President Trump says he refuses to share military plans with Gulf allies on potential US Intervention in Iran, saying doing so could impede negotiations. Speaking to reporters on Air Force One last night, Trump said talks with Tehran are progressing.

Trump says he'll continue to push Iran to agree to a deal that includes no nuclear weapons. The president has considered a possible military strike on Iran amid widespread press protests and a violent crackdown on protesters in the country. Thousands of people have been killed in recent demonstrations. A powerful winter storm is sweeping across large parts of the southern US Today, bringing heavy snow and icy conditions. It's the second major storm to hit the eastern U.S. in a week. And as NPR's Amy Held reports, unusually cold temperatures are expected to remain in place for the coming days.

Firefighters there successfully fished a pickup driver out of a pond after the vehicle lost control, one among hundreds of crashes in the region.

Journalists Don Lemon and Georgia Ford say they plan to keep reporting despite their arrests in Minnesota last week. NPR's Chandelyse Duster reports they were taken into custody after covering an anti ice protest at a Church in St. Paul.

Journalists don Lemon and Georgia Ford were released from federal custody on Friday. Both Fort and Lemon say they were not participating in the anti ice protests at the Minnesota church, but were reporting on the incident as journalists. After his release, Lemon, a former CNN anchor, said on his YouTube show it is time for all journalists to stand up for each other.

The 22 year old beat Novak Djokovic in Melbourne today to claim his first Australian Open title. The Grammy Awards will be held in Los Angeles tonight. Kendrick Lamar, Lady Gaga and Bad Bunny are among the top nominated artists. If the Puerto Rican superstar wins, he could make Grammys history. NPR's Isabella Gomez Sarmiento reports.

Phil is gearing up for his annual weather prediction at Gobbler's Knob in Pennsylvania. The the groundhog will emerge just after sunrise Monday to forecast either six more weeks of winter or an early spring. It's a custom that dates back to the 1800s. Last year, Phil predicted more winter, which is historically his most common call. The nearly 140 year tradition in the state often draws tens of thousands of people to watch the forecast.
