Taylor Frankie Paula is breaking her silence and so is Dakota. They are both addressing this alleged dv, this incident that could potentially, potentially lead to an arrest and is rocking the mom talk world. So get ready for that. We also have the New York Post and Variety that are coming after the content creators yet again. I have some thoughts about that and maybe we'll even get into a little Meghan Markle because she's been making some headlines. I don't know if we care, but we're gonna get into it. Let's do it. This is no Filter with Zack Peter your go to source for all the latest pop culture and reality TVT serve fresh all week long. Now let's dive in. What's going on everybody? Welcome on in. Welcome on in. Welcome on in. Happy Wednesday. I hope you had a great St. Patty's Day. I hope you had a cute Irish voice make out with or maybe a cute ginger. A ginger. Ginger. Ginger, Ginger. Ginger. What's up guys? Happy Wednesday, Happy hump day. I hope you get humped today. Let's see. Oh, I pulled something in my back. Oh, no sleeveless today. I was wrong. No sleeveless. But it is black. I'm not wearing black. It's. It's. It's gray. My goodness. I have, like, a back spasm. I think it's like right ow. In my shoulder blade somewhere. I did something. I pulled something and it's like, oh, it hurts. Help. Sos sos. Please someone help me. It's not healthy for me to na na na na. Are you boy making this hard? All their interviews are trying to save face, but it's just so messy. It's your bestie, miss, Miss Westy. These hoes try to test me. Is about to get messy. Oh, my goodness. Let's see. We do have Taylor Frankie Paul in her first ever interview on Good Morning America where she's breaking her silence. We'll get into that in just a second. Then we just got a statement from Dakota. His team just issued out a statement. What a time to be alive. Mom talk is still shooketh. The show is still on pause. And, like, honestly, what a disastrous rollout for the Bachelorette. Right? Like, Taylor Franken Paul set to, like, debut as the newest Bachelorette this weekend. It was supposed to be this big rollout, huge opportunity for her. And now there are reports that have come out that say NBC is considering just scrapping the season altogether amid all of this backlash. Okay, not only that, but they've already lost one sponsor. Dun dun dun. Cinnabon. I don't know if you've been in a mall in the last decade, but if you have been, if you've been to a Westfield lately, pretty sure you've seen smelled the Cinnabons. You're like, well, they are suddenly on their moral high horse here. Okay, so it doesn't appear that Cinnabon. Cinnabon was one of, like, ABC's primary advertisers, but they bought into, or it appears they bought into a partnership that was specific to the Bachelorette. And so I read reports that I guess they were going to launch, like, limited edition items or like, themed packaging for the rollout of the launch. And now that does not seem to be happening because now they're saying that their values no longer align with the Bachelorette and they will no longer be participating in this rollout. I mean, what a move. I think people are looking to Cinnabon as having high moral integrity behind their frosty buns. And I'm glad that they're really. They're really sticking to those buns, right? They have so much integrity. I feel like they could probably be, you know, not marketing to families and children, you know, at the mall. Cause, like, maybe not the healthiest thing. So being the journalist, the serious journalist that I am, all my glasses aren't here. My fake glasses. Being the serious journalist that I am with such high moral integrity, like Cinnabon, I decided to do my research. And I discovered in my search for Nancy Guthrie and my search to expose Cinnabon, I found out. Okay, this is real detective work here. I'm gonna have to pull up my handy dandy notebook for this one. A single Cinnabun. Guess how many calories are in one Cinnabon. Just a single Cinnabon. Done. Okay. A Single Cinnabon is 880 calories. 880 calories with around 60 grams of sugar per bun. Okay. And that's just the basic one. That's not even one of the fan. Like, this is just a single basic Cinnabon 880. Wow. Some of you guys are thinking higher. You're like 1200, 1500, 3000. I mean, probably, you know, Anna says, and now I'm craving Cinnabon. Well, I mean, okay, Enrique does make a good side about, like, oh, you know, both sides suck or whatever. I do. I will say that I have heard a lot of people, I think even Donna bowling. Donna effing bowling. If, you know, you know, Donna bowling, even. I was talking to her this morning, and she was even saying that, like, if this were a dude that were the Bachelor, and he had a pass with dv and he had been arrested for that before, and he was then accused of it again. Like, he would absolutely, absolutely have been scrapped. He would have been pulled from this long ago. But, you know, we've moved away from toxic masculinity, and now we've moved into toxic feminism. Yay. But so, yes, a single cinnabon, 880 calories, 60 grams of sugar, which is bonkers. That is wild. And listen, I'm not that mad that they pulled out. Like, good for Cinnabon for sticking to their buns. Right? It's smart because, you know, they were the first ones. I think I said this on last night's Instagram Live. We go live on Instagram on Monday. Monday at 5:30 Pacific. Me, Molly and Donna. But so I'm glad that they are standing firm on this. And I think they're smart to have been the first to pull out, because, like, nobody cares when you're the eighth brand to pull out, right? Like, when you're the first, it's a big deal because you're leading the charge. You're making a statement. It's a declaration. You're not just following suit. But now, in terms of them scrapping the season altogether, abc, I don't think that they'll end up doing that. I know that there's speculation, and I've seen some reports, and I think that's more of just, like, inflammatory headlines like, oh, is it going to be pulled? Is it going to be canceled? I don't think that they actually will, though. I don't think they're gonna scrap the season. There's too much to lose. And I kind of feel like we're still gonna tune in. I mean, we're gonna be curious. I don't know if we'll stick through. I feel like the retention to the end maybe not. Because, like, what's the point? We already know she doesn't find love because she ends up back with Dakota at the end of it. Unless she comes out and says she was not into Dakota. And, like, that was not. We'll get into her. Her statement. But now there was a report, I think, in TMZ that said that the other contestants, the guys that she was dating, her suitors, they're upset. They feel duped. They feel, you know, like they were played, they were conned, and they were lied to, like Vicki Gunvalson. So I'm sure all the dudes now that signed up, I'm sure they are pissed. Like, this was their big moment. I'm sure they're all going to start lining up for their Life of a Showgirl podcast tour to trash Taylor for wasting their time when, let's be honest, she's the best thing that could have happened to them. Okay, Sorry. Not sorry. She's a headline snatcher. This