Wow.
Mikey
Like, take the hint.
Haley Caronia
Okay. But it is interesting, the change in our society because I do think that some of it has to do with the economy. I think that when families now are going to take themselves out to dinner, it's like, well, our money doesn't go as far as it used to. I'd rather save up for a nicer dining experience. It's like, if your family's gonna go out to dinner, like, let's go out to dinner. Let's get dressed up. Let's not just put on a backwards hat and jean shorts and go to Red Lobster. Let's go out to dinner. It's like become more special. I think people go out for special occasions. It's your birthday, it's your anniversary, it's like something to celebrate. But people are no longer. I think they just don't have the money in the bank to go to a Red Lobster on a Wednesday night. It's just not in the cards. I think a lot of people are now realizing that cooking at home is healthier. I think a lot of people are doing that instead. But to the point that this girl brought up in the video about the convenience factor where people are going to Chipotle, they're going to Chick Fil A, they're going through a drive thru, they're eating fast food. And it's just quick. It's quick, it's convenient. People don't have really long lunch breaks any anymore at work. So it's, where can I get a quick salad? You go to Sweetgreen, you go to Chopped, you go to Fresh and Co. You go to these places where you go in, you maybe sit down by yourself for a few minutes or you take it to go. You eat alone in your car or you eat alone in your cubicle. But she's right. Like, people aren't eating together anymore. It's this, it's less of a community engagement activity and it's become more of a solo activity. Do we think that this is because of COVID Like, people just don't want to interact with other people anymore? Biden inflation. You think it's the economy too? But delivery services are expensive. And she said, Amy, that people are spending less money, they're spending it differently. Like, people aren't going out to the middle class chain restaurants anymore, but they are spending the money still on delivery options, like, you know, grubhub or Uber Eats or whatever.
Mikey
You think it has anything into. Play into, like, social anxiety too? Yes, just a younger generation.
Haley Caronia
Like, social anxiety.
Mikey
Do you get. Do you panic just because I would just go plop down in a place. I don't care.
Haley Caronia
Like, I eat alone. I don't care.
Mikey
Well, do you feel like your generation is like, I would rather actually put on sweatpants and order grubhub, chipotle and chill at the house with the dogs or the cats as opposed to being in a social environment?
Haley Caronia
I mean, I feel like I'm a very social, outgoing person, and I surround myself with other social, outgoing people. So I'm also confident enough to go sit down at a restaurant by myself. I don't care. Some people are not like that. But I think there are more people in my millennial age range that they're more social. But I think Gen Z is kind of the cutoff where maybe elder Gen Z, they're still social and they still go out. But I think the younger generation, it's really become maybe a depression thing. I think there are a lot of depressed millennials too, where they just don't want to go out and meet people. They're just, you know, on these antidepressants or something, and they just go order food. They don't have to talk to anyone. They, they, they look through the little peephole in their door to make sure that they don't even have to talk to the delivery driver. They're like, oh, he dropped it off. Then he sees him drive off, and then he goes and gets it. It's like as little human connection as possible. And I just think that's really sad.
Mikey
The doorbell used to get people excited. My grandma in East Tennessee, Memo, we call her, had an apple pie that she would make, and it didn't matter who came to the door, they had an opportunity to get an apple pie. If somebody rang your doorbell right now or your generation, are you diving behind the couch in panic because somebody rang your doorbell?
Haley Caronia
I wouldn't eat something that a stranger brought to my house or that I got from a stranger. That's. Yeah, just. I don't know. I worry about that. But let's. Let's skip to the blind reactions here.
Mikey
Never back down, Never what?
Haley Caronia
Never give up.
James Comey
Never back down.
Haley Caronia
Never what? Okay, so this is a seagull. Oh, he's eyeing that lady's ice cream cone. Oh, she's wondering who does hear. Did he get a bite? Can we play it again? I think the seagull got the ice cream.
Mikey
Never back down, Never what?
Haley Caronia
Never give up.
James Comey
Never back down.
Haley Caronia
Never what? Never give up. O. Right after. Oh, they double dip. They were sharing that together. I think she was licking at the same time he got in there. Very romantic. Hit me with the next one. Turns one. Oh.
James Comey
Ow. Is he going to deliver?
Haley Caronia
Sweet, very angry cats. Oh. Oh. This is just orange cat lunacy. Oh, gosh. Was that a raccoon? This compilation's going so fast, I can't even react to all of them. Not that serious. Oh, did he just gag? The owner kissed the cat on the head and the cat gagged.
