A
The funny thing about diving into your past is you don't know how much weight you're gonna have to shed before you can come up for air. So that's when I reached out to the girl. I think for the two of us, it's not just our story. Our stories are kind of intertwined. There have been so many times in my life where I have wondered if I have walked past him on the street, if I would recognize him now. I don't think of myself as being someone that freezes. I think of myself as being someone that would fight.

It never felt right to me. I never told anybody. I didn't tell my sister. The good no longer outweighs the bad, and I need you out of my life. Later on in life, I would actually question too. Like, was she also abused? It was a very dark time for me in that household. For the first time in my life, there was no way for me to even try to have control. And so I just kind of let it go.