is still going to be the biggest season of the Bachelorette. I don't remember the last time anybody outside of Bachelor Nation really cared or talked about the Bachelorette, but Taylor, Taylor, Frankie Paul is making it happen, okay? And you gotta give her that one thing that she can do is command a presence. So ABC just has to commit. And listen, while I do commend Cinnabon for, like, taking such a bold stance and spinning the PR back in their favor, you knew what you were getting into. Like, I'm sorry, don't tell me you didn't know who Taylor Frankie Paul was. Secret Lives and Mormon Wives episode one literally opens up with Taylor, Frankie Paul getting arrested for throwing a chair at Dakota, and then she gets pregnant. Like, hello, do you think we just fell out of a coconut tree? You don't even have to watch the entire season. You just have to watch one episode. The very first episode. Like, it's all out there. It's not like any of this was a secret. Her mugshot is all over the Internet from her 2023 arrest. It's not like this happened when she was in high school and she's a grown person. This happened in 2023. It was three years ago, and it's literally the first episode of Secret lives of Mormon wives. So if you're gonna be like, oh, what? Who is this girl? Who's that chick? You just turn on the tv, watch Hulu, and just. You just need one episode, less than an hour of your time. You would have gotten the full scoop with. And you would have seen how crazy and messy Taylor Frankie Paul is, you know? And her hair. You would have seen the hair. You would have seen the belly. I mean, she was giving 16 and pregnant, and she's what, like, 30? I'm just telling you, we all knew, you know, we all knew not. This is nothing new. Don't even need to watch the whole season. Just watch the first episode. So now they have to sit in the corner and think about their bad choices, okay? They need to sit there without their phones, and they just need to sit and be like, oh, I made bad choices, and I just have to live with this, right? Because we listen and we don't judge out loud, but we're judging pretty damn loud because you knew what you were doing, okay? You knew what you were doing, okay? That said Taylor Frankie Paul, who we know is the queen of mess. So she decided she was gonna go on Good morning America, and she wanted to address the scandal because obviously she has to promote the new season of the bachelorette. And listen, I'm sorry. Take my moral compass away from me. I'm gonna watch it. I'm gonna. I'm gonna see what it's all about. I was very invested when it was first announced, and then I was less invested when I saw this most recent season of Secret lives and Mormon wives. And now I'm, like, kind of a little invested, but I don't know if I'm going to stick around until the end, you know? I don't know. Dot Bo said it. Dot Bo, I think you're right. Booyah, baby. We got zactivated. Okay? So let's watch taylor frankie paul on. On Good morning America. She addressed the allegations against her. So let's just get into it, shall we, Here. Let's pull up the interview so that we can watch, we can support Taylor. She's so brave.
Good Morning America Host
Turn to our new bachelorette, the breakout star mom talk and the secret lives of Mormon wives. Taylor Franklin. Frankie Paul is with us. Good morning to you.
Taylor Frankie Paul
Good morning.
Good Morning America Host
I don't want to hear all about your bachelorette journey, but first I want to give you the opportunity to respond to recent headlines about the alleged domestic violence incident with your ex boyfriend. What do you want to share with us about this?
Taylor Frankie Paul
Honestly, I. It's been a heavy time to see the headlines, especially during this time of the bachelorette being released. And it's supposed to be a really exciting time. I'm a person that will always speak my truth and I'm, you know, that's what I'm known for. And so when the time is right, I will be. But right now, just trying to be in the present moment and focus on this. But the thing is, my kids do come first. My kids come first. And so it's been like just a back and forth process trying to be here in the present moment worrying about, you know, home and headlines. It's been stressful, to be honest.
Good Morning America Host
We did reach out to Dakota and he did not. We did not for escapement. We did not get a response from him. Now we have reports that the Secret Lives of Mormon Wives has paused production on the next season. I know there's a season on right now, and then season five was in production. Reports say it's been. It's paused. Is that true?
Taylor Frankie Paul
Honestly, I. I don't call the shots with production. So as of now, I have gotten word that it also has been paused, but I do not call those shots. So as far as I know, it. It was, but I don't know for how long.
Good Morning America Host
Anyway. I know you're one of the executive producers on the show.
Taylor Frankie Paul
Yeah, Yeah, I got told that this. This year. Oh, you didn't know? I. I didn't know. And I was like, what does that mean? You know, I was like. Like, I think just because we share our lives and we produce like our own, you know, lives.
Good Morning America Host
Yeah.
Taylor Frankie Paul
But I don't know if that necessarily what that. What that means.
Good Morning America Host
And how do you envision your future on that show?
Taylor Frankie Paul
How hard to say now.
Podcast Co-host or Guest
Right.
Taylor Frankie Paul
It's because of, you know, everything going on. It's hard to see past this. I'm not gonna lie. In this moment, it's just so hard to.
Podcast Host Zach Peter
Fired. Could we see her get fired? Do we want to see her get fired? I think she needs to understand the repercussions.
Taylor Frankie Paul
I mean, when your life is broadcasted out there in these headlines, it's like the end of the world. That's what it feels like. I'm not going to lie. But I will say I've been here before, and I got through it and, you know, shared my story, my light. So I'm hoping that I can do that again. Yeah.
Good Morning America Host
And you're about to share your journey with all of us on the Bachelorette. Your journey looking for real love. What made you decide to do that in the midst of being one of the Mormon wives? It's taking on a lot.
Taylor Frankie Paul
Oh, my gosh.
Good Morning America Host
Tell me about the decision to do it and why.
Taylor Frankie Paul
Well, for me, you know, the girls had gotten the opportunity to do Dancing with the Stars.
Podcast Host Zach Peter
Right.
Taylor Frankie Paul
And so I looked at that, and I was like, well, if they can do it and they have kids and they are going out chasing their dreams, like, why can't I? And so it maybe I was like, I want to do something that I want to do in that sense. So for me, dating as a mom of three is extremely difficult. So I was like, okay, so I got to go out, get away from my toxic cycle here in Utah, go date, and then also have my kids come out and visit me. That, to me, seemed like, why not? Right?
Podcast Host Zach Peter
So she. So she went to get away from her toxic cycle, only to then go back to her toxic cycle and choke out her baby daddy. Got it. Allegedly.
