Of Homeland Security has not released a breakdown of the number of arrests made by federal immigration officers here in Minneapolis, but in a tweet, DHS Secretary Kristi Noem says there have been 3,000 in the six weeks since the federal surge began. NPR has not been able to independently verify that number. Several American citizens were among those detained in Minneapolis and later released. Meanwhile, many here say the plan to continue pushing back.
