More. Portland Police Chief Bob Day said that the two people shot by federal authorities are associated with the Trend de Aragua. The U.S. department of Homeland Security has said that the two are gang members. At a press conference, Day said that the pair were connected to a July shooting in Portland that involved the Venezuelan gang. He could not confirm whether they were suspects. Day said he was hesitant to share these.

Oregon. A public attorney representing one of the men, meanwhile, disputes the charges, saying there's no evidence of any gang affiliation for either of the men. President Trump met with oil and gas company executives at the White House on Friday. He called on the executives to invest in Venezuela's decaying oil infrastructure, and he said if they did that, there would be plenty of interest in purchasing any oil American countries were able to.