Taylor Frankie Paul
You don't realize how, like, we were talking a little bit, but just, like, how it can be exhausting, too, but you're finding the love of your life, and that's what you're. You're striving for. So it was hard but so fun and exciting at the same time. I'd be lying if I said it was just really easy.
Podcast Host Zach Peter
Yeah.
Taylor Frankie Paul
You know, it wasn't.
Good Morning America Host
Well, yeah. And we have an exclusive clip we're gonna show everyone right now. Okay.
Podcast Host Zach Peter
How does it feel to be a new Bachelorette?
Taylor Frankie Paul
It's wild and it's exciting. I'm nervous. So nervous.
Podcast Host Zach Peter
What are you hoping? So nervous because she might be pregnant. Spoiler from the finale of season four. Oh, no. Is she pregnant with Dakota's baby? No. That's for you.
Taylor Frankie Paul
A better version of me. And hopefully a husband, step dad. You know, it's your time.
Podcast Host Zach Peter
Stepdad Say the first one was about to pull up, but that's actually not going to happen. And you're going to find out why here? In just a moment.
Good Morning America Host
Oh, no. Was that a good surprise or a bad surprise?
Taylor Frankie Paul
It was a good surprise.
Good Morning America Host
Okay.
Taylor Frankie Paul
Yeah, yeah. I'm used to the scary surprises, but that one was. Was good.
Podcast Host Zach Peter
Oh, good.
Good Morning America Host
I'm glad you got a good surprise.
Taylor Frankie Paul
The Bachelor had nothing but good surprises, I will say.
Good Morning America Host
Oh, that's so great. Well, speaking of which, you gave us a surprise on Tik Tok. We saw this video where we see a man's arm. You're looking very cute there, and you seem very happy. Very perfectly shot, so you can't see a face. Is that somebody that's. Is in your life?
Taylor Frankie Paul
Someone that's in my life? Yes. Yeah, it's in my life. But can't give away too much. I'll ruin the surprise.
Good Morning America Host
Yeah, you're right about that. And, you know, I guess I knew you weren't going to tell us, because we love waiting. The season is about to launch. We love waiting that you find what you're looking for.
Taylor Frankie Paul
Thank you.
Good Morning America Host
Really do. And, everybody, you can watch.
Taylor Frankie Paul
I appreciate it.
Podcast Host Zach Peter
Yeah, she's looking for a happy ending with Dakota. That's what she's looking for. Okay. That's. That's the reality. Did this make you change anything about her? Were you like, oh, my God, I feel so much better now. I don't know. Oh, what is Nick Viall say? Okay, what's going on with Nick Viall? Because everyone, even Don, was like, oh, Nick Vile. Nick Vial. Nick Vile. And now I need to know what happened with Nick Viall. Let's go on Donna's Instagram or her. Her Twitter and see what she said. Oh, by Sheriff Nana. Nana Nano's people are trying to recall him. Snap. Let's see. Donna didn't tweet anything about Nick Viall. Oh, she did do a video. Should we. Oh, let's watch Donna Bolling's video. We're gonna show some love in the club to Donna. Bowling. We're gonna see what Nick Viall did. Now, I haven't kept up with Nick Viall. I try to avoid him at all costs, but I guess we're. We're gonna watch it. Sure.
Taylor Frankie Paul
If you know this or not, but I don't tell.
Good Morning America Host
Donna was responsible for Taylor, Frankie Paul. Just one.
Podcast Co-host or Guest
Well, it's. It's happened. Taylor, Frankie Paul is your next Bachelorette. You are welcome, Bachelor Nation. You're welcome, abc.
Taylor Frankie Paul
Your haters are trying to say that you have an inside source, and that's the only reason that you got it right.
Podcast Host Zach Peter
What do you mean?
Podcast Co-host or Guest
It was literally my Idea. Three months ago, I gave him the idea.
Taylor Frankie Paul
I feel like I am the source.
Podcast Co-host or Guest
I am the source.
Podcast Host Zach Peter
Do you see his comment?
Podcast Co-host or Guest
They had the idea on their own and then someone called me up just to be like, just so you know, three months ago, by the way, Nick
Taylor Frankie Paul
was like, this will save the franchise. If you guys want to do it, you should.
Podcast Co-host or Guest
You should. Maybe I know a little bit about this world.
Podcast Host Zach Peter
I don't know, producing maybe, you know,
Taylor Frankie Paul
it's going to be great.
Podcast Co-host or Guest
It's going to be fantastic. I'm glad the people who make these decisions finally made a good one.
Podcast Host Zach Peter
Made a good one.
Taylor Frankie Paul
Yeah.
Podcast Co-host or Guest
Hopefully don't it up.
