Jamie
You're not gonna see what's going on.
Cutter
Well, I wanted to start the show. You start the show, which is just right into it.
Jamie
I love that. I don't even know. I don't even know I do that. Go ahead. Sorry.
Cutter
Yes. Maybe we should acknowledge the fact that I am sitting in Rob's seat today, because this is Jamie's show. I'm running the show. Thank you. Oh, yes. Booth boys giving me a round of applause. We'll see how it goes. I have been preparing a short list of things to talk about with Rob for weeks, and we are here.
Jamie
Nah.
Cutter
Okay. It depends how, you know, Depends the math you want to do, but here we are.
Jamie
And I'm so excited. Just so you know. I'm so excited coming here. I felt like I was going to your wedding. Like that. Same vibe.
Cutter
Wow.
Jamie
Yeah. Like you're just looking out the window. You're like, wow, this is Jamie's big day.
Cutter
It's my big day. Well, I don't know if you've seen this, but they have a toilet that uses AI Has a camera attached to it, and it will analyze pictures of your poo poo and measure your gut health every time you poop. Would you love that?
Jamie
So what does it send pictures of my poop to my phone and then comment on it?
Cutter
The camera clips to the toilet and cuts the crap and tells you how healthy your inside are. So it takes a pic. I must. Must be. It must be with an app. Yeah. And it will analyze your poop. And then we could sit and talk about it. And then we could sit here and talk about. Cause you know, I said I don't like to turn around to look at the poop, but maybe if it was taking a picture and giving me information, then maybe I'd have more things to talk about. Would you like that?
Jamie
I think so. What maybe we can do is we both get it, and then we print out our reports and we give it to the booth boys and see if they could pick Whose poop is who they think.
Cutter
Oh, I like that idea. You can guess which. What came out of who.
Jamie
Look at our report cards and they'll.
Cutter
Be like, jamie ate the plum.
Jamie
Yeah. You know, we'll both eat the plum and then. And then report back.
Cutter
Well, no, that might. The camera might be, like, too much.
Jamie
Wouldn't you be a little worried of, like, a camera in your toilet? Like. Like. Of, like. Are they watching me shit here?
Cutter
I don't know. That's my worst nightmare. I don't know. We'll do more research on it. Who care cares at this point, my.
Jamie
Worst nightmare is somebody like, I know when I did Lauren Compton's podcast, she's like, oh, when I'm dating somebody, I. I. I want to be in the room when they're like, I always want to be with them. Yeah. And I. To me, that is my worst nightmare. Like, a girl who. A girl, period. But a girl who I'm dating in the room with me while I'm. It's the most disgusting.
Cutter
That's bizarre. Wow. Well, there's a lid for every pot, isn't there?
Jamie
Yes.
Cutter
Anyway, I have another question for you. I know you love to go to the gym.
Jamie
I do.
Cutter
Right? And I know that you are also very clean.
Jamie
I am.
Cutter
Did you know that I need to. There is more bacteria. 362. You knew this? There was 362 times more bacteria on gym equipment than a toilet seat.
Jamie
This also goes for the bottom of a woman's purse. Yeah, same thing.
Cutter
So when you go to the gym.
Jamie
I'm a man in there. I'm a man in there.
Cutter
So you don't wipe your shit down before you use it?
Jamie
I don't give a.
Cutter
You're not thinking about the germs when you're. Oh, my God.
Jamie
Not even a little bit.
Cutter
How are you?
Jamie
I'm Jim Robbie.
Cutter
Jim Robbie. You have an alter ego.
Jamie
Yeah, he doesn't care.
Cutter
Tell me more about Jim Robbie. What else doesn't he not care about when I do?
Jamie
Like, I won't. I actually. In the. Like, I won't use towels in the gym.
Cutter
Like, even clean ones in the locker room.
Jamie
Never. Never.
Cutter
Why?
Jamie
Because I see guys in the sauna, like, wiping their sweat, blowing their nose with it, wiping their armpits. And, like, I'm gonna wipe.
Cutter
Washing machine. Machine will get that out.
Jamie
No, washing machine gets away. Another guy's snot in a song. Like, I don't want anything to do with it. So, okay. When I get in the sauna or. Yeah, I just. I Just won't. Like, you know, people walk around with a towel, wipe their sweat. This. I'll just sweat. I won't. I refuse. But touching weights and stuff doesn't bother me at all. I wore gloves in the beginning and I was like, come on, you fucking.
Cutter
You wore gloves?
Jamie
Like workout gloves? And I was like, come on, you fucking pussy.
Cutter
Were out, though.
Jamie
Oh, yeah, they were.
Cutter
But. So then when you're done working out, do you immediately go to the. To the locker room and wash your hands?
Jamie
No.
Cutter
So you'll touch your shit and your bag and the.
