Please do not add any extra friction to the roads while we're out clearing the roads because it can cause more harm than you realize.

Thousands of people demonstrated in support of the 53rd annual March for Life rally in Washington, D.C. friday, attended by Vice President J.D. vance and House Speaker Mike Johnson. President Trump joined the large crowd via video message, saying six years ago he was proud to be the first US President to attend the march in person. He said since then, his administration has taken unprecedented strides to protect innocent lives and support the institution of the family.
Vice President J.D. Vance
Now the work to rebuild a culture that supports life continues in every state, every community and every part of our beautiful land. This is a battle that must be fought, must be won, not only in the corridors of power, but above all, in the hearts and souls of the people.

Some of the marchers held signs that read life is worth living. One sign quoted the late conservative activist Charlie Kirk, saying, get married, have kids. You won't regret it. Roe v. Wade was overturned in 2022. A Pentagon contractor has been indicted for allegedly leaking classified documents to a Washington Post reporter. NPR's Ryan Lucas has more on the 61 year old man from Laurel, Mary.

Five of the counts against Aurelio Perez Lugonis are for the transmission of national defense information, with a sixth count for the unlawful retention of it. The indictment says between October and January, Perez Lugonis repeatedly removed classified information from his workplace and provided it to a reporter. Some of that classified information then turned up in at least five articles written or co authored by the reporter. The indictment does not name the journalist, but it is known to be Hannah Natenson of the Washington Post. The FBI searched Natenson's home last week as a part of the investigation, a move that sparked concern among free press advocates. Ryan Lucas, NPR News, Washington.

And this is NPR News from New York City. Supporters of Venezuela's former president, Nicolas Maduro marched through the streets of Caracas as the nation celebrated the day its democracy was founded. As Manuel Ruda reports from Caracas.
Manuel Ruda
I'm outside a metro station in Caracas where hundreds of people have gathered for a pro government protest to demand the liberation of Nicolas Maduro and his wife, Celia Flores. Just yesterday, Venezuela's government introduced a bill in this country's Congress that would allow U.S. oil companies to invest in Venezuela on their own without having to be partners with Venezuela's government. That's something the Trump administration had been pushing for. It remains to be seen how much further they will push Venezuela's new government. For example, will they demand Venezuela's government hold new elections? Will they push them harder on the issue of political prisoners? Those are questions that remain to be answered here in Caracas in the following months.

That's Manuel Ruera reporting from Caracas. Russia has again attacked Ukraine's capital, leaving parts of Kyiv without power or heat during one of its harshest winters, according to the city's mayor and Lobo local officials. Reporters speaking from bomb shelters say the strikes are massive. This comes as peace talks are being held in Abu Dhabi between the U.S. russia and Ukraine negotiators. Moscow is demanding much of the eastern territory of Donbas before it stops fighting. I'm Dwahli Sai Kowtel, NPR News in New York.