Podcast Host Zach Peter
Well, well, well, well, Janelle. What a time. So thank you. Nick Viall, he's the one that set this up. Great. I think that's amazing for Nick and his ego. You know how much Nick loves his ego. Yeah. I don't know. But that's. I mean, did your opinion change of Taylor? Right. I feel like she kind of made it about herself. She didn't really take any accountability. She didn't really have any apology to issue to ABC or to Bachelor Nation or the fans of the Bachelor or the Mom Talk fans or her fellow cast members. Like literally nothing. It's just, you know, it's just. It's a really hard time for her. It's a, it's, it's heavy for her. I'm sorry. But if you want big brand deals, you got to play by the big brand rules, right? And she fumbled the ball epically. It's wild. Dakota issued his statement. This is what he had to write or this is what his rep had to say. His number one priority here is keeping Taylor wrapped around his finger. No, just kidding. They. His rep actually said his number one priority here is protecting their son ever. He knew there was a possibility it could come out, but he was not going to be the one to proactively do that because he's always wanted a decent relationship with Taylor and it's been really hard to achieve that. But he also wants to co parent. Well, his rep also denied any responsibility for any alleged domestic disputes that may or may not have happened between he and Taylor recently. And they continue by saying he was just hoping that if he says nothing as he usually does. Well, because, you know, he's all about actions, not words. Hello. If he says nothing as he usually does, it would go away. He's never done any kind of sit down interview about his side. He kind of just lets it all happen to him. And I think he realizes with the Severity of everything now that he just can't do that. Oh, poor baby. Oh, he's so innocent, Dakota. I mean, he's just the good guy, right? Like, we. We don't see him be terrible on this show at all. He doesn't continue to sign up to be on a reality show where he exploits his situationship with Taylor. Right. He doesn't keep dragging her back in. He doesn't do things to aggravate her, knowing that she's going to get aggravated. You know, he's just. It's not like he attends the reunions to get his side out. Right? Oh. Oh, poor baby boy. Bye. Alexa play. Heard it all before. Thank you. Next. Thank you. Next. Thank you. Next. It's just. It's so stupid. It's so annoying. I feel bad for their children. I feel bad that their kids are going to be raised in this environment where there's this tit for tat. And I just. I. I don't think that he's this innocent, you know? Oh, I was. I tried to protect her. I try to keep her name out. No, I think you aggravate her. I. I think you know what to do to get her fired up, because it turns you on to get her fired up because you love when she gets upset that you've done something or that you're with another woman. You're toxic. She's toxic. You're both toxic people. Okay, K anla says he's the most narcissistic. He's the most narcissistic addict for chaos to replace the drug high with this high. He is a poor excuse of a man. I mean, it's just. He's no victim in any of this. Exactly. They're both toxic. But I do think there's a double standard. And if it were a man, if this were the Bachelor and not the Bachelorette, I think they would have automatically pulled the show. Now it is Wednesday. I don't believe it airs until Sunday. I believe everyone says, Zach, thanks for tipping off my Alexa. Alexa play. Heard it all before, actually. Alexa play. Thank you. Next by Ariana Grande. Let's see how many Alexas go off. He's sabotaging her, and she is sabotaging herself. Exactly. And he's sabotaging her. I think I said this yesterday. He's doing this to intentionally sabotage her so that she has nowhere else to go but him. That's what these types of, like, narcissistic, toxic addicts. And, you know, I don't like to throw any of those terms around. But I believe they're pretty applicable in this case. I think he's intentionally doing this one to screw up her opportunity so that she can't go beyond her bubble of Utah because he doesn't want her to leave. He wants her to stay in his orbit. Right? And then if he continues to cut off circulation between her and other men, then that just keeps bringing her back to him, and the cycle just keeps repeating itself. I love it. Everybody's Alexis going off. I love it. I love it. Alexa, set a reminder for one hour from now to leave a review for no Filter with Zach Peter. I love it. Now in an hour, you're all gonna get reminders, okay? You're gonna get a reminder. I love it. I love it. Laura Rain says, what a delicious sponsor to lose. Right? Cinnabon. Is Zach giving us a new playlist, random shoutouts, and turning on Alexa. That's right. I know that's right. So now there's no excuse. Tomorrow, Apple podcasts should be flooded with reviews. Okay? Flooded with reviews. Because now Alexa is set to remind you, she's going to remind you to leave a review. And if you do not leave a review, I'm going to activate your Alexa again tomorrow. Laurie Jane says, oh, my God. Mine just set a reminder period. Laura says, that was genius, Zach. Exactly. Thank you. Next. Now, tomorrow, there should be a flood of new reviews. Okay? A flood. And make sure if your Alexa told you to do that, go into the reviews and say, alexa sent me. Alexa made me do it. Erica says, Alexa totally added that reminder. Okay, I love it. I'll stop saying her name now. Or. What is it? Google Home? Set a reminder to. What do they call Google Home? Do they have a Gemini? Gemini? What? What? Siri. Oh, sorry, my mind just went. No, sorry, that was an accident. Oh, my God. Amazing. Order Super Chat for no filter. That's right. Oh, my God. Can elect. Can she do that? Order a super chat on your behalf. Is your credit card activated? Oh, man. Amazing. Oh, it is. Hey, Google. Hey, Google. Set a reminder to leave a review for no Filter with Zach Peter in one hour. I love it. You guys, this is amazing. Like, what a life hack like, this is. This is groundbreaking for new podcasters and content creators. Oh, you're right. She's based on our voices, so you. They can't get triggered. That's true. Very true. Oh, my God, look at this. K. And I don't know if this was you or this was your robot, but thank you for the super, super sticker. What? Dollar, dollar bills. Y' all dollar, dollar bills. Zach smile of satisfaction is too cute. Thank you. Thanks. It made me very happy. I showed my hubby your T shirt. He loved it. Wait, you guys. I'm launching new merch in time for trial. Okay. You helped me decide if you are a member of the Zach Pack on supercast, then I asked you to weigh in. And so we will be launching three new pieces of merch. Okay. Are you ready? They're not available yet. They will be soon. I mean, all the classic merch is still available right now. If you would like to. To purchase. This is your last chance to purchase any of these. We're gonna have a new never with teeth shirt. So this one's gonna. Well, we're gonna have a new color of the. The never with T shirt. And we're gonna have a new one that. That says no filter. Investigative crew. Investigative team. Something like that. So, yes, we're working on the new designs right now. Boom. Let's get it. So you. If you are part of the investigative crew. Here you go. Thank you. Next. Thank you. Next. Thank you. Next. Ha. I love it. I can't wear the never with teeth shirt around here. I'd get too much attention. That's what you want. You want the attention. Be like never with teeth. You know, I don't wear T shirts. What do you wear? Thongs? Like, what do you. Jock straps? Bodysuits? How do you know who doesn't wear a shirt? You don't wear a shirt. You're just titties out all day. All day, every day. Hi, Stephanie. Stephanie. Streaming on X. What up? I feel like secret lives of Mormon wives got