Live from NPR News. In Washington, I'm Dave Mattingly. President Trump continues to ramp up pressure on Iran to scrap its nuclear ambitions ahead of tomorrow's scheduled talks in Oman. NPR's Franco Ordonez reports on the president's latest remarks to NBC News.
Franco Ordonez (0:36)
President Trump issued another warning to Iran's supreme leader, saying that bad things will happen if he tries to restart Iran's nuclear program.
Steve Futterman (0:45)
I would say he should be very worried. Yeah, he should be. As you know, they're negotiating with us.
Franco Ordonez (0:50)
The president has been threatening another major strike on Iran as the US Continues to build up its military forces in the region. Trump previously threatened to strike if more protesters were killed, but as death continue, he appears to have shifted his focus to pressing Iran to re enter talks on ending their nuclear program. Franco Ordonez, NPR News, the White House.

President Trump's special envoy, Steve Witkoff, and Trump's son in law, Jared Kushner among those scheduled to take part in the negotiations in Oman. The talks were moved from Turkey at Tehran's request. The US Supreme Court is allowing California to move forward with its new congressional map. As Steve Futterman reports, state Republicans had challenged the redrawn map as unconstitutional, citing racial gerrymandering.
Steve Futterman (1:40)
California voters approved the redrawn congressional districts in November with nearly 65% of voters giving them a thumbs up. The move came in response to similar action in Texas. In Texas, it was Republicans, at the urging of President Trump, who pushed to give the GOP up to five additional seats in the House. In California, it was Democrats leading the drive to give their party five new seats. Governor Gavin Newsom has been a key supporter.

We can't stand back and watch this democracy disappear district by district all across this country.
Steve Futterman (2:14)
Republicans challenged the California map, but the high court rejected a request to block it from taking effect. For NPR News, I'm Steve Futterman in San Francisco.
