Welcome to Design youn Strongest year ever, a 26 day special edition of the nonprofit Mastermind podcast. I'm your host, Rukruchi Babbage. I created this series because I believe that how your year ends is determined by what you do now in August, not in November. My work is rooted in the idea that intentional design, not more hustle, is what determines how far your mission can scale. So every day I'll share one very simple but very powerful lesson shift or tool you can use right now to prepare yourself for year end and for each one. If you sign up for the emails that go with these episodes, I've created a worksheet or prompt. You can collect them as you go and have a whole bundle. Finally, if the day's topic hits a nerve, I'll point you towards the most relevant of my implementation toolkits. For the length of this series, I'm offering 26% off all purchases. Let's dive in so I know that.

The word infrastructure is not sexy. It's kind of a buzzkill word. But infrastructure is what makes or breaks your ability to scale. Here's the core belief shift that I just want you to just sit with for today's episode. Hiring your way out of overwhelm won't work if your systems can't support a bigger team. Adding more programs won't get you to more impact if your systems and infrastructure can't support greater complexity. Every new person, every new program, every new partnership, every new dollar adds complexity. And without the right workflows and templates and systems and tools, you end up managing the chaos. You and your team. You don't have the capacity to hold it organizationally and so you hold it personally. So today I want to ask you this. What is one system or lack of system that is causing recurring friction for you or people on your team? What's the one thing that you keep fixing manually over and over? You can use the worksheet in today's email. It's a really great checklist. It's an organizational infrastructure audit. You can go through the checklist. It will help you pinpoint the systems. You can start with one that if upgraded, would actually change everything for you and your team. And if you want a full infrastructure playbook, my Resilience ready toolkit is your go to pre drafted policies, plug and play systems, entire governance tools for your board. The idea here is that invisible systems are what help you make visible progress. So I've designed these resources to make sure your back end is ready for the front end growth. That you're working towards. You can grab the worksheet at brookrichybabbage.com ABC strategies and the Resilience Ready toolkit at brooke ritchiebabbage.com Resilience Ready.

It's kind of a buzzkill word," but immediately follows with its undeniable importance: "infrastructure is what makes or breaks your ability to scale."
He presents a pivotal mindset change for nonprofit leaders:
Every expansion—be it new hires, programs, partnerships, or funding—introduces "complexity." Without robust workflows, templates, systems, and tools, organizations risk devolving into chaos. This chaos not only hampers organizational capacity but also burdens individual team members personally.
The guest challenges listeners to introspect by asking:
"What is one system or lack of system that is causing recurring friction for you or people on your team? What's the one thing that you keep fixing manually over and over?"
To facilitate this reflection, he references a "worksheet in today's email," described as an "organizational infrastructure audit." This checklist is designed to help leaders identify and prioritize systems that, once upgraded, can revolutionize their operations.
For those seeking comprehensive support, he introduces the "Resilience Ready Toolkit," which includes:
He encapsulates the essence of infrastructure with the statement: "Invisible systems are what help you make visible progress." Ensuring that the backend is robust paves the way for sustainable frontend growth.