really dark. Sa dv. Yeah, I just. Yeah, I think we've just desensitized like this new. This new generation is so desensitized to these types of things that they just do and say things. You're pushing up your goobs. What are guy boobs? Is that. I thought they're called man boobs. Goobs. Does that stand for guy boobs? Do I have guy boobs? Do you get a discount on merch with the super cast membership? Yes, you do. That's what's going to be rolling out. So if you are a member on Supercast, not only will you get a discount on merch, but you'll get early access to the new merch as well. You'll get first dibs so that you can buy them before they sell out. So stay tuned for that. That will be coming in April, so. And. And I will be doing another merch campaign. So I will be donating again to the no More Foundation. So there you go. It's all about the merch these days, am I right? It is all about the Marchesis. Well, I also have to decide with the merch. So normally I was going to do the donation to the no More Foundation. Remember last time our merch campaign raised over $6,000. I think I donated 6,600. Yeah, $6,600 is what I donated for that merch campaign for the original justice for Justin launch. And then we've done other merch campaigns since then. But I was thinking, like, should I do. I know we've also donated to Home Life Community, which I don't know if we want to do Home Life Community again. That's for adults with autism on the autism spectrum. We're building facilities to help care for them, give them a place to live. Because I know that's like a really big. I mean, obviously, you know, my brother Ethan, he just turned 24. He. Yeah, he just turned 24, and he's an adult now with autism. And, like, the reality that a lot of people face when they have kids with autism is like, who's going to take care of them when they get older? What's going to happen when their parents are no longer here and they become wards of the state? So you want to give them a place to live? And that's what Home Life Community is trying to do. And. And being that April is Autism Awareness Month, I was like, should we do Home Life Community? Should we do Home life community or nomore.org because that was Justin Baldoni's foundation. Yeah, I don't know. So we'll. We'll think about guts to think about it. Okay. That said, let's talk about. Oh, my God. Okay, so moving on to the latest hit pieces on new media. You know, I just love when traditional media loves to shit on the new media. Okay, so two things came out this week. First up here, let's pull up the first one. The first up. Cause these, they be coming out. They be out for blood. So first up, there was this hit piece in the New York post claiming that YouTubers like JLR investigates. I know you guys are fans of jlr. JLR is out there trying to find Nancy Guthrie. And JLR, the New York Post said that people, YouTubers like JLR are making thousands of dollars from ghoulishly hanging around crime scenes and unfounded theories surrounding the Nancy Guthrie disappearance. Okay. Which I find laughable because JLR himself responded and made it very clear that the New York Post photographer was also camped outside of Nancy's house for days trying to make money off of the Nancy Guthrie case. So to me, it's just hypocritical, okay? Super hypocritical. They're all doing the same shit. They all want to get the same scoop. They're all following the same stories. They're just mad that they're not as good at the job. Because the media has shifted, right? Everything has changed. You know, it's not. The gatekeepers of media are no longer these traditional media outlets. It has shifted, okay? It's just what it is now, right? Oh, does JLR make money? Yeah, duh. It's so wild that, like, they always think that this is like, the big smoking gun is that we make money.
What?
We make money. Say what? Did you guys know that? Did you guys know that I make money off of this show? That when you guys tune in and I read my advertisements to you, or there's an ad that pops up. I bet you didn't know this. I make money very similar to how New York Post makes money. New York Times makes money. Us Weekly makes money. Perez Hilton makes money. Just Jared makes money. All of these media outlets. The LA Times makes money. LA Magazine makes money. The California Post makes money. They all. We all make money. We're all doing this, okay? We're all covering the same stuff. And listen, the media has done a number of. Of, you know, clickbait stories in the past, so it's not really that unique, you know? Really, Zach? I didn't know that's how that worked. Wow. I know. Isn't that crazy? TMZ makes money. Shocking. Yeah. Shocking. Isn't that crazy? I mean, sarcastic af. Yes, we we know. Okay. So, yes, I was a little annoyed. But then I also saw this one, okay, from Variety. This one's where it's a little, you know. So Variety put out this story and they say, Jake Shane, Vanity Fairs, Oscars party interviews are going viral for all the wrong reasons. And then they put out this entire piece just dragging Jake Shane. Okay, let's get into the Jake Shane of it all. Because I kind of, I do feel kind of bad for him, right? Like, he's a sweet boy. I don't think he knows how to handle a scandal. You know, he doesn't really know how to be dragged. He doesn't know what. Like, I just feel like this is probably, like he's probably hiding under his blankets right now, right? Because not only is the Internet coming for him, but Variety, like, it really gunned hard for him with this piece that they wrote. So he was hired by Vanity Fair to host the Vanity Fair Oscars party red carpet. And now he's going viral, as they mentioned in their tweet. But it's not because his interviews were any good. It's not because he had some really funny moments. It's not because there was any, you know, there were any memes that came out of this, particularly it's being dragged online because it was super cringe. Everything about it was cringe. I do kind of agree with Variety that it was a terrible job. Right now I hate when old media attacks new media. And I hate, hate, hate when they come for creators. And I always stand up here with my chest puffed out and my 10 toes down and I stand up for the creators. But I will say this one's a little more nuanced, right? There are a few more layers to this because this is one piece by Variety that I'm actually going to co sign to a degree. Okay, to a degree. Because they keep putting influencers on these red carpets to interview celebrities and they don't prepare them, they don't teach them how to do it. So it's kind of like the Wild west, right? They're so used to clickbaity content or fast paced content or funny content and songs and dances and doing all that stuff. But that's not what that medium is for, right? Like a lot of these award shows, they still take themselves so seriously, right? Like, they're so stuffy and so pretentious and like, I'm not gonna do a tick tock dance. Like, it's just. It's not like you haven't found a way to merge the worlds that just getting the influencers and throwing them onto the carpet and being like, dance, monkey, dance. This will keep us relevant. It's not keeping you relevant. It's making you a joke, okay? And it's ruining the. The pedigree. It's ruining the prestige of your establishment because you still take yourself so seriously with your nose and stuck up in the air, right? Some people. I will say there are some creators that I think can pull it off successfully, and I think that they've done a great job. So this isn't like a blanket shade to all creators that are doing interviews on red carpets, because some of them I've actually seen do a very good job. Some of them I actually know, and I thought that they've, you know, they really found a way to stay true to their content, but also find a way to be unique and creative and not be offensive to the talent that's walking the carpet. Not that I'm saying