Tiffany Trump
That's not how we communicate in this house.
Haley Caronia
I would orange. This is why you don't climb on the freaking counters. A Gods disc. Cats are nuts. I have a soft spot for them in my heart, but they are really crazy. Mine's not really that crazy. She's a tuxedo cat. She's very loving. She's very dog like.
Mikey
But yeah, we get a name for your cat. Cat. I don't even know that I know it.
Haley Caronia
My cat's Birdie. I did Birdie. Do you have other ones? One more. All right, let's do the last one. What is that a funy? Okay, so this guy had a Funyun on his finger, and then what, the monkey wanted to eat it? No. So monkeys have crazy reactions when people do magic tricks, and that's what that was. Oh, can I. Can you play it again? I need to watch this video multiple times to even understand what's happening. Okay, so he's. Okay. So the monkey is impressed that the Funyun went away. Okay. It just took me three times. Third time's the charm to understand the video. That's fine. Wow. His facial expression there is very good. All right, I do have some questions that I'm going to answer. I put these on my Instagram story earlier or yesterday? I guess it was yesterday, and I'll go through some of them. Someone asked, with boomers starting to leave us, what will I feel like? Boomers are not leaving us yet. Like, not anytime soon. Like, my parents are boomers.
Mikey
I mean, not. Not totally, but I mean, they're getting. What are the. Are they in their upper 70s? Some of them. So, like, it's that. That generation is starting to. Okay, you know, to go away.
Haley Caronia
I think the.
Mikey
What a great generation.
Haley Caronia
What is it? The post war generation. They're. They're like our grandparents. Okay. Okay. Well, anyway, he said, with boomers starting to leave us, what will media look like in 10 years? And will legacy media finally die? I think it'll take a very long time for legacy media to die, but I do think that we're trending towards this new media and digital media that legacy media companies and big networks cannot grasp. I don't know what it is. I'm saying this out of experience because I've worked there and I've seen it with my own eyes. Maybe it's just older people in charge or like, maybe an unwillingness to understand new media. But I think a lot of traditional media networks, whether it's Fox or CNN or msnbc, NBC, abc, they are not really the leaders in any digital media, Any podcast streaming, because they produce cable news shows on streaming platforms and then wonder why they're not doing well. But I think older generations like the cable news style. But as boomers leave us, and I'm using your terms, not mine, I think we will see either networks have to shape up and figure out how to dominate the media space, or they will just become less and less popular because I cut the cord. I haven't watched cable in a very long time, probably eight years, and I don't miss it. I don't watch cable news. I watch clips online and what have you. But I'm not like, turning on traditional television anymore. And I only have streaming platforms. And I think younger generations, even more so, fall in line to that line of thinking where it's, we're not gonna watch tv, we're just gonna stream stuff. So I think it will be interesting. It's. It's funny though. It's like people think, oh, these networks are going to die, and then boomers go away, and then another generation gets older and then they gravitate towards that kind of media. But I actually think that, like, I can't see myself reverting and then watching cable news as I get older. You know, I think there is going to be a seismic shift in the industry, and if you're not with the digital times, you're going to lose out big time. Someone said, did you take over Dan's office or do you have a new one? No, Dan has an office. We have offices up there. This is Dan's studio. Maybe you're talking about the studio. This is Dan's studio. So, yes, I took it over. You can see like, Dan's stuff is still up there and down here, but my stuff is in the middle where it's like a little more visible. But yeah, when Dan comes back, I don't know what we'll do. We have a long time to worry about it. But yes, this is Dan's studio and it is very nice and I'm very lucky that he's letting me use it. In the meantime, someone asked, is it easier to get acclimated and meet new people in Nashville or South Florida? Hands down, Nashville, I think it is just easier to meet people when it's a city that has a lot of young professionals in it. I would go to the gym, meet people my age, go to the coffee shop, meet people my age, go to the hair salon, meet people my age. It was just, I was kind of surrounded by like minded and similar people. Now in Florida, it's less like that. I go to the gym. The crowd's a little older. I love them. They're wonderful. Are they going to be my best friends? No. So it's just different. Um, I do know, like, when I moved to Nashville, I didn't know anyone and I was able to make friends pretty easily just because everyone around was my age. And everyone is a. It's a transplant city. So not a lot of people are from Nashville originally. So everyone's from somewhere else and everyone has a story and everyone's trying to make friends. Like, everyone's kind of in the