Just 39% say they approve of the that Trump's doing overall, and it's been below 40% in our poll since November. I mean, just 36% approve of how he's handling foreign policy and the economy. It's a really difficult spot for any president. And what really jumps out here, though? 51% say they strongly disapprove of the job that Trump is doing. That's tied for the worst score in the decade that Marist has been asking about strong approval and disapproval. The last time it was this high or this bad for Trump was in the days after the January 6, 2021.

Attack on the capit Domenico Montanaro. The poll has a margin of error of 3 percentage points. The special election for the Democratic nomination for a U.S. house seat in New Jersey is proving to be a tight one. The Associated Press has yet to make a call. Multiple Democratic candidates are looking to succeed Mikey Sherrill, who vacated her seat after she won the race for governor last year. President Trump is claiming progress on U.S. efforts to negotiate an end to Russia's war in Ukraine. Trump's assessment came as White House envoys are in the Middle east for another round of trilateral Talks. From Moscow, NPR's Charles Maines reports.
Charles Maynes
In a statement, White House special envoy Steve Witkoff calls the two days of talks constructive, the most immediate outcome the release of some 300 soldiers and another prisoner exchange between Russia and Ukraine. Witkoff also says the US And Russia have agreed to re establish a military dialogue channel suspended following Russia's full scale invasion in 2022, with Witkov calling it crucial to achieving and maintaining peace, yet left unclear whether Russia and Ukraine are any closer to a deal either could accept. Months of US Diplomatic efforts have bogged down over Russia's maximalist demands on Ukrainian territory and Ukraine's desire for ironclad security guarantees from the West.