that they deserve the utmost respect, but, like, they do take themselves very seriously that, like, you know, it's a delicate dance you have to play to, like, massage their ego while not hurting their ego if you want to continue with the opportunities. And it's like, it's a whole thing, right? So like I said, some people can pull it off very successfully, while others, I feel like, are just happy to be there, and they're just happy to, like, post about it on Instagram, be like, I look cool, and so they don't really try. And the worst part is some of them are terrible at it, right? They don't care about doing a good job. They just phone it in. They think that they earn this opportunity. And. And here's my advice to people, right? Cause I've been doing this for a very, very, very, very, very long time. I've had many iterations. I've utilized all of the different platforms. I've been able to cultivate followings on all of the different platforms. I've been able to build a name for myself that extends beyond just one or two platforms, right? And it's because there are so many ebbs and flows and ups and downs of this industry. And the problem with influencer culture is that it then gives people such an ego. The people that I meet and that have gone viral and that suddenly think that they are God's gift to the planet, I'm like, baby, this can be gone in two years. Like, you need to be thinking what you're doing two years from now, right? Five years from now. How are you going to stay relevant My podcast alone, I've had for 11 years. Next month, right? Come April, it will be 11 years, and no filter. Has continued to grow, has continued to make press and headlines, and had major groundbreaking interviews. The show has evolved into multiple different iterations and over that last 11 years, but I've been able to sustain it and make it my sole income. I mean, not my sole income, but my primary income. Right. Cause I do, you know, I have brand deals. I have, you know, social media stuff that, like, all of that definitely funnels into the business. But, like, my bread and butter is this podcast, and I built it that way. And there have been many ups and downs with this podcast over the years, right? And there are mistakes that have been made. There are tech issues that have really hurt everything. You know, not gonna. I'm gonna get off my soapbox. But I'm just saying that, like, that's not to say that influencers shouldn't get opportunities, because I support them getting new opportunities. And to be honest, I'm gonna say something that's probably a little controversial, but influencer culture is becoming or is replacing what we used to know of as celebrity culture, right? People are tired of celebrities, but people feel connected to creators. Some are great, some are not. Some are annoying, some are cringe, right? But they are replacing what. What the culture was traditionally, you know, amplifying for celebrities. And celebrity culture and celebrities in general are just kind of growing stale and fading into obsolete, you know, extinction. Sorry. Not sorry. But influencers, creators, YouTubers, podcasters, whatever you want to call them, they have hacked the cultural relevance. They have become the new zeitgeist of culture. So whether you like them or you hate them, you can't avoid them, and you can't stop talking about them. They're here to stay. But it's about how do we utilize them in a way that pushes culture forward and doesn't have these culture clashes like this Jake on the Vanity Fair carpet moment, right? You need to know where, not when, not to stick around. Peg in a square hole. And Jake Shane. I'm sorry, he's charming, he's adorable, he's a cutie patootie, but he does not have the skill set of a reporter, and he's not a skilled interviewer. Sorry. He's a good conversationalist, right? So when you sit him on a couch and you throw somebody, you know, on another couch next to him, and they're, like, feet propped up, and they're kind of just, like, chilling and talking and, oh, my God, girl. Yes, mama. Like Cool. He can do that. But there's a reason reporters do what they do, right? And I get why they're bitter. They were sold this idea that if they go to school and they get a journalism degree and they work really hard and they climb the corporate ladder and get a good job at a good media agency, that they're set. But culture is changing. And this is where you also have to kind of look at college culture and like, what do you really want to do? How do you want to get there? It's about work and grit and staying alive in the game, whatever you do. Like I talked about being alive with the podcast for 11 years. But like, whatever game, whatever industry you want to go into, you have to know how to stay alive. And sometimes that means you got to pivot. Sometimes that means that the dream you had or the this, whatever you bought into, and I get it, you had a rack up student loan debt, you had to get coffee and get treated like shit by your bosses only to work your way up. And now you've worked your way up and now you're not culturally relevant because your media agency is dying. Right? Well, again, you need to know when to pivot and when to jump off of a sinking ship, get off of the Titanic, find yourself a lifeboat and build something new for yourself. If you're going to sit around and cry about your student den, I'm sorry, I don't fucking feel bad for you. You need to work hard to play hard, right? So I get why they're bitter, but I also am like, but you need to, you know, you need to keep finding ways to grow, and it's not. I know that the idea was to go to college and to work for one of these agencies and to grow within that company, but now you need to find other ways to grow. Look at how many reporters got really smart and savvy. Look at Brian enten tapped into YouTube, tapped into X. So many of these reporters are tapping into substack. They're finding ways to stay relevant and they're smart at it. And the ones that are staying back and staying bitter about it, sorry, you're gonna get left behind if you don't start jumping ship now. So as somebody that's been interviewing and hosting for, I mean, I would say maybe 15 years now, I can confidently say that it's a skill set that you have to develop when it comes to doing a red carpet or just doing an interview in general. Right. My first ever, I had this like, teeny tiny little Internet radio show. I used to do in high school. After that, I started doing stand up comedy, which led to hosting on YouTube. I had a teeny tiny little YouTube show back in college, which ultimately led to no Filter and led to this podcast that I've had again for 11 years now. And it led to me moderating panels at events, conferences, festivals. I started hosting live streams for this digital online network, this digital company called Afterbuzz. I was, I did that for about a year and a half. I was also hosting with the ringer, Spotify's the Ringer for a year and a half. You know, I would moderate, I would sit on panels in front of live audiences. I've had this show for no filter for nearly 11 years now. I've done three national podcast tours with this show. So whether it's been long form, short form, pre recorded, live, taped in front of an audience, or just by myself in front of a camera, or moderating a live chat like this forum right here, I've done this for a very long time and I've navigated all of the different types of hosting, right? So that said, even I turn down every single red carpet gig that I'm offered everyone, I tell my team, no, I don't want to do red carpets. I'm not interested in red carpets. It's not for me. I can do it. And trust me, if I were to do it, if I wanted to lean into that, I could do it successfully. I know I could fucking kill it, you know, because I've learned the art of hosting. I've learned the art of commanding a presence. I've learned the art of interviewing, right? But