same boat here. Very much not that way. So I do know more people in Florida because I have old coworkers who live, you know, like an hour from me. So sometimes I'll go and visit them. But for the most part, it's. It's definitely tougher here. Ooh. Someone asked me a controversial question, but I don't think I'm going to get into that because people are going to get mad at me. Someone said your take on short Kings. Like, I've answered this question before on my Instagram and people always get mad at me. I'm almost five, eight and I like to wear heels. Like tall heels, four inch heels. So my preference is to date men who are taller than me. You don't have to be taller than me in heels. That would be best. But I. I would like, someone to be taller than me. But that is not to say that I discriminate against short kings. I have dated short guys before. I'm not, like, ruling anyone out. But that's just my preference to date taller guys. Don't hate me. If you had to live. Oh, wait, I can't read. If you had one life experience to relive again, what would it be? I don't think I would relive anything because I've already lived it once, and I would just hope for new, great experiences to live through in the future. When is yours and Bryson's wedding? I guess I'll end the show. How long has the show been? Oh, an hour. Three Already. Okay, this will be my last question. When's your and Bryson's wedding? Great, Great question. By the way, I think I have celebrity crushed too close to the sun. People are asking me now, like, are you in. In touch with Bryson? Do you chat with Bryson? Are you dating him? Like, no. I did shoot my shot with him. Did I tell you the story? Did I? Yeah. So I interviewed Bryson. I just asked him two questions at a live golf event. This was last summer. And I had a golf ball that had Biden's face on it, and it said, help. I'm lost. I thought that that was funny. And. And I wrote my name and number on it, and I gave it to him. And at the time, like, there was a bunch of people, like, crowding him, and I basically just gave him the golf ball, and I said, like, hey, like, this is for you.
Mikey
That's a bold move, Cotton.
Haley Caronia
I shoot my shot. And he did not call. Okay, just update to the story. He never called. But again, this is a celebrity crush. Like, I do not expect us to ever get married or date or anything, but I just do that, find that funny. And someone even asked me. I won't say who, but someone at Fox News reached out to me recently and said, hey, can you pass along your contact for Bryson? I'm like, I don't have Bryson DeChambeau's number. Like, why do people think that I do? I guess because I talk about my crush on him a lot, and I do. I. I do have a very serious crush on him, but I don't have his number. I do have some contacts that live that I passed over, but I was like, I don't have his number. But, hey, people think that I do. People think that I'm. I'm this tight with him because I talk about it so much, which is kind of sick. So this is probably the last time I'm ever going to talk about my crush on price of DeChambeau. Anyway, on that note, thank you so much for joining me on this Friday evening. Have a great weekend everyone. I will see you right back here on Monday. Nightly Scroll with Hayley - Episode 50 Summary: "Mob Prosecutor Comey Plays Dumb After Calling To ‘86’ Trump"
Release Date: May 16, 2025
In Episode 50 of "Nightly Scroll with Hayley," host Hayley Caronia delves into the explosive controversy surrounding former FBI Director James Comey's recent Instagram post, explores President Trump's tumultuous relationship with the media, examines tragic incidents involving illegal immigrants, and addresses significant policy changes and societal issues. The episode is structured into several key segments, each providing insightful analysis and passionate commentary.
Initial Post and Immediate Reactions [00:00 - 05:03]
Hayley begins the episode by addressing James Comey's controversial Instagram post, where he shared an image of a shell formation along with the cryptic numbers "86 47."
Hayley Caronia [00:00]: "James Comey, he's under fire now for a deleted Instagram post in which he called to 86 47. He used to call President Trump a mob boss and he used to prosecute mobsters in New York for years. But he claims he didn't think 86 meant to kill Trump."
Hayley highlights the significance of the term "86," suggesting it carries violent undertones, especially given Comey's history in mob prosecution. She also references another individual, Ed Krasnstein, who mirrored Comey's post with similar cryptic numbering, further fueling suspicions.
Comey's Interview with Bret Baier [03:57 - 05:03]
Hayley plays a segment from James Comey's interview with Bret Baier on Fox News, where Comey addresses the implications of his post.
James Comey [03:57]: "He knew exactly what that meant. A child knows what that meant. If you're the FBI director and you don't know what that meant, right? That meant assassination. And it says it loud and clear."
Comey's strong language suggests a direct threat against President Trump, leading to widespread condemnation.
Hayley dissects the possible meanings behind "86," emphasizing its historical context in mob terminology, where it signifies eliminating someone completely.