Jamie
I don't have a bag. I just have my. What I do. So when I get home. When I get home. Well, I touch my phone the whole time when I'm in there. When I get home, first thing I do when I walk in, I won't even take wipes, anything. I take two paper towels, I put rubbing alcohol on it, and I fully clean my phone. I even switch the ringer on to off to on to off, just to make sure I get anything even in there. I clean my phone extremely. And then I do alcohol on the hands, wash the hands, and then I'm back. Jim. Jim Robbins.
Cutter
He likes Jim Robbie. Like, you let it all go like a spirit. Wow, I'm so glad to know Jim Robbie. I didn't know that that existed, but.
Jamie
I also have a lot of things where, like. And again, my. My neuroses don't make sense. But there's a lot of people who will say, like, you would never get a dog because you wouldn't pick up dog poop. And I'm like, I would pick up dog poop.
Cutter
Yeah, I could see you picking up.
Jamie
Yeah. Like, there's just stuff that I'm like, oh, no, I don't care. It's more.
Cutter
So, like, I would have thought you would have been more paranoid at the gym. I didn't think you could turn that off.
Jamie
No, but if you said, like, right after the gym you have to eat like a sandwich, I just wouldn't do it. I'd rather starve. Like, I wouldn't eat with my hands at the gym, but I.
Cutter
But like, when Jim Robbie's like, walking home and you're starting to let.
Jamie
I feel on. I'm walking on a cloud.
Cutter
But you're not being like, I can't wait to pour that alcohol.
Jamie
I don't give a fuck. Sometimes I'll go food shopping after.
Cutter
I thought I knew you well, but I clearly you've never been in the gym with you to learn about what.
Jamie
We Call the Iron Church.
Cutter
Maybe this is how where we take our friendship to the next level is I go to the gym with you.
Jamie
That's. Well, you. You built your own gym, now let's go.
Cutter
Are you going to come to the Dijkstra gym?
Jamie
Let's go to the Dijkstra gym.
Cutter
Let's do it. Let's fucking do it.
Jamie
I love you hosting this podcast.
Cutter
You like this? Am I doing okay?
Jamie
So it's going to be the best. Yeah. I love this.
Cutter
Okay, well, I found this clip of an actor that I love that I didn't realize now how much more I love. And I think you're gonna love him, too, because to me, he sounded exactly like you and Cutter in this video. And I. I think you'll enjoy it.
Hugh Grant
One enormous pet peeve. That's all I do. I walk around the streets peeving. I don't like people walking slowly. I don't like people with backpacks. I don't like people with backpacks on their front. I don't like people with backpacks. And water bottles. I don't like water bottles. What's the whole water bottle thing? Why do my children have to go to school with the water? They have to cart water across London. What's wrong with the drinking fountain? I mean, don't get me started on. I don't like leaf blowers, roadworks with no people working on them. I'm pretty much Larry David.
Jamie
I love this. Can we get him in here? Pull some strings?
Cutter
Jamie, right?
Jamie
Is he walking in right now?
Cutter
So that's Hugh Grant. I've. He's always been like, I guess he might be my hall pass, but, like, I don't want to sleep with him. But, like, I, like. I just love him. But I watched this video, and I was like, oh, I'm married to that man. Which is probably why I'm so.
Jamie
So you want to cheat on your husband with a guy who's exactly like your husband?
Cutter
No, before. Just mean, like, this is why I'm not physically attracted, but I'm attracted to this person in the interview because that is my husband. But it also feels very you, too. And probably what bonds the two of you.
Jamie
We just be careful sitting in that seat because they're gonna say, you're in love with me.
Cutter
Oh, wow. This is what happens when you're in this seat. It comes with the seat.
Jamie
It comes. You're like, it sounds just like my husband and you. It's. We. I mean, all me and Cutter do is talk about stuff that we hate about all Sunday.
Cutter
I know.
Jamie
In the living room.
Cutter
I know. This is all I listen to. So I ran across that in my Instagram and I thought, well, I think.
Jamie
I saw might be Hugh Grant. I saw any make a face when you said Hugh Grant is your hall pass. Why'd you make a face any? You're not a Hugh Grant guy.
Chad
No, no, no, it was, it was more that she was like, yeah, I guess Hugh Grant's my hall pass. And she's like, yeah, but I don't want to fuck him though. You know, it's just like, yeah, I just really like, I'm like, what?
Cutter
Just because that's how I feel about all my hall passes. All.
Jamie
All.
Cutter
Yeah. Like Steve, Steve Carell is another hall pass who I do not want to sleep with. But like, I like, I love. Those aren't hall passes.
Jamie
Can I tell you? This is why we love Jamie. Jamie doesn't understand things. She's like, this is my list of hall passes. I don't want to fuck. It's the opposite of what a hall passes. The only reason to get the pass is to fuck them.
Cutter
I, I, well, I don't know. There's no one else I want to sleep with it.
Chad
I think you, you just mean crush, right?
Cutter
Yes, thank you. Okay. They're my crushes. Yes.