I won't, I'm not interested in it. It doesn't really feel like my place. It's not culturally relevant. I mean, the fact that they're throwing influencers on red carpets is just traditional red. Or like these events, these award shows, whatever, it's them just trying to stay relevant. And to me, it's a desperate attempt to try and stay relevant. I don't want to be in that category, you know, and, and that's no shade or knock to anybody else that's doing it because like I said, there are some people that are doing it that are doing it really well, but it's not my place and it's not for me. I'm trying to think of where I want to be in the future, and I don't see that as something that has longevity anymore. Right? And not only that, but I see a lot of the quality of people that they're now Letting onto these carpets, that I think is cheapening that altogether. So, sorry, but I'm gonna pass. And so I understand why Jake Shane is getting the heat that he's getting, right? And again, that's not to say that there aren't some creators that can do it and do it really well. And they're great at it. They have charisma, they know how to command a presence, and they're really quick on their feet. Like, all of those things you need to be sharp with, right? Especially when you're only getting, at best, two minutes with talent that's coming down and they have to make their way and they're annoyed because they have to talk to all of these different people. And depending on where you're lined up on the carpet, you get them first or you don't get them at all. And so it is annoying, it is frustrating. It's like an hour and a half, two hours of your time. You only get 30 seconds to a minute. Maybe you get to ask them two questions, maybe three questions if you're lucky. It's just. It does take a skill set. You have to monitor everybody else that's coming on the carpet, which celebs are coming. How much time do I have to spend with this person? What am I gonna ask them? What's a unique question that I can ask this person that every other person is not going to ask them? Do I have to promote their show? How do I do that in a creative way that's also gonna be interesting to people that are gonna watch this online? Cause a lot of these red carpet interviews are boring. You have to find a way to create a compelling piece of content while also not offending the talent, boosting up their ego so that they continue to feel the trust with you. And they'll keep coming back to you if they see you on carpets in the future, monitoring who else is coming down the carpet so that you can secure and land that. A lot of times you're, like getting harassed by publicists to interview this person that you don't even give a shit about, you don't even know about. So you have to think of something creative to ask them. And again, sometimes those are boring questions that are not going to land well when you post the clip on social media. So you have to constantly be thinking about all of these things when you're in that. That medium, Right? And so some of some creators have done it very well. Overwhelmingly, many of them suck. And that's just me being transparent. And they don't care to get better because they don't really have to get better, right? At least with reporters, they had to earn the status to be the one in front of the camera asking questions. That's an earned status that they had to build towards. They had to be good at something in order to get that position. A lot of influencers don't have to. They just had to have a cute, A funny, A few cute viral moments with doing a little dance or ranting while putting their makeup on or something, you know, and listen, there are a lot of reporters that are great at it and there are some of them that suck at it too. You know, it's not necessarily one or the other. It's just the vetting process is kind of bad right now. Jake Shane, cutie, sweetheart, ill equipped to nail this gig 1000%. All the criticism that he's getting right now I believe is 100% warranted. But it's also part of this game, right? Look at Taylor, Frankie, Paul. If you want to grow, you have to learn how to craft your reputation, your image in a way that is going to relate to people and it's going to make them continue to root for you. Not what she's doing, which is the opposite, which then fumbled this ball so epically for ABC and Hulu and Disney and I mean, come on, abc, Hulu, Disney, like those are, they want to keep a squeaky clean image for the Bachelorette. They didn't want, you know, tarnished goods. And unfortunately, Taylor brings a lot of drama and chaos and toxicity and that's just kind of where they're at. Right? But when it comes to Jake Shane, as much as, you know, I, I do think that the criticism is warranted. I do feel bad for him. But like, this is part of the game, right? You got to get banged up sometimes. It builds character, it forces you to get better. You know, it builds that strength. And I always talk about like, like dealing with online trolls is like going to the gym. The more you do it, the more you condition yourself, it's going to hurt, it's going to suck at first, you're going to feel sore. But you do get stronger and it builds you up and it builds up your confidence, it builds up your skill set. I guarantee you, if Jake Shane were offered another opportunity on another red carpet, I don't know, I don't want to do that. But if he were, he's going to come a lot more prepared. He's going to make sure he's skilled and trained and is better than he was before. And then if he gets another gig, he's going to be even better at that time if he chooses to continue to excel. Right. But I'm pretty sure he will get better at that because he'll learn from this experience. So. And listen, from what I know of Jake, I'm hoping for the best. But from what I know of him and his content, I don't know if he'll receive it that way. I don't know if he'll react that way. He may need to take two months off or to go to a mental health spa and do a digital detox and turn his phone off and, you know, do the very Gen Z taking care of my mental health thing. Good for you. But listen, if you want to play with the big boys, you better be ready to get tackled. And after you get tackled, you better learn how to get back up. And that's what this industry is. That's what this game is. You know, Jewel says, I know I'm behind, but wherever. Taylor, Frankie Paul has a big moment for herself. Dakota's drama seems to come to a head and ruin her moment. Yep. And I think that's deliberate. Content creators expose the cracks. Yes, they do. But they're. Listen, we're in the transition period of like, we. It hasn't fully transitioned, and so there's, you know, it's in the shuffle. I love Zach's spunkiness. Thank you. Sounds like you would kill it. Listen, I know what I'm doing, but I also knew, no, when an opportunity just isn't in alignment for me, you know, I would ask a scandalous question. So here's the hard part, Elizabeth. And this is another reason I don't like to do red carpet interviews, is you can't ask a scandalous question because their publicist is there. And the publicist will gatekeep what you can ask how much time you get. And if you do one wrong thing, one wrong time, if you ask, you know, look at Jenny Slate. Right. Or not Jenny Slate and Anna Kendrick. Sorry, look at Anna Kendrick at South by Southwest amid the Blake Lively, Justin Baldoni drama. And there was a. Was it Variety or Vanity Fair? It was someone. It was one of those big publications, and they asked Anna Kendrick. They didn't ask her directly, but they alluded to the drama with Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni. And I guarantee you that person got their ass handed to them. Because the publicists are there and they tell you, you're not allowed to ask about this. You're not allowed to talk about this. You get One question, maybe two questions if you're lucky, three