Josefin is an Art Historian, Curator, and Creative Producer here in SF. This episode is full of advice for artists, so if you're a creative, don't skip it. We chat about the art market, large-scale art installations, and art school. I made up a word, "famiosity," you are welcome to make it a thing:) We discuss influence & originality and "life experience as education." We discover neither one of us can pronounce a French word correctly, and we are done trying. If you feel like helping us out, please throw out some titles for the TV show we imagine Josefin stars in as a forgery fed. I'm playing the role of forger, naturally. Enjoy this episode with Josefin Lundahl, and thank you for listening!

A terrifically honest and open interview with Suki about her addiction memoir, "Sea, Swallow Me." I read it in 24 hours, and I found it to be a wonderful encapsulation of what addiction is like and what comes after. We laugh hysterically over how we CANNOT stop ourselves from telling random people we are sober (BevMo hates to see us coming), how music anchors us in time, how we absolutely wear out songs by obsessive repetition, and our gratitude for how drastically our lives have changed. I do feel it's important to put a warning on this episode: we talk about drugs, alcohol, eating disorders, and sexual assault. And despite all those heavy topics, I promise, this is an episode worth tuning into.

We went into this Halloween Horror Movie Special with a list of five horror movies curated by a friend of No Cap, Matty Clark. We all watched Barbarian, Terrified, Bring Her Back, Dead Alive and Black Christmas (1974.) We have no qualifications to critique movies, other than a shared love of horror. I think there's more laughing on this epidsode than ever before- we found out which horror movies shaped our young brains: KT's was Carrie, Amol's was Alligator, and mine was the made for TV movie IT. We also come to find out that in Amol's opinion, there's "seasons" for candy, and it is acceptable only to purchase candy from now until January 1st. Listen for our takes on these five films, plus many other side quests. Welcome to Season 3!!!

HOT TAKES: reading fantasy, we say NO to clowns, falling in love with graffiti, the art of practice & diligence, multiple crews, the power of the BUFF and beginning anew, visual jazz, workout in the form of carrying 1,000 page books, always be nice to the robots, Max's new space & participation in TL First Thursdays. Max has a 25 year art career and ain't stopping yet. He's poised, articulate, talented, kind, and a stanchion of Bay Area art. It was a treat to chill with him for a few hours.

Our super busy bi coastal friend dropped in for a casual two hour chat:) I've been a longtime fan of Erik's work, and because SF is six degrees of separation I ended up subleasing his longtime Mission studio when he moved to NYC. That era has ended, but luckily a friendship was born, and it was nice to pick his brain about his success, his business acumen, how he got started, and the most hilarious install mishap he's ever had. We also touch on our baby criminal activity, his time having a clothing company, and an insane 5 year illustration program he completed. If you're a fan, an artist, or frequent listener, Erik hits all the high points.

The illustrious Nico has finally graced my halls! I would ride into hell and back for Nico, and I am so happy to get an opportunity for y'all to know and love her too. We covered a lot of ground in this episode- as always, THE BAY, the arts scene, how Nico got her start, breakfast sandos, feelings charts, "McSobers" (which I will be devastated I didn't get to drink at for the rest of my days), and how we are striking the word "commendable" from our vocabulary. So much more, but what would be the fun in me giving you a full recap?

This dynamic duo found time in their busy schedules to come have a delightful, and honestly, too short of a conversation for yours truly. They tell us all about their collaborative project "The Get Up," their goals, how much we all love SF, how they began painting, their matching tattoos, and we also unearth a secret desire from Amanda Lynn. Don't miss this episode!!!

There was no plan going into this one, and none was needed. BJB and I met in 2020 but it seems like forever already. We chat about poop, white skittles, art, the fact that he's actively being held captive at my house, what he's bringing for Open Studios, and so much more. Enjoy, it's got a college humor vibe:)

The indubitable Rachel Z has been one of my longest friends, from wayyyy back to little baby Britt in Boulder times. We had an awesome chat- and this is will be an episode fellow artists may want to tune into- Rachel does a great job of breaking down her teaching style and how she does commission work- lots of valuable info packed here. We also chat about early fashion designer days and how I walked a show on top of a bar:), being the weird kid, and neurodivergence.

Jet and I sit down before his first solo show in 5 years- "The Language of Flowers," opening April 6 at Heron Arts. Jet hails from Mexico, grew up in Colorado, and has been in the Bay since the late 90's. He's a Bay Area legend and has work all over the United States as well as abroad. He's also incredibly chill and has a work ethic to beat the band. I've been looking up to him for years, and it's an honor to have a studio side by side with him, and to have him grace the pod. We had a great time, and I know you'll be a fan of his- if you're not already.
