See terms live from NPR News. In Washington, I'm Jeanine Herbst. President Trump says he'll put new tariffs on European countries as a part of his pressure campaign to get control of Greenland. NPR's Mara Liasson reports.

In a social media post, Trump says he will put 10% tariffs on Denmark, which currently includes Greenland. He will also tariff seven other countries, including France, Germany and the UK all are members of NATO who are supporting Denmark's refusal to sell Greenland to the U.S. trump has not ruled out using military force to take over Greenland. Trump says if Denmark doesn't sell Greenland to the U.S. the tariffs will go up to 25% on June 1. Denmark says it's willing to let the U.S. expand its military presence in Greenland, but it insists Greenland is not for sale. Mara Liasson, NPR News.

Homeland Security says There are around 2,500 ICE agents on the ground in Minneapolis, the latest target of President Trump's immigration crackdown. And more protests took place today between competing groups, a far right anti immigration activist, a pardon January 6 rioter planned an event in downtown Minneapolis and a counter protest took place across the street. Meanwhile, the Justice Department is investigating Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Fry. NPR's Jasmine Garst has more.

Sources have told NPR that the Justice Department is investigating several Minnesota officials, including Wallace and Frey, over an alleged conspiracy to impede federal immigration agents. In response, Governor Walsh issued a statement that said, quote, weaponizing the justice system and threatening political opponents is a dangerous authoritari tactic. He added, the only person not being investigated for the shooting of Renee Goode is the federal agent who shot her.

NPR's Jasmine Garth's reporting. Health officials in Washington state and North Carolina are reporting cases of measles linked to the fast growing outbreak in North Carolina. As NPR's Maria Godoy reports, measles is one of the most contagious diseases known.

Public health officials in Snohomish County, Washington, say three children there contracted measles after being exposed to an infected family visiting from South Carolina. All three children were unvaccinated. Meanwhile, North Carolina officials say six measles cases there are connected to the outbreak centered in Spartanburg County, South Carolina. That state reported its measles outbreak nearly doubled in size this week with 558 confirmed cases so far. Doctors warn that the outbreak, which is the biggest one in the US Right now, is likely to get worse before it gets better. A single person with measles can infect up to 18 other unvaccinated people on average.