questions. If you're at the end of the carpet, screw it. You're not even getting one question. You're going to be part of whoever is left at the end of the carpet. Collectively, you all better get it. Get this person into the shot, because you're all going to get to ask one question, and you better all hope you get a good angle of the answer to that one question. It's just, you know, it's tough. But you cannot ask the scandalous questions because that's how you get your ass banned from the carpets. So as. As well in. Because that's what you would think, right? Like, let me try to make this a buzzworthy moment. But then you also have to play your card smart. And unfortunately, it's just, you know, crazy, crazy, crazy. Blake Lively found out the hard way. Content creators tell the truth. Yes. And that's why there is a benefit to content creators, and that's why I always will defend creators. But this is one time where I think, you know, I'm not fully on the side of content creators because I do think there are a lot of people that come into the market and. And they don't provide quality. They provide cheap, quick, clickbait likes. And I'm not, you know, that ain't me. You know, Zach would actually put in the work, period. You better work. Work it, Zach. No red carpet on the social zone. Listen, I'm doing the damn thing. Gotta do it, do it, do it, do it, do it. You're doing it. Well, Zach can tackle me anytime. He can go for the Rachel sound bath to recover. Oh, my God. Have you seen that? Rachel. Rachel Levis. Raquel. Rocky. Rocky Bang Bang. See, if you didn't know me from Scandival, I gave her that nickname. Rocky, Rocky Bang Bang. Ivan says, do you think ABC got this girl on purpose? First of all, can we just have a moment of appreciation for Ivan's booty? Like, my goodness. And I don't feel bad saying that because that's literally his. His profile picture. Can we all just, like, take a moment to appreciate the booty? Wait, Ivan, can we see? I'm gonna, like, actually pull up. I'm afraid that if we pull up your. Your ex. That you're gonna have, like, onlyfans content. But wow, what great legs. What great legs you have, my dear. That said, do I think that ABC intentionally. No, because ABC has a wholesome image. They have a wholesome brand. So I think that they thought that there was going to be the same success that they had, like with Whitney Levitt on Dancing with the Stars or even Jen on Dancing with the Stars. And I think that they thought that this was going to be a smart way to merge all the worlds together. And I think it just epically. I don't think that they thought Taylor, Frankie, Paul would do something to screw up the opportunity. Right. If her past came up, they could say she's moved on from that. She's grown from that. She's ready for love now. Unfortunately, that does not appear to be the case. She seems to be the same old person doing the same old things. Ms. Quishy says not all content creators are great just because Zach has a lot of talent and it's a show that I can play around my two year old. She likes Zach and Donna's voices. Oh, that's so sweet. Thank you. K. Ann says, second one I'm sending, but I'm just so proud of you. Thank you. K. And Law, you, girl. You're an executive producer. That was hilarious. And she's like, I don't even know what that means. I mean, I guess it was probably just like a vanity title, but that was kind of embarrassing for her. Like, truly, you know, not a good look. I don't think that her GMA did. Oh, my God. Rocky, Rocky Bang Bang. Do you remember? Were you here for the Rocky, Rocky Bang Bang. Can we, like, I also was so pissed because I remember one time Raquel went on her Instagram and she's just like, you know, when I was in high school, they used to call me Rocky. And the other day I, like, met this guy at a festival and he asked for my phone number and I put in his phone, rocky, Rocky Bang Bang. And she's like, I just came up with that nickname because I'm owning Rocky. I'm like, I gave you that nickname. I was the one who called you Rocky, Rocky Bang Bang when you were sleeping with Tom Sandoval behind Ariana's boy back. And we were covering that. So I was a little annoyed by that. I was like, girl, sit down. Do not try to steal my nickname and then say that you came up with it on your own. You're not that interesting and you're not that creative. Okay? The most creative thing you ever did was sleep with Tom Sandoval. Thank you, Heather. Heather says you are growing fast. Growing fast. I've been at this for over a decade, my love. But thank you. I appreciate that. What do they say it takes 10 years to be an overnight success? Oh, my God, I remember that. Thank you, Megan. Megan's been here for a minute. Megan knows Russ says Zach is Will. Well, is well known enough that people know she didn't think of that herself. Exactly. It was just so wild. Yes. Hit the like button, guys. Hit that like button. Hit it, hit it, hit it. How can. How can you forget that? Zach? You definitely named her. I know. Can you believe that? The audacity. Ain't that the truth? Even more creative. When she was inquired Tom about a throuple. Oh, my God. Remember that? The old scandal days were wild. And now Rachel. Now she's Rachel. She's not Raquel anymore. She's Rachel. And she just sound baths. She's like, that's where Jake Shan's gonna go to Rachel's sound bath. With her rocket scientist boyfriend. Remember that story? Oof. These are throwbacks gems, okay? That said, I love you, I appreciate you. Give me a follow. Oh, Jewel says, I was there for Rocky. Rocky. Bang, bang, I died. That was. I was there for scandal and the Heather McDonald and Jeff Lewis drama. All the tea. I know. See, people are like, you're known for Blake Lively, or now you're known for Nancy Guthrie. I'm like, baby, I have had so many moments. Nancy Guthrie, Blake Lively. I'm also. There's, like, a niche portion of the Internet that follows me for the Catholic school kid rants that I did over the holidays where I talked about growing up and going to Catholic school and the CCD kids and all that fun stuff. The LA Fires was a viral moment for me last year when I was calling those out. Onijah Robinson, the woman from New York that ended up in Pakistan. Remember her? That was a fun viral moment. We did that. Housewives. Erika Jayne Scandival. Yeah, listen, I've had many iterations, okay? Rosetta Stone. Oh, my God, you guys are going to die. I just got an email from my team the other day, and they're like, would you be interested in working with Rosetta Stone? And I was like, of course. Like, can we please get. Oh, Helen Keller. Oh, man, you guys are dropping all the gems. Helen Keller was a good one. Oh, man, we're still gonna go down the Helen Keller. You cover it all. Thank you. That's why when people try to pigeonhole me, and they're like, you're Bravo. You're Blake Lively. You're Nancy Guthrie. I'm like, baby, if you've been around, you know, we got it all. But could you imagine if Rosetta Stone becomes a sponsor? We're talking to Them. It's in the works. It's in the works. It's in the planning. I would love to have Rosetta Stone. Would you guys buy Rosetta Stone? If I came on here and promoted, I was like, biblioteca escuela. What are some other fun words in. What is biblioteca? Is that library or is that bibliography beef with Adam? I mean, those were. That was. That was a period. The beef with Adam was wild. I'm so glad that that's so far in the past. Laura Modern says, yes, I will buy Rosetta Stone. We'll all do Rosetta Stone together. Wouldn't that be amazing? We'll learn a new language together and we'll be like, guys, what did you learn today on Rosetta Stone? We will make Rosetta Stone relevant again. Right? Who. What are the. The new ones that are trying to come up? Babel We're OG Rosetta Stone all the way. I also didn't know what Rosetta Stone the name came from. They didn't teach me that. And Catholics. Well, thank you.