Hayley Caronia [05:03]: "James Comey knows about the mob. He also spent a very long time calling President Trump and others in his cabinet a mob boss and mob like."
She argues that Comey's intention likely extends beyond a benign message, considering his past statements and actions against Trump.
Hayley connects Comey's actions to the broader political tensions surrounding President Trump, suggesting that Comey's personal vendettas have intensified divisions.
Hayley Caronia [11:47]: "The Swamp tries to 86 Trump politically, and then when they fail, they openly, publicly call for him to be 86."
She underscores the dangerous rhetoric that fuels threats against the president, reflecting deep-seated animosity from certain political factions.
The episode shifts focus to the responses from high-ranking officials. FBI Director Cash Patel and DHS Secretary Christine Ohm condemn Comey's post and initiate investigations.
Christine Ohm: "James Comey did call for the assassination of President Trump... DHS and Secret Service is investigating this threat and will respond appropriately."
Hayley advocates for stringent actions against Comey to prevent potential violence, drawing parallels to unchecked hate speech and its real-world consequences.
Hayley narrates the heartbreaking story of Larisha Sherrell Thompson, a 40-year-old mother who was randomly ambushed and killed by six illegal immigrants in South Carolina.
Hayley Caronia [20:00]: "Six illegal alien teens, 13 to 21 years old... they pulled up beside her... shot her to death."
She criticizes the current immigration policies, attributing the tragedy to lax enforcement and highlighting the perceived dangers posed by illegal immigrants.
Referencing a Signal poll, Hayley presents data showing overwhelming support among voters for the deportation of illegal immigrants.
Hayley Caronia [28:00]: "63.5% of voters... support deporting illegal aliens from the country. 90% of Republicans feel that you should deport all illegal aliens."
She contrasts this with the Democratic stance, which she argues contradicts voter sentiments, further fueling political polarization.
Hayley shares the significant policy change from the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), which has reversed CDC recommendations for COVID-19 vaccines for pregnant women and children.
Hayley Caronia [32:00]: "HHS is reversing the CDC recommendation... there's no reason why children need to be COVID 19 vaxxed."
She praises the decision, emphasizing the importance of evidence-based policies and expressing relief over the reduction in vaccine mandates.
The discussion moves to California's legislative efforts to criminalize soliciting sex from 16 and 17-year-olds, marking a shift from misdemeanors to felonies.
Hayley Caronia [38:00]: "The California assembly approved harsher penalties for soliciting sex from 16 and 17-year-olds, which is a win across the board."
She commends the bipartisan support for the bill, though she notes the remaining exceptions and the challenge ahead in the Senate.
Hayley and co-host Mikey engage in a heated debate over the inclusion of transgender athletes in female sports categories. They cite a specific case from a Pennsylvania high school where a transgender male athlete outperformed female competitors by significant margins.
Hayley Caronia [41:04]: "These trans athletes just want to solidify their college scholarships... They're losers. They want to wipe the floor with women to feel like winners."
The segment is marked by strong opinions against transgender participation in female sports, arguing it undermines fairness and opportunities for female athletes.
Despite the intense discussions, Hayley shares a heartwarming update about Tiffany Trump welcoming her baby boy, Alexander Trump Boulos, celebrating a moment of joy amidst the chaos.
Hayley Caronia [55:02]: "Congratulations to the Trump family. I hope Tiffany and baby are doing well."
In the "Scrolling Time" segment, Hayley and Mikey react to viral videos highlighting the decline of social interactions due to technological advancements and the shift in dining habits away from traditional chain restaurants.
Hayley Caronia [43:45]: "With the introduction of technology, streaming services make life so convenient that we end up removing social aspects of our lives."
They lament the erosion of community engagement and the rise of solo activities, attributing it to factors like the economy, social anxiety, and changing family dynamics.
Mikey [51:09]: "Get the COVID vaccine shot, you are, in fact killing people."
Tiffany Trump [43:45]: "It's because they didn't have to manage their schedule properly... proper work ethic."
Hayley concludes the episode by addressing listener-submitted questions, ranging from generational shifts and media evolution to personal preferences in dating and social interactions.
Hayley Caronia [56:52]: "I think Gen Z is kind of the cutoff where maybe elder Gen Z... but the younger generation, it's really become maybe a depression thing."
She reflects on the challenges of forming new relationships in different locales and shares personal anecdotes about her own experiences and preferences.
