A federal judge told the Trump administration it can't withhold billions of federal dollars for the New York, New Jersey Gateway Tunnel Project while a legal challenge plays. As NPR's Tamara Keith reports, there's a bizarre naming rights dispute now wrapped up in the freeze.

The White House put a hold on the project's funding in October. Then this past week, several news outlets reported the White House had told Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer of New York that the president would release the funds if Schumer helped rename New York City's main train station and an airport near Washington, D.C. after Trump asked about it on Air Force One. Trump didn't entirely dismiss the idea.
David Folkenflick

ISIS has taken responsibility for a suicide bombing that struck a mosque in the Pakistani capital, killing more than 30 people and wounding dozens of others. NPR's Dia Hadid has more.
Dia Hadid
The group said in an Arabic language statement that guards posted outside the Shiite mosque in Islamabad tried to stop the bomber from entering, but he shot them before detonating his explosives in a crowd of worshippers. It was the second blast to strike the Pakistani capital in months, and it was the deadliest since 2008, reviving fears from a time when militants frequently struck Pakistani cities. The interior minister, Mohsen Naqvi, says they've arrested four people in relation to the attack and says the bomber trained in Afghanistan. Naqvi also blamed neighbouring India, accusing it of funding those militants. India rejects those claims. Dear Hadid, NPR News, Mumbai.

And Pierre's Becky Sullivan has more.
Becky Sullivan
Before her injury, Von was seen as a favorite for a gold medal on the downhill, a stunning fact considering she retired more than six years ago before mounting a comeback to World cup ski racing. Her teammate Breezy Johnson is another serious metal contender in that race. In figure skating, the first medals will be awarded when the team event wraps up with back to back to back free skate routines. First the pairs, then women, then men. The US Was in the lead over Japan after Saturday. There are also medal events in the mixed relay, biathlon and men's luge.
