Details@capitalone.com Live from NPR News, I'm Giles Snyder. Authorities in Arizona say a person has been detained for questioning in connection with the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie. Authorities believe the 84 year old was taken by force when she went missing from her home outside Tucson, Arizona, more than a week ago. NPR's Emma Bowman has more.

A spokesperson for the sheriff's Department said Tuesday night that the, quote, subject was detained during a traffic stop south of Tucson. The news comes hours after investigators had their first big break in the case. Earlier Tuesday, the FBI released images retrieved from Guthrie's security camera showing a masked person at her front door the morning she went missing. It's unclear whether the person detained is the person who appears in that footage. Authorities have yet to name any suspects. It's also not clear whether Nancy Guthrie, the mother of today's show co host Savannah Guthrie, is still alive. Emma Bowman, NPR News.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police say they found the first victims inside the Tumblr Ridge Secondary School. One died on route to hospital and another two were found in a residence in the Small town of 2400 People in Northeastern British Columbia. The shooter was found dead inside the school. RCMP Superintendent Ken Floyd says it might be hard to find any motive.