Jamie
Yeah, but not sexual.
Cutter
Non sexual crushes.
Jamie
Which also kind of isn't a crush. Yeah, I think we're talking about different.
Cutter
It's a Jamie crush. Yeah, it's a Jamie.
Jamie
Oh, that's great. I have a Jamie crush on that person.
Cutter
That's how you can disagree.
Jamie
I don't want anything to do with them sexually.
Cutter
Yeah, yeah. Or like, you know when the, when a heterosexual woman would be like, I have a girl crush on you, like about another girl, you know, or a guy about another guy have a man crush on them.
Jamie
See, I think me along with every guy in that room, when I hear a girl say I have a girl crush on somebody, they want to fudge.
Cutter
I literally are. You're just, you're just like, you're hoping that we want to. Exactly.
Unknown
Chad.
Cutter
You're just, you're just head.
Jamie
And then like, oh, look, I slept okay.
Cutter
This is my show. Stop it.
Jamie
This is where you put us here whole past.
Cutter
Yami.
Jamie
Yeah.
Cutter
You know what I was thinking about the other day?
Jamie
You do sound like me.
Cutter
There's so many healthy breakfast foods. Do you ever eat breakfast food? Because I know you eat once a day and I guess if I is gonna eat once a day, I don't think it would be breakfast food. But we definitely do breakfast for dinner at my house every once in a while, so. Do you eat breakfast food? When was the last time you had breakfast food?
Jamie
I love breakfast food. It's been a long time because I feel like breakfast food is not, like, a 4pm Healthy. No, not. It's not that healthy if you want to really enjoy it.
Cutter
What do you mean? Do you do eggs?
Jamie
You know, eggs don't really agree with me, unfortunately.
Cutter
What do you mean they don't agree with you?
Jamie
They kind of, like, make my skin break out. Like, it's like. I would. It's like the perfect food. I would love to eat it all the time, but it just makes my skin break out. I don't really feel great after I eat them. And I've tried, like, egg whites, just the yolks. I just. So.
Cutter
But back in the day, what was your breakfast? What was, like, your ultimate breakfast?
Jamie
I mean, I. I would at, like, a Denny's, like a three. Like, law. Like a three pancake. But I mean, really, the OG, like, McDonald's breakfast, the hash browns, like, you get like, a bacon, egg, and cheese on a biscuit with a hat. I could eat. I would get nine hash browns and just crush and like, three bacon, egg, and cheese on biscuits. Nine hash browns just absolutely destroy. Like, the hash browns. To me, It's a top three food. Like I've ever had. Like a McDonald's hash brown.
Cutter
Yeah.
Jamie
Crack.
Cutter
Yeah.
Jamie
It's not even food. It's, like, full.
Cutter
Yeah.
Jamie
Addiction level. But, like, the crunchy, the salt. I mean, it's crazy.
Cutter
But you don't miss breakfast food?
Jamie
I do, but I don't consider anything really, besides eggs healthy. I do have oatmeal sometimes as a dessert.
Cutter
That's so sad.
Jamie
That's. That's. That's where I'm living, Jay.
Cutter
I hate this is what's going on. I really do.
Jamie
I'm sorry. That's. That's where. And. And by the way, when I'm having nothing and I let myself have that, it is quite the treat.
Cutter
I bet.
Jamie
Yeah. I'm so. I'm titillated when.
Cutter
When I'm.
Jamie
When I'm letting it sit there in the.
Cutter
I'll make some tasty, savory oatmeal for Thanksgiving. Robbie.
Jamie
I love it. Throw some cinnamon apples in there.
Cutter
You got it.
Jamie
You got.
Cutter
Oh, okay.
Jamie
Oh, yeah.
Cutter
Okay. All right. Before last weekend, when you were at my house, I can show you the dates I had this planned to ask you and talk about with you something Happened if I was gonna start betting on football.
Jamie
Yes.
Cutter
Where would I begin? How would I begin? You'd begin because I'm ready to join in on the fun. I'm so sick and tired of feeling left out at my house on Sunday. Teach me your ways, Robbie.
Jamie
You know where you begin.
Cutter
What do I do?
Jamie
You begin right at home.
Cutter
Talk to me. Let's do it.
Jamie
Me and Cutter.
Cutter
I'm writing it all down now.
Jamie
Well, no, that's the thing. It's like we'd have to wait until Saturday when we're all dialed in and we're ready and. What?
Cutter
Well, let's prepar. Pretend it's Saturday.
Jamie
I could just.
Cutter
Instead, probably listeners at home, you know, or a couple of our female listeners that want to join in on this.
Jamie
Want to develop an addiction.
Cutter
Yes. Let's do it, ladies. Come on, teach us.
Jamie
I love this. You're the best. So I think what we. We don't talk about like, you should take the bills, but what we do is we structure the bets, what you want to do. So what you can do is you can bet on a team. So you could just say, I like.
Cutter
Like what I do in my fanduel.
