Live from NPR News in Washington, I'm Korva Coleman. The clock is ticking for the Department of Homeland Security one week from today. The agency is due to run out of funding. Top Democrats released a 10 point plan for DHS immigration law enforcement agents in their continuing response to the deaths of Renee Goode and Alex Preddy in Minneapolis last month. In addition to agents removal of masks, they want the mandatory use of body cameras. They want officers to adhere to uniforms with identifying information and standardized equipment and expanded training. Democrats want to ensure officers are using judicial warrants and that basic rights are protected, such as immediate access to legal representation for those who are taken into custody and charged. But Republicans say some of these are non starters and that could give way for another stopgap bill that kicks the can down the road for a few more weeks. Claudia Rizales, NPR News.

Novo Nordisk will be slashing the price as an example of Ozempic from more than $1,000 to $199 and the price of WeGovy from more than $1,300 to $199. Nobody can even believe it, a 578% difference.

But consumers who use the website have to agree to pay for the medications out of pocket. They cannot use health insurance. Some drug policy experts say it's not clear how many people will benefit. For people using insurance, copays may be cheaper. The US And Iran have begun critical talks in Oman. The negotiations over Iran's nuclear program could be crucial for averting war. NPR's Jane Aroff has details.

The indirect talks through Omani mediators focus on Iran's nuclear program. Iran says it's for peaceful purposes. The US Accuses it of building a bomb. And while Iran says it will discuss only uranium enrichment, the US Says talks should include Iran's ballistic missile program, support for armed groups in the region and a crackdown on Iranian protesters. This is the first meeting scheduled since The United States struck Iranian nuclear targets last June after an Israeli bombing campaign. Those talks were canceled after the attack. Iran has warned that if the U.S. attacks again, it could spark regional war. Jane Araf, NPR News. Aman.