Jamie
Well, no, you're picking players, right? So let's just say, just to make it easy, Giants are playing the Jets. You could say, I think the Giants are gonna win. So you could just bet on the Giants will win. But if they're big favorites, you might have to lay $200 to win a hundred. So what there is is they make a line, meaning now the Giants are minus four and a half, so they have to win. So the Giants have to win by five for you to win, but then you only have to bet 100 to win 100.
Cutter
I'm already lost.
Jamie
I know. I could see it. When I was looking at you and I was explaining this, I was like, fuck, she's gone. It's too much. So here's what I think we should do. Here's how I think we do week one, right?
Cutter
But I don't want to just bet what team I think is gonna win.
Jamie
What do you want to do?
Cutter
I want it to be a little more sophisticated than that.
Jamie
Okay, so here's. Here's what we could do.
Cutter
But, like, I don't do lines. What's a parlay? Like. Like, just explain some things.
Jamie
What. So what we can do is me and Cutter can each come to you with our favorite three bets of the week, and we could say to you, hey, here's what I think you should do. And then you could listen to Cutter, you could listen to me, and then you could say, I want to take.
Cutter
Do you guys usually have different opinions about things?
Jamie
We have it all. Sometimes we're like, yeah, on the same thing, and then sometimes we're exactly opposite. Like, it's. It's constant. You know, it's. I mean, there's whatever 15 games on a Sunday, so we're all over the place. Like, sometimes we're against each other, sometimes I got the under, he's got the over. Like, it's all. But then sometimes we both love a thing. So that's the thing. Or we could just pick three bets that me and Cutter both love, and you could take those bets.
Cutter
Yeah, but am I going to. Is that. Is that because I'm following your guys's lead? Is this how I'm going to start picking up on things?
Jamie
Or you can say, how much money.
Cutter
Should I start with this weekend?
Jamie
Well, that's. That's a personal thing. That has nothing to do with me.
Cutter
You know me. You know, well, how much? And.
Jamie
But. But I.
Cutter
Talk to me. $500.
Jamie
I see you spend a half a million dollars on a room, and I don't know. I don't know what you're doing.
Cutter
Half a million dollars in a room.
Jamie
I knew that would fire you up. Yeah.
Cutter
Okay. I have $500 for this weekend.
Jamie
So what I would recommend is I would do five bets over the full day. But this is what I would do. It might not be what you would want to do. I would do maybe two bets in the early games, two in the late games, and then one in the night game.
Cutter
Okay, I like that.
Jamie
So you're betting throughout the day.
Cutter
I like it.
Jamie
Then what you do is with what your husband likes to do, let's say you start to lose those games early, you got to double up on the night game.
Cutter
So he's losing money and then puts more money in.
Jamie
Never. He would never do that. Absolutely not. He's in the. He's.
Cutter
Oh, here we go. They put. Get out of here. You know, do a parlay.
Jamie
So do Jamie's parlay of the week.
Unknown
She's gonna pull up the lines.
Cutter
Okay, great. Oh, great.
Jamie
But you can. You can also do a parlay, right? So what you can do is. So let's say you bet $100 on a team or a hundred dollars on. Let's say, like, who's a player who you like in the NFL?
Cutter
Josh Allen.
Jamie
Okay. So you could say, I think Josh Allen is going to throw over 300 yards today.
Cutter
Wow.
Jamie
Right? So you could bet on that. But now here's where it gets crazy. This is what your husband likes to do. He likes to parlay things. Meaning you could say, I think Josh Allen is going to throw over 300 yards. I think in another game you could say, I think the Steelers are going to win. And then I think in another game, you say, I think the Bengals team total is going to go over 30. So.
Cutter
And so what does team total mean?
Jamie
How many points they score? So now you can bet $100 and.
Cutter
All those three things to happen.
Jamie
But here's the thing. Let's say you bet $100 on Josh Allen to throw over his yards. You'd win back 100. You bet maybe 110, you win 100. When you do a parlay, you bet 100. If those three things happen, you win 600. Because it's harder to get things to happen in a row. So if you do two things together, you get paid 2.6 times your money. If three things together, you get six times your money.
Cutter
Wow.
Jamie
So you put 50 bucks, you win 300.
Cutter
And then there's also bets like who catches the first touchdown.
Jamie
Right. First touchdown. And then you could do first touchdown parlays where there's people who put $10 and win 100,000. That's crazy.
Cutter
This is bad. This is gonna become so bad.
Jamie
You're gonna be. Could you imagine if you're, like, telling your kids to shut up? Cause we're all three gambling, and it would be the.
Cutter
This is your dream. This is what you were asking me to do this Sunday, and I couldn't really be like, yeah, let's do it. Because I knew I wanted to talk to you about this, but I'm ready.
Chad
I'll tell you, too, just as someone who's also kind of new to gambling, but I'm way too into it. You want to do parlays? You want to do parlays?
Jamie
Jamie.
Cutter
What?
Unknown
I promise.
Cutter
Jamie.
Jamie
So let me tell you this, Jamie. Out of. Out of.
Cutter
Like a rookie thing is to do parlays.
Chad
I'm not saying it's a rookie thing. I'm just saying that you're gonna have fun with it. Because you know what? It's almost like, let's say in his example, you bet on Giants instead of Jets.
Jamie
Right?
Cutter
Right.
Chad
If halfway through the game, it's kind of fucking clear, it's like, jets are going to win. It's like, all right, well, this game sucks. You know a way to watch the whole game and have Fun is if you have like a parlay on, say a certain amount of yards, like he said, 300. And at third quarter or whatever he's got, you know, 250. It's like, all I need is one pass. Like, we could do this, you know, Right?
Cutter
This is what I hear all the time.
Jamie
Yeah, but then the problem is if you make a, if you make a. If you make a parlay of four things and it's in the early games and the late games, if it doesn't happen in the early games, that bet is just dead.
Cutter
Right.
Chad
That's why you gotta have like, you know, six or seven parlays going on at the same time.
Jamie
But yeah, yeah, you can do that.
Cutter
How do you. Do you write them down? How do you remember you've seen me writing about. Oh, you've got your laptop.
Jamie
I got a notebook. Sometimes I'll write things down.
Cutter
Do you also. Can you do like season long parlays?
Jamie
You could do season long bets, you can do season long parlays, but you can do like. I think the Dolphins are going to win over 10 games this year. So then every game you're like, come on. You know, and then they. But then if they.
Cutter
And what are you making these bets off of? Like, what people are talking about on the sports stations, is this because of Hard Knocks? Is this. Are you watching spring, not spring training, training camp?
Jamie
So this is, this is the, like philosophy of gambling. It's like, what's your philosophy? So some people just follow some guy and take his picks. Some people watch all this stuff, listen to a guy and take that. And then some people like me are.
Cutter
Gonna just be like, that sounds good, right?
Jamie
Or you're listening to us who listen to people's picks. That's probably what you're gonna end up doing. But what we, what we like to do is we like to take everything. So from, from all the football we watch to the people we listen to, to the podcast, to the different this. But like, sometimes I listen to one podcast and they're saying, pick, let's say the Giants. And the other one is saying the Jets. So you have to listen and be like, no, what am I? It's like listening, figuring out, like a mystery feeling. Yeah. That's what we love. That's what, that's what we love.
Cutter
What if I become like a crazy good gambler and then my next career. Yeah. And he's into this.
Jamie
Yeah.
Cutter
I could give it all up for that.
Jamie
Is this the thing you were telling me? Thought would lead to a big Conversation between us.
Cutter
Well, I just knew that. I knew you'd have a lot to say and things to talk about.
Jamie
I've never been so excited. I love explaining something like, I mean.
Cutter
I live in a house. House of men. I won last weekend, by the way.
Jamie
Yeah. But again, I think, like, there's. There's such different things that you could do where it's like you can just pick. You could take that whole 500 and say, I think the jets are going to win today. And I just put it on the jets, and then that, and then it's all. But this is where you have to figure out what is your gambling philosophy? Do you want six games going on and you're watching everything and you're trying to see how many yards one guy has, or do you want one game on and that all your money's on that game? What do you like? You have to see what you like.
Cutter
It's a big investment. Not even just with your money, but like your time. Right? Because you have to really, you have to hear how people are doing. Do you. Are you, like, following injury reports during the week?
Jamie
All my precious, precious time is spent.
Cutter
You can't do anything else but this. I'm going to have to give it all up.
Jamie
Here's the weird thing, okay? Like, when football's not on, I'm like, man, I can't wait till football season.
Cutter
Now I know why Cutter says it all the time.
Jamie
Towards the end of football season, I.
Cutter
Was just excited because that means I saw you more.
Jamie
Right? During the end of football season, I'm going, I'm kind of ready. I'm kind of ready to get my life back. Like, I, I like, I don't have the, like, like, breakthroughs in, like, my mental health and like, all that stuff during football season because I'm not listening to like, like three hour podcasts about, like, food. And then I'm listening to guys being like, he looked great last week. Like, you know, and then my brain is just like, yeah, he did look good. Like, it's such. It's such a different level. I feel like my brain is on, like during football season, then the six months or whatever when football's not on.

Jamie
And I'm like, listening to all this stuff. As soon as football season is over, I'm in a hole. I mean, as soon as football season starts, I'm in a hole.
Cutter
You're in a hole.
Jamie
I'm in a football hole.
Cutter
Well, I'm coming in to hang.
Jamie
Yes, get in the hole.
Cutter
Let's go. I'll bring my chicken.
Jamie
I'm so excited.
Cutter
All right.
Jamie
Wow.
Cutter
Well, thank you for that. I appreciate it. Now we're just gonna shift to something that I love that you no longer love, but you've been helping me a lot with, which is my self tapes and my acting. So Rob quit acting, but he is constantly celebrated and revered for his abilities. And he's an amazing coach. And I wanted to offer to all the other thespians out there the Robbie school of acting, because you always have great notes. There it is. You always have things to say. I would take all of my acting advice from that guy right there. Please call 512-387-1880 if you have any questions for Rob. But for our, you know, our actors at home, I'm gonna ask him a couple of, you know, basic acting questions to guys, get your to, you know, to wet your whistle a little bit. But, you know, you can go call the number and go from there.
Jamie
Yeah, that's my number. Why did you pay.
Cutter
There you go. Well, it's the Robbie school of acting. He won't call you until February when football season is over. But until then, I have a couple of questions to ask him. What do you want to say about this photo?
Jamie
I think it looks like I'm also. Might sell you a used car.
Cutter
Anything.
Jamie
Yeah.
Cutter
Again, most acting teachers are, you know, really mysterious.
Jamie
Yeah. Yeah. You know what? You're spot on. This is. Yeah, you're in a great.
Cutter
How do you memorize lines? What is your process?
Jamie
I'm the wor. I. So what I've started doing, I didn't have to memorize lines for 10 years. But what I did that. We did the show. I did the show with Tom, and what I asked him to do was sit and read the lines with me, and I recorded it on my phone. And then when I would go for my walks, I would be listening to it in my. In my ear.
Cutter
You would record the both of you guys talking.
Jamie
Right. And it wouldn't be us acting. It would literally be just sitting there and us reading the words. So that I didn't have to sit in a room for hours just staring at a piece of paper reading the words.
Cutter
That's what you used to do.
Jamie
I used to just. I used. So I used to. For some reason, it helped if I, like, locked myself in the bathroom. Cause there were, like, no distractions. And I'd lock myself in, like, a bathroom sometimes, and I would just sit and read it over and over.
Cutter
Out loud?
Jamie
No, not really. I'd read it in my head sometimes out loud. And then I would try and, like, write it down. It depends. Like, if I have one page, I can just fucking do it. But if I had, like, chunks of stuff. It also depends on what you're talking about. Like, if what you're talking about makes sense in a scene. Like, if somebody's like, like, where have you been? And I'm in football gear. And I'm like, I was at a. Playing football. Like, that's different than if you're, like, playing a doctor and you're like, I don't know what the. I'm talking like, I got 80cc's of.
Cutter
Right.
Jamie
Whatever the. And that's.
Cutter
So when you're talking about, like, 80cc's of whatever, do you start researching online what that is? Like, do you need to, like, deeply understand what you're talking about or you're like, I can.
Jamie
I. I haven't Ever gotten to that point where I'm like, I need to do deep research on this thing because I haven't acted in 10 years besides this, little things. So, yeah, I haven't had to do that.
Cutter
Do you practice? Do you memorize and just show up, or is there some sort of rehearsal? Because, you know, in filming, there's not a lot of, like, rehearsal. So are you, like, rehearsing how you think the scene's gonna go? Are you breaking it down with objectives and things that your character wants, or you're just gonna show up and just bring your brilliant instinct?
Jamie
I will break it down, but I will not, like, rehearse or how do you break it down or anything? I think there's some stuff that I don't. And then there's other stuff. I'm like, well, what is it? Why is this person saying this? What does this person want? And then there's the stuff where you're like, what. What was I doing before this? Why am I. Am I. Am I coming in angry? No, I just think it's like. I think it's, like, not common sense, but, like, I also think I probably heard stuff when we were on set of Sopranos for 10 years. Yeah, we're like, yeah, I do this. Like, some people write a full backstory on their character, and this. I'm like. Like, sometimes I'll think about that. Like, in this. In this show, I don't want to say too much that we did with time, but, like, okay, let's say you're not supposed to like somebody. Sometimes I'll tell myself, like, yeah, that guy, my girl. Like, I'll do that, like, this character, like, he. Your girl, so that I always kind of have that, like, this guy so I don't lose the.
Cutter
I love it.
Jamie
Yeah.
Cutter
This is why he's the best coach. Do you use. Do you use music ever to, like, get in the mood?
Jamie
No, I'm not. Like, I'm not like Cutter with sex.
Cutter
Do you use your own life, like, when you've had to cry? Like when you had to do those scenes where you cry and what did you. What did you do?
Jamie
Yeah, yeah. You kind of try and kick back, like, sad. Sad things that happened in your life. And I've also. That then I didn't do it then, I don't think. But, like, now I could see maybe listening to some sad music. There was one time where I think I was supposed to, like, commit suicide, and one of the directors was like, like, playing sad music on set, and I was like, oh, yeah, this definitely, like. Because then people weren't like, oh, did you see the game last night?
Cutter
Like, people were like, this is, like, eerie.
Jamie
And.
Cutter
Yeah, yeah. Do you. Do you or have you ever gotten nervous for acting? I feel like I never witnessed you nervous a single day on set.
Jamie
I was never nervous. One time I got nervous, and I was, like, shocked that I got nervous, that I was like, why did I just get nervous? But I was. I think maybe because it was a scene where I had, like, three lines. And I just, like. I don't think about that kind of scene, especially when you're doing a character for 10 years. And again, I'm a horrible actor. I don't want to sound like. I'm like, when you're doing this character, you're not. When you. When. Why'd you give. What does that look? I don't know. You gave a look to. No, you're not.
Cutter
Oh, I was. I was scratching my teeth.
Jamie
I thought you had some. Like. I thought we were about to see something.
Cutter
Oh, no, there's nothing prepared for that.
Jamie
Yeah.
Cutter
No.
Jamie
Show him solo. And so. And I think it was because it was a scene where, like, I didn't prepare because, again, you're doing this character for 10 years. I'm. I'm sitting in the kitchen, and I'm probably like, can you pass the spaghetti? Or, like, whatever I was saying. And I was get. And they were like, all right, everybody ready for the scene? And I saw David Chase just, like, walk in from, like, wherever he was, and he, like, walked by, and then, like, it just kind of, like, threw me for a loop. And they were like, action. And I remember being like, oh, shit. Like. And then I just kind of, like, fucked up and didn't know what to do. But again, like, David never made me nervous. And, like, I was never nervous acting. But it was just something about the way that, like, I was so nonchalant. And then, like, I think when I saw him, I was like, I think I should be a little more, like, put together. Like, I should be at attention where I'm like, man, I can't believe, like, we're on the best show and I'm getting paid great money. I'm with my friends, and, like, I could be like, hey, pass me the spaghetti. Like, you should be doing something like. You know what I mean? And I think I kind of felt that. But then, like, right after, I was back to being fine, like, it wasn't.
Cutter
It was just a way to. You've always made me that way.
Jamie
Did you get Nervous.
Cutter
I'm nervous every day of my life. Yes.
Unknown
What are you nervous about?
Cutter
I've always been. No big. Well, I'm. Because I'm insecure. It's. What. It's why I've always looked to you and I think admired you and sort of always wanted to, like, be around you and learn from you because you've. You're. I think. I think a lot of the reason why you're not nervous is because of how authentic you are, which has always been very inspiring to me. Like, you, because you're just. I think authenticity and confidence kind of go hand in hand. You've always just been very comfortable with who you are and never feel like you had to be anything but that. And that. I think that translates into acting beautifully when you have talent because you're not putting anything on.
Jamie
And I think.
Cutter
Which is why you are my acting teacher.
Jamie
I appreciate that and thank you. But when you say, like, you're always comfortable, which is true, I am. The only time I'm uncomfortable is moments like that when somebody's giving me compliments.
Cutter
I know.
Jamie
Then I'm like, oh, this is hard. Or don't we have something else? Like, I hate that. I don't.
Cutter
Like, I know, I know. Well, I'll stop. But again, Robbie school of acting. 512-387-1880.
Jamie
I was talking about something with Christina P. Recently, and it was like, what do you think? Like, you know, we're talking about, like, what makes somebody make these decisions in this? And I was like, I just think it's like. I think there are people who. When other people are talking or something, they could feel like, like, this concern or worry of, like, who they are. And I'm like, I. No matter what anybody says, it doesn't affect who I am. Like, it doesn't change. I'm like, yeah, okay. Like.
Cutter
Well, it's that thing that we go back to, remember where I would say, like, I'm always wondering, do they like me? And you're always wondering, do I like them?
Jamie
Totally. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Like, I like two of those guys in there in the booth.
Cutter
Yeah, I know. Yeah, I know which ones. Anyway, quickly to wrap up.
Jamie
Wow, you did. Come on now. Now she should get. I mean, Yami Lee, What a star. Yami, what a star.
Cutter
Speaking of another great actor, Josh Brolin, who's one of my favorite actors I recently saw, you know, he just released his memoir, which I'm very excited to read, but I just saw that he said this, and I guess I can't give Cutter shit about it. Josh Brolin says he sleeps with nicotine pouches in his mouth and uses them 24 hours a day.
Jamie
So is your standard. Anything Josh Brolin does.
Cutter
Yeah. Sounds.
Jamie
Is approved. Yeah.
Cutter
Yeah.
Jamie
I mean, anything he does. Cutter.
Cutter
Because I just feel like he's a worldly man, has been through some. I trust. I trust Josh Brolin. Yeah.
Jamie
Wow.
Cutter
So cut her out. Leave you alone.
Jamie
We got to read more about Josh Brolin because we could probably get Cutter out of some other stuff, too. Josh Brolin's like, I don't do work around the house. It's like, oh, look what. Look what Cutter gets to do now. That's great.
Cutter
Do we have a memory lane to wrap it up, boys?
Jamie
Did you pick this or is this random?
Cutter
I don't know it. When was this, Rob? I have no idea.
Jamie
I don't remember.
Cutter
Maybe season three.
Jamie
Am I wearing a FUBU jersey? What is he wearing? It's crazy.
Cutter
So it's. My guess is season three. This is a. The Matrix. You must have given that for Carmella for her birthday.
Jamie
That's funny.
Cutter
That's so cute. So AJ was giving Carmela a birthday gift, and he got her a DVD of the Matrix. My guess is season three.
Jamie
That would have been a great. Who knows more about Sopranos is what. What did you get Carmela for her birthday?
Cutter
What would you have said if you had to guess something?
Jamie
Like a photo album or something? I don't. I never would have thought. Would you have known any.
Cutter
No, I would have never known. But that's just so brilliant. That's why there's. That's writing on that show.
Jamie
Yeah.
Cutter
What was your. What is your guess? What season?
Jamie
I'm. I'm just gonna probably listen to you. I'd probably. Yeah, I'd probably say season three. I don't know. I would just make up an episode. Yeah. I don't know. Season. Season three. Let's go with season three.
Cutter
Nailed it.
Jamie
Season three, episode nine.
Cutter
Wow.
Jamie
Way to go, Jaime.
Cutter
How'd I do?
Jamie
You're the best. She's the best. So good. Yeah.
Cutter
Yeah.
Jamie
She should probably just host the rest of the time. Yes.
Cutter
I think that this should always be a very, like. No, you're the best at this.
Jamie
No, no, no.
Cutter
But I really did enjoy the assignment, and I will do this. I will do this every other month.
Jamie
Thank you. And here's. Here's what we talked about at. On Sunday is I think Jamie should, like, just whenever you're done.
Cutter
Like, today's better angle.
Jamie
Really?
Cutter
Yeah. So Maybe you should.
Jamie
I'll give you that side. If you prepare every week, I'll fuck you.
Cutter
I don't never be able to prepare every week.
Jamie
We don't maybe. Okay.
Cutter
But I am. I am relieved to know that some of the things that I showed you you had not seen yet, because you. I. You know, I don't have time to, like, you know, search, surf the web like you do sometimes. So I'm. I'm relieved.
Jamie
Yeah, no, you were. You were fantastic. What I told Jamie that she should do, boys, is so like, today she's done with her episode, and right away, she starts again. She starts picking out, getting ideas, and whenever she's ready. So if it's three weeks, if it's two months, it's whenever. Whenever she's ready to sit in that chair again. Yeah. I love it. Let's do it.
Cutter
And stay tuned for Jamie's BET picks of the week.
Jamie
I know.
Cutter
I bet I'm gonna get real good real fast. This is my. This is. I'm unemployed right now. I'm ready.
Jamie
I'm so excited. Do you think we should wrap it up by getting Cutter's commentary on the episode?
Cutter
Yeah.
Jamie
Should we get Cutter?
Cutter
Sure.
Jamie
Cutter, would you come in? Do you think he's. Yeah, he's probably watching with bated breath. He's probably like a foot away from the tv, standing there in his mouth. And let's see. Is he coming in? This will be the first time I've. That'll be the first time I've ever seen him run. If he's running in from the. I don't think I've ever seen.
Cutter
He doesn't run. He does, like, a slow job, and then his shoulders just go up like this.
Jamie
Let's see.
Cutter
I haven't seen him run in a few years.
Jamie
Let's see if Brolin. Or maybe. Obviously he's not even watching, so he might not even have commentary. There he is. Yo, you want to hear? Come, come sit for a second. Say, yeah, we're. We're going. Yeah. What do you.
Cutter
How did I do?
Unknown
You did great. It was, you know, it was nice to see you. I committed to it. Yeah, you did great.
Cutter
Thank you.
Unknown
Took, you know, passionate. Good work. It was awesome. Yeah. Any more? Any more?
Cutter
He's not a bit adjective guy. One time I asked him what he loved about me, and he was like, you're great.
Unknown
That was on here.
Cutter
Oh, yeah.
Jamie
What was your answer?
Unknown
The shit I said.
Cutter
Oh, yeah, that's right.
Jamie
Oh, you're the shit.
Unknown
Yeah, that was good. I think Rob really enjoyed it. I think you should do it once a month.
Jamie
Month.
Unknown
Instead of every other month.
Cutter
Okay.
Jamie
You should help her now. You could help her out.
Cutter
Oh, yeah. You. He didn't. He didn't help me at all.
Unknown
And I. I have. Not at all.
Jamie
Yep. Well, Jamie, here, you got. You got your two fellas over here. We're going to dinner after. How do you.
Cutter
My two guys. Well, thanks for listening. Thanks for tuning in. I had a blast. We'll see you next week.
Unknown
Nice.
Jamie
Wow.
Cutter
Hey.
Jamie
Barack. Battery. Not today.
